The evolution of technology has made a radical change in our society today. It has taken a toll in the
way operations systems work in many corporations and health industries. Many corporations invest
millions of dollars with a clear vision of the effective improvements they will be able to make with a
system of operation that is fast, secure, and saves time. The term saves time means, a system is able to
have one person do the job instead of 2 or 3 different staff members. This does not only promote a
glimpse of the future and the advances that technology has to offer. Through technology and different
gadgets available it automatically saves industries money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a human services provider the ability is critical in meeting objectives. Interoperability focuses on
care delivery. In the Administration for children and families, the three methods of interoperability
would be the information of sharing, exchanging, improve services of delivery. The main goal would
be to provide better outcome for children and their families.
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Human Services (HS) Domain was established by
the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and recognized by the NIEM Executive
Steering Council in March, 2012 to support information sharing and promote interoperability between
and beyond Human Service organizations in connection with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies.
The initial scope of the NIEM HS Domain will be determined by the HS Domain Governance Group.
Here are some of the examples of data exchanges to be considered by this group:
New York City HHS Connect: A network of NYC agency exchanges that serve over 3 million people
with a wider range of needs from applying for standard benefit to the more complex needs of socio
economically disadvantage New Yorkers (Niem, pg.12).
Child Support Required Data Exchanges: State child support agency computer systems are required to
support automated interfaces with various health and human series agencies within the state. The
minimum data elements for data exchange for the interferences at a federal level. These

Fog Pathway
The Fog pathway drives actin and myosin apical constriction
In developmental biology an important objective is to understand how cells behave to shape tissues
that produce highly organized embryos. Epithelial morphogenesis is a process driven by actin and
myosin apical constriction that results in sheets of cells rearranging to form defined structures. The
Drosophila Folded in gastrulation (Fog) pathway is one of the best developmental signaling pathways
in demonstrating this process. During gastrulation, the epithelial cells undergo a range of
morphogenetic mechanisms to form the ventral furrow (VF) and the posterior midgut (PMG). This
process begins with Dorsal, a maternal factor, activating Twist and Snail transcription factors which in
turn activates the transcription of the secreted ligand Fog that is a zygotic factor expressed in
presumptive mesoderm and posterior midgut primordium. Fog in turn activates Concertina (Cta), a
Gα12/13 homologue through an unknown membrane receptor that leads to the activation of RhoGEF,
which is recruited to the apical membrane by T48 protein. RhoGEF2 then activates Rho1, a small
GTPase, activating the Rho pathway and its components such as Rho kinase (Rok), non muscle
myosin II, and actin, leading to apical constriction and actin myosin based cell shape ... Show more

(2013) developed a novel functional genomic approach by reconstituting the epithelial folding
pathway in a cell based assay. From S2 cells, S2R+ cells that contracted in response to Fog were
engineered. The S2R+ cells did not contract during RNAi mediated depletion of proteins in the
pathway, such as Cta, RhoGEF2, or Rho1, indicating that the pathway has been reconstructed in these
cells. The Fog receptor mist was identified by performing a targeted RNAi screen in the S2R+ cells
and individually depleting 138 GPCRs in the Drosophila genome. The S2R+ cells that do not exhibit
contraction to Fog therefore contained the

The Controversy Of Capital Punishment
The Controversy of Capital Punishment
Capital punishment, or the death penalty, is a form of punishment that has been used as far back as the
Colonial Era in America. Although it has been around for the entirety of American history, most of the
scrutiny and controversy involving capital punishment arose in the 1972 Supreme Court Case of
Furman v. Georgia, in which it was abolished, but quickly returned in 1977. It is evident that many
citizens have ambivalent stances on capital punishment; some believing it is necessary form of
punishment while others believe that the death penalty is a violation of the Eighth Amendment.
Although capital punishment has been used throughout history and is seen by many as a form of
justified punishment, there are many reasons in favor of ending the death penalty completely. Capital
punishment is an unnecessary evil that should be found unconstitutional because of it is not practical,
it is corrupt, and it is unable to deter further homicides from being committed.
A brief history explaining the verdicts made by the Supreme Court regarding capital punishment in
American history needs to be made to understand why capital punishment has become such a national
issue in contemporary America. In the 1972 Supreme Court case Furman v. Georgia, the court ruled
that the, carrying out of the death penalty...constitutes cruel and unusual punishment, (Hugo 1). Since
the death penalty was considered at the time cruel and unusual, it made it in direct

Persuasive Essay On Green House Effect
We as a society have reached one of the most crucial time periods in the history of our world. Due to
the way we have used the resources on this earth we have created a situation in which our climate is
drastically changing. The burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil has caused gases like carbon
dioxide to become trapped in the atmosphere causing a natural greenhouse effect. The greenhouse
effect has caused the earth s average temperature to rise and has resulted in arctic glaciers melting.
These glaciers had gases trapped inside them that are now being released into the atmosphere further
raising the earth s temperature. Due to the way we are polluting our air we have caused global
warming. This global warming has caused stronger natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires
putting our society in more danger than ever before. Joseph Fournier came up with the idea of the
greenhouse effect in 1824. In the late 1950 s Charles Keeling created a tool in Mauna Loa Hawaii to
measure the amount of carbon dioxide being trapped in the atmosphere due to the greenhouse effect.
This tool has discovered a steady increase in the carbon dioxide levels over the last fifty years in what
has become known as the Keeling Curve . Keeling discovered that about twenty five percent of the
carbon dioxide molecules in our atmosphere are man made. These carbon dioxide molecules being
trapped in the atmosphere are raising earth s temperature at a dangerous rate. Many in the science

