Pet Peeve Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Pet Peeve" can be both challenging and intriguing. The
difficulty lies in the subjective nature of pet peeves – those seemingly trivial annoyances that
vary greatly from person to person. One person's pet peeve might be another's daily routine,
making it a task to strike a balance between relatability and uniqueness in the essay.
To begin with, identifying a personal pet peeve that is not only interesting but also provides
ample material for discussion can be a daunting task. The chosen peeve should be something that
resonates with the audience and allows for a genuine exploration of emotions and experiences.
This requires introspection and the ability to articulate those subtle irritations that may seem
inconsequential but have a significant impact on one's daily life.
Moreover, structuring the essay can be challenging. Balancing the personal narrative with
broader implications and perhaps even incorporating humor or wit to engage the reader requires
a careful hand. The challenge lies in making the essay universally appealing while still
maintaining a personal touch, fostering a connection with the audience.
Additionally, avoiding clichГ©s and expressing oneself in a unique and compelling way is
crucial. Since pet peeves are often commonplace, the danger of falling into well-worn phrases
and expressions is real. It demands a creative effort to present the information in a fresh and
interesting manner, capturing the reader's attention from start to finish.
In conclusion, while writing a "Pet Peeve Essay" may initially seem like a simple task, the
intricacies lie in the subtleties of personal experiences, relatability, and the challenge of engaging
a diverse audience. Navigating through these challenges requires a thoughtful and creative
approach to transform an everyday annoyance into a compelling piece of writing.
And for those seeking assistance with essays or looking for more examples, various resources are

The Road At The Intersection Of S.h
Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people s daily
routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all
attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety,
cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded
activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the
feeder roadat the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe s
and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a
toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short
distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially,
during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy,
and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I
myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not
become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection.
Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was
totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my
community.
S.H. 249 South is the main problem, it often gets backed up past the entire Lowe s
parking lot. This road consists of three lanes: the far left lane being a turn only lane,
the middle lane being a lane that turns left and goes straight, and the far
Essay about Significance of Jamestown
What is the significance of Jamestown? Jamestown introduced slavery into English
speaking North America; it became the first of England s colonies to adopt a
representative government; and it was the site of the first clashes between whites and
Indians over territorial expansion. Jamestown began the tenuous, often violent,
mingling of different peoples that came to embody the American experience. Dr.

In the 1400 s Europe had very little land for agriculture and settlement. The
Europeans desired riches such as gold, luxury food items, land, and timber. None of

In 1585 he settled about 100 men on Roanoke Island, but they did not settle and
returned a year later. In 1587 he sent another group to settle that included a number of
women and children. A supply ship was sent to the settlers but was delayed by the
attack of the Spanish Armada on England in 1588. Help did not arrive until 1590, but
it was too late and there was no one to be found. The attack of the Spanish Armada
was spurred by King Phillip the 2nd. His motives were religious as England seemed
committed to Protestantism as well as for economic and political reasons. An
English fleet of 197 ships were able to conquer the invasion and led to Spain no
longer being able to prevent the English from settling in the New World.
The plan at this time was for English colonies to go to America to spread the
Protestant religion and expand the market for English woolens; this would bring in
valuable tax revenues. The American forests could be used for timber and naval
stores to build a bigger navy and merchant marine. Queen Elizabeth did not condone
this as she was too cautious and so settlement was not acted upon until after her
death in 1603. The new king James the 1st granted licenses for two groups of
English merchants to colonize Virginia. The first charter revealed the motives of the
king when it spoke of spreading Christianity and bringing the savages to civility
along with the rights to dig, mine and search for all matters of gold,
Cry the Beloved Country Movie versus Film Essay
Cry, the Beloved Country is a moving story of the Zulu pastor Stephen Kumalo and
his son Absalom. They live in an Africa torn apart by racial tensions and hate. It is
based on a work of love and hope, courage, and endurance, and deals with the
dignity of man. The author lived and died (1992) in South Africa and was one of the
greatest writers of that country. His other works include Too Late the Phalarope, Ah,
but Your Land Is Beautiful, and Tales from a Troubled Land.
The book was made into a movie starring James Earl Jones and Richard Harris. The
book takes you to South Africa, where the land itself is the essence of a man. It as if
the mountains, soaring high above the clouds, are the high moments in life, and the
valleys are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At times, sections of dialogue are lifted directly from the books pages. More
importantly, however, Paton s themes are brought home with devastating, deep
impact through a production that captures the book s essence as close as it recounts
the narrative. There isn t a false note in Cry, The Beloved Country. Every scene in the
film is perfectly executed with great composition.
Cry, The Beloved Country is the first movie about racial relations in South Africa I
personally have seen which trusts the viewer s intelligence enough not to set up one
or more characters as a straw man to represent everything evil about apartheid.
Technically, the time period of the movie predates the formal institutionalization of
apartheid, but I still think the point s valid. Based on Alan Paton s 1946 novel, this
film gives us a loving but painful look at a society headed toward increasing
division and violence. James Earl Jones and Richard Harris give great
performances as fathers who are tested by the unhappy fates of their respective
sons. When these two have their first major scene together, we can t help but feel
compassion over the emotion involved. And later, when they eye each other while
taking refuge from a storm in a leaky church, they become an picture for two
different and wary tribes sharing a common home. The meat of Cry, the Beloved
Country concerns how events in the wake of the shooting transform the lives of
Stephen Kumalo and James Jarvis. Each is forced to abandon their

Counter-Publicity
It is very important for Christians to adapt to modern American society, especially
when it comes to things like media, and the ever popular political correctness. In
chapter seven, the authors focus on how those who are focused on rhetoric need to
engage in public entertainment, especially when speaking publicly. Public speaking
is not simply spoken words but the act of the speech, or other forms of media, the
agent, or the person who communicates the artifact, the agency or the means of
communicating the act, such as a concert, or public presentation. These critics need
to also be aware of the background or scene behind the act, as well as the purpose or
intent of the message. It needs some form of significance (134). By using these steps,
the critic can effectively... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In chapter nine, the authors focus on how postmodernists believe metanarratives such
as shown in Christian beliefs are oppressive (161). Postmodernists believe the
Christian views are close minded and are not tolerant of others views (162). Many
Christians believe postmodernists are right, and ultimately fall into the trap of
worldly conformity. However, in some ways postmodernists are right about Christian
views, such as Christian beliefs cannot remove all uncertainty from people. Because
of human limitations, there will always be an air of doubt and not everything can be
proven through metanarratives (163). However, postmodernist believe that truth is
culturally relative, meaning that truth can continue to change based on culture (167).
Christians know that one truth is consistent throughout all cultures. Christians need to
guard their hearts in these times of change in truth and
Play-Based Learning Analysis
As you drive past a playground, you hear the laughter and loud voices of children.
In that exact moment, you may not be aware that they are in fact developing crucial
skills that will be utilized throughout their entire life. It seems as if something so
simple as playing with peers is incapable of occupying such influential power.
Conversely, playbased learningpresents endless possibilities and enhancements for
children. Encouraging mental growth and providing an environment to do so at a
young age is imperative. Children learn in various ways, but play based learning
tends to produce higher motivation, as well as implant vital life skills because it
provides opportunity for indirect instruction. Education is commonly viewed as

The many different types of play and components that can be shifted around, provide
a variety of beneficial experiences for the kids. They are enjoying this learning
process and are unaware of the impact it will have on their current and future lives.
Finding one method of instruction that hits all of the developmental goals is difficult,
but play based learning touches on social, emotion, cognitive, and even physical. This
method of teaching is a perfect match for the youth because of the timing in which
they are obtaining symbolic thinking processes. Play based learning is a successful
strategy that prepares children for the future by embedding essential life
Afro-Futurism Analysis
Through a number of important essays, Marleen Barr s Afro Futurism opens up a
conversation about racial autonomy and collective agency in a literary space that
seems to have been reluctant to even whisper about such things: namely, Science
Fiction. Maybe that is not all that surprising given the genre s predominantly
white(ned?) literary categorization that, while it has no outright barred people of
color, has not in turn seemed to make any meaningful space for them, either .
Indeed, there is such an implicit racial claim of science fiction by White Culture
that when a person of color is cast in one of the starring roles of a major Science
Fiction production oh, let s say Star Wars: The Force Awakens that there is a
massive outcry and calls for boycott and existential fears of white erasure. Yet,
despite this struggle for ownership, the fit between Science Fiction and people of
color appears to be an intuitive one. Mark Dery ( Black to the Future ) poignantly
points out, effectively noting that African Americans are always already seen and
constructed as Other/Alien (8) . Is that all that surprising? Not... Show more content

(This will become a smooth transition into the next chapter which deals more
broadly with the reclaiming of forgotten histories.) This version of Afro futurism
steers Science Fiction in a direction it seemingly did not know it needed to go: a
science factionalist therianthrophy, or an anti Cartesian synthesis of mind and body
at the site of the exploited female body of color. Although the characters she
references use their abilities as means of escape, it s important to note here they are
embracing (as opposed to revert back to) animal shape shifting (in other words,
effectively curtailing the black woman as animalistic
Advantages Of Organic Food
Why is it that organic foods are more costly than conventional foods, financially or
health wise? Consumers should not be charged a higher price for organically grown
foods in order to eat healthier. Choosing to eat foods whether organic or conventional
should be equal in cost to the consumer. I won t go in the direction of the whole paleo
caveman thing but when you think about early man or our ancestors consuming
foods in its pure, natural, organic state without concern of ingesting potentially
harmful chemicals or excessive costs, don t you wonder where things went awry?
Prior to the Twentieth Century all food was organic. Organic in terms of food, simply
means that the product or its ingredients were produced without routine inputs of
synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, chemical preservatives or irradiated (radiation
exposure) (5). Then along came the discovery and invention of synthetic fertilizers
and pesticides in 1920 s forever changing the costs, development and... Show more

