Edvard Munch The Scream Meaning
Art has evolved over millennia of years to become what it is now. However, what is the exact element
that people speak of when they say the word: art? The first known use of the word art was during the
13th century, making it quite a recent word, and it comes from the latin word ars meaning skill or
craft. Through this, one might see that art is something that is created, such as a painting or sculpture.
Be that as it may, art has evolved to fit many definitions, and definitions are simply the opinions,
widespread as they are, of those that wrote the dictionaries that many follow to this day. It is my belief
that art is more than a creation made by one, but an experience, or an emotion felt when seeing or
hearing the creation. To begin, many people respond differently to different types of art. This is
because artists allow for the viewer to judge what they see for themselves rather than force one idea
onto the masses. The Scream by Edvard Munch to many people can represent the anguish and
complexity of life and all of the choices that accompany it. However, others may see it as simply a
face of surprise when encountering startlement. It does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Music is a simple example of this. Many people have a collection of songs that they listen to when
calm, angry, or happy. Music with heavy beats and loud bases causes one to feel excited or energized,
while simple, easy to follow instrumental music is able to calm one and allow one serenity. The song
Thunderstruck by ACDC or Renegade by Styx has a different experience than that felt by The I Love
You Song from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Knowing this, people choose songs
that they want to listen to based off of their emotions. The art compels one to be influenced into
feeling different emotions, and without the experience created by the music, music would not be

Quality Of Project Quality Management
Quality in Project quality management
Project quality management ensures that the quality of the project is up to the quantified standard
defined by the company.
It was suggested by (Gomes et al, 2005) that as a result of similar management techniques in
efficiently operating companies globally it can be concluded that the most successful companies focus
on maximizing customer s satisfaction.
The various methods important for understanding objectives of project quality management are ISO,
PMBOK, AGILE, PRINCE2, Six Sigma and many others. Six Sigma was developed by Motorola
Bisgaard (2007) suggests that Six Sigma has basic five phases, which includes defining, measuring,
analyzing, improving and controlling.
As suggested by ISO (2003), international standards constitutes of eight management principles:
 Customer Importance
 Leadership
 Involvement of people
 Process tactic
 System tactic to management
 Continual improvement
 Precise approach to decision making
 Mutually beneficial supplier affairs
ISO (2003) further suggests that project procedures that come under the quality management system
should be managed in order to achieve the purposes of the project. Moreover, the objectives of the
project and the goals related to the products should always consider customer satisfaction as their
priority.
Research methodology
The objective of the study is to explore the opinion about quality in AICA Group, more specifically in
engineering and immigration. Personal

Summary Of How To Touch A Bleeding Dog
Love can often cause people to adjust their lifestyle to another person s. How to Touch a Bleeding
Dog shows how a guy who once had a wife that he loved took care of one of her most precious
possessions. It s safe to say the average human being doesn t have to have mutual friendship (a
human) with the dog in order to like him/her. In this case however the main character from this short
story says that the dog is not his, but is his responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due
to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world from the
relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for
the Beth leaving her husband on his own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she
may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having feelings of
loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that inside is warm , and outside is cold , This
could be tied as symbolism of the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog
passed away the main character said that it s not my dog, but it s my responsibility , this can make the
reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. There are
definitely some parallels between the dog and Beth. They both end up being burdens on the main
character and leaving behind more for him to deal with. After the dog passes away the main character
says the blood on the carpet of the car is out of sight, and I will pretend it isn t there. And then there s
the touch. The touch can be seen as how the dog emotionally affected him by passing away. The dog
did bring sadness to the main characters life due to the memories the main character seemed to have
when he interacted with the dog. I watched my hand volunteer itself and run its finger through the nap
of his head . The way this sentence is put together makes it sound as if his caring for the dog was an
involuntary action. One would think that if the pet had a close connection to a person, and that person
has passed away that someone who misses the person that has passed may use the pet to help with the
loss. The main character s

Agile Methodology For Software Development
A single definition of agile methodology in software development is not easily found. We should
consider agile methodology as an umbrella under which various agile methodologies rest. I will define
agile methodology as an alternative to traditional heavyweight , linear project management
methodologies that is marked by an adherence to and reliance on the individual not as a replaceable
part, constant interactions between the project team and the customer, adaptiveness, customer
collaboration, and responsiveness to change throughout a product s development, which is perpetual.
A major and initial influential force in agile methodology was Dr. Winston Royce. In 1970, he
published an article entitled Managing the Development of Large Software Systems . In this paper, he
argues software development is unlike the sequentially, siloed group phased execution auto
manufacturing sector and proposed an iterative and incremental approach, while also acknowledging
its risks, that today is commonly referred to as agile methodology. Throughout my reading on the
topic, I noted that the push for the use of agile methods in software development has been referred to
as a movement. And at the forefront of this movement is the Agile Alliance. In 2001, the Agile
Alliance published the Manifesto for Agile Software Development . I will not explore this group or its
manifesto further other than citing its opening salvo, listed on its website, in order to further
demonstrate the essence

Essay On The Hero s Journey In The Odyssey
In The Odyssey by Homer, the development of Odysseus s characterization through the course of the
epic portrays the hero s journey structure. The hero s journey chiefly consists of the departure, trials,
and the homecoming; the hero matures with the successful completion of each stage. Therefore,
Odysseus s character transformation as a hero metaphorically conveys his progress in the hero s
journey. In the beginning of the epic, Odysseus is like any other young, inexperienced hero with
excessive pride in his raw strength. As he truly begins his journey into the unknown (departure), he
learns that his character flaws threaten his objective. Up until his encounter with the Cyclops,
Odysseus was accustomed to winning with his physical might (Trojan War). However, when his
strength could do him no good while trapped in a cave with a beast, he was forced to think beyond
killing and combat; ultimately he met success by using his mind, something he had never done before.
Yet, still an immature hero, Odysseus brooded over his success and taunted the beast as he left the
island. In response, the blind thing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This major transition in characterization emerged as he learned to give up his flaws little by little. In
his encounter with the Sirens, he acted like a completely different person when he requested his dear
friends (689) to tie [him] up, tight as a splint (695). Earlier in his journey, he had used a belittling tone
to describe his men during the Cicones incident ( my men stood up and made a fight of it (57)). By the
time of the Sirens trial, Odysseus had really matured to appreciate his company s presence and
understand the importance of taking help from others. This development in maturity symbolizes his
progress in the hero s journey: he crossed the threshold as an amateur hero and returned to Ithaca as a
newly transformed