Evaluation Of Rehabilitation For Patellar Dislocation
This paper is a review of rehabilitation for patellar dislocation. Patellar dislocation occurs when the
patella slips out of the patellofemoral (trochlear) groove, most often laterally (Cheatham, Kolber,
Hanney, 2014; Enix, Sudkamp, Scali, 2015). This can occur from direct trauma such as sudden
mechanical forces exerted on the patella (Respizzi, Cavallin, 2014; Duignan McGibney et.al., 2016).
The injury can also be the result of indirect trauma such as when the foot is fixed on the ground and
biomechanical abnormalities of the lower leg come into effect (Respizzi Cavallin et.al., 2014 et.al.,
2014; Duignan McGibney et.al., 2016). Lateral patellar dislocation primarily affects younger active
populations (between 10 and 17 years old) and usually occurs due to injury during physical activity
(Balcarek, Oberthür, Frosch, Schüttrumpf, Stürmer 2014; Ménétrey, Putman, Gard, 2014; Tsai, Hsu,
Hung, Hsu, 2012; Lehman, Beckman, Craig, 1989; Calapodopulos, Nogueira, Eustáquio,
Calapodopulos Júnior, Rodrigues, 2016; Petri, 2015; Cheatham et.al., 2014; Enix et.al., 2015). 55%
72% of first time patellar dislocations occur from sports (Tsai et.al., 2012; Petri et.al., 2015). Studies
have also shown that women are more prone to patellar dislocations than men (Vitale, 2016; Tsai
et.al., 2012; Duignan McGibney, 2016; Calapodopulos, 2016; Cheatham et.al., 2014; Enix et.al.,

Tennis Is On The Right Track By Giving Equal Prize Money
People pretend it doesn t exist they deny that after all these years racism isn t happening but it is still
happening and very much alive. Tennis prides itself on being innovators. People think tennis is on the
right track by giving equal prize money to both male and females and giving both genders equal
opportunity in television and media coverage but the fact remains that tennis wouldn t fully be there
until they take that one step and drop the racism. This may seem like an impossible task but with lots
of joint effort with the general public, fans and the people involved in the sport racism can be
decreased. Tennis is a predominantly white sport and with the success of the Williams sister s barriers
have begun to dissolve but it s still an issue that needs fixing.
Tennis has a long standing history that like many other sports has been around for a long time. There
is thin evidence to suggest that tennis has been around for thousands of years suggesting that the
Egyptians, Greeks and Romans had played it (Barzum). However, for many tennis is known to have
really begun in London in 1874 Major Walter C. Wingfield patented the game of tennis (Barzum).
That same year saw the tournament at Wimbledon be played for the first time but at this time it was
only men that were allowed to participate. Ten years later in 1884 women were finally able to
participate at Wimbledon (Barzum). Tennis 100 percent a white mans sport until 1968 the beginning
of the open era of tennis when

The Advantage Of Bilingualism
Bilingualism varies additional in research relying on the examination, distinctive groups of people
may be considered bilingual. Bilingualism alludes to a circumstance where a child groups up and is
dealt with two distinct languages. It is firmly identified to the wonder of language acquisition the route
in which we as a whole take in our native language as children. Knowing two languages instead of one
is beneficial. However, in recent years, researchers have started to explain how the advantages of
bilingualism are significantly more crucial than having the ability to speak with a bigger group of
people.
Research has demonstrated that the brains of children who are bilingual grow better intellectual
capabilities. Researchers who inspected the wonder gave it a peculiar name the bilingual advantage.
The mind of the speaker rapidly gets used to overseeing two languages at once. This creates abilities
for capacities extending from inhibition, working memory and switching attention. All these
psychological aptitudes affect the mind s official control framework, which for the most part deals
with activities dealing with high level thought. Since bilingual individuals continually switch between
their two languages, they re probably going to likewise be better at exchanging between various tasks.
Once a child learns more than one language, it is easy for them to pick up another one with ease.
Some scientists claim that bilinguals have a better chance to easily learn other

Terraria Vs Minecraft Research Paper
Minecraft and Terraria are top selling sandbox games that are slightly similar to each other, but since
their release, gamers have been arguing which one is better. Minecraft is better because of its
reliability, massive multiplayer system, and its ingenious difficulty and game modes. First of all,
Minecraft has infinite replayability, each world you create is randomly generated and infinite, leaving
so much to explore. In the game, you can also visit The Nether infested with Zombie pigmen and
Ghasts, The End home to the Enderdragon and Endermen, and another dimension which will be
released in the 1.9 update. Minecraft also has command blocks which, according to Jeb (lead creative

Four game modes can be chosen at the start of the game. They are Survival, Creative, Adventure, and
Hardcore. Survival is the main mode in Minecraft, it adds a health and hunger meter and players must
survive in a blocky world full of mobs (enemies). If you die in this mode, you will lose all your items
and experience and teleport back to the spawn. Creative removes the health and hunger bar and let s
the player fly and have unlimited blocks. Adventure is a mode commonly used on player submitted
maps, this prevents the player from breaking anything unless they have the right tool. Hardcore is
exactly like Survival, but when players die the world resets and the player has to start over. Survival,
Adventure, and Hardcore can have set difficulties. In Peaceful difficulty, no mobs will spawn and
players will not starve. In Easy difficulty, mobs will spawn and when a player starves, he or she will
lose half of their health. In Medium difficulty, mobs will be much stronger and when you starve you
will lose ¾ of your health. In Hard difficulty, mobs will be much stronger, much faster, and have more
health. Upon starving in the Hard difficulty you will slowly

