Physical Therapy And Mental Therapist
Physical Therapist or known as PTs, Physical Therapist Assistants, and a Geriatric Physical Therapist
all sound like great careers. They are all the same in a way just different job hours, different
responsibilities, and different places of work. I would rather be a Physical Therapist than a PT
assistant and a Geriatric Physical Therapist, because PTs get paid relatively well. Also I would like to
do more than to assist a therapist. My research shows that a Physical Therapists duty is to restore
maximal functional and independence to each individual patient. They evaluate, diagnose, and make a
treatment plan to each individual patient s needs. It is offered to a wide variety of patients such as:
Newborn babies, children, adults, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
PTs examine each individual patient and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the
ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and to prevent disability. They make people young and
old feel better and let them know in time when they will be healed. The PTs know how to ease the
pain when the patients come to see them. The patients would most likely have a smile on their face
because the Physical therapist would help reduce their pain and make it go away for a while and help
them be able to move with ease. They would also most likely have a smile on their face, because they
would feel better after their visit. Compared to Geriatric physical therapy, they have to deal with all
sorts of patients with arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer, Alzheimer s disease, hip and joint replacement,
balance disorders and incontinence( Chicago: Institute for Career Research 31. I think that is a hard
job after a long day of having to deal with all those if they are scheduled for the day or within the
week, but I think that I would enjoy that more to be able to spend more time with the patient and help
them out more often. With just Physical therapy all they have to is help with medical problems or
other health related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limits their abilities to move and perform

art of china Essay examples
China has the world s oldest living civilization. It s written history goes back almost 3,500 years, and
the history told by it s artifacts and artwork goes back much farther. The oldest known works of
Chinese art include pottery and jade carvings from the time of 5000 BC. Jade is a general term used to
describe either jadeite or nephrite, known as true jade. It s composed of several minerals. It s smooth
and rich in texture, but it s also extremely tough. It can be off white, or dark green, and sometimes has
a reddish tint. Authentic jade is cool and never translucent. The philosopher Confucius described jade
perfectly when he said: quot;It is soft, smooth and shining like intelligence. It s edges seem sharp but

Although other countries also created China, the pottery originated in Asia. French porcelain was
inspired by the delicate white work from the Ting dynasty, and Clue and white Dutch Delft porcelain
was modeled after pottery from the Ming dynasty.
Pottery started out as functional, but became more ornamental as the centires continued. the themes of
the painted and carved porcelain were mostly nature scenes, but they were also from folklore. Artrists
originaly molded the clay with their hands and set it in the sun to try. Eventualy they began to use a
potter s wheel, and they used a glaze at the same time as the romans.
During the Tang dynasty, Chinese pottery began to develop it s own distict style. They used the first
colored glazes, and underglaze painting. The best pottery came from the time between the Sung
dynasty and the Ming times, when the King hired officials to work in his court strictly as potters.
When these artists made mistakes in their work (cracks or drips), they used the mistakes to create a
picture, such as turning a crack into a tree, or a drip into a teardrop.
Although painting was not China s first form of art, it is probably the most important and dominating
form today. Chinese paintings have always tried to capture philosophy as well as details. 1,400 years
ago, Hsieh Ho, made six basic laws for painting, which artists in China still follow today. They

who replied her question by saying that she was not mad. The nurse began to laugh at Veronika s

mad did not associate anything for Veronika. Meanwhile, a woman asked her that whether she knew
the meaning of mad or not. She asked for the identity of that woman. That woman was Zedka and then
Veronika started to talk to Zedka. Zedka, who was also a patient in hospital, started to tell a story to
Veronika. The story was following;there was a wizard and that wizard wished to eliminate a kingdom
by placing poison into the well of the kingdom from which the people of the kingdom had their water.
When the people drank from the well, they got all mad. The king began to declare regulations in order
to control the people. Since all the people behaved in the same manner, they began to see the King and
Queen as mad couples. Later it occurred to the mind of queen that they were to drink from the well

Politics And Politics Of Mexico
Politics has had significant impacts on states. Depending on the state, they can be positive or negative.
The politics of Mexico can be represented by three authors: Seeing Like a State by James Scott,
Transitions to Democracy by Dankwart Rustow, and End of the Transition Paradigm by Thomas
Carothers all exemplify the politics of the country of Mexico.
Mexico can be described as a country de democratizing; it is still officially a democratic unity, but
citizens are skeptical about completely trusting their government. The political system has an effective
organizational basis, meaning the checks and balances concept also applies to their government and
citizens are able to vote for favorable political candidates, however, often ... Show more content on

The arrangement of cities is important to facilitate political control.
In regards to the influence of politics towards a state, Rustow discusses the process to which
democracy is developed. National unity is key, and is the foundation of the process (Rustow 1970:
350); Lacking national unity would mean that democracy would not be able to flourish, or even begin
developing. By national unity, Rustow means that as a whole, a majority of citizens in a country not
yet in a democracy, must agree on identification of their political status (Rustow 351). This would
allow the transition to democracy to be more smoothly, and have minimal conflict since the majority
of citizens would agree on their political identification for their country.
Secondly, however, conflict is necessary, according to Rustow (Rustow 352). Conflict would
eventually lead the opponents to end up with democracy, but Rustow still recognizes the possible
failure of reaching democracy through conflict (Rustow 355). Conflict will force the parties involved
to think of ways to secede from such turmoil, thus democracy could be a possible outcome. But, the
possibility still exists that both parties will not reach a solution or that one party may win and lead the
way towards a non democratic political system (Rustow 354).

