The, The Bark, And Birds Hell
Upon entering The Met museum, I was overwhelmed by the enormous sculptures and detailed
paintings that filled each gallery. Though there were many galleries, the one that captured my attention
and led to be the focus of my paper is the Max Beckmann gallery. Max Beckmann in New York sheds
light on his connection with New York City. The art gallery displayed fourteen works in which
Beckmann created during his time living in New York. The gallery included many different forms of
art works such as, self portraits, mythical, expressionist interiors, robust, colorful portraits, portraits of
women, performers, and landscapes. Of the fourteen works, the three that I will focus on in this paper
is the Self Portrait in Tuxedo, The Bark, and Birds Hell. Max Beckman was a German painter,
printmaker, craftsman, and sculptor. Beckmann enjoyed great success, receiving official honors and
awards. His success suddenly reached a turning point when Adolf Hitler came into power. Hitler
resented Modern Art, and led in the abolishment of Modern Art in Germany. Shortly after, Beckmann
was disliked by the Nazi Government and was often referred to as a Cultural Bolshevik . Cultural
Bolshevism was a term used by Nazi Germany to attack Modernist Movements in the arts. After
enduring such rejection, Mac Beckmann focused his experience of Modern life into Expressive
images with an intensity of emotion and symbolism.
During the 1920s, Beckmann became one of the main artists associated with Neue

Comparing Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers
Compare and Contrast Essay
Susan Glaspell lived from 1876 1948. She was the cofounder of the first modern American theater
company called the Provincetown Players, along with having been a pulitzer prize winning
playwright, an actress, a novelist, and a journalist, so she was kind of a jack of all trades, meaning she
had many different talents or skills. Glaspell was raised in Iowa, and therefore she set place many of
her pieces of writing in the state of Iowa. Trifles is a one act play that is based on a murder trial that
Glaspell covered as a young reporter. A Jury of Her Peers is the short story version of this famous
play. There are several similarities and differences between the play Trifles and the short story A Jury
of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I stated above, Trifles only gives the reader or viewer knowledge from the outside looking in. The
short story A Jury of Her Peers doesn t give the reader first person feelings and experiences, however,
the narrator of the story does give the reader any thoughts or feelings of the characters that may be
needed to better understand the story. The narrator is an important part in the change between the play
and the story. The narrator gives us information about each family, how people are related, what things
look like, what the weather is like, and many more small details that we would not have known
otherwise. For example, when arriving at the Wright house, the narrator says It looked very lonesome
on this cold March morning. This short sentence gives the reader so much information that we don t
know about in the play. We now know that it is in the morning when they are going to examine the
situation, and that its in March, so it s kind of cold still coming out of winter. We also know that the
Wright house looks lonely. This picture that the narrator puts in the readers head is one that sets the
tone for the whole story. One that we don t fully get until halfway through

That s all that I can see as I run as fast as I can. At this point, I have no idea what I m doing or where I

Small yet violent swirls of wind smash into my body out of nowhere and almost forcing me to stop,

Higher Education in Pakistan vs. the UK
The state of higher education: Pakistan in comparison with the UK
After partition, Pakistan, an independent state came into being in 1947 and inherited a colonial
university system, created by the British. The fundamental features of this system during that era were
that it was under financed, bureaucratic, and mediocre and was teaching rather than research oriented.
Just then, the country had a poorly educated population and few schools or universities. Even though
the education system has expanded to a great extent since then, debate continues about the curriculum,
and, apart from a few elite institutions, quality remains a critical concern of educators till date.
In Pakistan, higher education is referred to as the education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In his opinion, Pakistan cannot even match Tehran University which is a country cut off from the
world for over 25 years.
Moving on, earlier this year (2010), at a formal meeting, in Quaid e Azam University, professors voted
to make life easier for themselves and the Academic Council, which is the key decision making body
of the university, decided that from now on no applicant for a university teaching position would be
required to give an open seminar or lecture as a component of the selection process. Open lectures
were noted by the council as illegal, unjust and a strategy for victimizing the teachers. This was
unbelievable as public presentations allow an applicant s subject capability and competence to
communicate to be assessed by the academic community.
Another major decision that also brought a dramatic blow to the future of QAU and to Pakistan s other
universities as well was taken when the council voted that QAU s PhD candidates did not have to
conform to international standards and decided to overturn its earlier acceptance of the HEC s
requirement that the international GRE subject tests must be passed by a entrant prior to the grant of a
PhD degree.
If we look at the other side of the story, there are some bright spots too. Institutions like Lahore
University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and National University of Science and Technology
(NUST) are a few institutes of the new generation of Pakistani

How Did William Harvey Influence The English Renaissance...
The Renaissance was a period where innovation, inventions and discoveries were made. Curiosity laid
the foundation for many great Renaissance Change Makers. There was no exception for the physician
named William Harvey. William Harvey had a significant influence on the English Renaissance
society, in the areas of anatomy and physiology as he disproved a 1,500 year old theory of the
circulation of the blood and supplied valid evidence for his theory in the form of a book. Whether he
knew it or not, William Harvey s career began when he was only ten years old. At this age, he was
first introduced to medicine at Kings College Canterbury (Silverman, 2007, para. 13). He then
followed his father s dream and pursued in the medical field. This resulted ... Show more content on

One of these was Exercitatio Anatomica de Motu Cordis et Sanguinis in Animalibus which translates
to On the Motion of the Heart and Blood in Animals. He first published it in Frankfurt, 1628 while he
was a lecturer at the Royal College of Physicians. It is believed that there was no original copy of the
book as it was produced through mass production and so many copies exist in museums today.
However, a copy of the original title page of the book is held in the Science Museum, London.
William Harvey s book on wasn t specifically created for someone. Instead, curiosity about the body
resulted in him recording his findings in a logical form. However, a Greek physician by the name of
Galen influenced many Renaissance physicians at the time, which made the possible success of his
theory difficult, as patients deserted his practice and the medical community questioned his success.
William Harvey shows a view of The Motion of the Heart and Blood in animals that reflects
knowledge he had gained and the support of Kings Charles and James 1 through publicity and valued
opinions. Harvey s intention was to inform the readers and fellow physicians that the blood flowed
around the body, which is what he

Establish 50% protected areas
The Alberta Government should legislatively protect at least 50% of its public forest lands from
industrial development. Protected areas should be developed and co managed with Aboriginal peoples.
Implement a wetlands and biodiversity offset policy
Require establishment of biodiversity offsets for all oil sands development to offset impacts to all
habitat types. To ensure a net positive environmental benefit and address existing cumulative effects,
offsets should be established with a 3:1 offset ratio three hectares of land should be conserved or
restored for every hectare of new disturbance that occurs within the Boreal Forest Natural Region.