Analysis Of The Cinema Of Attraction By Tom Gunning
Early films were created with audience reception in mind. Tom Gunning, author of Cinema of
Attraction, theorizes filmmakers goal to create a film that gripped the audiences attention and amazed
them create a spectacle. Therefore, early cinema did not have a narrative structure. They were most
often short films, such as those of the Lumiere Brothers, that were actualities; 40 to 50 second films
that showed actualities or activities representative of everyday life, such as playing cards, drinking
beer, or a moving train. Gunning asserts the period of early cinema began in 1895 and lasted until
1906/1907, when narrativization of cinema became a trend. Although the mode of storytelling
changed in later decades, some films retained the spectacular qualities central to early cinema. In this
essay, I will discuss Gunning s argument that early cinema was a spectacle or a tamed attraction.
Furthermore, I will argue Wings is reminiscent of early cinema for its creation of tamed attraction
through cinematography in scenes shot for visual appeal, special effects, and most notably, the dog
fight sequences. Gunning described early cinema ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

outspoken against the federal government. As stated earlier, McVeigh was upset regarding Ruby Ridge
and also the raid at the Branch Davidian compound. But McVeigh also had what was known as the

Arab American Culture
Many countries in the 21st Century became multicultural with the increase in global movement. The
purpose of this study is to explore perceptions, experiences, and patterns of health care practices
among Arab Americans and then to discover perceptions and experiences of health care providers
associated to culturally competent care. I selected this cultural as we are caring lot of patients from
this background especially in the pediatric oncology unit where I am working at MD Anderson. They
are the main income source for my hospital as they pay out of pocket. The goal of the study is to find
answers that would provide the basis for implementing system wide changes to include culturally

Transcultural nursing approach is to identify patient s cultural needs, respect for cultural beliefs and
practices, equal access to treatment and communication needs. From this article its clear that language
barrier affected all aspects of care to this group. It s crucial to learn about the background of a
particular culture to deliver culturally sensitive care. The first step in overcoming cultural diversity is
the awareness of stereotypes and prejudice s and the next step is learning how other people
communicate. The rapport between patient and health care team is often strained by mutual cultural
misunderstanding as well as communicative and linguistic hardship. What could be accepted to some
cultures may be odd to others.
The key points illustrated in the Journal of Transcultural Nursing, are the Faith of Islam and Health,
the Value of Health in Islam, health Promotion Practices in Islam which includes general hygiene,
diet, and exercise. Cultural factors can have a deep impact on health which ascends from religious
beliefs and practices. They believe that God is the creator of human beings and he has authority on our

Archaeology Has Proved the Historicity of the Trojan...
Archaeology has proved the historicity of the Trojan War. Discuss
he [Heinrich Schliemann] found layers of ruins and two bore unmistakable signs of violent
destruction. One of these layers, the seventh according to more recent excavators, was no doubt the
city of Priam and Hector. The historicity of the Homeric tale had been demonstrated archaeologically.
M.I. Finley, the World of Odysseus
Introduction
The Trojan War and its characters are detailed in the writings of Homer, Vergil, Dante and many
others. It is a fantastical tale of a decade long siege of a powerful city by a massive pan hellenic force.
However, even though it has proved to be such a rich source of inspiration for writers, poets and artists

These incidents of divine intervention were added in order to add further drama and emphasise the
scale of the struggle for victory.
I personally think that Heroditus version of the Trojan War is the closest to the truth. When he was
writing his Histories he had access to sources we did not, like the priests he mentioned in the above
quotation. His version of events, though it may not be completely accurate, is highly feasible and fits
with our existing knowledge of the Mycenaean period.
Archaeological evidence
If Homer s writings are central to our understanding of the Trojan War, so are Heinrich Schliemann s
digs. His name is synonymous with Troy. Fascinated with Homer, he made it his mission to discover
Troy, and eventually did. However, his problems with convincing his fellow academics and
archaeologists that he had indeed Troy is similar to the problem we have with defining what the Trojan
War actually is. Homer s Trojan War could not have possibly happened as it is laid out in the Iliad and
the Odyssey. There are jarring incongruities between what happens in his epics, and what happened in
that period of Greek history.
In like manner, if Apollo vouchsafe me glory and I slay your champion, I will strip him of his armour
and take it to the city of Ilius, where I will hang it in the temple of Apollo, but I will give up his body,

What Is The Tone Of The Santa Ana Winds By Joan Didion
There are moments when mother nature does something that may be inexplicable to mankind. There is
not always an explanation for why things happen. This type of change is explained in Joan Didion s
essay The Santa Ana Winds. Didion tries to describe the instinct that people have which tells them the
Santa Ana Winds are the reason for the change in the climate and within one another. Didion is able to
convey the effects of the the Santa Ana Winds on Los Angeles Natives by using a dark tone,
comparing her reasons to reliable sources, and outlining an image of the specific changes that happen.
Didion sets a dreadful tone by associating a set of words that contain unhappy connotations, with the
wind. She begins the essay by setting up an unpleasant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After she has provided her readers with an idea of how destructive the winds can be, she begins to
include specific examples of how different groups of people will react. Didion s perspective of the city
is similar to the view of a bird when flying over the city. This can be seen as an advantage for Didion s
essay which consequently, acquires a focused flow. She uses a personal experience of watching her
neighbor s husband [who roamed their] place with a machete. This example supports her assertions
about the winds causing unusual behavior. Her neighbor s actions are not something that a
psychologist or himself can explain. Instead, the way Didion herself makes sense of it is that
something in the wind (or nature) have turned on a switch for the world around them. She maintains
this fearful tone when describing the animals and the environment. Additionally, Didion uses an
oxymoron when she describes the ocean as ominously glossy. Her readers begin to question how the
ocean would deceive them. Didion s intentions are to make her readers visualize the aspects of the
ocean during this time. Once they have formed an image of the ocean in their minds the flow of her
essay is much smoother. Overall, detailed images Didion paints for her readers is helpful to the
purpose of her essay, which is to prove to that the Santa Ana winds are not like any other winds that
they know. The winds are local and will bring a horrendous, unexplainable vibes in the

