The Monkeys Paw Character Analysis
Zikera Newsome
6th period
03/07/17 The Monkeys Paw The Monkeys Paw by W.W Jacobs. This novel is taking place
inside and around the White family home, called Laburnum Villa. The novel is probably set
around the time it were to be published; in 1902.The author manipulate time by going slow. The
setting changes but it does not affect how the characters are in the novel. As the story progresses,
the house becomes progressively darker and spookier. He uses the horror genre to talk about
some very serious issues. Sgt. Major Morris tells the Whites that the old fakir who put the spell on
the paw said, Fate rules people s lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sgt. Maj. Morris wanted to make three wishes because only three men could use it and the fakir
was the man who put a spell on the paw but it also is a curse. The character I relate to the most is
Mr. White because he is trying to protect the paw and people from it. Inside of the story is Man
vs. Man because Mr. White is making a decision to make a wish or let three other men make the
wishes their selves. Internal because man vs. man is inside decision he is having with himself.
The first thing that happened in the story that changed it was that Mr. White gave the paw away
for a trifle, second thing was that Mr. White came in with two hundred pound of British money,
and the third thing was a man getting hurt in the second scene. A mystery is the outcome of the
man disappearing without anyone knowing what happened. The monkeys paw is the central
idea of the story and everything is around that title from page 26 it says, It had a spell put on it
by an old Fakir, said the Sergeant Major, a very holy man. He wanted to show that fate ruled
people s lives, and that those who interfered with it did so to their sorrow. He put a spell on it so
that three separate men could each have three wishes from it. The first man

How Did The Abbasid Contribute To The Rise Of Islamic Economy
From the third to the tenth century, the Muslim world had an unchallenged economic supremacy
over the Occident and Orient. To this empire, no enemy posed a serious threat and, therefore, this
economy became the most prosperous of its time. Combined with the spread of Islam across the
world, previously sleeping agricultural and rural sectors suddenly flourished due to the
establishment of law and order among Islamic territories. When this is paired with a geographically
vast market that operated with no fear of caravans being assaulted en route, this motivated all of the
Islamic faith to do their best for their own advancement and the benefit of their society. (Source)
In addition, paper had a major impact on the Islamic economy. The discovery of the Chinese
papermaking process was faster and easier than preparing parchment or papyrus. As a result, the
use of paper spread like wildfire throughout the empire; eventually, shops began selling paper and
books. In addition, business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Abbasid Caliphate ruled during the Golden Age of Islam(750 1258CE), this made the Abbasid
one of the most influential and longest reigning Islamic dynasties. During the Abbasid ruled Islam s
early history, it was the largest empire in the world and had contact with distant neighbors such as
the Chinese and Indians to the east and the Byzantine Empire in the west allowing ideas to be
amalgamated from each culture.
In short, the origins of the Abbasid Dynasty sate back to their overthrowing of the Umayyad
Dynasty (based in Damascus, Syria). The Umayyads had grown gradually more disliked by those
it ruled because they favored Syrian Arabs over other Muslims and treated mawali, or those who
had recently converted, as lower class

Connecting Factors Essay
United Kingdom courts may consider additional connecting factors in establishing domicile of
origin, such as adoption. If the factor of adoption is not present in the case, United Kingdom
courts do not permit changes of domicile of unmarried children under the age of 16 unless their
parents from whom they depend change their domicile. The only exception to the general rule can
be inferred from Section 4 of the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973, according to
which the domicile of dependency may be established in the light of the following connecting
factors: a) changes of the father s domicile may justify changes in his child s domicile; b) the
mother is entitled to elect whether her child s domicile must be changed with hers, under the
condition of the father s death or of when the child is illegitimate. However, the factor of adoption
changes everything, as it allows an adopted child to receive a new domicile of origin derived from

They are: a) jurisdiction; b) applicable law; and c) recognition and enforcement of foreign
judgments. In the United Kingdom, the aforesaid three domains are determined by connecting
factors. In respect of the first domain, English courts tend to establish jurisdiction by means of the
following connecting factors: nexus and ties between things, person, country, transaction, place of
occurrence, etc. In the context of the second domain, English courts often connect legal categories
to applicable laws, such as contract, succession, or tort in order to make decision with regard to the
laws that apply to a specific dispute or case. With regard to the third domain, English courts decide
on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments by way of focusing on outstanding facts
that make it possible to establish natural connection between factual patterns and specific system of