Protect the Athabasca River from water withdrawals during low flow periods
Alberta Environment should complete a water management plan that identifies a science based
Ecosystem Base Flow (EBF) for the lower Athabasca River, as a low flow threshold below which all
water withdrawals would cease. The EBF should be legally enforceable and all water permits issued
by the Alberta Government at any one time should be accountable to meet that EBF. In the interim, the
low flow threshold for the lower Athabasca River should be at least 100 m3/s.
Define sustainable groundwater yield

Seymour kills himself as a victim of his own inability to reconnect to real society after his wartime

that Seymour may completely lose control of himself (Salinger 2), we see how people surrounding
Seymour are concerned for his mental health due to a host of his previous erratic behaviors. These
include funny business with the trees [when driving] , that business with the window [he broke it] ,
and the horrible things he said to Granny about her plans for passing away (Salinger 2), which when
compounded, clearly demonstrates Seymour s struggle to reconnect with society. His disconnection is

Homophobia In Dude YouRe A Fag Pdg
This instability also transfers to the interpersonal relations between a teacher and their student. One
example with Pascoe gives to prove that homophobia permeates student teacher interactions, also
shows the vulnerability of teacher authority. Pascoe describes a conversation between two teachers;
Mr. Ford, the art teacher explains that one of his students, Huey, had flipped him off (2007, p. 36). In
response, Mr. Ford told him You should be doing that to girls, not to me (Pascoe, 2007, p. 36). Pascoe
understands this as Mr. Ford calling out Huey s masculinity, telling him that Huey s fuck you, which
Mr. Ford interpreted sexually in order to teach him a lesson, should be directed at girls (2007, p. 36).
This is a threat to Huey s masculinity because Mr. Ford is implying that Huey meant the gesture as a
sexual come on to another man. This is an example of the larger pattern of homophobia and
heteronormativity which Pascoe tries to lay out throughout Dude, You re a Fag. Again, I agree with
Pascoe, but believe that her analysis could go further. She argues that homophobia and heterosexual
norms permeate student teacher interactions, but fails to mention the teacher s position of authority as
a reason for this. In this example, Huey challenged Mr. Ford s authority by flipping him off. Then,
instead of causing a scene and losing the friendly student teacher rapport that Mr. Ford worked to
cultivate, Mr. Ford chose to minimize the situation by using a joke to enact

His vesture was dabbled in blood and his broad brow, with all the features of the face, was besprinkled
with the scarlet horror. (Poe, 5) As the Red Death ravaged through time the question remains, what
would happen now? With today s booming populations and frequent trade routes being open 24/7
plagues and other wide spread disease could quickly and effectively wipe out our nation. This
pestilence was so powerful that it spread from the ill to the healthy like fire among dry or oily
materials. It was so bad that it could be communicated not only through speaking or associating with
the sick, but even by touching their clothing or anything else they had touched. (Boccaccio, 2) With
the help of FEMA and other organization though it could be argued that the human population could
survive. As a bacterial disease, plague can be treated with antibiotics, and can be prevented from
spreading by prompt identification, treatment and management of human cases. (CDC, 6) We see

One of the prevailing theories about why primates have such good color vision is that it allowed them
to pick out fruits against the green backgrounds of forests and jungles (Osorio et al., 2004). New
World monkey color vision is an evolutionary puzzle because the same evolutionary pressures for
finding food should act similarly on both sexes.
According to van Roosmalen (1985), it is a hypothesized that dominant female spider monkeys lead
the group to food sources, suggesting why there may be a difference in these animals due to their
ecology. As there is only one study to date about spider monkey color vision and it was based on one
male and one female monkey, this study will add to our knowledge about whether spider monkeys

A Summary Of La Ville Lumiere
La Ville Lumiere
The dark specter of the cool night spread across the sky, while the alluring orange color of the sunset
disappeared as nonchalantly as it came. A mixed medley of harmonious sounds streamed through the
night from the violins. Music echoed from every street corner, awakening life, springing off the Eiffel
Tower to Notre Dame and floating through the Arc de Triomphe. Soon, the people, scattered like trees
in a desolate country, grew into a huge crowd like a lush green woodland. Noises of people shrilling,
teenagers laughing and adults murmuring transpired from the crowd. The lads held their demoiselles
hands lost in their world of immortal love. Eventually, everyone slipped into their dancing shoes. The
aromas rose from the hot sizzling gourmet cuisine and cigarette smoke to quickly permeate the air.
The streets shone with dazzling lights as bright as daytime, as the astounding Eiffel Tower took form
in its enticing and glowing festive lights of amber, standing in its own elegance, like a gem on Champ
de Mars. La Ville Lumiere... here it is; Paris, the splendid metropolis, the home of the lovers and the
city that speaks the language of love.

Police Job Fair Essay
Introduction: (option 7)
As students, we sometime get burnt out during mid semester, due dates are forgotten, test are not
studied for and ultimately grade begin to decline. It is not because we are lazy or potentially trying to
fail ourselves, but because we sometime begin to lose interest. Therefore, once in a while it is nice to
refresh our interest with things such as guest speakers or events. On November 15th I had the
opportunity to attend the Gwinnett County Police job fair. Going into the fair I had different
expectations of how it would be and I left feeling very excited about possibly working for an agency
such as Gwinnett. What I expected:
Prior to this year, while it is possible, I have grasped that not all aspiring police officers can work for a
federal agency right out of college. Therefore, instead of making a federal option my plan (A), I have
made it by plan (B), hoping to work local first then transfer to federal if I choose. In addition, I used to
believe the local police only did patrol work. I was not aware that police also have many other
interesting tasks. After attending the Gwinnett County Police job fair, I can ... Show more content on

Supplemental Income Program
In 1972, Congress replaced the State administered programs with the Federally administered
Supplemental Income (SSI) program as an assistance source of last resort for the aged, blind, or
disabled whose income and resources are below specified levels. The SSI program went into effect in
January 1974, administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA). SSI has been highly
successful in helping society s most vulnerable citizens. These individuals rely on SSI benefits in
order to purchase the basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter. The program targets those who are

