Women s Life Of Christianity
The women in the history involved in the church played a variety of roles in their life of Christianity.
During early Christianity, they were mostly health care givers, teachers, and missionaries. Until recent
times, women were mostly excluded from higher church positions such as episcopal and clerical jobs
within the churches. However a good number of women have been influential in the life of the church
from contemporaries of Jesus, to subsequent saints, theologians, doctors of the church, missionaries,
abbesses, nuns, mystics, founders of religious institutes, military leaders, monarchs and martyrs.
Christianity from the start placed men in positions of authority in marriage, government, community,
family, and pretty much anything. The religion only allowed membership of priests to males only.
There was a wide following amount of women with an enhanced social status, while they believed and
practiced Christianity, they were only allowed to follow the men. Later centuries, as religious groups
of women and nuns flourished, women came to play an important role in Christianity through
convents and abbeys and have continued through history to be active. They mostly participated in
schools, hospitals, nursing homes and monastic settlements. A lot has changed in recent decades, with
the ordination of women in some churches have become pretty popular. Focusing on the early century
of Christianity, played a huge role in re defining a women s credibility within the Christian

Comuting Using Motorcycle Or Car
Commuting using Motorcycles or Car, one of the most discussed topics between car goers and
motorcycle goers and also the ones in between. Discussions between each side always end up with
different ideas about the following: Time, Costs, Safety, Fun factor.
In the city, roads are narrow with no more than three lanes and filled with traffic lights and stop signs,
because of that cars usually get held up by traffic and leads to congestion. This phenomenon usually
leads to an effect commonly called late to work . With that in mind, motorcycle commuting saves time
because they are allowed to filter traffic in a congested condition (different rules may apply for
different countries). A testimony by a motorcycle magazine editor theoretically calculated he saved up
to 24 hours each month just by commuting on motorcycles in San Francisco, one of the megalopolises
in Northern California. @testimony san fran On the other part of the world, in Sydney AUS, a race
type study was done by The Herald, local newspaper publisher. Purpose of the race was to find out
which mode of transport is the fastest way from North Shore towards the Parliament House on
Macquarie Street during peak hours. The race includes a car, bicycle, scooter, on foot and public
transport (bus and train). The winner was scooter with only 25minutes and 12 minutes faster than a
car. This shows that motorcycle saves almost 50 percent of the time spent in the car in traffic.

The Struggles And Inequalities Of Mexican Americans
In the educational setting, Mexican Americans have faced discrimination, segregation, and inequality
for many years. This paper discusses the struggles and inequalities that Mexican Americans have
faced in education. I will focus on different educational time periods and discuss the problems and
struggles that occurred in those time periods. The time periods that I give focus to include education in
the Spanish Mexican era (1519 1848), education and early Anglo rule in the Southwest (1836 1890),
the expansion of American education (1890 1960), and education in the contemporary period (1960
present). Education in the Spanish Mexican era lasted from 1519 until 1848. During this period,
education occurred in informal and formal settings and was aimed towards the Indian population, who
were Spanish subjects. Education in informal settings was the general norm and the most important
informal settings were missions, presidios, and civilian settlements. The purpose of educating the
Indians was to substitute their identity with a Spanish one and to also teach them the acceptance of
their social relegation. The way the Spanish did this was by teaching the Indians literacy, music, the
Catholic faith, Spanish manners, and by repressing their indigenous religious and social beliefs
(Kloosterman 2). Education and the early Anglo rule in the Southwest lasted from 1836 until 1890.
From 1836 to about 1850, formal education took place in schools that were founded by the Catholic
Church.

The Loopholes Of Wal Mart
Loopholes in Wal Mart Management
Introduction of Wal Mart
As the world s biggest retailer, the Wal Mart s history is a story about innovation, leadership and
success. Sam Walton established the Wal Mart in 1962 (Michael, 2009). On October 31, 1969, it was
incorporated and listed on the New York Exchange in 1972 (Michael, 2009). Wal Mart grew from a
single store in Rogers, Arkansas in 1962 to the world s largest retailer, which operates over 11,000
retail units under 71 banners in 27 countries (Wal Mart s official website, 2014). In addition, the Wal
Mart employs 2.2 million associates around the world, which equals to the population of 50 smallest
countries combined (Andy, 2012). With its advanced cross docking inventory system, good
relationship with factories, Wal Mart has achieve economics of scale and got a big market share.
Food Safety Problems in Wal Mart, China
Although Wal Mart has achieved success in many aspects, some loopholes arise in Wal Mart
management. Firstly, the Wal Mart is under fire in China for allegedly dismissing four workers who
accused by the company of selling expired food (Hayley, 2014). Food safety has always been an issue
in China; for example, counterfeit baby formula, adulterated pickled vegetables, and counterfeit
alcoholic drinks. In these situations, merchants are not the only one at fault, but also the Chinese
government and the law. In order to attract more foreign investments, some local governments have
set less stringent

Essay Government Funding of Stem Cell Research
In the 2004 presidential election, one of the most controversial issues facing voters was the battle over
embryonic stem cell research. In the weeks leading up to the election, polls were indicating that 47
percent of Bush supporters agreed that the destruction of embryo cells is unethical; however, 53
percent of Bush voters supported stem cell research. The overwhelming majority of Kerry backers
also supported stem cell research, indicating that the majority of American voters support stem cell
research. Embryonic stem cell research, while still in its infancy, has the potential to treat or perhaps
even cure more than 100 million people suffering from a variety of illnesses and conditions. Scientists
agree that stem cells could be one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an October 25, 2004 Newsweek article, researcher Dr. Susan Fisher states, the infusion of private
money is indispensable, but it will never fill the gaps in funding created by federal restrictions. In the
same Newsweek article, Nobel Prize winner Dr. Peter Agre argues, relying on private money is like
saying we could open the public schools from 10 to 10:15, but you are welcome to send your kids to
private school. History tells us that there are positive advantages to the government s involvement in
treating human diseases. Federal funding hastened the development of polio vaccine as well as many
other vaccines to prevent communicable diseases. An editorial for the Life Sciences Institute written
by Richard Lempert and Jack Dixon in 2001 states, what is clear is the fact that without federal
funding the progress of understanding the properties of stem cells will be much slower. Given the
current public opinion surveys on the subject of stem cell research, one may argue that many citizens
feel there is a need to accelerate progress rather than impede it.
Many scientists believe that federal funding is also critical to ensure the oversight that will be
necessary for expanding stem cell research. There are those who believe that the possibility of abuse
and public safety concerns are real and vastly understated in

Darkrealm Research Paper
In the beginning when darkness ruled the universe hideous daemons reined the planet for several
millennia till the light caused the daemons to vanish, which lead to believe they were destroyed. The
daemons waited for the day of Armageddon, when they would once again reign over the four corners
of the earth. Atmospheric disturbances caused by the super earthquakes created Dimension Gateways
opening Realm Portals. The Portals allowed species of daemons to cross over from other dimensions
and realms.
They encircled the globe, establishing Legion Command Posts to organize their slaughter campaigns.