Home Vs. Concrete Wall Home
In truth, a concrete wall house is substantially warmer than stick built construction. Advanced
technology ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) homes are actually much warmer than traditional stud wall
construction, as well as being far more energy efficient. Here are the facts. Thermographic tests done
by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center showed that a solid ICF wall (a wall
without windows or other penetrations) has fewer cold spots than a wood framed wall. This is because
the thermal envelope the shield between outside and inside temperatures is much more difficult to seal
in conventional stud wall construction, so that cold easily travels through thermal bridging to create
uncomfortable cold spots inside the house. ICF walls, by contrast, are tightly sealed so that thermal
bridging is reduced, which makes for even temperatures and fewer cold spots and drafts. Moreover,
houses with ICF wall construction result in a 50% decrease in the capacity of HVAC equipment as
compared to wood framed wall construction (which of course implies greatly reduced heating and
cooling costs).
How does ICF construction accomplish this? Concrete form insulation is constructed of blocks of
parallel slabs of expanded polystyrene foam. These blocks are stacked up and snap together like
children s Lego toys. Steel rebar is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ICF construction is also four times more fire resistant than stick construction (ICF walls easily sustain
four hours of extreme fire temperatures, whereas wood frame walls don t exceed a one hour rating).
Moreover, ICF walls have much higher sound absorption than stick framed walls, which makes these
homes much quieter and more peaceful to live

Shorelines Over Time
I would have to say trying to stabilize the different shorelines can possible contribute to its erosion
over time. The various techniques for helping to preserve our n shorelines could possibly include
building a habitat somewhat artificially to help protect the shoreline. As well, someone may wish to
secure the local vegetation in a range that will likewise give an environment to diversion and natural
life in the region. However, one would say these processes are temporary as a result the movement of
sediment is always changing. All the same, it is a phenomenal approach to attempt to secure the
shoreline. Shoreline erosion is a natural process that takes place on lakes, streams, waterways and
along the coast. It is the progressive, albeit

Zachary Taylor Research Paper
Based on President Zachary Taylor s time in office and the one or two things that he accomplished, he
should be rank with a 4. It s important to realize that within 16 months of office he had great foreign
relations with Great Britain, and he had a mindset to ban slavery in the new western territories, though
he was a slave owner. He didn t have really enough time during his presidency to do much of anything
due to his unsustained presidency. Former president Zachary Taylor main goal during his presidency
was the lead the army and recapture any states that seceded the union. He had a great military
background as the hero of the Mexican American War, and he was a nationalist that did not hesitate to
serve his country. Taylor also had at first intended to be a nonpartisan president, but under pressure
from his advisers he adopted the spoils system, awarding offices to party loyalists. As a result, much
of his time and many of his problems concerned the demands of unemployed Whig politicians. Jacob

The Theme Of Blindness In Cathedral By Raymond Carver
As we gain knowledge we gain understanding, giving us a different view of the world. In the story,
Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the author takes us through a day in the life of a husband who is forced
by his wife to meet and entertain her longtime friend Robert who happens to be blind. The husband is
not exactly excited by this visit. The author illustrates the characters development beginning as
apprehensive and jealous, transitioning to more of an uncomfortable feeling, and finally ending with
acceptance as the husband is put into a situation where he gains a new understanding of the blind man.
He ends the story with his eyes closed and a mind open to a new view of the world.
As the story begins, the author seems to portray the main character as apprehensive and jealous. As he
narrates the story, the husband opens with a blunt statement, his being blind bothered me. (34) It
immediately gives the reader the impression that he was very upset about the situation he was put in.
The husband seems more concerned with the fact that the man is blind and states later that his idea of
blindness came from movies. (34) Giving once again an example of how uncomfortable and really
uninformed he was. The husband has a stereotypical view of what a blind person should be like and
sticks to those thoughts throughout the beginning of the story. This gives the impression that he feels
that blindness is more of a handicap and make Robert unrelatable. He also seemed to be jealous of the

My Autoethnography Of Selfie
Autoethnography Essay
Ysabel Anne Aluquin (z5146099)
According to the Oxford Dictionary, selfie can be defined as a photograph that one has taken of
oneself (selfie, 2017). However, according to Rettberg, selfies are so much more than just a
photograph on the Internet, they are a form of digital self representation (Rettberg, 2014). I still
remember the very first selfie I took, with the back camera of an old Nokia phone. This was before the
invention of the front facing camera and in comparison, I must say that my selfie skills have most
definitely improved. Just like with age, my selfies have evolved over time and in this
autoethnography, I will be looking at three different selfies from three different points in my life and
examining how they represented me in those different moments. This essay will touch mainly on how
my selfies represent my gender and sexuality and how over time I had learned to embrace both aspects
of myself. I will start off by presenting a selfie from 2012, which was taken during one of my more
awkward stages in life when I was studying in an all girls Catholic high school.
This first selfie was my Facebook profile picture for a while. At this time, I was halfway through high
school and was slowly, but steadily, coming out of a very awkward stage. The thing about being in all
girls school is that there were only two main ways to be yourself. This is because we all wore the same
uniform and did not have the freedom to express

Argumentative Essay On Immigration Rights
Immigration rights and importance is one of the United States biggest issues. Many believe that legal
immigrants are treated as normal citizens. But they are not. Law enforcement breaks laws and are
unconstitutional. Also, the government believes that immigrants take resources and are a danger to
society. But is all of this true. Do immigrants take or provide resources? Do immigrants get as equal
treatment as natural born citizens? I believe that immigrants provide more resources than they take.
Also I believe that they do not get the same treatment as natural born citizens. The common good of
immigrants and immigration is that they give our economy a boost and immigrants help work forces.
Also, if the immigrant is legal shouldn t they have the same individual rights as a natural born citizen.
This issue is important because it is one of the biggest debates in the United States today.
So what is immigration? Immigration is defined as the travel into a country for the purpose of

A valley is a common landform. They are found all over the earth, along the ocean floor, and even on
other planets! Valleys are formed through a process called erosion. During erosion rock and soil wear
down over a long period of time. There are three main types of valleys: river valleys, glacial valleys,
and flat floored valleys. A river valley is formed by a river. They are v shaped and have taller areas of
land on either side of the river. A glacial valley is formed by glaciers. They are u shaped, wide, and
deep. These valleys are created by huge sheets of ice that flow down a mountain and carve away at it.
Flat floored valleys are the most common type of valley. They ve eroded the ground for so long they

