Mrs. G Chen Psyche Alternate Ending
Mrs. G. Chen was just walking on a street. Actually, never mind. She was RUNNING down the
street in North Korea, just barely escaping the old ladies who were trying to lick her pinky toe,
and also the hunky men who were trying to kick her and call her Ahjumma (a married middle
aged lady in Korean), led by Kim Jong Un, despite her actually not being married, despite the fact
that she has a Mrs. before her name (Don t ask me why!). This wasn t some rare
nogoodhorrificbadterriblenotsocomfortable day. This happened at least 3 times every day as far as I
know, and today s was a tame one compared to her other days.

Ohhhhhhh. You re in America. , he said. Mrs. Chen gasped the loudest gasp anyone could
possibly gasp. She then started to cry. Oh no! I in land Trump! The boy looked very VERY
confused and worried so he (for some reason) decided to tell her his name. aHEM! My name is
MECHANICUS! , he proudly announced with a smirk on his face. Now, even though her
English speaking is terrible, she knew English quite well, and she may seem ditzy and clueless,
but she wasn t unintelligent. In fact, she was one of the smartest ladies in her town. Knowing
this, I don t believe you should be surprised when she didn t believe him. You LIE! , she scoffed,
and thankfully, Mechanicus understood what she meant. He looked very shocked and troubled.
WHAT!? Oh, come on! It says so on my nametag! , he exclaimed, as Mrs. G Chen just noticed the
blue nametag on his shirt. On it, said Mechanicus in the worst handwriting you could ever imagine.
Just then, a teenage girl (Chen guessed she was 17) with a radiant and bright dress, light skin, light
brown hair, and very red lips came running to

The Genesis Of The Business Model Canvas
The genesis of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) consists of nine building blocks that describe a
business model. They are: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Customer Relationships,
Channels, Revenue Streams, Key Partners, Key Activities, Key Resources and Cost Structure.
(Osterwalder, A., Pigneur, Y, 2010) One of the unique features of the approach of the Business
Model Canvas is that this tool allows for easy, visual representation for decision makers to think
about. The tool provides a dissection of the major concerns impacting the business and also
represents the direction the organization is taking through its business model. As author Dan Roam
states, visual thinking to solve complex problems is what the BMC is all about. The Business
Model Generation does have it strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps the main asset of the BMC is the
visual illustration. One main drawback is the limited aim of an organization; that is, it targets profit
generation and for non profit purposes of an organization. The benefits will be touched on below,
but the Osterwalder/Pigneu business model leaves out one key ingredient. Omitting the basic fact
that competition is not mentioned in this theory seems to be a glaring omission. Advancement
springs from competition and so does better customer service. In our reading, the business model
canvas is a great tool that fosters understanding, discussions, creativity and analysis. The nine basic
blocks demonstrate

Gioia Pinto Fire Case
1.Evaluate Gioia s decisions in the Pinto fires case and his later reflections of his decisions form
the standpoint of Hooker s three tests and Rawls liberty and difference principles. It is difficult
to evaluate Mr. Gioia s decision in the Pinto fire cases because of how he presents himself in his
book. He reminds me of kids who are trying to find their identity. I interpret the way he wrote his
book as a way to separate himself from one of the horrendous practice in the automotive industries,
because he plays no part in allowing the issue to continue. I don t believe he actually admit that he
made a mistake. This is great beginning of this paper. From the Hooker s generalization test
standpoint, Gioia (1992) failed the test,

Wound Cleaning Research Paper
When the majority of the wound is not covered by necrotic tissue (at least 75%) our treatment
should be focused on selective debridement. With this type of removal we will only be working
with the necrotic tissue. Depending on the physicians order we may use this in our treatment.
Another important aspect is woundcleansing. Every time the dressing is changed they should clean
the wound. We should avoid using hydrogen peroxide, soap, povidone iodine because they could
damage the healing process. The recommended solutions are water (drinkable tap or sterile) and
normal saline. We should also consider using syringe irrigation to apply the solution. Finally,
wound moisture is another important aspect we would need to take into consideration.

Mueller Reasoning
Heaven is According to Mueller images of joy that lie before us, but words can t fully embrace
the joys of heaven. No eyes has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has
prepared for those who love him these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit (1
Corinthians 2:9 10)
Therefore, based on Mueller reasoning in order for a person to get into heaven has to receive God s
grace. Though God desires the salvation of all human beings but he has done all the necessary for
our salvation in Jesus Christ. Furthermore, we will have to be immortal and free of temptation, sin,
disease, death, and all the other effects of sin. Our current lives are so affected by sinfulness that
we may find it hard to comprehend the difference

International Federation Of State High School Athletes
Literature Review
Relevance
Participation in sports has steadily increased throughout the decades. As more and more major
professional sports franchises continue to eclipse the one billion mark in value, the fame and
wealth that can be obtained by reaching the profession ranks becomes irresistible to many students
who have a passion for athletics. For some of these students, reaching the professional ranks is
way to pull their family out of the lower class, and into the higher echelon of the upper class. For
others, simply competing against the best in the world is a dream come true. The National
Federation of State High School Association (NFHS), as reported a twenty six year increase in the
participation of high school athletics (NFHA, 2015). As the general popularity of athletics
increases, so does the level of participation in high school athletics. The odds of making the
professional ranks, however, are slim to none, as only 6% of high school student athletes go on to
play at the collegiate level (NCAA, 2015). Therefore, states, communities, educators, and parents
continue to stress academics before athletics. In fact, when we address athletes in school, we
address them as student athletes.
Numerous studies have been conducted throughout the years that highlight the benefits of
participating in school sponsored athletics. The benefits encompass a broad range of outcomes,
from improvements in personal characteristics, to academic performance. Academic

Key Concepts Of The Trinity
The Trinity is the word that we use to describe the nature of God. God consists of three
simultaneous, eternal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God being simultaneous or
existing at the exact same time as three different entities is one of the key concepts of the Trinity.
These three Persons not only exist as one in the present moment, but will continue to do so with no
end. The way they relate to each other is eternal and also unchangeable. The Trinityhas always been,
and will always be. The Trinity has no beginning nor an end. All three Persons in the Trinity are the
same in nature, as well as being completely divine with equal attributes. Although the three persons
in the Godhead are one in the same, they do perform

