Manipulation In Macbeth
Although William Shakespeare created the play, Macbeth, to be a tragedy, the tragic hero can hardly
be considered to be one. For the entirety of one of Shakespeare s most magnificent works, Macbeth is
controlled and manipulated into committing atrocious acts that the witches and his wife desire. He is
powerless to their tricks and through their sorcery/cunning words and his own morals (or lack thereof)
sustain[s] the central paradox the heroic murderer (Cusick). Despite the fact that he laments the loss of
his king, Duncan, he still continues down his path of evil that only has one ending: his death. Although
Macbeth gains a few insights on his inner self, his lack of ability to resist manipulation, willingness to
kill, combined with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

International Policy Essay
III. Assessment
As such we have three possible policy options, ranging from nearly total neutrality, to partial insertion
into the conflict, and full out insertion into the conflict
Policy Option I:
Our first policy option is to continue the path we re now of lending only tentative support in the form
of our public position stating that Russia entering Crimea was a break of international law. And with
this not acting upon any real plan of moving forward.
Short Term:
In the short term, this policy may keep the peace for a short while. But by not enforcing international
law, we risk the United Nations facing many more violations, as not enforcing this break, tells the rest
of the world that the United Nations is a watchdog with now real ... Show more content on

Short Term:
The short term affects include the large scale operation costs to provide these weapons and training to
the Ukraine. With this we also risk backlash from Russia, from getting involved even covertly in this
conflict. The desire, would be to accomplish this without Russia knowing, which is rather unlikely,
and therefore, we would be risking whether they might retaliate against the United States. For this
plan to work, we need to assure the Ukraine of the strength of our alliance, and must be willing to
enter further into the conflict to support Ukraine in the backlash from Russia. As to not do so could
very well result in a Bay of Pigs situation.
Long Term:
As for the long term affects, our greatest fear would lay on what we risk by putting weapons in the
hands of the Ukrainian s. We ve seen several former Soviet states, with weapons supplied by Russia,
from using these weapons further and in conflicts we disapprove of. To keep this from happening a
close eye on the Ukraine would be required, once more draining resources further. In terms of long
term peace, this option is the most fitting, with this retaining our alliances and possibly getting our
desires in the end. Economically it is a larger blow than the first policy decision, but cheaper than full
military intervention. We also have a greater chance of having plausible deniability if we support a
counter insurgency plan over a full military action. This however

Character Analysis Of Lady Capulet In Romeo And Juliet
A north pole and a south pole of two magnets pull together in a tight line. It takes a hard pull to rip
them apart. It s common knowledge. Opposites attract. How could such polar opposites pull together
so tightly? Well, logically, opposites are able to make up for what one part may lack in. In William
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , a play around a tragic love between two teenagers, Lady Capulet,
elegant and distant mother, and the Nurse, vulgar but kind caretaker, serve as a dramatic foil in the
story gratifying each other s character by exhibiting opposite traits. Sophisticated, lady like and
traditional, Lady Capulet is the mother of Juliet and wife of rich Capulet. She is quite distant from
Juliet, despite caring deeply about her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In seconds, her chat flips to a joke her husband made about Juliet coming to age and falling on her
back . This shows that she is a person who is not quiet and is full of crude humor. She also cherishes
the moments she spent with Juliet as she thinks back to them only a person who cares for another will
do such things. Now, how these characters clash in their traits in almost all of their aspects. Lady
Capulet was the Lady of the house, so it s most likely that she wore fancy clothes and acted with
elegance. The Nurse, however, is more of a servant, so she would have worn simple clothing
compared to the Lady. Their way of talking are different as well. The Nurse makes many crude jokes
and sometimes can lack in vocabulary while Lady Capulet talks with authority and formality. See how
they both mourn Juliet: Nurse responds with, O woe! O woeful, woeful, woeful day / Most lamentable
day, most woeful day / O day, O day, O day, O hateful day! / O woeful day, O woeful day! (4.5. 50 55)
and the Lady cries, Accursed, unhappy, wretched, hateful day! / Most miserable hour that e er time
saw / In lasting labor of his pilgrimage. / But one, poor one, one poor and loving child, / But one thing
to rejoice and solace in, / And cruel death hath catched it from my sight! (4.5. 44 49) This emphasizes
the Nurse s vulgarity and Lady Capulet s sophistication. Speaking of

Essay about History of Home Schooling
History of Home Schooling
Before public schools emerged, children were educated in the home by their parents. They were taught
arithmetic, practical skills, and to read and write. Some wealthy families preferred hiring a tutor for
their children (Koetzsch, 1997). In the 1840s, prominent leaders such as Horace Mann lead a
movement to institute public schools in the United States (Thattai, 2001). These reformers argued that
public schools would create good citizens, unite society, and prevent crime and poverty. As a result of
their efforts, public elementary schools evolved in American society by the end of the 19th century.
Massachusetts was the first state to pass a compulsory attendance law, ruling that all children had to ...