The Teenage Brain Achieve Coherence Ravina
The most convincing ideas in the world, conceived and expressed in the most arresting sentences
will have no effect if not connected properly to one another. Unless the reader can easily understand
and move from one thought to the next, they will have limits to understanding anything they are
reading. Providing techniques such as pronoun reference, transitions and parallel structure help
Vincenzo Ravina, the author of the article The Teenage Brain achieve coherence. Coherence is
obtained when ideas and sentences flow together smoothly and consistently. Granted, the brain
itself is the main, key topic of Ravina s essay. It is etched between every sentence and lined in the
paragraphs, but not always in plain sight pronoun reference is the

Hofstede s Improve Four Dimensions Helping Others
Analysing 116 000 survey questionnaires, Hofstede s improve four dimensions helping others to
understand different culture behaviour. These dimensions were created based on simple problems
that most societies have every day.
The first dimension, power distance (PD), refers to hierarchy , to how inequality is approved by
subordinates and superiors, how power is divided between societies and how people behave with
authority. Hofstede divided this dimension in low which are societies with characteristics as
inequality at the minimum level, everyone enjoy the same benefits, subordinates opinion is taken
into account, managers should be democrat and high that includes societies that are autocrats
superiors, centralized structure, dependent subordinates, hierarchy reflects difference, superiors
have benefits.
The second dimension is uncertainty avoidance, and it shows how people react when they feel
threatened, societies that do not take risks or don t try new situations. This dimension is divided in
low and the main characteristics are rules are not allowed, common sense, hard work is not a virtue,
not structured activities. In the other side there re societies with the high uncertainty avoidance
characterized for don t allow changes, established rules, just in necessary cases, experts have the
better knowledge.
Then is the Individualism vs Group/collectivist orientation, this dimension shows How people
distribute their social life, importance of group life, goal achievements

Case Study Of Pressure Hydraulics Company
Pressure Hydraulics Company in the given context, which is having trouble with their accounting
and employees processes. We put forward that this problem can be solved only by means of an
automated transaction processing system, which will support the business farm in all the
commercial purposes such as storage, collection, recovery and modification of all transaction
related information within the organization.
In accordance to the problems the company is facing as described in our context. In our view, we
would like to advocate the subsequent solution for Pressure Hydraulics:
1. Ensuring repeat business

This would furthermore mean that the company will
have to let detonate some mechanism from the senior management and confidence in the
employees at each level with some point of control. The control structures will have to be tight
and suitably placed to make sure that internal as well as external progressions are in check.
Control systems have to be very robust so as to make sure there are no gaps which can be
operated by any person.
An additional trouble could arise in case of incorrect data entry. Data entry job is customarily
monotonous and there might be inconsiderate errors by the user who is obligatory to enter the
data. Likewise, fraud detection can be tricky in some cases of automated systems.
Consequently, it can be assumed that automated systems are desirable by the company, which
sorts AIS a very real applicable option.
A new system:
The Pressure Hydraulics Company can establish Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
that can affect the accounting systems of an organisation. Other parameters that influence AIS
are the supply chain and the customer relationship management system. The

Vaccines Of Vaccines For Other Diseases
Every year, vaccines save more than 2.5 million children, which is similar to about 285 every
hour; however, not everyone in the world believes that vaccines are safe (ProCon). In 1796,
British Doctor Edward Jenner created the first vaccine to prevent smallpox by noticing that the
milkmaids who were exposed to cowpox were immune to it (Ballarlo). Scientists realized the
importance of this and began to research on the creation of vaccines for other illnesses.
Unexpectedly, it was French chemist Louis Pasteur who, while researching why there is spoilage in
wine, found germs (Burge). From that discovery, he speculated that if germs could be found in
wine, then it can probably be found in animals, plants, and humans too. This was how... Show more

His experiment consisted of two people, a young milkmaid who had cowpox and an eight year
old boy. Firstly, he used the young milkmaid to infect the eight year old boy by taking cowpox
matter (Ballarlo) from the milkmaid and injecting it into the boy s arm. A week after the
inoculation, the boy became ill, but that only lasted a day. With that confirmation, Jenner
experimented with cowpox. At first, he was hesitant, because he was afraid that his theory might
be wrong, which would lead to the death of the boy. In the end, the boy stayed healthy for weeks
and that was when Jenner concluded his theory was right. He named his discovery vaccine after the
Latin word for cowpox, but scientists and researchers adapted this name to describe any agent that
was able help people build immunity towards diseases by injecting a milder version of the disease.
It was not until Pasteur s discovery that vaccines were able to defend against more diseases.
Pasteur had been looking for a way to create a vaccine for anthrax, a type of disease in sheeps
and cattle, when a scientist sent him a head of a rooster that had died of chicken cholera, asking
him to help find a way to prevent it. He accepted this challenge and found a way of growing
chicken cholera germs in culture by putting germs into a container of chicken broth. However, they
had to constantly grow more of these