The Persian Gulf War And The Arab War
Persian Gulf War A brief history of the middle east and the nation of Iraq prior to the Persian Gulf War
will help explain why the Persian Gulf War was viewed as necessary by the allied countries. The
formation of a coalition of countries, the use of innovative military equipment, and strategic military
operations helped the allied forces secure victory in the Persian Gulf War. The effects of this victory
and subsequent conflict have changed our world as we know it. The Persian Gulf is one of the oldest
known trade routes in the world. Conflict is a major issue in that region also. Oil is a part of the reason
there is conflict. Great Britain used to control Iraq because of the oil in the nation. Iraq has been a
nation with copious amounts of border conflicts and wars. Saddam Hussein, who supported the Ba
athist party, assumed the role of president of Iraq in 1979. In September 1980, Saddam Hussein
ordered his troops into Iran oil fields, thus starting the Iraq Iran war; another Iraqi conflict; in which
Saddam Hussein was fighting Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a Shīʿite who disliked
Saddam Hussein. ( Saddam Hussein ) Saddam Hussein could be classified as brutal leader, as he

Ignorance In Flowers For Algernon
The novel Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes is an excellent written novel that has deep meaning
to it. The novel is about a 32 year old man named Charlie Gordon who is mentally disabled, and he
goes through a medical procedure which enhances his knowledge. Throughout the novel, all Charlie
wants to be is normal. Charlie just wants to fit in, have friends, and make his parents proud. Charlie is
the first person ever to go through this surgery so he is going through a journey that only he has
experienced. In the novel, Charlie s operation is based off of a similar operation that was performed on
a mouse called Algernon and the things that happen to Algernon usually end up happening to Charlie.
As Charlie s intelligence increases he goes through struggles that affect his relationships and his views
on life. Charlie experiences and remembers things that have happened previously in his life and his
ultimate goal is to learn his past. At the end of the novel Charlie starts to lose his intelligence which
results in his ultimate demise. Depending on the situation, ignorance is bliss, however, there are other
scenarios where knowing the whole truth regardless of the consequences is also beneficial.
To begin with, ignorance in certain situations is bliss and sometimes not knowing the whole truth is
better than knowing all of it. This is certainly the case for Charlie because in the beginning of the
novel Charlie s intelligence is very low and he doesn t understand what is going

Drug Testing In Sports Essay
A dominant problem in sport today is the use of performance enhancing drugs (doping). The
temptation of doping is high because athletes are constantly judged on their performance. However
drug testing is costly; per person, a drug test costs around $700. New Zealand athletes are often
missing out on dreams they have worked a lifetime to fulfill, because of world wide, performance
enhancing drug use. Drug testing has an exorbitant cost. New Zealand s expenditure alone in 2015/16
amounted to $2.962 million. Are these tests even fair and worth the cost? Most athletes consume some
sort of dietary supplement that has no evident effect on performance enhancement, for example, a
simple multivitamin can test positive in a drug test from being on the same production line as a
prohibited substance. An unpublished survey revealed that 93% of elite New Zealand athletes had
ingested at least 3 dietary supplements in the 6 months previous, a risk when drug testing is

Christian Life Coaching Analysis
I like how Dr. Gary Collins, in his book Christian Coaching: Helping Others Turn Potential into
Reality (Collins, 2002), calls attention to the 1500 s description of the word coach as a horse drawn
vehicle that was used to get you to where you wanted to go. You can use that definition as one way to
define the word coach in the coaching terms. In the presentation Coaching: The new helping
relationship , Dr. Catherine Hart Weber defines coaching as an ongoing intimate transparent
relationship for those making important changes in life. The big difference between coaching and all
the of the others, is that as a coach you aren t solving there problems or helping them heal from the
past, you are the motivation to think further into next steps of what they want to accomplish. This can

the motif the unnatural to show that Macbeth has committed a crime so foul that even the natural order
of things has been thrown off balance. During Act 2, there are a couple unnatural occurrences taking
place, especially containing animals. For example, A falcon, tow ring in her pride of place, / Was by a
mousing owl hawked at and killed. (15 16). A falcon s pride of place is high in the sky, so it is very
unusual that a owl, who eats mice on the ground, flew up to kill the falcon. There is a contrast seen in
both animals due to the falcon being a day creature and the owl being a hunter of the night. Both
animals are used to symbolize Macbeth (the owl) killing Duncan (the falcon), who was high in social
status due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

side of him (the night side) is dark and stained with blood, versus the other side (the light side) is
guilty of the deed he has committed and refuses to see it. Macbeth wanted dark night so he would not

Asian Americans may also be discouraged to go into pre collegiate teaching because they feel a sense
of personal inadequacy. In the United States, school is seen as a social service mission, where
teachers, who are primarily female, are tasked to teach students, especially those from working class
and immigrant backgrounds, middle class values. Chinese tradition, in contrast, has different views on

For Asian Americans who do decide to pursue teaching K 12 as a career, however, these feelings of
personal inadequacy still persist. In Nguyen s (2008) article focusing on five Vietnamese American
preservice teachers, who did some or all of their K 12 education in Vietnam, Nguyen (2008) found
that her participants saw that their distinct cultural and physical characteristics did not fir those of a
traditionally defined American teacher, which caused parents, but not students, to look down on these
teachers (p. 127). Like Gordon (2000), Nguyen (2008) found many of her participants were trying to
live up to the Confucian model of a teacher they were used to having in Vietnam but were struggling
to apply their perception of teaching within a United States context. Asian Americans who would
become teachers, then, seem to struggle with wanting to try to assert themselves as experts in the
classroom while also feeling alienated from the teaching profession because of the typical notions of

An Important Aspect Of Anterior Cruciate Ligament...
Introduction An important aspect of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a postoperative
rehabilitation program that aims to return the patient to their daily work activities as soon as possible.
There are many variations to a rehabilitation program that have common checkpoints that a physical
trainer strives to complete. One variation that is used deals with neuromuscular electrical stimulation
and its use to counteract strength loss present after ACL reconstruction. The purpose of the
randomized controlled trial was to compare the effect of utilizing traditional neuromuscular electrical
stimulation (NMES) or a neuromuscular electrical stimulation integrated knee sleeve to a regular
postoperative rehabilitation program.
Background The primary goals of rehabilitation of ACL reconstruction are to reduce inflammation,
regain normal range of motion, recover neuromuscular strength and functional performance, and
ultimately retrain the patient s body to perform everyday activities once again. Superimposing NMES
on a voluntary muscular contraction was shown to be more beneficial to the patient than utilizing a
NMES or voluntary muscular contraction separately. Intensity and duration of the NMES treatments
were important factors that influenced treatment outcomes as well as overall patient compliance when
high stimulation levels were applied. There were two different means that NMES was administered, a
traditional Polystim device with lead wires and a Kneehab