Evolution Of Neon Signs
Neon signs, you can find them just about anywhere such as bars, bowling alleys, and restaurants. You
mainly see them in store windows saying open. But open signs are just the beginning. You can find
them in a variety of vibrant colors and complex shapes.
The atoms of the 18 noble gases including neon and argon, etc, will almost never form stable
molecules by chemically bonding with other atoms. It s simple to build a gas discharge tube such as a
neon light which reveals that inertness is a relative matter. To create a neon sign, you need to provide a
high enough electric voltage to electrodes at the ends of a glass tube containing the noble gas. The
light then begins to glow. For most neon signs, it takes at least 3000 volts.Argon

Afro-Eurasian Trade Routes
Although Afro Eurasian trade routes continuously were the method of transit for many luxury goods
and religions; the importance of these routes, the people that controlled them, and the diseases and
ideas that were spread across these routes changed tremendously throughout the period from 300 CE
to 1450 CE. Throughout the time period of 300 1450 there were four main trade routes that connected
each part of the Afro Eurasian landmass to form one large interconnected system of commerce. These
routes were the Mediterranean Sea route, the Trans Saharan route, the Indian Ocean trade route, and
the Silk Road. Each of these trade routes served as a method of transport for luxury goods, such as;

During the reign of the Roman Empire, the trade networks that connected Africa, Europe, and Asia
flourished, however, after the fall of the Romans these trade routes saw a period of decline. This
period of decline, especially on the Silk Road, was due mainly to the fact that there was no longer a
regulatory body, such as the Roman Empire, to create a safe environment for merchants. However, in
the 600 when the Muslim religion began to form and grow, their empire was able to provide some
stability for the trade routes in Africa and Europe, as well as the most western parts of the Silk Road.
The Muslim tradition of the Hajj, a trip that fulfills one of the five pillars of Islam, was able to
increase trade in Saudi Arabia especially. Stability, and thus an increase in importance, was not truly
achieved for the Silk Road until 1200 when the Mongols were able to conquer most of Asia. The
Mongols were strong believers in the merchant system that worked along the Silk Road, therefore they
put in place strict safeguards for the merchants on that route. By the year 1200 most areas of the Afro
Eurasian trade routes were safe and therefore highly important once

The geography of the New England Colonies is diverse. Some New England states have thick
forest, hilly landscapes, and rocky soil, while others have rich soil and flat land. This area is not
suitable for farming as it is extremely rocky. In addition, most of the rural areas are covered with
forests and woods. While the southern colonies are bordered by the Appalachian Mountains on the
west, and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The geography of the Southern Colonies
featured tideland ideal for broad rivers for transportation, forest and swamp marshes, hilly coastal
plains, and growing crops. Moreover, to describe the temperatures effects on agriculture, the Southern
colonies had warm, damp climate, which allowed settlers to grow cash crops.Among the most
common crops were cotton, tobacco, indigo, rice and grain. The also produced large amounts of furs
and timber for trade. On the other side, due to the fact the climate of New England is far colder than
the other regions and winters tend to last longer they only had enough food for themselves with very
little left over for trade. There main agriculture consisted of fishing, whaling, trading, creating lumber
and shipbuilding. To summarize, the geography of New England and the Southern colonies are

How Does Twain Characterize In Huck Finn
Twain, Mark. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Webster, 1885. The novel, The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn, is among the first major vernacular English American literature, according to
Wikipedia. It features a fictional first person account of people and towns along the Mississippi River
in Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas. Huckleberry Huck Finn is a teenage boy, who is raised by his
drunken father and has difficulty conforming to society. The plot begins with a recap of The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer, explaining how Huck Finn and Tom had just came into a large sum of
money and that Huck Finn was currently being sivilized by Widow Douglas. Twain s novel provides a
satirical view of a racist society during the mid 1800 s, through the perspective of Huckleberry Finn.
Although The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published in the late 1800 s, it is still widely
popular throughout the world today (Wikipedia).

The Treatment Of Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell therapy, also known as regenerative medication, has been an increasingly utilized therapy in
recent years. The cells added to the body interact with the surrounding body, making the regenerative
process available to begin the healing process of the cells at the site (R. (2014)). These therapies are
used to heal common sport injuries such as a knee injury, diseases, arthritis, and many other crippling
effects that may occur in the human body (R. (2014)). Many of the stem cells that are used from the
therapies can come from bone marrow, fat,and blood from the patient or even cells from more
controversial areas such human embryos. Stem cell therapy has shown a lot of promising effects, not
only outshining the effects of prescription medicine given out to patients from doctors, but it has also
shown that the therapy has long term effects than a steroid would have had.
Stem cell therapy is important because it has given hope to several people with common illnesses such
as arthritis, knee pains, and back pains by regenerating their cells to realize the pain that they are in.
Most of the patients who come in for sport related injuries are professional athletes. Most of the time
these athletes are the ones who have obtained a knee injury in basketball or football and are resorting
the use of a steroid to try to fix the pain, but soon realize that it is not a long lasting effect. This is
where stem cell therapy comes into play. Chris Johnson from the New York Jets was one

The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen on War Essay
The Views of Rupert Brooke and Wil
My selected poems are The Soldier by Rupert Brooke and Dulce et
Decorum est by Wilfred Owen. Both war poems but conveying their different feelings and presenting
their views of war in radically different ways.
The poets have polarized views of war with Rupert Brooke writing his poem in a romanticized and
patriotic way referring to the possibility of death as a noble cause, for England the land that gave him
life.
This is at odds to how Wilfred Owen views the reality and horror of war. The poets choice of title

The rest of the stanza continues to describe the men and the things they saw and sounds they heard:
Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots
Of Gas shells dropping softly behind
The use of the word Drunk is trying to emphasise that the soldier s were acting oblivious to the
happenings around them as if they weren t conscious and even deaf to the sounds of bombs.
In the second stanza the poet portrays an ecstasy of fumbling meaning he creates a huge panic of all
the men trying to apply their gas masks in time and illustrates the image of one soldier who didn t get
his mask on in time.
Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets
This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they were
in. The adjective clumsy is used trying to describe how awkward the helmets were to put on, and how
much of a hassle they were to put on.
One of the men in this poem didn t get his mask on in time and was left by the rest in pain, screaming
and becoming weak:
But someone was still yelling out and stumbling
The word someone is used there because Owen is trying to show the man as being just another soldier.
He was nothing special in that he died for his country but no one remembers him as a hero, just one of
the thousands of men who died.
Owen then says how the someone was yelling out for help, for a soldier to come and rescue him and
help him

Drug abuse: an increasingly popular activity people are using as an escape from reality. Little do they
know, after long term substance abuse, they may never be in touch with reality again. Nearly 22
million Americans 12 years and older use drugs illegally. All drugs, prescription or recreational, can
be divided into four classes; depressants, opioids, hallucinogens, and stimulants which all have long
lasting effects when they are abused. Depending on which class and more specifically which drug a
person abuses, the effects can vary.