Argumentative Essay On Space Habitability

11 October 2017
Space Habitability The original space race may be far in the past, but the human drive to explore and
discover has kept the concept of space travel and colonizing the rest of the universe a fascinating
concept. Additionally, as climate change worsens on Earth and the human population continues to
grow, the idea of moving out of Earth and beginning fresh becomes more and more appealing.
However, Earth is the only planet known to sustain life, and whether life can be sustained elsewhere is
a question that still needs to be answered. Space colonization presents a variety of new problems that
need to be solved and dangers that need to be accounted for. Beyond the most obvious ... Show more

Transporting this much cargo requires the development of new technologies, and potentially private
sector contracting ( NASA s Journey ). Transporting so much cargo, even if some is reusable across
missions, isn t Earth independent. Long term, a different solution is necessary in order to sustain
growing human populations separate from Earth. This requires being fully dependent on the sun and
Martian resources for everything from food to fuel and building materials. This is challenging because
most forms of life are unable to survive in a Mars like environment without assistance. However,
research at Cambridge has found that Mars contains the resources to sustain cyanobacteria, which
could potentially make it possible to sustain other forms of life on Mars. Perhaps most importantly,
cyanobacteria can perform photosynthesis, which makes oxygen production possible (Verseux et al.,
2015). Verseux determined that sustaining a Mars crew for a year solely on Earth food would require
the transportation of an extra 29 mt of supplies, which is extremely expensive. The symbiotic
relationship between plants and cyanobacteria could be used to grow food, and cyanobacteria can be
directly used as feed for fish, which could be an effective protein source (Verseux et al., 2015). The
inhabitants of Mars also need water, both for drinking and for sustaining the production of food and
oxygen. Fortunately, as we discussed in lecture, Mars has large polar

Some Stereotypical Jobs for Woman
A woman s only job is to stay at home, take care of her family, and pleasure her man. What is a man s
job? Men, they do everything, quoted a fellow male classmate, Men get the real money. But it is the
twenty first century! Women are no longer expected to stay at home; they have taken roles as teachers,
doctors, C.E.O.s, part of the military, and the list goes on. As for men, it is now acceptable for them to
stay at home, take care of their families or even become nannies and nurses. Will Meek, creator of
website Psychology of Men , defined gender role as a set of attitudes, behaviors, and self presentation
methods ascribed to members of a certain biological sex. Gender roles have changed throughout the
course of American history; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Make your personal appearance just as beautiful as possible (Hill s Manual of Social and Business
Forms, 1888). It didn t really matter whether she was happy or not. A woman s purpose in life was to
obey her family and her husband s family and make them pleased. A man s purpose in life was also to
please his family by becoming someone important and bringing his family satisfaction and honor.
They were told what to become and didn t exactly have a choice; they had to obey by what their
families wanted. In some cases, this still stands today, but some families aren t as harsh and are a little
more lenient. He was also to provide nourishment and shelter for his wife and children. Society back
then would laugh and judge a man that obeys his wife and puts her before himself. They would look
down to a man that would rather become a nurse rather than a politician. They expected a man to be in
control. Families back then wanted to birth males so that they can expand the family name and gain
power. The males represented the family as whole, whereas the females represented their husbands
and their kids. Neither men nor women continued to be what society wanted them to be. The shift in
women s roles was a turning point in American culture in the late nineteenth century. They started
fighting for their equality and proving that they are worth more than a man s property. Women began
their fight in 1848 with the fight for women suffrage. Four

Future When Coding, And As A Result, We Experienced The
future when coding, and as a result, we experienced the Year 2000 project (Yaraghi, 2016, para. 3).
Combine all the problems with projects and the government s dependency on contractors who may or
may not have ever undertaken a government project before and certainly not at the scale level of some

Agile methodology practices adopted in the private sector produced a much higher rate of return on
each project following Agile methodology (Vajre 2014, para. 6). Using Agile methodology
development often helps determine early in the project if the project is worth pursuing and if the scope
needs adjustment for a successful project conclusion (Elfanbaum 2014, para. 7). Agile methodology
develops the most important parts of the project first so that the teams can make sure they are on target
with the overall project goal (Elfanbaum 2014, para. 9). The Agile methodology will not prevent
failure but will reduce the chances of failure. The reduction of risk in a project requires risk
identification and risk mitigation techniques dealing with the risk (Heusser 2013, para. 6). The
Healthcare.gov site appears to have followed a Waterfall Methodology approach by testing and then
attempting to fix software defects without testing the rest of the system for additional problems. The
Waterfall Methodology no longer works well in complex development cycles. More robust
applications that need phase development with required regression testing along the way should
require using the Agile methodology (Holler 2014, para. 5). One of the biggest obstacles to the
government adopting the Agile methodology is an out of date procurement practice. To address the
outdated system, the U.S. Digital Services (USDS)