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Common Core
Common Core State Standards have been a hot topic for a few years. While both sides of the
argument make valid points, often people lose sight of the greatest importance in the debate. The
students. The children s best interests need to be on the forefront of either side. Nearly all can
agree that in educationa national set of standards is necessary for this country. This is not the first
time in history that America s educational principles have been up for debate. The basic idea of
common core is to prepare students for responsibility as a citizen in this society. Students must be
able to read and distill complex sentences and must be equipped with basic mathematical skills. The
actual impact the standards will have on education will not be revealed for several years, however it
is thought that implementing a national set of standards will nothing... Show more content on

Digging deeper into concepts and increasing rigor will enable our children to be competitive in
today s world and the playing field comparing our educational system to other countries will be
leveled. Higher education has a history of complaining that students are not ready for college level
courses and remediation classes have been necessary. Implementing common core could eliminate
those classes while teaching students how to think and problem solve before leaving high school.
An additional issue against common core is the financial burdens that could be put on schools and
districts as a result of implementation. From purchasing newly aligned textbooks and materials, to
updating technology in order to complete the standard assessment all online. With this assessment
comes an increased value in the results. If the scores are compared nationally it is assumed that
already high stakes testing will only get higher by opening up Pandora s Box of national assessment

Soundtrack of My Life
Soundtrack of my Life
Throughout my life I have heard many songs and many of them have remained with me in my
memories. I think the main artists I remember from my childhood are Bruce Springsteen, Tom
Petty and Michael Jackson. Born in the USA from Bruce Springsteen is the main one because this
was the only song that my dad and I could agree on. His favorite song was Tom Pettys Free Fallin
which at that time I highly disliked; I have learned to like it with time now. And then for Michael
Jackson, he had many songs that I remember, but I think Bad sticks out the most to me.
Everytime I think of these songs I just think of being a child, and how I had no worries then, it
seemed like such a peaceful world. As I got older I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really can t say that I associate any certain songs with happiness. Kind of like I said above, I
like fast paced upbeat songs, they keep me in a good mood. I don t mind slow songs, a lot of
them are very good songs, but can make me cry. Especially now that I am pregnant, some sad
songs or slow songs are just automatic tear jerkers and hey really shouldn t be. I like songs that
have good messages behind them. A lot of newer music hese days have good beats, but have
very poor messages behind them. I think this is one thing I always liked about Eminem; he
always seemed to rap about things that have a good message, instead of talking about getting
wasted at the club or sleeping around. I don t think this is the type of stuff our kids these days
should be hearing about. I guess all they have to do is turn on the TV and they ll see this too, but I
think it is something we should be discouraging, not encouraging. But I guess that is where the
parents need to step in and explain right from wrong to their

Importance Of Teaching And Learning Approaches
ADAPT TEACHING AND LEARNING APPROACHES AND RESOURCES, INCLUDING
TECHNOLOGIES TO MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF LEARNERS. UNIT 2, 5.6
LITERATURE REVIEW
Agreeing with Littlemore and Oakey (2004), we founds that teachers are sometimes overwhelmed
by the technology and do not seriously think about how it might be usefully applied (Davies, 2009).
Indeed, language learning and teaching approach should be pedagogy driven and learning based,
which is more rigid and emphasises on the needs of learners with the aid of technology resource
and tools. Contrarily, technology driven approach which attempts to formulate a pedagogy based
on the cutting edge advantages of a new device, should be abandoned. If a language teaching or
learning project is driven by the fashionable technology, it might pose the danger to the learners as
well as the teachers disappearing over the horizon of SLA pedagogy.
Number of research reveal that learners dislike reading large amount of text on the screen, such as
Wiki, and they often prefer to print out the documents for reading. For instance, Boulton s (2005)
paper indicated that less than 20% of his students are happy with on screen reading. Anderson
(2003) reports that metacognitive online reading strategies plays important role in online L2 reading.
Despite of input issue, barrier of producing written output using ICT tools has also been noticed.
Mishan (2004) points out that it might sometimes be challenging for learners to compose on screen.

Dangerous Sugar Hazards Ahead: Killer Candy
Bombs of sugar are hurled at you, the pins of grenades of artificial preservatives have been pulled,
bugs of all sort have surrounded you, no matter where you look these are all in the health killer
called candy. For instance candy upholds too much sugar; according to my calculations and the
nutrition facts from the Twix official packaging one minis Twix bar is 1.79 ounces yet about 10%
(or 5 grams) of the bar is pure sugar aside from the artificial ingredients in the rest of the bar. For
some people eating all that sugar from the chocolate, caramel, and cookie just overloads their
mouth. In spite of eating sugar, once you eat at least six Twix bars the sugar adds up to drinking a
pop of soda.

Write An Alternate Ending To Jane Eyre
Please, let it be cholera.
Emma Bertrand pressed a hand against the churning in her stomach and forced herself to move
one foot in front of the other. As silent as possible, she crept along the dark hallway toward her
mother s bedchamber. Her father said the sickroom was no place for a twelve year old girl, but she
had to know for certain if her suspicions were true.
The only light filtering up the wide spiral staircase came from the gas lamps in one of the rooms
on the first floor. The unlit chandelier above the foyer tinkled softly as the wind outside seeped
through the cracks and crevices of the mansion on St. Charles. Muted voices drifted from
somewhere below. Her father and uncle discussing business, most likely. The few servants still...

Arsenic poisoning and cholera shared many of the same symptoms, but there were a few
differences. She should check the chamber pot cholera would make the contents pale and watery;
blood might indicate arsenic but she couldn t bring herself to look inside. Not yet, anyway. She d

The floorboard in the hallway creaked again. Emma flew off the bed and dashed for cover
behind the silk dressing screen. Her heart pounded. Sweat trickled down the side of her face.
Trembling, she peeked around the edge of the screen and watched as a tall figure entered the room.
When he stepped into the light of the fireplace, her hand flew to her mouth to silence the gasp. It
could not be him. He would never poison her mother. Would

Osteobiologic Materials
Different types of osteobiologic materials include: metal based, ceramic based and polymer
based bone graft substitutes either with or without various types of cells. Some of these
materials may have various bioactive molecules such as growth factors embedded in them [47], [48
52] for example: BMP 2 [53 55], TGF b [54], GDF 5 [56, 57] and VEGF [58] or a mixture [57],
since these growth factors are among of the multiple factors expressed during boneregeneration [59
61]. Such materials have been investigated widely in literature[62], [63] to exhibit specific
responses. Calciumphosphate showed osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties in the form of
sintered ceramics [64 67], cements [68, 69], and coatings [70, 71]. Besides calcium phosphate...

