The Collapse Of The Ottoman Empire
Introduction
The Ottoman empire was a mighty empire that ruled form 1299 1918. With its humble beginnings in
the 12th century to become the most powerful empire in Europe the 16th century under the caliph
Suleiman the magnificent, however like all empires the Ottomans reached a stage of stagnation.
Although the Ottomans collapsed at the end of WW1, the main factors contributing the collapse begun
in the 17th century where the Ottoman empire s gradual process of decline started.
This essay will explore the most notable factors that contributed to the collapse of the Ottoman
empire. Beginning with the political situation in the 17th century and the attempted solution to solve
the issue of succession which at times crippled the empire. The economic decline which went parallel
with the political one with the empire no longer able to attain its wealth form the military expeditions
and the influx of silver from Europe casing the inflation issues leading to the capitalisations with the
European nations. The factor of the religious and social situation in the 19th century and its effects on
the central government and the empires minorities. The rise of nationalism throughout Europe which
made its way to the Ottoman empire ensuring its destruction.
Paragraph 1
One of the major factors that contributed to the collapse of the ottoman Empire was the issue of
succession within the empire. Since the birth of the Ottoman Empire, the sultan was the central figure
having to make decisions in all aspects of the empire from military, economic and political decisions.
The Ottoman empire was a dynasty so whenever the sultan had died one of the sons will take charge
of the throne, the sons of the sultan will serve as governors within the empire gaining the required
experience needed to take the pivotal role of the sultan. in most cases the successor was chosen by the
sultan before his death however when this was not done it caused some problems as to who will take
charge of the throne. After the father had died often the sons would fight bloody civil wars as to who
will take power crippling the empire.
Seeking to solve this devastating problem Sultan Ahmad I (Sultan from 1603 1617) proposed solution.
He implemented to new

Taking a Look at Structural Violence
Structural violence on the other is the type of violence, one experienced by the Adivasi because of a
national water dam project, the violence of nationalism becomes explicit both through the categories
of poor who are deemed appropriate to neglect and through the failure to help those who are not
considered part of the national community (Gupta, 19). In fact it would be more accurate to say that
the structural violence the Adivasi experience was due to State policies and practices, which came to
light because of the Narmada Sardar Sarovar Dam project. Baviskar describes the village of Ajanvara
a is remarkably egalitarian. Each man who is the part of the patriarchal lineage of the village has been
given cultivable piece of land meaning there are no landless farmers and no waged laborers. Baviskar
accredits Anjanvara s strong bond of reciprocity with neighboring clans and villages to intricate webs
of kinship and marriage. The reciprocity and collective sharing of labor or laah have an important
implication in the politics of honor in the Bhilala community. Being an egalitarian society, the Bhilala
community members pursue power and status by accumulation of symbolic capital. The tendency to
accumulate power through symbolic capital such as honor is done given the constraints of economic
ways of demonstrating it and because of the egalitarian nature of the community, but just because
nature of the society does not exclude women from patriarchal forms of power. The status

Why I Want To Attend College Essay
College comes at you quicker than you could imagine. And with being a junior in high school, college
is all you think of. Sometimes the more you think about what you want to do the more stressful it can
get. But you have to keep an idea of what career you ll want to pursue. East Tennessee State, Coastal
Carolina, and the University of South Carolina offer many programs that would lead you to want to
attend their university. First, East Tennessee State is great school to go to and it offers many programs
and extracurricular activities. ETSU tuition is $27,693 if you re from out of state (ETSU Admissions).
You re required to have 4 units of english and math, any natural/physical science, U.S. history, a single

At East Tennessee State, if a person has 3 or more tardies they are sent to talk to the dean (ETSU
Policies). And it s better for someone to know what type of rules they have beforehand. Learning all
about East Tennessee State has definitely made me consider going there. Second, Coastal Carolina is a
great choice for someone choosing to go to college. The tuition for the school is $10,696 ( Coastal
Carolina Tuition and Fees). The school has has its required classes that a student has to take before
they can come, which are 4 units of English, 4 units of math, 3 units of science, 2 units of the same
foreign language, 3 units of social science, 1 unit of fine arts, 1 elective, 1 unit of PE or ROTC (CCU
Freshman Admission Requirements). Graduation within four years at Coastal Carolina University isn t
really high with 27.0% (College Factual). There they have an enrollment of 9,474 students (US

The Fifth Amendment Is The Amendment
The 6th amendment is the amendment where a person is able to a speedy and public trial by an
impartial jury in the state or district crime is committed, can get informed about why you are in court,
you also have a right to an attorney if you cannot afford one then one should be appointed to you. i
will also be explain how even the people who are not even united states citizens have the right to the
sixth amendment. There are major cases that i will go over that will help cement what the sixth
amendment is how it can make or break a case. How the case has changed with everything that is
going on in the United States so i will talk about that. The sixth amendment is the right to speedy trial
and public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district where crime committed, Informed of the
nature and case of the accusation against them, To be confronted by the witness Against them, To have
compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in their favor have the assistance of counsel for their
defense. The sixth amendment was created and passed in 1789 when the bill of rights were accepted
and passed, and then in 1891 congress went back and ratified the amendment. Congress passed this
amendment because they felt that the British were ruling and not treating the criminals not fairly when
it came to sentencing. The founding fathers also wanted to protect the rights of the accused; it also

Wind Change In Black Saturday
When considering what results in a higher magnitude bushfire, it is also important to consider the
longer term events leading up to the disaster. Figure 11 illustrates that the weather events that occurred
before leading up to Black Saturday can be strongly linked to the large amount of destruction caused.
From both figures, it can be noted that a wind change affected the path and development of fires. In
the case of Black Saturday, this extended the fire front, increasing the magnitude of the disaster. It is
believed that the wind change of the Crib Point fire helped to prevent a large amount of destruction in
some areas, while causing it some in others. With this being said, the wind change in Crib point
prevented it from advancing so quickly,