Many parents followed Holt in his ideas about education and still home school their children based on
Holt s philosophy (Koetzsch, 1997).
The Christian home school movement began in the United States during the 1980 s. Conservative
Christian families believe in a literal translation of the bible and generally have conservative social
views. Public schools and American society are a threat to their beliefs and values. Conservative
Christians believe that public schools are anti religious, dominated by materialism, plagued by
violence, full of sexual promiscuity, and plagued by drug use. Approximately 80 percent of home
schooled children are Conservative Christians (Koetzsch, 1997). By the late 1980 s, many parents
were turning to home schooling as an alternate form of education. By 1998, all fifty states had laws
allowing home schooling (Koetzsch, 1997).
Advantages and Disadvantages to Home Schooling
There are many reasons why parents decide to home school their children. Home schoolers can be
divided into two main groups, ideologues and pedagogues. Ideologues home school their children for
religious purposes. Pedagogues home school because they believe they can teach their children better
than public or private institutions (Thomas, 1998). Parents decide to home school due to religious
reasons because parents have

Similarities Between Clowning Around And All The Different...
We have our own problems today, but nothing compared to the alternate realities that the authors here
have created. Although these are great stories, only one of the finalists can be better. The stories
Clowning Around and All the Different Kinds of Rats are the same in the sense that they have similar
messages. These two pieces of literature have their respective similarities and differences, but the big
topic here is a problem. Firstly, the similarities between the two pieces. The message of unity or lack
thereof is portrayed in both pieces. Passages like The people then started to divide themselves or What
set them apart was mostly age, which they were able to overcome show how important unity can be,
or how weak a lack of cooperation is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story Clowning Around is told in a broad, third person viewpoint. The story takes place in a
prolonged amount of time in 745 words, but there are quick transitions and quick elevation of tension,
but there is a sense of graduality that works out in the authors favor. The story jumps from the sun
rising to the as the people wake up multiple times. All the Different Kinds of Rats, however, has a
specific third person perspective and a small time frame. Only one day in 737 words, but the detail
from the newspapers and gum to a diminutive mattress this story isn t entirely pure story or action, but
provides more background and context. Lastly, the actual situations of the two stories are completely
different, but I think that the way that Clowning Around represents reality is quite brilliant, and the
social commentary of what can happen is so genius that you need to read between the lines to notice
it. All the Different Kinds of Rats, on the other hand, is a story about two poor brothers struggling
through everyday life, and while this does convey a deeper message, it doesn t feel like the author
made any comment on a relevant

How Did The Nile River Affect Ancient Egypt
The Nile River is the biggest river in the world with its 4,258 mile length. The Nile River gave power
he Egyptians because it let them get their money from farming and that led to making better weapons,
armor, big pyramids, which shows their power, and a big army which took over a lot of countries.
They also made a calendar because the Nile River had this paper like reed that they turned into paper
and they wrote down days, and months on it. Geographical features of the Nile River and the
Himalayas have impacted what the civilization will do for almost centuries. The Nile influenced on
what the Egyptians did because of the God that they made up for it and the resources by it. They got
the God of the Nile s name, Hapi, because of the occasional flooding that goes on there, they also call
him the Father of Gods because of how he nourishes the rich harvest they had. The farmer use this
river to grow their crops by using canals that they personally built or the workers built to get water to
them instead of having to go to the river and getting water with a bucket, but before all of this were