One method is uses ion impregnation of the surface [84]. This method allows the material to act in
such a way that they can either promote bone formation or reduce bone loss, since ions are essential
factors for enzymes. Bioinorganic ions can modulate angiogenesis to accelerate healing, induce
osteogenesis, and stimulate proliferation of osteoblast control. However the use of inorganic ions
can also cause toxicity [85]. An example of a bioinorganic ion used on titanium is calcium ions.
Calcium modified implants, create a concentration gradient of chemo attractants for mesenchymal
and osteoprogenitor cells on the implant surface. Moreover, calcium modified titanium surfaces
have electrical characteristics different from normal titanium surface, this change in the electrical
properties on the surface increases the composition of adsorbed biofilm [86]. Other ions used to
modify titanium surfaces are phosphate ions [87]. Phosphate ions are associated with proteins in
formation and regeneration of bones through phosphorylation of serine, threonine and tyrosine
amino residues. Phosphate modified titanium implants block the incorporation of mineral ions into
the crystal surface, inhibiting thereby crystal growth. The last ion coating consists of both
phosphate and calcium [88], coating it with hydroxyapatite [89].
Additional treatments involves changing the structure of titanium to become porous and bio active

Popular toys have an effect on the media. Take for example, Toy Story a popular childrens movie
that featured many toys as protagonist in the story and see how the movie had an effect on the

Kenya Culture Vs American Culture
The country of Kenya is made up of many different ethnic groups and tribes which makes it very
broad when comes to their culture. They respect their elders and that is why ancestors play a big
role in the culture in Kenya. They do not worship ancestors but pay high respect and reverence
towards them because they are thought to be living in spirit among them. Kenyais a very group
oriented country contrasting the American individualistic culture. Family is a very important
aspect in Kenya and being group oriented many relationships are built on community. A handshake
is customary when greeting but when it is with someone who you are close to then it is a
prolonged handshake. When meeting an elder or someone of high status it is expected to grasp

Applying Mahler s Model Of Separation Individuation Essay
3. Apply Mahler s model of separation individuation to explain the child s behavior.
Mahler s model of separation individuation theorizes that after the first few weeks of infancy, in
which the infant is either sleeping or barely conscious, the infant goes from a phase called normal
symbolic phase, in which it identifies itself as one with its mother within the larger environment
(Margaret Mahler and the Separation Individuation Theory). This then leads to the separation
individuation phase that includes several stages or sub phases that influence the infant to
distinguish itself from its mother, discovers its own identity, will, and individuality. According to
Mahler, the normal symbiotic phase extends from the first signs of conscious awareness at four to
six weeks until about five months of age. In the normal symbiotic phase, the infant is now aware of
its mother, but has no sense of individuality of its own. In the separation individuation phase, the
infant gets out of its autistic shell and slowly begins to connect with its environment and with
people in it. Separation refers to the development of limits and to the differentiation in the infants
mind between the infant and the mother, whereas individuation refers to the development of the
infant s ego, sense of identity, and cognitive abilities (Margaret Mahler and the Separation
Individuation Theory). According to Mahler, the phases listed above are divided into three sub
phases, which occurs in the following:

In the Canterbury Tales, Geoffry Chaucer, meets and describes twenty nine pilgrims. While all
of their reasons and intentions differ, they are all going to visit the shrine of Sir Thomas
Beckett. Chaucer uses many different methods to describe his characters. To describe the squire,
he chooses to focus on his appearence, his abilities, and his sexuality but the more that is
revealed about the Squire s character, the more likely it seems that his talents lie elsewhere than on
the battlefield. Many lines are dedicated to his appearence. It is made apparent that he cares how he

Sickle Cell Infertility
Sickle cell anemia is a disease that is found in about seventy thousand to one hundred thousand
people in a year here in the United States, most commonly found in African Americans. This disease
occurs in the blood where the hemoglobin attaches itself to the oxygen in the lungs and then carried
all throughout the body. When this occurs the red blood cellis changed to rigid and the shape turns
to a C (A.K.A. Sickle) which is where the disease got its name. The C like cell may get stuck and
block blood flow to vital organs which can cause a stroke, acute chest syndrome, organ damage,

Creole Hybridity in Literature
Jamaican patois is not an official language, which is the same for most if not all languages are
not, although recently, there are some creole dictionaries and Haitian Creole is being taught in
schools. People tend to have a negative perception of a creole and thus, the people who speak and
chose to write in this creole languageare often lumped into a box. There is a stigma attached to it,
and people often say that it is the language of the poor lower class of the country. Growing up in
St. Lucia, I saw how this is true, people are often embarrassed by their parent who spoke creole,
or they as children where forbidden to speak creole as to avoid being stereotyped. The language
expresses the history of the Caribbeanand the hybridity that emerges through language. In the
diaspora, people depend on creating a space of home in the host country and language is an
important part of this space. The connection immigrants feel when they come into contact with
literature that features a language of their native homeland offers them their own space in the
literary world, and a way for their stories to be told. The writers and people who use creole are
confirming their identities as a merger of multiple influences. They use the language despite the
stigma and fight to maintain the culture by doing so language is part of one s identity. Wordy,

How Does Daniel Keyes Use Simile In Flowers For Algernon
I wanted to race algernon some more but Burt said thats enough for one day. They let me hold

operation that Charlie had. Dr. Strauss, the man who started this all, has Charlie and Algernon race
to solve mazes that measure Charlie s intellectual growth, which increases proving the operation
successful. Daniel Keyesfocused on multiple craft moves: simile, foreshadow, and personification