Read the labels and research their source. Consumers may be aware there is a
choice between organic foods and conventional foods but they may not realize
exactly what this entails. For instance, facts such as the government having an
established limit for safe amount of pesticides and allowed residues used in foods
growth process or the USDA s food safety warning that organic foods lack of
preservatives may make them vulnerable to bacteria and parasites. The question of
whether organic foods are healthier for you than conventional foods is yet to be
determined as there have not yet been sufficient scientific studies to prove this one
way or another. In determining the healthier alternative common sense should come
into play. Organic foods are relatively free of herbicides and pesticides which are
dangerous to human health, whereas conventional foods are not. Therefore wouldn t
it be logical to avoid these

lack of electronic devices that are being used during these times. 3 in 84 students used

In the hours leading up to the recommended bedtime for ages 14 to 15, 10pm,
usage is at its peak, this then decreases as it gets later. This could be because
limited Year 9 students are awake during these hours of the night and checking
their device. Despite the occasional outlier during the hours of 11pm and 3am,
most students restarted using their devices between 4am 7am. We can connect this
information to whether students check their devices immediately upon waking
where majority of students said they sometimes checked their device upon waking.
This could be why usage restarts because 7am is when most students wake up.
Refer to Figure 4, appendix 1 to see a visual representation of this data. 40.62

time intervals. The is a relativity low number considering that it was within a three
hour time period. The mean is so low due to the copious amounts of zeros in the
data set. This has occurred due to the minimal usage between the hours of 11pm and

Major Events of the First Crusade In 1095 CE Pope Urban II launched the First
Crusade to recapture the Holy Land of Jerusalem, and restore Christian supremacy in
Anatolia (modern day Turkey) and the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, and the
Sinai Peninsula) (First Crusade). The cause for such an aggressive movement in the
region is debated amongst historians. However, mainstream theories assert that the
First Crusade was a direct result of rising Islamic confrontation in Anatolia (The
First Crusade). Christians had not been in control of the Holy Land for over 400
years (Timelines of History). Though, as Islam crept into Europe through Spain and
the East, Christian grip on Europe was threatened, and thus, the First crusade was
launched (First Crusade). At first, the goals of the First Crusade were widespread.
Christians of all backgrounds set out on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in order to
strengthen their ties to tradition (The First Crusade). The Byzantine Emperor Alexios
I Komnenos requested the help of Pope Urban II to repel invading Seljuk Turks from
Eastern Anatolia, and return Byzantine land to Byzantine control (First Crusade).
However, the goal which eventually dominated the others was the reconquest of the
Holy City of Jerusalem, and its surrounding areas (First Crusade). Pope Urban II
cleverly noticed that the first two goals would rally enough support in order for him
to concur Jerusalem and restore
Family in Night by Ellie Wiesel
What does the word family mean to you? In my opinion, family means everything
to me. It s the people I knew since I was born, who I know I can turn to anytime
needed. Everyone has their own definition of family, it can be positive, negative, or
even both. In the world s society everyone is born into a family, it can be a traditional,
a un blood related, or an extended family. No matter how well a family relationship
can be there is no such thing as a perfect family. In many classic pieces of literature,
many writers use themes of conflict between the children and their parents. It can
be conflicts towards each other or conflicts the family experiences together. In
many well know novels, many characters from tragic events of abuse, cruelty, and
negligent events kept their courage to survive through terrible events. The story of
Ellen Foster Kaye Gibbons takes a reader inside a story of young orphaned girl, who
is passed down to every family until the she is able to find the perfect one she fit
into. In the classic novel Night author Elie Wieselwrites a historical piece about a
young boy s experience in a concentration camp. Losing half of his family the
young boy Eliezer has to fight with his father through suffering tactics from the
Nazis. The classic play Romeo and Juliet , William Shakespeare writes a tragic
piece about two young lovers being forced to disobey family orders to be with each
other. In all three pieces of literature, the characters struggle

Societal Injustices Upon Women
Human rights are women s rights, and women s rights are human rights (Hillary
Clinton). This is a very important message that can be applied throughout history to
prove the significance of women during time periods in which they were viewed as
substantially lesser than men. Over the years, women have grown independent,
fighting for their rights, changing the gender norms placed on society and the
expectations women are forced to uphold. To successfully do this, women have
evolved their mindset on how life should run to accommodate for gender equality.
This evolution in the mindset of women is the ... Show more content on

She decides that she will become an independent woman, allowing her to not be
tethered down by the conservative views of her husband as well. She faked being
a part of society and was becoming herself and daily casting aside that fictitious
self which we assume like a garment with which to appear before the world (Chopin
108). Although she despised society itself, she couldn t leave at first due to all the
material and emotional tethers she had to the world, such as her kids, her
husband, her estate. Later on however, she slowly started to detach herself from
these tethers. Edna also gets the advice at one point that, The bird that would soar
above the level plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad
spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to earth. (Chopin
138). The passage proves exactly how hard it is for a woman to be independent.
Any man can soar, regardless of how weak his wings are, yet for a woman, she
must have the wit of a hawk and the strength of an eagle to truly soar past society
and its stereotypes. This also proves a great example of imagery s effect as the
analogy to the bird and the descriptive words such as soar and prejudice induce the
reader to imagine an image in which this is occurring, the adjectives and the
romantic style of literature aiding in the vision that is created. In The House on
Mango Street , Esperanza is often objectified and is viewed as
Analysis Of The Dark Knight
The caped crusader is one of the most famous super heroes ever. Bruce Wayne is the
man behind the mask that is a debonair, successful heir to his family s business.
From his bat cave to his black suit, Batman is recognized as being a superhero that
metes out justice with fairness and efficiency, but what would be said if Batmanand
Wayne was a superhero with a mental disorder? Post traumatic stress disorder is a
trauma stress disorder that occurs frequently in combat veterans, natural disaster
survivors, and even motor vehicle accidents (Nevid, Rathus, and Greene 149).
The Dark Knight is the second movie of a trilogy about the caped crusader himself,
Batman. The Dark Knight begins with Bruce Wayne, a rich heir to Wayne
Enterprises and now head man for the business, portraying a busy life while
secretly fighting crime in Gotham city as Batman. Bruce Wayne has a love
interest in a woman and childhood friend of Rachel that was introduced in the first
movie of the trilogy. Rachel is aware that Wayne is Batman. Bruce keeps from
being in a relationship with Rachel due to the risks to her life if someone were to
find out that he is Batman. Also, it was to save her from heartache knowing that
each night he goes out could be the last he lives. The main antagonist of the movie
is the villain Joker. Not much of a storyline about his past is present in the movie
and he is mostly an enigma. The main things we learn about the Joker s past are
from a scene with Wayne in his bat cave

In order to test the claim that ginger root tea can be used in order to relieve
heartburn. I would start by using the scientific method in order to see if gingerroots
relieves heartburns. So by observing their hypothesis they state that heartburn is
caused by excess stomach acid and that gingerroot tea works just as rolaids which is
an antacids that neutralize stomachacids to relieve heartburn. So knowing that acids
produce H+ in aqueous solutions and bases produce OH in aqueous solutions. With
that said Acid + Base neutralized reaction. I would basically compare both the
gingerroot tea and the Rolaids tablet. Then place the base in a beaker, so have two

Paradox of the Republic
Paradoxes are ideas that seem to be in opposition to one another but are mutually
needed to function. In Plato s Republic he discusses several paradoxes. While
reading The Republic we can see which side of these paradoxes Plato favors. We
find which side he feels should be stressed so that we may live in a reasonable and
safe society and be better human beings. There are three categories in which these
paradoxes have been divided into: ethical, metaphysical and political. Plato was a
legendary Athenian philosopher. His main influence was his teacher, Socrates, whom
he thought died unjustly. The Republic was written in dialogues narrated by Socrates.
These dialogues were Socrates teachings as best Plato could remember them. His...

When Plato was thinking out his Republic he felt society took president over the
individual. The whole is greater than it s parts , he said. However, Plato also said,
you need to balance the order of society with the rights of the individual. Plato felt
in a natural state people would war against on another. That is why a civil or social
contract is needed to keep man from killing one another. Man would then enter into
this social contract for protection, to trade goods and services with others and
simply to have their needs taken care of. For this social contract to be successful
each individual must have a responsibility and an obligation to his fellow man and
follow the rules of the contract. In this way the individual will gain but society
will prevail. It is a give and take proposition. People are working for the benefit of
society and individuals benefit from working for the society. Plato wanted to set
up an interdependent society where we would service one another with
competence, where each one would better themselves by working for the society
and fulfilling different needs. Everyone would be working for the betterment of
society and thereby helping themselves. We are stronger together than we are
individually. In the paradox of order and change, Plato favors order. In Plato s
Republic he speaks of a specific social order and feels that there are absolute laws and
reasons without exceptions to keep that order. He feels

This is the shocking reality of the contemporary dowry marriage in India and the
frightening experience faced by many young women. Each year, thousands of these
young women are murdered, through what has been dubbed bride burnings ,[4] by
husbands and in laws seeking increased dowry demands.
While the practice of dowry is commonly perceived by the international community
as one of Indian custom and culture, in its current form it is more accurately
described as a social phenomenon believed to bestow a greater social status upon
the recipient. Originally designed to be a gift given out of affection at the time of a
daughter s marriage, today the dowry system has turned into a perverted version of
an ancient and respected custom. It has now become an obligatory transaction that
places a heavy impact on a family s financial and social status and a young wife s
welfare. In the last four decades, dowry negotiations between the families of brides
and grooms have escalated into continuing demands even after the agreed upon
amount is given. Even more disquieting are the increasing numbers and the ways in
which young wives are killed when their husbands and in laws are dissatisfied with
the amount of dowry given or when additional demands are not met. Frequently, as
the violence and abuse escalates, if the young wife is not murdered she is driven to

The Black Cat Unreliable Narrator
Not as Simple as Black and White
An unreliable narrator is a character that is untrustworthy, either due to madness,
alcoholism, or a multitude of other characterizations that might cause one to
constantly need to question the narration. The author of The Black Cat , Edgar Allan
Poe, uses this type of narrator in this short story When reading his works, one must
always be on the lookout for inconsistencies, errors, and improbabilities. This forces
the reader to read critically and to actively challenge the words being read. In this
story, the narrator has been made unreliable to invite the reader to acknowledge the
infinite enigma that is the human mind.

