The projects covered a wide range of tasks including engineering studies, design work, construction support, and technical evaluations. Coal to Gas Conversion Project
Project involved conversion of Unit 7&8 boilers from pulverized coal to natural gas.
4. 2014. Part of the bid team that was responsible for winning this project. Traveled to the Owner’s
office and presented the mechanical scope or work and discussed our Company’s capabilities.
5. 2014. Responsible for coordinating multidiscipline preparation and review of the new
combustion equipment specification. Evaluated bids and provided a technical scoring for each
bidder.
6. 2015. Lead mechanical responsible for preparing or coordinating the design of the natural gas
system including P&IDs, demolition, isometric, and control valve sizing. Prepared numerous
studies including a hazardous area evaluation, fire plan, furnace implosion and fan study,
furnace corrosion, and a pulverized coal system layup study. Travelled to the site numerous
times to meet with the Owner, and walkdown the plant to complete the design and identify
interferences. Prepared an installation specification for the mechanical scope of the combustion
equipment and natural gas system. Presented the scope of work to all potential bidders on
behalf of the owner during a kickoff meeting. Evaluated bids and provided a technical
recommendation to the owner.
7. 2015-2016. Lead mechanical responsible for coordinating multidiscipline review of vendor
submittals and transmittal of comments. Provided owner’s engineering support for duration of
project including answering all RFIs during installation.
8. 2014-2016. Responsible for running weekly project team meetings with the owner and vendors.
Prepared and issued meeting agendas prior to each meeting. Responsible for tracking open
action items and ensuring they were resolved in a timely manner. Provided schedule updates
and tracking of manhour charges, which were used to prepare monthly project progress reports
and issued to the owner.
Turbine Controls and Steam Seal Upgrade Project
Project involved converting the Unit 7&8 turbine controls from mechanical hydraulics to electrical hydraulics
and replacement of the original Unit 8 steam seal regulator.
9. 2014. Prepared the mechanical portion of the multidiscipline equipment specification. Evaluated
bids and provided a technical recommendation to the owner.
10. 2014-2015. Responsible for preparing or coordinating the design drawings for the steam seal
work including new P&IDs, demolition, isometric, and support drawings. Travelled to the site
numerous times to meet with the Owner, and walkdown the plant to complete the design and
identify interferences. Prepared an installation specification for the mechanical scope of the
steam seal and turbine controls. Presented the scope of work to all potential bidders on behalf
of the owner during a kickoff meeting. Evaluated bids and provided a technical recommendation

installation specification of the new building structure. Responsible for coordinating
multidiscipline preparation and review of specification. Presented the scope of work to all

Project involved the installation of a dry sorbent injection system to control HCl emissions on Unit 1.

21. 2013-2014. Lead mechanical responsible for coordinating multidiscipline review of vendor
submittals and transmittal of comments. Provided owner’s engineering support for duration of

Tripper Room Project
22. 2013-2014. Prepared a preliminary engineering study of the tripper room dust collection and
provided recommendations for improvements. Responsible for interviewing plant personnel,
corresponding with equipment vendors, reviewing original design documents, and obtaining
operating data.
Bottom Ash Project
Project involved modifications to the existing bottom ash recirculation system including pump replacement,
piping modification, and controls upgrades.
23. 2014. Prepared a preliminary engineering study of the Unit 2 systems and provided
recommendations for improvements. Responsible for interviewing plant personnel,
corresponding with equipment vendors, reviewing original design documents, and obtaining

Project involved a modification to the existing air cooled condenser tube cleaning system.

Tripper Room Project
Project involved evaluating existing Unit 1&2 vacuum cleaning system, installing a heating system,
providing water to the new dust collectors all located in the tripper room, and evaluating issues with existing
dust collection system.
33. 2010. Lead mechanical responsible for detailed engineering and design to supply water to the
new dust collectors. Prepared pump sizing calculations, equipment/ valve/instrument selections,
and coordination with equipment manufacturer.
34. 2012. Lead engineer coordinating the sizing and specification of unit heaters to provide heat to
the tripper room. Also coordinated the preparation of an installation specification and review of
vendor submittals.
35. 2012. Evaluated existing tripper room vacuum system and provided recommendations for
modifications including a list of suggested components.
Primary Air Fan Noise Project
Project involved an evaluation of high noise levels generated by the Unit 2 primary air fan.
36. 2010. Prepared a preliminary engineering study of Unit and provided recommendations for
improvements. Responsible for interviewing plant personnel, corresponding with equipment
vendors, reviewing original design documents, and obtaining operating data.
Cooling Tower Replacement Project
Project involved replacement of the Unit 1 cooling tower.
37. 2010. Prepared a preliminary engineering study evaluating different cooling tower options
including tower type, cost, location, fill type, material, and orientation.

