What effect does submerging an egg in substances with different concentrations have on the mass of
an egg?
Variables: Independent Variable: substance egg is soaked in Dependent Variable: mass of egg (in
grams)
Constant Variables: temperature of location, length of time egg is soaked for, amount of light received,
same type of egg,
Experimental Control: The experimental control for this experiment was the mass of the egg without
its shell (before the eggs were subjected to the different substances), because this is the number the
after masses will be compared to.
Hypothesis: If we submerge an egg without its shell into water, then the egg will swell and the mass of
that egg will increase. We also think that the opposite will occur with the egg submerged in syrup the
egg will shrink, causing the mass of the egg to decrease,

On day 2 of the lab, after both eggs had only been soaked in vinegar to remove their shells, both eggs

Abstract
Purpose: We recently demonstrated that pathologic analysis of benign scrotal surgical specimens may
be unnecessarily increasing costs of patient care. Adult circumcision specimens may also routinely be
sent for pathological analysis even when penile cancer is not suspected, increasing costs with little
benefit. To assess the utility of foreskin pathology analysis, we evaluated the outcomes and the costs
of this practice in patients where penile cancer was not suspected.
Materials and Methods: All adult patients who underwent circumcision between January 2000 and
August 2013 at a single institution were evaluated by retrospective chart review. Cases of suspected
penile cancer (n=6) were excluded. We identified cases where foreskin specimens were sent for
pathological analysis and reviewed pathology reports. Our Department of Pathology estimated the cost
for evaluation of specimens at $311 per case.
Results: A total of 147 circumcisions were performed in patients with no suspicious findings.
Pathologic analysis was obtained in 69% (101/147) of the cases. Inflammation (58%) was the most
common finding. One unsuspected instance of squamous cell carcinoma (Tis) was identified in a
patient with HIV (1/147=0.7%). The overall cost of pathology analysis in this study was $31,411.
Conclusions: In individuals without predisposing immunodeficiency and where cancer was not
suspected, we found that pathology analysis of circumcision specimens identified no additional

Media s Effects on Self Image Focus on self image is a major factor in everyday life for people today.
In recent years it has become an issue within the youth, and how they view their worth. There are
multiple causes of self image issues, but the main reasons are genetics, clinical depression, bullying,
past abuse, and media (Lifespan 1). Media has a strong influence on people s idea of what they should
look like physically and affect their mental state.
Seeing images of what mainstream people consider body goals on a regular basis can start to alter how

Many comment their opinions on people s post including cyberbullies. About half of young people
have experienced some form of cyberbullying, and 10 to 20 percent experience it regularly (Cyber
Bullying stat 1). Social media allows cyberbullies easy access to harass and tear people down; some
are even able to execute it without receiving any punishment. Cyber bullies are more likely to not get
caught being that it occurs so much; even the cyber bully is caught it is extremely difficult to get them
penalized. Victims that have dealt with cyber bullies tend to have a lower self esteem and find that
they are worthless. People are not aware of the result of cyberbullying almost 20% of kids
cyberbullied think about suicide, and 1 in 10 attempt it and 4500 kids commit suicide each year
(Cyberbullying ramp 1). The lowlifes that push people to these breaking points are a pest and deserve