First, he describes a drunken fit of rage in which he deliberately cut one of [his
most beloved cat s] eyes from [it s] socket (Page 2). Then, despite claiming to feel
extreme grief, he describes how he in cool blood, slipped a noose about [the cat s]
neck and hung it to the limb of a tree (Paragraph 9). He validates these actions by
claiming it was this unfathomable longing of the soul to vex itself to offer
violence to its own nature to do wrong for the wrong s sake only that urged [him]

unoffending brute [the cat] (Paragraph 9). The third act of violence was the
murder of the narrator s wife. He aimed for the cat and, when his wife inhibited the

blamed purely on an excess of alcohol, however much the narrator may attempt to
persuade the reader of his, due to the fact that he was only intoxicated during the first

reader, if one is questioning the stability of the narrator s mind, one must begin to

raise her children right after receiving her MSW. Approaching this we will assume
Helen practiced for several years while receiving her MSW. According to the
Developmental Perspective Helen does exhibit some level 2 counselor
characteristics, such as being overwhelmed by responsibility. We could address
some of her level 2 characteristics during supervision with some suggestions and
modeling skills to address those areas of limitation, such as developing
intervention plans. I would consider and supervise Helen as mostly a level 3,
conditional dependency, due to her previous experience and to build her
confidence while adjusting to returning the field after a long break. As her
supervisor it would be my job to support and assist her to eventually develop into a
level 4, master counselor. We would accomplish this by me being mostly in the role
of a peer, openly discussing cases and supporting Helen in her limitations. I would
confidently adjust my supervision style to accommodate Helen being between a
level 2 and level 3. Also, I would need to work through my own issues of feeling

I would help Helen reorient to practice by seeing myself as her teacher and asking
her what is her learning style. Once I know Helen s learning style we would create a
plan of action to help her be immersed back into practice. We would discuss if she
would benefit from shadowing and/or interviewing another counselor. I would
suggest appropriate trainings, webinars, workshops, provide handouts and books to
read. It would be important to help Helen learn from her mistakes, reminder her to be
patient as she reorients, and be creative and resourceful to build her
The Hero Of Jesus Christ
It is common for people to have a hero they admire and strive to be like. Often these
heroes are people such as athletes, celebrities, world leaders, and family members.
These ordinary people become heroes because of desirable attributes they exhibit.
These characteristics are ones that people can relate to, characteristics that give birth
to a desire to elevate oneself to be a heroto others. Such is my hero. My hero was
born long ago to two devoted parents that loved him dearly. Life was not easy for
him or his family; nevertheless, he grew up and became strong. Even though he
was the son of a lowly carpenter, he learned of his divine calling and rose to the
challenge that came with the call. The challenges that afflicted him in his life molded
him into the hero I see him to be. He is JesusChrist, a man with amazing attributes
and my hero. Christ had many great and marvelous attributes. He lived his entire
life by these attributes and encouraged others to develop these same values. He
magnified a way for others to find happiness and meaning. These attributes are the
reason Jesus Christ is my hero. One of Christ s greatest attributes is love. He loved
everyone. He loved the poor, the wealthy, the young, and the old. Through his
example, people around him felt more inclined to love. When an individual is filled
with love, they develop a strong desire to serve others. People sacrifice time and
resources to serve others less fortunate then themselves without thinking
Privacy Is One Of The Problems Of Media Privacy
Now a day, privacy is one of the problems of media ethics in our life. The Longman
dictionary defines privacy as the state of being able to be alone, not seen or heard by
other people, and free from public attention. We may recognize that it is simple to
keep privacy; nonetheless, journalists and people don t keep it even through they
know that it is important.
Furthermore, the tendency that it will be fine even if you do not keep privacy is
getting stronger year by year. One of the reasons is because technology is
developing rapidly in the world. This evidence is that a lot of people bring with
them their smart phones and computers to the evidence of this. Stefano Taddei said,
The results suggest practical implications for online social network providers, most
of all with regard to privacy policies in online environments (2013). In the future, the
providers will develop and affect us positive and negative through using technology.
I believe that privacy is most important for the future because privacy is the origin of
the media ethics, which is about indecency, control, and truthfulness. I think that
privacy is a problem of particular importance concerning human s virtue in this time.
First, the problem is indecency. Some argue that indecency in media encourages
people to mimic the behavior they see in the news stories from sensational movies.
They are prevalent to even children recently; moreover, these influences will remain
strong even when the children became
Racism And Personal Identity By Anna Deavere Smith
There has been always a belief that human races have distinctive characteristics that
determine their respective cultures. In most cases, the idea that one s race is
superior and is assumed to provide the right to rule or dominate others. There is also
the distinct personality in which people are concerned with the persisting entity to
particular individuals. The theme of racism and personal identity are evidenced in
the plays; Fires in the Mirror and Twilight: Los Angeles in various instances. In the
two plays, offensive and aggressive behaviors are demonstrated to members of
another racestemming from racism and the inferior belief of skin color. The issues of
racial discrimination happen in the two plays, and some people are treated less fairly
than others similar situation just because of their race, color, and ethnic origin.
Anna Deavere Smith uses the play Fires in the Mirror to show the audiences
different points of view, as well as, the opinions on the issue of the riot bases on two
sides. Each section of the play is centered on a different theme, but all mergers to one
theme of racism.
Through the words through the different interviews, Anna explores how and why
individuals signal their identities. She also explores how people perceive and also
respond to other people different from themselves. According to Smith, Anna (page 3,
1993) and the introduction of the play, it is voiced that My sense is that American

International Infrastructure Project Cost Estimating Work Breakdown Paul Hewitt,
International Project Estimating Limited Introduction Construction Cost Estimating
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) The term WBS has become a common term in
all fields related to Cost Engineering including Construction Cost Estimating,
Scheduling and Project Cost Control. A well defined WBS is the backbone of good
Construction Estimating Software and can take several forms including the
breakdown of items within an estimate, the layout of groups within a schedule or the
rollup of accounts within a cost report. It usually starts with a client s desire to

The current CSI MasterFormat в„ў 2004 Edition [1] comes closest to covering all the
scope of work found in the construction of Building Facilities and Site Work. It falls
short in addressing the unique requirements of estimators, schedulers and cost
engineers in identifying all phases of work included in major Infrastructure work
such as Build Own and Transfer (BOT) projects. This Standard Work Breakdown
attempts to format the project into a multi level WBS suited to estimate, schedule,
track cost and measure performance on international infrastructure projects. The

The Korean Wave
Trending Worldwide: Korean Wave

TRENDING WORLDWIDE: KOREAN WAVE Unlike in the past, Philippine
Media is now a combination of various Asian entertainments. It imports TV series
and movies from neighboring Asian countries. Imported movies are then dubbed in
Filipino and streamed in our country. ABS CBN, one of the top TV stations in the
country, started to explore foreign TV series last 2003. This was Meteor Garden, a
Taiwanese drama series. Because of the boom of the said series, GMA 7, a rival of
ABS CBN, made the same move. They also brought in various teleseryes from other
Asian countries. They were the first one to air Korean dramas. Although, both

Korean Towns brought by Korean diaspora in the Philippines provided additional
jobs for Filipinos. Also, Koreans seek to learn English in Philippines. Since the
Philippines is an English speaking country, anyone could teach basic English to
them. As the interest in Korean wave continues, the discrimination of zainichi or
the Korean residents in Japan decreases. Zainichi have closer affinity to Japan than
Korea because they were born and raised there. However, they are still
discriminated for being non Japanese national. But when the Korean culture started
to trend, the zainichis are now more appreciated. There is even a Zainichi character

Macbeth Fate Vs Free Will Essay
In Macbeth there is a question as to whether or not Macbeth is driven by fate or
free will. The three weird sisters approach Macbeth with prophecies that come true in
the end. It would appear that Macbeth is just following his destiny at first, since it
seems that fate is playing its part. However this changes as Macbethchanges, and it
shows us that he always had the ability to choose his own fate.
In Act I, the three witches visit Macbeth and Banquo. The weird sisters make three
predictions; Macbeth will become the Thane of Cawdor, he will become King, and
Banquo s sons will become king. Even though the witches did make these
prophecies, Macbeth s fate was not yet sealed. Later in the same scene, Ross and
Angus meet Macbeth. They tell Macbeth that he is now the Thane of Cawdor.
Macbeth then reflects on the predictions and says, Present fears are less than horrible
imaginings . Macbeth is relating his fear that he may have to do something unholy in
order to become king, but he hopes that it can come about by chance . Almost
immediately after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially the life of Macbeth was predominantly governed by fate, this was shown
in Act 1 Scene 3 when Macbeth became the Thane of Cawdor. The wicked sisters
foretold that Macbeth would become the Thane of Cawdor, and then it happened
soon after they said it would. Later in scene 2 Macbeth starts to take control over
his life. Macbeth starts to make decisions based on his own freewill and desires.
Macbeth killed the king with the desire to do so, he was not fated to kill the king,
he just perceived the message of the three witches in that way. The reason that I
decided to base my presentation on the idea of fate versus freewill is because of Act
1 scene 3 in Macbeth. More specifically the part where the weird sisters prophisiced
the future to Macbeth and Banquo.