The Impacts Of The Japanese Internment Of Japanese Americans
On February 19th, 1942 in the midst of world war two 120,000 Americans were put prison for their
ethnic background. These people may have been of Japanese descent but I am steadfast in the belief
that they were no less american than anyone else. The interment of the Japanese americans was a
racist, unjust, and illogical act the will forever leave a stain on america s honor as a nation. Moving
on, the interment of the Japanese Americans was a immensely racist action primarily for its
indifference to other races. The internment of Japanese Americans only imprisoned those of Japanese
descent. Furthermore, America justified this as a war act but the war was not against japan, it was
against Japan, Italy, and Germany. Now one would ask, were people ... Show more content on

The internment of Japanese Americans includes people of all heights, sizes, and ages. With this being
said, some people many not have been physically or mentally ready for being incarcerated. As a result
nearly 1,900 Japanese americans died in internment camps. May it be by natural causes or unnatural
causes the chaos and stress of relocating indisputably ushered it on. Furthermore the relocation hurt
the west coast economically. Without the Japanese businesses and employees companies had to find
new workers and new businesses to receive goods from. Also with japanese people gone so was a
major chunk of money with them. With a loss in money the west coast must have suffered a kind of
mini depression. In other words becauses there was less money circulating the west coast the value of
money shoots upward. Next, since store prices are not yet calibrated to this new total money people
will run out of money causes the store prices to rise because the stores are not getting enough money.
Lastly the imprisonment of the japanese americans cost more money than it was worth. To imprison
120,000 people it takes several million if not billion, some of these some of these costs are attributed
from meals, transportation, water, electricity, building, military supervision. Overall the incarceration
of 120,000 Japanese americans is an action that America will regret for the

Civil Rights Argumentative Essay
he basis of most Republican opposition to the 1964 law, even from GOP members of Congress who
backed the 1957 and 1960 Civil Rights bills signed by President Dwight Eisenhower, was discomfort
about forcing private business to comply with public accommodation laws. Few Republicans
expressed any qualms about requiring things like public busses and government buildings to integrate.
Because Republicans had been the party of civil rights and liked more in it than they didn t, they voted
for it. Democrats were split. It was Democrats that used a herculean effort to block it through
filibusters. Some local municipalities and governments in the South had laws prohibiting private
business owners from serving black customers. Goldwater wanted to end ... Show more content on

But the legislation, the first civil rights bill since Reconstruction, was considered watered down in
order to overcome a Democrat filibuster. Eisenhower in his last year in office signed the 1960 Civil
Right Act to strengthen enforcement of the 1957 law, extending the life of the Civil Rights
Commission and produced penalties for anyone who obstructed voter registration. Like the previous
bill, this legislation had also been watered down. The earliest bill to be called the Civil Rights Act
came in 1866, guaranteeing all Americans equal protection under the law. It was the 1875 Civil Rights
Act that allowed Americans to have access to public accommodations such as restaurants and public
transportation. But the law wasn t enforced and the Supreme Court struck it down in 1883. The 1964
Civil Rights Act was based on the GOP s 1875 Civil Rights Act. Many liberals these days like to
pretend that the 1964 Civil Rights Act was the creation of the Kennedy or Johnson administrations,
but in fact it was an extension of the Republican Party s 1957 and 1960 Civil Rights Acts. It was clear
that distinguished leaders of the Democrat Party were the opponents like Fulbright, Byrd, and Gore,

The Importance Of Stereotyping
How Negative Stereotypes can be Harmful A stereotype is a cognitive shortcut that allows the brain to
make snap judgments based on immediately visible characteristics such as gender, race, or age
(Bolton). It could often lead to incomplete assumptions about other people based on characteristics
within a specific group of people. For example, the stereotype that girls are bad at math can lead to the
suggestion that some innate difference between women and men leads to this discrepancy (Bolton).
Stereotyping can be negative because it can affect the way people are treated based on race, social
class, and gender. According to Claude Steele, The reason is that we have a lot of identities our
gender, our race, our age. And about each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Classism is when a person is being treated differently, for better or worse, based on their social class.
Prejudice against members of other social classes leads to fear of unwanted influences by the other
groups. For example, people of higher status do not generally mix with lower status people and often
are able to control other people s activities by influencing laws and social standards ( Social Class
Prejudice ). These perspectives are being passed on from one generation to another.
Gender stereotyping refers to attributes or characteristics that are possessed by a woman or a man.
This type of stereotype can be harmful to people because it can affect the develop that he/she has.
Also, it can be a violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms. According to Steve Craig s
research (1997), Women can be presented in commercials in several variants. The first one is the most
popular: a housewife obsessed by a steam on a new tablecloth or a woman whose main problem is
lack of ideas for dinner (Wolska). Men and women in the workforce look for jobs that are attached to
their gender. For example, many women are hired in the hospitality industry because women are

Explain The Four Major Responsibilities Of A Paramedic
Title: Four major responsibilities of a Paramedic
Paramedics are known to be cool and calm when responding to emergency situations. It is because
they are skilled, knowledgeable and expert medical professionals who went through series of EMT
training courses. They provide care to injured patients like what actual doctors and nurses in the
hospitals do. In today s time, paramedics are allowed to work beyond their scope of position and
location. It means that they can work at schools, company, hospital and other special units such as
cruise ships, airlines, helicopters and military camps. Their job is not easy, they save lives even in
difficult situations. That s why they are also considered as one of the highest paid professionals all

