The Term Organizational Culture Essay
Introduction
A look at simply a couple of works that utilization the term organizational culture will uncover huge
variety in the meaning of this term and much all the more in the utilization of the term society has no
altered or extensively importance even in human sciences, however variety in its utilization is
particularly discernible in the writing on hierarchical society. This is mostly identified with solid
contrast in the reason and profundity of books and articles. Be that as it may, likewise the wide variety
of logical teaches and exploration introduction included in organizational culture studies makes the
field extremely heterogeneous. The idea of society appears to fit altogether different uses as
aggregately imparted manifestations of, for instance, thoughts and insight, as images and meanings, as
qualities and belief systems, as guidelines and standards, as feelings and expressiveness, as the
aggregate unconscious, as conduct examples, structures and practices, and so forth, all of which may
be made focuses of study. Obviously, culture is not special thusly. Really, most if not all noteworthy

The Wright Brothers -inventing The First Plane
The Wright Brothers Inventing the First Plane Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867 in Millville,
Indiana and Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871 in Dayton, Ohio to Milton Wright and Susan
Catherine Koerner. They had two older brothers, Reuchlin and Lorin, and a younger sister Katharine
who happened to share a birthday with Wilbur. Their father was a minister, in the Church of the
United Brethren in Christ, and spent a lot of time traveling for the church. During one of his trips their
father found a small rubber band powered toy helicopter made of paper, bamboo, and cork. It was
modeled after the work of Alphonse Pe`naud; a French aeronautical pioneer. This was the beginning of
their fascination with aeronautics. In 1878, Milton became a Bishop in the church and moved the
family to Iowa. Neither of the Wright brothers received a high school diploma. Wilbur had enough
credits to graduate, but the family moved back to Dayton, Ohio during his senior year. Orville dropped
out in the eleventh grade, and went on to design and build his own printing press made from a broken
tombstone and buggy parts. With Wilbur as the editor, the two brothers started their own weekly paper
called West Side News. In 1892, they opened a bicycle rental and repair shop. They also, began
manufacturing their own brand of bicycles, Van Cleves and St. Clairs, in 1896 in a room above their
printing shop. Orville also invented a self oiling wheel hub. This business would provide

The Legacy Of John F. Kennedy
In Houston, Texas, America s thirty fifth and first Catholic president of the United States died from
two bullet shots to his skull, on November 22, 1963. John Fitzgerald Kennedy had not even served a
full term of presidency when the assassination took place, and was in the middle of campaigning for a
second term. Near the beginning of JFK s presidency, back in 1961, he saw greatness in the new
generation, as they were the key to improving America. Kennedy wanted to create peace, discover
new sciences, and end the ongoing feud with the Soviet Union. Once the president famously stated,

Since the Soviet Union held nuclear weapons with Cuba, this posed a threat to the United States
because the country was only 90 miles away. The actions the President had taken for the two global
situations allowed the country to judge and watch Kennedy s every move. Kennedy was popular with
many citizens in the U.S., but he posed as a threat to some.
Lee Harvey Oswald, the man to take responsibility for Kennedy s death, was a former Marine in the
United States, but left after two court maintained reports of violence and withholding illegal firearms.
He later moved to Russia so he could take part in the Soviet Union s actions. Under strict supervision,
the government of Russia finally allowed him to live in the city of Minsk. In 1962, he returned to the
United States with his new wife Marina Prusakova and got a job working at the Texas School Book
Depository in Dallas, the building where Oswald will shoot three bullets from his rifle. Oswald was a
narcissistic man who believed he would be the one to change the United States for the better. Lee
Harvey Oswald s interest in the idea of communism continued to grow stronger, directing his feelings
towards Cuba for support. Oswald s stand communism will be one of his main vendettas towards the
president of the United States.