Children s Knowledge Of Vocabulary
Language is a necessary tool to survive and function in this world, even for those who
are unable to speak at all. Early vocabulary skills are essential to success while in
school and afterwards. Parents play a major role in providing language skills. It has
been said that children s knowledge of vocabulary in early childhooddepends
exclusively on parents. Often, the skills of language, of a child are associated with
parent s education and income. This article expounds the study of how parent s
income or level of education are associated with the child s vocabulary. It explains
whether frequent or quality reading as well as child s interest in reading has any

Low income fathers usually used word such as who, what, where as complex
sentences while communicating with toddlers. The vocabulary skills of a child are
also associated with how often parents read books to them as well as the quality of
reading. It is important for both father and mother to read to their children every day
as this will not only help children to build their vocabulary, but it will also give the
ability to memories and fast learning skills. In addition to the frequent reading, the
quality of reading, which is included but not limited to talk about the text. If
someone is just reading the book word by word but does not ask questions or talk
extra about the text, it isn t sufficient enough for children to do better in
vocabulary. Thus both, the quality and frequent reading are far reaching aspects
for the growth of vocabulary among children. In this study of longitudinal
contributions to children s vocabulary, 26 Latino and 35 African American parents
and their toddlers were selected mainly based on their low income. Out of 61
families only 19% speak Spanish at home. The starting age of toddlers was 24
months. They were given one bag of books and two bags with toys and asked to
engage their children for ten minutes with each bag. This study was measured by how
often parents read to their children. The vocabulary assessment occurred when these

The Skills Approach Analysis of Angela Merkel Essay
The skills approach focuses on the ability to use one s knowledge and competencies
to accomplish a set of goals and objectives. In terms of these competencies, the skills
approach identifies three particular competencies that are related to strong leadership
which include: technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills. In terms of these
competencies, Angela Merkelhas demonstrated strong qualities, made influential
decisions, been elected through a public election process, and received numerous
accolades that indicate she has a high level of proficiency and effectiveness in all
three aforementioned competencies associated with the skills approach. The
leadership competency of technical skill can be defined as the knowledge about...

Related to politics, high conceptual skills involves begin about to use ideas and
policies to effectively guide a nation to future goals. Further, conceptual skills in
politics necessitate a need to be able to be able to effectively explain these ideas and
policies to other leaders and constituents. Chancellor Merkel displays high conceptual
skills, as exhibited by her current involvement in trying to alleviate the European debt
crisis. As noted in the New York Times recently, The Federal Constitutional Court in
Germany gave Chancellor Angela Merkel a significant victory on Wednesday in her
bid to master the debt crisis that has buffeted the Continent for years and endangered
its common currency, granting approval to one of the main pillars of her strategy
(Kulish). Further, Merkel possess the ability to explain her ideas effectively, which
can be show by her heavy involvement in negotiations for different debt relief plans
in this year s G8 summit (Rinke). Also, Lastly, the final competency identified by
the skills approach is human skills, which are the knowledge about, and ability to
work with people. Further, these skills help a leader to work effectively with
follower, peers, and superiors to accomplish the organizations goals (Northouse, pg

Human sex trafficking as defined by the United States Department of health and

Utilitarian And Deontological View Of Ethics
For this module 3 SLP, I will be discussing a moral issue in my workplace that I
have actually seen myself. Apart from describing the various details of the issue, I
will provide my position on the matter, as well as my reasoning for it. I will also that
the considerations of this issue, and explore how it is that they relate to the utilitarian
and deontological view of ethics. In doing so will cover who will be hurt, who will be
benefitted, who s rightsare involved, who has special duties pertaining to this issue,
and why I think that my position is the greatest good over the long haul. By
accomplishing this, my position and reasoning on the ensuing moral issue will be
better understood, allowing for a bigger and much more detailed picture of the
issue. The moral issue at my place of work that I have decided to talk about
involves when the life of a patient in a hospital should be allowed to pass. This is
an issue I have experienced firsthand. I was providing care for a patient who was
one hundred years old, could not communicate due to her fragility and advanced
stage dementia, and was effectively classified as failure to thrive, (meaning she
showed no signs of improvement and her condition was in a habitual state of
deterioration). The patient had no living wills or advance directives in place, which
are written, legal instructions regarding your preferences for medical care if you are
unable to make decisions for yourself. (Mayo Clinic, 2014) Since she did

Tom Scott and Tom First started Allserve, a floating convenience store serving boats
in the Nantucket Harbour during their summer holidays in college. After graduation,
during the winter of 1990, First recreated a peach fruit juice drink that he came
across in Spain and started a side business selling fresh juice. Everyone loved the
product and they went on to open the Allserve General Store on Nantucket s Straight
Wharf. They named the fruit juice Nantucket Nectars .
Scott and First invested their collective life savings of about $17,000 to contract a

Competition in the beverage industry is extremely intense. Competitors continually
introduce new innovative products and consumers are bombarded by numerous
choices and promotions. Nantucket Nectars has been successful with increasing
sales and continually innovating new products, and grown to a middle sized
company. This position proves to be a dangerous one as it does not possess the
financial strength of a large company but yet may not have the nimbleness and
innovativeness of a small company. In addition, the entrance of big players such as
Coke, Pepsi and Tropicana (Seagram) with strong financial standing may reduce their
revenue.
Furthermore, the past few years saw Nantucket maturing and it has begun to
stabilize as a company. This is a dangerous period for the company as they will
reach a crisis should they not undergo renewal in order to rejuvenate and stay
relevant as well as competitive.
Therefore, it will be advantageous for Nantucket Nectars to form strategic alliance in
order to leverage on the financial strength of its counterpart or parent company to
obtain shelf space in supermarket chains. With an extension of the distribution
channels, they would be able to gain a greater market share.
Should First and Scott sell Nantucket Nectars?
From the SWOT analysis, my recommendation would be for the founders to sell part
of their company. This will form a symbiotic relationship whereby Nantucket Nectars
can leverage on the financial
Homeland Security Vs Homeland Security
Much has been discussed about homeland security and homeland defense regarding
their differences and similarities, but regardless of how the two are related, the fact
remains that they both serve the purpose of protecting and defending America,
making our citizens safe, and to protect the integrity of our infrastructure, rendering
our nation a safe place to live and build family traditions. The ultimate purpose of
both Homeland Defense and Homeland Securityis to protect, defend, and assist with
the safety and security of the citizens of the United States. One purpose specifically
caters to the protection of our citizens in land and the other focuses on the protection
of citizens from overseas.
Homeland Defense operates within the United States and outside the United States to
provide critical protection to the country against terrorism. Homeland defense is the
task the military is handed outside of the United States. For the purpose of defending
and protecting our nation, the reason why military personnel are sent all over the
world to fight radical extremists who pose a threat to our nation. They also monitor
any other entity who can potentially become a threat to our country.
Homeland defense represents the protection of our territory, population, and critical
infrastructure by deterring and defending against foreign and domestic threats,
supporting civil authorities for crisis and consequence management, and helping to
ensure the continuance of critical national assets (Department of the Army 1999, 1).
(Noftsinger, 2007)
The Department of Defense main objective is to provide the military forces
necessary to protect the security of our country. To protect our natural resources,
installations, and facilities by discouraging and preventing acts of terror against the
American public. To support the overall mission by fighting radical extremist who
plan and carry out attacks on American soil claiming the lives of innocent citizens.
Our military servicemembers operate from overseas and within our states protecting
our borders, skies, ports, and shores from terrorist who wish to plant fear and create
chaos in our nation.

A typical day on the unit for Rosa consists of admitting patients, taking patients
vital signs, drawing blood, bathing and dressing patients, moving patients from bed
to chairs, transporting patients to various departments for test, and discharging
patients. The most stressful days in her line of work arise when other nurses call
out for scheduled work days and miscommunications. When nurses call out from
work, the burden for other nurses becomes overwhelming. The other nurses must
take on more patients for their shift unless a nurse is called to their unit for help.
As a nurse of 25 years, I asked Rosa what are some of the technologies that has
made her career more accommodating. She stated that, The new medical beds that
automatically shifts the patients in bed to prevent bed sores are very helpful .

