This document outlines a research study that will examine the correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension among second year students at SMA NEGERI 1 RILAU ALE’ KAB. BULUKUMBA in Indonesia. The study aims to test the hypothesis that there is a significant correlation between students' vocabulary knowledge and their ability to understand written texts. It will use a correlational research design and collect data through multiple choice vocabulary and reading comprehension tests administered to a sample of students selected through simple random sampling. Statistical analysis using correlation methods and SPSS software will then determine if a relationship exists between students' vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension. The results could provide useful information about how vocabulary achievement impacts reading performance.