Visit Of The Mcdonald s On Okeechobee Boulevard
For this assignment I chose to visit the McDonald s on Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm
Beach and the Chick Fil A on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach. I visited
McDonald s first just after what could be considered the dinner rush. When walking into the
store the first thing I noticed was the floor was fairly dirty, especially near the trash receptacles.
There were clearly visible items of food that had fallen off of people s trays as they attempted to
clear their trays off. I got into the line to order and noticed that there were three people ahead of
me. There was only one McDonald s employee working the registers while I saw another
standing by on their cell phone. I believe the second employee not working the registers was a
manager. She was unaware of the line that had grown and when she looked up she signed into a
register to help. I had gone into the store with the intention of only ordering a sweet tea, but if I
were to have been offered an item I would buy it. I gave my order to the manager of only a sweet
tea and she gave me my total. It was interesting to see that the manager did not try to upsell my
order as I was only getting a $1 drink. As the drinks were a self service, I went to go get the
sweet tea and found they were out of sweet tea. I informed the manager and she said they would
get another one out. Rather than get a different drink I decided to wait to see how long it would
take the staff to replace the sweet tea. Once the manager told

Assess the impact of World War 1 on Japanese development in the early 20th century. World War 1
and its aftermath, together with the great Tokyo earthquake of 1923, brought profound changes in
social, intellectual, and urban consciousness. (Jansen 496)World War 1 caused many changes in the
nation of Japan, both positive and negative. The whole infrastructure of the country altered
immensely during the early 20th century, even when compared to the drastic modernisation of the
Meiji Restoration. In the first quarter of the 20th century Japan had no less than 3 different
emperors, and subsequently experienced 3 different historical eras. July 1912 saw the death of the

Of the big four (Mitsui, Sumitomo, Mitsubishi and Yasuda) the first three concentrated on heavy
industry such as ship building. This proved a lucrative move considering the demand for ships
during the war, for military and trade purposes. Of course none of these changes would have taken
place had the government not agreed to the trade agreements and industrial tutoring of Europe and
the United States.
World War 1 also ushered in changes in the government of Japan. These changes were less visible
differences and more a change in the ideas of how a government should be structured. Political party
government took a long time to take hold.
The Meiji Constitution was deliberately vague on the subject of executive responsibility.
Sovereignty and final authority in all matters rested with the throne, but at the same time the
ruler had to be protected from active participation lest he be found fallible. (Jansen 496)Up until
1921, considered the dawn of party politics in Japan, the government system was set up of four
main parts. A powerful Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, was in control of local
government and national police. (The Emperor was theoretically head of the armed services, but
generals and admirals were selected by the staff of the armed services to protect the Emperor from
participation) A Privy Council made of imperial appointees had to approve of important decisions
on national policy or the constitution. A House of Peers,

The difference between an intensive property and an extensive property is that the extensive
property of a substance whereas an intensive property does not. Density is an example of
intensive property of a substance Extensive property example: mass 2. In order to calculate the
density of a solid or liquid sample, what measurements are needed? Mass and volume 3. The
volume of a п¬Ѓxed mass of a liquid sample increases as the temperature rises from 20 to 408C.
Does the density increase, decrease, or stay the same? Explain your answer. The density decreases.
Density of the liquid sample is the mass divide by the volume. If the mass stays constant and the
volume increases then the density of the liquid sample will decrease. 4. A solid block of exactly
100.0 cm3 has a mass of 153.6 g. Determine its density. Will the block sink or float on water?
Density (d)=m/v = 153.6g / 100cm3 = 1.536 g/cm3 Since this solid block is more dense than water
(1.536 g/cm3 gt; 1 g/cm3) it will sink. 5. A salvage operator recovered coins believed to be gold. A
sample weighed 129.6 g and had a volume of 15.3 cm3. Were the coins gold (d = 19.3 g/cm3) or
just yellow brass (d = 8.47 g/cm3)? Show your work. Density (d)=m/v = 129.6g / 15.3cm3 = 8.47 g

The Role Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome ( Pcos )
EPIDEMIOLOGY
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder that affects 4% to 12% of
women of childbearing age.1 The proportion of individuals in a population with PCOS depends on
the diagnostic criteria.2 According to the criteria implemented by the European Society for Human
Reproduction and Embryology/American Society for Reproductive Medicine, PCOS is as great as
15% to 20%.2 As stated in The National Institute of Health Office of Disease Prevention Report,
PCOS impacts about 5 million females of reproductive age in United States.3 The identification and
management of the disease is estimated to cost $4 billion annually to the US health care system.3
As such, PCOS presents a major economic burden.