Children as well as adults can get benefits because of blindness and disability. Blind means you are
either blind or have very poor eyesight. Disabled means you have a physical or mental problem that
keeps you from working and is expected to last a year or to result in death. For a child, Social Security
looks at how his or her disability affects everyday life. Individuals monthly SSI benefit amounts are
also affected by their income, resources, and living arrangements. The more income you have, the less
your SSI payment will be. If your income is over the allowable limit, you cannot receive SSI. The
value of a persons resources (the things they own) determines whether they are eligible for SSI
payments. The limit for countable resources is $2000 for an individual, and $3000 for a couple. The
living arrangements are important because payments vary depending if you live in your own place
such as a house, apartment, or trailer; or in someone else s household; or in an institution. The benefits
are financed from general revenues, and some states supplement the Federal benefit. When states add
to the federal SSI payment, then the SSI payment levels are higher in those states. The maximum
federal payment changes yearly. As of January 1, 2000, the federal benefit rate was $512 for an
individual and $769 for a couple. Factors such as race, gender and education all play a part in who
participates in the SSI program. African Americans, other nonwhites,

Erick Erickson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development
Theory Erick Erickson (1950,1963) proposed to a psychoanalytic theory of psychosocial development
comprising eight stages from infancy to adult with each stage a person will experience some sort of
psychosocial experience that may have a negative or positive outcome for their personal development.
The psychosocial have eight stages each stage are depending the age of the child. The stages are; trust
vs mistrust this is the infancy stage at this stage the infant is uncertain about the world they live in to
end the feeling of uncertainty the infant looks upon their primary care giver for stability, autonomy vs
shame this is the early child hood stage children who complete this stage successfully leave feeling
secure and confident in themselves while for those who do not are left with a sense of shame and
doubt of self, initiative vs guilt play age children display curiosity about the world, and begin to assert
their power and contract of the world through direct play and social interaction they also feel a sense
of guilt when they take a negative initiative and are punished, industry vs inferiority the school age if a
child is praised for doing their best and encouraged to finish task then industry may result, while the
child who ant master their school work may think of themselves as a failure and feeling inferiority
may arise, identity vs role confusion the adolescence stage this is the main stage and most important
development task for adolescents are to constructer their own unique sense of identity and find the
social environment where they can belong to and have meaningful relationship( Chen, Lay Wu, Yao,
2007), intimacy vs isolation young adult, adults who successful in resolving the conflict of this stage
are able to develop deep meaningful relationship with others while adults who struggles with this
stage experience poor relationship ( Cherry, Gans), generative vs stagnation adulthood stage failing to
achieve this stage they become stagnant and feel unproductive while success in it will lead to the
feeling of virtue and care(McLeod), and lastly ego integrity vs despair maturity stage to be successful

People who believed in Galen s theories tried to explain how the pulmonary vein would have air go
down into the heart and also have a by product called sooty vapours brought up into the lungs. Though
there was a massive lack of evidence, the Galen theory still stood as the correct theory ( About
William Harvery ). Galen s model was proven wrong by Renaissance anatomists. Despite Galen s
model being used for so many years, Vesalius proved the vena cava could not have come from the
liver. Realdo Columbo s experimentation also gathered information about the heart. It was revealed
that the systole phase of the heart is active as it constricts and pumped blood into the arteries while the
dystole phase is the inactive phase of the heart ( About William Harvery ). Harvey, inspired by
Vesalius s discoveries, later discovered the process of blood circulation in 1628 ( Renaissance
medicine ). Galen s theories were challenged by William Harvey s (About Williams Harvey). Harvey
observed sheep veins and arteries and even his own veins to discover blood circulation. Harvey
concluded that the veins in our bodies allowed the blood to circulate( Medicine ). Harvey was able to

The Discovery Of The Soft Drink Coca Cola
Like many the most notable inventions and ideas that have come to past the discovery of the soft drink
Coca Cola was an accident. In the year 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, a pharmacist by the name of John
Pemberton was trying to create a type of medical syrup with the purpose of help those with fatigue,
anxiety, and oral illnesses. Along with his assistant they added ice to the mixture and deemed the
concoction tasty enough for the public. With the growing demand the assistant unknowingly added
carbonated water to the medication and it was then that the drink known around the world as Coca
Cola was made. In modern times the drink is consumed by an estimated one billion individuals a day.
Even though many think that it was an overnight success in reality Pemberton reportedly spent $74
dollars trying to promote the beverage in its initial days but only managed to sell $50. As the company
went on to become the dominant brand within the realms of soft drinks Coca Cola eventually
developed a vision which involved achieving and maintaining a state of quality and growth. The
company prioritized the people that they are associated with be that the consumers or employees and
set out to make their environment a great place to work. The company not only holds concerns for its
employees but also the planet as a whole as they consistently take part in helping any community that
they happen to be associated with by creating numerous charities and funds in order to benefit those in

Notes On The Day Of The National Anthem
Quotes 1 this quote reminds me of my training in jujutsu. For each black belt, there are three main
concepts you must try and work in to your life. For the first degree, black belt one of those is
determination. I believe that this is important for the first level because it help teach us to not give up
and to continue to train no matter what. 2 It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a
thought without accepting it This quote make me think about how important critical thinking skills
are. If we blindly trust everything we here or whatever we think without truly analyzing what we are
about to say. It is because we fail to analyze our thoughts that we end up with so much false in for
nation. Currently I see this as a big problem without modern society as most people will just believe
everything that we here on the news. Once we are educated thou we CNS better weed out truth from
fiction. 3 Should we stand to the national anthem at sporting events and why? I think that it is truly
your own opinion and that it also depends on why you chose to sit. I don t think it is that important to
stand for the anthem. I personally don t see what the big deal with our obsession with our country is.
Most Americans are overly patriotic if you ask me and we should all lighten up a little bit. We seem to

The Problem Of Football Club
Further to your questions and advice you require about your football club facing currently. This is a
common practice in the United Kingdom that football clubs face financial problems due to their debts
exceeding their current assets. In recent years, many football clubs went into liquidation,
administration process. This situation arises where football clubs are unable to pay their debts because
they could not control their massive expenditures. Therefore, they went insolvent or in to liquidation.
To sum up this process, the company shareholders passed the special resolution to put the company in
to liquidation or administration or Creditors take the matter to court and get the court orders against
potential debtors. All processes are done under the common law and statutes such as Insolvency Act

Franchising Is A System Or Method Of Marketing A Product...
In general, franchising is a system or method of marketing a product or service. Since a Franchisor

throughout the world. Another definition emphasizes that franchising is an agreement between two
legally independent parties. (Lafontaine and Shaw, 1999) In this agreement business owner

Figure 1 Franchising Concept
According to the Department of Commerce, the following are some of the major reasons why
companies decide to franchise (Selig, 1998)
Franchising provides an effective method for raising capital to finance expansion.
Franchising enables the franchiser to pool resources, advertise and promote, achieve economies of
scale in purchases, expand internationally and develop new products and services.
Franchising provides the franchiser quality control, consistency, and uniformity over goods and
services produced and/or distributed as well as media, public relations, image and appearance.
Franchising provides flexibility for respond¬ing to changing customer needs and emerging markets
within a wide variety of sectors.
Individuals become franchisees for a number of reasons.