Titration Of A Strong Acid
It is believed that a strong acid that is titrated with a strong base will produce a resultant solution has a
pH that is slightly over 7. This is because strong acids have a lower pH and solutions that are less
basic than weak acids that have been titrated with strong bases. When a weak acid is titrated with a
strong base it will produce a resultant solution that is well above 7 because it starts off with a higher
pH. Acids and bases with high concentrations result in large changes in pH, while acids and bases with
low concentrations result in smaller changes in pH.
1. The titration curve would stop at the equivalence point. This is because the indicator changes the
solutions colour at this point.
2. In order to titrate with antacids (solid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would take less NaOH to neutralize CH3COOH compared with the amount of NaOH required to
neutralize HCl acid. This is because acetic acid is a weak acid has a stronger conjugate base. This by
product helps to raise the pH to 7, a neutral level. HCl is a strong acid and has a weaker conjugate
base. This by product is not very effective in helping to neutralize the acid. CH3COOH also starts off
with a higher pH since it is weaker; this means that it is closer to the neutral pH level than HCl is.
6. The pH of HCl at equivalence point is less than the pH of CH3COOH at equivalence point. This is
because HCl starts at a lower pH level than CH3COOH, since it is a strong acid.
7. To classify an acid as either a strong acid or weak base you can test how they react with water. If the
acid is strong, it will ionize completely. If the acid is weak it will only partially ionize when
introduced to water.
9. If the acid is strong, the titration curve will have a lower equivalence point than a weak acid. If it is
a monoprotic acid, there will only be one equivalence point, while polyprotic titration curves will
include several equivalence

Grade Inflation Is The Biggest Issue
Is Grade Inflation Truly The Biggest Issue? Grade inflation, the belief that students are receiving
grades that they haven t worked for and therefore don t deserve. But what s so wrong about grade
inflation? When learning about this subject we also open the doors to learning about the multitude of
other problems plaguing our educational system that could use our attention much more than grade
inflation does. Through grade inflation we re able to understand problems often forgotten about and
looked over. When researching into the topic of grade inflation one begins to see a multitude of
problems arise that have been previously ignored and have been left to continue wreaking havoc on
the educational system. Mark Oppenheimer shares a similar points of view in his article where he
discussed his opinion, that grade inflation is one of the much lesser issues and that we need to be
focusing on other things.(other things, just quote his article). His ideas are countered by the ideas of
people such as Rojstaczer who argue that grade inflation is becoming an out of control issue that needs
to be fixed (add in quotes from the book and article) In the past colleges like Princeton and Wellesley
have tried to adopt policies to help curb grade inflation. Even though it lowered the percentages of
high grades, effectively lowering the amount of grade inflation, it came with the cost of unforeseen
consequences that affected the students and staff. In his article Rojstaczer

Impoverishment Of The Working Class In The Jungle, By...
In The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, the author depicts how the exploitation and impoverishment of the
working class contributes to political corruption, health problems, crime, and unemployment.
Throughout the novel, Jurgis encounters many different people, one of them being Mike Scully, the
richest man in Packingtown. Political bosses like Scully create the reputation for corruption in
Chicago. He has control over the poorer parts of the city, and uses this to his advantage. An example
being when he meets Jurgis, and convinces him to bribe other people, mainly poor workers, to vote for
the Republican, so that Scully would be guaranteed the winning spot in the following election.
Throughout the novel, corruption increases. In the beginning, there are only slight hints, like when
very few people forget to leave money so Jurgis and Ona can pay for the wedding feast. However, by
the end, Jurgis has been a thief, strikebreaker, and has participated in rigging an election. Jurgis and
his family have very bad luck, and under the conditions they live in, Getting sick is extremely easy,
and getting treatment is extremely hard. Jurgis gets hurt multiple times at work because of a dangerous
environment, and is forced to stay home without receiving any pay. Sickness and disease spreads
quickly among the poor workers, a reason being the extremely poor hygiene at the factories where
they all work, and they also can not afford good enough health care. Ona dies while giving birth in her

Smart Fat Research Paper
Fat is often labeled as the reason for obesity however it seems like there is sufficient proof that fat in
itself does not cause weight gain. In 1977, the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human
Needs recommended a dietary guideline that limited fat intake to no more than 30% per day.
According to statistics, the instances of obesity started to increase around the same time fat was
villanized and low fat products became more popular. Furthermore, similar studies claim that the war
on fat led people to substitute butter and lard with processed low fat food which are high in artificial
flavoring and sugar.
More and more health enthusiasts are learning that not all fat is bad for the body. In fact, recently Dr.
Jonny Bowden and Dr. Steven Masley, a nutrition experts, published their book entitled Smart Fat,
which details the benefits of consuming the right kind of fat to losing weight. ... Show more content

He explained that Masley have seen firsthand what fat deprivation does to the body and according to
him, it is not good.
He further explains that their Smart Fat diet plan has one basic principle five portions of smart fat, five
portions of clean proteins and 10 servings of fiber. He claims that most of the pitfalls of people who
embrark on a high fat, low carb diet is not including enough fiber in their meal plan. According to the
doctor, fiber helps in the weight loss process and it prevents diabetes and heart disease.
The doctor was quick to explain that more than diet there are many more factors that affect weight
loss. However he seemed more than certain that his fat laden diet is key to losing weight in the

Benjamin Franklin Contributions
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor
safety. Benjamin Franklin It was quotes like this that pegged Benjamin Franklin as the face of
America during pre Revolutionary times. Franklin was a Founding Father, an inventor, a scientist, a
polymath, a politician, a printer, and wore numerous other hats. He essentially changed the world s
view of America, showing everyone that Americans were not idle or unsuccessful, rather respected,
appreciated, and intelligent. Three important aspects of Franklin s life were his personal life, his
scientific discoveries, and his impact on American history. Ben was the 15th child of 17, born in 1706
in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, Ben was never quite satisfied with his lack of activities and
experience. Though he learned to read at an early age, at the age of 10 he was pulled out of school to
work full time at his father s store. Shortly later, he began to apprentice for his brother James at a
printing shop. James mistreated and beat Ben for several years, so finally, Ben ran away to
Philadelphia in 1723. Soon after this, Franklin traveled to London to purchase printing equipment, but
ended up staying there for a couple years. He returned to Philadelphia in 1726 and opened his own
printing shop. Upon his return, he also married his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Read, in 1730. Not
long after his marriage, he became the publisher of his own newspaper: The Pennsylvania

Stress Management For The Busy Entrepreneur
Stress Management For The Busy Entrepreneur
Being an entrepreneur may have driven you out of your home and probably has caused
misunderstandings and miscommunication between you and your family. While you may be too
focused on making your business to become successful, you are losing your family and friends, and
even yourself. Entrepreneurs have a huge burden to carry once they start putting up the business
because it can demand so much time and energy that could drain them eventually. Any startup
business will require long hours of work to the point of even bringing home some of the tasks for the
day.
An entrepreneur is expected to be hardworking, brave and intelligent. After all, if one has a weak heart
in facing all the trials in a business, then the business will never succeed. But sometimes, having to
deal with the same things over and over can just make your brain shut down from functioning
properly, thus, you lose the ability to solve problems, to rationally think and to make decisions. When
this happens, it will be difficult for you to see how things really are. Does it sound familiar?
Work related stress is costing the economy a huge amount of money in a year where there is an
increase in the number of deaths each year due to workplace stress. Such health conditions are a heart
attack, stroke, diabetes, anxiety, and depression. Should people work to live or live to work?