The Importance of Iterative Process Groups
Project management involves five groups of processes: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring
and Controlling, and Closing. The process groups are important to a project s flow throughout its
lifecycle. The processes within the groups include the tools and/or techniques involved in applying the
skills and capabilities described in the PMBOK s Knowledge Area (Project Management Institute,
2013). This paper will discuss the importance of the iterative process of these groups by
demonstrating the need for integration and how failing to iterate the processes can affect healthcare
improvement. The paper will further ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Project Managers (PMs) incorporated the doctors advice into the WTIS project plans while
setting predetermined deadlines for implementation to provide a good balance between consultation
and the planning group processes. The project team took the advice and created assessment tools that
required medical staff s judgment in the important decision for each patient (Healthcare Project
Management, 2013). The processes arrived at desired result by repeating rounds of analysis or cycles
of medical operations. The objective was to bring the desired decision closer to discovery with
iteration. The iterative process can be used where the decision is not easily revocable or where the
consequences of revocation could be costly (Business Dictionary, n.d). To maintain equilibrium in
areas of appropriateness, point of care decision support, and capacity, processes were improved after
each cycle of testing which optimized procedures ordering process.
PMs integrated the project management processes groups to successfully manage the WITS project
because healthcare projects are a part of a larger organizational environment, and many factors that
might affect the project are out of the project manager s control. One cannot simply shorten patients
wait time because it does not ensure an improvement in clinical performance. Wait time has to

Loss Of Innocence In Tears By Harper Lee
Loss of innocence can be a sad and depressing moment for children and their family. Nowadays, drugs
and pregnancy are often a big sign of loss of innocence in a person, and can cause a person to live a
negative life. However, others react differently to their loss of innocence, and with the right support
someday they can be an influence in the world. The poem, Tears by Jason Yu investigates the theme of
loss of innocence through multiple symbols and similes. The image of the two leaves is also a great
example of loss of innocence, but the imagery and characterization used by Harper Lee that shows
Jem and Dill s loss of innocence is the most influential symbol in this theme. In particular, Jason Yu
and Harper Lee both use the same imagery and symbolization to describe the loss of innocence in a
child. Both authors use the idea of crying as a symbol of loss of innocence. After the main character
witnesses all the horrifying discrimination acts, Yu simply states, She cries (Yu 2014). From this
quote, we can conclude that by the end of her journey she understood that segregation was immoral.
As she realized the darker world around her it caused her mass amounts of internal pain, causing her
to cry. Yu said that she cries at the end of his poem to symbolize the girl s loss of innocence after her

The disability rights movement was credited to all the people who have worked for years organizing
and attending protests, licking envelopes, sending out alerts, drafting legislation, speaking, testifying,
negotiating, lobbying, filing lawsuits, getting arrested they believed in doing whatever they could for a
cause . In 1973, there was a shift in the disability, public policy (Section 504 of the 1973

against individuals with disabilities. Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II),
which extends this prohibition against discrimination to the full range of state and local government
services, programs, and activities (including public schools) regardless of whether they receive any

The Miners Strike 1984 Essay
Throughout the century British coal had become increasingly costly and difficult to mine.
Nationalization in 1948 had not altered this. Indeed, there was a case for saying that lack of
government investment since that date had added to the problem. For some time Britain had been
importing coal from abroad. With the exception of few pits producing particular types of coal, British
mines by the 1970s were running at loss. When Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister the first
thing she wanted to do was limit union power. She felt that union power applied to nationalized
industrial monopolies resulted in poor service at exorbitant cost to the taxpayers. She pointed to
inefficient work practices, over employment and restrictive employment ... Show more content on

Thatcher reduced trade union power. She was helped also by rapidly rising unemployment which
acted as a major disincentive to many going on strike or pressing to hard for higher wages. The trigger
for Britain s most bitter industrial dispute of recent times was the announcement that one Yorkshire
pit, Cortonwood near Barnsley, was to close, all over Yorkshire walked out, not realising that it would
be a year before they returned. Whereas previous coal strikes had been over in a matter of weeks, this
time both union and government dug in for a lengthy battle. In the end, the biggest losers were
ordinary miners. However there was a strong counter argument advanced by the miners union and the
other analysts. They suggested that with a proper investment programme backed by a genuine
government commitment to coal as a long term power source, large parts of the British coal industry
still had a profitable future. The social consequences of widespread pit closures would be catastrophic.
The impact of the strike was much wider than just in the mining industry and the regions: the scenes
of violence between strikes and police regularly seen on television shocked the nation and divided
public opinion. Polls suggested that 65% of the people supported the government and the police 35%
of the miners. social commentators suggested that the violent clashes that frequently accompanied the
strike stimulated a general strike

determining the operational life expectancy of the IT items. By looking at the direct and indirect costs
of each IT hardware and software item, along with the benefits that are related to it, management used

figure the most cost effective way to handle maintenance and replacement of all it components and in

In my opinion, Troon s IT expenses were spiraling out of control when they did not take the

