Cgony s Failure On The Western Front During The Vietnam War
Helped by air, strong points in defences would allow the French to block the Viet Minh s
supplies, compelling them to fall back. The plan was mainly based on the French success at the battle
of Na San the late 1952.
In June 1953,Major General Rene Cgony first thought of the idea creating a mooring point at Dien
Bien Phu in northwest Vietnam. While Cgony had visioned a slightly defended airbase, Navarre seized
on the location for trying the strong point approach.Though his soldiers protested, pointing out that
unlike the battle of Na San they would not hold the higher ground around the camp, Navarres planning
moved forward. On November 20, 1953, Operation Castor started and 9,000 French troops were were
dropped into the Dien Bien Phu area over the next few days.

Healthy Septic System

Total Words in this Document:
Title: Time for Laundry? How to Maintain a Healthy Septic System
Whether you ve chosen a septic system because it s an environmentally friendly option for your home
or because sewer isn t available where you live, a healthy septic system is vital for the long term care
of your household wastewater. Properly maintained systems can last for 25 to 30 years, and help to
keep groundwater clean and free of pollution, bacteria and viruses, as well as the nitrates and
phosphates that can cause algae bloom in bodies of water.
Many homeowners, though, want to know the best way to take care of their septic system, and one of
the best ways to do so is by understanding how laundry can affect the overall health of ... Show more

Certain cleaning agents, like bleach, soaps that aren t biodegradable, and antibacterial soaps, can
weaken and even kill the bacteria that maintains septic system health. Additionally, too much
detergent released into the tank can be the cause of clogged soil pores, preventing drainage and
inciting backups. Typically, liquid detergents are the best option when it comes to healthy septic
systems.
Certain detergents are labeled to be safe for septic tanks, and they are almost liquid, because they have
fewer ingredients that can be harmful for septic tanks. Some dry detergents use clay as a filler, which
will cause clogs. Others may include sodium as a filler, which can also cause problems.
Combining good laundry habits with the five most important tips that can protect your tank will help
your septic system operate at its best, giving you and your family peace of mind and a protected
investment that will keep the system running for 20 to 30 years. If you have a question about your
system, or want more information about how your laundry habits might affect your tank, call Paradise

The New House Construction Of Rylai Enterprises Near...
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report assesses two available locations for the new house construction of Rylai Enterprises near
University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). After reviewing the background, these two sites are the best for
the new house construction. The strategic and the features at both locations are the reason I chosen
both of them. However, I recommend we choose Taman Tas as our site for Rylai House Construction.
1.1 Background
Rylai Enterprises is a well known company and has the consistent performance in international level.
So, this is the huge opportunity for the company to run their business well by constructing single
storey terraced house. By the feedback we received, there are some UMP students people nearby
requesting a new house lot for their staying. Moreover, people who are working at UMP having a hard
day to find the house. Even worse the only available house is too far away for them. As you know,
house nowadays is so difficult to get because of the land available decrease year by year, yet the
landlord of both locations is willing to sell the land at low price and I m sure Rylai Company can
afford any one of them. We are planning to construct affordable house for the fresh graduate students
and for the adults these days. The house type is single storey terraced house with a newest design by
the architect Mr Tan Kai Jun. According to Mr Tan, every single house is complete with systematic
drainage system to prevent flood. In addition, the project cost should not

Detection or Identification of Trace Amounts of Explosives
The detection and/or identification of trace amounts of explosives.
The review of each method should include a description of the way the method works and the
advantages and drawbacks of the technique.
Introduction
An explosive, are reactive substances that contain a large amount of potential energy that can yield an
explosion if they are released rapidly, they are accompanied by the production of light, heat, sound,
and pressure. Mainly used in the mining industry for extraction of minerals and resources, explosives
have been used as a weapon of destruction. Explosives often contain oxidising substances such as
nitrates chlorates, and a binding agent such as ammonium and potassium, which can be detected and
analysed to prevent such substances from being used as a weapon.
Explosives detection is critically important in many field settings (e.g., military facilities, minefields,
crime scenes, and remediation sites) and has become a necessity for the safety of the general public
(e.g., at airports and mass transit areas), there remains a demand for inexpensive and reliable explosive
instruments for identifying specific explosives. High explosives are considered to be organic and
oxidizing, a relatively uncommon mixture that makes them tractable for molecular recognition.
On 22 December 2001 Richard Colvin Reid also known as the Shoe Bomber attempted to detonate
explosives packed into the shoes he was wearing, while on American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to
Miami.