Effects Of Quebec Sovereignty
The movement of Quebec sovereignty, if it were to be implemented, would have substantial
consequences, not only on Quebec but also on Canada as a whole. For this reason, the movement
should be challenged. It is ironic how much of Quebec advocates for independence, yet the effects
would be economically detrimental. If Quebec succeeded in being granted independence, it would
need to negotiate with the rest of Canada about assuming its share of federal debt (Ragan,

equal to 92 percent of the province s gross domestic product (Ragan, Christopher). Undoubtedly, this

My Experience At High School
My mom and I were driving home from my club volleyball practice when I broke down in tears due to
stress. High school class registration was coming up and I still had no idea whether or not I wanted to
do band or volleyball in high school. Being a 14 year old in 8th grade, I never thought that I would
have to make such a colossal decision that would affect my life forever. I only had 2 more days to
decide how I would present myself in the new world of high school popularity, and I had no idea
whether I would choose the life of athletics or musical talents. My first instinct wanted to have the
best of both worlds. Maybe in the fall I could be part of the volleyball team and in the spring I could
pick up band and be involved in both organizations. I would be able to play the sport I loved and get
to know the volleyball girls and then in the spring reconnect with my band friends while playing hard
music and getting to know the band program in that way. In my heart I knew this was not going to
happen, there was no way that I could have both athletics and band in my schedule, nor could I truly
be happy with this decision. I would miss out on the best part of band, the marching and athletic part,
and spring for volleyball is the time when the team bonds the most because of the awful hell of off
season. I just couldn t pick this option, no matter how much I craved to have both volleyball and band
in my life together. For the majority of 8th grade I had my heart set on playing

Power In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s N
Additionally, Foucault suggests that the Panopticon can be controlled by anyone, because the power
does not lie in lies in not knowing who is in control, but how authority is able to psychologically
control people, which is not illuminated in Kesey s novel, since Nurse Ratched makes all of the
decisions in the ward herself. Foucault states that it doesn t matter who exercises power. Any
individual, taken almost at random, can operate this machine (321), meaning that one who operates
this machine will not abuse the power he is given. In contrast, Nurse Ratched is the head nurse on the

Gomez And Catullus
Although the thought of repeating history is often followed by a negative connotation, a lot of the
things people do today are similar to the things people did long ago. A lot of the movies made in the
21st century are just remakes of movies made in the 19th and 20th century. Similarly, a lot of our

Prior to the crime, Cody Metzker Madsen lived a repulsive childhood. It began the first three months

The Symbolism Of Tunnels In Literature
Lauren Schmidt

A Deeper Look: Stars, skeletons, and shadows are objects that may initially seem common and
insignificant to the plot of a novel. However, authors sometimes have a purpose behind simple objects
like these, events that occur, and/or the types of characters that are developed. When an author utilizes
a recurrent symbol, character, or situation that is an instinctual expression of man s nature and
experiences that are universal, the author is incorporating archetypes. In the novel
, author Stephen Chbosky develops several archetypes with a purpose of aiding the reader in
understanding and connecting with the novel and its characters. By including several prominent
archetypes such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this understanding, the reader is more likely to be able to relate to Charlie s adolescent
transformation or make connections with other young adult novels. The season of winter is a
prominent archetype in as well. Winter often accompanies dark, dreary, and somber times. In the
novel, Charlie hits his ultimate low point in his battle with depression in the middle of winter. He felt
that he was alone and had absolutely no one to turn to. One night shortly after New Year s, Charlie
found himself both mentally and physically lost. Suffocated by heavy thoughts, he wandered outside
and laid in the snow, only for a policeman to find him pale blue and asleep the next day, and he didn t
stop shivering from the cold until a long time after [his] mom and dad drove [him] home from the
emergency room, (Chbosky 98). The cold, snowy winter can be viewed as an archetype that affects
how the reader perceives this point in Charlie s transformation. The mood of the story, or how it
makes the reader feel, seems much more dismal because of the time of year. The reader will be able to
understand more completely how miserable of a time this was for Charlie, and he/she could
potentially relate to this feeling of loneliness. Another archetype that is present in is a hero. A hero is a
character who embarks on a journey where challenges and fears are overcome. Often times, heroes

If his company had not acted on his information, after he challenged all the way to the upper most

to another company or to the public for others to develop.
Because the company is donating these drugs and has made the donation public, it should follow that
the consumers for their other drugs understand that there is some residual increase in costs to them for
other drugs in order to pay for those donations. From a business point of view, Merck is probably
taking every possible measure to reduce the overhead costs of production but at the end of the day, all
they are really donating are the compounds used to formulate the drugs, whatever minimal packaging
has been the least costly and most effective, and a willingness to accept possible future liability if their
drug backfires on them with unforeseen side effects. It would be unreasonable to assume that they will
operate at a complete loss for this donation.
My personal reaction to having to contribute towards or pay for some part of the drug would be

How Kids Learn Resilience Summary
The Falsehood of Resilience
The article How Kids Learn Resilience is written by Paul Tough and she confesses for all our talk
about non cognitive skills, nobody has yet found a reliable way to teach kids to be grittier or more
resilient (Tough 3). A new idea is developing that these characteristics are not found in teaching but
through environmental forces inside the classroom and at home. In the article researchers, economists,
American schools, and teachers showcase how grit and resilience can be placed in the minds of young
children and in the middle and high school stages. The author takes us on a journey through different
theories, studies, and programs to help grasp a better understanding of how young children and
teenagers can develop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In comparison, this viewpoint alternated my opinion as Dante Cicchetti displays research on the
determinants of resilience in maltreated children is presented as an illustration of empirical work that
is moving from single level to multilevel investigations of competent functioning in the face of
adversity and trauma .
For many different intellectuals in this article feel as though all our talk about noncognitive skills,
nobody has yet found a reliable way to teach kids to be grittier or more resilient (3). As a result, Paul
Tough does not build a logical argument because nobody can determine how a person obtains
grittiness.
Due to this topic being so broad, there is no definite answer to how an individual can truly learn
resilience. Also, in the article How Kids Learn Resilience Paul Tough emphasizes the point that non
cognitive traits like grit, self regulation, optimism, and resilience simply cannot be taught. In this case,
I agree but on the other hand, she reveals that it is being built through student centered environments,
which include both a sense of belonging and academic