Mission Values And Values Of American Red Cross
American Red Cross: Mission, Vision, and Values The American Red Cross is a non profit

organization. The American Red Cross vision statement serves its purpose as it stats where the
organization is headed in the future. The vision statement is well written, however a time limit should

organization a goal, which is to accomplish this vision in the specified time; this will also meet the
criteria of including a time frame. Simply put, the mission is the existence of the organization, the
vision is where they want to go, and the values or principle is the means to get

am currently taking the class after my high school classes and I would like to keep working in this
area because so far I really enjoy the class and I love the hands on work we do with the machines and
computers. In Mena the are lots of jobs in this field and I would still like to live here. My Education
goal is to go UARM and take classes because it s the most bang for your buck and I live in Mena so I
am so close. With it being a smaller school you have a better student to teacher ratio so there are
smaller classes so a student can find it easier to get help when needed. So it s the most logical solution

Irrationality And Rationality
Explore how Arthur Miller portrays the conflict between emotionality and rationality through Eddie s
struggle between right and wrong in A View from the Bridge
A View from the Bridge is the story of a man, Eddie Carbone, who falls in love with his niece. He has
a hard choice to make between possible happiness through this forbidden, unrequited love and
propriety with his wife. As a retelling, this play s plot is not what makes it so notoriously well praised.
Rather, it is the depth Arthur Miller brings to the protagonist s character through his struggle between
his emotions and his logic. This is an analysis of how the playwright achieved this complex portrayal.
Miller starts by introducing Normal Eddie, a version of the protagonist not ... Show more content on

In denying his emotionality, an essential part of himself, he is driven to irrationality. A clear example
of this self suppression is seen towards the end of the text, wherein his wife, Beatrice, tells Eddie that
the truth is not as bad as blood [...] Eddie, crying out in agony: That s what you think of me that I
would have such a thought? His fists clench his head as though it will burst. In this situation, Beatrice
is trying to convince Eddie not to fight one of the illegal immigrants having denounced him for calling
the Immigration Bureau. The truth is an allusion to the root of this tumultuous situation his feelings
for his niece. The atmosphere is foreboding, punctuated by the metonymy of blood for argument or
fight . This line is dark, pessimistically foreshadowing the calamitous end to the play. The
ameliorative comparison between this blood and Eddie s truth is meant as assurance that his love,
whilst incestuous, is not nearly as horrendous as it could be, and as he believes it to be. However, this
only agitates Eddie more, heightening the perilous atmosphere of the scene. This is seen through the
stage direction crying out in agony . The word agony is peculiar, as the expected emotion here would
be anger, for the protagonist had been ready to fight moments ago. This is shocking to the reader,
since this is the first real confirmation of Eddie s absolute erraticism. Moreover, this struggle is
emphasised by the word crying , as it shows his anguish is heightened to the point of screaming. And
yet, his rhetorical question reveals only disgust at Beatrice s perceptions. This provides an ironic,
queerly comical contrast. This contrast is akin to gallows humour, in that it makes light of a depressing
scene Eddie is so entrenched in his desperate need to regain rationality after his crucial betrayal that he
still clings to his lies. Hyperbolically, he denies even having had

Killing Lincoln Is Acclaimed As `` Shocking, And A...
Essay
Killing Lincoln is acclaimed as shocking and a historical thriller. It makes the reader question, Is it
really true? with every turning page. Bill O Reilly claims that everything mentioned is true and
unsanitized, so a whole new story is opened to the audience, such as Booth being funded by the
Confederate states and the Booth family being closely related to the Lincoln family. However, if
everything is true, the question still remains: What is the most significant truth?
Many people may refer to the cold hard facts about Lincoln s assassination as the most significant
because it is something they were never aware of. One may say, I never knew General Lee and
General Grant met before the Civil War! Another might state, I didn t know Robert Todd Lincoln and
John Wilkes Booth loved the same girl! However, personally, I believe that the most important truth is
something far broader than specific facts. The truth: good will triumph over evil.
Killing Lincoln is the story of how Booth killed Lincoln. It is an eerie story, but what makes it even
more chilling is the similarities it has to other historical murders. It is one of the many tales of good vs