Types Of Reproduction And Asexual Reproduction
Introduction:
We explored the reproductive system. It is important because without it all living things would
become extinct.
The two different types of reproduction are sexual and asexual reproduction. Types of asexual
reproduction include binary fission, budding, and fragmentation. Budding is when another organism
grows out of the parent cell, and separates once it s fully developed. Fragmentation is when an
organism splits into more pieces which each form into their own organism. Binary fission is when the
parent cell copies its genetic material and then splits into two. The advantages of asexual reproduction
are that it produces a lot of offspring, takes little energy, and is speedy. The disadvantage is that the
offspring are clones. Types of sexual reproduction include external and internal fertilization. External
fertilization means that the eggs are fertilized outside of the two parent organisms, while internal
fertilization happens inside of the two parent organisms. The advantages of sexual reproduction is that
the offspring vary genetically. The disadvantages are that there are fewer offspring, it takes longer, it
requires more energy, and a partner must be found.
Gametogenesis is the production of gametes. There are two kinds of gametogenesis, oogenesis and
spermatogenesis. Oogenesis happens in the ovaries, and makes eggs. It only happens during fetal
development, and produces two polar bodies and one ovum. Spermatogenesis happens in the testes,
and occurs

Immigration And Chinese Immigrants
According to the online dictionary, the word foreign is an adjective and it is defined as of, from, in, or
characteristic of a country or language other than one s own. The noun foreigner is defined as a person
born in or coming from a country other than one s own. At first thought the words foreign and
foreigner may not carry a significant amount of weight outside of its denotation but what about those
who identify with either term? These people are looked as the others. In Anzia Yezierska s How I
Found America and the poetry of the Chinese detainees on Angel Island both display an array of
frustration because of mistreatment and their expectation of America were not met.
The reason most immigrants move over from their original country to the United States is that they are
in search of a better life and more opportunities. The Chinese are no different because a huge
population came during the 1900s in search of jobs. Many worked as farmers, miners and railroad
builders. Americans were not too thrilled so they accused the Chinese of monopolizing their jobs.
President Chester A. Arthur on May 6, 1882, signed the Chinese Exclusion Acts which prevented
Chinese immigrants from immigrating to the United States. From 1910 1940 when Chinese
immigrated over they were kept and interrogated at Angel Island immigration station in San Francisco
Bay. They were asked outrages questions and if they didn t answer correctly they would be deported.

The Elections of 1948 and 2004 Essay
The Elections of 1948 and 2004
The elections of 1948, and 2004 had many similarities. In both elections we had the two major
political parties, plus a third independent party. We had a war going on, polls trying to predict the
election, and two main candidates working on getting elected. The elections did have some differences
though. Money spent, mediums campaigned through, and the number of votes for the third party.
Despite the differences, there was one main similarity that stood out between the two elections, the
type of rhetoric used to sway votes from both sides.
In the election of 1948 Thomas Dewey rarely gave any plans, and even more rarely would he ever try
to tell us why he would make a better president than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his second attempt, he ran against incumbent President Truman. It may have been his second
attempt, but it was the first attempt by pollers to predict the outcome of a presidential election. The
polling agencies were quite sure Truman would be defeated. It could be that the polls were totally
wrong, or perhaps the polls effected the campaigns in an unexpected way. We do know that the
campaign of Dewey was effected by the polls. Since they showed him so far ahead, Dewey did little in
the way of campaigning. His running mate was so dissatisfied with the lack of campaigning he was
quoted as saying, Just once, I d like to call someone an S.O.B. ( 1948: The Great Truman Surprise )
Towards the end of the campaign though, the polls showed the gap closing, but everyone figured it
was too little too late. The Chicago Tribune even had printed its paper with a headline proclaiming
Dewey s victory.
The campaign although almost nonexistent, did still have a few of interesting propaganda pieces. The
first of which, the least persuasive one, was a simple pin on button with a giant H on the left side to
form the words Help Harry Hurry Home. There really are no persuasive words here at all. Instead, it is
more of a bandwagon/rally phrase, so it would loosely fit into the category of pathos. Next would
again be a pin. It read Don t be an vote for Dewey ( Collecting Thomas E.

I First Visited The Virtual Holocaust Museum Website And...
When I first visited the virtual Holocaust Museum website and researched the bodies of the site it
represented discrimination and bigotry. The action taken upon the innocent the dominant leader Adolf
Hitler and the members of his group carried out Jews. The website classified the term Genocide to
commit violent crimes against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group. The central
issue raised by the site is informing people the awareness of Genocide. When I was looking into the
cases mentioned on the website many of the cases are racial profiling against culture, religion and
race. During the Holocaust the Nazis were a group that had wealth and power. According to
Koppelman, during slavery, African Americans dead bodies were tossed overboard for the sharks to
eat (pg106). From reading this example, the Nazis were torturing the Jews and throwing their lifeless
bodies around. This site raises awareness about genocide and how it occurred during the Holocaust.
My schema has changed tremendously because I knew very little facts about the Holocaust. I thought
that the Jews were just being hated on and not being killed and slaughtered by the Nazis. I read the
Anne Frank passage and she expressed how she felt during the time of the Holocaust and how it was a
disgrace and how the Nazis were destroying the values and beliefs of the Jews. This reminds me of
how immigrants come into the United States and were forced to be Americanize because of the United