Critique Of An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
Critique of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge
Summary of Major Ideas In An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, Ambrose Bierce tells the story of
Peyton Farquhar, a man who is about to be hanged for aiding the Confederacy during the Civil War. In
the moments before his hanging, he reminisces about scheming to set a bridge on fire in order to
prohibit the advancement of Union soldiers, which is why he is being hanged. Peyton then begins
plotting his escape and the reader is tricked into thinking he escapes his execution and makes it safely
to his house, when in reality he is actually hanged.
Critical Evaluation First, Bierce effectively portrays imagery through his thorough description of the
setting at Owl Creek Bridge. He starts by describing a man standing on a railroad bridge, gazing into
the water several feet below with his hands tied and a rope around his neck. This really gives the
reader the view and the physical feeling from the man s perspective. Bierce also explains the various
positions of the soldiers on the bridge and how their stances would have looked. For example he
writes, A sentinel at each end of the bridge stood with his rifle in the position known as support, that is
to say, vertical in front of the left shoulder, the hammer resting on the forearm thrown straight across
the chest a formal and unnatural position, enforcing an erect carriage of the body (Bierce, An
Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, 183). As a soldier in the Union Army, Bierce could

Geographic Differences Between Canada And The United States
Although they bear some superficial similarities, the differences between America and Canada are
striking. There are many differences between Canada and the United States such as ethnicity,
geography, population, politics, and many more. Of all the differences the focus of this paper will be
geography. Geographical differences can be seen through the land of the United States and Canada.
The geographical land known as the United States was not formed in a day. It took many years to
formulate into what is seen today. For example, the Appalachian Mountains were formed when two
plates collided together causing a buckling in the Earth s crust. They now form a boundary of the east
coast to the remainder of the country. On the west coast, one can find the Rockies which were formed
by the westward shift of the North American tectonic plate and its collision with the Pacific tectonic
plate causing folding forces. The Rockies actually connect the United States to Canada. Another
example of the different geographical aspects of Canada and the United States is the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon was created over many years by erosion from the Colorado River.

beautiful geographical difference between Canada and the United States were formed simply by large
torrents of water that were released from the melting ice, draining into what is now the Niagara River.
Niagara Falls is located in both the United States and Canada, but there is a big difference in the
scenery depending on which side one is viewing from. The water fell over the edge of the Niagara

A Study On Code Blue
Code Blue
It was February 16, 2016; when I woke up that morning to get ready for school, I had no idea that this
day would end up changing my life. My senior year of high school, I was accepted into a clinical
internship class, and today was my first day at a clinical site. For my first clinical rotation I was
assigned to the Emergency Room. I left school at 1:05 to go to my clinical site; it was cold outside and
the wind was subtlety blowing. I arrived at the Baptist Memorial Hospital at 1:18. As I went to sign in
at the health records department, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. I was filled with nerves
and a million thoughts going through my mind. All I could think about was how ready I was for my
time in the Emergency Department to be over so that I could go to another rotation site. When I
finished signing in and getting my picture taken for my Baptist Memorial Hospital I.D., I walked
down the hall to the Emergency Department. As I walked up to the desk, I could see that there were
very few patients in the waiting area; it looked like it would be a slow and easy day. I walked up to the
desk and told the women my name and my purpose for being there; she pushed the button on the side
of the wall to open the doors to let me in. As I walked into the Emergency Department, I was hit with
the smell of germ x and blood combined. Surrounding me were nurses dressed in blue scrubs. I went

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants currently has over 386, 00 members since

allow the private sector to regulate its accounting practice a policy that the commission has maintained
to date. The AICPA s Committee on Accounting Procedure (CAP) assumed the financial accounting
standard setting role in 1939. The AICPA shifted this responsibility to its Accounting Principles Board

Psychological Impact On Public Consciousness
INTRODUCTION
Psychological operations are successfully used to influence the public consciousness, the economy,
and the military operations.
THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS
Nowadays psychological operations are becoming an effective tool in both foreign and domestic
policy. They are widely used in the sphere of international relations to ensure the voluntary submission
of opponents, to promote the activities of supporters, and to maintain a high level of motivation
among allies. One of the most important elements of these actions is the informational and
psychological impact on public consciousness. During the Gulf War PSYOPS effectively used to
influence on public consciousness of international community and local populations.
Before entering the war against Iraq in 1990, for multinational forces was necessary to explain the
causes of the war to the international community. Multinational forces had to clarify to the world all
reasons like: the restoration of Kuwait s lost independence (in August 1990, Iraqi troops occupied
Kuwait); Protection of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman against possible
aggression by Iraq; Protection of the freedom of global navigation in the Persian Gulf; Protection of
the trampled rights of Kurds and Shiites in Iraq. With using global information network, it became
possible to show the aggressiveness of Iraq and set up world public opinion against Iraq. At the same
time attempts by Iraq to find the support of other countries have

‘Sustainable Tourism Is a Myth.’ to What Extent Do You...
Sustainable Tourism is a Myth. To what extent do you agree with this statement? (15 Marks)
Sustainable Tourism is essentially an industry committed to making a low impact on the natural
environment and local culture, while helping to generate income and employment for local people. As
Global economists forecast continuing international tourism growth, this continuous growth will place
great stress on remaining biologically diverse habitats and indigenous cultures, which are often used to
support mass tourism. Therefore it is important that sustainable tourism is promoted and that people
are educated about the opportunities provided in order to minimize the effects that tourism poses on
the natural environment while helping to benefit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, both LEDC s and MEDC s are becoming to reliant on mass tourism and are not taking
into the account the impacts in the long term for example 85% of Majorca s income is through tourism
which means there is a lack of economic independence because if the island were to suddenly become
unfashionable then the Island would be left in a vulnerable income. This is especially the case here as
tourism has destroyed farming and agricultural labour which used to be the main source of income
which means Majorca has no other form of income to fall back on if tourism was to decrease in the
area.
Moreover, one of the main issues that sustainable tourism tries to embrace is having a low impact on
tourism but many countries who undertake in mass tourism have failed to properly take this into
account. For example, tourism around the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the largest commercial
activity there and accounts for 87% of the reefs economic output. However, this tourism has created
pollution through waste disposal, pollution from boats etc. This easily damages the Coral reef which
thus affects the species dependent on them. In addition, tourists disturb the wildlife as many seabirds
nest on the ground and when disturbed leave the nest which thus exposes young or eggs to predators
and developments for tourism damage coastal ecosystems such as the mangrove forests and estuaries