What I Learned At The Early World Of My Life
Hard Work always deserves a Top Stand
I believe that a top stand can be achieved only through the core values of hard work,
determination and patience, which I learned at the early stages of my life. Since childhood, I
have been fascinated to explore the world of computers. My schooling at one the top most
schools provided me enough exposure to technological world very early in my life. This caught
my eye and helped me choose and pursue my field of interest. For me motivation is learning or
getting influenced by others. I was motivated in early stages of life after facing lot of challenges,
emerging victorious, and building my goals.
My mother is an important person in my life. She is a Strong, disciplined and a super woman
who has spent her life in her endeavor to become a successful. Born in a middle class Indian
family, she faced many challenges and overcame hurdles in life to achieve her goals. She
followed her passion towards education and goal of becoming a top most scale 1 officer in a
bank. Her ability and focus developed the bank business resulted in substantial growth and huge
profits. She was a real inspiration and I followed her ideals in my life.
My first dream project that led me to a success in establishing my skills, is the Innovative club
Igneous . It was created in our college to motivate students in developing strong communication and
make them efficient. The first event was a success and established in trending similar cohesive

Port Everglades Case Analysis
Imagine being hired as a consultant for the Port Everglades by the management. As a consultant,
you were hired to look at situations that are happening at the port over the past and current year.
After analyzing the port, you have to recommend changes that can improve the Port. Which in the

For example, to find out how much the company Operating revenue has increase since 2013 the
consultant would have to take the amount of Revenue the company made in 2015 which was

the calculation the consultant would have got a ratio of 104.4% of the increase in 2015 since
2013. After that to find the percent of increase in 2014 which was $153,193,953 then the
individual would divide by the base amount from 2013 $146,824,45 and there would have been a

show how much the Port makes a year, even though they are under contraction trying to expand
their Port. This information would see if the Port is losing business because of the projects that
they are doing on their Port or not. Also, while doing the Horizontal analyses the advisor should

The Valley of Ashes as Metaphor in The Great Gatsby Essay
The Valley of Ashes as Metaphor in The Great Gatsby
Throughout F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, location is a critical motif. The contrasts
between East and West, East Egg and West Egg, and the two Eggs and New York serve
important thematic roles and provide the backdrops for the main conflict. Yet, there needs to be a
middle ground between each of these sites, a buffer zone, as it were; there is the great distance
that separates East from West; there is the bay that separates East Egg from West Egg; and, there is
the Valleyof Ashes that separates Long Island from New York. The last of these is probably the
most striking. Yet, the traditional literal interpretationdoes not serve Fitzgerald s theme as well as a

If it is remembered that ashes circa the turn of the century often referred to garbage, then it is
possible to interpret the valley of ashes as a dumping ground. (23) The ash heaps, then, are piles
of garbage, and the repeated references to waste land, as opposed to wasteland, now make more
sense, as does George Wilson s use of a piece of waste to wipe his hands. (24 5) For Fitzgerald,
the American dream is to get rich and become socially acceptable; Wilson, who has failed, has
wasted his life, and is now down in the dumps. He has been cast away by society, just like the rest
of the refuse that surrounds him. This, then, seems to be the fate of middle class dreams despite
being conceived in a land filled with opportunity, they all end up in the landfill.
Yet, there are still inconsistencies with this interpretation, which also apply to the stricter literal
view; where does the gray, scrawny Italian child down the road by the railroad tracks come
from? (26) Where do the workmen come from? (137) If the valley is so isolated and desolate
how could Nick even imagine there would be an old man regaling little boys with the story of
Myrtle s death? (156) How does such a crowd accumulate next to a dumping ground? (156 7) Why
would Dr. T. J. Eckleburg advertise there, train delays notwithstanding? (23) These concerns cannot
be fully explained away by the

Ivan Erinsovich Fittest Quotes
Can a man who s warm understand one who s freezing?
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Sitting amidst thousands of other sentences in this novel, this particular formation of words stand
out above the rest. It is not a long sentence, nor does it look like much to one who may have just
skimmed over it, however this quote speaks volumes not only for this book, but also for humanity
as a whole. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich stirs up many emotions; controversy over
authoritative oppression, living under a Stalinist approach in government, as well as survival of the
fittest. These themes are extremely relevant to the quote at the beginning of this passage, as well as
to the groundbreaking novel. In the beginning of the story, the prisoners are ... Show more content

This surrenders the zeks to the supremacy of big guys. The guards even drown out a sense of
natural daylight or darkness with the high beams of the surveillance lights. By taking away
something so simple as knowing what time of day it is, these prisoners are relinquished of any and
all daily privileges a normal human being would have all thanks to the mercilessness of Stalin and
his cohorts.
Another well suited sub theme is survival of the fittest. Although some of these men do befriend
each other and Shukov himself seems to have a handful of acquaintances among his gang, in such
an environment there is a sense of every man for himself. I believe that is why small things like
Shukov s pal Fetyukov saving a breakfast bowl for him helps him appreciate his luck at the very
end of the day.
Survival ranks highest in importance to the zeks. Among this importance is also attitude; one s

considered good manners to conform and obey. This is idea is drawn through Ivan s friend

The Theory Of Psychology And Personality Development
Personality Report
There are many theorists that have made psychology incredible, and have paved the way for what
we believe psychology to consist of today. Some important theorists that I believe have made a
huge contribution are Sigmund Freud, Karen Horney, and Dollard and Miller. These theorists have
all had their own view on personality development, and I believe that these ideas have shaped the
way in which we view psychology today. The many interpretations of conflict, psychotherapy, and
cultural and biological aspects of personality have shaped their views and differences as well.
Sigmund Freud, known as the father of psychology, developed some of the first theories of
modern psychology. One of his well known theories is the structural model of the psyche.
According to Freud, most of what drives individuals is buried in the unconscious mind. There
are three main forces that drive humans, which include the id, the ego, and the super ego. The
id is the summation of basic personal needs and desires. It is completely self centered, and has
no care for sensibility or reality. It strives for what it wants, when it wants it with no other
considerations. The second part of the personality is the ego. The ego is the realization of reality.
It is the ego s job to, in a sense, counteract the selfishness and impractically if the id. The third
part, the super ego, is morals and acquired beliefs of right and wrong. According to Freud, in order
to have a healthy personality, one s

Disadvantages Of Hotel Overbooking
If one were to ponder the question of whether hotels should overbook their rooms the answer may
appear to be quite simple. Why would a hotel owner want to book more reservations for rooms
than they actually had available? This is precisely why this issue has faced the hotel industry for a
number of years. Contrary to what the average person may think about hotelowners overbooking
their rooms, it has actually shown itself to be a noble strategy in achieving maximum profitability
when done accurately. It is imperative that it is done in an appropriate manner so as to not give the
hotel a corrupt name or lead to guest dissatisfaction.