Great American Cities
In Jacob s book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, the various ways
that city planning is being practiced incorrectly are explored. One problem that cities
are encountering is the decay of inner city areas that are forming slums . City
planners have been attempting to mend this problem by spending money on new low
income housing projects and developments. This tactic does not fix the problem of
high crime rates and low levels of education because these people stay in the same
area just in slightly better housing and still without proper education and
opportunities. Another reason why these problems do not improve is that planners
focus on how a cityshould look and not on the actual happenings in the real city. The

also created conflict with the other siblings and persuades them to go to Narnia.
Narnia is where the setting of the story is. Edmund is the second youngest but he
is much more adventurous then Peter and Susan. As he believes Lucy, he goes
through the wardrobe with Lucy. He eventually gets lost. As he goes searching for
Lucy, he meets the White Witch. He does not know that she is the White Witch;
the most evil ruler of all. The White Witch came in her sled and with a nice look on
her face. The White Witch offered Edmund ham. Edmund at that time was very
hungry so he accepted. Again, not knowing that if you eat food from the White
Witch you will become memorized and under the White Witch s commands. He ate
the ham. The White Witch knows that Edmund is a Son of Adam so she asks
Edmund if he has any other siblings. Edmund replies three. The White Witch is
feeling great because all she needs to fulfill the prophecy is four Daughters of Eves

with a task. The task is to persuade all of Edmunds siblings to come to Narnia

Once your outerwear is clean and dry, here s how to care for the rest of your gear.
Cleaning Skis
For skis, use a mild soap and a sponge to get off any hardened dirt and rinse it all
off. After wiping them completely dry, you can use a base cleaner to remove any
remaining wax. Finally, rub some shiny new wax over the bottom. The wax you use
is going to depend on your type of skiing.
For alpine skiing, you ll use a glide wax to make you faster. For classic cross country
skiing, you ll need a grip wax to help you get enough traction to move forward but
still let you glide once you get going. If you re looking for more information about
cleaning your skis, REI has a great article.
Cleaning Goggles
When it comes to goggles, wipe them down gently with a soft lens cloth or the soft
bag they came in. Don t use a tissue, paper towel, or clothing! These can actually
create small scratches across the lenses. If there s still a bit of grime, you can use an
eyeglass cleaning solution for the outside. Be careful with the inside,

FLOTUS: Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama
We hold these truths to be self evident; that all men and women are created equal,
the Declaration of Sentiments, Grievances, and Resolutions, 1848. It has been
exactly 100 years since suffragists marched the streets of New York City with a
banner that read President Wilson favors votes for women. Political, social, and
economic inequality may seem like a thing from the past because of the
accomplishments of women like Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Hillary Clinton,

Political, social, and economic equality has not yet been achieved. However, with
the help of First Lady Michelle Obama, change is coming. She is changing the
world by helping empower women to be independent and pursue their dreams just
like she did. For Example, Malala Yousafzai is fighting in Pakistan for girls to be
able to go to school because in Pakistan some communities don t allow or expect
girls to go to school. The benefits of educating women around the world are worth
fighting for or as better said by Michelle, There are still many causes worth
sacrificing for, so much history yet to be
My Dream Cricket Game
A dream cricket game It was a bright sunny day in Miami, Florida. It was the last
week of January when everything in my hometown Virginia was covered with
snow, but in Miami the temperature was in high 80 s. The sky looked like a calm
ocean, there were no clouds in sight and the chances of rain were 0%, this was a
perfect day to play a cricket game. This was the day when we played the final game
of the Miami cricket tournament. This game proved to be the best game of cricket
I ever played in my entire life because we crushed the mighty team of California to
win our first major cricket tournament for Virginia. It was 4pm in the evening when
our team arrived at the Miami cricket stadium. I was very nervous because I was
already feeling the pressure of the game. My team was expecting a lot from me
because I was the youngest player in the team and it was my first major
tournament final. I was the last one to get off the bus, the driver handed me my kit
bag and I thanked him. I hope you win today, best of luck. the bus driver said. I
hope that too, thank you. I replied to him. After that I reached the field and I
looked around at the stadium. The field was lush green and the grass was freshly
trimmed, the smell of mud indicated that the field was freshly watered. There were
a few people in the upper stands dancing on the beats, the lower stands were
completely empty because it was not a soccer game. On my left hand side, I saw the
opposition team warming up for the game.
What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Medical...
Introduction
Many students view education as an obligation rather than a privilege and fail to
engage fully in their studies. Moreover in schools, teachers manage much of students
learning, once they leave school, students have to manage most of their own learning
so learning process should be enhanced in such away to help students to gain
enthusiasm for their scholastic journey and acquire a passion for knowledge, for that
purpose they need to establish goals, to persevere, to monitor their learning progress

Question 4
Explain how both positive and negative attitudes toward a brand like Porsche
develop. How might Porsche change consumer attitudes toward the brand?
There s obviously the group of people that can afford a Porsche, and a group of
people that can t afford a Porsche, people can take a specific attitude towards
Porsche that could be negative, because they can t afford a Porsche. And these
specific people can irritate themselves about the people that can afford a Porsche,
just to show off or use it as a reflection of their self image Porsche makes cars that
are obviously not for everyone, they are very expensive. Porsche focuses itself on a
specific market. Rich people. But, Porsche can change consumer attitudes towards
the brand. In the 1970s came Porsche 914, this car was a lot cheaper than the 911
and that meant that a Porsche could also be affordable for a different class of
people, what meant that their attitude towards the brand could change. Porsche did
a couple of years ago exactly the same. But then this affordable version was called
the cayman ( which cost 67.049), it was also a very nice sports car, but a little bit
tinier, and less faster than the 911(which cost 112.000) or the carrera (which cost
122.300) . But
Grand Final Exam Essay
Sometimes, the bounce of the ball just has to go your way.
Just ask one of the world s best players, Johnathan Thurston, who dropped the ball
horribly onto his foot in the 2015 NRL Grand Final, struck his boot on the stomach of
the ball, but somehow manoeuvred it to go through the posts to win the Grand Final
for the North Queensland Cowboys.
Almost a year down the track, Illawarra Cutters rising star, Drew Hutchison, booted
the winning field goal to defeat Mounties in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW
Grand Final.
It was high, it was long, and it was struck with perfection.
Or was it?
Honestly, I dropped it pretty [poorly] actually, Hutchison admitted to NSWRL.com.au

We had a few supporter busses come up, I put the message out during the week and I
think it was pretty chockers on the busses.
We always knew if we put a full half together that we can beat them, at the end of the
day we did that and we triumphed in the end.
There is no better feeling.
At the end of the game, the Cutters players got around Hutchison and started calling
him clutch Hutch , or clutch Hutchison as they were about to receive their trophy.
On the other side of the stage stood Sam Williams the Intrust Super Premiership
NSW s best player moments after his last ditch field goal effort to lock up the scores
was waved away.
It is a cruel twist of irony for a player that has played so well in 2016, and a team that
won the minor premiership by eight competition points.
Williams and they entire Mounties team did not deserve to go down like that after the
amazing year they have had, but that s just footy.
The moment the ball left Williams boot to the realisation he had missed would have
been the longest few seconds of Hutchison s life, but he could barley describe the
emotion he felt
The Characteristics Of Heroism In The Epic Of Beowulf
Heroism has been the main theme in many stories that were passed down orally
throughout the generations, centering around the good guy versus bad guy plot. As
time passed, people began to redefine their own version of heroism in various ways
and sometimes depict the protagonist as a person with just as good of a flaw as the
antagonist. Beowulf, written from the early 11th century into Anglo Saxon script, is
one of the oldest variations of a heroas far as writings date. Based on real people
from modern day Scandinavia, Beowulf is a historical fiction telling of monsters
from various lands who oppress the Danes, until a warrior prince named Beowulf
ventures from his own land to defeat these monsters. When examining Beowulf s
actions, it s clear to find that his motives for defeating the monsters is not to save
people per se, but to attain glory and battle fame for himself. This is a normal
reaction for a hero, but some may see it as only standing for the title of a hero, not
actually satisfying the essence of heroic deeds. There are many characteristics to a
hero, but narrowing it down to three will show the main points essential to a hero,
shown and collected from most depictions of them. Heroes may attribute to
haughtiness in response to fame, fortune and the opposite sex suddenly attracted to
them, if the hero is coincidentally good looking. After fighting a certain battle that
they are known for clashing with, many heroes develop an internal battle within
themselves
Yes Black Lives Matter Essay
Is the Black Lives Matter movement a positive or negative thing in this country?
Yes, It s good for the African American community to get involved with such a

The Origin Of The Ais Indians
Long before the Western countries discovered North America, the Native Americans
lived and thrived here. Historians believe these wandering peoples crossed over a
land bridge that formed when the earth froze over, officially named Beringia, to get
to North America. These nomadic Natives began spreading and forming different
tribes around North America. One of the many tribes was the AisIndians of Florida.
By themselves, the tribes reigned the New World, but contact with the Westerns
began their tragic demise. Although little is known about the origins of the Ais
Indians, historians do know that they settled around 1000 BC. The Ais Indians were
located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, from present day Cape Canaveral to St.
Lucie. This area would have covered four counties: Brevard, Indian River, St.
Lucie, and the northern part of Martin. The Ais Indians resided in towns and
villages along the Indian River in huts. Similar to any group of people, the Ais had
a leader called the Cacique. The Cacique was determined by whom the most
respected matrilineal family was in the tribe. Unlike the traditions of the West, the
Cacique would rule through suggestion instead of force. Regarding to housing, the
huts they lived in were framed with wood or sticks, then they were covered in
palmetto leaves to form walls and a roof. As expected, the Cacique s hut was larger
and more furnished than the rest of the huts. Their diet mainly consisted of fish,
oysters, clams, snails, and sea grapes
The Ethical Dilemma Of Hawaii Regarding The