They immediately respond to an emergency call from the victims or concerned individuals. In United
States, when someone calls 911 for help, paramedics are being dispatched to provide immediate care.
They are readily available to respond and give first aid duties to the sick and injured people.
Paramedics are not only good in medical situations; they are also trained to minimize commotion and
accidents like fires and domestic abuse in the society.
Helping other Medical Professionals
Generally, the role of every paramedic is to provide care to the sick and injured outside the hospitals.
However, their roles are limited since most serious emergency situations require immediate hospital
care. When serious situations come, the role of paramedics is to assist doctors and nurses by giving
them pertinent assessment data.
Charity Service
The responsibility of paramedics does not apply during emergency cases alone. They are also known
to provide humanitarian service to needy people. Paramedics coordinate to other medical professionals
to conduct several medical missions to help people who can t afford medical care. They are also

chance of recovery from their state of mind, and will be in the institution forever. Chronics are in for
good, the staff concedes. Chronics are divided into Walkers, Wheelers, and Vegetables (16). The
acutes are described as people that have a chance of being cured and released from the institute. These
patients are somewhat functional people with slight mental instabilities, the doctors still figure them
sick enough to be fixed (15). This community includes Dale Harding, Billy Bibbit, Charles Cheswick,

Essay about Use of Metaphor inThe Death of the Moth by...
The essay The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf, is a piece of literature that describes the physical
struggle of a dying moth and also, an inner struggle that the writer is experiencing as well. Through
these struggles that each of the characters in the story endures, the audience sees a connection through
both subjects. Analyzing and describing this complex essay structure can be done by evaluating the
meaning and metaphors used by the author to portray the message of the story, which will allow the
audience to comprehend what the true meaning of the essay is and come to understand the lesson of
the story. Analyzing the content or idea of the essay can lead into understanding the structure of the

The window being open indicates that she wants the life and the energy of nature to occupy her
workroom, but the irony in that is she does get a little piece of life in the moth that comes to the
window. Instead of the moth living on, it goes through a struggle and eventually death. The writer sees
a little piece of life come on go so quickly that death to her was now strange, and death became
stronger than the moth. This story connects the two characters, the moth and the writer, because the
writer herself is going through an inner struggle to overcome distraction while the moth is also going
through a struggle, yet it is a physical struggle to try and overcome death. Woolf constructs this essay
in a way for the audience to understand the journey of the struggles that each of the characters
experiences. Woolf utilizes the elements of composure in her writings to help the audience follow the
essay and the logic behind her thoughts. She connects all of her points in her essay through simple
structure of each paragraph, which ultimately ties the whole piece together as a whole. Woolf uses the
classic technique of putting the topic sentence at the beginning of each paragraph. While staying with
this structure, she also puts her concluding sentence at the end of each paragraph so her thoughts from

Throughout the novel The Fountainhead, Peter Keating is in love with a minor character named
Catherine Halsey. Peter goes weeks without speaking to Catherine whom he calls Katie but she does
not seem to mind and instead waits for him. She does not value herself but tends to overlook the flaws
in others, only viewing their potential. Catherine brings out another side in Peter and it is obvious that
she is special to him. However, his selfless acts may cause him to betray his love for her. Ayn Rand
show s Keating s love for Catherine in many different ways within the novel. When Peter goes to visit

Chronicles Of Narnia Power Corruption Essay
When does power get to be to much, is it when we feel it surging through our veins or is it when we
are given a chance to be the boss of others? It could be either but power can ruin great people. Does
power corrupt? Yes it does, power is something that can take down a person within seconds. Power is
sneaky, tricky, and imperfect. Not all are corrupted by power but most are. Two people who
unquestionably let power take them over are Hitler and Jadis also know as the White Witch in C.S.

The IRR and NPV only changed a small percentage.
Assistant Plant Manager: Although the Assistant Plant Manager made a few good points about EPC, I
agree with the executive committee on the refusal to accept the EPC project. Due to the economic
grounds of this project there isn t a way that you could be able to make this happen, especially with
the recession. Along with that, because it has a negative NPV it is not a wise decision to make even if
you add it to the polypropylene line renovations. Although the improved cash flow would be great, the
executive committee is correct on rejecting the project.
Treasury Staff: Explain to the treasury staff that 10% discount rate is a fair number to use because it is
mentioned in the capital budgeting manual. When addressing the treasury staff, talk about what was
meant by the comment and understand why they want to use 7% for the rate of return.
The Merseyside Project seems to be very attractive to me. The numbers of the project I find to be the
most attractive and a reason behind why I believe you should continue to promote the project for
funding. The criteria I looked at to determine its attractiveness was: (1) NPV and IRR of both my
exhibit and also Greystock s and (2) Requirements met by the Project.
NPV and IRR: When examining the NPV and the IRR of the Merseyside project, the numbers were
very attractive. It had a positive net present value and an IRR above 10 percent. By these numbers,

Analysis Of The Movie The Princess Bride
As you wish High adventure and true love are two of the best things you could ever hope to find in a
story, states Goldman, Author of The Princess Bride. In 1987 director Rod Reiner brought this classic
tale to the big screen. The movie adaptation perfectly brings to life the ever enduring love between the
protagonists, Westley and Buttercup. Throughout the film the pair is faced with numerous trials and
tribulations that could easily shake the bond between the lovers, yet they prevail. The Princess Bride is
a classic tale of romance, one that acquired quite the cult following, but most watch for the quick
quips or flashy sword fights; few bother to delve deeper into the film s underlying message. This essay
will explore how Goldman uses literary elements such as conflict, characterization, and mood to
convey the somewhat cliché theme of the work. This movie is easily one of the greatest examples of
love conquering all obstacles. The films begins with a grandfather reading The Princess Bride to his
sick grandson. Reiner utilizes the grandfather as a narrator throughout the movie. Scenes are often
interrupted by the inquisitive grandson asking probing questions in shocked dismay, such as, Is this a
kissing book? The use of an omniscient narrator allows for clarification for the audience without
making the story seem unnatural. He is there to provide necessary background information as well as
reassure viewers during moments of tension and conflict.