Abstract Consortium Bank A subsidiary bank created by numerous banks. A consortium bank is
created to fund a specific project (such as providing affordable homeownership for low and moderate
income home buyers) or to execute a specific deal (such as selling loans in the loan syndication
market) . (Investopedia, 2009)
The Consortium generally strengthens the individual bank s assets to meet their objectives. All
member banks have equal or proportionate ownership shares the member with the highest percentage
of shares has the leading authority. After the bank s objective is met the consortium typically
dissolves.

All these banks came together so as to invest in the Real Estate Sector that too in the East Lansing
area. The main focus of our Consortium is to finance inner city and mixed used projects.
Inner City Projects are basically for the redevelopment of the city so as to improve the urban
infrastructure, financial services, land tenure regularization, enhanced community capacity and
improvements in public safety. (Jackson, 2015)
Mixed Used Projects are any urban, suburban or village development, or even a single building, that
blends a combination of residential, commercial, cultural, institutional, or industrial uses, where those
functions are physically and functionally integrated, and that provides pedestrian connections.
(Jackson, 2015)
So basically we are interested in investing in any such project that is in the well fare of the city of East
Lansing as well as its residents. It can be a hospital, a residential complex, a commercial office
building, a school or any such project that enhances the real estate market of the city and should be for
the wellness of the residents of the city.
In this report further I am going to discuss about the Loan policies of the consortium for the Real
Estate Developers.
Why is a Consortium needed?
A syndicate bank is formed by multiple banks, for a particular purpose of financing a specific project
that is too big for an individual bank to finance on its own. Under this procedure the

Causes And Effects Of Global Warming
Causes and Effects of Global Warming
Global warming is the heating of the earth at an unnatural pace due to humans. The world regularly
undergoes eras of warming and cooling, the current event is due to humans and is happening more
rapidly than ever before. Bill Freedman (2014) stated that, ...increases in global temperatures are due
to human activity (i.e., not due to solar variations, volcanic activity, cyclic warming or cooling trends,
etc.) ... This means that the warming of the earth is only global warming when it is caused by humans.
Currently, according to past trends on Earth, the planet is supposed to be undergoing a cooling, but
because of global warming the earth is on a heating trend. Global warming is caused by the Industrial
Revolution, increased greenhouse gases, and deforestation and impacts the world by raising
temperatures, melting polar ice caps, rising sea levels, and the extinction of species and the harm of
humans.
Causes of Global Warming
Global warming is a growing problem and if it is left alone, it will ruin the Earth. The main cause of
global warming is the industrialization of the world; this began with the Industrial Revolution in the
seventeenth century. The Industrial Revolution was the beginning of an era with machines, which lead
to mass production, and more jobs. It allowed countries to produce higher quality products in less
time. This was the switch from rural, agricultural towns to larger, urbanized cities. The

Wage Slavery In The Early 1800s
It was difficult for lower class Americans and immigrants to find work at the turn of century, and those
who were able to find work were not much better off than those who could not. These people were
completely dependent on every penny they earned, which is almost the exact definition of wage
slavery. They also had to work in less than desirable conditions, which is also very similar to the
definition of wage slavery. These people were trapped in this way of life because they could not earn
enough extra money to do anything about their situation.
The laborers described in the reading were very similar to the real slaves of the early 1800s. While
they were not physically owned by anyone else, they were poorly mistreated in the factories and
warehouses where they worked, and they had little to no money and few possessions. They also could
not afford extravagant homes, and in some cases they could not afford housing at all. They were
unable to improve their living arrangements because they had no money to buy a house or even afford
more than one room. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had no extra money to set aside and save up to move halfway across the country. This caused the
cities to become even more overpopulated, which caused jobs to become even more scarce, and
people were forced to take any work they could find. This meant that even the most repulsive jobs
were becoming unavailable as more people kept moving piling up in one city.
Many immigrants and lower class Americans at the time did not even have jobs, and the ones that did
still did not have much money. Wage slavery trapped the few who were lucky enough to find work and
forced them to stay in one place. These people were miserable enough as it was, and on top of that,
they could only find highly underpaying jobs that were extremely

The Stereotypes Of Dishonesty And Flawless Relationships
Growing up, many have experienced that flawless relationship, whether it involves being a contributor
to one or just simply examining others. Watching movies, such as The Notebook, gave us such
extreme hopes as to what to expect when it came time for dating to become a part of our lives. Sadly,
once that time had arrived, dating made an unexpected turn for the worst.
Relationships tend to be dishonest. Having gone through a relationship, I understand what it is like to
be involved in a relationship like so with the person I once thought I could trust. Because I was proven
wrong, involving myself in another relationship, especially this early, is going to be really rare.
Having conversed with some friends who have gone through the same instance, they say that they will
probably not jump into another one until their career is set and their life is intact. The dishonesty is
mostly associated with not being told where or who the significant other is with or just blatantly lying
about it and saying they re somewhere they aren t. That idea of dishonesty tags along with the idea of

The Red Kangaroo has the ability to survive when water is scarce. The herbage and foliage that the
Kangaroo eats provides them with their water needs as well as their nutritional requirements. In times

food is a determining factor in the Red Kangaroo life cycle.
Reproduction
Red Kangaroo breeds all year round, however spring and summer tend to be times when most young

Background
The Bail Support Program Service began on the month of January in the year 2001 as the Pilot Bail

Provide early treatment, including access to drug treatment and rehabilitation programs. Reduce risk
of the client re offending. The Bail support program also aids an accused person that would otherwise
be remanded in custody to be granted bail and to remain on bail to satisfy the conditions of their bail.
A decrease of relevant services to aid youth to gain bail and meet the conditions has been noted as
possibly contributing towards the large number of youth on custodial remand, mainly for the
indigenous community and younger people who reside in more remote and regional areas.
Because of this the provision aid in finishing bail orders can partake a critical role in decreasing rates
of custodial remand. The bail Support programs are mainly aimed at the youth or adults, to distinguish
the different needs of the groups. The jurisdictions youth Justice department or non government