Summary Of The Reverse Dive By Jessamyn Hope
And it hits me, not then, but today, thirty years later. Thirty years too late (91). Those are the words of
Jessamyn Hope when speaking about her experience with regret regarding her life s decisions, the
major theme for her essay. Her essay tells the story about how she failed to overcome two life
challenges, one having a direct physical impact and the other having a delayed impact. The essay The
Reverse Dive by Jessamyn Hope is a narrative essay looking to persuade its reader through the use of
analogy, empirical evidence, and appeal to emotion that one should face their challenges while they
can to avoid regrets.
Hope uses the analogy of the reverse dive and copping with her mother s illness to convey to the
reader that being around a loved one when experiencing something like this could be as scary as
attempting a death defying trick. These two challenges are implied to be connected. Hope states that
the reverse dive [...] had been haunting [her] for over a year (77). She has been avoiding attempting it
and she is afraid of what could come with trying it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her use of the diving story really allowed her to express her experience with her mother without the
reader feeling unable to relate, the fact that these events happened directly to her gave her whole
argument more power due to the fact that she is able to say she did that first hand and she felt guilt
prior to the events, and her appeal to emotion allowed her to give the reader a glimpse of the regret she
felt thinking back on the whole experience. It is very challenging to think back on painful events and
critique what one did wrong, Hopes essay urges the reader to try overcome their challenges so they

Imagery And Imagery Of Shakespeare s Hamlet
Shakespeare s Hamlet uses imagery as a means to develop the ideas that grow out of the
representation of a thought. Shakespeare uses imagery as vivid or figurative language to represent
objects, actions and ideas. The imagery of disease, poison and decay is used throughout the play by
Shakespeare for a purpose. The descriptions are of disease, poison and decay to help us understand the
bitter relationships between the characters that exist in the play and Hamlet s own cynicism. We see
Hamlet s soliloquy when he contemplates suicide. The resentful nature that exists between Polonius
and Hamlet is heightened with the use of imagery. The imagery enhances Claudius hate of Hamlet.
Shakespeare uses imagery in this play to deepen our understanding of the emotions experienced by
Hamlet.
The imagery of decay is used to help us understand the depression Hamlet felt in his first soliloquy
about suicide. O that this too sullied flesh would melt, Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew, Hamlet is
communicating his wishes not to exist in this world anymore. He wants to die and be come part of the
earth. An image of Hamlet s flesh, rotting, combining with nature is produced. At this moment we can
grasp the intensity of Hamlet s true emotions. We can feel his pain and his yearning for his death.
Hamlet continues to say, How weary, stale, fat, and unprofitable/ Seem to me all the uses of this
world! Fie on t, ah, Fie, tis an unweeded garden/That grows seed. Things rank and gross in the

Free will(Not actual title)

flowing through their minds whether it s a good thought or a bad one that has the intent to harm

cannot help themselves.
We all have the capacity to commit evil acts but it is the knowing of good from evil is what stops most
from actually acting upon their thoughts. But their are many times the perspective of an evil act can

How Did Ben Carson Impact Literature
Ben Carson impacted literature in big ways. He wrote an autobiography about his life, and he loved
reading scientific literature when he was in college. Ben made literature more significant because his
stories opened people s eyes to his past. Ben showed them that everyone struggles, but those who
struggle have the potential to become the most influential people in the world. Ben has also indirectly
influenced history by the movie Gifted Hands that tells Ben s life story. Ben Carson wrote an
autobiography, and many others wrote biographies about him and his story. These stories are
significant in literature as well as history, because it spread his story across the world. Ben mentioned
his childhood when he said: I started reading about people of great accomplishment... and it dawned

Economics theories are just as important as international relations theory. This is because economics
theories that implemented as a economic policies for a countries will determine whether it will prosper
the country s wealth or not. Economics theories are not just determine national economic stability but
it also can gives effects to international economic system. Even, economics theories are common to be
discussed among scholars on how the economics theories will gives effects to international stability,
and this can be seen through what Malmgren have said in his paper:
Commercial and financial issues are starting to replace traditional diplomatic and security questions as
the main stuff of foreign policy. This shift in priorities in part a consequence of the receding threat of
war between the superpowers. But, just as important, a sweep of world wide economic adjustment is
also under way, changing the framework of inter national politics. ... Show more content on

Influence of Religion on Society during the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries
The undeniable power, force, and influence of religion stand out throughout history. However,
according to J. Michael Allen and James B. Allen in World History from 1500, in the fifteenth and
sixteenth centuries, religion was exceptionally important, because it had a great influence on
everything from government to social order and family relationships (16). Hundreds of years may
separate these two time periods and the modern world, but the same positive effects of religion such as
unity, security, and a social order are still basic ideals in today s world. This is also true for the
negative effects such as the conflicts that result in war and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With this sense of security and belonging felt throughout the community, people felt united, especially
as Joan was able to mobilize them to fight For God and for France. They shared common interests and
common goals in living a religious lifestyle as dictated by their religion whenever possible. In fact,
one of Christopher Columbus s motives for sailing westward to India was to open up opportunities to
take the Christian gospel to the heathen (Allen Allen 23). Religion also brought a new structure to
households. Elders were not only parents, but they also became teachers and role models for their
children (12). This became obvious in the movie Joan of Arc, where the majority of dinner
conversations related to their religious beliefs, as it was important to pass on the importance and need
for religion to the future generations. Unity was a very powerful tool during this time period because
power came in numbers. This was obvious when Joan gathered the community and convinced the
people to defend their beliefs and fight back against the English. Since the people were united in their
faith, it was much easier to defend their territories and beliefs. Thus, religion had tremendous positive
effects.
On the other hand, this new feeling of expansion, security, hope, and unity were the constant conflicts
of opposing beliefs and struggles. For instance, although there were many

For these reasons the book has been a center point of controversy and has been criticized by book

63cu Research Paper
The main components that make up copper are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons are positively
charged, electrons are negatively charged, and neutrons don t have a charge. The nucleus is at the
center of the atom, and it contains protons and neutrons. Electrons are stored in energy levels. Since
protons have a +1 charge and neutrons don t have a charge, the nucleus is positively charged. The two
stable copper isotopes that should be describe are 63Cu and 65Cu. The composition of 63Cu is 0.6915

There are 29 electrons in the copper atom. There are 29 electrons in copper because copper has to stay
neutral, which means that there are also 29 protons. So, since electrons have a negative charge, and
protons have a positive charge, 29 negative plus 29 positive equals no charge/neutral. The electron
configuration in symbols can be translated by: the first number is the shell number, the letter is the
subshell, and the to the power of, or superscript, is the number of electrons that are present in the
subshell. In the s subshell, there is 1 orbital, in the p subshell there are 3 orbitals, and in d subshells,
there are 5 orbitals ( Electron Shell. Wikipedia). Each orbital can hold a maximum of two electrons.
So, the s subshell can hold 2 electrons, the p subshell can hold 6 electrons, and the d subshell can hold
10 electrons. Since there are 29 electrons in copper, all of the orbitals in the subshells will be filled,
except there will be one extra s subshell if you use 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 3d10 4s1. The fourth shell is
the highest shell that contains electrons in copper. So, if you were to add up 4s + 4p + 4d + 4f, it
would equal 32 electrons ( Electron Shell.