Abstract
This paper will talk about the ethical dilemma that has been a controversial issue in
Hawaii regarding the construction of the thirty meter telescope being built on Mauna
Kea, the most sacred land in the entire pacific. This issue has risen concerns
regarding the local community, the Native Hawaiians and the TMT organization. The
ethical dilemma here is to build or not to build? Yes, Hawaiiwants to preserve the
host culture, but should Native Hawaiians prevent the development of new
technology? With this telescope, according to the TMT website, it will be able to see
the formation of galaxies, thirteen billion light years away. This can answer
humankinds most compelling question...Where did life begin?
Mauna Kea is currently the tallest mountain in the Hawaiian Chain. 4,205 meters
above sea level, Mauna Kea is located on the island of Hawaii. It is the second largest
surface that comprises of the five volcanoes on Mauna Kea. With Mauna Kea being
the largest Mountain in the Hawaiian chain, it is a popular location to look into the
galaxies, to find the origin of life.
Humans have looked to the skies for answers, the Polynesians sailed the Pacific using
celestial navigation. Astronomy continues to revolutionize our thinking. Today, with
the construction of the most powerful telescope, humankind may have the answers
to the origin of life. However, this telescope is being built atop Mauna Kea, one of
the most sacred lands in the entire Pacific. Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka
Sales Promotion Strategy
Sales Promotion Strategy
Sales are the lifeblood of a business, without sales there would be no business in the
first place; therefore it is very important that if a business wants to succeed, it should
have a sales promotion strategy in mind. The primary objective of a sales promotion
is to improve a company s sales by predicting and modifying your target customer s
purchasing behavior and patterns. Sales promotion is very important as it not only
helps to boost sales but it also helps a business to draw new customers while at the
same time retaining older ones. There are a variety of sales promotional strategies
that a business can use to increase their sales, however it is important that we first
understand what a sales promotion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These agencies would also provide overall marketing and sales promotion and
branding strategies for its clients.
Sales promotions or term it as sales and promotion, together makes one. These
promotions include quite a lot of communication activities that would help in adding
value or advantage to the customers, retailers and wholesalers and others to kindle the
sales. These things would help in rousing interest in having a trail or purchasing the
product or a service. Samples, premiums, contests, point of purchase displays etc are
some of the techniques that you can use.
There are some agencies having their sales promotions divisions, where they wholly
depend only on promotions. The functionalities for both the sales promotion and ad
agencies are alike up to some extent, but these sales promotions, promo staff are
more consumerist. These promotions are vital for proper marketing of services or
products of a company. There are three categories of strategies namely push strategy,
pull strategy and combination of both.
A push strategy engrosses the intermediary channel members to push the product
through the distribution channels to end consumers through promotions. Companies
promote the services or products though the resellers who in turn promote it to
another buyer or to the end customer. These are the people who carry the brand
though out the channel to reach the end
My First Research Experience Involved Ecological Work

My first research experience involved ecological work at the San Miguel
Biological Station in Costa Rica. During the summer of 2013, I did extensive field
research in and near the Cabo Blanco Absolute reserve focusing on forest succession
within the scope of the unique continuous conservation efforts of the national
government. A total of thirty (0.02 hectare) forest inventory plots were laid out.
Species composition and population structure of tree species were characterized
representing 28 year old and 50 year old successional forests, and small areas of
primary forest. The researchshowed that longevity of growth and area use were
determining factors in the species that occurred. When an area had been undisturbed
and allowed to grow for a longer period, there was more speciation resembling
primary forest. Suggesting for the areas studied, that if left undisturbed long enough,
an area s speciation will resemble primary forest. However, secondary growth in
these areas is not expected to immediately resemble the population structure of tree
species as a consequence of time in undisturbed growth. I showcased this project in a
poster presentation at the SDSU Student Research Symposium March 2014.
Currently, I work in Dr. Andrew L. Cooksy s physical chemistry laboratory at SDSU.
I conduct research on organometallic catalysts using computational methods and
physical chemistry theory. I carry out electronic structure calculations in an effort to
reproduce the observed effects
The Mexican Culture And The Day Of The Dead
The experimentation and research that delves into the mind, social interactions, and
the history of social cultures can all relate to why peoples and groups partake in
certain social cultural practices. Psychology relates to the study of the human mind.
It also studies the brain s functions and uses said functions to explain behavior.
Sociologypertains to societies throughout time, being defined as the study of
development, structure, and functioning of human societies. Anthropology is
defined as the study of human societies and cultures and their development. These
three fields of study work to explain behavior and its causes. As popular cultural
practices and followings come and go, it is best to use reliable scientific means to
attempt to explain the seemingly ridiculous behaviors of those who partake in
particular pop culture habits. While some social interactions are silly, such as the
obsession with celebrities, some may end up being useful for society. One such
useful practice is the celebration of the Day of the Dead. The Mexican culture
relating to the Day of the Dead celebrations prove to be useful interactions and
practices. In Mexican culture, the Day of the Dead is a lively celebration often
observed from November 1st until November 2nd. What is often misunderstood as a
gruesome exaggeration of deathis, in reality, a wondrous celebration of lives, though
passed. From the outside, onlookers view this celebration with horror and disbelief at

Swot Analysis Of Fedex
FedEx is one of the most well known and successful businesses in the shipping
industry. The structure of this organization has enabled it to become a major
competitor in its field. Examination of the structure and internal workings of this
multifaceted association demonstrates that it has been streamlined and set up such
that has augmented its proficiency in the market. FedEx has made an organization
that has fiscally been very effective. In any event, this does not infer that it doesn t
have space to develop and enhance from its present standing. The joining of new,
developing patterns in innovation and online networking business activities could
make the way toward overseeing and dispatching less demanding for the organization.

The two firms are in a steady fight to keep up piece of the overall industry in their
separate specialized topics while turning into a bigger player in the other s field.
Both firms spend intensely on publicizing and frequently coordinate each other with

be the pioneer. FedEx, be that as it may, profit significantly when DHL exited the
US expedited service advertise a couple of years back. The company is trying to
compete with DHL by obtaining companies that are already reputable in various
international markets and investing heavily in infrastructure (planes, trucks, routes,
and hubs) in those locales. The threat of new entrants realistically competing with
FedEx is very low and this is due in large part to the huge costs associated with
entering the delivery market on a wide scale (strategic report). The investment that
would be needed to obtain the appropriate levels of planes and vehicles combined
with building up the necessary infrastructure is mind boggling (strategic report).
Besides, it is essential to address the barrier that another firm would confront as the
Federal Aviation administration and air routes/landing rights. The
Israel Dbq Essay
In the beginning, the State of Israel s contributions to world development was
considered great; however due to social and political factors that ended in war the
current aid is only a fraction of what it used to be.
On May 14, 1948, the first Jewish state in 2,000 years was established at an afternoon
ceremony in the Tel Aviv Art Museum. The words announced by the then Jewish

Jewish state in Palestine, to be called Israel. The next day, the Arab Israeli War broke

MASHAV s strategies were highly sought after throughout the Third World. Heads
and leaders of this program traveled around the world to spread Israel s uniquely
innovative, agricultural knowledge. However, Israel s motives were not completely
selfless when it came to the MASHAV foreign projects. Israel had a goal. A plan to
garner international support to combat its, thus far, political isolation. Israel also
achieved religious fulfillment in shining upon those of other countries in need.
The 1960 s was the Golden Age for Israel s MASHAV program. Hundreds of Israeli

poverty, lessons on how to increasing crop efficiency, and theirs innovations in
agriculture; such as drip irrigation. Israel s activities and innovations became famous
throughout the world. During this time, Israel would amass diplomatic relations with
over 30 newly formed, independent African nations. As well as during the 1960s,
the Israeli Air Defense Command came fully oprational with the addition of the 40
mm radar guided anti aircraft guns and the MIM 23 Hawk surface to air missiles.
Afterwards, the Israeli Air Force incooporated their ADA Branch.
By the year 1967, the Israeli state shocked the world when it seized the remaining

Pet Peeve Essay.pdf

  • 1. Pet Peeve Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Pet Peeve" can be both challenging and intriguing. The difficulty lies in the subjective nature of pet peeves – those seemingly trivial annoyances that vary greatly from person to person. One person's pet peeve might be another's daily routine, making it a task to strike a balance between relatability and uniqueness in the essay. To begin with, identifying a personal pet peeve that is not only interesting but also provides ample material for discussion can be a daunting task. The chosen peeve should be something that resonates with the audience and allows for a genuine exploration of emotions and experiences. This requires introspection and the ability to articulate those subtle irritations that may seem inconsequential but have a significant impact on one's daily life. Moreover, structuring the essay can be challenging. Balancing the personal narrative with broader implications and perhaps even incorporating humor or wit to engage the reader requires a careful hand. The challenge lies in making the essay universally appealing while still maintaining a personal touch, fostering a connection with the audience. Additionally, avoiding clichГ©s and expressing oneself in a unique and compelling way is crucial. Since pet peeves are often commonplace, the danger of falling into well-worn phrases and expressions is real. It demands a creative effort to present the information in a fresh and interesting manner, capturing the reader's attention from start to finish. In conclusion, while writing a "Pet Peeve Essay" may initially seem like a simple task, the intricacies lie in the subtleties of personal experiences, relatability, and the challenge of engaging a diverse audience. Navigating through these challenges requires a thoughtful and creative approach to transform an everyday annoyance into a compelling piece of writing. And for those seeking assistance with essays or looking for more examples, various resources are available, including online platforms like HelpWriting.net, where similar essays and much more can be ordered to simplify the writing process. • 2. The Road At The Intersection Of S.h Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people s daily routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety, cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the feeder roadat the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe s and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially, during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy, and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection. Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my community. S.H. 249 South is the main problem, it often gets backed up past the entire Lowe s parking lot. This road consists of three lanes: the far left lane being a turn only lane, the middle lane being a lane that turns left and goes straight, and the far
  • 3. Essay about Significance of Jamestown What is the significance of Jamestown? Jamestown introduced slavery into English speaking North America; it became the first of England s colonies to adopt a representative government; and it was the site of the first clashes between whites and Indians over territorial expansion. Jamestown began the tenuous, often violent, mingling of different peoples that came to embody the American experience. Dr. James Horn A Land As God Made It. In the 1400 s Europe had very little land for agriculture and settlement. The Europeans desired riches such as gold, luxury food items, land, and timber. None of these products could be produced in Europe so they had to find these resources elsewhere. This led to a lot of importing and trading with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1585 he settled about 100 men on Roanoke Island, but they did not settle and returned a year later. In 1587 he sent another group to settle that included a number of women and children. A supply ship was sent to the settlers but was delayed by the attack of the Spanish Armada on England in 1588. Help did not arrive until 1590, but it was too late and there was no one to be found. The attack of the Spanish Armada was spurred by King Phillip the 2nd. His motives were religious as England seemed committed to Protestantism as well as for economic and political reasons. An English fleet of 197 ships were able to conquer the invasion and led to Spain no longer being able to prevent the English from settling in the New World. The plan at this time was for English colonies to go to America to spread the Protestant religion and expand the market for English woolens; this would bring in valuable tax revenues. The American forests could be used for timber and naval stores to build a bigger navy and merchant marine. Queen Elizabeth did not condone this as she was too cautious and so settlement was not acted upon until after her death in 1603. The new king James the 1st granted licenses for two groups of English merchants to colonize Virginia. The first charter revealed the motives of the king when it spoke of spreading Christianity and bringing the savages to civility along with the rights to dig, mine and search for all matters of gold,
  • 4. Cry the Beloved Country Movie versus Film Essay Cry, the Beloved Country is a moving story of the Zulu pastor Stephen Kumalo and his son Absalom. They live in an Africa torn apart by racial tensions and hate. It is based on a work of love and hope, courage, and endurance, and deals with the dignity of man. The author lived and died (1992) in South Africa and was one of the greatest writers of that country. His other works include Too Late the Phalarope, Ah, but Your Land Is Beautiful, and Tales from a Troubled Land. The book was made into a movie starring James Earl Jones and Richard Harris. The book takes you to South Africa, where the land itself is the essence of a man. It as if the mountains, soaring high above the clouds, are the high moments in life, and the valleys are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At times, sections of dialogue are lifted directly from the books pages. More importantly, however, Paton s themes are brought home with devastating, deep impact through a production that captures the book s essence as close as it recounts the narrative. There isn t a false note in Cry, The Beloved Country. Every scene in the film is perfectly executed with great composition. Cry, The Beloved Country is the first movie about racial relations in South Africa I personally have seen which trusts the viewer s intelligence enough not to set up one or more characters as a straw man to represent everything evil about apartheid. Technically, the time period of the movie predates the formal institutionalization of apartheid, but I still think the point s valid. Based on Alan Paton s 1946 novel, this film gives us a loving but painful look at a society headed toward increasing division and violence. James Earl Jones and Richard Harris give great performances as fathers who are tested by the unhappy fates of their respective sons. When these two have their first major scene together, we can t help but feel compassion over the emotion involved. And later, when they eye each other while taking refuge from a storm in a leaky church, they become an picture for two different and wary tribes sharing a common home. The meat of Cry, the Beloved Country concerns how events in the wake of the shooting transform the lives of Stephen Kumalo and James Jarvis. Each is forced to abandon their

