preservation of its natural curiosities or wonders and prohibiting wanton destruction of its fish and

It is 1775, and Mr. Jarvis Lorry is heading to Dover to meet Lucie Manette. He tells her that she isn t
an orphan. She has been told this from a very young age. He says that he will travel with her to Paris
to meet her father, who was released from the Bastille. Doctor Manette stays in the Defarge s wine
shop and has lost his way, but he starts to find it when he meets his daughter and goes back to London.
Five years later, Charles Darnay is tried in London on a charge of treason for providing English
secrets to the French and Americans during the American Revolution. The appearance of Mr. Sidney
Carton, who looks a lot like him, this and allows Charles to be released. Darnay, Mr. Carton and Mr.
Stryver all fall in love with Lucie Manette, who was an unwilling witness for the prosecution.
Although they all make an attempt to woo her, she favors Charles Darnay and marries him. Carton
comes to her house alone and declares that he expects no return of his love but he would do anything
for her or for anyone she loves. Darnay has ominously hinted to Doctor Manette that his identity is
concealed, and he tells his father in law on the morning of his wedding that he is a French nobleman
who has given up his title. In France, Darnay s uncle, Monseigneur, has been murdered in his bed for
crimes against the French people. This means that Darnay is next in line to inherit the aristocratic title,

Kaze No Denwa
It is April 11, 2011, and one month has passed since the great Japanese tsunami splintered the island.
In a small coastal village, a man parks his car at a distance and walks towards the only object in a
large field: Kaze No Denwa, the Phone of the Wind. Tears begin to well in his eyes as he feels the
gentle breeze wash over him. His shoes crunch the loose gravel underfoot. On this day, there is no one
else around.
In the middle of the field stands a white phone booth. It glows boldly in the bright afternoon sunlight.
The man walks along a winding path through low cut, manicured underbrush. He reaches the phone
booth, slides open the door, and enters. He takes his time, looks around, and finally picks up the
receiver from atop an old fashioned black rotary phone. He places a finger into a small circle at his
desired number, gently spins clockwise, releases, and repeats nine times. The phone in Kaze No
Denwa is connected to nothing; there is no electricity here, no dial tone even, but the man is not
surprised.
If you can hear me, he says, please listen carefully.
He stops, looks around the tiny phone box, and sobs, wiping the tears from his eyes with a sleeve.
Please, let me hear your voice say Daddy again. He covers his eyes with the sleeve and gently
whispers, I m so sorry I couldn t save you. I will forever be sorry and shamed. His head falls, his eyes
close.
His name is Satsuko. He has travelled far to visit Kaze No Denwa. The great tsunami has brought
havoc and, with it, many lives have gone to that place where spirits reside. Sadness has punctuated the
land, and Satsuko is in its midst. His face and demeanour are altered. Kaze No Denwa, the Phone of
the Wind is becoming well known. Its back story and sentiment have resonated with the people.
He read about it in a magazine published the year prior; the story of an old man s burning wish, long
before the tsunami, to communicate with his deceased relative. A phone booth was set in the middle of
a field tilled by hand and hoe for generations, a place for the old man to air his grief, where his breath
could catch the wind and set out across the field, down the cliff face, and across the vast blue Pacific.
Satsuko moves slowly.

The effects of technology with society has beneficial impacted the way we live. With technology is
providing many advantages, but also it has some disadvantages it has on children and adults. There is
little room for people that wish to live without technology, moreover than living the way they did in
the old days. Technology has its advantages, it s has changed the way people have communicated by
email, social media, the way traveling has improved.
Have you ever heard the saying Children are born with a cell phone in their hands? In today society,
children may not be born with technology in their hands, but they are introduced to it sometimes even
before they can even walk. Technology is so advanced than what it used to be, children as young as
babies can use it and learn from it. I am for my child using technology, to help learn and to expand her
mind. Everything that children see and interact with is involved with technology, for example:
cellphones, tablets, video games, and many other things.
In elementary school the students are mandatory to learn how to use the computers. This allows the
students to learn how to use the computer appropriately. Learning tools for school is at the student
figure tips. It s important for children to learn how to research topics, by using the web search.
Children also need to understand that not everything that they read is 100% accurate. Technology and

3 4 years old use internet. 45% of 3 4 years old have played video games, 37% of 3 4 years across
online content through YouTube. Children that are 3 4 years old spend an average of 8 hours 18
minutes a week online. Also 55% of 3 4 years old have access to a tablet. Children are more involved
in the technology now days then they were 15 20 years ago. Online technology and very young

The Seven Army Values
There are seven Army Values that all human beings should believe in. There are three values I see as
strengths, and as areas to improve in my personal life. Those values are Respect, Selfless Service, and
Honor. I will be writing about all three in this essay.
The first Army Value I see as a strength is Respect. I chose the Army Value respect because that s
something I would want someone to give me. In my eyes, when you first met someone, your first
