Beerohm Response
2. The distinction Beerbohm makes between going out for a walk and being taken out for a walk is
that going out for a walk requires your own motivation and pride. He thinks that going out for a walk
escorts your brain to shutdown mode, as shown when he says, My objection to it is that it stops the
brain...This boast is not confirmed by my memory of anybody who on a Sunday morning has forced
me to partake of his adventure. He also thinks that going out for a walk means that it is your body s
way of saying you are, in a sense, superior, as shown when he says, The body is going out because the
mere fact of its doing so is a sure indication of nobility, probity, and rugged grandeur of character.
Beerohm thinks that being taken out for a walk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This excuse does not work because 1) it is not believed, 2) it forces you to improvise some sort of
action, whether it be writing a letter or cleaning your house, and 3) it won t operate on Sunday
mornings. 4. Beerohm s thesis for this essay begins and ends when he says, Walking for walking s
sake may be as highly laudable and exemplary a thing as it is held to be by those who practise it. My
objection to it is that it stops the brain. This is his thesis because he is putting forward a
statement/theory which must be proved. 5. This essay is an informal essay. This is because through out
this essay, the author writes in first person, as shown when he says, It is a fact that not once in all my
life have I gone out for a walk. The use of I and my prove that he is writing in first person. This is also
an informal essay because the author relates certain points to his own life, which is shown when he
says, We pass an inn. He reads vapidly aloud to me: `The King s Arms. Licensed to sell Ales and
Spirits. Here, the author is relating to his experience walking while out for a walk with an
acquaintance. This essay is informal because of the tone. The tone of this essay is very loose and
comedic. This essay is informal because the structure is very loose, and rather unorganized. The
author jumps from personal experiences to personal thoughts, and there is no first, second, third type
of structure. Finally, this essay is an informal essay because the purpose is to reflect

Is Weber s Idea Of Economic Traditionalism
Is weber s idea of economic traditionalism analysis relevant to the study of religion?
Introduction
The core of research on religion at present is of no doubt touching Max Weber s ideas on economic
traditionalism. Weber in Solimano (2012: 42) talked about the importance of religion, especially the
Protestant ethic in economic life. By venturing into the field of sociology of religion, Weber further
succeeded in arousing many scholars interest in the study of different religions in the contemporary
world. Agbikimi (2014: 30) notes that Weber s theory of religion has to do with the interaction
between society and religion . This essay, discusses interia Webber s prominent writings on religion
which are in fact related to economic traditionalism and the study of religion. The Protestant Ethic and
the Spirit of Capitalism has been widely discussed in this essay. Berger (2010: 3) argued that it
indicates the continued relevance of Weber s analysis regarding the correlation of the religion and
economic development.
The essay concludes that, Weber s economic traditionalism analysis is to a greater extent relevant in
the study of religion today because of the sense it gives for religious significance which is linked to
economic activities and the overall image of the world. Sung Ho (2012: 1) supports this conclusion by
stating that Weber s wide ranging contributions gave critical impetus to the birth of new academic
disciplines such as sociology and public administration as

The Disproportionate Incarceration Of African American...
The Disproportionate Incarceration of African American Males
The United States currently has the highest incarcerated population in the world with 2.2 million
adults incarcerated in 2014 (Kaeble, Glaze, Tsoutis, Minton, 2016). African American males represent
a disproportionate amount of the incarcerated population, which is defined by those confined in either
prison or jail (Crutchfield Weeks, 2015). Although, African Americans account for roughly 13% of the
United States population, they comprised 37% of the male prison population (Carson, 2015; U.S.
Census Bureau, 2016) and 35.4% of the male jail population within the United States in 2014 (Minton
Zeng, 2015). The imprisonment of over 750,000 African American males constitutes a social issue
because it targets a historically oppressed minority causing rippling social and economic effects
throughout the country.
Vulnerability to Incarceration Within African American communities, individuals with low incomes or
low education levels are at increased risk of incarceration due to less options for legal employment
and little resources to successfully navigate the legal system (Crutchfield and Weeks, 2015; Mtichell
Caudy, 2015; Pettit Western, 2004). Although the incarceration of black people is an international
issue (Warde, 2013) which affects both men and women (Christian Thomas, 2009), the substantial size
of the African American male incarcerated population within the United States suggest that this a

New Spain And New France In The New World
During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, New Spain and New France came to the New world
for two different reasons. New France came to the new world in search of a new west passage and
Spain came in search of gold and religious freedom. They both wanted to spread their religious beliefs
through missionaries. The Spanish were the first to establish large settlements. The Spanish had over
200 cities by 1570. The French didn t start colonizing until 1604. The first French colony was Acadia
and Quebec which came years later in 1608. The Spanish had a huge head start on colonization over
New France but they both thrived in their own ways by using Natural Resources and slaves. Slaves in
Spain were mostly Native Americans. New Spain valued Native Americans because they knew the
land. The Native Americans knew the land so well that farming was easy for them. Not only did the
Spanish enslave Native Americans but they also used some Africans for slave labor. The Spanish
colonies eventually used African slaves only because the Natives often died from diseases. The same
diseases the Europeans had brought over from England. Spain also had indentured servant who would
work for a couple of years. In exchange for their work they would get food, clothing and a way to the
new world. New France used Africans for slaves because they could get them in large amount. The
French had many plantations that requires a lot of labor and because African slaves were cheap they
had lots of them.