Nonverbal Communication And Body Language
Body language (the process of communicating nonverbally through conscious or unconscious gestures
and movements). People all of the world use body language or gestures to communicate nonverbally. I
personally think that nonverbal communication and body language are one of the biggest barriers in
communication especially between one culture to other. Body gestures can be misinterpreted as rude
or disrespectful depending on the country, region, or even the city you re from.
A few for example, in some countries the two fingers up to make the peace sign and also the thumbs
up sign can be considered rude. In some places, the ok sign that we use with our hand is considered a
sign of the devil 666, but in France it means nothing as in zero and not ok or great. In some places can
t, huge men and women can t huge each other if the opposite sex isn t a family. In Haiti which is a
French speaking country it is rude to shrug the shoulder when communicating with older people. The
shrug of the shoulder is only use with your friends. Also, in Haiti kissing on the cheek like in France is
for family friend I not greet that way it s a sign that something with wrong in relationship between you

Emotional Analysis Of The Old Spice Scent Vacation...
We all know a person who looks very confident and put together on the outside, but a conversation
with them reveals that much is lacking in their personality. Similarly, commercials can appear fun or
exciting, but upon further inspection it is greatly lacking in depth. Because of this, creating
commercials is a balance between providing information and keeping the viewers engaged. The
process isn t simply writing a script containing only style and no substance, or one with only
substance and no style. With the former, a commercial could capture the audience s attention, but
provides no supporting information; the latter, provides an excessive amount of information, but does
not seize the viewers. Creating commercials pines for the utmost balance; if the balance is off by a
fraction, it could mean the difference between a million dollars or zero. The Old Spice Scent Vacation
commercial sits atop the pinnacle of this balance. It was made to advertise their new collection of
scents ranging from the scenic beaches of Fiji to the snowy peak of Denali (Mt. McKinley). The
commercial illustrates this balance through the use of emotional appeals, imagery, and appeals to
authority and credibility to convince people of the outlandish benefits of switching to Old Spice, in
terms of confidence and sexual appeal.
Old Spice s use of appealing to certain emotions carries strong effects in this commercial. It evokes a
multitude of feelings, anywhere from anger to lust to joy. The commercial

The setting is a more civilised one than that of Wuthering Heights. This is seen when Cathy and
Heathcliff run to Thrushcross Grange for the first time, they could see that it was a splendid place
carpeted with crimson covered chairs and tables, and a pure white ceiling bordered with gold. The
windows in Thrushcross Grange are large suggesting to the reader that visitors are welcome. The
opposite is true of Wuthering Heights as Lockwood describes the windows in chapter 1 the windows
are deeply set in the wall.
The Grange is shown as being refined, courteous and protective; this is reflected in the occupants of
the Grange. Edgar and Isabella have been invited to stay at Wuthering Heights, the reply has a
condition: Mrs Linton begged that her darlings might be kept carefully away from that naughty,
swearing boy. (Nelly Chapter 7). This protective nature is also seen in the second generation but more
strongly as Edgar forbids Cathy to go and visit Wuthering Heights at all. Edgar is described by
Heathcliff as a lamb, but this soft attribute that is typical of the Grange is not always a flaw of

Orthodontic Braces Research Paper
Orthodontic braces are more beneficial than clear aligners because they work on even the most
complex issues. A deep bite is a case of a complex orthodontic issue, Dr. Matthew Wiring from Wiring
Orthodontics states that A deep bite is when the upper teeth completely overlap and cover the lower
teeth. This can be a severe problem if the lower teeth hit the roof of the mouth (Wiring par. 7). This
suggests that in a certain case of a deep bite, orthodontic braces are the best method to treat this
situation. The alignment of the upper and lower teeth would fall under a category that traditional
braces are able to fix because braces would pull the teeth forward back into proper alignment with the
help of elastics and other orthodontic appliances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the jaw is small, teeth may grow in crowded or crooked... if there is too much space in the jaw, the
teeth may drift out of place (Holht par. 4). Malocclusion, or a bad bite, can be categorized as an
orthodontic complex issue because it can cause severe consequences. Fortunately, malocclusion can
be treated with traditional orthodontic braces because they work slowly to shift the teeth in the correct
position, thus fixing the alignment of the jaw. Realigning the upper and lower jaws back into place is
difficult. Despite this, orthodontic braces are recommended as they would treat this issue. Alignment
of the teeth is also a complex orthodontic issue, Dr.Steven M. Dater from Steven M. Dater Dentistry
suggests that Braces can fix the position of the teeth, as well as correcting the bite. Braces are the best
option if you are dealing with a severe bite problem, or other complex treatment is needed (Dater par.