NFPA 13 Database Analysis
We have a parking garage that is approximately 15 ft high with concrete deck and structural beams up
to 24 in. depth forming bays of approximately 14 ft by 10 ft. The parking a garage has a series of car
hoists to allow for double occupancy of vehicles being stacked one over another. We are trying to
position the sprinklers to avoid clearance issues. What is the occupancy classification for this
application?
We have reviewed NFPA 13, 2013 edition that you indicated as the applicable standard as well as the
2016 edition. Our informal interpretation is that the occupancy classification is Extra Hazard (Group
2).
This was specifically addressed in the 2016 edition of the NFPA 13 standard. The 2013 edition does
not address car stackers. New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The base requirement is Section 8.6.6.1 that indicates that the clearance between the deflector and the
top of storage shall be 18 in. or greater. There are times where that is impractical where additional
sprinklers have to be provided. This would require sprinklers to be placed on the four corners of the
vehicle. Annex material A.8.5.6.1 addresses this clearance issue that states, The 18 in. clearance does
not apply to vehicles in concrete parking structures. Since that is located in Section 8.5 General, this
applies to all sprinkler types. Parking garages with low height ceilings and piping runs with dry pipe
systems create clearance issues for the sprinklers even without car stackers. This usually involves
higher vehicles such as large SUVs and vans. Even if the vehicle locations are initially specified and
sprinklers are placed accordingly, the striped parking locations can be moved at a later date and
impacting the sprinkler clearances. This application has robust concrete construction and considered
fire resistive. Thus, damage to the structure is not likely with sprinkler protection. The beams in this
structure also create bays that will aid in activation of the sprinklers and contain the heat plume. The
sprinkler system should be able to cool upper layer gas temperatures, prevent flashover, and control
the fire. Sprinkler systems are designed to control the fire and allow time for the responding fire
service to finish the job. Since this application has cars stacked that are not specifically addressed by
the standard in effect, this is worth discussing with the AHJ. As indicated by Section 1.5 Equivalency,
alternative arrangements are acceptable provided that the level of safety is not reduced. There is no
better source for supporting equivalency than a newer edition of the same installation

example for the children. It would affect both the Cookie Monster and the children. If we were to turn
the Cookie Monster into a vegetarian, there would be some good effects but also some bad effects as
well.
The very first good effect he would have is, he will lose weight. Because one of the most obvious
reason he is overweight is from eating too much cookies. Because of eating excessive cookies, he
always seems hyper and always wants to eat more. Since he only loves cookies, every time he wants
to eat, he would only eat cookies. Since cookies have a lot of sugar in them, he is less likely to be

Camera Shake
Don t let a blurry photo from camera shake ruin precious memories!
Photoshop is capable of repairing many flaws and errors, but unfortunately it can t fix everything!
Camera shake can wreak havoc on the sharpness of any image. Lacking a basic understanding of the
exposure triangle, many people fail to realize the significance of a steady hand in producing sharp
images. A thorough knowledge of the relationship between shutter speed, aperture, and ISO is
certainly the benchmark of a professional; hence, understanding the basics will go a long way in
improving your overall image quality.

However, a 50mm lens on a crop sensor has an angle of view of 31 degrees; thus, the subject appears
closer revealing more blur in the image. Think of it like this, when shooting with a crop sensor, the
image appears cropped due to the smaller sensor and therefore appears to zoom in closer on the
subject; thus, the same amount of camera movement makes the blur more visible in the cropped
image. Multiplying the focal length by the crop factor eliminates this effect in a crop sensor. Of
course, all of this is based on a rule, and I use that term rule loosely, that was developed years ago as a
guide in achieving an acceptable level of sharpness in an image.
What is acceptable sharpness in an image?
The topic of much debate, acceptable sharpness is certainly subjective. I think every photographer has
an opinion on the subject; nonetheless, I feel the best way to decide what is acceptable sharpness is to
view the photograph either on a computer screen or printed at approximately the same size as an 8x10.
Now, when viewed from the perspective of a person looking at the photograph hanging on a wall, if it
looks sharp, it s probably good enough for most of us.

America s Bitter Drill Analysis

among all factors of healthcare: access is restricted, the cost is unwarranted, and quality is
disproportionate to the costs. Political Politics is influenced by lobbying and the strongest lobbies are
the ones with the most amount of monetary backing. Political policy is influenced by money. Most
often the healthcare industry prioritizes the most expensive treatments, prescriptions, and devices

It is a term used by Asian media recently to refer to a hawkish new generation of Japanese
conservatives. They are distinguished from older Japanese conservatives in that they take a more
active view of the SDF ? Despite that, they enjoy fair popularity across the nation, especially with the
middle aged population?(Wikipedia, Neoconservatism (Japan)).
Shintaro Ishihara is the most well known neo con. Being an independent ?having shunned the Liberal
Democratic Party ?Ishihara may never become primer minister. But he has already done a great deal to
popularize Japanese nationalism, allowing many ordinary Japanese to embrace the cause of self
reliance without shame?(Matthews, Foreign Affairs). Listing North Korea s kidnapping of Japanese
citizens and Chinese official s entering of Japan s Beijing embassy in 2002, Ishihara strongly supports
the revision of Article 9 claiming that for Japan to be more independent, it must have a strong military.
As members of the post war generation, these neo cons view themselves as unrelated and, thus, not
responsible for the Japan s conquests and wartime history. They express unashamed national pride and
stress Japan s international role. Many of these modern day nationalists are the more forward looking
among the country s bureaucrats. They are also progressive corporate executives and successful new
entrepreneurs. They also see structural reform to be in their best interest. But though they have sound