Immigration, Offshoring And American Jobs Essay
Young Bo Moh

Immigration
In 2014, President Obama claimed, For more than 200 years, our tradition of welcoming immigrants
from around the world has given us a tremendous advantage over other nations. It s kept us youthful,
dynamic, and entrepreneurial. It has shaped our character as a people with limitless possibilities
(Office of the Press Secretary, 2014). What makes the United States the United States? Our country s
success and culture comes from the power of immigrants. But this is not to brag about our historical
foundation, rather talk about immigration being a significant variable in our economy. First,
immigration brings creative ideas to the American economy. Immigrants bring their culture from their
homelands, and it strengthens the population by enriching their ideas (Kelly, 2013). In addition, it
creates more jobs. The study, Immigration, Offshoring and American Jobs by Professor Ottaviano of
Bocconi University and Professor Peri of the UC Davis, notes that low skilled immigrants usually fill
gaps in American labor markets and generally enhance domestic business prospects rather than
destroy jobs (Cowen, 2010). In addition, immigrants including the unauthorized people create jobs
through their purchasing power and entrepreneurship. (American Immigration Council, 2015).
According to the Economic Report of the President, immigration added roughly 0.2 percent to GDP:
$31.4 billion (American Immigration Council, 2015). To sum it up, a study by the

Peruvian Economic System
2.1. Ecosystem Services in the Peruvian Andes
Nowadays, worldwide economy has behaved in a very explosive and surprising manner. Specially in
developing countries, the local economy has faced a great challenge for the people towards
globalization. In South America, Peru is a traditional country trying to fit its customs and techniques
in agriculture with the fixed and aggressive markets of the world. According to Javier Escobal and
Denice Cavero (2014), Peruvian national statistics indicate that the country has experienced persistent
economic expansion recently (annual growth averaging over 5% during the last 15 years). However,
poverty has not been reduced, specially in rural areas, where it affects two of every three inhabitants.
Commonly, people within this marginal regions, have practiced agriculture as a profession and as a
tradition since ages.
According to Erin Lennox and John Gowdy (2014), the Peruvians have created and maintained their
agricultural system in the Peruvian Andes over many generations using local and ancestral techniques.
Over thousands of years, the Peruvian farmers have used these methods in their favor to domesticate a

Peru, which has envisioned to foment large scale production for agroindustry and foreign markets

The Impact Of The Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise, passed May 8, 1820, was an act which would obtain the balance between
free and slave states. Missouri would come into the union as a slave state, while Massachusetts would
establish Maine and admit Maine to the union as a free state. In order to avoid confusion for the future
of statehood, the 36 30 line split the country in two, anything above this line was free, anything below
this line was slave. Subsequent to this was Henry Clay s Compromise of 1850. California wished to be
added to the union as a free state, but was essentially split in half by the 36 30 line, enabled by the
Missouri Compromise. Despite that, California was added as a free state, with New Mexico and Utah

If not for events such as the women s rights movement, slavery may never have been abolished.
During the 1800 s, women began to join in the protests for abolition and stopping the expansion of
slavery. Lincoln imposed many ideas on the expansion of slavery which were also placed on the
women s rights movement. Women were seen as subsequent to men, therefore leading them to push
for their rights. As time went on, after slavery eventually was abolished, women then started their
journey for voting rights. Glancing at the women s suffrage and slavery, though not treated as poorly,
women had almost the same rights as slaves. Women wished for rights and the act of abolition just as
much as any slave ever could. All in all, no political action or moral argument would ever be able to
justify the cruel nature of slavery despite many efforts made and long lasting battles. The expansion of
slavery needed to come to an end, and though this wouldn t satisfy everyone, nothing ever

What does live, active cultures mean? Does it mean that there is living bacteria in the yogurt? Isn t

Problem Statement: But how do we really now that there are bacteria or microorganisms in our

Analysis of Consolation in Hades Bosom Poem
To begin with, this essay must summarize the poem s story written by the poet. At the very beginning,
the first stanza presents someone who has disappeared from this world. The second stanza tells us
about a woman who has lost something or someone really important, and how this affects her
emotional state. Later on, the poem goes deeper in the woman s feelings of desolation. In stanza five,
the poem explains the journey taken by the woman, in order to find the body of her loss, ending up
with the encounter to a witch. The next stanza clarifies that she has found Hades world and not a
witch, it describes the meeting and introduces the next stanza. Then, it is exposed what Hades told her,
stating that her son (only at this stanza, this is clearly stated) is death somewhere they both know.
Finally, the last stanza presents the resolution of the story, when the woman finds the dead body of her
son and also what she has been aiming for during the journey: relief.
Afterwards, this essay must analyze the poem in terms of form. 8 stanzas, all quatrains, except stanza
two and eight, which are quintets, compose it. Probably this distinction on extent is parallel to the
relevance of those stanzas within the composition. As we can notice in stanza number 2, the old
woman realizes her recent loss and it is the first emotion shown in the poem. On the other hand, the
last stanza is more clearly shown why it uses 5 lines instead of 4, and it also has relation with the
significance in the

Hispanic And Hispanic Racial Discrimination
Does it matter what we are called: Latino or Hispanic? Does it change who we are as people? To an
extent, most people do not know the difference between either. Typically, people group both terms as
one singular item. However, Hispanic and Latino racial classifications are more than a broad category
for people from Spanish speaking countries. The words connote and represent a history of colonial
terminology that based its success on the failures of innocent, historically peaceful, cultural groups.
Hispanic and Latino terminology are political and economic in every sense. This paper will show that
colonial leanings to control and govern people s lives have yet to culminate, even though the era of
imperialism ended a century ago. The United States, although far from its heyday as the singular
house of power, still manages to achieve control and influence over the imperialized minds of groups
of people, specifically Hispanics and Latinos.
What is the difference? Hispanic denotes the culture and people of countries formerly ruled by the
Spanish Empire (Gause, 2011, pp. 22). On the contrary, Latino means an individual of Mexican,
Cuban, Puerto Rican, Central, South American descent or other Spanish origin or culture, regardless
of race (Gause, pp.22). However, the terminology is not very important to most in the United States,
as members of either group typically refer to themselves by their country of origin: Mexican,
Dominican, Cuban, etc (Taylor, Lopez, Martinez, Velasco,

from her family and friends back home to help support her and her efforts. This eventually led to the
development of Amazima Ministries, whose mission was to provide food, medical care, education,

nearly 1,600 children, some who would not even be alive today without it. One of the first children
Davis s ministry provided for was a young girl named Agnes, only nine when Davis found her. Her
parents had both died from HIV, and she was left to care for her two younger sisters. She had no
money and little access to food and water. Davis took Agnes under her wing and gave her the care that