  • 6. Counter-Publicity It is very important for Christians to adapt to modern American society, especially when it comes to things like media, and the ever popular political correctness. In chapter seven, the authors focus on how those who are focused on rhetoric need to engage in public entertainment, especially when speaking publicly. Public speaking is not simply spoken words but the act of the speech, or other forms of media, the agent, or the person who communicates the artifact, the agency or the means of communicating the act, such as a concert, or public presentation. These critics need to also be aware of the background or scene behind the act, as well as the purpose or intent of the message. It needs some form of significance (134). By using these steps, the critic can effectively... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In chapter nine, the authors focus on how postmodernists believe metanarratives such as shown in Christian beliefs are oppressive (161). Postmodernists believe the Christian views are close minded and are not tolerant of others views (162). Many Christians believe postmodernists are right, and ultimately fall into the trap of worldly conformity. However, in some ways postmodernists are right about Christian views, such as Christian beliefs cannot remove all uncertainty from people. Because of human limitations, there will always be an air of doubt and not everything can be proven through metanarratives (163). However, postmodernist believe that truth is culturally relative, meaning that truth can continue to change based on culture (167). Christians know that one truth is consistent throughout all cultures. Christians need to guard their hearts in these times of change in truth and
  • 7. Play-Based Learning Analysis As you drive past a playground, you hear the laughter and loud voices of children. In that exact moment, you may not be aware that they are in fact developing crucial skills that will be utilized throughout their entire life. It seems as if something so simple as playing with peers is incapable of occupying such influential power. Conversely, playbased learningpresents endless possibilities and enhancements for children. Encouraging mental growth and providing an environment to do so at a young age is imperative. Children learn in various ways, but play based learning tends to produce higher motivation, as well as implant vital life skills because it provides opportunity for indirect instruction. • 8. Afro-Futurism Analysis Through a number of important essays, Marleen Barr s Afro Futurism opens up a conversation about racial autonomy and collective agency in a literary space that seems to have been reluctant to even whisper about such things: namely, Science Fiction. Maybe that is not all that surprising given the genre s predominantly white(ned?) literary categorization that, while it has no outright barred people of color, has not in turn seemed to make any meaningful space for them, either . Indeed, there is such an implicit racial claim of science fiction by White Culture that when a person of color is cast in one of the starring roles of a major Science Fiction production oh, let s say Star Wars: The Force Awakens that there is a massive outcry and calls for boycott and existential fears of white erasure. Yet, despite this struggle for ownership, the fit between Science Fiction and people of color appears to be an intuitive one. Mark Dery ( Black to the Future ) poignantly points out, effectively noting that African Americans are always already seen and constructed as Other/Alien (8) . Is that all that surprising? Not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (This will become a smooth transition into the next chapter which deals more broadly with the reclaiming of forgotten histories.) This version of Afro futurism steers Science Fiction in a direction it seemingly did not know it needed to go: a science factionalist therianthrophy, or an anti Cartesian synthesis of mind and body at the site of the exploited female body of color. Although the characters she references use their abilities as means of escape, it s important to note here they are embracing (as opposed to revert back to) animal shape shifting (in other words, effectively curtailing the black woman as animalistic
  • 9. Advantages Of Organic Food Why is it that organic foods are more costly than conventional foods, financially or health wise? Consumers should not be charged a higher price for organically grown foods in order to eat healthier. Choosing to eat foods whether organic or conventional should be equal in cost to the consumer. I won t go in the direction of the whole paleo caveman thing but when you think about early man or our ancestors consuming foods in its pure, natural, organic state without concern of ingesting potentially harmful chemicals or excessive costs, don t you wonder where things went awry? Prior to the Twentieth Century all food was organic. Organic in terms of food, simply means that the product or its ingredients were produced without routine inputs of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, chemical preservatives or irradiated (radiation exposure) (5). Then along came the discovery and invention of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in 1920 s forever changing the costs, development and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Read the labels and research their source. Consumers may be aware there is a choice between organic foods and conventional foods but they may not realize exactly what this entails. For instance, facts such as the government having an established limit for safe amount of pesticides and allowed residues used in foods growth process or the USDA s food safety warning that organic foods lack of preservatives may make them vulnerable to bacteria and parasites. The question of whether organic foods are healthier for you than conventional foods is yet to be determined as there have not yet been sufficient scientific studies to prove this one way or another. In determining the healthier alternative common sense should come into play. Organic foods are relatively free of herbicides and pesticides which are dangerous to human health, whereas conventional foods are not. Therefore wouldn t it be logical to avoid these
  • 10. 9-11 Research Papers These are the 5 number summaries and boxplots for questions 7 11. These visual representations show the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile and maximum. These results show that the most common time that students spend on their electronic devices is between 4pm and 7pm. For questions 9 11 the box plots have no lines as the data has many zeros in it. These zeros have occurred due to the lack of electronic devices that are being used during these times. 3 in 84 students used their devices between 1am 4am. This 3% of students indicated that they spend approximately 30 minutes on their devices during these hours, thus, making them outliers in the data as majority of students implied that they spend no time on devices within these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the hours leading up to the recommended bedtime for ages 14 to 15, 10pm, usage is at its peak, this then decreases as it gets later. This could be because limited Year 9 students are awake during these hours of the night and checking their device. Despite the occasional outlier during the hours of 11pm and 3am, most students restarted using their devices between 4am 7am. We can connect this information to whether students check their devices immediately upon waking where majority of students said they sometimes checked their device upon waking. This could be why usage restarts because 7am is when most students wake up. Refer to Figure 4, appendix 1 to see a visual representation of this data. 40.62 represents the average number of minutes spent on electronic devices across all the time intervals. The is a relativity low number considering that it was within a three hour time period. The mean is so low due to the copious amounts of zeros in the data set. This has occurred due to the minimal usage between the hours of 11pm and 3am. This has been shown in the box plots above where displayed we can see that there is not a range of varied
  • 11. Major Events Of The First Crusade Jake Rice Dr. Burns RELI 160D2 001 29 October 2014 Major Events of the First Crusade In 1095 CE Pope Urban II launched the First Crusade to recapture the Holy Land of Jerusalem, and restore Christian supremacy in Anatolia (modern day Turkey) and the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, and the Sinai Peninsula) (First Crusade). The cause for such an aggressive movement in the region is debated amongst historians. However, mainstream theories assert that the First Crusade was a direct result of rising Islamic confrontation in Anatolia (The First Crusade). Christians had not been in control of the Holy Land for over 400 years (Timelines of History). Though, as Islam crept into Europe through Spain and the East, Christian grip on Europe was threatened, and thus, the First crusade was launched (First Crusade). At first, the goals of the First Crusade were widespread. Christians of all backgrounds set out on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in order to strengthen their ties to tradition (The First Crusade). The Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos requested the help of Pope Urban II to repel invading Seljuk Turks from Eastern Anatolia, and return Byzantine land to Byzantine control (First Crusade). However, the goal which eventually dominated the others was the reconquest of the Holy City of Jerusalem, and its surrounding areas (First Crusade). Pope Urban II cleverly noticed that the first two goals would rally enough support in order for him to concur Jerusalem and restore
  • 12. Family in Night by Ellie Wiesel What does the word family mean to you? In my opinion, family means everything to me. It s the people I knew since I was born, who I know I can turn to anytime needed. Everyone has their own definition of family, it can be positive, negative, or even both. In the world s society everyone is born into a family, it can be a traditional, a un blood related, or an extended family. No matter how well a family relationship can be there is no such thing as a perfect family. In many classic pieces of literature, many writers use themes of conflict between the children and their parents. It can be conflicts towards each other or conflicts the family experiences together. In many well know novels, many characters from tragic events of abuse, cruelty, and negligent events kept their courage to survive through terrible events. The story of Ellen Foster Kaye Gibbons takes a reader inside a story of young orphaned girl, who is passed down to every family until the she is able to find the perfect one she fit into. In the classic novel Night author Elie Wieselwrites a historical piece about a young boy s experience in a concentration camp. Losing half of his family the young boy Eliezer has to fight with his father through suffering tactics from the Nazis. The classic play Romeo and Juliet , William Shakespeare writes a tragic piece about two young lovers being forced to disobey family orders to be with each other. In all three pieces of literature, the characters struggle