Music And Censorship In Rock And Roll Music
Censorship has long been an issue in Rock and Roll music. Although our American society celebrates
classic rock that emerged in the 60 s and 70 s, today, artists such as: The Rolling Stones, The Beatles,
The Doors, The Sex Pistols, and Bob Dylan were harshly judged for their music and image they
projected because some members of society feared they were too suggestive, or just completely
inappropriate. These rebellious artists fought against their music being censored in the best ways for
their bands. The Rolling Stones was one of the first bands of the 60 s to have their song (I Can t Get
No) Satisfaction banned from the radio due to the fact that some could consider it indecent (Rutledge
Borger, 2012). The Stones music was enjoyed by many, but the lyrics had the potential to spark
controversy, especially during live performances. Producers and planners of live performances were
more conservative and cautious of keeping television clean and suitable for all ages, and would go to
great lengths to make sure that all was kept modest. That is exactly what happened on The Ed Sullivan
Show on September 11, 1967. The Rolling Stones were allowed to perform on the show as long as
they agreed that they would change the let s spend the night together lyrics to a more appropriate let s
spend some time together (Richin, 2015). There is footage of the Stones performance on The Ed

Religion During The Medieval Era And The Renaissance Era
During the medieval era and the Renaissance era people had different perspectives on how they
viewed their world. The people during the medieval ages were very religious and relied on the church,
which held a lot of power. As well as, the development of feudalism created a divided society with a
fixed social hierarchy, with the lord at the top and peasants at the bottom. In the Renaissance they had
more individualistic views and separated their views from the church. They believed they could
achieve excellence through individual efforts and not through the church. The two authors in the
primary sources had very different viewpoints on how they perceived their world. Hadewijch letters
and poems describe the love she has for God and He will reward them with love if they crave it.
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote about the class system and discussed religious issues during the Renaissance
era. Each discuss the world they saw and they show how different the time periods were between the
two and how religion played a key role in their own society. There are different because religion
changed the way they thought of life and literature made education important to those in the medieval
era. The medieval era concentrated on salvation and the afterlife and in order to obtain that hey needed

15 million years ago, Australia converged with Asia, uniting the diverse flora and fauna of both
regions (Schulte 2003; Whitmore 1981). It was then the continuous separation of these two
landmasses that has dynamically shaped the present day distribution of unique ecosystems and species
found on the Asian and Australian continents, as well as on the islands in the Malay Archipelago.
When Wallace drew his hypothetical line to define the boundary between Asian and Australian
zoology, he had an incomplete understanding of continental drift and plate tectonics. He only used
morphological observations of cockatoos found on Lombork and Bali, and of parrots found on Borneo
and Sulawesi, to support the placement of his line

The Role Of The Axis Of Resistance In Iran
Iranian Shi a militants, the Assad regime in Syria, the Sunni Hamas, and the Lebanese Hezbollah have
all joined together to fight against western influence, such as that of the US, and Israel, in their
regions. Former President George W. Bush called them The Axis of Evil . This name was used around
the United States and around the world for some time. In 2010, however, they became known as the
Axis of Resistance after a Libyan news journalist used this to refer to them in his news article (CBS
News). In this group Iran has always been a major supplier of finances, training and equipment to all
remembers of the resistance group. Every year they give up to two million dollars to the Hezbollah
alone. In 2006, after the attack on Hezbollah, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ISIL has no broken away from their original task and the group is now spreading terror all over the
world. Their self proclaimed goal, along with ISIS, is to create a world where ever region is ruled by
an Islamic ruler, or a caliph. It is currently trying to maintain and expand its existence in Iraq and
Syria, as well as trying to create foundations in other areas all around the world. While the Axis of
Resistance are in support of keeping westernization out of their regions, they are not in favor of world
domination. They do not support the terror that these groups have caused to places, like France, who
in the eyes of the Axis are not the enemy. The Axis of Resistance is a group of armed forces from Iran,
Syria, and the Lebanese Hezbollah. They are against the United States westernization of their regions
and Israel. While they maybe against the westernization, they do not agree with ISIS and ISIL s plans
of world domination. They fight against the United States and its movements, but are also fighting the
terrors of ISIS and ISIL. The Axis is primarily funded and equipped by Iran, but the others help. They
have a strong bond and continue to help each

The Distinguished Gentleman s Freakonomics
Freakonomics, published in 2005, is a book centered around the belief that traditional intelligence is
not the key to economics. It focuses on the correlations between a person s morals, wisdom, and social
life and economics. In the movie The Distinguished Gentleman, a con man uses the death of a
Congressman to boost his own campaign using the same name. As the movie progresses, the former
con man begins to see the true corruption of politics.
One of the major key concepts discussed in Freakonomics is about conventional wisdom. What is
thought to be conventional wisdom, is also usually thought as they key to success in economic and
social issues. However, in the book the idea of incentives, and collecting and interpreting data are said
to be extremely important. With incentives, whether they be money, guaranteed ... Show more content

It was not all just the hard facts about economics with various graphs and statistics, but actually
engaged the reader. Each chapter would have what would seem like ridiculous examples of
economics, such as Why Do Drug Dealers Still Live With Their Moms , or How Is the Ku Klux Klan
Like a Group of Real Estate Agents? , but within their explanations, the reader could come to their
own conclusions. The Distinguished Gentleman had an interesting character development, where the
con man within the group of conning Congressmen suddenly becomes one of the better people, one
with integrity and actually wants to see things get