Theme Of The Last Death
THE LAST LEAF THEMES SACRIFICE: Sacrifice is one of the most important themes in this story.
This theme is depicted by Behrman as he risks his life for Johnsy. When he finds out about Johnsy s
illness and her pessimism that she will die once the last leaf falls, he decided to help her. So, he gets
out in that terrible cold weather in the middle of the night to paint an ivy leaf on the wall. As a result
he himself catches the Pneumonia and dies. So in this way the self sacrificing nature of Mr. Behrman
is shown in the story. FRIENDSHIP: Friendship is also one of the important themes in this story. The
love and affection between two friends i.e. Johnsy and Sue is shown in the story. Sue takes good care
of Johnsy when she falls ill. At that time Johnsy was pessimistic and was convinced that she will die

She is convinced that she will die once the last leaf falls. She says, When the last one falls I must go,

The Effects Of Elevated Carbon Dioxide ( Co2 ) Essay
2. Impact of Elevated Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a trace gas accounting for about 0.039 per cent or 390 ppm currently. CO2
concentration increases by 1 to 3 ppm every year primarily because of burning of fossil fuels. In
future, by 2100 the atmospheric CO2 concentration should reach 600 to 750 ppm. Plants are directly
influenced by increase in CO2 concentration; and increase in CO2 affects many physiological
processes like photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, reproductive processes, and yield. CO2
diffuses from the atmosphere into leaves, via., stomata into mesophyll cells, intercellular spaces, cells,
and finally reach chloroplast for photosynthetic process. Increasing CO2 concentration in the
atmosphere will enhance the photosynthesis and dry matter production. The response to CO2 varies
among species mainly by the enzyme RuBisCo (RuBP). C3 plants readily react by increasing the
activity of RuBP carboxylase and by reducing the activity of RuBP oxygenase. Increase in
photosynthesis by 25% 75% was observed over doubling of atmospheric CO2. C4 plants show little
response to elevated CO2. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) plants also showed an increase in
photosynthetic rate. The increasing concentration of CO2 by burning of fossil fuels can be reduced by
improving the carbon fixation in the plants. Short term exposure of CO2 on plants shows increased
photosynthesis, whereas long term exposure shows variation in photosynthesis and also plant growth.

Celtic Christianity and The Secret Rose Essays
Celtic Christianity and The Secret Rose
In William Butler Yeats The Secret Rose, the author develops his theme through choice of diction,
imagery, symbolism, and scansion. Yeats Irish background is an influential factor in terms of the tone
with which he addresses religious beliefs, and an acceptable interpretation of The Secret Rose depends
on one s knowledge of Celtic history and tradition.
Throughout his poem, Yeats uses a great deal of symbolism in describing the well known events that
surround the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Every line is significant in terms of how one understands the
statements (and questions) Yeats is posing. The Secret Rose is in itself, a noteworthy title, because it

Yeats style is quite prayerful his voice at first resembles an aged person who is seeking comfort as he
reaches his final days on Earth. At the end of the poem, Yeats voice has become one of assurance and
anticipation. This change in voice is quite effective in developing the idea that living is a circular
event, and death is certainly not a final destination. Furthermore, this belief is consistent with the
Celtic conviction that death must come before birth in the circle of life because there must be room for
new growth before it can occur.
The meter and rhyme scheme of Yeats poem are similarly structured to coincide with the belief that
life is an unending cycle. The poem is written in iambic pentameter, in pairs of rhyming couplets, and
the first rhyming couplet rhymes with the final couplet as well. In returning to the original rhyme,
Yeats reinforces the belief that life will continue in a non terminal circle.
The theme of Yeats poem deals with the anticipation of the Second Coming of Christ, a very Christian
viewpoint. However, in his writing Yeats incorporates an important part of his heritage: the Druids, an
ancient order of priests that played a pivotal part in the growth of Christianity in Ireland. In Druid

Since over 95% of American s manufacturing companies are considered to be small, with less than
100 workers, the trade agreement could be a crippling blow to the industry. American jobs will be lost
and American workers will be laid off. Consumers will suffer, business will suffer, and ultimately
America will suffer. Many argue that free trade will be beneficial for the economy, but exactly who is
benefiting? America won t benefit from this deal unless its export is greater than its import. Reports
from 2014 show that the U.S. imported $2.34 trillion in goods compared to exporting $1.62 trillion
(Nash Hoff, 2015). This imbalance created a huge deficit over $720 billion, which is not even close to
being beneficial for the economy or the nation as a whole. The Peterson Institute for International
Economics estimates that the TPP would add $77.5 billion of income to the U.S. economy by 2025
(Miller, 2015). Although this seems like quite a large amount of money, it actually only represents a
gain of about 0.38% over the next decade. Some people believe this trade agreement will cause new
jobs to spring up but, in truth, a trade agreement does not on balance, create, or destroy jobs, it alters
the composition of the workforce (Miller, 2015). The income from the trade agreement wouldn t even
be a benefit to the workforce. A Center for Economic and Policy Research report looked into the

Fortinbras Laertes And Hamlet Comparison
In William Shakespeare s tragedy Hamlet , Fortinbras, Laertes, and Hamlet find themselves in very
similar situations. They all had love and respect for their father s and felt the need to avenge their
unjustified deaths. However, there are differences between them. The character of Fortinbras was the
only one to accomplish his goal and become king of Denmark in the end. Shakespeare s comment
through Fortinbras as a man of action, allowed the audience to see that he acts rather than thinks.
Hamlet is portrayed as weak and indecisive. When he is confronted with meeting the ghost of his
father and asked to avenge his death, he quickly agrees to the revenge and comes up with a plan to
fool everyone into thinking he is crazy. However, he is seen as a man who does not act, with his
inability to make decisions or quick actions does not help his plan of revenge.
GHOST

The Causes Of Youth Sports
Nine out of Ten kids say the reason they play youth sports to have fun. On another note 80% of
children drop out of youth sports by the age of 12 (Reed). Some of the most common reasons children
drop out of youth sports can range from something as simple as not having fun anymore to something
as complex to feeling as if the parent/coach is being unfair to them, like constantly getting judged after
every game. Parents can avoid this all by supporting, not over bearing, Nays, and making sure the
child is having fun and happy. The overall outcome of youth sports should be for the child to find
something they enjoy and to have fun doing it. Most kids when they are young try various sports and
activities to see what they enjoy and parents comments or overbearing should not be the reason why
the child decides to not give the sport a shot or finish out the season. Which is why parents
involvement in youth sports is vital to a child s development and behavior. One reason why parents
are a vital part about Youth Sports is for there support.
Most youth athletic programs depend on parent volunteers to keep the program running. Parents
provide an essential support system for athletes, their involvement may be as simple as transportation