The Aims and Principles of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act...
The Aims and Principles of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act
In the decades prior to the national reform of the Poor Law in 1834, the characterisations of the
administration were of variety rather than uniformity. The social and economic changes at this time
produced many problems for those that were responsible for the social welfare. Many areas
throughout the country though found solutions to this problem within the legal frame work of the
Elizabethan Poor Law of 1597 1601.
In the initial stages the amendment act was set up to reduce the amount of poor rates that were being
paid. In the first ten years of the amendment act the amount of relief being paid was reduced to a
national average of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way to stop this from happening was to reduce the fifteen thousand parishes into six hundred Poor
Law unions. There was a great willingness to keep the poor in one place and so by 1843 there was one
hundred and ninety seven thousand one hundred and seventy nine poor incarcerated into the
workhouses. The workhouses were often described as bastilles.
I do not agree with those who say that every man must look after himself, and that intervention by the
state, will be fatal to his self reliance, his foresight and his thrift…. It is a mistake to suppose that
thrift is caused only by fear; it springs from hope as well as fear. Where there is no hope, be sure there
will be no thrift . (Winston Churchill, Liberalism and the Social Problems, 1909, p. 209).
Many administrators were outraged at the idea of Central Government becoming involved in the
Amendment Act because as far as they were concerned the old system was more than sufficient for the
needs of the poor. The Poor Law Guardians then set about obstructing the Poor Law Amendment Act,
as they thought it was an unnecessary addition to the current act. The worst of the activities to block
this new act was in Huddersfield in the West Riding of Yorkshire. (As was).
The Amendment Act was supposed to help the poor but instead all it did was alienate those

Automobiles and Pollution Essay
Automobiles and Pollution
In years past, levels of air, noise, and sight pollution were much lower than they are today. There are
more cars on the road today, and because of this we experience higher levels of pollution than before.
The automobile is probably the leading contributor pollution in our cities. They release toxic
emissions into our atmosphere. Automobiles are linked particularly to carbon monoxide pollution.
They are noisy (especially if you are living near the highway), and they take up valuable space in the
form of vast parking lots that are unpleasing to the eye. Why are there more automobiles on the road
today than there was in the past? Understanding the answer to this question is important when trying

Americans are known for our passion for the automobile. The automobile symbolizes freedom and
independence. Freedom is the backbone of our country. Many of our historical documents were
written with freedom as the major theme. For example, the declaration of independence proposes
freedom from an oppressive government. Freedom is a concept that most Americans take pride in. For
this reason, the automobile is attractive to us. If you own your own automobile, you are free to go any
place you like whenever you want. You suddenly become independent and you no longer have to rely
on other people for rides. This is a common feeling among 16 year olds. With the acquisition of the
drivers license comes a whole new world of opportunity and responsibility.
Another factor to be considered is the American concept of time. Time is money. Because of this we
are usually in a hurry, so we hop in our cars and off we go, late for some sort of an appointment. We
could use alternate forms of transportation like busses or railways which decrease pollution by
decreasing the total number of cars on our roads, but these forms of transportation are not as
convenient as driving ourselves. After all, time is money and I m late for a class. I don t have time to
wait for the bus. Is this

The Uc Davis Student Health And Counseling Services
Most often than not health is used synonymously with wellness. It can be assumed that when a person
is healthy then they are well. Thus, wellness and healthy can be used interchangeably. The UC Davis
Student health and counseling services explains that wellness has eight dimensions: occupational,
emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, physical, social, and intellectual. Each dimension of
wellness is interrelated with another and they are all equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health .
Health s the body s ability to adapt to a variety of stresses or challenges maintaining a state of
equilibrium that is physical, mental, and emotional. Based on the following information it can be
easily reasoned that health should be considered a basic human right. Difficulty accessing healthy
food based off of geographic location, denied access to healthcare treatments based off of individuals
economic capacity, and denied access to health care based off of where a person is born should not
happen. Health does not consist of one concept but rather a combination of comprehensive subjects
that form the cycle of everyday life.
Health education provides its population with the necessary knowledge and tools to help increase
overall health, shape attitudes, and ultimately hopes to change behavior (WHO, n.d.). Health
education is advocating, promoting, teaching, and setting an example of well being for all human
beings regardless of ethnicity, social economic status, race, and

Symbolism In Shakespearian Sonnet
We can find three major character in Shakespearian sonnet. The fair youth, the dark lady and the poet
himself. From sonnets 127 152 Shakespeare mention the dark. Though there is no specific identity of
the dark lady. Some critics said that maybe dark lady s name was Lucy Nego, or Mary Fitton, or
maybe Emilia Lanier. From sonnet 78 86 represents directly poet himself. In sonnet 129,135 136,
Shakespeare strongly allude the relationship of Shakespeare with the dark lady. But the relationship
has no approval of the society.

John Paul II Essays
JOHN PAUL II
JOHN PAUL II was the first non Italian pope since 1523, whose energetic, active approach to his
office, unprecedented world travel, and firm religious conservatism have enhanced the importance of
the papacy in both the Roman Catholic church and the non Catholic world. The pope is also the head
of the independent state of Vatican City.
Born Karol Wojty³a on May 18, 1920, in Wadowice, Poland, he studied poetry and drama at the
University of Kraków. During World War II he worked in a stone quarry and in a chemical factory

Despite recurrent health problems in the 1990s, John Paul maintained an active schedule. In
September 1993 he traveled to the Baltic republics, the first papal visit to countries of the former
Soviet Union. His journey to Lebanon in May 1997, to give his support to the Christian minority and
to heal religious divisions there, was followed by a visit to Brazil in October. On a five day visit to
Cuba in January 1998, he denounced U.S. trade sanctions against that country and pressed Fidel
Castro s government to release political prisoners and ease restrictions on religious and political rights.
He also pressed Nigeria on human rights issues during a three day visit two months later; while there,
John Paul beatified a Nigerian priest. Emphasizing a central theme of John Paul s papacy, that of
Jewish Christian reconciliation, the Vatican issued a statement in mid March apologizing to Jews for
the Church s failure to take decisive action against Nazi Germany; the document received a mixed
reception from Jewish groups, in part because it defended the actions of Pope Pius XII during the
Holocaust. Concerned with the mission of Roman Catholicism in the Americas and the problem of
increased Protestant proselytism in Latin America, the pope visited Saint Louis, Mo., and Mexico City
in January 1999. In June of that year, in the spirit of strengthening ties with the Orthodox church, the