It has taken a toll in the way operations systems work in many corporations and health industries. Many corporations invest millions of dollars with a clear vision of the effective improvements they will be able to make with a system of operation that is fast, secure, and saves time. The term saves time means, a system is able to have one person do the job instead of 2 or 3 different staff members. The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Human Services (HS) Domain was established by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and recognized by the NIEM Executive Steering Council in March, 2012 to support information sharing and promote interoperability between and beyond Human Service organizations in connection with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies. The initial scope of the NIEM HS Domain will be determined by the HS Domain Governance Group. • 3. Fog Pathway The Fog pathway drives actin and myosin apical constriction In developmental biology an important objective is to understand how cells behave to shape tissues that produce highly organized embryos. Epithelial morphogenesis is a process driven by actin and myosin apical constriction that results in sheets of cells rearranging to form defined structures. The Drosophila Folded in gastrulation (Fog) pathway is one of the best developmental signaling pathways in demonstrating this process. During gastrulation, the epithelial cells undergo a range of morphogenetic mechanisms to form the ventral furrow (VF) and the posterior midgut (PMG). This process begins with Dorsal, a maternal factor, activating Twist and Snail transcription factors which in turn activates the transcription of the secreted ligand Fog that is a zygotic factor expressed in presumptive mesoderm and posterior midgut primordium. Fog in turn activates Concertina (Cta), a Gα12/13 homologue through an unknown membrane receptor that leads to the activation of RhoGEF, which is recruited to the apical membrane by T48 protein. RhoGEF2 then activates Rho1, a small GTPase, activating the Rho pathway and its components such as Rho kinase (Rok), non muscle myosin II, and actin, leading to apical constriction and actin myosin based cell shape ... From S2 cells, S2R+ cells that contracted in response to Fog were engineered. The S2R+ cells did not contract during RNAi mediated depletion of proteins in the pathway, such as Cta, RhoGEF2, or Rho1, indicating that the pathway has been reconstructed in these cells. The Fog receptor mist was identified by performing a targeted RNAi screen in the S2R+ cells and individually depleting 138 GPCRs in the Drosophila genome. • 4. The Controversy Of Capital Punishment The Controversy of Capital Punishment Capital punishment, or the death penalty, is a form of punishment that has been used as far back as the Colonial Era in America. Although it has been around for the entirety of American history, most of the scrutiny and controversy involving capital punishment arose in the 1972 Supreme Court Case of Furman v. Georgia, in which it was abolished, but quickly returned in 1977. It is evident that many citizens have ambivalent stances on capital punishment; some believing it is necessary form of punishment while others believe that the death penalty is a violation of the Eighth Amendment. Although capital punishment has been used throughout history and is seen by many as a form of justified punishment, there are many reasons in favor of ending the death penalty completely. Capital punishment is an unnecessary evil that should be found unconstitutional because of it is not practical, it is corrupt, and it is unable to deter further homicides from being committed. A brief history explaining the verdicts made by the Supreme Court regarding capital punishment in American history needs to be made to understand why capital punishment has become such a national issue in contemporary America. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Green House Effect We as a society have reached one of the most crucial time periods in the history of our world. Due to the way we have used the resources on this earth we have created a situation in which our climate is drastically changing. The burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil has caused gases like carbon dioxide to become trapped in the atmosphere causing a natural greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect has caused the earth s average temperature to rise and has resulted in arctic glaciers melting. These glaciers had gases trapped inside them that are now being released into the atmosphere further raising the earth s temperature. Due to the way we are polluting our air we have caused global warming. This global warming has caused stronger natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires putting our society in more danger than ever before. Joseph Fournier came up with the idea of the greenhouse effect in 1824. In the late 1950 s Charles Keeling created a tool in Mauna Loa Hawaii to measure the amount of carbon dioxide being trapped in the atmosphere due to the greenhouse effect. This tool has discovered a steady increase in the carbon dioxide levels over the last fifty years in what has become known as the Keeling Curve . Keeling discovered that about twenty five percent of the carbon dioxide molecules in our atmosphere are man made. These carbon dioxide molecules being trapped in the atmosphere are raising earth s temperature at a dangerous rate. Many in the science ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Evaluation Of Rehabilitation For Patellar Dislocation This paper is a review of rehabilitation for patellar dislocation. Patellar dislocation occurs when the patella slips out of the patellofemoral (trochlear) groove, most often laterally (Cheatham, Kolber, Hanney, 2014; Enix, Sudkamp, Scali, 2015). This can occur from direct trauma such as sudden mechanical forces exerted on the patella (Respizzi, Cavallin, 2014; Duignan McGibney et.al., 2016). The injury can also be the result of indirect trauma such as when the foot is fixed on the ground and biomechanical abnormalities of the lower leg come into effect (Respizzi Cavallin et.al., 2014 et.al., 2014; Duignan McGibney et.al., 2016). Lateral patellar dislocation primarily affects younger active populations (between 10 and 17 years old) and usually occurs due to injury during physical activity (Balcarek, Oberthür, Frosch, Schüttrumpf, Stürmer 2014; Ménétrey, Putman, Gard, 2014; Tsai, Hsu, Hung, Hsu, 2012; Lehman, Beckman, Craig, 1989; Calapodopulos, Nogueira, Eustáquio, Calapodopulos Júnior, Rodrigues, 2016; Petri, 2015; Cheatham et.al., 2014; Enix et.al., 2015). 