  • 2. Edvard Munch The Scream Meaning Art has evolved over millennia of years to become what it is now. However, what is the exact element that people speak of when they say the word: art? The first known use of the word art was during the 13th century, making it quite a recent word, and it comes from the latin word ars meaning skill or craft. Through this, one might see that art is something that is created, such as a painting or sculpture. Be that as it may, art has evolved to fit many definitions, and definitions are simply the opinions, widespread as they are, of those that wrote the dictionaries that many follow to this day. It is my belief that art is more than a creation made by one, but an experience, or an emotion felt when seeing or hearing the creation. To begin, many people respond differently to different types of art. This is because artists allow for the viewer to judge what they see for themselves rather than force one idea onto the masses. The Scream by Edvard Munch to many people can represent the anguish and complexity of life and all of the choices that accompany it. However, others may see it as simply a face of surprise when encountering startlement. It does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Music is a simple example of this. Many people have a collection of songs that they listen to when calm, angry, or happy. Music with heavy beats and loud bases causes one to feel excited or energized, while simple, easy to follow instrumental music is able to calm one and allow one serenity. The song Thunderstruck by ACDC or Renegade by Styx has a different experience than that felt by The I Love You Song from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Knowing this, people choose songs that they want to listen to based off of their emotions. The art compels one to be influenced into feeling different emotions, and without the experience created by the music, music would not be classified as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Quality Of Project Quality Management Quality in Project quality management Project quality management ensures that the quality of the project is up to the quantified standard defined by the company. It was suggested by (Gomes et al, 2005) that as a result of similar management techniques in efficiently operating companies globally it can be concluded that the most successful companies focus on maximizing customer s satisfaction. The various methods important for understanding objectives of project quality management are ISO, PMBOK, AGILE, PRINCE2, Six Sigma and many others. Six Sigma was developed by Motorola Bisgaard (2007) suggests that Six Sigma has basic five phases, which includes defining, measuring, analyzing, improving and controlling. As suggested by ISO (2003), international standards constitutes of eight management principles:  Customer Importance  Leadership  Involvement of people  Process tactic  System tactic to management  Continual improvement  Precise approach to decision making  Mutually beneficial supplier affairs ISO (2003) further suggests that project procedures that come under the quality management system should be managed in order to achieve the purposes of the project. • 4. Summary Of How To Touch A Bleeding Dog Love can often cause people to adjust their lifestyle to another person s. How to Touch a Bleeding Dog shows how a guy who once had a wife that he loved took care of one of her most precious possessions. It s safe to say the average human being doesn t have to have mutual friendship (a human) with the dog in order to like him/her. In this case however the main character from this short story says that the dog is not his, but is his responsibility. This responsibility seemed to fall to him due to the passing of his wife. One could even say he seems disconnected from the world from the relationship that is seen between him and his dog. The dogs passing could be seen as a metaphor for the Beth leaving her husband on his own to provide for himself, to take care of any possessions she may have had, and to fight his depression alone. The main character is now having feelings of loneliness and depression. The first paragraph states that inside is warm , and outside is cold , This could be tied as symbolism of the fact that he is secluding himself from the world. When the dog passed away the main character said that it s not my dog, but it s my responsibility , this can make the reader think of all of the other responsibilities that the main character was left with. There are definitely some parallels between the dog and Beth. They both end up being burdens on the main character and leaving behind more for him to deal with. After the dog passes away the main character says the blood on the carpet of the car is out of sight, and I will pretend it isn t there. And then there s the touch. The touch can be seen as how the dog emotionally affected him by passing away. The dog did bring sadness to the main characters life due to the memories the main character seemed to have when he interacted with the dog. I watched my hand volunteer itself and run its finger through the nap of his head . The way this sentence is put together makes it sound as if his caring for the dog was an involuntary action. One would think that if the pet had a close connection to a person, and that person has passed away that someone who misses the person that has passed may use the pet to help with the loss. The main character s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Agile Methodology For Software Development A single definition of agile methodology in software development is not easily found. We should consider agile methodology as an umbrella under which various agile methodologies rest. I will define agile methodology as an alternative to traditional heavyweight , linear project management methodologies that is marked by an adherence to and reliance on the individual not as a replaceable part, constant interactions between the project team and the customer, adaptiveness, customer collaboration, and responsiveness to change throughout a product s development, which is perpetual. A major and initial influential force in agile methodology was Dr. Winston Royce. In 1970, he published an article entitled Managing the Development of Large Software Systems . In this paper, he argues software development is unlike the sequentially, siloed group phased execution auto manufacturing sector and proposed an iterative and incremental approach, while also acknowledging its risks, that today is commonly referred to as agile methodology. Throughout my reading on the topic, I noted that the push for the use of agile methods in software development has been referred to as a movement. And at the forefront of this movement is the Agile Alliance. In 2001, the Agile Alliance published the Manifesto for Agile Software Development . I will not explore this group or its manifesto further other than citing its opening salvo, listed on its website, in order to further demonstrate the essence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On The Hero s Journey In The Odyssey In The Odyssey by Homer, the development of Odysseus s characterization through the course of the epic portrays the hero s journey structure. The hero s journey chiefly consists of the departure, trials, and the homecoming; the hero matures with the successful completion of each stage. Therefore, Odysseus s character transformation as a hero metaphorically conveys his progress in the hero s journey. In the beginning of the epic, Odysseus is like any other young, inexperienced hero with excessive pride in his raw strength. As he truly begins his journey into the unknown (departure), he learns that his character flaws threaten his objective. Up until his encounter with the Cyclops, Odysseus was accustomed to winning with his physical might (Trojan War). However, when his strength could do him no good while trapped in a cave with a beast, he was forced to think beyond killing and combat; ultimately he met success by using his mind, something he had never done before. Yet, still an immature hero, Odysseus brooded over his success and taunted the beast as he left the island. In response, the blind thing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Earlier in his journey, he had used a belittling tone to describe his men during the Cicones incident ( my men stood up and made a fight of it (57)). By the time of the Sirens trial, Odysseus had really matured to appreciate his company s presence and understand the importance of taking help from others. This development in maturity symbolizes his progress in the hero s journey: he crossed the threshold as an amateur hero and returned to Ithaca as a newly transformed ... • 7. Home