Using Windows Uses A Flat Memory Model
Each process started on x86 version of Windows uses a flat memory model that ranges from
0x00000000 0xFFFFFFFF. The lower half of the memory, 0x00000000 0x7FFFFFFF, is reserved for
user space code. While the upper half of the memory, 0x80000000 0xFFFFFFFF, is reserved for the
kernel code. The Windows operating system also doesn t use the segmentation (well actually it does,
because it has to), but the segment table contains segment descriptors that use the entire linear address
space. There are four segments, two for user and two for kernel mode, which describe the data and
code for each of the modes. But all of the descriptors actually contain the same linear address space.
This means they all point to the same segment in memory that is 0xFFFFFFFF bits long, proving that
there is no segmentation on Windows systems. Let s execute the dg 0 30 command to display the first
7 segment descriptors that can be seen on the picture below: Notice that the 0008, 0010, 0018 and
0020 all start at base address 0x00000000 and end at address 0xFFFFFFFF: They represent the data
and code segments of user and kernel mode. This also proves that the segmentation is actually not
used by the Windows system. Therefore we can use the terms virtual address space and linear address
space interchangeably, because they are the same in this particular case. Because of this, when talking
about user space code being loaded in the virtual address space from 0x00000000 to 0x7FFFFFFF, we

Similarities Between Crocodile Dundee And Red Dog Mateship
Good morning/Afternoon Ms Phillips and fellow peers, today this speech is going to be examining
how mateship is represented within the two films, Crocodile Dundee and Red Dog . Mateship has
been developed over many years through the actions of loyalty and respect that individuals have
demonstrated. Within both films, all the characters show characteristics of mateship when they protect
and look after each other. This speech will argue how mateship is positively portrayed through the
actions from the characters.
The Aussie icon, mateship, has evolved and developed over hundreds of years as Australians have
portrayed the characteristics in reality and through movies. Crocodile Dundee is an Australian comedy

Food Inc Rhetorical Analysis

Food Inc. Portrayal of Monsanto
In 2009 a movie by the name of Food Inc. was released that challenged the production of food we eat.
The movie examines everything from the science of seeds all the way through the consumption of the
food, the food s often negative effects on the body. The movie ends with the line You can change the
world with every bite . This quote embodies the heart behind movie that change starts with the
individual, and how they make food choices. This sort of change that Food Inc. invokes implies that
top down change that the consumer can bring about change to the seed level. Food Inc. challenges the
processes that allow companies like Monsanto to feed the world. We must understand how media like
Food Inc. effects this mission to feed the world by examining the movie, the history of Monsanto as a
company, and looking at the response from both sides to these challenges made in the public square to
better combat and address issues brought forth.
While inspirational to some Food Inc. also experienced backlash from critics. To the observer Food
Inc. seems very one sided, but it mentions multiple times that it extended offers to be interviewed to
Smithfield, Monsanto, Perdue and Tyson companies (sanfran). These were among the named
companies represented in a negative light in the movie. Food Inc. was a production of Participant
Media and River Road Entertainment, distributed by Magnolia Pictures (PBS). According to

I love you for your kindness. On countless occasions you would admit to me that you were helping

How Did Steel Change Society
Steel has done many incredible things and taken mankind further than we could have ever dreamed. It
is used in almost every metal object that we Americans use on a daily basis, and it would be almost
impossible to find one without it. Not only that, but steel is also used in many other things throughout
America that would not be possible without it. The development of steel was a revolutionary pivotal
point in the history of the United States, because it is involved in the creation of steel appliances and
objects, buildings and skyscrapers, and the railroad, which was the backbone of early America. To
know how steel impacted the world and changed society for the better, you must first know the history
of it and how it came to be. Steel is an alloy of iron mixed with primarily carbon and a small amount
of other tiny elements. It dates back to have been created almost 4000 years ago ... Show more content