The Nature Of Inner Peace
The nature of inner peace is complex and multifaceted. Peace is not merely the absence of hostility,
violence or war but encompasses a larger concept whereby inner peace is attained. Peace begins with
individual awareness and personal response to the teachings of the religious traditions. An individual s
understanding of peace is expressed through the principal teachings drawn from the sacred texts of
Christianity and Islam that is, the New Testament and the Quran respectively. These teachings guide
individuals in achieving inner peace and hence through this allow them to contribute to world peace.
Initially, a Christian adherent s understanding of Peace is informed through the sacred writings within
the New Testament. Jesus, the prince of peace challenged people to live the essence of the law rather
than just an outward show of religious observance. As stated in Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the
peacemakers, for they will be called children of God . Jesus use of Shalom, goes beyond the absence
of war as it emphasises the need for harmony in relationships which result in God s blessing. This idea
is reinforced in Matthew 5:43 45 Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...God
makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous .
This teaching targets the challenge for many adherents in that Jesus stated people should not take
revenge on others,to maintain outer and inner peace. Hence, the New Testament are an

such a big thing in Japan back in the 1990s, samurai that were caught by the enemy were expected to

1. Yali s question is Why is it that you white people developed so much cargo and brought it to New

progress in some areas, but not in others?
2. The first consideration Diamond discusses is that just because something happened and that it
would have happened anyway, it does not make the act good or just. The second consideration is that
the most powerful region, in this case, western Europe, should not be the only one talked about
because ideas and practices that are now or were at that time integrated into their culture were not

This led to a growth in population because now there was no restriction on how often you could have
children, just how many you can care for. This led to a greater population density which ultimately

8. One factor that contributed to the transition from hunting gathering to farming was the decline in
the availability of wild foods to gather. A second factor was an increased availability of wild plants. A
third factor was the development of technologies that food production would later depend upon. A
fourth factor was the link between the rise in population density and the rise in food production. A
fifth factor was food producers could force hunter gatherers to leave or kill them off because of the
great numbers they had.
9. One advantage the Fertile Crescent had in food production was that it had a Mediterranean climate
that was mild and wet in the winter and hot and dry in the long summers. This allows plants to grow
quickly after the dry season when the rain comes back. A second advantage was many plants there
were already very abundant and very productive. A third advantage was that it had a lot of
hermaphrodite plants that would almost always pollinate themselves and occasionally cross pollinate
which allowed a little more variety. A fourth advantage was that the area had different levels of

Comparing Odysseus And God In Homer s The Odyssey
In Homer s The Odyssey, Odysseus tests his servants, family, and the suitors, and in the Book of
Genesis God tests Abraham. Odysseus returns home alone and unrecognized to find his home in
disarray, unsure of who and who cannot be trusted. In the Book of Genesis, Abraham is tested to
assure he is loyal to, and trusts, the Lord. Odysseus tests the loyalty of his servants and family
members, as well as the suitors, likewise, Abraham s faith is assessed by God as he commands
Abraham to sacrifice his son. The similarities between Odysseus and God, and their assessment of
others, draw further on the concept of crossing the boundary between humans and the divine; both
Odysseus and God use testing as a form of bringing justice to a world that lives without a justice
system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

SCD Compliance
Change is a hard concept for most, but change in the hospital setting can be beneficial for both staff
and patients. According to Mclean (2011), Every change begins with an ending (p.79). How people
respond to change can make the process easy or hard depending on how the change is presented.
Sequential Compression Devices (SCD s) mechanically replace normal muscle motion in the leg via a
cuff that inflates and deflates uniformly. This mechanical inflation and deflation keeps blood flowing
in the veins and prevents the formation of clots that can result in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or
pulmonary embolism. SCD s are used as prophylaxis in patient groups with low to moderate risk of
DVT (Brady et al., 2007, p. 256). Patient compliance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Studies to show which type of leg compression device is optimal for DVT prevention are not
available. Knee length SCD s are more comfortable to patients, encourages higher levels of
compliance and also provide beneficial prophylaxis against DVT.
An informal survey of perioperative nurses, physicians and patients was performed regarding the use
of thigh length versus knee length SCD s. The surgical services management team, clinical nurse
educator, surgeons, and materials management were also involved in the process of using only knee
length SCD s on all surgical patients. The surgeons, staff, and patients were perceptive and willing to
use only knee length SCD s. The perioperative nurses were hesitant at times to call the physician for
an order to place knee length SCD s on the surgical patient. This was a barrier to the suggested change
project.
Havelock s model of change will be used for this project. Perception of need, diagnosis of the
problem, identification of the problem, devising a plan of action, gaining acceptance of the plan,
stabilization, and self renewal are all steps included in Havelock s model of change (Kearney
Nunnery, 2012). Leadership is also an important part of the change process. In order to have a positive
outcome, the leader must incorporate the staff in the change process.
Providing clarity about the change can improve the transition process. According to Mclean (2011),

My next offensive argument is that the Catholic Church creates a space of hypocrisy by publicizing
one theme of morality but practicing whatever they like through alteration or blatant ignoring of
religious tradition within the clerical order with the intent on making money instead of upholding
doctrine. This hypocrisy extends to religious vows that were blatantly ignored by the clergy in the
past, and do so now with more secrecy. It is Cannon Law that competent authority of the Church must
take vows of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, obedience, and charity (Catholic
Canonists). Meanwhile, in the past as seen by the previously mentioned criticisms of Pope Alexander
VI s use of great wealth to help seize the papacy and the modern Bishop of Bling shows that both the
vows of poverty and obedience to those vows are explicitly ignored by those who are supposed to
enforce them. As far as chastity goes, Pope Alexander IV had four, possibly more, very public children
with a mistress that he was able to legitimize and use for his own political ventures, as well as two
other mistresses he had while serving as pope, blatantly ignoring the vow of chastity (Murphy). In
more recent days the Catholic Church sex scandal of pedophilic priests and Cardinals shows not only
an air of disobedience and sexual immorality, but that the insubordination of the clergy hasn t stopped
since the more primitive days but has

The first fundamental principles of ethics in MIA by Law are Integrity. The company does not follow
the integrity. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Requirements is under integrity. The company
complies with all applicable laws and conducts its business with integrity and employees must do the