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Character Analysis
In the play Cat on a Hot Tin roof written by Tennessee Williams compared to the film, which was
directed by Richard Brooks in 1958, have major similarities and differences. One of the similarities
consists of the anger the family seems to have towards one another. A few differences between the
film and the play are Maggie s character, the relationship between Brick and Skipper, and Maggie s
dislike for Skipper. Overall, there is only one major difference that stands out in both the film and
play, and that so happens to be the character Maggie and how her character is portrayed.
After reading and watching the film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the character Maggie seemed a bit
different in both. Maggie admits to sleeping with Skipper in the play so they can feel closer with
Brick, they made it seem like made love with Brick. But if you notice in the film version Maggie says
that she did not have any type of relations with Skipper. In the film Maggie is the one that told Brick
about his father s illness, which in the play the doctor is the one that told Brick. Touching up on Brick
and Maggie s relationship, in the play you can sense Brick s anger with Maggie is so unfair.
Another difference between the film and play is the relationship between Brick and Skipper. It is not
for sure but you can sense a possible homosexual relationship between Brick and Skipper. But since
the film and play was taken place in the 1950 s, it was unheard of homosexuality being an actual thing
then.

ABSTRACT
Designing and embedding a watermark for VoIP is the main goal of this paper, A new model is
introduced and characterized by high robustness, high security and must be non perceptual. The
watermarking model is suitable for real time service and supports the needs of embedding the
watermark into the traffic of VoIP and its extraction additionally this model offers authentication and
integrity. The model based on digital watermarking and steganography. Another factor was taken in
consideration; the amount of data used and its influence on the voice quality of service. the model is
implemented using C# code for both embedding and extracting the watermarking spite of the intended
cheating mechanisms that might complicate the send/receive conditions. In addition, the model
performance has confirmed its robustness and quality of service.

How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature
The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century.
Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a
great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given
human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints,
and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the
first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That
period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism
and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity
was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of
Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin
culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of
reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and
chivalry were addressed in this period by every author. Nature and status of women was one of the
challenging parts for the medieval period. At ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

couple with deep religious morals. Once they settled in Toronto, the two decided to change their last

The Goldberg family relocated to Timmins, Ontario during Frank s adolescent years. Unfortunately,
during these times, Frank saw how mean kids can be as he was given the nickname Fish . People did
not accept his religion, Judaism, and the nickname was supposed to put him down but Frank would
later use that as a basis for his some of his creations. During this time, he explored atheism because of
these difficulties (Hines, 1986).
Finding and Designing Love
After Frank s father grew sick, the Goldberg family moved to Los Angeles where some of the family
already resided. Ironically, they lived in an apartment that was close to where the Loyola Law School
would be built in later years, according to Frank s blueprints. At this time, the family was struggling
for money and Frank had to find a job. He worked as a delivery truck man who installed breakfast
nooks. It was through this job that Frank would meet Anita Snyder, a woman who he married later in
1952. Two years later, with the permission of his family, Frank decided to change their last name to
Gehry. The couple had two daughters and the three followed Gehry to an army base in Georgia (Hines,

The Is The Party Of God
Abstract
When translated, Hezbollah means The Party of God. However, as we examine the history,
demographics, agenda, methodology and target choices and affiliation assignments and contributions
of Hezbollah, we discover that this organization was established with perhaps one goal in mind and
that is to strike fear into the hearts of those that oppose an Islamic state in Lebanon. Therefore, as the
self proclaimed Party of God, based on the history of their activities and actions, they appear to be
something entirely different.
History
Since the establishment of Hezbollah in 1982 as part of the Iranian government s Revolutionary
Guard, according to Spindlove et al (2010, pp. 249 252), the goal of this organization has since been
the creation of an independent Islamic state exclusive of the nation of Lebanon. Moreover, according
to a compilation of information by Berman (2015), it is widely believed that the Hezbollah ideology
spawned during the Iranian Revolution. During this revolution, the rhetoric called upon Muslims to
over through governments that oppressed them and their beliefs. Within Lebanon, according to
perceptions of the Hezbollah leaders, the United States (U.S.) was ultimately to blame for the
oppression of Lebanese Muslims and their beliefs while, simultaneously, viewing Israel as an
extension of the U.S. and its policies within the region. Led by religious clerics, in addition to their
desire for independence, the Hezbollah organization adopted an

Long before beauty pageants, Barbie dolls, and extra ordinarily beautiful girls, came about the idea of
the female body. Whether you are a believer of creationalism, scientology, or evolutionism, somehow
we all came about with the perception of the perfect female. Women have always been seen, and
portrayed as a sex symbol, and usually the disobedient one. Dating back to B.C and the story of Adam
and Eve, Eve was the naked one who bit into the fruit that god told her was forbidden. Why couldn t it
have been Adam that caused such scandal, and was the cause for destruction, and crime in the world,
and not Eve? From the believed beginning of time, to present day, women have really only progressed

Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (...
Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic
HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output
adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues.
Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to
myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few.
Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will
alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte
contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased
left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload.
Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result
from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying,
increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated
afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase
in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more
energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers.
Ventricular remodeling continues, further

Optical Filters Used For Edge Detection
In image processing, a Gabor filter, named after Dennis Gabor, is a linear filter used for edge
detection. Frequency and orientation representations of Gabor filters are similar to those of the human
visual system, and they have been found to be particularly appropriate for texture representation and
discrimination. In the spatial domain, a 2D Gabor filter is a Gaussian kernel function modulated by a
sinusoidal plane wave. Simple cells in the visual cortex of mammalian brains can be modeled by
Gabor functions.[1][2] Thus, image analysis with Gabor filters is thought to be similar to perception in
the human visual system. A set of Gabor filters with different frequencies and orientations may be
helpful for extracting useful features from an image.[7] In the discrete domain, two dimensional
Gabor filters are given by, G_c[i,j]=B e^{ frac{(i^2+j^2)}{2sigma^2}}cos(2pif(icos heta+jsin heta))
G_s[i,j]=C e^{ frac{(i^2+j^2)}{2sigma^2}}sin(2pif(icos heta+jsin heta)) where B and C are
normalizing factors to be determined. 2 D Gabor filters have rich applications in image processing,
especially in feature extraction for texture analysis and segmentation.[8] f defines the frequency being
looked for in the texture. By varying heta, we can look for texture oriented in a particular direction. By
varying sigma, we change the support of the basis or the size of the image region being analyzed.

Hae Min Lee Case Study
Facts about Hae Min Lee s Murder Case Hae Min Lee was reported to have lost on January 13, 1999.
Her lifeless body was discovered by law enforcement agencies on February 9 in Leaking Park. After
being treated as a possible homicide, investigations began to identify the killer. Adnan Syed was
convicted of the murder as a result of follow ups that led to many dormant leads, recheck alibis and
even question assumptions supporting the murder. Since it is evident that Adnan had a previous
relationship with Hae Min Lee, it is obvious that after they had broken up, there were suspicions that
Adnan hatched a plan to kill her. Jay s story supported the account that Adnan had killed her and
buried her. Although Adnan s story contains many layers of contradictions, misleading information,
and fascinating characters, it demonstrates a fog of ambiguity to what happened to Hae Min Lee. I
believe that Adnan killed Hea with an aim of revenging after the break up. Adnan seems to have killed
her to ensure that she had felt the pain that he had. I arrived at this conclusion because after they broke
up, the phone call details that Adnan was bitter after Hea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there are many contradictions related to Adnan s alibi, the evidence and the fact that they
had a previous relationship with Hae point to him in many ways. If I were a judge in the jury, I would
still convict Adnan since he does not provide sufficient evidence beyond proof to demonstrate that he
did not have the motive to kill her. Although there are unresolved discrepancies, it is evident that life
was lost in the case. Since neither Adnan s story nor that of Jay aligns with evidence, it is evident that
the circumstantial evidence points to Adnan. The doubts should be cleared by conducting an analysis

Lifting A Truck Essay
When we think of the word big trucks you think of monster trucks first but it actually can also mean
the big tall lift of a truck and that is how monster trucks came to be. Lifting a vehicle over the legal
height is not allowed on the streets because of how big the vehicle is when modified and can run the
risk of running people off the road or over their car. When lifting a vehicle started out it was for the
everyday man or woman who was interested in mudding there vehicle to the max and now it has
became much more popular because people love the thrill of riding higher than everyone else and can
still mud in their everyday driver. The method of lifting a vehicle was first used by the military and

The lifts were starting to go into the favor of the law again and when it did the changes were starting
to make people upset and tired of all the law changes. In Illinois you can t lift the body from the
chassis more than 3 inches. In terms of bumper height, a GVWR(gross vehicle weight rating) of 4,500
pounds or less and your front bumper can t go higher than 24 inches. GVWRs between 4,501 and
7,500 pounds determine the maximum height of 27 inches at the front and 29 inches at the rear.
Finally, if your truck is between 7,501 and 9,000 pounds, the allowable alteration is a maximum
height of 28 inches in front and 30 inches in back. The laws of lifting were made to help keep the
safety of the road and not to make everybody run off the road because of a big lifted truck heading
down the road. When the lift wasn t enough the tires became the next big thing and the tries acted as a
lift kit as well. The big tires added as much as a three inch lift if you ordered big tires and some were
just adding only one inch but with the big tires you could lift your truck without installing a bigger lift

Allusion In The Bluest Eye
In a time where racial hierarchies were deemed as the standard of moral law, segregation,
discrimination, and inequality was seen on every corner of industrial America. The Bluest Eye by Toni
Morrison centers around the life of Pecola Breedlove, a young African American girl who lives in an
abusive, broken home desperately yearning for blue eyes. Morrison s novel is able to provide a clear
depiction of how racial prejudice and idealized standards of white beauty contribute to the
demoralization and subjugation of African American women in an era of deep racial divides.
Characterized by allusion, symbolism, dialectical language, and a plethora of other literary devices,
Morrison is able to display the unfortunate plague of self hatred in the ... Show more content on