Lord Of The Flies Lomb Song Analysis
This song depicts how the boys felt when they first arrived at the island. They saw that there were no
adults and were excited about all the fun they were planning to have together and without parental
supervision. The song paints an island in a positive light saying that it s a paradise, just like the boy s
original fantasies.
Welcome to the Jungle Guns and Roses
This song relates to Lord of the Flies by showing how the boys slowly became more and more like
animals. In the beginning, things were great. The boys had fun, swam, and ate fruit under Ralph s
leadership. But as Jack s obsession with hunting became unmanageable and he replaced himself as the
new leader of the new tribe , the boys became more and more savage. This chaos and destructive
behavior is modeled in Welcome to the Jungle by lyrics such as welcome to the jungle, it gets worse
here everyday, Ya learn to act like an animal.
Mob song Beauty and the Beast
The mob song from the movie Beauty and the Beast is very similar to the boys ritualistic hunting
dance. They both have a leader Gaston/Jack who urge on the mob to kill the beast.
Gaston and Jack understand that fear can perpetuate a mob mentality that is easily controlled through
a form of frightened excitement and through the absence of light. That is why both Simon and Piggy
both died at the hand of the tribe. The Mob Song uses imagery of darkness and shadow, much like the
novel and both a fueled by a frenzied excitement from the mobs.
Ralph A character Sketch
One of the main characters in Lord of the Flies, Ralph is one of the oldest bigguns on the island. His
good looks and confident demeanor quickly makes him the obvious leader to the boys. Although he
lacks Piggy s apparent intelligence, Ralph is relatively logical and responsible, with sound judgment
and a firm moral scale. But, like the other boys, he can fall into the same entraping instincts that affect
the other boys, as demonstrated by his part Simon s murder.
Regardless, Ralph remains the most civilized character throughout the novel, save for Piggy. At the
end of the novel, it was somewhat tragic because Ralph finally understands that evil lives inside of all
the boys. This leaves him depressed

The Future Of Autonomous Cars
Introduction Autonomous cars are going to be a reality on people s routines in a near future when the
first units starts to being sold, however the unmanned technology is far from being a recent discovery.
Researches have been conducted on the past 90 years when the american army started to assembly
flying bombs equipped with gyroscopes and barometers as components of a navigation system. Ever
since, the unmanned technology has evolved in a tremendous way, and after the first GPS satellite
launch in 1978, vehicles can rely on a navigation systems that is reliable and has coverage all over the
globe. The air transportation system has taken advantage of this technology for navigation and air
traffic control as the demand for this kind of transport has increased and so did the number of
airplanes in the sky. The automatic pilot is enabled as every airliner reaches the cruise altitude, which
makes it a semi autonomous vehicle that relies on sensor and GPS navigation to reach it s destination.
Autonomous cars nowadays are being developed by companies such as Google, Audi, Toyota, General
Motors and others, and prototypes are now being tested and improved before the introduction on the
market. Classification Each project carried out by the Industry today has a level of automation.

The Western Symbols Of The Stagecoach And American...
The land is bare, an empty terrain sparsely populated with grass and shrubs. The sounds of hooves and
galloping fill the air. Soon, cowboys and their horses ride into the scene towards the viewer with
triumphant music permeating the background. A cloud of dust follows their movement through the

this is the opening of the movie Stagecoach, many popular Western films have followed similar
opening scenes containing the stereotypical desert landscape with cowboys heroically riding their
horses. Western films, such as the Stagecoach, gained national popularity, making over millions of
dollars in sales. Their popularity serves as justification for why these Western ideals affect the nation s
identity and image. Richard Slotkin described this occurrence of Western movies influencing
American characteristics as the Myth of the Frontier, with myth meaning a body of tales, fables, and

Chinese Culture And Cultural Differences In Hong Kong
If I was assigned a position in Hong Kong, the first step would be to learn or improve in the native
language. English and Mandarin are considered to be the two official languages in Hong Kong,
therefore, I will be at a great advantage since business in Hong Kong is preferably conducted in
English. Still, I feel that it would be appropriate for me to be familiar with basic phrases and words in
Cantonese, which is widely spoken by residents. In business, communication is crucial and being that
I am from a different culture and country, it s obvious that misunderstandings can take place, which as
a result can make my assignment dreadful. This is why I would also make it my priority to do
extensive research on Hong Kong and Asia, to learn and understand the cultural differences and
customs that take place in Asian businesses, which can include authority, office relationships, privacy,
uniform or dress code and even the personal status of employees... For example, in Hong Kong, and
many other Asian countries, greetings are made by bowing or with a handshake. Elders and those in
high positions are usually greeted first and tend to not bow in return. Some may deem this
disrespectful, but in many Asian countries, it s the norm. On the other hand, bowing in America is
unheard of (unless the businesses involved have an Asian background) and a firm handshake is
enough. Although people tend to first shake hands with those in higher power, regardless of status or
age, everyone is