The Legality Of Drug Testing In The Workplace
Drug Testing in the Workplace There has been great controversy regarding the topic of drug testing in
the workplace. Employees fear the thought of being tested, while employers use it as a tool to make
decisions. Arguments concerning the legality of drug tests has sparked many political debates.
However, employers receive reinsurance of safety and health issues with implemented pre
employment drug testing as well as randomized or ongoing drug tests. Most private employers have
the luxury establish their own regulations regarding drug testing in the workplace, unless they are
obligated to follow Federal regulations. One association related to this arrangement is the U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT), in this case all employees must be drug tested. Any Federal
agency that uses drug testing in their company are suggested to follow standardized procedures by the
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. A typical test which evaluates of the
presence of drugs or alcohol are urine drug tests, blood drug tests, hair drug tests, breathalyzer drug
tests, mouth swab (saliva) drug tests and sweat drug screens. The reason why they take into account
the Mental Health Services is because employees who (for example) take medications such as
Adderall for ADHD may show positive results for amphetamines, and may cost someone their job
even if the drug enhances their ability to perform. Considering that drug testing is personal health

Wuthering Heights Controversy
Emily Bronte started writing Wuthering Heights in December of 1847. She was born on July 30, 1818
in England. She live with her father, brother, and two sisters. She was not too fond of people. The
alternative was her liking to animals as they do not judge nor cause pain, just love for their human
counterpart. She was known for having the will of iron because anything that she sets her mind too
gets done without hesitation. This can be seen in her writing as one of her characters in the book never
gave up trying to get what he wants. One of her favorite pass times was cooking in the kitchen to get
away from the moors. Also being stubborn has led to her death because she never wanted to go to the

Majority of the people would get sick and die because of the lack of medicines and antibiotics. The
characters would mostly die from being sick. This is an issue because kids would often be left alone
without parents. Since the main character did not have any parents, he was raised cruelly. He was
abused and mistreated by none relative and made him grow up to be a psychopath. The author did a
great job on using symbols to help understand what the feeling and emotions are running through the
characters minds. Many scenes were memorable. The first scene that caught my attention is the female
and male first realize the love that they have for each other. The scene helped me understand what a
nice moment it was for both of the characters. Heathcliff s love for Catherine is intense and he is very
romantic and full of passion. She loves him as well and she considers themselves as one. She tells
Nelly about this when she tells her about Edgar. When Catherine talks to Nelly about Edgar, they are
in the kitchen. Cathy was sure that they were alone, and nobody was there to listen. She was wrong.
Little did she know, Heathcliff overheard her tell Nelly that she cannot be with Heathcliff because
Hindley has degraded him too much and that marrying him would degrade her. She proceeds to

Essay on Moral Luck
The case of moral luck was introduced by Williams Bernard and developed by Thomas Nagel in their
articles respectively. Both raised the question whether luck can influence the judgment of morality. In
this essay, the definition of moral luck and four kinds of moral luck by Williams and Nagel will be
discussed through several case examples, and then followed with some arguments from Judith Andre,
Donna Dickenson and David Enoch and Andrei Marmor who disagree with the concept of moral luck.
Let take a simple example from Nagel s paper to acquire a brief understanding on the idea of moral
luck. Driver A and B were both drunk when driving home. Drive A passed the red light and killed a
child who was passing the street while driver B got home ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second type of luck, circumstantial, was described as luck in one s circumstances the kind of
problems and situations one faces , (Nagel, p.28). The drunken drivers example belongs to the third
type of luck: resultant luck. To many philosophers, the third and fourth type of luck is accountable for
one which deals with the causes and effects of action, as Nagel explains, luck in how one is
determined by antecedent circumstances, and luck in the way one s action and projects turn out. ,
(Nagel, p.28). The commonality of these four categories of luck is the idea that one cannot be more
culpable or estimable for anything than one is for that fraction of it which is under one s control. It
seems irrational to take or dispense credit or blame for matters over which a person has no control, or
for their influence on results over which he has partial control. (Nagel, p.28).
Williams also delivers the idea of agent regret which, to him, matters to the person in the unlucky case
more than any extrinsic moral judgments. Agent regret is defined as thought being formed in part by
first personal conceptions of how one might have acted otherwise , (Williams, p.27), and required a
first personal subject matter and not yet merely a particular kind of psychological content, but also a
particular kind of expression , (Williams, 27). Hence, even if the driver A is morally treated as equal as
driver B, the agent regret of guilt may follow him to the

Spectrum Of Autism
Autism is one of the most common, yet misunderstood disorders of the modern age. Most Americans
do not have a clear understanding of possible causes, what Autism actually is nor possible cures or
treatments of this disorder. An incredibly important step towards the better understanding of this
disorder is having the basic facts available for the common man, presented in a way that is easy to
understand, and easier for parceling out in small components. The fundamental components of the
facts necessary to understand and potentially one day eliminate autism include, understanding what
the autistic spectrum is, what the possible causes of autism are, as well as past and present treatments.

One of the most studied is the idea of environmental issues causing Autism. Several metals, such as
mercury, lead, chromium and aluminum have been linked to cases of Autism around the world
(Mohamed, et al. U.S. National Library of Medicine) An unfortunate side effect of these findings was
the spread of misunderstanding of the ways that these environmental factors come into play with
Autism sufferers and led to the rise of individuals becoming concerned about links between vaccines
and Autism. While these links have since been debunked, they still are present and detract from actual
research in the environmental causes of Autism. Once the baseless speculation and confusion on what
are and are not environmental issues that can cause Autism are more widely published and have a
greater acceptance, scientists can focus on testing and experimentation on what we can do to either
nullify or remove harmful environmental factors. However, the idea of removing these heavy metals
has worked in some individuals with autism, but the success rate varies from case to case.

Malcom X And The Civil Rights Of Malcolm X
By definition, civil rights are the rights of citizens to political and social equality. To simplify that,
civil rights are rights that every person should have, no matter what race, color, ethnicity, etc. Some
people believed so strongly that everyone should have civil rights, they were willing to risk their own
lives for it. People such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Elizabeth Eckford,
Ernest Green, Hazel Massery, and many others. One of the many civil rights activists was Malcolm
Little, who later changed his name to Malcolm X. Malcolm X was one of the activists who fought
back violently. All of these civil rights activists wanted generally the same thing. Dr. King wants the
same thing I want. Freedom Malcolm X. Many of them used words, and peaceful protests, many of
which were led by Martin Luther King Jr. Malcolm X strongly believed that peace would never solve
anything, so he decided to use violence to get his way.