The hope is to have all the rooms on the property occupied on any given night; due to the fact of

success to a vast array of hotels, it is clear that there are also some disadvantages that could
spawn from it. In his article, The Impact of Overbooking on Hotels Operation Management,
Vladimir Sashov Zhechev notes some of the possible consequences that could result for
overbooking when all of the guests do actually show up that had a reservation. For example, if a
customer has made a reservation at a certain hotel and arrives there only to discover that their
room has been given to another guest who also had a reservation, it is only logical that the guest is
going to be quite irate. It is now the duty of the hotel to arrange for that customer to have alternate
lodging accommodations, as well as provide transportation for them to get to their other destination

their next stay due to the complications they have just experienced on their visit. This now has

Sports Illustrated Magazine Analysis
The magazine I chose to analyze was the November 30th edition of Sports Illustrated, Lights,
Cam, Action. This magazine is dominantly about male professional and collegiate level sports,
with the occasional article about a female. Being that this edition was published in November,
the middle of football season, the main sport that is featured throughout the magazine is football.
Although football is the main focus, other sports such as track, wrestling, soccer, basketball and
others are featured in various articles. The article length in this particular magazine vary, but the
average is usually around two pages. Cam Newton is the star of this edition, with his picture on
the cover, and a five page spread of him in the magazine. He is portrayed as a hero, which would
make any Carolina Panthers fan happy (Pg. 32). The reading level in this magazine is not too
challenging, but may be difficult for some. This magazine advertises typical products that are...

popular age group to read Sports Illustrated is 30 to 50 year old men. People who read this are not
poor nor rich, but middle class. The readers have a decent amount of education, because they have
to be able to read some of the lengthy articles, and they live in urban and suburban areas. To be

sports featured. People who read Sports Illustrated magazine are men with some misogynist views

The reconstruction will be about replacing half of the concrete used by the materials we proposed.

In conclusion, this was the survey that has been done at Sylvania Campus s buildings by the

Is The Fortunes And Misfortunes Of Moll Flanders
Daniel Defoe s picaresque novel Moll Flanders saw the light of the day in 1722. Of course,
meticulously speaking, it cannot be called a novel in the strictest sense of the term. The credit of
being the first proper novel goes to Richardson s Pamela which was published a couple of decades
later in 1740. Moll Flandersis somewhat deficient in psychological exploration and reads more like
a narrative. Hence it would be better to call it a rudimentary novel. However, the objective of this
paper is not to debate or discuss the qualities of a novel found in Moll Flanders. The objective is
to delineate how Defoe s heroine Moll with her own effort trudges through thick and thin to make
the most of a hopeless life. For all her shortcomings, she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Defoe bestows happiness on septuagenarian Moll. He employs a classic deus ex machina to
make Moll meet her mother in old age and inherit a part of her mother s property. Moll, for the
first time in her life, finds a stable and comfortable position. And now all the middle class values

for the first time Moll experiences a resurgence of maternal affection. She says of Humphry: ...he

undoubtedly pro woman, investing a female figure with the status of the protagonist in early
eighteenth century and portraying her with sympathy and understanding. The novel, despite its

Analysis of Characterization in The Darkness Out There
Analysis of Characterization in The Darkness Out There
The Darkness Out There and The Withered Arm are both short stories. The characterization
techniques they use are contrasting and similar. Each story is from a different time; The Withered
Arm being 19th century and The Darkness Out There being 20th century. Thomas Hardy writes
The Withered Arm as a 3rd person narrative whereas Penelope Livelyuses a mixture between 3rd
and 1st person.
The Darkness Out There combines the author s narration with the thoughts and feelings of Sandra,

In Michael Gondry s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), the connections between
people and memories become the focal point of a very unique romance. Through the use of new
technology, the possibility of erasing memories makes painful relationships disappear like they

process they undergo as beneficial or destructive. Though the process might be helpful in
eliminating the pain caused from another person, four key scenes show how the lessons learned

Travel is different for everyone. There are no two people who experience the exact same thing

cleared the way for many young explorers. Women such as Harriet Martineau set an example for
women everywhere; that one does not have to get married and settle down, but can instead

From a religious perspective, the people of the Hawaiian islands were deplorable. Marshall
Sahlins calls Hawaiian culture Aphrodisian, and cites as evidence a nineteenth century missionary
who complained that islanders practiced twenty forms of intercourse and had as many words for
coitus (Horwitz 392). In the West, the topic of sex is extremely taboo. Public displays of affection
or lustful words are considered sinful. When Captain James Cook sailed to this area, many of his
men participated in debauchery with the exotic women. In this situation, the men had absolutely
no respect for the Islander dwellers. The culture was to their liking, therefore they borrowed it
for a little while. If there was any real respect for these people, the Western men would have tried
to to accept more pieces of it, instead of the parts that gave them pleasure. In Blue Latitudes, when
the Natives took the belongings of the crew, Cook planned to do what he had done many times
before in the Pacific: seize a chief and hold him until stolen goods were returned (Horwitz 405).
Instead of trying to understand why the men would act like this, Cook acted upon his most primal
instincts to get the possessions back. The Western travellers in many situations simply took
advantage of the people they happened upon. One prime example of this comes from Heart Of

allocated proportionately to those people she deemed to be the closest to her. Thus, the further
away from Jackie via bloodline, the less the person inherited and the less personal the gifts seemed
to be. The majority of her real and personal property was left to her children, while friends and