Abortion Is The Most Common Medical Procedures Essay
Abortion is removing the fetus or embryo from the uterus before it is ready to be born. Spontaneous,
which is also referred to as a miscarriage and the purposeful abortion, which is an induced abortion
are the two major forms of abortion. Having a professional medical procedure conducted for an
induced abortion is the safest way to handle the abortion under the local law. Annually, abortions are
the most common medical procedures done in the United States, over 40 percent of women have
terminated a pregnancy at least once in their life. Most woman who go through the procedure to
terminate her pregnancy are most likely poor, unmarried, or over the age of 40 years (Berer, 2004).
Besides the professional procedures, there are also many instances of unsafe abortions, which are
conducted by untrained professionals and can cause horrid outcomes to the woman. Abortion was
legalized by the Supreme Court in 1973 through the Roe v. Wade decision making the procedure safer.
Over 75 thousand maternal deaths happen annually and over 20 million abortions are conducted in the
United States alone, about 10 million are not safely conducted. Woman have many reasons for
wanting to go through with the procedure, including disease, trauma, genetic defect or biochemical

The Current Capitalistic Society And Its Effects On The...
Alex Tannenbaum Final Paper In our current capitalistic society nothing is more closely followed than
economic growth. When economies are growing they are praised, but when they are not they are
perceived as a failure. Growth has brought us many great technologies that have helped form the
global culture that we now live in. However, there is a misapprehension among society that economic
growth is limitless. In fact, it is impossible to have unlimited growth in a finite world. This has lead
society to expect more from the economy and the earth than what they are actually able to provide for
us. As a result, we are now overproducing and over consuming at record rates, which is having
extremely detrimental effects on the environment. If we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, they show that unlimited economic growth is a producer of dissatisfaction, anxiety, and
frustration. Winner describes this phenomenon as human morality corruption. He explains that human
corruption is a direct result of material wealth. As a result, society is valuing materials over
relationships and experiences, therefore attempting to satisfy desires by obtaining more and more
goods. With the ever growing demand for material goods, technology is needed to maintain a speedy
production rate and get the goods that society so desperately want to them. Technology allows us to be
efficient and effective in the marketplace. With all the beneficial things that technology allows us to
do, it s also very easy to get consumed by its presence and let it control the way we get things done.
Technological innovations have completely changed the production process and the way we have
traditionally defined the word work. We have gotten to the point where if there is a flaw in
technological equipment, production shuts down and our systems spin out of whack. The expansion of
technology is running parallel to our growing desires for material goods. The illusion of unlimited
economic growth has created a society where enough is never enough. When that is the case producers
use technologies to maximize the output of their product in order to meet the growing demand, rather
than producing at optimal levels. Producers are constantly

The Center For Human Rights And Constitutional Law
Can the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law Help Lead a Path for Immigrants to Become
Active Citizens? Immigrants have faced many challenges when trying to become citizens of the
United States. These challenges began when the Immigration Act of 1882 was passed, which gave
authority to officials to deny access to the United States to anyone who was a criminal or who was
uneducated (Immigration Act). This made it very hard for people coming to America to become
citizens of the United States and even harder for them to become active citizens. Active citizens are
defined as people who participate in their government fully and are not limited to what they can do
legally in their community. Many people in the United States believe that all of immigrants rights
should be secure by law. The Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law is a foundation that
became unified in 1980, primarily focusing on the safety and security of immigrants, by providing
certain legal services. This non for profit organization provides education, support and training to
vulnerable families. These services are directed toward impoverished immigrant families and
immigrant families that need assistance in certain aspects of immigration law (Human Rights). By
providing these services, immigrants get one step closer to playing an active role in their community.

Results revealed discrepancy between both methods in evaluating adherence and suggested that
interpretation of compliance should not rely on one method, as there is no single objective and reliable
measure of compliance. Finally, it was suggested that adherence rate measured by tablet count was
comparable to adherence rate confirmed by both methods, and that almost half of patients assumed to
be medication adherent did achieve appropriate blood pressure control compared to only 14% of those
assumed not to be medication adherent [Onzeroot et al, 2010]. In summary, non compliance and
diversion may limit provision of OAT. While providing treatment via DoT can curb diversion, it may

British Mistakes During the Revolutionary War Essay example
British Mistakes during the Revolutionary War
December 17, 2012
Topic: Was American success in achieving independence due more to General Washington s strategic
skill or to British blunders?
While there are numerous contributing factors to America s success in achieving independence, the
most critical factor can be attributed to the series of British mistakes throughout the conflict. Prior to
the onset of the Revolutionary War, the British government faced serious challenges, both politically
and fiscally. The conclusion of the French and Indian War coupled with the fighting in Europe, India
and the West Indies, left Britain with considerable debt and with few to little allies. The British
government saw America as a way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both play a critical and equally important role in any campaign and during the American Revolution
both proved to be a detriment to the British forces.
From early on the British were confronted with serious challenges with providing provisions for
troops operating in America. During the war, British provisioning strategy relied heavily on
sustainment support to come from the homeland. The 3000 mile trip proved to a tactical hindrance in
feeding the troops as well as resupplying with ammunition, blankets, shoes and armament. Often
taking several months to arrive, the supplies arrived spoiled and unusable. Further amplifying the
issue, the U.S. Continental Congress authorized legal piracy which attributed to the seizing of over
300 British ships during the war.
In addition to the resupply of troops, insufficient and ineffective use of transportation resources
diminished British effectiveness on the battlefield. Due to poor planning and negligent communication
between commanders, the various transport agencies utilized to resupply the British army struggled
with prioritizing missions and did not effectively communicate with each other. In addition,
independent decisions were made to keep units on station to move troops vice sending back to
resupply. Misaligned campaign plans and the lack of communication and collaboration among
commanders

the sun is 1.39 million kilometers. The Sun s mass mostly contains hydrogen and helium.
The use of sunlight is to supply the needs of humans like energy is a primary source to survival on

from the sun into fuel and food. Most of our food and fuel are made through the sun with a process of
photosynthesis.
In early experiments a man name Joseph Priestley study the rays of the sun s energy onto mercuric
oxide and collected gas that was making heat from the sun rays and the mercuric oxide. In 1954 there
was a group named Association for Applied Solar Energy this group was made in Phoenix, Arizona.
This group publishes books about how students or people in general want to learn how the sun s
energy works. Most people go to this group for ideas to work on projects and other. The sun energy

Why Can Hipsters Be Considered A Counterculture
Hipsterism has become an extremely popular counterculture in society. According to Zev Borow, the
hipster culture primarily focuses on individuality , uniqueness , and free thinking (Borow). Hipsters
have also been known to have a passion for music, food, social life, and style. Although hipsters are
often misunderstood to some people in society, they love what they do and have fun while doing it
which is what matters the most. The hipster counterculture has had a huge impact on society by
providing a platform for people to express themselves.
The modern day hipster movement became popular in the early 90 s (Smith). This counterculture didn
t spring up overnight, hipsters were influenced by Revolutionary groups of the past ... Show more