55% 72% of first time patellar dislocations occur from sports (Tsai et.al., 2012; Petri et.al., 2015). Studies have also shown that women are more prone to patellar dislocations than men (Vitale, 2016; Tsai et.al., 2012; Duignan McGibney, 2016; Calapodopulos, 2016; Cheatham et.al., 2014; Enix et.al., 2015). Tennis Is On The Right Track By Giving Equal Prize Money People pretend it doesn t exist they deny that after all these years racism isn t happening but it is still happening and very much alive. Tennis prides itself on being innovators. People think tennis is on the right track by giving equal prize money to both male and females and giving both genders equal opportunity in television and media coverage but the fact remains that tennis wouldn t fully be there until they take that one step and drop the racism. This may seem like an impossible task but with lots of joint effort with the general public, fans and the people involved in the sport racism can be decreased. Tennis is a predominantly white sport and with the success of the Williams sister s barriers have begun to dissolve but it s still an issue that needs fixing. Tennis has a long standing history that like many other sports has been around for a long time. There is thin evidence to suggest that tennis has been around for thousands of years suggesting that the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans had played it (Barzum). However, for many tennis is known to have really begun in London in 1874 Major Walter C. Wingfield patented the game of tennis (Barzum). That same year saw the tournament at Wimbledon be played for the first time but at this time it was only men that were allowed to participate. Ten years later in 1884 women were finally able to participate at Wimbledon (Barzum). Tennis 100 percent a white mans sport until 1968 the beginning of the open era of tennis when ... It is firmly identified to the wonder of language acquisition the route in which we as a whole take in our native language as children. Knowing two languages instead of one is beneficial. However, in recent years, researchers have started to explain how the advantages of bilingualism are significantly more crucial than having the ability to speak with a bigger group of people. Research has demonstrated that the brains of children who are bilingual grow better intellectual capabilities. Researchers who inspected the wonder gave it a peculiar name the bilingual advantage. The mind of the speaker rapidly gets used to overseeing two languages at once. This creates abilities for capacities extending from inhibition, working memory and switching attention. All these psychological aptitudes affect the mind s official control framework, which for the most part deals with activities dealing with high level thought. Since bilingual individuals continually switch between their two languages, they re probably going to likewise be better at exchanging between various tasks. • 12. Analysis Of The Cinema Of Attraction By Tom Gunning Early films were created with audience reception in mind. Tom Gunning, author of Cinema of Attraction, theorizes filmmakers goal to create a film that gripped the audiences attention and amazed them create a spectacle. Therefore, early cinema did not have a narrative structure. They were most often short films, such as those of the Lumiere Brothers, that were actualities; 40 to 50 second films that showed actualities or activities representative of everyday life, such as playing cards, drinking beer, or a moving train. Gunning asserts the period of early cinema began in 1895 and lasted until 1906/1907, when narrativization of cinema became a trend. Although the mode of storytelling changed in later decades, some films retained the spectacular qualities central to early cinema. In this essay, I will discuss Gunning s argument that early cinema was a spectacle or a tamed attraction. I personally think that Heroditus version of the Trojan War is the closest to the truth. When he was writing his Histories he had access to sources we did not, like the priests he mentioned in the above quotation. His version of events, though it may not be completely accurate, is highly feasible and fits with our existing knowledge of the Mycenaean period. Archaeological evidence If Homer s writings are central to our understanding of the Trojan War, so are Heinrich Schliemann s digs. His name is synonymous with Troy. Fascinated with Homer, he made it his mission to discover Troy, and eventually did. However, his problems with convincing his fellow academics and archaeologists that he had indeed Troy is similar to the problem we have with defining what the Trojan War actually is. Homer s Trojan War could not have possibly happened as it is laid out in the Iliad and the Odyssey. There are jarring incongruities between what happens in his epics, and what happened in that period of Greek history. In like manner, if Apollo vouchsafe me glory and I slay your champion, I will strip him of his armour and take it to the city of Ilius, where I will hang it in the temple of Apollo, but I will give up his body, that the Achaeans may bury him at their ships, and the build him a mound by the wide waters of ... Eisenhower in his last year in office signed the 1960 Civil Right Act to strengthen enforcement of the 1957 law, extending the life of the Civil Rights Commission and produced penalties for anyone who obstructed voter registration. Like the previous bill, this legislation had also been watered down. The earliest bill to be called the Civil Rights Act came in 1866, guaranteeing all Americans equal protection under the law. It was the 1875 Civil Rights Act that allowed Americans to have access to public accommodations such as restaurants and public transportation. But the law wasn t enforced and the Supreme Court struck it down in 1883. The 1964 Civil Rights Act was based on the GOP s 1875 Civil Rights Act. The Importance Of Stereotyping How Negative Stereotypes can be Harmful A stereotype is a cognitive shortcut that allows the brain to make snap judgments based on immediately visible characteristics such as gender, race, or age (Bolton). For example, the stereotype that girls are bad at math can lead to the suggestion that some innate difference between women and men leads to this discrepancy (Bolton). Analysis Of The Movie The Princess Bride As you wish High adventure and true love are two of the best things you could ever hope to find in a story, states Goldman, Author of The Princess Bride. In 1987 director Rod Reiner brought this classic tale to the big screen. The movie adaptation perfectly brings to life the ever enduring love between the protagonists, Westley and Buttercup. Throughout the film the pair is faced with numerous trials and tribulations that could easily shake the bond between the lovers, yet they prevail. The Princess Bride is a classic tale of romance, one that acquired quite the cult following, but most watch for the quick quips or flashy sword fights; few bother to delve deeper into the film s underlying message. This essay will explore how Goldman uses literary elements such as conflict, characterization, and mood to convey the somewhat cliché theme of the work. This movie is easily one of the greatest examples of love conquering all obstacles. The films begins with a grandfather reading The Princess Bride to his sick grandson. Reiner utilizes the grandfather as a narrator throughout the movie. Scenes are often interrupted by the inquisitive grandson asking probing questions in shocked dismay, such as, Is this a kissing book? The use of an omniscient narrator allows for clarification for the audience without making the story seem unnatural. He is there to provide necessary background information as well as reassure viewers during moments of tension and conflict. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although our American society celebrates classic rock that emerged in the 60 s and 70 s, today, artists such as: The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Doors, The Sex Pistols, and Bob Dylan were harshly judged for their music and image they projected because some members of society feared they were too suggestive, or just completely inappropriate. These rebellious artists fought against their music being censored in the best ways for their bands. The Rolling Stones was one of the first bands of the 60 s to have their song (I Can t Get No) Satisfaction banned from the radio due to the fact that some could consider it indecent (Rutledge Borger, 2012). The Stones music was enjoyed by many, but the lyrics had the potential to spark controversy, especially during live performances. Producers and planners of live performances were more conservative and cautious of keeping television clean and suitable for all ages, and would go to great lengths to make sure that all was kept modest. That is exactly what happened on The Ed Sullivan Show on September 11, 1967.