Psych 101 Assignment
Over the semester, I have learned about many new and interesting topics in Psych 101. The one that
stood out to me the most was attachment and the study that Harry Harlow performed with the baby
monkeys. The study was very sad, but interesting. Attachment is formed as children (or monkeys in
this case) create relationships, interact with each other, and understand/manage their feelings. A few
questions researchers have been eager to answer are: how do parents and children form bonds? How
does neglect affect these bonds? Well, the study done by Harlow and a few others, answers those
questions for us. In the 1950 s, Harry experimented on monkeys. He separated the baby monkeys from
their mothers, giving them two different surrogate mothers to see which one they preferred. One of the
surrogate mothers was made out of wire and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A child will prefer his parent over a stranger. They are there as a safety base for the child to explore.
When the parent leaves the room, the child becomes upset, but when they returned, the child returns
back to normal and is excited to see the parent. These kinds of children have parents who are always
there for the child when it comes to their needs. Avoidant attachment: when the child ignore the
parent, doesn t use the parent as a secure base and isn t upset when the parent leaves the room. I read
that the child reacts to the parent the same way they would react to a stranger. When the parent returns
to the room, the child cares very little or not at all. Resistant attachment: child is really clingy to
parents. Child does not leave the mother in the room to explore. When the parent leaves, the child is
extremely upset and when they return, it takes a long time for the child to return to a normal state.
Disorganized attachment is the last type. This is most common in children who are abused at home.
The child will run around the room, unsure of what they re

Gold Diggers Of 1933 Analysis
The classic film Gold Diggers Of 1933 is based in the era of the Great Depression, the aftermath of
World War I which lasted from 1929 to 1939 thus the result to World War II. The Great Depression
occurred during the time when films were evolving and becoming hits, but made it hard for film
producers and companies since money was tight, unless you were rich and born into wealth like Brad
Roberts in the film, who could easily just loan the money to the film makers. The time period and film
go hand in hand as it relates to the time where life was tough in America and money wasn t a easy
thing to have access at all times. Clearly the film Gold Diggers Of 1933 indicates the time period of
American life and The Great Depression
Throughout the film many references are made about the era, since the movie is a film within a film
and in the beginning scene filmmaker, producer Barney Hopkins is going through practice with the
show girls who are singing Were In The Money in the musical which talks about the Depression era
ending and being long gone, Ginger Rogers sings And so we re in the money Look up, the skies are

right after the song ends, the police make way into the set and shut it all down, due to Hopkins not
having enough money to pay for bills, fees and production cost to carry forward with the musical. It is
clear that no one could afford anything and unfortunately drove

Influence Of Food On Society
The Influence of Food on Human Society Food is the largest factor in the changes of humanity,
making life what it is today. From the places people live to the ideas and beliefs of the public, food is
responsible for many people s outlook on life. In the book, An Edible History of Humanity written by
Tom Standage, the history of food and how it shaped the world are displayed. Food has had many
political and social influences on society, ultimately changing the world. The political and social
impacts of food are very similar on society when examining the globalization in the world, caution
about planting and eating different foods, and the competition between people, but food also has many
contrasting effects on society such as the freedoms given to people, the spreading of wealth and power
throughout a community, and the population of the world today. Primarily, the globalization in society
can be traced back to food s influence on European exploration and the cultural connection created
during the airlifts into West Germany. Beginning in the 15th century, countries in Europe had a
political race to explore the unknown world. Once arriving in foreign lands, explorers discovered
unique crops only located in these areas. The foods unique to these places sparked interest in countries
and encouraged them to send expeditions to these new locations. As the search for new and different
foods spanned the globe, people, beliefs, and culture from these places were spread

Black Leadership, Politics, and Culture in Uplifting the Race by Kevin Gaines
Uplifting the Race is a rather confusing yet stimulating study that goes over the rising idea and
interests in the evolution of racial uplift ideology from the turn and through the twentieth century. In
the first part of the book, Gaines analyzes the black elite obsession with racial uplift ideology and the
tensions it produced among black intellectuals. Gaines argues for the most part that during the
nineteenth century racial uplift ideology was part of a liberation theology as stated by Gaines, which
stressed a group struggle for freedom and social advancement. In this particular piece by Gaines,
offers a close analysis of the racial, class, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Example, the first three chapters describe some of the more pertinent concerns and problems
inherent in the uplift ideology. In an fascinating and absorbing manner, yet one that is somewhat
perplexing, as is most of this book, in my opinion, the author encounters difficulties in three particular
areas, the first being the somewhat clear uplift of decline of the notions of black politics, and how
issues surrounding the political arena was somewhat adversely against black and also it show how the
during the turn of the century, many black use politics as a mean a gaining some place in society.
Second address the lower socioeconomic classes and how some doctrines such as separate but equal
was in place not only to hinder the black race but to advance the majority in the United States as well
as Jim Crow Laws. These were a series of laws enacted mostly in the Southern United States in the
later half of the 19th century that restricted most of the new privileges granted to African American
after the Civil War. The discriminatory Jim Crow laws were enacted to support the notion of racial
segregation. They required black and white people to use separate water fountains, public schools,
public bathhouses, restaurants, public libraries, and rail cars in public transit. Originally called the
Black Codes they later became known as Jim Crow laws, after a familiar minstrel character of the day.

Theme Of Coming Of Age In Catcher In The Rye
The main character of J.D. Salinger s novel, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield is only in his
teens, attending High School, yet longs for his early childhood. He can be seen trying to hold onto the
past by acting various ways. The author, meanwhile, uses symbolism to demonstrate the effects of a
loss of innocence, and the effects of coming of age. J.D. Salinger s novel The Catcher in the Rye
shows, through moderately relatable eyes, the changes and realities that we must all accept, and what
we must lose as we all come of age, taking a step into the adult world. Analyzing Holden s character
as for a biography, the reader will likely conclude that he acts no better than a hyperactive child; with
little in the way of understanding the fact that all actions come with consequences. There is what he
likes which seems to be little and what he dislikes which he often proceeds to call phony. His
vocabulary is limited, vernacular simple, phrases repetitious, and he frequently moves to tangents;
Holden acts as a child would. He has held onto what he perceives children doing, saying, thinking, and
has incorporated that into himself. This is not because he has yet to lose his innocence, but because he
feels he must hold on to what he believes he still has so that he may live a happy life. This is best seen
by the reader when Holden divulges into one of his previously mentioned tangents, which often take
on a more somber or aggressive tone towards something in the

Categorization Between Racial Selection And Natural Selection
The racial categories, while seemingly culturally meaningful, are biologically arbitrary. Racial statutes
cannot be mapped accurately in the human genome, or as a set of traits. Traits generally ascribed to a
certain race rarely only occur within that race. Natural selection and evolution are mechanisms that
distribute variation in ways that are not concordant with racial categorization. In order to understand
the variation within the human race, one must understand how advantageous traits are passed on
through generations, and that these traits are advantageous for a specific environmental situation.
Some examples of these variations are dark skin, sickle cell disease, and nasal morphology. Dark skin,
which is usually the defining trait for racial categories, has a very clear evolutionary history, which is
not racially significant. Dark skin does not vary like a multiple choice selection; rather, skin color is
variable on a continuous scale. Continuous variation allows variation to be expressed on a gradient.
Skin color is a particularly adept example of how variation can be gradated. The Way skin color is
expressed as a physical trait is through a pigment in cells called melanin. Along with melanin
variability, the amount of hemoglobin, which shows up as the reddish tints in skin ... Show more