The Dichotomy Between Aristophanes And Plato s Depictions
Socrates:
The Dichotomy between Aristophanes and Plato s Depictions
Ignorance: the condition of being uninformed or uneducated; this basic definition is crucial to
understanding one of the most controversial figures in ancient Athenian society: the philosopher
Socrates. The man s entire life was devoted to proving the fact that no one actually knew what they
thought they did; that everyone lived in ignorance. This viewpoint earned Socrates many enemies, so
many that even a renowned playwright, Aristophanes, decided to exploit the situation. He wrote his
critiquing play of Socrates called The Clouds; a scathing criticism that the philosopher would partially
attribute to his future indictment on charges of impiety and corrupting the ... Show more content on

The philosopher goes on to teach Strepsiades everything about the existence of Vortex, the god that
overthrew Zeus and also of the Clouds, the true arbiters of worldly learning (Clouds 250 829).
Inspired by Socrates s teachings, Strepsiades goes back home and brings his son to the Thinkery in
order to have him learn the ways of the Clouds. In turn, Pheidippides embraces the teachings of
Socrates even more so than his father, becoming completely inundated in the philosopher s teachings.
He begins to beat his father, because according to Socrates s teachings, it is a just thing to do (1322
1333). However, during the time in Ancient Greece, such an act was forbidden by law. Pheidippides
attempts to justify this to his father in the following passage: PHEID: ...I will first ask you this: did
you beat me when I was a boy? STREP: Yes, I did; I was well intentioned and concerned for you.
PHEID: Then tell me, isn t it also just for me likewise to be well intentioned toward you and beat you?
For why should your body be unchastised by blows, but not mine? And in fact I too was born free...
STREP: But nowhere is it the law that the father suffer this. PHEID: Wasn t he who set down this law
a man like you and me, and didn t he persuade those of long ago by speaking? Is it any less allowable
for me too, then, to set down in turn for the future a novel law for sons to beat their fathers in return?
As for the blows that we

Literary Criticism Of Rip Van Winkle
Rip was ready to attend to anybody s business but his own: but as to doing family duty, and keeping
his farm in order, he found it impossible, (Irving 10). Washington Irving is a romantic American writer
in the 1800s with works including Rip Van Winkle as a part of the collection of essays and short
stories called The Sketchbook. Rip Van Winkle is set in a village near the Kaatskill Mountains during
the American Revolution and tells the story of a man who is loved by many in the town but spends his
days in idleness. His wife often nags him because Van Winkle does not work for anything in his
family. One day, to escape his wife s nagging, Van Winkle walks off into the mountains with his dog,
Wolfe. He stumbles upon a group of strange ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although he could be doing so many different things, he chooses to spend his days gossiping and
talking about nothing. He wastes his life away instead of doing things valuable to him. Furthermore,
Van Winkle lives his life with the smallest amount of trouble possible. Rip Van Winkle, however, was
one of those happy mortals, of foolish, well oiled dispositions, who take the world easy, eat white
bread or brown, whichever can be got with least thought or trouble, and would rather starve on a
penny than work for a pound (Irving 10). Van Winkle does not work for what he wants and lives his
life with the bare minimum because he s lazy. Irving presents Van Winkle as lazy. Besides being lazy,
Van Winkle is also characterized as irresponsible. Irresponsibility is Van Winkle s attitude towards life
and his family. His neglectfulness towards his own family and children is the exact opposite from Van
Winkle s helpfulness to the villagers. For instance, Van Winkle was well liked by the children in the
village because he plays with them and care for them. However, when it comes to his own children, he
neglects them causing them to be as ragged and wild as if they belonged to nobody (Irving 10). Van
Winkle does little things for the children in town but leaves his own kids by themselves. He never
cares for them and lets them go wild while he plays with the children in the town. In

The World On The Terrorism
When looking at the terrorism that ISIS has endued it has become very evident that a solution needs to
be drawn into action. In my opinion the only way to take down this organization is to begin to treat it
like the state that it is. A state is defined as: a nation or territory considered as an organized political
community under one government. ISIS has not only gained territory in Syria, Iraq and Istanbul but
according to New York Times columnist, Tim Arango, ISIS is building a capacity to govern. In 2014,
ISIS formally informed the world on their establishment of a caliphate. This caliphate is governed
under Islamic beliefs and rulers. They have begun issuing identification cards for residents,
promulgating fishing guidelines to preserve stocks, and requiring that cars carry tool kits for
emergencies (Arango). Believe it or not, ISIS has been a state for two years, regardless of their lack of
legitimacy, their consistent threat of violence against any of those who oppose their beliefs allows
them not only to get things done, but get them done efficiently. Whether we want to accept it, ISIS is a
state, and we need to treat it as such.
On the 29th of June in 2014, ISIS announced that a caliphate has been establish and the caliph was to
be Caliph Ibrahim. The saying goes, In order to kill a snake, one must cut off its head. The head of
ISIS is the caliphate in Iraq/Syria. I believe that collapsing the caliphate will collapse the organization.