6. 38. 2010-2011. Prepared equipment and installation specifications based on the recommendations
in the previous study. Evaluated bids for supply and installation of equipment.
39. 2012. Witnessed performance test of Unit 1 cooling tower.
Bottom Ash Project
Project involved modifications to the existing bottom ash recirculation system including pump replacement,
piping modification, and controls upgrades.
40. 2011-2012. Lead mechanical responsible for detailed engineering and design to implement the
recommendations in the previous study for Unit 1. Prepared pump sizing calculations,
equipment specifications, valve/instrument selections, and coordination with original system
designer (UCC).

the modification scope of work. Evaluated bids and provided a technical recommendation to the
owner.
Synchronous Condenser Project
Project involved retiring an existing coal fired unit and converting the generator to a synchronous
condenser.
42. 2011-2012. Lead mechanical engineer responsible for modifications to the lube oil and cooling
systems.
• Crawford Power Station – Coal Fired Boilers

Project involved an evaluation of the requirements and costs to repower the Unit 7 steam turbine generator
with a 2x2x1 combined-cycle power block, consisting of two F-class combustion turbine/HRSG trains.

recommendations including estimated costs and schedule. Responsible for coordinating
multidiscipline review of existing plant systems and obtaining input for consolidation into a final
report. Lead mechanical engineer responsible for evaluating all existing plant systems including
condensate, circ water, compressed air, etc. for reuse with the combined cycle plant.
Determined natural gas supply conditions from pipeline company and sized major pieces of new

Project involved preparing a study for the installation of an SCR on Units 1 and 2 and WFGD on Unit 1.
The evaluation of best available technologies, preliminary sizing, layout, and total project costs were
included in the study.

(electrical, structural, environmental, design, cost estimating) in providing input to the study.

preliminary sizing, layout, and total project costs were included in the study.

Demineralized Water Makeup Project
Project involved installation of a permanent onsite water treatment system to produce demineralized water
makeup.

specification of water treatment system equipment. Reviewed vendor drawing submittals and
worked with vendors to incorporate drawing comments.

9. Repowering Project
Project involved conversion of existing coal fired plant to a combined cycle plant with two new HRSGs and
CTs.
51. 2006-2009. Prepared system descriptions, equipment specifications, system calculations, bid
evaluations, and system P&IDs. Responsible engineer for the design of the fire protection,
condensate, circulating water intake, and control valves. Reviewed vendor drawing submittals
and worked with vendors to incorporate drawing comments.
52. 2008. Spent seven months at the site as an engineering field liaison between the site and S&L.
Responsible for resolution of construction and start-up questions. Performed field verification
walkdowns of S&L design drawings and came up with alternate designs where necessary.

Project involved design of an SCR and boiler conversion to balanced draft on Units 1-3.
53. 2006. Responsible for Units 1 and 2 preliminary ID and FD fan sizing and fan study to evaluate
replacement or retrofit options including existing fan/motor modifications, fan/motor
replacement, and control technologies. Performed final fan sizing calculations for Units 1 and 2,
designed turning vanes in new ductwork, and evaluated performance of Unit 3 booster fans.

54. 2005. Prepared design criteria and P&IDs for all major systems. Preformed preliminary system

• Bruce Mansfield Power Station – Coal Fired Boilers

FOG Project
Project involved design of a forced oxidation gypsum (FOG) system to treat the plant’s FGD waste to
produce sellable gypsum.
55. 2004-2005. Responsible for preparation of system P&IDs. Prepared equipment data sheets for
BOP equipment including pumps, expansion joints, eyewash stations, hoists. Performed
equipment bid evaluations and prepared letters of recommendation.