The Graduate Film Analysis
The Graduate, a film directed by Mike Nichols in 1976, is a film that has influenced the way I view
the world. It is a story of a college graduate, Benjamin Braddock (played by Dustin Hoffman), who
finds himself trapped in the superficial or plastic world around him. Because of this, he feels trapped,
depressed, and insecure about his future. This makes him an easy target for Mrs. Robinson (played by
Anne Bancroft), the middle aged cougar and wife of his father s business partner. At Ben s Graduation
party, Mrs. Robinson manipulates Ben into driving her home and coming into her daughter s bedroom,
supposedly to look at her daughter s picture, where she appears before him naked offering herself to
him. Ben refuses her at first, but when Ben feels like he cannot escape the pressure of his future, he
decides to start an affair with Mrs. Robinson as a way to mentally escape. Ben continues to meet Mrs.
Robinson at night until he realizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Limitations For Safe Driving
As a teenager, getting a driving license is a long extraneous task of taking tests, reading driving
guidelines, and even taking a required class sophomore year. All of these help prepare new drivers for
the next stage of their life in transport. I personally went through all of this just a year ago, and I have
seen how it can help prepare fairly new drivers for safe driving. After getting a license there are many
limitations put on you, some only last for a few months, but others last for your whole high school
career. Limitations like these help new drivers to learn good and lasting habits, so that they can keep
themselves and others safe. Some of these laws; however, need to be updated and more defined, so
that teenage drivers learn and understand how dangerous driving really is.
One big limitation is not being able to have any passengers in the car unless they are related to you.
This is a great law, because teens can become distracted by their friends, but one things that bothers
me is this law is active for six months from getting your license, but after that you can have friends in
your car. I just think that this shouldn t be so abrupt, going from no one in your car to a car full of your
friends. I think that teens should, during their first six months, have checkpoints in which they can
slowly accumulate more people in their car and become more used to having distractions, and being
able to avoid them. I know most kids don t follow this law anyway, but for those who do follow this
law, I believe it will greatly help them become more accustomed to driving with distracting people in
their car.
Another law that I think could be more enforced is the 40 hours of driving rule. This rule is that new
drivers must drive at least 40 hours in the car before they get their license, 10 of those hours must be
at night, while the other 30 is during the day. This rule isn t really very enforced, and is just passed by,
but I think that there should be more strict rules put upon this, so that we know that new drivers are
experienced enough to drive safely. Driving 40 hours is a long time, and that is a long time to be able
to train your skills and make better habits to help your driving. If a new driver completes

Close Air Support Research Papers
Close Air Support (CAS) is a complex mission due to the interaction of ground forces and airpower in
short distance from the enemy. Historical examples evidenced that cultural differences and service
rivalry affected the efficiency of CAS after World War II; while on the other hand, having a joint force
with proper training improved its performance. The US Air Force and US Army argued about the
property of the assets as the main factor limiting efficiency, conversely the Marine Corps exploited the
strength of having CAS as the rationale for their air assets to optimize its procedures. However,
beyond the issue of who owns the planes, the real difference is the use of proper training to integrate
air and ground forces, assimilate doctrines, and exploit the new technologies. This paper presents a
review of historical examples of CAS training, the problems of current training and future challenges
to enable joint training under current restrictions of budgets and availability of forces. CAS was one of

social control activism was not enough. The community began to bridge the gap between policy and
the neighborhood. Through community activism, Washington Heights continued to see a decline in
crime and the start of gentrification. Today, Washington Heights has one of the lowest crime rates in
New York City and the borough of Manhattan (NYC Police, 2017). The community s relationship
with the New York City Police Department is not perfect. Areas that are predominantly people of color

issue as most of the country, especially people of color, have a negative relationship with police

lifetime, Prince Albert claimed that he had always had a stuttering problem and did not have progress
or success with a variety of treatments. His wife, Elizabeth, persuades Prince Albert to visit a speech
therapist that she had met. In the beginning of the movie, he did not want to meet the therapist because
he had ineffective treatments. Finally, Elizabeth persuaded Prince Albert to visit and meet Lionel
Logue. Elizabeth takes the Prince to meet Lionel, in which the speech therapist claimed that he could
have Bertie reading a paragraph without any hesitation in that specific moment. Lionel put
headphones on Bertie, and played music through the headphones so he could not hear himself speak.
As he was reading the paragraph from Hamlet, Lionel had recorded his speech and claimed the Prince

recording. Lionel gave the Prince the recording as he left in a hurry. Little did the Duke of York know,

Effects of Agricultural Production on Water Quality
Introduction:
Agriculture should be seen as an industry in the business of producing food and not as a natural
system, and as in all industries it requires materials to be consumed in the production. If not all the
materials are consumed in production they may become dispersed into the environment. This
agricultural industry can be divided into two major areas, plant and animal production.
The production of plants requires large amounts of water, between 200 and 500 liters per kg of
product, and high mineral content in the form of fertilizers. Each hectare of land gets an input of
around 100 kg nitrogen, 16 kg phosphorus, and 100 kg potassium. The effects on the environment are
determent on the amount used and the farmer s skill in using the correct application timing and rates.
What is not used in the plant production can be dispersed into the environment.
The biggest product of plant production is feed for the production of animals. In this process most of
the plant products are processed on the field leaving no containment or control in the process.
This paper discusses the effects of agricultural production on water quality. This is caused as a result
of pesticides and fertilizers used to enhanced production ending up in the water. The main focus will
be on fertilizer, primarily nitrogen.
The Chemistry:
To reach the output needed to produce a product on the global level agriculture as many industries has
gone to chemistry to improve their product. The use of

Probation Parole And Parole Case
Approximately 1 in 51 adults in the United States was under community supervision at yearend 2013,
the lowest rate observed since 1996 (Herberman Bonczar, 2014, p.1). Probation/parole supervision
also known as community supervision, helps individuals (ex criminals) acclimate back in their
community. Probation is used when a judge chooses to let the offender serve his sentence under
officer supervision in the community, rather than in prison. It is usually given to individuals that have
committed a non violent/ minor infraction or that have a really good defense attorney. However, when
someone has been sent to prison for an extended period of time but have served a certain amount of
their time or has proven to the Parole Board that they have improved their behavior, will be released to
a Parole officer. The probation and parole program is comprised of two approaches casework and
brokerage. Casework approach deals with the offender as a flawed person that needs help; brokerage
approach is when the probation/parole officer uses his influence in the community to assist the
criminal in finding employment or programs. Knowing how to use these approaches along with
monitoring techniques will assist in the officer and offender being successful. This paper will examine
the approaches to PO work along with the types of monitoring used to keep track of offenders. The
purpose of this paper is to examine the elements of community supervision (probation/parole) that will

Essay about The Urinary System
The Urinary System is a group of organs in the body concerned with filtering out excess fluid and
other substances from the bloodstream. The substances are filtered out from the body in the form of
urine. Urine is a liquid produced by the kidneys, collected in the bladder and excreted through the
urethra. Urine is used to extract excess minerals or vitamins as well as blood corpuscles from the
body. The Urinary organs include the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The Urinary system works
with the other systems of the body to help maintain homeostasis. The kidneys are the main organs of
homeostasis because they maintain the acid base balance and the water salt balance of the blood.