Neuromuscular Facilitation Vs. Taping
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation VS. Kinesio Taping Phillip Jean Juste and Hakeem
Johnson Kinesiology OTA 103 Lainisha McMiller Turner July 9, 2015 Occupational Therapy is a
growing field; one that is constantly changing as technology becomes more advanced. There are
different techniques and methods used in this field, as well as the field of physical therapy, in order
assist in client advancement and growth. The traditional method being discussed is Proprioceptive
Neuromuscular Facilitation also known as PNF and the contemporary technique is Kinesio Taping.
These techniques and methods came about for the same purpose, and that is to ultimately help both the
Practitioners and of course clients they work with. The background of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular
Facilitation (PNF) is traced back to the late 1940s/early 1950s with Herman Kabat (MD), Margaret
Knott (PT), and Dorothy Voss (PT) being the developers of this method. PNF was developed to treat
neurological dysfunctions (such as multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy) . This was an attempt to gain
better control in a population of neurologically impaired instead of just offering the standard treatment
at the time which was range of motion exercising and gate belt training (Knott and Voss, 1968). Even
though PNF was developed for neurological dysfunctions overtime it also became principle used in
others areas of life such as with athletes and personal/physical trainers. The common misconception

Best Man Wedding Toast Essay
Best Man Wedding Speech
Its turning out to be a day packed full new experiences for me. It s the first time I ve had the honour of
being a best man, It s the first time that Brandon has complimented me in over 30 years, and it s the
first time I ve got a free dinner out of him since that kebab he bought me back in 93. So far things
have been going pretty well...until now. Start the car Steve.
Ladies, Gentlemen, boys, girls Brandon and Lisa,
First of all, let me begin on behalf of the bridesmaids, Michelle, Ellie, Hannah and Emily, I would like
to thank Brandon for his kind words, and I have to say they look absolutely wonderful and have done
an excellent job today.
The great thing about being a best man, which incidentally is ... Show more content on

I don t remember meeting Brandon for the first time, he just kind of appeared many, many years ago
before I was old enough to have a memory. However, that may well be a good thing, because some of
those early memories are quiet disturbing.
During the mid to late seventies Brandon was quiet convinced that he was 70 s motorcycle pin up Erik
Estrada from Chips.
(At this point I held up a picture of this guy and compared it with a picture of 7 year old Brandon to
emphasise how dissimilar they looked)
He also thought that Cola Cubes made him bionic! A tip that you might like to pick up on there Lisa!
Its testimony to Lisa Brandons relationship that he s now over Erik, and Brandons smile has now
returned following that fateful afternoon back in 1980 when, out of his mind on a quarter of cola cubes
he attempted his first and last ever non handed bicycle jump.
I think I can sum up the moment by combining the words, crown jewels and crossbars. In fact it s a
miracle of medicine that Brandon did not just deliver his speech to you today in the style of Joe
Pescuali.
As Brandon progressed to becoming a teenager he found that if he took his cola cubes in liquid form
and added a decent shot of Vodka, he became even more bionic! Of course some of us know different.
Yes we know that it made him talk rubbish like the best of us can, but the funniest thing was that it
made him dance like he was actually trying to take his trousers off. At

Teamwork In Into Thin Air
Andrew Alfonso 10/10/14 English 2 Honors Section 1 Into Thin Air Essay Leadership and teamwork
are essential in success. In the Jon Krakauer s novel, Into Thin Air, the protagonists of the story try to
live out the ambitious dream of climbing Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. However,
tragedy strikes when an unexpected storm hits, causing the protagonists to face the unforgiving forces
of nature. Krakauer suggests that great leadership and teamwork are better than individual
achievement. Krakauer wishes for partners with experience for protection and help on the expedition.
Krakauer also shows that the failure of the expedition is due to weak leadership. Teamwork and
leadership can make or break an experience. Krakauer