Wainwright Building
The relationship between form and function had always been the core of Sullivan s career. In his point
of view, anything, whether it is organic or inorganic, could be deemed as the representation of its
content and function, and every particular function has developed its own form. Sullivan explain this
idea by illustrating oak tree in his Kindergarten Charts, he wrote, generally speaking outer
appearances resemble inner purposes. For instances, the form, oak tree, resembles and expresses the
function or purpose, oak (Sullivan, Kindergarten chats). In here, form could be understood as
phenomenon of things, but not just the appearance. In his article, The Tall Office Building Artistically

hand, he believes that architecture could be great without any decoration or ornament. On the other
hand, thoughtful designed ornament is also indispensable to architecture. Finally, he gave the answer,
he thinks particular ornament should be applied on the particular kinds of architecture, just like
different trees have various types of leaves. So, architectural form is not influenced by the extrinsic
factor, but the growth of itself. Now it is understandable why Wainwright Building got such a

sophisticated spiraled leaves surrounds the circular windows. It is just the metaphor of the organic

1. One of the most popular and powerful of the hacker tools is surprisingly easy to obtain.
The program is called Back Orifice.
a. This program gives the hacker the ability to virtually hijack your computer and do anything with it
that you would be able to do.
b. Not only can the hacker get to all your files, the hacker can see every keystroke you type in