the xylophone brought out the melodies in each piece. Another family of instruments that caught my
attention was the low brass section. I enjoyed this when the intense moment of a song came on
because the low brass instruments emphasized the dark moments of the intense sections of each song.
This emphasis brought out strong emotions out of me towards the songs. There were 5 guest
conductors during this concert, but each one had their unique style of conducting their songs. All five
conductors wore tuxedos with a white bowtie. When the conductor approached his podium, the band

  • 2. Manipulation In Macbeth Although William Shakespeare created the play, Macbeth, to be a tragedy, the tragic hero can hardly be considered to be one. For the entirety of one of Shakespeare s most magnificent works, Macbeth is controlled and manipulated into committing atrocious acts that the witches and his wife desire. He is powerless to their tricks and through their sorcery/cunning words and his own morals (or lack thereof) sustain[s] the central paradox the heroic murderer (Cusick). Despite the fact that he laments the loss of his king, Duncan, he still continues down his path of evil that only has one ending: his death. Although Macbeth gains a few insights on his inner self, his lack of ability to resist manipulation, willingness to kill, combined with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has lost everyone whom he holds dear. Lady Macbeth dies due to illness over the death of King Duncan, he has killed his best friend, Banquo, and to top it off the majority of the thanes hold no respect or love for him. He regrets several of his recent decisions however, when his castle is under siege he pushes those thoughts to the back of his mind as a good commander must. Going into the battle he still believes he is invulnerable due to the witches prophecies. Therefore, he has complete confidence that is demolished when Macduff claims the he was from his mother s womb untimely ripp d. • 3. International Policy Essay III. Assessment As such we have three possible policy options, ranging from nearly total neutrality, to partial insertion into the conflict, and full out insertion into the conflict Policy Option I: Our first policy option is to continue the path we re now of lending only tentative support in the form of our public position stating that Russia entering Crimea was a break of international law. And with this not acting upon any real plan of moving forward. Short Term: In the short term, this policy may keep the peace for a short while. But by not enforcing international law, we risk the United Nations facing many more violations, as not enforcing this break, tells the rest of the world that the United Nations is a watchdog with now real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Short Term: The short term affects include the large scale operation costs to provide these weapons and training to the Ukraine. With this we also risk backlash from Russia, from getting involved even covertly in this conflict. The desire, would be to accomplish this without Russia knowing, which is rather unlikely, and therefore, we would be risking whether they might retaliate against the United States. For this plan to work, we need to assure the Ukraine of the strength of our alliance, and must be willing to enter further into the conflict to support Ukraine in the backlash from Russia. As to not do so could very well result in a Bay of Pigs situation. Long Term: As for the long term affects, our greatest fear would lay on what we risk by putting weapons in the hands of the Ukrainian s. We ve seen several former Soviet states, with weapons supplied by Russia, from using these weapons further and in conflicts we disapprove of. To keep this from happening a close eye on the Ukraine would be required, once more draining resources further. In terms of long term peace, this option is the most fitting, with this retaining our alliances and possibly getting our desires in the end. Economically it is a larger blow than the first policy decision, but cheaper than full military intervention. We also have a greater chance of having plausible deniability if we support a counter insurgency plan over a full military action. This however ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Character Analysis Of Lady Capulet In Romeo And Juliet A north pole and a south pole of two magnets pull together in a tight line. It takes a hard pull to rip them apart. It s common knowledge. Opposites attract. How could such polar opposites pull together so tightly? Well, logically, opposites are able to make up for what one part may lack in. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , a play around a tragic love between two teenagers, Lady Capulet, elegant and distant mother, and the Nurse, vulgar but kind caretaker, serve as a dramatic foil in the story gratifying each other s character by exhibiting opposite traits. Sophisticated, lady like and traditional, Lady Capulet is the mother of Juliet and wife of rich Capulet. She is quite distant from Juliet, despite caring deeply about her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In seconds, her chat flips to a joke her husband made about Juliet coming to age and falling on her back . This shows that she is a person who is not quiet and is full of crude humor. She also cherishes the moments she spent with Juliet as she thinks back to them only a person who cares for another will do such things. Now, how these characters clash in their traits in almost all of their aspects. Lady Capulet was the Lady of the house, so it s most likely that she wore fancy clothes and acted with elegance. The Nurse, however, is more of a servant, so she would have worn simple clothing compared to the Lady. Their way of talking are different as well. The Nurse makes many crude jokes and sometimes can lack in vocabulary while Lady Capulet talks with authority and formality. See how they both mourn Juliet: Nurse responds with, O woe! O woeful, woeful, woeful day / Most lamentable day, most woeful day / O day, O day, O day, O hateful day! / O woeful day, O woeful day! (4.5. 