The Process Of Making Flour Essay
Today, grain are collecting and threshing by harvesting machines with large headers to put it in a grain
wagon in order to transfer it to be stored (see Fig. 2). Making flour process is one of the most
important steps before bread making that is obtained by grinding the seeds in a very huge milling
machine (see Fig. 3). The process of making bread starts with collecting the ingredients like sugar,
flour, milk, malt, salt and storing them in storage. Certain types of Lorries carry flour from which
different types of bread are made of. Later on, it is put into containers that are found in a separate
place taking the form of a tower. Other ingredients are left in the storage area (see Fig. 4). Special
dough kneading machine that is provided with a powerful double screw is utilized in kneading
process. While the ingredients are mixing together, the machine starts from a low to a high speed. The
dough became ready during five minutes before transporting it to the next place where it is
proportioned (see Fig. 5). Divider is a very special machine used to divide the dough into parts of a
certain weight that are considered. These pieces are transported from the divider to machine taking the
con shape which is responsible for give them a rounded shape which in their turn are left to be
fermented for about nine minutes. After germination process, the rounded shapes are formed in a long
oval form. The spheres are kneaded flat and then rolled up (see Fig. 6). White bread is baked in a

  • 7. Loss Of Innocence In Tears By Harper Lee Loss of innocence can be a sad and depressing moment for children and their family. Nowadays, drugs and pregnancy are often a big sign of loss of innocence in a person, and can cause a person to live a negative life. However, others react differently to their loss of innocence, and with the right support someday they can be an influence in the world. The poem, Tears by Jason Yu investigates the theme of loss of innocence through multiple symbols and similes. The image of the two leaves is also a great example of loss of innocence, but the imagery and characterization used by Harper Lee that shows Jem and Dill s loss of innocence is the most influential symbol in this theme. In particular, Jason Yu and Harper Lee both use the same imagery and symbolization to describe the loss of innocence in a child. Both authors use the idea of crying as a symbol of loss of innocence. After the main character witnesses all the horrifying discrimination acts, Yu simply states, She cries (Yu 2014). From this quote, we can conclude that by the end of her journey she understood that segregation was immoral. With the exception of few pits producing particular types of coal, British mines by the 1970s were running at loss. She was helped also by rapidly rising unemployment which acted as a major disincentive to many going on strike or pressing to hard for higher wages. The trigger for Britain s most bitter industrial dispute of recent times was the announcement that one Yorkshire pit, Cortonwood near Barnsley, was to close, all over Yorkshire walked out, not realising that it would be a year before they returned. Whereas previous coal strikes had been over in a matter of weeks, this time both union and government dug in for a lengthy battle. In the end, the biggest losers were ordinary miners. However there was a strong counter argument advanced by the miners union and the other analysts. They suggested that with a proper investment programme backed by a genuine government commitment to coal as a long term power source, large parts of the British coal industry still had a profitable future. The social consequences of widespread pit closures would be catastrophic. The impact of the strike was much wider than just in the mining industry and the regions: the scenes of violence between strikes and police regularly seen on television shocked the nation and divided public opinion. His fists clench his head as though it will burst. In this situation, Beatrice is trying to convince Eddie not to fight one of the illegal immigrants having denounced him for calling the Immigration Bureau. The truth is an allusion to the root of this tumultuous situation his feelings for his niece. The atmosphere is foreboding, punctuated by the metonymy of blood for argument or fight . This line is dark, pessimistically foreshadowing the calamitous end to the play. The ameliorative comparison between this blood and Eddie s truth is meant as assurance that his love, whilst incestuous, is not nearly as horrendous as it could be, and as he believes it to be. However, this only agitates Eddie more, heightening the perilous atmosphere of the scene. This is seen through the stage direction crying out in agony . The word agony is peculiar, as the expected emotion here would be anger, for the protagonist had been ready to fight moments ago. This is shocking to the reader, since this is the first real confirmation of Eddie s absolute erraticism. Moreover, this struggle is emphasised by the word crying , as it shows his anguish is heightened to the point of screaming. And yet, his rhetorical question reveals only disgust at Beatrice s perceptions. This provides an ironic, queerly comical contrast. For why should your body be unchastised by blows, but not mine? And in fact I too was born free... STREP: But nowhere is it the law that the father suffer this. PHEID: Wasn t he who set down this law a man like you and me, and didn t he persuade those of long ago by speaking? Is it any less allowable for me too, then, to set down in turn for the future a novel law for sons to beat their fathers in return? As for the blows that we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Literary Criticism Of Rip Van Winkle Rip was ready to attend to anybody s business but his own: but as to doing family duty, and keeping his farm in order, he found it impossible, (Irving 10). Washington Irving is a romantic American writer in the 1800s with works including Rip Van Winkle as a part of the collection of essays and short stories called The Sketchbook. Rip Van Winkle is set in a village near the Kaatskill Mountains during the American Revolution and tells the story of a man who is loved by many in the town but spends his days in idleness. His wife often nags him because Van Winkle does not work for anything in his family. One day, to escape his wife s nagging, Van Winkle walks off into the mountains with his dog, Wolfe. He stumbles upon a group of strange ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although he could be doing so many different things, he chooses to spend his days gossiping and talking about nothing. He wastes his life away instead of doing things valuable to him. Furthermore, Van Winkle lives his life with the smallest amount of trouble possible. Rip Van Winkle, however, was one of those happy mortals, of foolish, well oiled dispositions, who take the world easy, eat white bread or brown, whichever can be got with least thought or trouble, and would rather starve on a penny than work for a pound (Irving 10). Van Winkle does not work for what he wants and lives his life with the bare minimum because he s lazy. Irving presents Van Winkle as lazy. Besides being lazy, Van Winkle is also characterized as irresponsible. Irresponsibility is Van Winkle s attitude towards life and his family. His neglectfulness towards his own family and children is the exact opposite from Van Winkle s helpfulness to the villagers. For instance, Van Winkle was well liked by the children in the village because he plays with them and care for them. However, when it comes to his own children, he neglects them causing them to be as ragged and wild as if they belonged to nobody (Irving 10). Van Winkle does little things for the children in town but leaves his own kids by themselves. He never cares for them and lets them go wild while he plays with the children in the town. In ... • 26. The World On The Terrorism When looking at the terrorism that ISIS has endued it has become very evident that a solution needs to be drawn into action. In my opinion the only way to take down this organization is to begin to treat it like the state that it is. A state is defined as: a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government. ISIS has not only gained territory in Syria, Iraq and Istanbul but according to New York Times columnist, Tim Arango, ISIS is building a capacity to govern. In 2014, ISIS formally informed the world on their establishment of a caliphate. This caliphate is governed under Islamic beliefs and rulers. They have begun issuing identification cards for residents, promulgating fishing guidelines to preserve stocks, and requiring that cars carry tool kits for emergencies (Arango). Believe it or not, ISIS has been a state for two years, regardless of their lack of legitimacy, their consistent threat of violence against any of those who oppose their beliefs allows them not only to get things done, but get them done efficiently. Whether we want to accept it, ISIS is a state, and we need to treat it as such. On the 29th of June in 2014, ISIS announced that a caliphate has been establish and the caliph was to be Caliph Ibrahim. The saying goes, In order to kill a snake, one must cut off its head. The head of ISIS is the caliphate in Iraq/Syria. I believe that collapsing the caliphate will collapse the organization. I have a proposed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