The fact that the hipster counterculture was created for those who don t fit in or feel they don t acquire
a sense of belonging in a typical mainstream culture says something in itself (Mckenzie). One big
reason as to why hipsters has since become popular is because they provide a safe haven for those
who are fond of individuality and for those who don t affiliate with the mainstream crowd. Giving
them freedom to freely express themselves without societal pressures on them. Due to the hipsters
reject to traditional society, many critics have now attached negative connotations to the word.
Making anybody who claims to be a hipster looked down upon. Since then society has viewed hipsters
as arrogant, [demanding] and direct people that nobody like to associate with (Mckenzie). Along with
that hipsters are also viewed as people who give off the vibe that they just don t care (Fletcher).
Although, critics give hipsters many negative feedback, when you get to know a real hipster and not
some poser, they are actually down to earth, expressive people (Mckenzie). The hipsters way of life is
different from the norm making it more comfortable to people. Not always trying to fit in and trying to
be updated is a big stress relief off many people who chose to become

Displacement In The Kite Runner
Renowned psychologist Sigmund Freud utilized psychological analysis regarding people and their
reactions to anxiety arousing stimuli to discover that most often, people illustrate at least one of his
identified defense mechanisms in order to calm their conscience. These defense mechanisms can
easily be identified across various cultures and time periods and appear throughout various types of
literature. Particularly, Khaled Hosseini provides his protagonist, Amir, with numerous opportunities
to express defense mechanisms, specifically displacement, in his praised novel The Kite Runner.
Primarily, Amir tragically witnesses a group of boys brutally rape his Hazara, Hassan, and later
expresses his guilt regarding his own failure to act outward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Many times, when experiencing such a trauma, people or objects may develop a more profound
meaning to an individual than they previously possessed. According to psychologists, if one defends
their actions with displacement, they may allow others to become a symbol of their wrongdoings or
their aspirations (McLeod). This enables the struggling individual to channel their focus towards a
new symbol rather than towards what actually deserves the wrath of their spirit. Hosseini clearly
demonstrates this effect in his literature; Hassan rises above the immaturity and reaches out to Amir in
the months following his assault. Amir disregards Hassan s emotions and harasses him when they sit
together underneath a pomegranate tree. He begins taking his anger out on his Hazara, and [he] hit[s]
him with another pomegranate... Hit me back! [he] [spits]. Hit me back, goddamn you! (Hosseini 92).
In Amir s mind, Hassan embodies exactly what he strives to be: loyal, honest, and strong. His inability
to assume such a persona results in resentment toward Hassan and enables Hassan to symbolize Amir
s failure. Amir, yet again, displaces his unhappiness regarding his own actions upon Hassan by beating
him with the fruits, rather than damaging his own ego. Hence, Amir obviously responds to difficult
situations and his inner conflicts using displacement, because he channels the anger he

Expanding Our Lunch Period Essay
Expanding our Lunch Period
We re talking about our kids futures. Our schools need to be teaching our kids how to be healthy.
Nadine Burke Harris. Nadine Burke is an American pediatrician. She is the founder and CEO of the
Center for Youth Wellness. This facility focuses on children who have had bad childhood experiences.
Mrs. Harris is an educated woman on what children need to have in order to be healthy so we should
take her advice. A thirty minute lunch period is too short, therefore we should make it longer.
Students cannot finish their lunch in the amount of time we are given which causes us to be wasteful.
Since lunch is only thirty minutes, I do not have enough time to finish my lunch. For example, if I
have a sandwich in my lunch, I end up throwing at least half of it into the garbage. Throwing half of
your lunch out is not only wasting the food, but the money you spent. If my dad knew how much of
my lunch I wasted he would not be happy because he is buying my food. Children in Africa don t have
enough food to nourish their bodies, meanwhile we are wasting perfectly good food that could save a
child s life in need of food. Every 5 seconds a child dies due to hunger and 1.3 billion tons of food is
wasted every year around the globe (in text citation). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their friends. The people who choose to talk to their friends throw out over half their lunch which
should not happen because Bob and Marianne but their time into making it. Most of my friends are in
different classes than me so lunch is the only time I get to socialize with them during school.
Socializing with friends at lunch instead of during class will help students focus and get their work
done. Expanding our lunch period would also give our teachers more time to eat their food

Pros And Cons Of Transgender Bathrooms
The superintendent in Missoula, Mark Thane, had said that the letter from Obama s administration to
public schools are able to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms matching the gender of
them. So they could pick their own gender and use whichever bathrooms, and will not have an impact
for the district. Personally, I think that this is terrible, having a transgender bathroom. You were either
born a boy, or a girl. I just think that you should not be born one thing and then change into something
totally different. Also, have your rights and get a bathroom to where anyone could use it. It s wrong
because someone could say they are transgender, even if they aren t, and then they could.. Who knows
what. Having these bathrooms were in

Comparing Frankenstein And Plutarch s Books
Education is imperative to our understanding of the world and the relationships we have with others.
With this in mind, it is not surprising that Mary Shelly included the monster educating himself in the
book of Frankenstein . The monster became educated through books that he discovered while hiding
at the DeLacey s household; however, the information contained in those books were used justify his
revengeful and hateful actions. The way the monster interpreted each of the four stories contributed to
the development of his ideologies about mankind. Since it was interpretation that led to his demise,
one might question what would happen if the books by which this monster educated himself were

Education sets the foundation for our ideologies; therefore, what we are taught influences our beliefs.
In Frankenstein, the monster s interpretation of the four works led him to a thirst for revenge. Since
his books had main ideas filled with despondency, culpability, relative truth, and gloom, the monster
used them as verification for his actions. He may have been created as a monster on the outside;
however, his interpretation of the material he educated himself with turned him into a monster on the
inside as well. If he would have read some of the stories that I replaced the originals with, the story
would have taken a different turn. This comes to show that education is the key to our actions. What