The Internal urethral sphincter is involuntary. The ureters enter the bladder diagonally from its
dorsolateral floor in an area called the trigone. The trigone is a triangular shaped area on the postero
inferior wall of the bladder. The urethra exits at the lowest point of the triangle of the trigone. The
urine in the bladder also helps regulate body temperature. If the bladder becomes completely void of
fluid, it causes the patient to chill.
The urethra is a muscular tube that connects the bladder with the outside of the body. The function of
the urethra is to remove urine from the body. It measures about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in a woman but up
to 8 inches (20 cm) in a man. In the human female, the urethra is about 1 2 inches long and opens in
the vulva between the clitoris and the vaginal opening. In the human male, the urethra is about 8
inches long and opens at the end of the head of the penis. Men have a longer urethra than women. This
means that women tend to be more susceptible to infections of the bladder (cystitis) and the urinary
tract.
The functional unit of the kidney is the nephron. It contains a glomerular (Bowman s) capsule, a cup
shaped structure that surrounds a glomerulus (group of capillaries). Together, the glomerular capsule
and glomerulus form a unit called the renal corpuscle. Attached to the Bowman s capsule is a long,
twisting renal tubule that has four parts: the proximal convoluted tubule, the loop of Henle, the

Middle-Range Theory
Theory Scope Categorizing the Theory Scope, the first step of theory analysis, involves describing the
abstractness of their theory concepts and propositions. While the scope of the grand theory is
nonspecific, the scope of the middle range theory is more specific and limited. A middle range theory,
additionally, can be classified in terms of descriptive, explanatory, or predictive. Leventhal et al. did
not identify the type of their theory. However, the words and sentences that they mentioned in the
CSM can categorize as a middle range theory. The CSM was proposed to provide the framework for
depicting the self regulation when individuals have to encounter stress caused by an illness and
understanding the processes involved in problem coping. Leventhal et al. described that the CSM
consists of three core concepts: representation of illness, coping, and coping appraisal. The
relationship between the concepts was presented in the parallel processing system that interact as the
individual adapts to each specific situation. These processes lead individuals to seek health care for
acute illnesses and manage their illness for chronic conditions. Additionally, the CSM was used as a
theoretical framework in research and applied in practice, particularly psychological, behavioral, and
nursing fields. The results of study can make possible intervention which would help patients develop
valid coping processes. Consequently, The CSM can be classified as a middle range predictive theory.

Riordan Manufacturing Company Business Systems
Good communication is vital in any organization. Riordan Manufacturing Company is a multi billion
dollar plastics manufacturer, which makes good use of top of the line technological equipment for its

Human resources Riordan is currently upgrading the current business systems of each department.
Management has asked the human resources department to provide information for the current
department business systems and subsystems such as: the name of the system, how the systems work
together for that department, what information is contained in the system and what security is used for
that part of the system. The human resources department will research different business software
systems and provide information on a new and secure business software system that will be needed to
replace the current system.
Riordan is currently using an HRIS system that was installed in 1992 as part of a package system that
the financial department is using. The system uses data retrieved from specialized forms and a
subsystem of excel spreadsheets. The forms are used by managers and the employee relation
specialists. The forms used by managers include employees personal information, pay rate, tax
information, date hired, seniority date, vacation time, and organizational information. The employee
relations specialist also uses forms to track information

The Role Of Class In The Gilded Age And Progressive Era
Class
To begin, class influenced the Gilded Age and Progressive Era in the changing working conditions as
a response to industrialization. Class was also apparent in Gilded Age politics and in the changing
political culture that foreshadowed the bureaucratic government of the Progressives. Middle Class
Progressives played a vital role in America by seeking reform and influence among the upper and
working class. Thus, class assumed a prominent role in influencing the Gilded Age and Progressive
Era. Changing Working Conditions
In the 19th century, there were several structural changes in the nature of work. These changes
included deskilling of jobs, which led to the decline of the heroic artisan and economic depressions.
All these factors contributed to tense strikes between workers and employers. During the Antebellum
period, most white American workers were self reliant, but the nature of work and production began to
shift after the Civil War, as the industrial workplace increased in size, immigration swelled, and the
number of wage workers surpassed that of self employed men. Thus, heroic artisans experienced
threats with the emergence of a class of permanent wage workers, which killed their republic dreams
for American economic self sufficiency, property ownership, and self employment. Nevertheless, the
real challenge for white wage Americans began in the 1870s and 1880s, as xenophobic anxieties of
Chinese workers emerged. [1]
Additionally, the late 19th century was

A decision that can only be made by you based on your personal preferences. So let s get down to the
brass tax: 1. Chain Drives The most frequently used and typically the least expensive. Chain drives
use a metal chain to run. Unfortunately the trade off is a noisy motor. Should you have a detached
garage or perhaps want to hear what time your children are coming home at night this might be a good
option. But if you d rather no noise, say because there are bedrooms above the garage, the chain drive
might NOT be for you. 2. Belt Drives Hands down, the best seller on the market today. Belt drives are
very dependable run nearly silent, thanks to their rubber belt! If you have an connected garage or hate
loud noise, this is absolutely the opener for you. Belt drives are more expensive than chain drives, but
you ll know where the extra money went when you can enjoy the sweet sound of silence. 3. Screw
Drives These use a lifting device that runs along a threaded steel rod. Not recommended because they
don t like drastic temperature changes. So if you live in a region with hot summers and cold winters,
you should consider another option. Screw drives are moderately priced but noisy and slow