PNF was developed to treat neurological dysfunctions (such as multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy) . This was an attempt to gain better control in a population of neurologically impaired instead of just offering the standard treatment at the time which was range of motion exercising and gate belt training (Knott and Voss, 1968). Even though PNF was developed for neurological dysfunctions overtime it also became principle used in others areas of life such as with athletes and personal/physical trainers. I don t remember meeting Brandon for the first time, he just kind of appeared many, many years ago before I was old enough to have a memory. However, that may well be a good thing, because some of those early memories are quiet disturbing. During the mid to late seventies Brandon was quiet convinced that he was 70 s motorcycle pin up Erik Estrada from Chips. (At this point I held up a picture of this guy and compared it with a picture of 7 year old Brandon to emphasise how dissimilar they looked) He also thought that Cola Cubes made him bionic! A tip that you might like to pick up on there Lisa! Its testimony to Lisa Brandons relationship that he s now over Erik, and Brandons smile has now returned following that fateful afternoon back in 1980 when, out of his mind on a quarter of cola cubes he attempted his first and last ever non handed bicycle jump. I think I can sum up the moment by combining the words, crown jewels and crossbars. In fact it s a miracle of medicine that Brandon did not just deliver his speech to you today in the style of Joe Pescuali. As Brandon progressed to becoming a teenager he found that if he took his cola cubes in liquid form and added a decent shot of Vodka, he became even more bionic! Of course some of us know different.