Symbolism In The Dream Of The Rood
The Dream of the Rood has been marveled as one of the finest religious poems from the Anglo Saxon
time period. The poem itself shows the contrast between the Pagan religion and Christianity and the
overlap of religious symbols between them. It follows the crucifixion of Jesus and the dreamer s
journey to finding faith. The rood is seen as the backbone of the crucifixion and is depicted as being
praised more than Christ. Using the literary devices of kenning and alliteration the author highlights
the heroic nature of the rood, the dreamer s gradual progression to optimism and the struggle of the
people of the time to remove Pagan traditions in literature. The literary device kenning is a compound
word built of a determinant and a base word. The base word represents the noun that the author
replaces and the determinant gives the base word its particular quality. Kennings are used to replace
simple nouns with descriptive, poetic comparisons and images. Throughout Dream of the Rood
kennings create a vivid image that, besides describing the noun in an expressive way, expresses the
heroic, strong nature of the rood and the struggle and pain of the crucifixion.
In line 144, the author uses the kenning gallows tree to describe the rood after the crucifixion. The
base word of gallows tree is tree and the determinant is gallows. Using the word base word tree is
literal in this kenning. The rood was once a strong, proud tree in the forest. It was scouted out by

  • 2. Women s Life Of Christianity The women in the history involved in the church played a variety of roles in their life of Christianity. During early Christianity, they were mostly health care givers, teachers, and missionaries. Until recent times, women were mostly excluded from higher church positions such as episcopal and clerical jobs within the churches. However a good number of women have been influential in the life of the church from contemporaries of Jesus, to subsequent saints, theologians, doctors of the church, missionaries, abbesses, nuns, mystics, founders of religious institutes, military leaders, monarchs and martyrs. Christianity from the start placed men in positions of authority in marriage, government, community, family, and pretty much anything. The religion only allowed membership of priests to males only. There was a wide following amount of women with an enhanced social status, while they believed and practiced Christianity, they were only allowed to follow the men. Later centuries, as religious groups of women and nuns flourished, women came to play an important role in Christianity through convents and abbeys and have continued through history to be active. They mostly participated in schools, hospitals, nursing homes and monastic settlements. A lot has changed in recent decades, with the ordination of women in some churches have become pretty popular. Discussions between each side always end up with different ideas about the following: Time, Costs, Safety, Fun factor. In the city, roads are narrow with no more than three lanes and filled with traffic lights and stop signs, because of that cars usually get held up by traffic and leads to congestion. This phenomenon usually leads to an effect commonly called late to work . With that in mind, motorcycle commuting saves time because they are allowed to filter traffic in a congested condition (different rules may apply for different countries). • 4. The Struggles And Inequalities Of Mexican Americans In the educational setting, Mexican Americans have faced discrimination, segregation, and inequality for many years. This paper discusses the struggles and inequalities that Mexican Americans have faced in education. I will focus on different educational time periods and discuss the problems and struggles that occurred in those time periods. The time periods that I give focus to include education in the Spanish Mexican era (1519 1848), education and early Anglo rule in the Southwest (1836 1890), the expansion of American education (1890 1960), and education in the contemporary period (1960 present). Education in the Spanish Mexican era lasted from 1519 until 1848. During this period, education occurred in informal and formal settings and was aimed towards the Indian population, who were Spanish subjects. Education in informal settings was the general norm and the most important informal settings were missions, presidios, and civilian settlements. The purpose of educating the Indians was to substitute their identity with a Spanish one and to also teach them the acceptance of their social relegation. The way the Spanish did this was by teaching the Indians literacy, music, the Catholic faith, Spanish manners, and by repressing their indigenous religious and social beliefs (Kloosterman 2). Education and the early Anglo rule in the Southwest lasted from 1836 until 1890. From 1836 to about 1850, formal education took place in schools that were founded by the Catholic Church. ... Federal funding hastened the development of polio vaccine as well as many other vaccines to prevent communicable diseases. An editorial for the Life Sciences Institute written by Richard Lempert and Jack Dixon in 2001 states, what is clear is the fact that without federal funding the progress of understanding the properties of stem cells will be much slower. Given the current public opinion surveys on the subject of stem cell research, one may argue that many citizens feel there is a need to accelerate progress rather than impede it. Many scientists believe that federal funding is also critical to ensure the oversight that will be necessary for expanding stem cell research. Additionally, as climate change worsens on Earth and the human population continues to grow, the idea of moving out of Earth and beginning fresh becomes more and more appealing. Transporting so much cargo, even if some is reusable across missions, isn t Earth independent. This requires being fully dependent on the sun and Martian resources for everything from food to fuel and building materials. This is challenging because most forms of life are unable to survive in a Mars like environment without assistance. However, research at Cambridge has found that Mars contains the resources to sustain cyanobacteria, which could potentially make it possible to sustain other forms of life on Mars. Perhaps most importantly, cyanobacteria can perform photosynthesis, which makes oxygen production possible (Verseux et al., 2015). Verseux determined that sustaining a Mars crew for a year solely on Earth food would require the transportation of an extra 29 mt of supplies, which is extremely expensive. The symbiotic relationship between plants and cyanobacteria could be used to grow food, and cyanobacteria can be directly used as feed for fish, which could be an effective protein source (Verseux et al., 2015). Influence of Religion on Society during the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Centuries The undeniable power, force, and influence of religion stand out throughout history. However, according to J. In fact, one of Christopher Columbus s motives for sailing westward to India was to open up opportunities to take the Christian gospel to the heathen (Allen Allen 23). Religion also brought a new structure to households. Elders were not only parents, but they also became teachers and role models for their children (12). This became obvious in the movie Joan of Arc, where the majority of dinner conversations related to their religious beliefs, as it was important to pass on the importance and need for religion to the future generations. Unity was a very powerful tool during this time period because power came in numbers. This was obvious when Joan gathered the community and convinced the people to defend their beliefs and fight back against the English. Since the people were united in their faith, it was much easier to defend their territories and beliefs. Thus, religion had tremendous positive effects. We all know a person who looks very confident and put together on the outside, but a conversation with them reveals that much is lacking in their personality. Similarly, commercials can appear fun or exciting, but upon further inspection it is greatly lacking in depth. Because of this, creating commercials is a balance between providing information and keeping the viewers engaged. The process isn