She is able to describe the characters in a way that the reader is able to see in full perspective the
extent of the Breedlove s unfortunate, degrading situation. The Breedlove s ugliness is unique ,
relentlessly and aggressively ugly (Morrison 38). Using vivid imagery, Morrison describes their
crooked noses , irregular hairlines and heavy eyebrows (Morrison 29). This ugliness, however, did not
stem from their physical features alone, but from conviction (Morrison 29) as they merely accepted
their ugliness and held it on a pedestal for the world to see. The ugliness that is present is not only
directly seen but also continuously felt by the Breedloves. Their acceptance of society s label on their
apparently ugly features without questioning the basis for their ridicule, eventually leads to self hatred.
Morrison is able to use the Breedlove family to generalize the effects of racism on the entire black
community as she represents characters that hate themselves merely because of what others define
them as. The perpetual animosity present within black individuals because of white culture, leads
them to hate their own racial identity. Pecola Breedlove in the novel fell the most victim to this lack of
self appreciation as racially based beauty standards and her abusive family who also fell victim to
discrimination ultimately lead to her insanity. In the end,

Teen Music And The Music
Parents of teenagers fear one thing in particular: their music, especially the lyrical content. Teenagers
find no issue in the music they listen to, and for good reason: just because the music may contain
explicit or violent lyrics, research has disproven any conspiratorial links between the music and
violent behavior. In fact, it can be used resourcefully instead, unless censorship removes that resource.
Teen music, specifically hip hop and rap, should not be censored because the lyrics can be a useful
teaching tool; society suffers from all forms of censorship; and no clearly proven link exists between
violent teen behavior and urban music. Most teenagers are interested in some form of explicit music,
because they feel like it speaks directly to them. As a result, educators have begun taking note of this
and have begun to incorporate music, especially hip hop and rap, into their classes. Many hip hop
artists write lyrics focused on their own experiences, in the hopes of inspiring someone else. Carla
Stokes began using urban music when teaching students about gender and sexuality. When I started
working with young people... themes around rap music repeatedly came up in the classroom... so I
began using hip hop as a tool to stimulate conversations about gender and sexuality... Hip hop s
become a significant way of fostering dialogue around many important issues they re facing in their
lives (Stokes 1). Hip hop can be used to teach in the literary arts as well. Lyrics, when

Mao Zedong Of The Soviet Union
Throughout the course of China s vast history, there is not a more controversial, internationally
criticized and locally praised ruler than that of Chairman Mao Zedong. When Chairman Mao took
control of the Chinese government as leader of the newly established Communist Party, he was most
notably commended for helping unite China after years of civil war. After the previous regime left the
country nearly bankrupt, Mao faced the challenge of rebuilding China s economy, and he believed that
it could only be accomplished through true Communism, modeled after the Soviet Union. Mao s
vision was highly approved by the people initially as it reinvented the working class and gave more

In fact, nearly half of the arable land in China was divided amongst peasants. Still, Chairman Mao was
concerned with establishing the country as an international competitor and needed to drastically
increase the industrialization of China, which in turn required a massive increase in production from
the agricultural industry. Thus, in 1953, Chairman Mao encouraged peasant farmers to begin
cooperatively farming in which a few families from the same village pooled together their resources to
have a larger operation. China s reinvented production system enabled peasants to produce larger
harvests, which allowed these cooperatives to become more diversified operations that could now
raise livestock or non grain crops. Because the peasants were able to share their knowledge, tools,
machinery, and the workload, this method of farming proved to be highly successful. Unfortunately,
this type of production agriculture did not last long. Just a few years later, Chairman Mao began to
completely socialize the agricultural system to where it was no longer the people s land but practically
the government s entirely. China established the collectivization process or the commune system in
which people gave up all their animals and tools, and were required to send a large majority of the
grain they produced to the government. The

the management challenges that Ford Motor faces is it must be prepared to address the fierce

In order to compete, the company must be ahead on cost, quality and service. Also Ford has to

Societal Values In Social Work
Being in a social work field, ethical principles and values are significant. Societal values can be
similar to social work ethics, but they can also differ. Our own beliefs may go completely against the
Social Work Code of Ethics. At the same time, they also may align with the ethics perfectly. Out of the
seven societal values that we were given, I have lined them up with the social work principle values
like this: integrity with integrity; importance of human relationships with privacy; social justice with
equality and social justice; dignity and worth of the person with cultural diversity and freedom; lastly
competence with knowledge building.
According to the NASW Code of Ethics (2008), Social workers behave in a trustworthy manner. The
societal value that falls under this principle is integrity. I feel like this societal value is the same as the
ethical principles and values. Social workers act honestly and responsibly and promote ethical
practices (NASW, 2008). This standard is important in being honest and having solid moral principles
which comply with integrity. Integrity is crucial to both societal values and social work principles.
Another important societal value that also aligns with NASW Code of Ethics in privacy. Privacy falls
under importance of human relationships. Social workers seek to strengthen relationships among
people in a purposeful effort (NASW, 2008). Every client and every person want privacy and they
deserve it. This ethical standard

