He never forgot the sights, sounds and smells of the hospital during that time. Those dates were the
dates of the infamous Battle of the Bulge! During that particular battle many of the soldiers were
wounded and killed while in tanks. Whenever an tank was bombed, the soldiers inside were literally
cooked alive. The tanks being completely metal, transferred the heat of the bombs to the vulnerable
soldiers. The loss of lives was devastating! The injuries were horrific.
During this time, as wounded and deceased soldiers arrived at the hospital in England, Joe was forever
affected by what he saw, smelled, and heard. The deceased were charred lumps. The smell of burned
flesh filled the nostrils of the medical staff. The painful wailing of the injured, suffering from horrific

Ever heard of a story of a little boy discovering fire for the first time? Well this little boy s mom had a
lighter that had a dolphin design on it and it was used as a decoration piece. So, the little boy found the
lighter and started to play with it and got it to work. He then proceeded to go into the bathroom so his
mom did not know what he was doing. The little boy started to put it up to stuff to see what would
happen. The first thing he grabbed was hairspray. He played with the hairspray and the lighter. He then
managed to light the toilet paper on fire which caused the whole bathroom to catch on fire. The boy s