  • 2. Mrs. G Chen Psyche Alternate Ending Mrs. G. Chen was just walking on a street. Actually, never mind. She was RUNNING down the street in North Korea, just barely escaping the old ladies who were trying to lick her pinky toe, and also the hunky men who were trying to kick her and call her Ahjumma (a married middle aged lady in Korean), led by Kim Jong Un, despite her actually not being married, despite the fact that she has a Mrs. before her name (Don t ask me why!). This wasn t some rare nogoodhorrificbadterriblenotsocomfortable day. This happened at least 3 times every day as far as I know, and today s was a tame one compared to her other days. Get away you cake sniffer baka! she screamed in Korean as she fell down a manhole. She kept running, but eventually fell down another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ohhhhhhh. You re in America. , he said. Mrs. Chen gasped the loudest gasp anyone could possibly gasp. She then started to cry. Oh no! I in land Trump! The boy looked very VERY confused and worried so he (for some reason) decided to tell her his name. aHEM! My name is MECHANICUS! , he proudly announced with a smirk on his face. Now, even though her English speaking is terrible, she knew English quite well, and she may seem ditzy and clueless, but she wasn t unintelligent. In fact, she was one of the smartest ladies in her town. Knowing this, I don t believe you should be surprised when she didn t believe him. You LIE! , she scoffed, and thankfully, Mechanicus understood what she meant. He looked very shocked and troubled. WHAT!? Oh, come on! It says so on my nametag! , he exclaimed, as Mrs. G Chen just noticed the blue nametag on his shirt. On it, said Mechanicus in the worst handwriting you could ever imagine. Just then, a teenage girl (Chen guessed she was 17) with a radiant and bright dress, light skin, light brown hair, and very red lips came running to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Genesis Of The Business Model Canvas The genesis of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) consists of nine building blocks that describe a business model. They are: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Customer Relationships, Channels, Revenue Streams, Key Partners, Key Activities, Key Resources and Cost Structure. (Osterwalder, A., Pigneur, Y, 2010) One of the unique features of the approach of the Business Model Canvas is that this tool allows for easy, visual representation for decision makers to think about. The tool provides a dissection of the major concerns impacting the business and also represents the direction the organization is taking through its business model. As author Dan Roam states, visual thinking to solve complex problems is what the BMC is all about. The Business Model Generation does have it strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps the main asset of the BMC is the visual illustration. One main drawback is the limited aim of an organization; that is, it targets profit generation and for non profit purposes of an organization. The benefits will be touched on below, but the Osterwalder/Pigneu business model leaves out one key ingredient. Omitting the basic fact that competition is not mentioned in this theory seems to be a glaring omission. Advancement springs from competition and so does better customer service. In our reading, the business model canvas is a great tool that fosters understanding, discussions, creativity and analysis. The nine basic blocks demonstrate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gioia Pinto Fire Case 1.Evaluate Gioia s decisions in the Pinto fires case and his later reflections of his decisions form the standpoint of Hooker s three tests and Rawls liberty and difference principles. It is difficult to evaluate Mr. Gioia s decision in the Pinto fire cases because of how he presents himself in his book. He reminds me of kids who are trying to find their identity. I interpret the way he wrote his book as a way to separate himself from one of the horrendous practice in the automotive industries, because he plays no part in allowing the issue to continue. I don t believe he actually admit that he made a mistake. This is great beginning of this paper. From the Hooker s generalization test standpoint, Gioia (1992) failed the test, ... • 5. Wound Cleaning Research Paper When the majority of the wound is not covered by necrotic tissue (at least 75%) our treatment should be focused on selective debridement. With this type of removal we will only be working with the necrotic tissue. Depending on the physicians order we may use this in our treatment. Another important aspect is woundcleansing. Every time the dressing is changed they should clean the wound. We should avoid using hydrogen peroxide, soap, povidone iodine because they could damage the healing process. The recommended solutions are water (drinkable tap or sterile) and normal saline. We should also consider using syringe irrigation to apply the solution. Finally, wound moisture is another important aspect we would need to take into consideration. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Mueller Reasoning Heaven is According to Mueller images of joy that lie before us, but words can t fully embrace the joys of heaven. No eyes has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9 10) Therefore, based on Mueller reasoning in order for a person to get into heaven has to receive God s grace. Though God desires the salvation of all human beings but he has done all the necessary for our salvation in Jesus Christ. Furthermore, we will have to be immortal and free of temptation, sin, disease, death, and all the other effects of sin. Our current lives are so affected by sinfulness that we may find it hard to comprehend the difference ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. International Federation Of State High School Athletes Literature Review Relevance Participation in sports has steadily increased throughout the decades. As more and more major professional sports franchises continue to eclipse the one billion mark in value, the fame and wealth that can be obtained by reaching the profession ranks becomes irresistible to many students who have a passion for athletics. For some of these students, reaching the professional ranks is way to pull their family out of the lower class, and into the higher echelon of the upper class. For others, simply competing against the best in the world is a dream come true. The National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS), as reported a twenty six year increase in the participation of high school athletics (NFHA, 2015). As the general popularity of athletics increases, so does the level of participation in high school athletics. The odds of making the professional ranks, however, are slim to none, as only 6% of high school student athletes go on to play at the collegiate level (NCAA, 2015). Therefore, states, communities, educators, and parents continue to stress academics before athletics. In fact, when we address athletes in school, we address them as student athletes. Numerous studies have been conducted throughout the years that highlight the benefits of participating in school sponsored athletics. The benefits encompass a broad range of outcomes, from improvements in personal characteristics, to academic performance. Academic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Key Concepts Of The Trinity The Trinity is the word that we use to describe the nature of God. God consists of three simultaneous, eternal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God being simultaneous or existing at the exact same time as three different entities is one of the key concepts of the Trinity. These three Persons not only exist as one in the present moment, but will continue to do so with no end. The way they relate to each other is eternal and also unchangeable. The Trinityhas always been, and will always be. The Trinity has no beginning nor an end. All three Persons in the Trinity are the same in nature, as well as being completely divine with equal attributes. Although the three persons in the Godhead are one in the same, they do perform ... • 9. What Are The Pros And Cons Of Common Core Common Core State Standards have been a hot topic for a few years. While both sides of the argument make valid points, often people lose sight of the greatest importance in the debate. The students. The children s best interests need to be on the forefront