Social Deviance In Society
We all hear and talk about social deviance, but not all of us think what does social deviance mean and
how it happens among the societies where we live. In the news is always brought up as an issue that
disturbs the structure in communities that we built. Societies always see social deviance as a negative
phenomen that has been living among us for decades. How do we get a rid of it and make our
communities better? We all may know the answer and yet, we do not do anything about it. Social
deviance is a term used to define behaviors of individuals that are not aligned with everybody s
behaviors in the communities we live in. Individuals in power have set standards on how to behave,
act and think in terms of social structure. This diagram is supposed to keep our communities running
under control and order. If all of us were born in a free land, how is it possible to restrain ourselves in

my jawbone also records my sleep pattern. I feel like my sleep is inadequate because most days I feel
tired in the morning except on days I sleep in. Stress from work and school also plays a role in my
inadequate sleep. I do not have a nightly routine that will make me feel relaxed and ready for bed. My
plan to increase my sleep is to start a nightly routine of doing some yoga to calm my body from stress
or read a book that I enjoy to read. I also need to go to bed at the same time every night and wake up
every morning at the same time, so that my eternal clock will get use to my nightly routine. This will
help me sleep better throughout the night. Homework and TV are my main barriers for making it hard
to get to bed early. I need to set an exact time to start my nightly routine, that way I have no excuses to
stay up

Spanking Is A Negative Consequences Of Disciplining Children
Discipline is very important in everyone s life. All parents try to do their best for their children.
However, this crucial issue is sometimes misunderstood by some parents when it comes to
disciplining their children. Some parents use a very controversial method known as spanking which is
a corporal punishment that can have tremendous consequences on a child s life. Although defenders of
corporal punishment argue that spanking allows parents to curb children s behavior, spanking has been
shown to have long lasting effects on a child. Not only does it teach children to be violent, it also
reduces the trust between parents and children. Furthermore, it makes a child experience resentment
towards his parents.
First, spanking is bad because it teaches children to be violent. When a child is hit for discipline, he
will experience aggressiveness, and while playing with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spanking gives children a kind of fear towards their parents because they bear in mind that if
something is wrong, they will automatically be punished, and this can be a burden they will carry into
adulthood. This lack of faith can sometimes lead to a certain kind of introverted behavior in some
children because their parents used to hit them when they say something wrong in front of their
friends. And this can be of greater impact on the child s mental health. Instead, as an alternative to
spanking, parents can choose to talk to their children, have an open dialogue where they can teach
them right from wrong without shouting or hitting.
Last, spanking can make a child feel resentment towards his parents. Children who are used to being
spanked develop a kind of bitterness that can rapidly turn into hatred because the child will have the
feeling that his parents don t care about him. In addition, what really interest them are the errors he
makes and how they are going to punish him. So in the end, the child will turn his back on his