3. Still other programs trick users into entering passwords to exit an application, such as internet email

  • 2. The, The Bark, And Birds Hell Upon entering The Met museum, I was overwhelmed by the enormous sculptures and detailed paintings that filled each gallery. Though there were many galleries, the one that captured my attention and led to be the focus of my paper is the Max Beckmann gallery. Max Beckmann in New York sheds light on his connection with New York City. The art gallery displayed fourteen works in which Beckmann created during his time living in New York. The gallery included many different forms of art works such as, self portraits, mythical, expressionist interiors, robust, colorful portraits, portraits of women, performers, and landscapes. Of the fourteen works, the three that I will focus on in this paper is the Self Portrait in Tuxedo, The Bark, and Birds Hell. Max Beckman was a German painter, printmaker, craftsman, and sculptor. Beckmann enjoyed great success, receiving official honors and awards. His success suddenly reached a turning point when Adolf Hitler came into power. Hitler resented Modern Art, and led in the abolishment of Modern Art in Germany. Shortly after, Beckmann was disliked by the Nazi Government and was often referred to as a Cultural Bolshevik . Cultural Bolshevism was a term used by Nazi Germany to attack Modernist Movements in the arts. After enduring such rejection, Mac Beckmann focused his experience of Modern life into Expressive images with an intensity of emotion and symbolism. During the 1920s, Beckmann became one of the main artists associated with Neue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Comparing Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers Compare and Contrast Essay Susan Glaspell lived from 1876 1948. She was the cofounder of the first modern American theater company called the Provincetown Players, along with having been a pulitzer prize winning playwright, an actress, a novelist, and a journalist, so she was kind of a jack of all trades, meaning she had many different talents or skills. Glaspell was raised in Iowa, and therefore she set place many of her pieces of writing in the state of Iowa. Trifles is a one act play that is based on a murder trial that Glaspell covered as a young reporter. A Jury of Her Peers is the short story version of this famous play. There are several similarities and differences between the play Trifles and the short story A Jury of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I stated above, Trifles only gives the reader or viewer knowledge from the outside looking in. The short story A Jury of Her Peers doesn t give the reader first person feelings and experiences, however, the narrator of the story does give the reader any thoughts or feelings of the characters that may be needed to better understand the story. The narrator is an important part in the change between the play and the story. The narrator gives us information about each family, how people are related, what things look like, what the weather is like, and many more small details that we would not have known otherwise. For example, when arriving at the Wright house, the narrator says It looked very lonesome on this cold March morning. This short sentence gives the reader so much information that we don t know about in the play. We now know that it is in the morning when they are going to examine the situation, and that its in March, so it s kind of cold still coming out of winter. We also know that the Wright house looks lonely. This picture that the narrator puts in the readers head is one that sets the tone for the whole story. One that we don t fully get until halfway through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At this point, I have no idea what I m doing or where I m going; all that I know is that I need to get away from it, whatever it means. Dust accumulates in my eyes, nose, and throat, making me cough and even gag violently, but I couldn t stop running blindly in the bright streaks of light that poor through the small windows that have been carved into the ground. Small yet violent swirls of wind smash into my body out of nowhere and almost forcing me to stop, but nothing can stop my swiftly moving. Wind, dust, burning, and pressure all consume my figure and grips my soul with a mind shattering strength. A fear that no person should ever know latches onto my brain and causes me to use all of my prehistoric instincts, all of which tell me one thing: run and hide. Now. The book lay unopened for centuries, smoking out all the people who long to know what engross the pages of the book. I don t know who opened it. I don t know why they opened it. All that I know is that something had escaped from the ancient book, and it didn t want to be alone. Red leather and faded black lettering had encased the front of it, or so I d been told, and the pages had yellowed with age. The contents of the book remain unknown, but there are ... • 5. Higher Education in Pakistan vs. the UK The state of higher education: Pakistan in comparison with the UK After partition, Pakistan, an independent state came into being in 1947 and inherited a colonial university system, created by the British. The fundamental features of this system during that era were that it was under financed, bureaucratic, and mediocre and was teaching rather than research oriented. Just then, the country had a poorly educated population and few schools or universities. Even though the education system has expanded to a great extent since then, debate continues about the curriculum, and, apart from a few elite institutions, quality remains a critical concern of educators till date. In Pakistan, higher education is referred to as the education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his opinion, Pakistan cannot even match Tehran University which is a country cut off from the world for over 25 years. Moving on, earlier this year (2010), at a formal meeting, in Quaid e Azam University, professors voted to make life easier for themselves and the Academic Council, which is the key decision making body of the university, decided that from now on no applicant for a university teaching position would be required to give an open seminar or lecture as a component of the selection process. Open lectures were noted by the council as illegal, unjust and a strategy for victimizing the teachers. This was unbelievable as public presentations allow an applicant s subject capability and competence to communicate to be assessed by the academic community. Another major decision that also brought a dramatic blow to the future of QAU and to Pakistan s other universities as well was taken when the council voted that QAU s PhD candidates did not have to conform to international standards and decided to overturn its earlier acceptance of the HEC s requirement that the international GRE subject tests must be passed by a entrant prior to the grant of a PhD degree. • 6. How Did William Harvey Influence The English Renaissance... The Renaissance was a period where innovation, inventions and discoveries were made. Curiosity laid the foundation for many great Renaissance Change Makers. There was no exception for the physician named William Harvey. William Harvey had a significant influence on the English Renaissance society, in the areas of anatomy and physiology as he disproved a 1,500 year old theory of the circulation of the blood and supplied valid evidence for his theory in the form of a book. Whether he knew it or not, William Harvey s career began when he was only ten years old. At this age, he was first introduced to medicine at Kings College Canterbury (Silverman, 2007, para. 13). He then followed his father s dream and pursued in the medical field. This resulted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these was Exercitatio Anatomica de Motu Cordis et Sanguinis in Animalibus which translates to On the Motion of the Heart and Blood in Animals. He first published it in Frankfurt, 1628 while he was a lecturer at the Royal College of Physicians. It is believed that there was no original copy of the book as it was produced through mass production and so many copies exist in museums today. However, a copy of the original title page of the book is held in the Science Museum, London. William Harvey s book on wasn t specifically created for someone. Instead, curiosity about the body resulted in him recording his findings in a logical form. However, a Greek physician by the name of Galen influenced many Renaissance physicians at the time, which made the possible success of his theory difficult, as patients deserted his practice and the medical community questioned his success. William Harvey shows a view of The Motion of the Heart and Blood in animals that reflects knowledge he had gained and the support of Kings Charles and James 1 through publicity and valued opinions. Right from the get go, when Muriel s mother expresses that there s a very great chance... that Seymour may completely lose control of himself (Salinger 2), we see how people surrounding Seymour are concerned for his mental health due to a host of his previous erratic behaviors. These include funny business with the trees [when driving] , that business with the window [he broke it] , and the horrible things he said to Granny about her plans for passing away (Salinger 2), which when compounded, clearly demonstrates Seymour s struggle to reconnect with society. • 9. Homophobia In Dude YouRe A Fag Pdg This instability also transfers to the interpersonal relations between a teacher and their student. One example with Pascoe gives to prove that homophobia permeates student teacher interactions, also shows the vulnerability of teacher authority. Pascoe describes a conversation between two teachers; Mr. Ford, the art teacher explains that one of his students, Huey, had flipped him off (2007, p. 36). In response, Mr. Ford told him You should be doing that to girls, not to me (Pascoe, 2007, p. 36). Pascoe understands this as Mr. Ford calling out Huey s masculinity, telling him that Huey s fuck you, which Mr. Ford interpreted sexually in order to teach him a lesson, should be directed at girls (2007, p. 36). This is a threat to Huey s masculinity because Mr. Ford is implying that Huey meant the gesture as a sexual come on to another man. This is an example of the larger pattern of homophobia and heteronormativity which Pascoe tries to lay out throughout Dude, You re a Fag. Again, I agree with Pascoe, but believe that her analysis could go further. She argues that homophobia and heterosexual norms permeate student teacher interactions, but fails to mention the teacher s position of authority as a reason for this. In this example, Huey challenged Mr. Ford s authority by flipping him off. Then, instead of causing a scene and losing the friendly student teacher rapport that Mr. Ford worked to cultivate, Mr. Ford chose to minimize the situation by using a joke to enact ... (Poe, 5) As the Red Death ravaged through time the question remains, what would happen now? With today s booming populations and frequent trade routes being open 24/7 plagues and other wide spread disease could quickly and effectively wipe out our nation. This pestilence was so powerful that it spread from the ill to the healthy like fire among dry or oily materials. It was so bad that it could be communicated not only through speaking or associating with the sick, but even by touching their clothing or anything else they had touched. (Boccaccio, 2) With the help of FEMA and other organization though it could be argued that the human population could survive. As a bacterial disease, plague can be treated with antibiotics, and can be prevented from spreading by prompt identification, treatment and management of human cases. Spider Monkeys One of the prevailing theories about why primates have such good color vision is that it allowed them to pick out fruits against the green backgrounds of forests and jungles (Osorio et al., 2004). New World monkey color vision is an evolutionary puzzle because the same evolutionary pressures for finding food should act similarly on both sexes. According to van Roosmalen (1985), it is a hypothesized that dominant female spider monkeys lead the group to food sources, suggesting