Argumentative Essay On Something About Camo Underwear
Something About Camo Underwear
What comes to your mind when camo or camouflage is said? Well, the first thing that came a across
my mind was the soldier s uniform. I had never been introduced Camo Underwear before and when I
was, it came to me as a pleasant surprise. I thought that I will be a little soldier with these. Jokes apart,
the respective print in men s underwear has gone from nowhere to a huge popularity.
Well, let us take a deeper look into what exactly is camo print.
Introduced long back for the purpose of hiding in the woods (that s how it looks like it). Whether for
the hunting or from the enemies at war, camouflage print did best to hide you in the surroundings.
What happened next was, that the fashion industry adopted it

Benefits Of Being A Police Officer
Being a police officer is a physically and mentally strenuous job. The purpose of physical education
training is to ensure that, police officers are in good shape to handles the stresses they are exposed to
every day in their line of work. Physical fitness is especially vital in law enforcement due to two main
reasons. First, physical fitness is necessary for active duty, as officers must be in excellent physical
conditions to chase offenders and break up brawls in bars (Papazoglou Andersen, 2014). Second,
police officers need physical exercise for longevity. According to recent studies, the average age of an
American is 72 years (Papazoglou Andersen, 2014). Nevertheless, the mean age of police officers in
the US is 59.5 years; this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Seeking the services of certified fitness trainers prevents police officers from getting injuries during
training. In addition, it allows them to get into the best shape possible within the shortest time. Law
enforcement organizations can also encourage self directed training among their staff to encourage
officers to enroll in gyms and keep fit even when they are not in the workplace.
I believe that physical training education is an important aspect of officer preparation. I have seen
cases in which police officers have been able to escape death or save civilians from a similar fate only
because they were physically fit and quick to react. For instance, I once saw a police officer dive in
front of an oncoming bus to save a four year old boy from being run over. He was only able to save
the boy s life because he was in good shape. Moreover, it is common to see police officers dodging
bullets skillfully during public shootouts and apprehend criminals; this requires them to be in good
physical shape. This shows that physical education training is very important in law enforcement.
Lastly, physical education training seeks to improve the community as a whole. It aims at producing
police officers who can handle the strenuous tasks of their job efficiently, protecting the public more
effectively. In addition, it reduces the rate of unhealthiness in the society. In such a manner, it is a very
important part of officer training. Furthermore, it exercises the

Milton Friedman
In his paper, The Social Responsibilities of Business is to Increase its Profits (Friedman, 1970), Milton
Friedman discusses social responsibility and what he feels it means in the business arena. He goes on
to say A corporation is an artificial person (Friedman, 1970) and since this is not a real person, cannot
have any responsibilities. While a corporation or business has a leader or board of directors, Friedman
states these individuals cannot make decisions on social responsibility without eating into the profits
of the company, the employee s wages, or even the price that the customer has to pay for the item.
Upon my first review of Friedman s article, I thought he was throwing everything about a good
company out the window. After reading it a second time, and realizing it was written in 1970, I believe
he was stating the first responsibility of a company is to make a profit. Why else would you be in
business? You cannot make money if you give your goods away for free! I believe this is the
foundation of any business, to make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the next step in the business should be the legal responsibilities. In his article, Friedman states there
are constitutional, parliamentary and judicial provisions that can impact a business. Think about
climate control and greenhouse gases. Standards for automobile fuel economy were established under
the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) of 1975, and have subsequently been increased and
expanded to include most light trucks. ( Federal Actions: Federal Programs Directory DOT

the laws on emissions when building new vehicles. Whether they choose to follow the law becomes an

The Effect Of Unconventional Gas Expansion On Energy Economy
Section 8 9
8. Effect of Unconventional Gas Expansion on Energy Economy
8.1 Methodology
The expansion of the unconventional gas production exhibits a number of uncertainties with regards to
the natural gas overall supply balance which in turn has a great impact on the energy economy in
general. In order to understand this effect, one must start to look in to the
1. Difference in trading between the main sources of energy: oil and Natural gas and how this
expansion is going to affect these methods of trading either negatively or positively.
2. The cost of production from unconventional gas resources and the future expected changes due to
development in technology. Adding to that the expected amount of production in the future.

Asia uses crude oil as a benchmark for natural gas prices and favours long term contracts. Japan and
Korea almost totally dependent on imported LNG. This dependence places a high premium on
security of supply and has kept prices in Asia high relative to other regions (Suárez, 2012).
Despite the two different trading methods between gas and oil, historically it has been noticed that the
trend in energy cost of both is following the same trend ignoring the price difference based on trading
model between the three pre mentioned trading methods for Natural gas.
The fast recent development of production from unconventional gas resources mainly shale gas in
North America (United States and Canada) has interrupted this relationship.
Early in 21st century, North America was forecasted to require around 60 billion cubic feet/ year of
gas and since the resources at that time do not include the unconventional gas resources, this supply
was forecasted to be delivered from other countries including Qatar, Angola and Nigeria. A number of
export terminals were built on those countries. In addition, around 50 import terminals were planned
to be constructed in North America including Mexico, United States and Canada.

Loggers Culture
Creating a Culture of Renewal: Saving Jobs, Saving Resources The topic of forest management in
America has been one of the most controversial and long standing issues between loggers,
environmentalist groups, and forestry workers. All parties have several valid arguments regarding their
position on forest management politics and how they have impacted the world s forests and
ecosystems. The question is how can these groups come to a compromise that will satisfy all parties
involved?
Loggers have a long and proud history of working in the woods. They provide lumber for building
homes and products for everyday consumers. In fact, many loggers have several generations in their

In the event that a fire does start, suppression activities would be carried out faster and more
effectively than those areas that have gone without treatment. Proof of this can be found within a
study that was done after the 2002 Biscuit Fire that happened within the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in
Southern Oregon. Scientists on a research team studied the damage of the fire in areas that had
previously been treated by having ground and ladder fuels removed via thinning/cutting and
prescribed underburning. These areas showed the least tree mortality of any other areas within the fire.
The areas with the highest tree mortality included those that had been thinned but ground fuels had not
been removed as well as areas that had had no prior treatment. David Peterson, a research biologist
stated, Biologists have known this in principal for many years...the Biscuit Fire gave us a chance to
validate the effectiveness of on the ground fuel treatments (USDA Forest Service).
It seems fairly evident that there needs to be a balanced compromise regarding how the subject of
forest management. Loggers provide an important service and still need to work, but the environment
and its resources need to be protected. Meanwhile, wildfires that have the potential to be prevented
with proper fuels management are costing billions of dollars per year to suppress. Is it possible