of either side. Nearly all can agree that in educationa national set of standards is necessary for this country. This is not the first time in history that America s educational principles have been up for debate. The basic idea of common core is to prepare students for responsibility as a citizen in this society. Students must be able to read and distill complex sentences and must be equipped with basic mathematical skills. The actual impact the standards will have on education will not be revealed for several years, however it is thought that implementing a national set of standards will nothing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Digging deeper into concepts and increasing rigor will enable our children to be competitive in today s world and the playing field comparing our educational system to other countries will be leveled. Higher education has a history of complaining that students are not ready for college level courses and remediation classes have been necessary. Implementing common core could eliminate those classes while teaching students how to think and problem solve before leaving high school. An additional issue against common core is the financial burdens that could be put on schools and districts as a result of implementation. From purchasing newly aligned textbooks and materials, to updating technology in order to complete the standard assessment all online. With this assessment comes an increased value in the results. If the scores are compared nationally it is assumed that already high stakes testing will only get higher by opening up Pandora s Box of national assessment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Soundtrack of My Life Soundtrack of my Life Throughout my life I have heard many songs and many of them have remained with me in my memories. I think the main artists I remember from my childhood are Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Michael Jackson. Born in the USA from Bruce Springsteen is the main one because this was the only song that my dad and I could agree on. His favorite song was Tom Pettys Free Fallin which at that time I highly disliked; I have learned to like it with time now. And then for Michael Jackson, he had many songs that I remember, but I think Bad sticks out the most to me. Everytime I think of these songs I just think of being a child, and how I had no worries then, it seemed like such a peaceful world. As I got older I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I really can t say that I associate any certain songs with happiness. Kind of like I said above, I like fast paced upbeat songs, they keep me in a good mood. I don t mind slow songs, a lot of them are very good songs, but can make me cry. Especially now that I am pregnant, some sad songs or slow songs are just automatic tear jerkers and hey really shouldn t be. I like songs that have good messages behind them. A lot of newer music hese days have good beats, but have very poor messages behind them. I think this is one thing I always liked about Eminem; he always seemed to rap about things that have a good message, instead of talking about getting wasted at the club or sleeping around. I don t think this is the type of stuff our kids these days should be hearing about. I guess all they have to do is turn on the TV and they ll see this too, but I think it is something we should be discouraging, not encouraging. But I guess that is where the parents need to step in and explain right from wrong to their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Importance Of Teaching And Learning Approaches ADAPT TEACHING AND LEARNING APPROACHES AND RESOURCES, INCLUDING TECHNOLOGIES TO MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF LEARNERS. UNIT 2, 5.6 LITERATURE REVIEW Agreeing with Littlemore and Oakey (2004), we founds that teachers are sometimes overwhelmed by the technology and do not seriously think about how it might be usefully applied (Davies, 2009). Indeed, language learning and teaching approach should be pedagogy driven and learning based, which is more rigid and emphasises on the needs of learners with the aid of technology resource and tools. Contrarily, technology driven approach which attempts to formulate a pedagogy based on the cutting edge advantages of a new device, should be abandoned. If a language teaching or learning project is driven by the fashionable technology, it might pose the danger to the learners as well as the teachers disappearing over the horizon of SLA pedagogy. Number of research reveal that learners dislike reading large amount of text on the screen, such as Wiki, and they often prefer to print out the documents for reading. For instance, Boulton s (2005) paper indicated that less than 20% of his students are happy with on screen reading. Anderson (2003) reports that metacognitive online reading strategies plays important role in online L2 reading. Despite of input issue, barrier of producing written output using ICT tools has also been noticed. Mishan (2004) points out that it might sometimes be challenging for learners to compose on screen. Dangerous Sugar Hazards Research Paper Dangerous Sugar Hazards Ahead: Killer Candy Bombs of sugar are hurled at you, the pins of grenades of artificial preservatives have been pulled, bugs of all sort have surrounded you, no matter where you look these are all in the health killer called candy. For instance candy upholds too much sugar; according to my calculations and the nutrition facts from the Twix official packaging one minis Twix bar is 1.79 ounces yet about 10% (or 5 grams) of the bar is pure sugar aside from the artificial ingredients in the rest of the bar. For some people eating all that sugar from the chocolate, caramel, and cookie just overloads their mouth. In spite of eating sugar, once you eat at least six Twix bars the sugar adds up to drinking a pop of soda. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Write An Alternate Ending To Jane Eyre Please, let it be cholera. Emma Bertrand pressed a hand against the churning in her stomach and forced herself to move one foot in front of the other. As silent as possible, she crept along the dark hallway toward her mother s bedchamber. Her father said the sickroom was no place for a twelve year old girl, but she had to know for certain if her suspicions were true. The only light filtering up the wide spiral staircase came from the gas lamps in one of the rooms on the first floor. The unlit chandelier above the foyer tinkled softly as the wind outside seeped through the cracks and crevices of the mansion on St. Charles. Muted voices drifted from somewhere below. Her father and uncle discussing business, most likely. The few servants still... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She should check the chamber pot cholera would make the contents pale and watery; blood might indicate arsenic but she couldn t bring herself to look inside. Not yet, anyway. She d search for other signs first. Inching onto the edge of the mattress, she leaned over to check her mother s breath for any hint of garlic another sign of arsenic. The floorboard in the hallway creaked again. Emma flew off the bed and dashed for cover behind the silk dressing screen. Her heart pounded. Sweat trickled down the side of her face. • 14. Osteobiologic Materials Different types of osteobiologic materials include: metal based, ceramic based and polymer based bone graft substitutes either with or without various types of cells. Some of these materials may have various bioactive molecules such as growth factors embedded in them [47], [48 52] for example: BMP 2 [53 55], TGF b [54], GDF 5 [56, 57] and VEGF [58] or a mixture [57], since these growth factors are among of the multiple factors expressed during boneregeneration [59 61]. Such materials have been investigated widely in literature[62], [63] to exhibit specific responses. Calciumphosphate showed osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties in the form of sintered ceramics [64 67], cements [68, 69], and coatings [70, 71]. Besides calcium phosphate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One method is uses ion impregnation of the surface [84]. This method allows the material to act in such a way that they can either promote bone formation or reduce bone loss, since ions are essential factors for enzymes. Bioinorganic ions can modulate angiogenesis to accelerate healing, induce osteogenesis, and stimulate proliferation of osteoblast control. However the