Due to the way natural selection and evolution take place, human variation occurs outside of the static
racial categories that has persisted throughout history. These categories are based on variable physical
traits that give no reliable information about the group as a whole. The idea that these categories are
biologically meaningful is not only false, but can be harmful as well. When racial paradigms are
applied in the real world, the results are sometimes harmful. Understanding that racial categories are
arbitrary in a biological sense is beneficial to society as a

The American Blackface Minstrelsy Is An American Form Of...
Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form
such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or
emotional power (Dictionary.com). During the 1830 s a form of art mimicking and degrading African
American began to arise, this art form is what we know of as the American blackface minstrelsy.
During this time period African Americans are viewed as inferior to the white man. They were viewed
as uneducated, barbaric, lackadaisical, and had additional negative stigmas surrounding them. This
impacted them in a negative way and resulted in it being challenging for African Americans to
flourish. With African Americans having these negative stigmas surrounding them on the way they
spoke, their punctuality, their demeanor, i.e., this lead to the creation on the American blackface
minstrelsy to come into existence. The American blackface minstrelsy is an American form of
entertainment, which was founded by Thomas Rice, Dan Emmett, Edwin P. Christy and Stephen
Foster whom was the major white innovator of the minstrel music. Rice, was born in New York in
1808. He tried unsuccessfully to break into New York theater, then drifted west, working as stagehand

Astrology Vs Astronomy Essay
Astronomy versus Astrology
Astronomy is a science that studies everything outside of the earth s atmosphere, such as planets, stars,
asteroids, galaxies; and the properties and relationships of those spiritual bodies. Astronomers base
their studies on research and observation. Astrology, on the other hand, is the belief that the
positioning of the stars and planets affect the way events occur on earth. If you re interested in the
solar system and the planets, other celestial objects like asteroids and comets, other galaxies and the
rest of the universe, what makes up space, and the possibility of alien life or space travel, astronomy is
the field you re considering. Astronomy is a natural science that studies celestial objects and
phenomena. It applies mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in an effort to explain the origin of those
objects and phenomena and their evolution. Objects of interest include planets, moons, stars, galaxies,
and comets; while the phenomena include supernova explosions, gamma ray bursts, and cosmic
microwave background radiation. More generally, all astronomical phenomena that originate outside
Earth s atmosphere are within the purview of astronomy. A related but distinct subject, physical
cosmology, is concerned with the study of the Universe as a whole.
Astronomy is the oldest of the natural sciences. The early civilizations in recorded history, such as the
Babylonians, Greeks, Indians, Egyptians, Nubians, Iranians, Chinese, and Maya performed

Environmental Changes In Lord Of The Flies
People are subject to change their way of life when their environment changes. The novel Lord of the
Flies is written by William Golding. The novel about a group of british boys who get trapped on an
island during a time over. Over the course of time they spend on the island some of the boys go into a
savage state of mind. However some had balance between savagery and civilization. Throughout the
novel Golding reveals that humans are conditioned by their environment to behave in either moral, or
immoral ways. Ralph illustrates that humans personalities can change because of the environment they
are in. When Ralph joins one of the tribes dances, his savagery takes over when, Ralph, carried away
by a sudden thick excitement, grabbed Eric s spear and jabbed at Robert with it (114). This proves that
when someone s environment changes so does their personality. It displays that even the kindest of
people can succumb to the dark side. However, when the naval officer comes to rescue the boys Ralph

the boys immediately give up Ralph s hiding spot, You re sure he meant in there . The twin moaned

Are Gender Roles A Social Construct Essay
I am a strong believer that gender roles are a social construct. However, gender identity is not.
Therefore, it is very important to know the difference. Gender roles are defined as theoretical
constructs involving of social and behavioral norms that are widely considered to be socially
appropriate for individuals of a specific sex. The perception of gender roles includes attitudes, actions,
and personality traits associated with a particular gender within that culture. Gender roles are
predominantly considered within a family context as well as within society in general . I believe that

A woman is no less a woman when she possesses traditionally masculine qualities and a man is no less
a man when he possesses traditionally feminine qualities. Gender roles are outdated in modern society
and only cast a negative light on those who don t adhere to them. They no longer hold ground in our
society. Household chores are not gendered. There is no reason to believe that they are, just because a
certain group of people of one gender have been forced to occupy those roles for years, it doesn t
mean the activity is or should be gendered. Women are not better at household things and men are not
better at non household things. Everyone needs to learn to do what they need to do to survive. If
someone has a skill that does not stereotypically conform to their gender, they should be able to use

Conflict In Ernest Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants
How difficult is it to make a decision that could potentially ruin one s life? Ernest Hemingway s
explores this question in his short story, Hills Like White Elephants. The story is a consice
conversation between an American man and a girl. The names of the characters as well as their
relationship status remain unknown. For the entirety of the short story, the characters sit in a train
station perturbed about making a decision on a potential operation of the girl. The man and the girl go
back and forth debating what they should do about the operation. The story ends on a cliffhanger,
leaving the reader unaware of the girl s final resolution. In Hemingway s short story, Hills Like White
Elephants, his use of symbols, innuendos, and dialogue create a high level of tension for the man and
the girl which ultimately conveys the difficulty of the decision that the couple must make together.
Throughout the story, the man and the girl drink alcohol to distract them from dealing with their
problems. Every time the couple gets close to deciding what to do about the operation, one of them
suggests that they get another beer. In the story, the man says, I don t want you to do anything that you
don t want to do. The girl answers with Nor that isn t good for me and the man replies Could we have
another beer? (Hemingway 125). The alcohol is their escape from reality. It calms them and helps
them avoid the situation at hand. The alcohol may have delayed the decision on the

within the United States. The populous has acquired a bad habit of turning to convenience foods
because of availability, taste and comfort. Thus to re direct the health of the nation, people need to
stop crippling their health by convenience foods and replace it with healthy, natural choices, otherwise
the health of all will continue to decline. The body responds differently to food types, either healthy or
convenience, and determines the mood and daily productivity of an individual. According to Donald
D. Hensrud, in order to enjoy an increase in energy and good feelings, eat more fruits and vegetables