King Henry VIII and The Reformation
Martyrdom. The selfish king. A young monk. All played a significant part in the Reformation. Before
the Reformation, the people of England were homogenous in their beliefs as they followed the
Christian teachings of the Roman Catholic Pope. The Roman Catholic Church is an ancient Church,
and changes have been made over centuries. Problems arose because of corruption in the church such
as the political power of the Pope and the concept of indulgences. An indulgence can be described as
paying a fee to buy forgiveness. At this time the Church was very powerful and persecuted anyone
with differing beliefs including burning people at the stake for having what were supposedly heretical
beliefs. King Henry VIII led the English Reformation by introducing a new church and bringing an
end to the power of the Pope. Because of his love and study of the Word of God, Martin Luther
launched the Reformation which reached all of Europe through his 95 Theses. Each of these events
working simultaneously sparked religious unrest and contention; the Reformation began to
materialize. The Reformation was a time of increasing religious diversity and tolerance. In spite of
centuries of violence, religious tolerance can be found in England because of the lessons learned
through the Catholic Protestant conflict during the Reformation. King Henry the VIII increased
religious tolerance in England during the Reformation. From 1480 to 1530 before King Henry s reign,

modern man who, like many of his kind, feels isolated and incapable of decisive action. Irony is
apparent from the title, for this is not a conventional love song. Prufrock would like to speak of love to

advance past polite conversation that he would disrupt his circle of friends. This can be seen in lines
44 and 45, when he states, Do I dare/Disturb the universe. This internal conflict continues into line 70,
where he starts to prepare a love speech for a particular woman and then basically says he should have

an open revolt against the oppressive behaviour of the officials and protested against the working
conditions of the factory. This paper is an endeavour to depict the labour unrest due to genre glitches
of labourers like poverty, backwardness, illiteracy, insufficiency of wages, corruption of the officials

of protests, meetings, petitions, grievances and tussle for their rights which equip grounds for other
labour movements in the state. The Muslim organisation inside and outside the state support and

class consciousness among the labourers had been established which set an example for the
downtrodden masses to fight for their rights. The agitation was an eruption against the existing

I went to the cat show hosted by the Santa Monica Cat Club on October 7, 2017 at the Pomona

Monica Cat Club. I did not know what to expect at all. I am used to seeing what dog shows look like
on TV. The overall environment was relaxing and everyone was relatively calm. At the entrance, I was
given a colorful pamphlet with the cat breeds that were participating in the show.
I was surprised when I entered the building. There were so many cat breeds but the overall location
felt pretty small probably because they do not need as much space as dogs. I went to every cat that
was present in their cat carrier. Some of them were not there because they were being shown on stage.
I wondered if they ever felt stressed being around so many people for long hours. They probably get
used to it after competing at different shows. The breeders seemed pretty nice and they were willing to
let me pet their cats and to tell me more about their breeds.
There were so many cats I could not keep track of their names, awards, and breeds. The breeds that
really stood out to me were the Toygers, Abyssinians, Sphynxs, Persians, and the American Shorthairs.

The Summer People By Kelly Link
Have you ever been betrayed by someone that you trusted? The Summer People , a fairy tale short
story written by the author Kelly Link, portrayed the characters in a way that be can be greatly related.
Throughout the story, she often used several literary elements, such as symbols, setting, allusions, etc.,
to help the readers to understand the moral of the story. The main character, Fran, was bonded with the
faith to be the caretaker of the summer people, and there is no possible way that she can escape from
them. Despite the kindness of her friend, Ophelia, Fran decided to use her to gain freedom from the
summer people. Ophelia has always been truthful to Fran, even though Fran bullies her during the
beginning of the story. As the end, Ophelia was betrayed by Fran and forced to take over her
responsibilities of the summer people. In an e mail interview conducted by Journal of the Fantastic in

The primary goals of fiction whether it s fantasy or realism or whatever are to entertain, to raise or

Students With An Optimum Learning Experience By Creating A...
Chapter Two: Literature Review
Introduction
Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning experience
by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated that a healthy
learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J. Noaks L. Noaks,
2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of students is limited,
according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time teaching pupils how to
be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities to engage in civic duties
at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held accountable for improving their
own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature review is presented under the
following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation research, benefits of peer
mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature review is to understand what
conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully. Conflict resolution can be taught using peer
mediation framework to guide teachers and students. Peer mediation can be a positive experience for
students but there are specific points to consider before implementation of a peer mediation program
at school.