Tube Feeding Case Study
Tube Feeding a Risk Factor for Dementia Patients
As Dementia patients are clinically faced with multiple risk factors they can also encounter the
possibility of losing the ability to intake food. With such symptoms taking a toll on one s body it is at
times when family members can often become responsible for decision making situations. In James
Jewells, case he was in charge of doing so as he had his mother Joan Jewell, who was 89 years old in a
nursing home as she suffered from Dementia. While most of her time was spent in bed, she would
sometimes recognize family members, could not speak that many words and had trouble swallowing.
As her doctor noticed that she was rapidly losing weight he suggested on inserting a feeding tube that

Researchers have come to a conclusion that the use of artificial feeding is controversial as cited in
(Alvarez Fernandez, Garcia Ordonez, Martinez Manzanares Gomez Huelgas, 2005, p. 6). Based off on
research (Alvarez Fernandez, et al, 2005) administered a study towards patients that were 65 or older
with advanced Dementia. Within the study were 67 patients whom had advanced Dementia in which
some had other complications such as kidney failure, diabetes, and heart failure. A constant repeated
appearance on some patients was Pneumonia which only complicated the situation. Initially, the
results showed that tube feeding reduces survival in patients with advanced Dementia as well as the
fact that it increases the risk of complications such as the ones mentioned, pneumonia and urinary tract
infections (Alvarez Fernandez, et al., 2005). With that being said this comes to show how at times
such situations lead to decision making which might be against what everyone is convinced is right
and wrong for a loved one, as seen in James situation and his decision against on tube feeding his
mother. At the end, medical care will only keep on changing within time and serious reflection should
be given to the goals to be sought in end of life care (Alvarez Fernandez, et al.,