why there may be a difference in these animals due to their ecology. • 12. A Summary Of La Ville Lumiere La Ville Lumiere The dark specter of the cool night spread across the sky, while the alluring orange color of the sunset disappeared as nonchalantly as it came. A mixed medley of harmonious sounds streamed through the night from the violins. Music echoed from every street corner, awakening life, springing off the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame and floating through the Arc de Triomphe. Soon, the people, scattered like trees in a desolate country, grew into a huge crowd like a lush green woodland. Noises of people shrilling, teenagers laughing and adults murmuring transpired from the crowd. The lads held their demoiselles hands lost in their world of immortal love. Eventually, everyone slipped into their dancing shoes. The aromas rose from the hot sizzling gourmet cuisine and cigarette smoke to quickly permeate the air. The streets shone with dazzling lights as bright as daytime, as the astounding Eiffel Tower took form in its enticing and glowing festive lights of amber, standing in its own elegance, like a gem on Champ de Mars. Police Job Fair Essay Introduction: (option 7) As students, we sometime get burnt out during mid semester, due dates are forgotten, test are not studied for and ultimately grade begin to decline. It is not because we are lazy or potentially trying to fail ourselves, but because we sometime begin to lose interest. Therefore, once in a while it is nice to refresh our interest with things such as guest speakers or events. On November 15th I had the opportunity to attend the Gwinnett County Police job fair. Going into the fair I had different expectations of how it would be and I left feeling very excited about possibly working for an agency such as Gwinnett. What I expected: Prior to this year, while it is possible, I have grasped that not all aspiring police officers can work for a federal agency right out of college. Therefore, instead of making a federal option my plan (A), I have made it by plan (B), hoping to work local first then transfer to federal if I choose. In addition, I used to believe the local police only did patrol work. I was not aware that police also have many other interesting tasks. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children as well as adults can get benefits because of blindness and disability. Blind means you are either blind or have very poor eyesight. Disabled means you have a physical or mental problem that keeps you from working and is expected to last a year or to result in death. For a child, Social Security looks at how his or her disability affects everyday life. Individuals monthly SSI benefit amounts are also affected by their income, resources, and living arrangements. The more income you have, the less your SSI payment will be. If your income is over the allowable limit, you cannot receive SSI. The value of a persons resources (the things they own) determines whether they are eligible for SSI payments. The limit for countable resources is $2000 for an individual, and $3000 for a couple. The living arrangements are important because payments vary depending if you live in your own place such as a house, apartment, or trailer; or in someone else s household; or in an institution. The benefits are financed from general revenues, and some states supplement the Federal benefit. When states add to the federal SSI payment, then the SSI payment levels are higher in those states. The maximum federal payment changes yearly. As of January 1, 2000, the federal benefit rate was $512 for an individual and $769 for a couple. If we blindly trust everything we here or whatever we think without truly analyzing what we are about to say. It is because we fail to analyze our thoughts that we end up with so much false in for nation. Currently I see this as a big problem without modern society as most people will just believe everything that we here on the news. I find Disney visuals very interesting to analyze because of the dynamic visuals used in terms of color, shape, and animation. The site has so many central aspects of visual valor that draw in the user. This webpage has several different eye catching points within it. My eye is first drawn to Aladdin and Jasmine gazing into the distance with excited eyes, flying on their magic carpet. My eye then goes to notice the sky in the background with the fiery colors of red and yellow, creating the feeling of excitement, as well as creating a sun setting scene. Then my eye is drawn to the big blue off to the side of the site with an enthusiastic facial expression. I also notice that the site is very well put together. It is organized in a way that is clear and easy to navigate, making it possible even for children to figure their way around the site. This site has so much going on in it, but not too much to ... Shortly after the films proposal by Ashman, the screenplay Linda Wooverton signed on to work on producing the film, as well as directors Ron Clements and John Musker. I would suggest you to get lunch from the common restaurant, even though their food is not that attractive, but most of their dishes are quite delicious and cheap, such as Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai and Fried Kui Teow. • 36. Analysis of Consolation in Hades Bosom Poem To begin with, this essay must summarize the poem s story written by the poet. At the very beginning, the first stanza presents someone who has disappeared from this world. The second stanza tells us about a woman who has lost something or someone really important, and how this affects her emotional state. Later on, the poem goes deeper in the woman s feelings of desolation. In stanza five, the poem explains the journey taken by the woman, in order to find the body of her loss, ending up with the encounter to a witch. The next stanza clarifies that she has found Hades world and not a witch, it describes the meeting and introduces the next stanza. Then, it is exposed what Hades told her, stating that her son (only at this stanza, this is clearly stated) is death somewhere they both know. Finally, the last stanza presents the resolution of the story, when the woman finds the dead body of her son and also what she has been aiming for during the journey: relief. Afterwards, this essay must analyze the poem in terms of form. 8 stanzas, all quatrains, except stanza two and eight, which are quintets, compose it. Probably this distinction on extent is parallel to the relevance of those stanzas within the composition. As we can notice in stanza number 2, the old woman realizes her recent loss and it is the first emotion shown in the poem. On the other hand, the last stanza is more clearly shown why it uses 5 lines instead of 4, and it also has relation with the significance in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Hispanic And Hispanic Racial Discrimination Does it matter what we are called: Latino or Hispanic? Does it change who we are as people? To an extent, most people do not know the difference between either. Typically, people group both terms as one singular item. However, Hispanic and Latino racial classifications are more than a broad category for people from Spanish speaking countries. The words connote and represent a history of colonial terminology that based its success on the failures of innocent, historically peaceful, cultural groups. Hispanic and Latino terminology are political and economic in every sense. This paper will show that colonial leanings to control and govern people s lives have yet to culminate, even though the era of imperialism ended a century ago. The United States, although far from its heyday as the singular house of power, still manages to achieve control and influence over the imperialized minds of groups of people, specifically Hispanics and Latinos. What is the difference? Hispanic denotes the culture and people of countries formerly ruled by the Spanish Empire (Gause, 2011, pp. 22). On the contrary, Latino means an individual of Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Central, South American descent or other Spanish origin or culture, regardless of race (Gause, pp.22). However, the terminology is not very important to most in the United States, as members of either group typically refer to themselves by their country of origin: Mexican, Dominican, Cuban, etc (Taylor, Lopez, Martinez, Velasco, ... We as Americans can t even begin to comprehend the problems that people of Uganda experience in their daily lives. The struggles that they face derive from the fact that 51% of the Ugandan population lives on less than $1 a day (Katie Davis Speaks). Many of the people in Uganda are uneducated and therefore unable to obtain jobs, resulting in a massive unemployment rate in Uganda. Without a job, it s nearly impossible for them to get the money they need to support themselves, much less an entire family. Most do not have easy access to some of the most basic necessities, such as food, water, and shelter. With poor living conditions and health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She decided to give up the life she had in the United States to travel to Uganda, only relying on funds from her family and friends back home to help support her and her efforts. This eventually led to the development of Amazima Ministries, whose mission was to provide food, medical care, education, and work to those in need in Uganda (Katie Davis Speaks). Today, Davis s ministry provides for nearly 1,600 children, some who would not even be alive today without it. One of the first children Davis s ministry provided for was a young girl named Agnes, only nine when Davis found her. Her parents had both died from HIV, and she was left to care for her two younger sisters. She had no money and little access to food and water. Davis took Agnes under her wing and gave her the care that she so desperately needed. Agnes and her sisters are now healthy, and Agnes is a caregiver for Amazima (Davis 154). Amazima has had a huge impact on a multitude of children, and Agnes s story is a reflection of that impact. The ministry has had the ability to completely turn children s lives around, providing them with opportunities that they have only ever dreamed about. Davis, now twenty one, is a mom to thirteen young Ugandan girls who do not have families that can support or provide for them. Davis admits she could never have imagined this was where her journey in Uganda would lead her, but she has kept the mindset that one [child] is enough (Davis 204). She did everything she could to help every child that crossed her path, regardless of the circumstances. This mindset is what has driven Amazima Ministries to become what it is now and what will continue to drive it to become something even greater in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Wainwright Building The relationship between form and function had always been the core of Sullivan s career. In his point of view, anything, whether it is organic or inorganic, could be deemed as the representation of its content and function, and every particular function has developed its own form. Sullivan explain this idea by illustrating oak tree in his Kindergarten Charts, he wrote, generally speaking outer appearances resemble inner purposes. For instances, the form, oak tree, resembles and expresses the function or purpose, oak (Sullivan, Kindergarten chats). In here, form could be understood as phenomenon of things, but not just the appearance. In his article, The Tall Office Building Artistically Considered, published in 1986, Louis Sullivan ... Sullivan always gives high priority to architectural form, especially its ornament, but with a kind of ambivalence in his mind. On the one hand, he believes that architecture could be great without any decoration or ornament. On the other hand, thoughtful designed ornament is also indispensable to architecture. Finally, he gave the answer, he thinks particular ornament should be applied on the particular kinds of architecture, just like different trees have various types of leaves. So, architectural form is not influenced by the extrinsic factor, but the growth of itself. Now it is understandable why Wainwright Building got such a luxuriant ornament on its top.