On an average, large amount of fast foods consumed on a daily basis, leads to the deterioration of an
individuals bodily health over time. Consuming more fruits, vegetables and healthy foods, will
increase the life expectancy of most individuals. According to Donald D. Hensrud of the Mayo Clinic
on Healthy Weight, Eating well choosing a plant based diet, which emphasizes vegetables, fruits and
whole grains also will reduce your risks of some of our nation s biggest killers and related conditions.
Many cancers, heart disease and high blood pressure, among other conditions, are linked to diet, most
notably to diets high in fat and saturated fat. Even without weight loss, adopting a healthier eating
style can be beneficial. (Hensrud 49) The majority of Americans give the argument that healthy food
takes up too much time. They state that they do not have enough time to prepare healthy meals with a
busy schedule, whereas convenience foods are easily squeezed into a day. This common
misconception often inhibits the populous from exerting any energy toward trying to accommodate a
healthier lifestyle. As Hensrud states, Cooking healthfully is not difficult to do, but it may involve
rethinking your approach. (Hensrud 49) Just a little prior preparation cuts time and effort in a tight
schedule and healthy foods generally taste much better than foods from the local convenience
restaurant. When going the healthy route, many choices

The best environment to the grandparent will maybe be inside the classroom where it is less noisy or
just gently guiding to a quiet spot so the outside noise can be avoided. When talking to a person who
is hearing impaired I think it is crucial to face them when you are talking so to give them the best
opportunity to watch you as they may well be able to lip read. Speaking clearing and not fast gives
them the opportunity to catch every word without having to second guess what has been said. It is
important to state that although the grandparent has an hearing impairment making assumptions

The Main Categories Are Violent Crimes And Property Crimes
There are many different types of crime. The two main sub categories are violent crimes and property
crimes. Violent crimes are against people, such as murder, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery.
Property crimes include burglary, larceny theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. Young white males
commit the majority of both of these crimes, and make up more than half of the arrests of all crimes.
This is because society makes men feel like they have to show their masculinity and aggression and
competitiveness and fight the system and commit crimes, violent or property. People of all ages and
races, and women also commit many crimes, however. Still, the majority of crimes are committed by
young people, white people, and males, typically a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This social problem is so serious not just because of all of the consequences that follow it, but the
culture that has sprung up today that perpetuates rape and, especially, victim blaming. Child abuse is a
major social problem because many children are abused by their parents, sexually, mentally, or
physically, and some are even murdered by their parents. These abused children grow up to face future
mental health issues, as in depression, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, or low confidence and self
esteem. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, crosses ethnic and cultural lines, and is
present in all religions and at all levels of education. Child abuse is caused by multiple reasons
including stress from caring for children, especially if the child has a disability, special needs, or
particularly difficult behavior, a lack of resources necessary to properly care for a child, difficulty
controlling their anger (which can be due to physical or mental health problems such as depression
and anxiety, or alcohol or drug abuse), isolation from a family or community, personal problems like
marital conflict, unemployment, or financial difficulties, or a lack of maturity. These two crimes are
not the only two major or common ones, but as you can see, they are a much larger sub problem to the
big social problem of crime that they make crime an even more complex and important issue.
There are also many social dimensions of crime, such as how

The Victorian Age
The Victorian Age was a time of great change for the people of Great Britain. The Victorian Age lasted
from 1837 1901, and was named after Queen Victoria who reigned during the time. There were many
changes that occurred during this time, but one of the biggest ones was the rise of the middle class. As
the country became more developed, middle class economic interests became a priority. This led the
middle class to gain political power they previously never had. These new found powers help shape
the changes that would occur during this period. Victorian middle class economic interests gained
increasing political power as a result of the Reform Bill of 1832 in the following ways: extended
voting rights, gained representation to the new industrial towns, and allowed social reform. Victorian
middle class economic interests gained increasing political power as a result of the Reform Bill of
1832 by extending voting rights. Before the Reform Bill of 1832, voting was very limited in the
country. The Reform Bill extended the right to vote to all males owning property worth £10 or more in
annual rent (Greenblatt 1021). This enlarged the electorate by 50%, and granted the vote to the
propertied middle class. The Reform Bill allowed one in six males to vote, in order for the aristocracy
to retain parliamentary control. Even with these numbers, the Reform Bill still allowed more males to
vote. This led to the middle class having a major impact on legislation decisions, allowing

What Is Walzer s Theory Of Aggression
What is Walzer s Theory of Aggression ?
According to Michael Wazler, the theory of aggression implies to the ideologies of jus ad bellum as
detailed in the international law. He uses domestic correlation as the basis of the theory by explaining
how the rules that govern citizens apply to the international community. The rights that apply to the
citizens are similar to those of the states. He argues that Every violation of the territorial integrity or
political sovereignty of an independent state is called aggression He subdivides the theory into six
main points that act as the standards of comprehending war from a moral point of view.
The international community constitutes of independent nations that Wazler uses to demonstrate the
concept of a civilized society.
The states that form the international community have rights. The foundation of the rights is the rights
guaranteed to persons.
It is a crime for a state to use force against the other. Such actions comprise the state s rights.
The justification of violence as a means of defending oneself where individuals and states use it as a
method of enforcing laws
Hostility serves to validate war
It is possible to punish and ward off aggressors
Walzer seeks to point out that when states emphasize on their rights, they must also be (somehow) the
objects of punishment
How does Walzer modify that theory in the section of the book on jus ad bellum, and why does he feel
it needs modification?
He uses the