Vs. Concrete Wall Home In truth, a concrete wall house is substantially warmer than stick built construction. Advanced technology ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) homes are actually much warmer than traditional stud wall construction, as well as being far more energy efficient. Here are the facts. Thermographic tests done by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center showed that a solid ICF wall (a wall without windows or other penetrations) has fewer cold spots than a wood framed wall. This is because the thermal envelope the shield between outside and inside temperatures is much more difficult to seal in conventional stud wall construction, so that cold easily travels through thermal bridging to create uncomfortable cold spots inside the house. ICF walls, by contrast, are tightly sealed so that thermal bridging is reduced, which makes for even temperatures and fewer cold spots and drafts. Moreover, houses with ICF wall construction result in a 50% decrease in the capacity of HVAC equipment as compared to wood framed wall construction (which of course implies greatly reduced heating and cooling costs). How does ICF construction accomplish this? Concrete form insulation is constructed of blocks of parallel slabs of expanded polystyrene foam. In the story, Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the author takes us through a day in the life of a husband who is forced by his wife to meet and entertain her longtime friend Robert who happens to be blind. The husband is not exactly excited by this visit. The author illustrates the characters development beginning as apprehensive and jealous, transitioning to more of an uncomfortable feeling, and finally ending with acceptance as the husband is put into a situation where he gains a new understanding of the blind man. He ends the story with his eyes closed and a mind open to a new view of the world. As the story begins, the author seems to portray the main character as apprehensive and jealous. As he narrates the story, the husband opens with a blunt statement, his being blind bothered me. (34) It immediately gives the reader the impression that he was very upset about the situation he was put in. The husband seems more concerned with the fact that the man is blind and states later that his idea of blindness came from movies. My Autoethnography Of Selfie Autoethnography Essay Ysabel Anne Aluquin (z5146099) According to the Oxford Dictionary, selfie can be defined as a photograph that one has taken of oneself (selfie, 2017). However, according to Rettberg, selfies are so much more than just a photograph on the Internet, they are a form of digital self representation (Rettberg, 2014). I still remember the very first selfie I took, with the back camera of an old Nokia phone. This was before the invention of the front facing camera and in comparison, I must say that my selfie skills have most definitely improved. Just like with age, my selfies have evolved over time and in this autoethnography, I will be looking at three different selfies from three different points in my life and examining how they represented me in those different moments. This essay will touch mainly on how my selfies represent my gender and sexuality and how over time I had learned to embrace both aspects of myself. I will start off by presenting a selfie from 2012, which was taken during one of my more awkward stages in life when I was studying in an all girls Catholic high school. This first selfie was my Facebook profile picture for a while. At this time, I was halfway through high school and was slowly, but steadily, coming out of a very awkward stage. • 28. Critique Of An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Critique of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge Summary of Major Ideas In An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, Ambrose Bierce tells the story of Peyton Farquhar, a man who is about to be hanged for aiding the Confederacy during the Civil War. In the moments before his hanging, he reminisces about scheming to set a bridge on fire in order to prohibit the advancement of Union soldiers, which is why he is being hanged. Peyton then begins plotting his escape and the reader is tricked into thinking he escapes his execution and makes it safely to his house, when in reality he is actually hanged. Critical Evaluation First, Bierce effectively portrays imagery through his thorough description of the setting at Owl Creek Bridge. He starts by describing a man standing on a railroad bridge, gazing into the water several feet below with his hands tied and a rope around his neck. This really gives the reader the view and the physical feeling from the man s perspective. Bierce also explains the various positions of the soldiers on the bridge and how their stances would have looked. For example he writes, A sentinel at each end of the bridge stood with his rifle in the position known as support, that is to say, vertical in front of the left shoulder, the hammer resting on the forearm thrown straight across the chest a formal and unnatural position, enforcing an erect carriage of the body (Bierce, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, 183). As a soldier in the Union Army, Bierce could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Geographic Differences Between Canada And The United States Although they bear some superficial similarities, the differences between America and Canada are striking. There are many differences between Canada and the United States such as ethnicity, geography, population, politics, and many more. Of all the differences the focus of this paper will be geography. Geographical differences can be seen through the land of the United States and Canada. The geographical land known as the United States was not formed in a day. It took many years to formulate into what is seen today. For example, the Appalachian Mountains were formed when two plates collided together causing a buckling in the Earth s crust. They now form a boundary of the east coast to the remainder of the country. On the west coast, one can find the Rockies which were formed by the westward shift of the North American tectonic plate and its collision with the Pacific tectonic plate causing folding forces. The Rockies actually connect the United States to Canada. Another example of the different geographical aspects of Canada and the United States is the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was created over many years by erosion from the Colorado River. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 30. A Study On Code Blue Code Blue It was February 16, 2016; when I woke up that morning to get ready for school, I had no idea that this day would end up changing my life. My senior year of high school, I was accepted into a clinical internship class, and today was my first day at a clinical site. For my first clinical rotation I was assigned to the Emergency Room. I left school at 1:05 to go to my clinical site; it was cold outside and the wind was subtlety blowing. I arrived at the Baptist Memorial Hospital at 1:18. As I went to sign in at the health records department, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. I was filled with nerves and a million thoughts going through my mind. All I could think about was how ready I was for my time in the Emergency Department to be over so that I could go to another rotation site. When I finished signing in and getting my picture taken for my Baptist Memorial Hospital I.D., I walked down the hall to the Emergency Department. As I walked up to the desk, I could see that there were very few patients in the waiting area; it looked like it would be a slow and easy day. I walked up to the desk and told the women my name and my purpose for being there; she pushed the button on the side of the wall to open the doors to let me in. As I walked into the Emergency Department, I was hit with the smell of germ x and blood combined. Surrounding me were nurses dressed in blue scrubs. I went into the break room and placed my folder and jacket on the table. I went and sat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The AICPA is integral to rule making and standard setting in the CPA profession, as well as serves as an advocate before legislative bodies and public interests groups( American Institute of Certified Public Accountants , 2010). In 1934 the New York stock exchange and the AICPA jointly published the Audits of Corporate Accounts of 1934, but a few short years later in 1938, the SEC voted to forgo this prerogative and allow the private sector to regulate its accounting practice a policy that the commission has maintained to date. The AICPA s Committee on Accounting Procedure (CAP) assumed