  • 3. Taking a Look at Structural Violence Structural violence on the other is the type of violence, one experienced by the Adivasi because of a national water dam project, the violence of nationalism becomes explicit both through the categories of poor who are deemed appropriate to neglect and through the failure to help those who are not considered part of the national community (Gupta, 19). In fact it would be more accurate to say that the structural violence the Adivasi experience was due to State policies and practices, which came to light because of the Narmada Sardar Sarovar Dam project. Baviskar describes the village of Ajanvara a is remarkably egalitarian. Each man who is the part of the patriarchal lineage of the village has been given cultivable piece of land meaning there are no landless farmers and no waged laborers. Baviskar accredits Anjanvara s strong bond of reciprocity with neighboring clans and villages to intricate webs of kinship and marriage. The reciprocity and collective sharing of labor or laah have an important implication in the politics of honor in the Bhilala community. Being an egalitarian society, the Bhilala community members pursue power and status by accumulation of symbolic capital. The tendency to accumulate power through symbolic capital such as honor is done given the constraints of economic ways of demonstrating it and because of the egalitarian nature of the community, but just because nature of the society does not exclude women from patriarchal forms of power. Figure 11 illustrates that the weather events that occurred before leading up to Black Saturday can be strongly linked to the large amount of destruction caused. From both figures, it can be noted that a wind change affected the path and development of fires. In the case of Black Saturday, this extended the fire front, increasing the magnitude of the disaster. It is believed that the wind change of the Crib Point fire helped to prevent a large amount of destruction in some areas, while causing it some in others. • 7. Titration Of A Strong Acid It is believed that a strong acid that is titrated with a strong base will produce a resultant solution has a pH that is slightly over 7. This is because strong acids have a lower pH and solutions that are less basic than weak acids that have been titrated with strong bases. When a weak acid is titrated with a strong base it will produce a resultant solution that is well above 7 because it starts off with a higher pH. Acids and bases with high concentrations result in large changes in pH, while acids and bases with low concentrations result in smaller changes in pH. 1. The titration curve would stop at the equivalence point. This is because the indicator changes the solutions colour at this point. 2. In order to titrate with antacids (solid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would take less NaOH to neutralize CH3COOH compared with the amount of NaOH required to neutralize HCl acid. This is because acetic acid is a weak acid has a stronger conjugate base. This by product helps to raise the pH to 7, a neutral level. HCl is a strong acid and has a weaker conjugate base. This by product is not very effective in helping to neutralize the acid. CH3COOH also starts off with a higher pH since it is weaker; this means that it is closer to the neutral pH level than HCl is. 6. The pH of HCl at equivalence point is less than the pH of CH3COOH at equivalence point. This is because HCl starts at a lower pH level than CH3COOH, since it is a strong acid. 7. To classify an acid as either a strong acid or weak base you can test how they react with water. If the acid is strong, it will ionize completely. If the acid is weak it will only partially ionize when introduced to water. 9. If the acid is strong, the titration curve will have a lower equivalence point than a weak acid. If it is a monoprotic acid, there will only be one equivalence point, while polyprotic titration curves will include several equivalence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Grade inflation, the belief that students are receiving grades that they haven t worked for and therefore don t deserve. But what s so wrong about grade inflation? When learning about this subject we also open the doors to learning about the multitude of other problems plaguing our educational system that could use our attention much more than grade inflation does. Through grade inflation we re able to understand problems often forgotten about and looked over. When researching into the topic of grade inflation one begins to see a multitude of problems arise that have been previously ignored and have been left to continue wreaking havoc on the educational system. Mark Oppenheimer shares a similar points of view in his article where he discussed his opinion, that grade inflation is one of the much lesser issues and that we need to be focusing on other things.(other things, just quote his article). His ideas are countered by the ideas of people such as Rojstaczer who argue that grade inflation is becoming an out of control issue that needs to be fixed (add in quotes from the book and article) In the past colleges like Princeton and Wellesley have tried to adopt policies to help curb grade inflation. Even though it lowered the percentages of high grades, effectively lowering the amount of grade inflation, it came with the cost of unforeseen consequences that affected the students and staff. In 1977, the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs recommended a dietary guideline that limited fat intake to no more than 30% per day. According to statistics, the instances of obesity started to increase around the same time fat was villanized and low fat products became more popular. Furthermore, similar studies claim that the war on fat led people to substitute butter and lard with processed low fat food which are high in artificial flavoring and sugar. Benjamin Franklin It was quotes like this that pegged Benjamin Franklin as the face of America during pre Revolutionary times. Franklin was a Founding Father, an inventor, a scientist, a polymath, a politician, a printer, and wore numerous other hats. He essentially changed the world s view of America, showing everyone that Americans were not idle or unsuccessful, rather respected, appreciated, and intelligent. Three important aspects of Franklin s life were his personal life, his scientific discoveries, and his impact on American history. Ben was the 15th child of 17, born in 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, Ben was never quite satisfied with his lack of activities and experience. Though he learned to read at an early age, at the age of 10 he was pulled out of school to work full time at his father s store. Shortly later, he began to apprentice for his brother James at a printing shop. James mistreated and beat Ben for several years, so finally, Ben ran away to Philadelphia in 1723. • 13. Types Of Reproduction And Asexual Reproduction Introduction: We explored the reproductive system. It is important because without it all living things would become extinct. The two different types of reproduction are sexual and asexual reproduction. Types of asexual reproduction include binary fission, budding, and fragmentation. Budding is when another organism grows out of the parent cell, and separates once it s fully developed. Fragmentation is when an organism splits into more pieces which each form into their own organism. Binary fission is when the parent cell copies its genetic material and then splits into two. The advantages of asexual reproduction are that it produces a lot of offspring, takes little energy, and is speedy. The disadvantage is that the offspring are clones. Types of sexual reproduction include external and internal fertilization. External fertilization means that the eggs are fertilized outside of the two parent organisms, while internal fertilization happens inside of the two parent organisms. The advantages of sexual reproduction is that the offspring vary genetically. • 14. Immigration And Chinese Immigrants According to the online dictionary, the word foreign is an adjective and it is defined as of, from, in, or characteristic of a country or language other than one s own. The noun foreigner is defined as a person born in or coming from a country other than one s own. At first thought the words foreign and foreigner may not carry a significant amount of weight outside of its denotation but what about those who identify with either term? These people are looked as the others. In Anzia Yezierska s How I Found America and the poetry of the Chinese detainees on Angel Island both display an array of frustration because of mistreatment and their expectation of America were not met. The reason most immigrants move over from their original country to the United States is that they are in search of a better life and more opportunities. The Chinese are no different because a huge population came during the 1900s in search of jobs. Many worked as farmers, miners and railroad builders. Americans were not too thrilled so they accused the Chinese of monopolizing their jobs. President Chester A. Arthur on May 6, 1882, signed the Chinese Exclusion Acts which prevented Chinese immigrants from immigrating to the United States. From 1910 1940 when Chinese immigrated over they were kept and interrogated at Angel Island immigration station in San Francisco Bay. In both elections we had the two major political parties, plus a third independent party. We had a war going on, polls trying to predict the election, and two main candidates working on getting elected. The elections did have some differences though. Money spent, mediums campaigned through, and the number of votes for the third party. Despite the differences, there was one main similarity that stood out between the two elections, the