Suddenly, a women fell from the sky who was crazy and prying. She was so curious about everything
that each time she looked into something, she could imagine why does it happened, where did it came
from and how. One day, she went into the river where she found many companions. And she was the
one whom we call Charm . She was pregnant and reproduced two twins. One a girl and the another a
boy. The twins created deep valleys, mountains, forests, rivers , roses, etc.
And this way the summer and winter was created by both of them. When Charm looked around, she
saw a beautiful world. In the beginning God created the earth and heaven. Then he created day and
night, sun and moon and at last, he created humans. First man and then woman known as Adam and
Eve. And he places everything and everyone in a garden, a perfect world. No sickness, no death, no
hate, no hunger (King 2003,p. 21). But there was one rule, of every tree of a garden there was some
nuts and fruits, but none of them was supposed to eat anything. But next what happens is that Adam
and Eve breaks the rule. Eve takes a bite of an apple and brings it back for Adam to eat. Adam instead
of saying no, ate it. As soon as the rule has been broken, God seals it off and places an angel with a
fiery sword at the entrance and tosses Adam and Eve into a howling wilderness to fend for themselves,
a wilderness in which sickness and death, hate and hunger are their constant companions (King

It is our contention that RM is inherently an ethical activity, since enduring relationships cannot be
built or sustained without a solid moral foundation. Before moving on, it is important to define and
clarify our view of relationship marketing. As Kotler and Keller (2006), Gummesson (1999) and
others have stated, RM has the aim of building mutually satisfying long term relations with key parties
customers, suppliers, distributors in order to earn and retain their businesses. Norberg (2001) listed 14
definitions of RM taken from the literature during the last 15 years. Most of the definitions indicate
that there are separate phases of a relationship such as its foundation and maintenance. Furthermore,
elements like trust, equity and involvement tend to foster this bond and contribute to long term partner
satisfaction. This paper is divided into four parts. First, we examine the historical roots of relationship
marketing. The second section characterizes both the American and European views on RM. Third, we
present a model of ethical relationship marketing and discuss its components. Within the model, the
theory of virtue and several relevant virtues that we believe are essential for successful RM are
examined. In the subsequent discussion, we lay the groundwork for those who might attempt to
measure the presence of these characteristics in business and consumer partnerships that have been
claimed to be successful. Finally, we draw implications for

for any housing development applications in NSW (New South Wales). It forms part of BASIX which
aims to reduce water consumption and effluent flows, improve internal environmental quality
(thermal, acoustic, air quality, light quality), and reduce materials consumption with focus on
materials that have environmental impacts in their production (see page 17).
In addition, on the 2 December 2004, Lend Lease Property Management Australia (LLPMA) and EPA
signed a sustainability covenant, which was a commitment to the public that both organisations will
work together to protect and contribute to a more sustainable environment. The aim of this declaration
was to ensure that Lend Lease is empowered to develop a strategic approach to sustainability issues.
With this comes the responsibility to publicly report the progress towards achieving the sustainability

Propaganda During The Great War
The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U boats, and trench warfare, but it was a war of
propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape the
opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not just require innovative weapons, but also
innovative and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British, Germans and United States
governments specifically, invested a lot of resources into propaganda as a way to increase recruitment
numbers, build international support, and instill a sense of confidence in what was the Great War.
Countries had to not just focus their efforts on getting people from their own country to support them,
but also neutral countries, as well as having to focus on the enemies by use of atrocity propaganda. In
turn, this led to governments tampering with the human will, and even using deceit, all in an effort to
help solidify their sides victory. In turn, propaganda played a vital role in the Great War and
additionally created an everlasting influence on both war and media in the world today. Unlike
previous wars, this war required not just millions of men to serve their own countries, but it required
the support of all civilians to help play a role in the war efforts. M.L Saunders stated During the war,
sections of the community which has previously remained uninvolved in the exigencies of national
survival had found themselves directly affected by events at the front line. Life changed for

Nature in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birth-Mark and Wilfred...
Freedom is an entity that people desire to have in life. Nathaniel Hawthorne in The Birth Mark and
Wilfred Owens in Disabled both have similar plots about two peoples concern for nature. Nathaniel
Hawthorne The Birth Mark focuses on the importance of nature. In the story The Birth Mark, nature is
said to be the most compelling thing man has made. The main character Aylmer, a scientist, is
obsessed with perfection and nature. Aylmer is trying to live a life of fantasy because of his desire for
perfection. In addition, Aylmer marries a woman by the name of Georgiana. Georgiana is a high
spirited woman who has one imperfection, the red birth mark on her left cheek. Aylmer desires to have
a perfect wife. Aylmer believes he can fix his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of the stories use nature to make a valid point. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses nature to talk about his
wife s birth mark. Aylmer thinks his wife birth mark is interrupting the nature of man. Similar to the
poem Disabled, the poet believes that war interrupts nature. For example, when people think of the
sun, the sun helps facilitates man s growth. The sun is a force that guides the universe. The poet
believes that war disrupts nature s concern with life and death. Nature needs to take its course in the
world. During World War I, many soldiers were losing their life as a result of the war. Throughout the
poem, nature represents commotion. The narrator shows the side of nature by stating, And half his
lifetime lapsed in the hot race (Owens 898). The poet assumes he spent half of his life in tremulous
memories that almost cost him his life. As a result, the poet believes that war interrupts nature course
of life. According to Daniel Pigg, The touch itself redefines his nature and renders him as other,
separate and distinct (). Pigg reveals war interrupts nature. Similar to The Birth Mark Georgiana s
cheek symbolizes nature. In the story, Aylmer talks about the nature by muttering It was the fatal flaw
of humanity which nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffaceably on all her productions, either
to imply that they are temporary a finite, or that their perfection must be wrought by toil and pain
(Hawthorne 314). Georgiana birth mark causes

The Last Rung Of The Latter Short Story
In The Last Rung of the Latter by Stephen King, Larry, the narrator receives a letter from his younger
sister, Kitty, that she wrote before she committed suicide. Larry retells a story from their childhood in
which he saved Kitty s life after she climbed a broken latter while they were playing a game. In this
short story Larry is forced to come to terms with his sister s death and deal with the guilt of not being
able to save her this time. The change of setting, the theme of guilt, and the use of symbolism all
greatly add to the meaning of this short story. The contrast in setting in The Last Rung Of The Latter is
used to show a change in feeling and mood as the characters grow older. Larry describes the morning
of the accident fondly, remembering how good the barn felt that day. When he begins talking about the
day in the barn, Larry says, On a day like that, the only really nice place to be was the barn. It was
warm, filled with a pleasant mixed aroma of hay and fur and dung, and with the mysterious clucking,
cooing sounds of the barn swallows high up in the third loft. (King 2). This quote indicates that Larry
thought of the barn as a homey and warm place. He does not dislike the setting of his childhood home,
despite the fact that is sister almost died on his terms while they were there. On the contrary, when
Larry speaks about where he lives in the present he seems to resent the constant moving and changing
of his life. Larry even says that, People move around