50 55) and the Lady cries, Accursed, unhappy, wretched, hateful day! / Most miserable hour that e er time saw / In lasting labor of his pilgrimage. / But one, poor one, one poor and loving child, / But one thing to rejoice and solace in, / And cruel death hath catched it from my sight! (4.5. 44 49) This emphasizes the Nurse s vulgarity and Lady Capulet s sophistication. Speaking of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about History of Home Schooling History of Home Schooling Before public schools emerged, children were educated in the home by their parents. They were taught arithmetic, practical skills, and to read and write. Some wealthy families preferred hiring a tutor for their children (Koetzsch, 1997). In the 1840s, prominent leaders such as Horace Mann lead a movement to institute public schools in the United States (Thattai, 2001). These reformers argued that public schools would create good citizens, unite society, and prevent crime and poverty. As a result of their efforts, public elementary schools evolved in American society by the end of the 19th century. Massachusetts was the first state to pass a compulsory attendance law, ruling that all children had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many parents followed Holt in his ideas about education and still home school their children based on Holt s philosophy (Koetzsch, 1997). The Christian home school movement began in the United States during the 1980 s. Conservative Christian families believe in a literal translation of the bible and generally have conservative social views. Public schools and American society are a threat to their beliefs and values. Conservative Christians believe that public schools are anti religious, dominated by materialism, plagued by violence, full of sexual promiscuity, and plagued by drug use. Approximately 80 percent of home schooled children are Conservative Christians (Koetzsch, 1997). By the late 1980 s, many parents were turning to home schooling as an alternate form of education. By 1998, all fifty states had laws allowing home schooling (Koetzsch, 1997). Advantages and Disadvantages to Home Schooling There are many reasons why parents decide to home school their children. Home schoolers can be divided into two main groups, ideologues and pedagogues. Ideologues home school their children for religious purposes. Pedagogues home school because they believe they can teach their children better than public or private institutions (Thomas, 1998). Parents decide to home school due to religious reasons because parents have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Similarities Between Clowning Around And All The Different... We have our own problems today, but nothing compared to the alternate realities that the authors here have created. Although these are great stories, only one of the finalists can be better. The stories Clowning Around and All the Different Kinds of Rats are the same in the sense that they have similar messages. These two pieces of literature have their respective similarities and differences, but the big topic here is a problem. Firstly, the similarities between the two pieces. The message of unity or lack thereof is portrayed in both pieces. Passages like The people then started to divide themselves or What set them apart was mostly age, which they were able to overcome show how important unity can be, or how weak a lack of cooperation is. ... The base requirement is Section 8.6.6.1 that indicates that the clearance between the deflector and the top of storage shall be 18 in. or greater. There are times where that is impractical where additional sprinklers have to be provided. This would require sprinklers to be placed on the four corners of the vehicle. Annex material A.8.5.6.1 addresses this clearance issue that states, The 18 in. clearance does not apply to vehicles in concrete parking structures. Since that is located in Section 8.5 General, this applies to all sprinkler types. Parking garages with low height ceilings and piping runs with dry pipe systems create clearance issues for the sprinklers even without car stackers. This usually involves higher vehicles such as large SUVs and vans. Even if the vehicle locations are initially specified and sprinklers are placed accordingly, the striped parking locations can be moved at a later date and impacting the sprinkler clearances. This application has robust concrete construction and considered fire resistive. Thus, damage to the structure is not likely with sprinkler protection. The beams in this structure also create bays that will aid in activation of the sprinklers and contain the heat plume. The sprinkler system should be able to cool upper layer gas temperatures, prevent flashover, and control the fire. Sprinkler systems are designed to control the fire and allow time for the responding fire service to finish the job. Since this application has cars stacked that are not specifically addressed by the standard in effect, this is worth discussing with the AHJ. Think of it like this, when shooting with a crop sensor, the image appears cropped due to the smaller sensor and therefore