In June 1953,Major General Rene Cgony first thought of the idea creating a mooring point at Dien Bien Phu in northwest Vietnam. While Cgony had visioned a slightly defended airbase, Navarre seized on the location for trying the strong point approach.Though his soldiers protested, pointing out that unlike the battle of Na San they would not hold the higher ground around the camp, Navarres planning moved forward. On November 20, 1953, Operation Castor started and 9,000 French troops were were dropped into the Dien Bien Phu area over the next few days. ... Properly maintained systems can last for 25 to 30 years, and help to keep groundwater clean and free of pollution, bacteria and viruses, as well as the nitrates and phosphates that can cause algae bloom in bodies of water. Many homeowners, though, want to know the best way to take care of their septic system, and one of the best ways to do so is by understanding how laundry can affect the overall health of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Certain cleaning agents, like bleach, soaps that aren t biodegradable, and antibacterial soaps, can weaken and even kill the bacteria that maintains septic system health. Additionally, too much detergent released into the tank can be the cause of clogged soil pores, preventing drainage and inciting backups. Typically, liquid detergents are the best option when it comes to healthy septic systems. Certain detergents are labeled to be safe for septic tanks, and they are almost liquid, because they have fewer ingredients that can be harmful for septic tanks. Some dry detergents use clay as a filler, which will cause clogs. Others may include sodium as a filler, which can also cause problems. Combining good laundry habits with the five most important tips that can protect your tank will help your septic system operate at its best, giving you and your family peace of mind and a protected investment that will keep the system running for 20 to 30 years. • 4. The New House Construction Of Rylai Enterprises Near... 1.0 INTRODUCTION This report assesses two available locations for the new house construction of Rylai Enterprises near University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). After reviewing the background, these two sites are the best for the new house construction. The strategic and the features at both locations are the reason I chosen both of them. However, I recommend we choose Taman Tas as our site for Rylai House Construction. 1.1 Background Rylai Enterprises is a well known company and has the consistent performance in international level. So, this is the huge opportunity for the company to run their business well by constructing single storey terraced house. By the feedback we received, there are some UMP students people nearby requesting a new house lot for their staying. Moreover, people who are working at UMP having a hard day to find the house. Even worse the only available house is too far away for them. As you know, house nowadays is so difficult to get because of the land available decrease year by year, yet the landlord of both locations is willing to sell the land at low price and I m sure Rylai Company can afford any one of them. We are planning to construct affordable house for the fresh graduate students and for the adults these days. The house type is single storey terraced house with a newest design by the architect Mr Tan Kai Jun. According to Mr Tan, every single house is complete with systematic drainage system to prevent flood. In addition, the project cost should not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Detection or Identification of Trace Amounts of Explosives The detection and/or identification of trace amounts of explosives. The review of each method should include a description of the way the method works and the advantages and drawbacks of the technique. Introduction An explosive, are reactive substances that contain a large amount of potential energy that can yield an explosion if they are released rapidly, they are accompanied by the production of light, heat, sound, and pressure. Mainly used in the mining industry for extraction of minerals and resources, explosives have been used as a weapon of destruction. Explosives often contain oxidising substances such as nitrates chlorates, and a binding agent such as ammonium and potassium, which can be detected and analysed to prevent such substances from being used as a weapon. Explosives detection is critically important in many field settings (e.g., military facilities, minefields, crime scenes, and remediation sites) and has become a necessity for the safety of the general public (e.g., at airports and mass transit areas), there remains a demand for inexpensive and reliable explosive instruments for identifying specific explosives. High explosives are considered to be organic and oxidizing, a relatively uncommon mixture that makes them tractable for molecular recognition. On 22 December 2001 Richard Colvin Reid also known as the Shoe Bomber attempted to detonate explosives packed into the shoes he was wearing, while on American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami. ... The Aims and Principles of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act In the decades prior to the national reform of the Poor Law in 1834, the characterisations of the administration were of variety rather than uniformity. The social and economic changes at this time produced many problems for those that were responsible for the social welfare. Many areas throughout the country though found solutions to this problem within the legal frame work of the Elizabethan Poor Law of 1597 1601. In the initial stages the amendment act was set up to reduce the amount of poor rates that were being paid. The way to stop this from happening was to reduce the fifteen thousand parishes into six hundred Poor Law unions. There was a great willingness to keep the poor in one place and so by 1843 there was one hundred and ninety seven thousand one hundred and seventy nine poor incarcerated into the workhouses. The workhouses were often described as bastilles. I do not agree with those who say that every man must look after himself, and that intervention by the state, will be fatal to his self reliance, his foresight and his thrift…. It is a mistake to suppose that thrift is caused only by fear; it springs from hope as well as fear. Where there is no hope, be sure there will be no thrift . (Winston Churchill, Liberalism and the Social Problems, 1909, p. 209). Many administrators were outraged at the idea of Central Government becoming involved in the Amendment Act because as far as they were concerned the old system was more than sufficient for the needs of the poor. The Poor Law Guardians then set about obstructing the Poor Law Amendment Act, as they thought it was an unnecessary addition to the current act. The worst of the activities to block this new act was in Huddersfield in the West Riding of Yorkshire. (As was). Many of our historical documents were written with freedom as the major theme. For example, the declaration of independence proposes freedom from an oppressive government. You suddenly become independent and you no longer have to rely on other people for rides. This is a common feeling among 16 year olds. With the acquisition of the drivers license comes a whole new world of opportunity and responsibility. Another factor to be considered is the American concept of time. Time is money. Because of this we are usually in a hurry, so we hop in our cars and off we go, late for some sort of an appointment. We could use alternate forms of transportation like busses or railways which decrease pollution by decreasing the total number of cars on our roads, but these forms of transportation are not as convenient as driving ourselves. Thus, wellness and healthy can be used interchangeably. The UC Davis Student health and counseling services explains that wellness has eight dimensions: occupational, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, physical, social, and intellectual. Each dimension of wellness is interrelated with another and they are all equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health . Health s the body s ability to adapt to a variety of stresses or challenges maintaining a state of equilibrium that is physical, mental, and emotional. Based on the following information it can be easily reasoned that health should be considered a basic human right. Difficulty accessing healthy food based off of geographic location, denied access to healthcare treatments based off of individuals economic capacity, and denied access to health care based off of where a person is born should not happen. Health does not consist of one concept but rather a combination of comprehensive subjects that form the cycle of everyday life. Health education provides its population with the necessary knowledge and tools to help increase overall health, shape attitudes, and ultimately hopes to change behavior (WHO, n.d.). • 12. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Character Analysis In the play Cat on a Hot Tin roof written by Tennessee Williams compared to the film, which was directed by Richard Brooks in 1958, have major similarities and differences. One of the similarities consists of the anger the family seems to have towards one another. A few differences between the film and the play are Maggie s character, the relationship between Brick and Skipper, and Maggie s dislike for Skipper. Overall, there is only one major difference that stands out in both the film and play, and that so happens to be the character Maggie and how her character is portrayed. After reading and watching the film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the character Maggie seemed a bit different in both. Maggie admits to sleeping with Skipper in the play so they can feel closer with Brick, they made it seem like made love with Brick. But if you notice in the film version Maggie says that she did not have any type of relations with Skipper. In the film Maggie is the one that told Brick about his father s illness, which in the play the doctor is the one that told Brick. Touching up on Brick and Maggie s relationship, in the play you can sense Brick s anger with Maggie is so unfair. Another difference between the film and play is the relationship between Brick and Skipper. It is not for sure but you can sense a possible homosexual relationship between Brick and Skipper. But since the film and play was taken place in the 1950 s, it was unheard of homosexuality being an actual thing then. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century. Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints, and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. However, as we examine the history, demographics, agenda, methodology and target choices and affiliation assignments and contributions of Hezbollah, we discover that this organization was established with perhaps one goal in mind and that is to strike fear into the hearts of those that oppose an Islamic state in Lebanon. Therefore, as the self proclaimed Party of God, based on the history of their activities and actions, they appear to be something entirely different. History Since the establishment of Hezbollah in 1982 as part of the Iranian government s Revolutionary Guard, according to Spindlove et al (2010, pp. 249 252), the goal of this organization has since been the creation of an independent Islamic state exclusive of the nation of Lebanon. Moreover, according to a compilation of information by Berman (2015), it is widely believed that the Hezbollah ideology spawned during the Iranian Revolution. During this revolution, the rhetoric called upon Muslims to over through governments that oppressed them and their beliefs. Within Lebanon, according to perceptions of the Hezbollah leaders, the United States (U.S.) was ultimately to blame for the oppression of Lebanese Muslims and their beliefs while, simultaneously, viewing Israel as an extension of the U.S. and its policies within the region. Whether you are a believer of creationalism, scientology, or evolutionism, somehow we all came about with the perception of the perfect female. Women have always been seen, and portrayed as a sex symbol, and usually the disobedient one. Dating back to B.C and the story of Adam and Eve, Eve was the naked one who bit into the fruit that god told her was forbidden. Everyday of their lives, people are bombarded with advertisements pushing to sell them something, or broadcasting a new and upcoming television program. The average American sees as many as 300 500 advertisements per day. Some see as many as 1,200 a day. (Jean Kilbourne, Ed. D.) General media is tied with public relations, and has become a source of entertainment to the public eye. Women are usually seen as eye candy, to attract the male heterosexual audience. Men and woman are usually portrayed in different ways, on national television, and Hollywood films. Men usually play the tough guy, macho man roles, while the women are predominately represented as white, young, glamorous, heterosexual, and less influential then men. (Campbell and Carilli, 2005) Attractive women are usually displayed in both male and female advertisements, and play a double role. Women will think that if they purchase this product, they will resemble the model advertising the product, and the men are tricked to think that if they purchase the product, that they will attract women like the ones advertising the product. This is the sex sells propaganda tactic. Models in the advertisements aren t supposed to look like the average, ordinary people. • 21. Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (... Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues. Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few. Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload. Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying, increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers. Ventricular remodeling continues, further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Optical Filters Used For Edge Detection In image processing, a Gabor filter, named after Dennis Gabor, is a linear filter used for edge detection. Frequency and orientation representations of Gabor filters are similar to those of the human visual system, and they have been found to be particularly appropriate for texture representation and discrimination. In the spatial domain, a 2D Gabor filter is a Gaussian kernel function modulated by a sinusoidal plane wave. Simple cells in the visual cortex of mammalian brains can be modeled by Gabor functions.[1][2] Thus, image analysis with Gabor filters is thought to be similar to perception in the human visual system. A set of Gabor filters with different frequencies and orientations may be helpful for extracting useful features from an image.[7] In the discrete domain, two dimensional Gabor filters are given by, G_c[i,j]=B e^{ frac{(i^2+j^2)}{2sigma^2}}cos(2pif(icos heta+jsin heta)) G_s[i,j]=C e^{ frac{(i^2+j^2)}{2sigma^2}}sin(2pif(icos heta+jsin heta)) where B and C are normalizing factors to be determined. 2 D Gabor filters have rich applications in image processing, especially in feature extraction for texture analysis and segmentation.[8] f defines the frequency being looked for in the texture. By varying heta, we can look for texture oriented in a particular direction. By varying sigma, we change the support of the basis or the size of the image region being analyzed. Her lifeless body was discovered by law enforcement agencies on February 9 in Leaking Park. After being treated as a possible homicide, investigations began to identify the killer. Adnan Syed was convicted of the murder as a result of follow ups that led to many dormant leads, recheck alibis and even question assumptions supporting the murder. Since it is evident that Adnan had a previous relationship with Hae Min Lee, it is obvious that after they had broken up, there were suspicions that Adnan hatched a plan to kill her. Jay s story supported the account that Adnan had killed her and buried her. This ugliness, however, did not stem from their physical features alone, but from conviction (Morrison 29) as they merely accepted their ugliness and held it on a pedestal for the world to see. The ugliness that is present is not only directly seen but also continuously felt by the Breedloves. Their acceptance of society s label on their apparently ugly features without questioning the basis for their ridicule, eventually leads to self hatred. Teenagers find no issue in the music they listen to, and for good reason: just because the music may contain explicit or violent lyrics, research has disproven any conspiratorial links between the music and violent behavior. In fact, it can be used resourcefully instead, unless censorship removes that resource. Teen music, specifically hip hop and rap, should not be censored because the lyrics can be a useful teaching tool; society suffers from all forms of censorship; and no clearly proven link exists between violent teen behavior and urban music. Most teenagers are interested in some form of explicit music, because they feel like it speaks directly to them. As a result, educators have begun taking note of this and have begun to incorporate music, especially hip hop and rap, into their classes. Many hip hop artists write lyrics focused on their own experiences, in the hopes of inspiring someone else. Carla Stokes began using urban music when teaching students about gender and sexuality. Thus, in 1953, Chairman Mao encouraged peasant farmers to begin cooperatively farming in which a few families from the same village pooled together their resources to have a larger operation. China s reinvented production system enabled peasants to produce larger harvests, which allowed these cooperatives to become more diversified operations that could now raise livestock or non grain crops. Because the peasants were able to share their knowledge, tools, machinery, and the workload, this method of farming proved to be highly successful.