  • 2. Physical Therapy And Mental Therapist Physical Therapist or known as PTs, Physical Therapist Assistants, and a Geriatric Physical Therapist all sound like great careers. They are all the same in a way just different job hours, different responsibilities, and different places of work. I would rather be a Physical Therapist than a PT assistant and a Geriatric Physical Therapist, because PTs get paid relatively well. Also I would like to do more than to assist a therapist. My research shows that a Physical Therapists duty is to restore maximal functional and independence to each individual patient. They evaluate, diagnose, and make a treatment plan to each individual patient s needs. It is offered to a wide variety of patients such as: Newborn babies, children, adults, and ... The patients would most likely have a smile on their face because the Physical therapist would help reduce their pain and make it go away for a while and help them be able to move with ease. They would also most likely have a smile on their face, because they would feel better after their visit. Compared to Geriatric physical therapy, they have to deal with all sorts of patients with arthritis, osteoporosis, cancer, Alzheimer s disease, hip and joint replacement, balance disorders and incontinence( Chicago: Institute for Career Research 31. I think that is a hard job after a long day of having to deal with all those if they are scheduled for the day or within the week, but I think that I would enjoy that more to be able to spend more time with the patient and help them out more often. • 3. art of china Essay examples China has the world s oldest living civilization. It s written history goes back almost 3,500 years, and the history told by it s artifacts and artwork goes back much farther. The oldest known works of Chinese art include pottery and jade carvings from the time of 5000 BC. Jade is a general term used to describe either jadeite or nephrite, known as true jade. It s composed of several minerals. It s smooth and rich in texture, but it s also extremely tough. It can be off white, or dark green, and sometimes has a reddish tint. Authentic jade is cool and never translucent. The philosopher Confucius described jade perfectly when he said: quot;It is soft, smooth and shining like intelligence. French porcelain was inspired by the delicate white work from the Ting dynasty, and Clue and white Dutch Delft porcelain was modeled after pottery from the Ming dynasty. Pottery started out as functional, but became more ornamental as the centires continued. the themes of the painted and carved porcelain were mostly nature scenes, but they were also from folklore. Artrists originaly molded the clay with their hands and set it in the sun to try. Eventualy they began to use a potter s wheel, and they used a glaze at the same time as the romans. During the Tang dynasty, Chinese pottery began to develop it s own distict style. They used the first colored glazes, and underglaze painting. The best pottery came from the time between the Sung dynasty and the Ming times, when the King hired officials to work in his court strictly as potters. When these artists made mistakes in their work (cracks or drips), they used the mistakes to create a picture, such as turning a crack into a tree, or a drip into a teardrop. Although painting was not China s first form of art, it is probably the most important and dominating form today. Chinese paintings have always tried to capture philosophy as well as details. 1,400 years ago, Hsieh Ho, made six basic laws for painting, which artists in China still follow today. They ... The politics of Mexico can be represented by three authors: Seeing Like a State by James Scott, Transitions to Democracy by Dankwart Rustow, and End of the Transition Paradigm by Thomas Carothers all exemplify the politics of the country of Mexico. Mexico can be described as a country de democratizing; it is still officially a democratic unity, but citizens are skeptical about completely trusting their government. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arrangement of cities is important to facilitate political control. In regards to the influence of politics towards a state, Rustow discusses the process to which democracy is developed. National unity is key, and is the foundation of the process (Rustow 1970: 350); Lacking national unity would mean that democracy would not be able to flourish, or even begin developing. By national unity, Rustow means that as a whole, a majority of citizens in a country not yet in a democracy, must agree on identification of their political status (Rustow 351). This would allow the transition to democracy to be more smoothly, and have minimal conflict since the majority of citizens would agree on their political identification for their country. Secondly, however, conflict is necessary, according to Rustow (Rustow 352). Conflict would eventually lead the opponents to end up with democracy, but Rustow still recognizes the possible failure of reaching democracy through conflict (Rustow 355). Conflict will force the parties involved to think of ways to secede from such turmoil, thus democracy could be a possible outcome. But, the possibility still exists that both parties will not reach a solution or that one party may win and lead the way towards a non democratic political system (Rustow 354). If the ... During the reign of the Roman Empire, the trade networks that connected Africa, Europe, and Asia flourished, however, after the fall of the Romans these trade routes saw a period of decline. This period of decline, especially on the Silk Road, was due mainly to the fact that there was no longer a regulatory body, such as the Roman Empire, to create a safe environment for merchants. However, in the 600 when the Muslim religion began to form and grow, their empire was able to provide some stability for the trade routes in Africa and Europe, as well as the most western parts of the Silk Road. The Muslim tradition of the Hajj, a trip that fulfills one of the five pillars of Islam, was able to increase trade in Saudi Arabia especially. Stability, and thus an increase in importance, was not truly achieved for the Silk Road until 1200 when the Mongols were able to conquer most of Asia. Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they were in. • 15. Effects Of Quebec Sovereignty The movement of Quebec sovereignty, if it were to be implemented, would have substantial consequences, not only on Quebec but also on Canada as a whole. For this reason, the movement should be challenged. It is ironic how much of Quebec advocates for independence, yet the effects would be economically detrimental. If Quebec succeeded in being granted independence, it would need to negotiate with the rest of Canada about assuming its share of federal debt (Ragan, Christopher). This additional debt, which would equate approximately to 154 billion dollars, would be equal to 92 percent of the province s gross domestic product (Ragan, Christopher). High school class registration was coming up and I still had no idea whether or not I wanted to do band or volleyball in high school. Being a 14 year old in 8th grade, I never thought that I would have to make such a colossal decision that would affect my life forever. I only had 2 more days to decide how I would present myself in the new world of high school popularity, and I had no idea whether I would choose the life of athletics or musical talents. My first instinct wanted to have the best of both worlds. Maybe in the fall I could be part of the volleyball team and in the spring I could pick up band and be involved in both organizations. I would be able to play the sport I loved and get to know the volleyball girls and then in the spring reconnect with my band friends while playing hard music and getting to know the band program in that way. In my heart I knew this was not going to happen, there was no way that I could have both athletics and band in my schedule, nor could I truly be happy with this decision. I would miss out on the best part of band, the marching and athletic part, and spring for volleyball is the time when the team bonds the most because of the awful hell of off season. However, authors sometimes have a purpose behind simple objects like these, events that occur, and/or the types of characters that are developed. When an author utilizes a recurrent symbol, character, or situation that is an instinctual expression of man s nature and experiences that are universal, the author is incorporating archetypes. All of these help prepare new drivers for the next stage of their life in transport. I personally went through all of this just a year ago, and I have seen how it can help prepare fairly new drivers for safe driving. After getting a license there are many limitations put on you, some only last for a few months, but others last for your whole high school career. Limitations like these help new drivers to learn good and lasting habits, so that they can keep themselves and others safe. Some of these laws; however, need to be updated and more defined, so that teenage drivers learn and understand how dangerous driving really is. One big limitation is not being able to have any passengers in the car unless they are related to you. This is a great law, because teens can become distracted by their friends, but one things that bothers me is this law is active for six months from getting your license, but after that you can have friends in your car. I just think that this shouldn t be so abrupt, going from no one in your car to a car full of your friends. I think that teens should, during their first six months, have checkpoints in which they can slowly accumulate more people in their car and become more used to having distractions, and being able to avoid them. I know most kids don t follow this law anyway, but for those who do follow this law, I believe it will greatly help them become more accustomed to driving with distracting people in their car. Another law that I think could be more enforced is the 40 hours of driving rule. This rule is that new drivers must drive at least 40 hours in the car before they get their license, 10 of those hours must be at night, while the other 30 is during the day. This rule isn t really very enforced, and is just passed by, but I think that there should be more strict rules put upon this, so that we know that new drivers are experienced enough to drive safely. Driving 40 hours is a long time, and that is a long time to be able to train your skills and make better habits to help your driving. If a new driver completes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Effects of Agricultural Production on Water Quality Introduction: Agriculture should be seen as an industry in the business of producing food and not as a natural system, and as in all industries it requires materials to be consumed in the production. If not all the materials are consumed in production they may become dispersed into the environment. This agricultural industry can be divided into two major areas, plant and animal production. The production of plants requires large amounts of water, between 200 and 500 liters per kg of product, and high mineral content in the form of fertilizers. Each hectare of land gets an input of around 100 kg nitrogen, 16 kg phosphorus, and 100 kg potassium. The effects on the environment are determent on the amount used and the farmer s skill in using the correct application timing and rates. What is not used in the plant production can be dispersed into the environment. The biggest product of plant production is feed for the production of animals. In this process most of the plant products are processed on the field leaving no containment or control in the process. This paper discusses the effects of agricultural production on water quality. This is caused as a result of pesticides and fertilizers used to enhanced production ending up in the water. The main focus will be on fertilizer, primarily nitrogen. The Role Of Class In The Gilded Age And Progressive Era Class To begin, class influenced the Gilded Age and Progressive Era in the changing working conditions as a response to industrialization. Class was also apparent in Gilded Age politics and in the changing political culture that foreshadowed the bureaucratic government of the Progressives. Middle Class Progressives played a vital role in America by seeking reform and influence among the upper and working class. Thus, class assumed a prominent role in influencing the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. Changing Working Conditions In the 19th century, there were several structural changes in the nature of work. These changes included deskilling of jobs, which led to the decline of the heroic artisan and economic depressions. All these factors contributed to tense strikes between workers and employers. During the Antebellum period, most white American workers were self reliant, but the nature of work and production began to shift after the Civil War, as the industrial workplace increased in size, immigration swelled, and the number of wage workers surpassed that of self employed men. Thus, heroic artisans experienced threats with the emergence of a class of permanent wage workers, which killed their republic dreams for American economic self sufficiency, property ownership, and self employment. Nevertheless, the real challenge for white wage Americans began in the 1870s and 1880s, as xenophobic anxieties of Chinese workers emerged. [1] Additionally, the late 19th century was ... I believe that physical training education is an important aspect of officer preparation. I have seen cases in which police officers have been able to escape death or save civilians from a similar fate only because they were physically fit and quick to react. For instance, I once saw a police officer dive in front of an oncoming bus to save a four year old boy from being run over. He was only able to save the boy s life because he was in good shape. Moreover, it is common to see police officers dodging bullets skillfully during public shootouts and apprehend criminals; this requires them to be in good physical shape. This shows that physical education training is very important in law enforcement. Lastly, physical education training seeks to improve the community as a whole.