appears to zoom in closer on the subject; thus, the same amount of camera movement makes the blur more visible in the cropped image. Multiplying the focal length by the crop factor eliminates this effect in a crop sensor. Of course, all of this is based on a rule, and I use that term rule loosely, that was developed years ago as a guide in achieving an acceptable level of sharpness in an image. What is acceptable sharpness in an image? The topic of much debate, acceptable sharpness is certainly subjective. The lower half of the memory, 0x00000000 0x7FFFFFFF, is reserved for user space code. While the upper half of the memory, 0x80000000 0xFFFFFFFF, is reserved for the kernel code. The Windows operating system also doesn t use the segmentation (well actually it does, because it has to), but the segment table contains segment descriptors that use the entire linear address space. There are four segments, two for user and two for kernel mode, which describe the data and code for each of the modes. But all of the descriptors actually contain the same linear address space. This means they all point to the same segment in memory that is 0xFFFFFFFF bits long, proving that there is no segmentation on Windows systems. Let s execute the dg 0 30 command to display the first 7 segment descriptors that can be seen on the picture below: Notice that the 0008, 0010, 0018 and 0020 all start at base address 0x00000000 and end at address 0xFFFFFFFF: They represent the data and code segments of user and kernel mode. It is used in almost every metal object that we Americans use on a daily basis, and it would be almost impossible to find one without it. • 31. Lord Of The Flies Lomb Song Analysis This song depicts how the boys felt when they first arrived at the island. They saw that there were no adults and were excited about all the fun they were planning to have together and without parental supervision. The song paints an island in a positive light saying that it s a paradise, just like the boy s original fantasies. Welcome to the Jungle Guns and Roses This song relates to Lord of the Flies by showing how the boys slowly became more and more like animals. In the beginning, things were great. The boys had fun, swam, and ate fruit under Ralph s leadership. But as Jack s obsession with hunting became unmanageable and he replaced himself as the new leader of the new tribe , the boys became more and more savage. This chaos and destructive behavior is modeled in Welcome to the Jungle by lyrics such as welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here everyday, Ya learn to act like an animal. Mob song Beauty and the Beast The mob song from the movie Beauty and the Beast is very similar to the boys ritualistic hunting dance. They both have a leader Gaston/Jack who urge on the mob to kill the beast. Gaston and Jack understand that fear can perpetuate a mob mentality that is easily controlled through a form of frightened excitement and through the absence of light. That is why both Simon and Piggy both died at the hand of the tribe. The Mob Song uses imagery of darkness and shadow, much like the novel and both a fueled by a frenzied excitement from the mobs. Ralph A character Sketch One of the main characters in Lord of the Flies, Ralph is one of the oldest bigguns on the island. His good looks and confident demeanor quickly makes him the obvious leader to the boys. Although he lacks Piggy s apparent intelligence, Ralph is relatively logical and responsible, with sound judgment and a firm moral scale. But, like the other boys, he can fall into the same entraping instincts that affect the other boys, as demonstrated by his part Simon s murder. Regardless, Ralph remains the most civilized character throughout the novel, save for Piggy. At the end of the novel, it was somewhat tragic because Ralph finally understands that evil lives inside of all the boys. This leaves him depressed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Future Of Autonomous Cars Introduction Autonomous cars are going to be a reality on people s routines in a near future when the first units starts to being sold, however the unmanned technology is far from being a recent discovery. Researches have been conducted on the past 90 years when the american army started to assembly flying bombs equipped with gyroscopes and barometers as components of a navigation system. Western films, such as the Stagecoach, gained national popularity, making over millions of dollars in sales. Their popularity serves as justification for why these Western ideals affect the nation s identity and image. Richard Slotkin described this occurrence of Western movies influencing American characteristics as the Myth of the Frontier, with myth meaning a body of tales, fables, and fantasies that help people make sense of their history and capture their attention. English and Mandarin are considered to be the two official languages in Hong Kong, therefore, I will be at a great advantage since business in Hong Kong is preferably conducted in English. Still, I feel that it would be appropriate for me to be familiar with basic phrases and words in Cantonese, which is widely spoken by residents. In business, communication is crucial and being that I am from a different culture and country, it s obvious that misunderstandings can take place, which as a result can make my assignment dreadful. For example, in Hong Kong, and many other Asian countries, greetings are made by bowing or with a handshake. Elders and those in high positions are usually greeted first and tend to not bow in return. Some may deem this disrespectful, but in many Asian countries, it s the norm.