use of inorganic ions can also cause toxicity [85]. An example of a bioinorganic ion used on titanium is calcium ions. Calcium modified implants, create a concentration gradient of chemo attractants for mesenchymal and osteoprogenitor cells on the implant surface. Moreover, calcium modified titanium surfaces have electrical characteristics different from normal titanium surface, this change in the electrical properties on the surface increases the composition of adsorbed biofilm [86]. Other ions used to modify titanium surfaces are phosphate ions [87]. • 17. Applying Mahler s Model Of Separation Individuation Essay 3. Apply Mahler s model of separation individuation to explain the child s behavior. Mahler s model of separation individuation theorizes that after the first few weeks of infancy, in which the infant is either sleeping or barely conscious, the infant goes from a phase called normal symbolic phase, in which it identifies itself as one with its mother within the larger environment (Margaret Mahler and the Separation Individuation Theory). This then leads to the separation individuation phase that includes several stages or sub phases that influence the infant to distinguish itself from its mother, discovers its own identity, will, and individuality. According to Mahler, the normal symbiotic phase extends from the first signs of conscious awareness at four to six weeks until about five months of age. In the normal symbiotic phase, the infant is now aware of its mother, but has no sense of individuality of its own. In the separation individuation phase, the infant gets out of its autistic shell and slowly begins to connect with its environment and with people in it. Separation refers to the development of limits and to the differentiation in the infants mind between the infant and the mother, whereas individuation refers to the development of the infant s ego, sense of identity, and cognitive abilities (Margaret Mahler and the Separation Individuation Theory). According to Mahler, the phases listed above are divided into three sub phases, which occurs in the following: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theory Of Psychology And Personality Development Personality Report There are many theorists that have made psychology incredible, and have paved the way for what we believe psychology to consist of today. Some important theorists that I believe have made a huge contribution are Sigmund Freud, Karen Horney, and Dollard and Miller. These theorists have all had their own view on personality development, and I believe that these ideas have shaped the way in which we view psychology today. The many interpretations of conflict, psychotherapy, and cultural and biological aspects of personality have shaped their views and differences as well. Sigmund Freud, known as the father of psychology, developed some of the first theories of modern psychology. One of his well known theories is the structural model of the psyche. Though the process might be helpful in eliminating the pain caused from another person, four key scenes show how the lessons learned through relationship experiences are important. At the start of the film, Joel Barish (Jim Carey) finds himself waking up in the morning from what appears to have been a deep sleep. With a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though Joel is very nervous and unsure about walking out onto the frozen river, Clementine runs and slides past him. After falling and getting up, she then pressures Joel to step out of his comfort zone and to walk out onto the ice. At this point, the outing becomes more than just a part of a romantic date, but also a new experience for Joel. While Joel is normally quiet and to himself about everything, this outing made him get out of his comfort zone and do something he otherwise wouldn t even think to do. With this being a new experience for him to loosen up and have some fun, such a lesson could provide him a change of pace from the dull and boring routine of his normal life. Another scene in the movie is the fight between Clementine and Joel. Joel is sitting at home worried late one night when Clementine shows up at three in the morning tipsy. She tells Joel that she wrecked his car, which upsets Joel. He begins letting his emotions get the best of him and fires off by telling her how she was being irresponsible and could have seriously injured someone. Responding to the criticism, Clementine tells Joel he sounds like an old lady. The small argument grows larger as the two begin throwing low blows targeting each other s insecurities. At this point, Clementine quickly grabs her things and leaves. Having a dispute with someone is a part of life. • 36. Harriet Martineau s Travel Travel is different for everyone. There are no two people who experience the exact same thing when they leave the comforts of their homes. For some people during Victorian times to the mid 1900 s travelling was a way of life. Explorers such as Captain James Cook and Percy Fawcett cleared the way for many young explorers. Women such as Harriet Martineau set an example for women everywhere; that one does not have to get married and settle down, but can instead discover the mysteries of the world. The travellers in discussion all came from a Western perspective. When approaching the natives, however, each person, man or woman, had a varying reaction. Western explorers felt superior to the Native people of the lands, but each person reflected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From a religious perspective, the people of the Hawaiian islands were deplorable. Marshall Sahlins calls Hawaiian culture Aphrodisian, and cites as evidence a nineteenth century missionary who complained that islanders practiced twenty forms of intercourse and had as many words for coitus (Horwitz 392). In the West, the topic of sex is extremely taboo. Public displays of affection or lustful words are considered sinful. When Captain James Cook sailed to this area, many of his men participated in debauchery with the exotic women. In this situation, the men had absolutely no respect for the Islander dwellers. The culture was to their liking, therefore they borrowed it for a little while. If there was any real respect for these people, the Western men would have tried to to accept more pieces of it, instead of the parts that gave them pleasure. In Blue Latitudes, when the Natives took the belongings of the crew, Cook planned to do what he had done many times before in the Pacific: seize a chief and hold him until stolen goods were returned (Horwitz 405). Instead of trying to understand why the men would act like this, Cook acted upon his most primal instincts to get the possessions back. The Western travellers in many situations simply took advantage of the people they happened upon. One prime example of this comes from Heart Of Darkness. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Wills Law Essay Wills Problem: The Estate of Jackie Kennedy Onassis 1.The overall testamentary plan seems to be that Jackie Kennedy Onassis (testator) estate was allocated proportionately to those people she deemed to be the closest to her. Thus, the further away from Jackie via bloodline, the less the person inherited and the less personal the gifts seemed to be. The majority of her real and personal property was left to her children, while friends and other relatives received legacy gifts. Some of the gifts to her friends were very specific (as in question 3), so it is likely that there was some sort of sentimental value between Jackie, the devisee, and the property in question. The modern Stage 3 rule, UPC В§ 2 603, saves devisees to three basic groups: grandparents, descendants of grandparents, and stepchildren. This UPC Stage 3 rule does not apply to non relatives whatsoever. Jackie Kennedy Onassis left gifts to Mellon, Tempelsman, and Forger, but she listed them in her will as friends . Because they predeceased the testator and no alternative beneficiaries were stated for their gifts, one must look to see if there is an applicable Stage 2 anti lapse statute. Under both Stage 2 and Stage 3 majority rules, anti lapse statutes do not protect friends ; therefore the gifts would fail. It is possible that First D could be construed as naming Jackie s children as alternate beneficiaries if First A, B, C failed, so the testator s surviving children would take these gifts. 3.Jackie Kennedy Onassis left Maurice Tempelsman in FIRST B, a Greek alabaster head of a woman.