The Gladiator VS. History Essay
I m sure that many people have seen the movie the, Gladiator and thought that most if not all of it was
true. Sadly this movie paints a picture that falls short of fact and leans more towards fiction. Winning
5 academy awards it is a hit with the audience but with historians a bust. This is mainly due to the
inconsistencies revolving around character portrayals, events, and even characters that don t exist. I m
sure that this is because the truth wouldn t fair as well as the movie did. Moreover the, Gladiator
which is a winner of many academy awards does not win much in the depiction of characters and
events. Gladiator begins in 180 A.D in the winter time on a battlefield in Germania. The first error is
around the character Caesar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another mistake within this movie was showing Marcus Aurelis as only having 2 children, Lucilla and
Commodus, but Marcus Aurelius actually had 13 children (Gill N.S.). Leaving off with the opening of
this movie the biggest historical mistake overall revolves around the leading character and hero of this
movie, Maximus. This is because he is entirely made up, he did not exist. So every event or action that
involves him is false. Lucilla and he never had relations when they were younger, he didn t kill
anyone, and he was not supposed to be the protector of Rome like they showed Marcus Aurelis
wanting. Although Maximus may be a compilation of people who were real. For instance the man who
did command the battle in the opening scene which most likely occured in 179 was Taruttiens
Paternus. Also how he longed to be home and his family are from Claudius Pompeianus who was a
military officer whose career resembled Maximus s (Ward). A short while after the opening scene we
are transported to North African Zucchabar where yet more inaccuracies occur. The first being the
misconception from the movie that Gladiator games had been banned by Maximus Aurelis. This is
stated by the character Proximo who purchased Maximus to be one of his gladiators. He described
how he was forced to make a living due to the games being banned. Also the Coliseum is supposed to
have been reopened by Commodus to host games to honor his father. Commodus does this

Period 6 Major events that shaped America Over the course of The United States of America, many
events have shaped the country both for bad and good. Another such event is the Roaring Twenties.
The final event that shaped America was The Great Depression. These are only a few of the many
events that can be attributed to be an event that shaped The United States. One event that greatly
changed America was WWI. The best part about it was the industry boom. The manufactures gain so
much business that they had to create new technologies to manufacture all their demand for the war
which ended up creating many more jobs, even for women and African Americans. This is where the
good parts of the War end. By the end of the war, 117,465 Americans lost their lives fighting and to