type of rhetoric used to sway votes from both sides. In his second attempt, he ran against incumbent President Truman. It may have been his second attempt, but it was the first attempt by pollers to predict the outcome of a presidential election. The polling agencies were quite sure Truman would be defeated. It could be that the polls were totally wrong, or perhaps the polls effected the campaigns in an unexpected way. We do know that the campaign of Dewey was effected by the polls. Since they showed him so far ahead, Dewey did little in the way of campaigning. His running mate was so dissatisfied with the lack of campaigning he was quoted as saying, Just once, I d like to call someone an S.O.B. ( 1948: The Great Truman Surprise ) Towards the end of the campaign though, the polls showed the gap closing, but everyone figured it was too little too late. The Chicago Tribune even had printed its paper with a headline proclaiming Dewey s victory. The campaign although almost nonexistent, did still have a few of interesting propaganda pieces. The first of which, the least persuasive one, was a simple pin on button with a giant H on the left side to form the words Help Harry Hurry Home. There really are no persuasive words here at all. When I first visited the virtual Holocaust Museum website and researched the bodies of the site it represented discrimination and bigotry. The action taken upon the innocent the dominant leader Adolf Hitler and the members of his group carried out Jews. The website classified the term Genocide to commit violent crimes against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group. The central issue raised by the site is informing people the awareness of Genocide. When I was looking into the cases mentioned on the website many of the cases are racial profiling against culture, religion and race. During the Holocaust the Nazis were a group that had wealth and power. According to Koppelman, during slavery, African Americans dead bodies were tossed overboard for the sharks to eat (pg106). From reading this example, the Nazis were torturing the Jews and throwing their lifeless bodies around. This site raises awareness about genocide and how it occurred during the Holocaust. My schema has changed tremendously because I knew very little facts about the Holocaust. I thought that the Jews were just being hated on and not being killed and slaughtered by the Nazis. I read the Anne Frank passage and she expressed how she felt during the time of the Holocaust and how it was a disgrace and how the Nazis were destroying the values and beliefs of the Jews. • 18. The Nature Of Inner Peace The nature of inner peace is complex and multifaceted. Peace is not merely the absence of hostility, violence or war but encompasses a larger concept whereby inner peace is attained. Peace begins with individual awareness and personal response to the teachings of the religious traditions. An individual s understanding of peace is expressed through the principal teachings drawn from the sacred texts of Christianity and Islam that is, the New Testament and the Quran respectively. These teachings guide individuals in achieving inner peace and hence through this allow them to contribute to world peace. Initially, a Christian adherent s understanding of Peace is informed through the sacred writings within the New Testament. Jesus, the prince of peace challenged people to live the essence of the law rather than just an outward show of religious observance. As stated in Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God . Jesus use of Shalom, goes beyond the absence of war as it emphasises the need for harmony in relationships which result in God s blessing. This idea is reinforced in Matthew 5:43 45 Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...God makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous . This teaching targets the challenge for many adherents in that Jesus stated people should not take revenge on others,to maintain outer and inner peace. Hence, the New Testament are an ... According to Mclean (2011), Every change begins with an ending (p.79). How people respond to change can make the process easy or hard depending on how the change is presented. Sequential Compression Devices (SCD s) mechanically replace normal muscle motion in the leg via a cuff that inflates and deflates uniformly. This mechanical inflation and deflation keeps blood flowing in the veins and prevents the formation of clots that can result in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism. Meanwhile, in the past as seen by the previously mentioned criticisms of Pope Alexander VI s use of great wealth to help seize the papacy and the modern Bishop of Bling shows that both the vows of poverty and obedience to those vows are explicitly ignored by those who are supposed to enforce them. As far as chastity goes, Pope Alexander IV had four, possibly more, very public children with a mistress that he was able to legitimize and use for his own political ventures, as well as two other mistresses he had while serving as pope, blatantly ignoring the vow of chastity (Murphy). The commonality of these four categories of luck is the idea that one cannot be more culpable or estimable for anything than one is for that fraction of it which is under one s control. It seems irrational to take or dispense credit or blame for matters over which a person has no control, or for their influence on results over which he has partial control. (Nagel, p.28). Problems arose because of corruption in the church such as the political power of the Pope and the concept of indulgences. An indulgence can be described as paying a fee to buy forgiveness. Simply put, college graduates are having a hard time finding jobs, and without a well paying job it is impossible to raise one s economic status in America. When an American graduates from college, there is a good chance that they will not be able to find employment. This is no surprise, since the Great Recession and its aftermath is the longest, most severe period of economic weakness in more than seven decades (Davis, Gould, and Kimball). Economic downturn means fewer available jobs, especially for those who are just entering the market, as most graduates are. According to the Economic Policy Institute, the unemployment rate for college graduates is 7.2 percent and the underemployment rate (the unemployment rate combined with the rate of people currently employed part time but seeking full time work) is 14.9 percent. Due to the poor economic situation in America, many graduates are unable to take the two main paths receiving further education or getting more work experience that enable future career success (Davis, Gould, and Kimball). Pilate asks the crowd if they wanted the Jesus, the King of the Jews, freed. The chief priests were jealous at the time of Jesus religious recognition and how much he was celebrated. Pilate does not want to risk his fame and appreciation from society, so he frees Barabbas the prisoner and sends Jesus to die. Jesus is tortured and mocked by the soldiers. • 39. Descriptive Essay About A Cat Show I went to the cat show hosted by the Santa Monica Cat Club on October 7, 2017 at the Pomona Fairplex. I always wanted to go to a cat show so I was curious about the one offered by the Santa Monica Cat Club. I did not know what to expect at all. I am used to seeing what dog shows look like on TV. The overall environment was relaxing and everyone was relatively calm. At the entrance, I was given a colorful pamphlet with the cat breeds that were participating in the show. I was surprised when I entered the building. There were so many cat breeds but the overall location felt pretty small probably because they do not need as much space as dogs. I went to every cat that was present in their cat carrier. Some of them were not there because they were being shown on stage. I wondered if they ever felt stressed being around so many people for long hours. They probably get used to it after competing at different shows. The breeders seemed pretty nice and they were willing to let me pet their cats and to tell me more about their breeds. There were so many cats I could not keep track of their names, awards, and breeds. The breeds that really stood out to me were the Toygers, Abyssinians, Sphynxs, Persians, and the American Shorthairs. At the time I did not know as many cat breeds, but I am happy that I learned some before going because it made the experience that more meaningful. I was too distracted to look at the breed pamphlet since there were so many cats and I was very fascinated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chapter Two: Literature Review Introduction Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning experience by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated that a healthy learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J. Noaks L. Noaks, 2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of students is limited, according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time teaching pupils how to be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities to engage in civic duties at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held accountable for improving their own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature review is presented under the following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation research, benefits of peer mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature review is to understand what conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully. Conflict resolution can be taught using peer mediation framework to guide teachers and students. Peer mediation can be a positive experience for students but there are specific points to consider before implementation of a peer mediation program at school.