t simply writing a script containing only style and no substance, or one with only substance and no style. With the former, a commercial could capture the audience s attention, but provides no supporting information; the latter, provides an excessive amount of information, but does not seize the viewers. Creating commercials pines for the utmost balance; if the balance is off by a fraction, it could mean the difference between a million dollars or zero. The Old Spice Scent Vacation commercial sits atop the pinnacle of this balance. It was made to advertise their new collection of scents ranging from the scenic beaches of Fiji to the snowy peak of Denali (Mt. McKinley). This can be a severe problem if the lower teeth hit the roof of the mouth (Wiring par. 7). This suggests that in a certain case of a deep bite, orthodontic braces are the best method to treat this situation. • 44. Displacement In The Kite Runner Renowned psychologist Sigmund Freud utilized psychological analysis regarding people and their reactions to anxiety arousing stimuli to discover that most often, people illustrate at least one of his identified defense mechanisms in order to calm their conscience. These defense mechanisms can easily be identified across various cultures and time periods and appear throughout various types of literature. Particularly, Khaled Hosseini provides his protagonist, Amir, with numerous opportunities to express defense mechanisms, specifically displacement, in his praised novel The Kite Runner. Primarily, Amir tragically witnesses a group of boys brutally rape his Hazara, Hassan, and later expresses his guilt regarding his own failure to act outward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many times, when experiencing such a trauma, people or objects may develop a more profound meaning to an individual than they previously possessed. According to psychologists, if one defends their actions with displacement, they may allow others to become a symbol of their wrongdoings or their aspirations (McLeod). This enables the struggling individual to channel their focus towards a new symbol rather than towards what actually deserves the wrath of their spirit. Hosseini clearly demonstrates this effect in his literature; Hassan rises above the immaturity and reaches out to Amir in the months following his assault. Amir disregards Hassan s emotions and harasses him when they sit together underneath a pomegranate tree. He begins taking his anger out on his Hazara, and [he] hit[s] him with another pomegranate... Hit me back! [he] [spits]. Hit me back, goddamn you! (Hosseini 92). In Amir s mind, Hassan embodies exactly what he strives to be: loyal, honest, and strong. His inability to assume such a persona results in resentment toward Hassan and enables Hassan to symbolize Amir s failure. Amir, yet again, displaces his unhappiness regarding his own actions upon Hassan by beating him with the fruits, rather than damaging his own ego. Hence, Amir obviously responds to difficult situations and his inner conflicts using displacement, because he channels the anger he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Expanding Our Lunch Period Essay Expanding our Lunch Period We re talking about our kids futures. Our schools need to be teaching our kids how to be healthy. Nadine Burke Harris. Nadine Burke is an American pediatrician. She is the founder and CEO of the Center for Youth Wellness. This facility focuses on children who have had bad childhood experiences. Mrs. Harris is an educated woman on what children need to have in order to be healthy so we should take her advice. A thirty minute lunch period is too short, therefore we should make it longer. Students cannot finish their lunch in the amount of time we are given which causes us to be wasteful. Since lunch is only thirty minutes, I do not have enough time to finish my lunch. For example, if I have a sandwich in my lunch, I end up throwing at least half of it into the garbage. Throwing half of your lunch out is not only wasting the food, but the money you spent. If my dad knew how much of my lunch I wasted he would not be happy because he is buying my food. Children in Africa don t have enough food to nourish their bodies, meanwhile we are wasting perfectly good food that could save a child s life in need of food. Every 5 seconds a child dies due to hunger and 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted every year around the globe (in text citation). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 46. Pros And Cons Of Transgender Bathrooms The superintendent in Missoula, Mark Thane, had said that the letter from Obama s administration to public schools are able to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms matching the gender of them. So they could pick their own gender and use whichever bathrooms, and will not have an impact for the district. Personally, I think that this is terrible, having a transgender bathroom. You were either born a boy, or a girl. I just think that you should not be born one thing and then change into something totally different. Also, have your rights and get a bathroom to where anyone could use it. It s wrong because someone could say they are transgender, even if they aren t, and then they could.. Who knows what. • 47. Comparing Frankenstein And Plutarch s Books Education is imperative to our understanding of the world and the relationships we have with others. With this in mind, it is not surprising that Mary Shelly included the monster educating himself in the book of Frankenstein . The monster became educated through books that he discovered while hiding at the DeLacey s household; however, the information contained in those books were used justify his revengeful and hateful actions. The way the monster interpreted each of the four stories contributed to the development of his ideologies about mankind. Since it was interpretation that led to his demise, one might question what would happen if the books by which this monster educated himself were exchanged with different books. If the books were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Education sets the foundation for our ideologies; therefore, what we are taught influences our beliefs. In Frankenstein, the monster s interpretation of the four works led him to a thirst for revenge. Since his books had main ideas filled with despondency, culpability, relative truth, and gloom, the monster used them as verification for his actions. He may have been created as a monster on the outside; however, his interpretation of the material he educated himself with turned him into a monster on the inside as well. If he would have read some of the stories that I replaced the originals with, the story would have taken a different turn. This comes to show that education is the key to our actions. • 49. Symbolism In The Dream Of The Rood The Dream of the Rood has been marveled as one of the finest religious poems from the Anglo Saxon time period. The poem itself shows the contrast between the Pagan religion and Christianity and the overlap of religious symbols between them. It follows the crucifixion of Jesus and the dreamer s journey to finding faith. The rood is seen as the backbone of the crucifixion and is depicted as being praised more than Christ. Using the literary devices of kenning and alliteration the author highlights the heroic nature of the rood, the dreamer s gradual progression to optimism and the struggle of the people of the time to remove Pagan traditions in literature. The literary device kenning is a compound word built of a determinant and a base word. The base word represents the noun that the author replaces and the determinant gives the base word its particular quality. Kennings are used to replace simple nouns with descriptive, poetic comparisons and images. Throughout Dream of the Rood kennings create a vivid image that, besides describing the noun in an expressive way, expresses the heroic, strong nature of the rood and the struggle and pain of the crucifixion. In line 144, the author uses the kenning gallows tree to describe the rood after the crucifixion. The base word of gallows tree is tree and the determinant is gallows. Using the word base word tree is literal in this kenning. The rood was once a strong, proud tree in the forest. It was scouted out by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