  • 2. Beerohm Response 2. The distinction Beerbohm makes between going out for a walk and being taken out for a walk is that going out for a walk requires your own motivation and pride. He thinks that going out for a walk escorts your brain to shutdown mode, as shown when he says, My objection to it is that it stops the brain...This boast is not confirmed by my memory of anybody who on a Sunday morning has forced me to partake of his adventure. He also thinks that going out for a walk means that it is your body s way of saying you are, in a sense, superior, as shown when he says, The body is going out because the mere fact of its doing so is a sure indication of nobility, probity, and rugged grandeur of character. Beerohm thinks that being taken out for a walk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This excuse does not work because 1) it is not believed, 2) it forces you to improvise some sort of action, whether it be writing a letter or cleaning your house, and 3) it won t operate on Sunday mornings. 4. Beerohm s thesis for this essay begins and ends when he says, Walking for walking s sake may be as highly laudable and exemplary a thing as it is held to be by those who practise it. My objection to it is that it stops the brain. This is his thesis because he is putting forward a statement/theory which must be proved. 5. This essay is an informal essay. This is because through out this essay, the author writes in first person, as shown when he says, It is a fact that not once in all my life have I gone out for a walk. The use of I and my prove that he is writing in first person. This is also an informal essay because the author relates certain points to his own life, which is shown when he says, We pass an inn. He reads vapidly aloud to me: `The King s Arms. Licensed to sell Ales and Spirits. Here, the author is relating to his experience walking while out for a walk with an acquaintance. This essay is informal because of the tone. The tone of this essay is very loose and comedic. This essay is informal because the structure is very loose, and rather unorganized. The author jumps from personal experiences to personal thoughts, and there is no first, second, third type of structure. Finally, this essay is an informal essay because the purpose is to reflect ... • 3. Is Weber s Idea Of Economic Traditionalism Is weber s idea of economic traditionalism analysis relevant to the study of religion? Introduction The core of research on religion at present is of no doubt touching Max Weber s ideas on economic traditionalism. Weber in Solimano (2012: 42) talked about the importance of religion, especially the Protestant ethic in economic life. By venturing into the field of sociology of religion, Weber further succeeded in arousing many scholars interest in the study of different religions in the contemporary world. Agbikimi (2014: 30) notes that Weber s theory of religion has to do with the interaction between society and religion . This essay, discusses interia Webber s prominent writings on religion which are in fact related to economic traditionalism and the study of religion. The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism has been widely discussed in this essay. Berger (2010: 3) argued that it indicates the continued relevance of Weber s analysis regarding the correlation of the religion and economic development. The essay concludes that, Weber s economic traditionalism analysis is to a greater extent relevant in the study of religion today because of the sense it gives for religious significance which is linked to economic activities and the overall image of the world. Sung Ho (2012: 1) supports this conclusion by stating that Weber s wide ranging contributions gave critical impetus to the birth of new academic disciplines such as sociology and public administration as ... • 4. The Disproportionate Incarceration Of African American... The Disproportionate Incarceration of African American Males The United States currently has the highest incarcerated population in the world with 2.2 million adults incarcerated in 2014 (Kaeble, Glaze, Tsoutis, Minton, 2016). African American males represent a disproportionate amount of the incarcerated population, which is defined by those confined in either prison or jail (Crutchfield Weeks, 2015). Although, African Americans account for roughly 13% of the United States population, they comprised 37% of the male prison population (Carson, 2015; U.S. Census Bureau, 2016) and 35.4% of the male jail population within the United States in 2014 (Minton Zeng, 2015). The imprisonment of over 750,000 African American males constitutes a social issue because it targets a historically oppressed minority causing rippling social and economic effects throughout the country. Vulnerability to Incarceration Within African American communities, individuals with low incomes or low education levels are at increased risk of incarceration due to less options for legal employment and little resources to successfully navigate the legal system (Crutchfield and Weeks, 2015; Mtichell Caudy, 2015; Pettit Western, 2004). Although the incarceration of black people is an international issue (Warde, 2013) which affects both men and women (Christian Thomas, 2009), the substantial size of the African American male incarcerated population within the United States suggest that this a ... • 5. New Spain And New France In The New World During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, New Spain and New France came to the New world for two different reasons. New France came to the new world in search of a new west passage and Spain came in search of gold and religious freedom. They both wanted to spread their religious beliefs through missionaries. The Spanish were the first to establish large settlements. The Spanish had over 200 cities by 1570. The French didn t start colonizing until 1604. The first French colony was Acadia and Quebec which came years later in 1608. The Spanish had a huge head start on colonization over New France but they both thrived in their own ways by using Natural Resources and slaves. Slaves in Spain were mostly Native Americans. New Spain valued Native Americans because they knew the land. The Native Americans knew the land so well that farming was easy for them. Not only did the Spanish enslave Native Americans but they also used some Africans for slave labor. The Spanish colonies eventually used African slaves only because the Natives often died from diseases. The same diseases the Europeans had brought over from England. Spain also had indentured servant who would work for a couple of years. In exchange for their work they would get food, clothing and a way to the new world. New France used Africans for slaves because they could get them in large amount. The French had many plantations that requires a lot of labor and because African slaves were cheap they had lots of them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Psych 101 Assignment Over the semester, I have learned about many new and interesting topics in Psych 101. The one that stood out to me the most was attachment and the study that Harry Harlow performed with the baby monkeys. The study was very sad, but interesting. Attachment is formed as children (or monkeys in this case) create relationships, interact with each other, and understand/manage their feelings. A few questions researchers have been eager to answer are: how do parents and children form bonds? How does neglect affect these bonds? Well, the study done by Harlow and a few others, answers those questions for us. In the 1950 s, Harry experimented on monkeys. He separated the baby monkeys from their mothers, giving them two different surrogate mothers to see which one they preferred. One of the surrogate mothers was made out of wire and ... When the parent leaves the room, the child becomes upset, but when they returned, the child returns back to normal and is excited to see the parent. These kinds of children have parents who are always there for the child when it comes to their needs. Avoidant attachment: when the child ignore the parent, doesn t use the parent as a secure base and isn t upset when the parent leaves the room. I read that the child reacts to the parent the same way they would react to a stranger. When the parent returns to the room, the child cares very little or not at all. Resistant attachment: child is really clingy to parents. Child does not leave the mother in the room to explore. When the parent leaves, the child is extremely upset and when they return, it takes a long time for the child to return to a normal state. Disorganized attachment is the last type. This is most common in children who are abused at home. The child will run around the room, unsure of what they re ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Gold Diggers Of 1933 Analysis The classic film Gold Diggers Of 1933 is based in the era of the Great Depression, the aftermath of World War I which lasted from 1929 to 1939 thus the result to World War II. The Great Depression occurred during the time when films were evolving and becoming hits, but made it hard for film producers and companies since money was tight, unless you were rich and born into wealth like Brad Roberts in the film, who could easily just loan the money to the film makers. The time period and film go hand in hand as it relates to the time where life was tough in America and money wasn t a easy thing to have access at all times. Clearly the film Gold Diggers Of 1933 indicates the time period of American life and The Great Depression Throughout the film many references are made about the era, since the movie is a film within a film and in the beginning scene filmmaker, producer Barney Hopkins is going through practice with the show girls who are singing Were In The Money in the musical which talks about the Depression era ending and being long gone, Ginger Rogers sings And so we re in the money Look up, the skies are sunny Old man depression, you are through You done us wrong . • 10. Influence Of Food On Society The Influence of Food on Human Society Food is the largest factor in the changes of humanity, making life what it is today. From the places people live to the ideas and beliefs of the public, food is responsible for many people s outlook on life. In the book, An Edible History of Humanity written by Tom Standage, the history of food and how it shaped the world are displayed. Food has had many political and social influences on society, ultimately changing the world. The political and social impacts of food are very similar on society when examining the globalization in the world, caution about planting and eating different foods, and the competition between people, but food also has many contrasting effects on society such as the freedoms given to people, the spreading of wealth and power throughout a community, and the population of the world today. Primarily, the globalization in society can be traced back to food s influence