Societal Injustices Upon Women Yagulan Srikumar Mrs. JostAP Literature6 November 2017 Societal Injustices Upon Women Human rights are women s rights, and women s rights are human rights (Hillary Clinton). This is a very important message that can be applied throughout history to prove the significance of women during time periods in which they were viewed as substantially lesser than men. Over the years, women have grown independent, fighting for their rights, changing the gender norms placed on society and the expectations women are forced to uphold. To successfully do this, women have evolved their mindset on how life should run to accommodate for gender equality. This evolution in the mindset of women is the ... She faked being a part of society and was becoming herself and daily casting aside that fictitious self which we assume like a garment with which to appear before the world (Chopin 108). Although she despised society itself, she couldn t leave at first due to all the material and emotional tethers she had to the world, such as her kids, her husband, her estate. Later on however, she slowly started to detach herself from these tethers. Edna also gets the advice at one point that, The bird that would soar above the level plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to earth. (Chopin 138). The passage proves exactly how hard it is for a woman to be independent. Any man can soar, regardless of how weak his wings are, yet for a woman, she must have the wit of a hawk and the strength of an eagle to truly soar past society and its stereotypes. Bruce Wayne has a love interest in a woman and childhood friend of Rachel that was introduced in the first movie of the trilogy. Rachel is aware that Wayne is Batman. Bruce keeps from being in a relationship with Rachel due to the risks to her life if someone were to find out that he is Batman. Also, it was to save her from heartache knowing that each night he goes out could be the last he lives. The main antagonist of the movie is the villain Joker. While reading The Republic we can see which side of these paradoxes Plato favors. We find which side he feels should be stressed so that we may live in a reasonable and safe society and be better human beings. There are three categories in which these paradoxes have been divided into: ethical, metaphysical and political. Plato was a legendary Athenian philosopher. His main influence was his teacher, Socrates, whom he thought died unjustly. The Republic was written in dialogues narrated by Socrates. When Plato was thinking out his Republic he felt society took president over the individual. The whole is greater than it s parts , he said. However, Plato also said, you need to balance the order of society with the rights of the individual. Plato felt in a natural state people would war against on another. That is why a civil or social contract is needed to keep man from killing one another. Man would then enter into this social contract for protection, to trade goods and services with others and simply to have their needs taken care of. For this social contract to be successful each individual must have a responsibility and an obligation to his fellow man and follow the rules of the contract. In this way the individual will gain but society will prevail. It is a give and take proposition. People are working for the benefit of society and individuals benefit from working for the society. Plato wanted to set up an interdependent society where we would service one another with competence, where each one would better themselves by working for the society and fulfilling different needs. Everyone would be working for the betterment of society and thereby helping themselves. We are stronger together than we are individually. In the paradox of order and change, Plato favors order. In Plato s Republic he speaks of a specific social order and feels that there are absolute laws and reasons without exceptions to keep that order. He feels

This is the shocking reality of the contemporary dowry marriage in India and the frightening experience faced by many young women. Each year, thousands of these young women are murdered, through what has been dubbed bride burnings ,[4] by husbands and in laws seeking increased dowry demands. While the practice of dowry is commonly perceived by the international community as one of Indian custom and culture, in its current form it is more accurately described as a social phenomenon believed to bestow a greater social status upon the recipient. Originally designed to be a gift given out of affection at the time of a daughter s marriage, today the dowry system has turned into a perverted version of an ancient and respected custom. It has now become an obligatory transaction that places a heavy impact on a family s financial and social status and a young wife s welfare. In the last four decades, dowry negotiations between the families of brides and grooms have escalated into continuing demands even after the agreed upon amount is given. Even more disquieting are the increasing numbers and the ways in which young wives are killed when their husbands and in laws are dissatisfied with the amount of dowry given or when additional demands are not met. Frequently, as the violence and abuse escalates, if the young wife is not murdered she is driven to commit

He validates these actions by claiming it was this unfathomable longing of the soul to vex itself to offer violence to its own nature to do wrong for the wrong s sake only that urged [him] to continue and finally to consummate the injury [he] had inflicted upon the unoffending brute [the cat] (Paragraph 9). Often these heroes are people such as athletes, celebrities, world leaders, and family members. These ordinary people become heroes because of desirable attributes they exhibit. These characteristics are ones that people can relate to, characteristics that give birth to a desire to elevate oneself to be a heroto others. Such is my hero. My hero was born long ago to two devoted parents that loved him dearly. Life was not easy for him or his family; nevertheless, he grew up and became strong. Even though he was the son of a lowly carpenter, he learned of his divine calling and rose to the challenge that came with the call. The challenges that afflicted him in his life molded him into the hero I see him to be. He is JesusChrist, a man with amazing attributes and my hero. Christ had many great and marvelous attributes. He lived his entire life by these attributes and encouraged others to develop these same values. He magnified a way for others to find happiness and meaning. These attributes are the reason Jesus Christ is my hero. One of Christ s greatest attributes is love. He loved everyone. He loved the poor, the wealthy, the young, and the old. Through his example, people around him felt more inclined to love. When an individual is filled with love, they develop a strong desire to serve others. The most stressful days in her line of work arise when other nurses call out for scheduled work days and miscommunications. When nurses call out from work, the burden for other nurses becomes overwhelming. The other nurses must take on more patients for their shift unless a nurse is called to their unit for help. She stated that, The new medical beds that automatically shifts the patients in bed to prevent bed sores are very helpful . (Rosa D Witcher, personal communication, February 4, 2014). One problem that cities are encountering is the decay of inner city areas that are forming slums . City planners have been attempting to mend this problem by spending money on new low income housing projects and developments. This tactic does not fix the problem of high crime rates and low levels of education because these people stay in the same area just in slightly better housing and still without proper education and opportunities. Another reason why these problems do not improve is that planners focus on how a cityshould look and not on the actual happenings in the real city. The author mentions

The sky looked like a calm ocean, there were no clouds in sight and the chances of rain were 0%, this was a perfect day to play a cricket game. This was the day when we played the final game of the Miami cricket tournament. This game proved to be the best game of cricket I ever played in my entire life because we crushed the mighty team of California to win our first major cricket tournament for Virginia. It was 4pm in the evening when our team arrived at the Miami cricket stadium. I was very nervous because I was already feeling the pressure of the game. My team was expecting a lot from me because I was the youngest player in the team and it was my first major tournament final. I was the last one to get off the bus, the driver handed me my kit bag and I thanked him. I hope you win today, best of luck. the bus driver said. I hope that too, thank you. I replied to him. After that I reached the field and I looked around at the stadium. The field was lush green and the grass was freshly trimmed, the smell of mud indicated that the field was freshly watered. There were a few people in the upper stands dancing on the beats, the lower stands were completely empty because it was not a soccer game. On my left hand side, I saw the opposition team warming up for the game.

The Characteristics Of Heroism In The Epic Of Beowulf Heroism has been the main theme in many stories that were passed down orally throughout the generations, centering around the good guy versus bad guy plot. As time passed, people began to redefine their own version of heroism in various ways and sometimes depict the protagonist as a person with just as good of a flaw as the antagonist. Beowulf, written from the early 11th century into Anglo Saxon script, is one of the oldest variations of a heroas far as writings date. Based on real people from modern day Scandinavia, Beowulf is a historical fiction telling of monsters from various lands who oppress the Danes, until a warrior prince named Beowulf ventures from his own land to defeat these monsters. When examining Beowulf s actions, it s clear to find that his motives for defeating the monsters is not to save people per se, but to attain glory and battle fame for himself. This is a normal reaction for a hero, but some may see it as only standing for the title of a hero, not actually satisfying the essence of heroic deeds. There are many characteristics to a hero, but narrowing it down to three will show the main points essential to a hero, shown and collected from most depictions of them. Heroes may attribute to haughtiness in response to fame, fortune and the opposite sex suddenly attracted to them, if the hero is coincidentally good looking. During the summer of 2013, I did extensive field research in and near the Cabo Blanco Absolute reserve focusing on forest succession within the scope of the unique continuous conservation efforts of the national government. A total of thirty (0.02 hectare) forest inventory plots were laid out. Species composition and population structure of tree species were characterized representing 28 year old and 50 year old successional forests, and small areas of primary forest. The researchshowed that longevity of growth and area use were determining factors in the species that occurred. When an area had been undisturbed and allowed to grow for a longer period, there was more speciation resembling primary forest. Suggesting for the areas studied, that if left undisturbed long enough, an area s speciation will resemble primary forest.