the financial accounting standard setting role in 1939. The AICPA shifted this responsibility to its Accounting Principles Board (APB), equipped with its own research staff, in 1959. Fast forward to 1970, where the APB s main contribution Basic Concepts and Accounting Principles Underlying Financial Statement of Business Enterprises was highly critized for achieving too little too late. THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS Nowadays psychological operations are becoming an effective tool in both foreign and domestic policy. They are widely used in the sphere of international relations to ensure the voluntary submission of opponents, to promote the activities of supporters, and to maintain a high level of motivation among allies. One of the most important elements of these actions is the informational and psychological impact on public consciousness. During the Gulf War PSYOPS effectively used to influence on public consciousness of international community and local populations. Before entering the war against Iraq in 1990, for multinational forces was necessary to explain the causes of the war to the international community. Multinational forces had to clarify to the world all reasons like: the restoration of Kuwait s lost independence (in August 1990, Iraqi troops occupied Kuwait); Protection of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman against possible aggression by Iraq; Protection of the freedom of global navigation in the Persian Gulf; Protection of the trampled rights of Kurds and Shiites in Iraq. (15 Marks) Sustainable Tourism is essentially an industry committed to making a low impact on the natural environment and local culture, while helping to generate income and employment for local people. As Global economists forecast continuing international tourism growth, this continuous growth will place great stress on remaining biologically diverse habitats and indigenous cultures, which are often used to support mass tourism. Therefore it is important that sustainable tourism is promoted and that people are educated about the opportunities provided in order to minimize the effects that tourism poses on the natural environment while helping to benefit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, both LEDC s and MEDC s are becoming to reliant on mass tourism and are not taking into the account the impacts in the long term for example 85% of Majorca s income is through tourism which means there is a lack of economic independence because if the island were to suddenly become unfashionable then the Island would be left in a vulnerable income. This is especially the case here as tourism has destroyed farming and agricultural labour which used to be the main source of income which means Majorca has no other form of income to fall back on if tourism was to decrease in the area. Moreover, one of the main issues that sustainable tourism tries to embrace is having a low impact on tourism but many countries who undertake in mass tourism have failed to properly take this into account. For example, tourism around the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the largest commercial activity there and accounts for 87% of the reefs economic output. However, this tourism has created pollution through waste disposal, pollution from boats etc. This easily damages the Coral reef which thus affects the species dependent on them. In addition, tourists disturb the wildlife as many seabirds nest on the ground and when disturbed leave the nest which thus exposes young or eggs to predators and developments for tourism damage coastal ecosystems such as the mangrove forests and estuaries ... • 35. The Effects Of Elevated Carbon Dioxide ( Co2 ) Essay 2. Impact of Elevated Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a trace gas accounting for about 0.039 per cent or 390 ppm currently. CO2 concentration increases by 1 to 3 ppm every year primarily because of burning of fossil fuels. In future, by 2100 the atmospheric CO2 concentration should reach 600 to 750 ppm. Plants are directly influenced by increase in CO2 concentration; and increase in CO2 affects many physiological processes like photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, reproductive processes, and yield. CO2 diffuses from the atmosphere into leaves, via., stomata into mesophyll cells, intercellular spaces, cells, and finally reach chloroplast for photosynthetic process. Increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere will enhance the photosynthesis and dry matter production. The response to CO2 varies among species mainly by the enzyme RuBisCo (RuBP). C3 plants readily react by increasing the activity of RuBP carboxylase and by reducing the activity of RuBP oxygenase. Increase in photosynthesis by 25% 75% was observed over doubling of atmospheric CO2. C4 plants show little response to elevated CO2. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) plants also showed an increase in photosynthetic rate. The increasing concentration of CO2 by burning of fossil fuels can be reduced by improving the carbon fixation in the plants. Short term exposure of CO2 on plants shows increased photosynthesis, whereas long term exposure shows variation in photosynthesis and also plant growth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Celtic Christianity and The Secret Rose Essays Celtic Christianity and The Secret Rose In William Butler Yeats The Secret Rose, the author develops his theme through choice of diction, imagery, symbolism, and scansion. Yeats Irish background is an influential factor in terms of the tone with which he addresses religious beliefs, and an acceptable interpretation of The Secret Rose depends on one s knowledge of Celtic history and tradition. Throughout his poem, Yeats uses a great deal of symbolism in describing the well known events that surround the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yeats style is quite prayerful his voice at first resembles an aged person who is seeking comfort as he reaches his final days on Earth. At the end of the poem, Yeats voice has become one of assurance and anticipation. This change in voice is quite effective in developing the idea that living is a circular event, and death is certainly not a final destination. Furthermore, this belief is consistent with the Celtic conviction that death must come before birth in the circle of life because there must be room for new growth before it can occur. The meter and rhyme scheme of Yeats poem are similarly structured to coincide with the belief that life is an unending cycle. The poem is written in iambic pentameter, in pairs of rhyming couplets, and the first rhyming couplet rhymes with the final couplet as well. In returning to the original rhyme, Yeats reinforces the belief that life will continue in a non terminal circle. The theme of Yeats poem deals with the anticipation of the Second Coming of Christ, a very Christian viewpoint. Many argue that free trade will be beneficial for the economy, but exactly who is benefiting? America won t benefit from this deal unless its export is greater than its import. Reports from 2014 show that the U.S. imported $2.34 trillion in goods compared to exporting $1.62 trillion (Nash Hoff, 2015). This imbalance created a huge deficit over $720 billion, which is not even close to being beneficial for the economy or the nation as a whole. Cryptography uses the encryption algorithm and a key to send confidential data through an insecure channel[26] There are mainly two types of encryption algorithms, private key (also called symmetric key) and public key. Private key algorithms involve only one key, both for encryption and decryption whereas, public key algorithms involve two keys, one for encryption and other for decryption [29]. Some of the most common reasons children drop out of youth sports can range from something as simple as not having fun anymore to something as complex to feeling as if the parent/coach is being unfair to them, like constantly getting judged after every game. Parents can avoid this all by supporting, not over bearing, Nays, and making sure the child is having fun and happy. The overall outcome of youth sports should be for the child to find something they enjoy and to have fun doing it. Most kids when they are young try various sports and activities to see what they enjoy and parents comments or overbearing should not be the reason why the child decides to not give the sport a shot or finish out the season. Which is why parents involvement in youth sports is vital to a child s development and behavior. One reason why parents are a vital part about Youth Sports is for there support. Most youth athletic programs depend on parent volunteers to keep the program running.