on European exploration and the cultural connection created during the airlifts into West Germany. Beginning in the 15th century, countries in Europe had a political race to explore the unknown world. Once arriving in foreign lands, explorers discovered unique crops only located in these areas. The foods unique to these places sparked interest in countries and encouraged them to send expeditions to these new locations. As the search for new and different foods spanned the globe, people, beliefs, and culture from these places were spread ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Black Leadership, Politics, and Culture in Uplifting the Race by Kevin Gaines Uplifting the Race is a rather confusing yet stimulating study that goes over the rising idea and interests in the evolution of racial uplift ideology from the turn and through the twentieth century. In the first part of the book, Gaines analyzes the black elite obsession with racial uplift ideology and the tensions it produced among black intellectuals. Gaines argues for the most part that during the nineteenth century racial uplift ideology was part of a liberation theology as stated by Gaines, which stressed a group struggle for freedom and social advancement. In this particular piece by Gaines, offers a close analysis of the racial, class, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For Example, the first three chapters describe some of the more pertinent concerns and problems inherent in the uplift ideology. In an fascinating and absorbing manner, yet one that is somewhat perplexing, as is most of this book, in my opinion, the author encounters difficulties in three particular areas, the first being the somewhat clear uplift of decline of the notions of black politics, and how issues surrounding the political arena was somewhat adversely against black and also it show how the during the turn of the century, many black use politics as a mean a gaining some place in society. Second address the lower socioeconomic classes and how some doctrines such as separate but equal was in place not only to hinder the black race but to advance the majority in the United States as well as Jim Crow Laws. These were a series of laws enacted mostly in the Southern United States in the later half of the 19th century that restricted most of the new privileges granted to African American after the Civil War. The discriminatory Jim Crow laws were enacted to support the notion of racial segregation. They required black and white people to use separate water fountains, public schools, public bathhouses, restaurants, public libraries, and rail cars in public transit. • 12. Theme Of Coming Of Age In Catcher In The Rye The main character of J.D. Salinger s novel, The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield is only in his teens, attending High School, yet longs for his early childhood. He can be seen trying to hold onto the past by acting various ways. The author, meanwhile, uses symbolism to demonstrate the effects of a loss of innocence, and the effects of coming of age. J.D. Salinger s novel The Catcher in the Rye shows, through moderately relatable eyes, the changes and realities that we must all accept, and what we must lose as we all come of age, taking a step into the adult world. Analyzing Holden s character as for a biography, the reader will likely conclude that he acts no better than a hyperactive child; with little in the way of understanding the fact that all actions come with consequences. There is what he likes which seems to be little and what he dislikes which he often proceeds to call phony. His vocabulary is limited, vernacular simple, phrases repetitious, and he frequently moves to tangents; Holden acts as a child would. He has held onto what he perceives children doing, saying, thinking, and has incorporated that into himself. This is not because he has yet to lose his innocence, but because he feels he must hold on to what he believes he still has so that he may live a happy life. This is best seen by the reader when Holden divulges into one of his previously mentioned tangents, which often take on a more somber or aggressive tone towards something in the ... • 13. Categorization Between Racial Selection And Natural Selection The racial categories, while seemingly culturally meaningful, are biologically arbitrary. Racial statutes cannot be mapped accurately in the human genome, or as a set of traits. Traits generally ascribed to a certain race rarely only occur within that race. Natural selection and evolution are mechanisms that distribute variation in ways that are not concordant with racial categorization. In order to understand the variation within the human race, one must understand how advantageous traits are passed on through generations, and that these traits are advantageous for a specific environmental situation. Some examples of these variations are dark skin, sickle cell disease, and nasal morphology. Dark skin, which is usually the defining trait for racial categories, has a very clear evolutionary history, which is not racially significant. Dark skin does not vary like a multiple choice selection; rather, skin color is variable on a continuous scale. Continuous variation allows variation to be expressed on a gradient. Skin color is a particularly adept example of how variation can be gradated. The Way skin color is expressed as a physical trait is through a pigment in cells called melanin. Along with melanin variability, the amount of hemoglobin, which shows up as the reddish tints in skin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With African Americans having these negative stigmas surrounding them on the way they spoke, their punctuality, their demeanor, i.e., this lead to the creation on the American blackface minstrelsy to come into existence. It is our contention that RM is inherently an ethical activity, since enduring relationships cannot be built or sustained without a solid moral foundation. Before moving on, it is important to define and clarify our view of relationship marketing. As Kotler and Keller (2006), Gummesson (1999) and others have stated, RM has the aim of building mutually satisfying long term relations with key parties customers, suppliers, distributors in order to earn and retain their businesses. Norberg (2001) listed 14 definitions of RM taken from the literature during the last 15 years. Most of the definitions indicate that there are separate phases of a relationship such as its foundation and maintenance. Furthermore, elements like trust, equity and involvement tend to foster this bond and contribute to long term partner satisfaction. This paper is divided into four parts. First, we examine the historical roots of relationship marketing. The second section characterizes both the American and European views on RM. Third, we present a model of ethical relationship marketing and discuss its components. Within the model, the theory of virtue and several relevant virtues that we believe are essential for successful RM are examined. In the subsequent discussion, we lay the groundwork for those who might attempt to measure the presence of these characteristics in business and consumer partnerships that have been claimed to be successful. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not just require innovative weapons, but also innovative and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British, Germans and United States governments specifically, invested a lot of resources into propaganda as a way to increase recruitment numbers, build international support, and instill a sense of confidence in what was the Great War. Countries had to not just focus their efforts on getting people from their own country to support them, but also neutral countries, as well as having to focus on the enemies by use of atrocity propaganda. When he begins talking about the day in the barn, Larry says, On a day like that, the only really nice place to be was the barn. It was warm, filled with a pleasant mixed aroma of hay and fur and dung, and with the mysterious clucking, cooing sounds of the barn swallows high up in the third loft. (King 2). This quote indicates that Larry thought of the barn as a homey and warm place. He does not dislike the setting of his childhood home, despite the fact that is sister almost died on his terms while they were there. On the contrary, when Larry speaks about where he lives in the present he seems to resent the constant moving and changing of his life. Larry even says that, People move around ... • 34. The Gladiator VS. History Essay I m sure that many people have seen the movie the, Gladiator and thought that most if not all of it was true. Sadly this movie paints a picture that falls short of fact and leans more towards fiction. Winning 5 academy awards it is a hit with the audience but with historians a bust. This is mainly due to the inconsistencies revolving around character portrayals, events, and even characters that don t exist. I m sure that this is because the truth wouldn t fair as well as the movie did. Moreover the, Gladiator which is a winner of many academy awards does not win much in the depiction of characters and events. Gladiator begins in 180 A.D in the winter time on a battlefield in Germania. The first error is around the character Caesar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another mistake within this movie was showing Marcus Aurelis as only having 2 children, Lucilla and Commodus, but Marcus Aurelius actually had 13 children (Gill N.S.). Leaving off with the opening of this movie the biggest historical mistake overall revolves around the leading character and hero of this movie, Maximus. This is because he is entirely made up, he did not exist. So every event or action that involves him is false. Lucilla and he never had relations when they were younger, he didn t kill anyone, and he was not supposed to be the protector of Rome like they showed Marcus Aurelis wanting. Although Maximus may be a compilation of people who were real. For instance the man who did command the battle in the opening scene which most likely occured in 179 was Taruttiens Paternus. Also how he longed to be home and his family are from Claudius Pompeianus who was a military officer whose career resembled Maximus s (Ward). A short while after the opening scene we are transported to North African Zucchabar where yet more inaccuracies occur. The first being the misconception from the movie that Gladiator games had been banned by Maximus Aurelis. This is stated by the character Proximo who purchased Maximus to be one of his gladiators. He described how he was forced to make a living due to the games being banned. Also the Coliseum is supposed to have been reopened by Commodus to host games to honor his father. Commodus does this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People used this credit to buy automobiles (the Ford Model T cost just $260 in 1924) that were considered an affordable luxury with the prices.