ETIOLOGY AND PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
PCOS is an oligogenic disorder that has a heritable factor of approximately 70%.3 Both genetic and
environmental factors contribute to the phenotype of the disease.4 The pathophysiology of PCOS
consists of defects in the hypothalamic pituitary axis, secretion of insulin and the function of the
ovary.3 Although, the cause of PCOS is an on going topic of research, it has been linked to insulin
resistance and elevated androgen levels that contribute to hormonal imbalance.4 It is estimated
that 60% 80% of women with PCOS, show insulin resistance and this percentage increases to 95%
of women who are obese.8 Insulin resistance is a cause as well as an exacerbating factor for the
development of PCOS.3 Insulin resistance contributes to metabolic disturbances, obesity and type 2
diabetes, as well as increased androgens, cardiovascular risks and anovulation.1
Insulin aids in regulation of ovarian function and overproduction of insulin causes the ovaries to
produce high amounts of androgens.9 High levels of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH)
stimulate the ovarian thecal cells to produce a greater amount of androgens such as 17
hydroprogesterone, testosterone and progesterone.9 Furthermore, thecal cells contain a higher level
of cytochrome P450 11A, CYP17 and 3 HSD2 genes.9 Increased androgens stimulate visceral

Random Acts Of Kindness Analysis
Random Acts of Kindness During the week, I decided to engage in some simple acts of
kindness that some people may overlook on a daily basis. The last two, I had done previously,
but chose to list them here so that I can discuss my experience. I opted to do the following deeds:
I let someone go ahead of me in the supermarket. I waited to hold the door open for someone. I
picked up two women with a baby, who were caught in the rain as they tried to make their way to
Walmart. I purchased a lunch for two young boys who were sitting behind my sister and me. I
picked up someone who needed a ride into town and bought them a meal from Mcdonalds. As I
was doing these deeds, I found that most of them came naturally; however, it was partly due to
how I was raised, but most importantly, because I was lead by the Holy Spirit. Whenever a need
must be met, I fill it if I am able. I find that anytime I do something good for someone else,
whether in secret or publicly, I benefit either way because it makes me feel good. I try to get
honest and introspective with myself asking, Why do I/we do good deeds? What is the motivation
behind it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire
to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out (Romans, 7:18). I find that even when I do carry it
out if I am honest with myself, many times it is probably for self gratification. In all of our
depravity, can we honestly say we did it out of the kindness of our hearts? Scripture tells us our
hearts are desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). I have no good, nor is there goodness in me apart
from Christ (Psalm 16:2). I say that because Christ Himself said no one is good, and that all of us
have gone astray. There is no one who does good, not even one (Romans 3:12, New International

Fructose Intolerance And The Aldolase B Gene And Fructose
Fructose Intolerance is caused by mutations in the aldolase B gene and Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate
aldolase. Both are important because it is responsible for gluconeogenesis and fructose metabolism.
Gluconeogenesis is the metabolic pathway that results in the production of glucose from non
carbohydrate carbon substrates or the opposite of Glycolysis (Figure 1). In simple terms, a
mutation on Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate would both hinder the production of pyruvate and the
production of glucose. Fructose Intolerance is also referred to as Fructose 1 Phosphate Aldolase
Deficiency. The modified enzymevaries in its original function and structure that derived from a
restricted genetic mutation (Cox, O Donnell, Camilleri, and Burghes).
Aldolase B is classified as a Lyase, or an enzyme that catalyzes the breaking of various bonds
means other than hydrolysis and oxidation. Lyase often forms a double bond or a new ring
structure. Fructose Intolerance is caused by mutations in the aldolase B gene which is expressed
in the liver (Malay, Allen, and Tolan). Its molecular compound is shown in Figure 2 and has two
active site residues, Lysine and Glutamate, as well as several charged residues. The functional
assignment is complex because of the proximity of the many charged amino acids found at the
active site. Figure 3 shows where the substitution of Proline for Alanine occur at position 149

How to properly build a character in Trove
Have you ever asked a player on Trove what their power rank is and was astonished by their
answer? Then this is how they got where they are and what you will need to get your character or
character up to the desired level.
The first thing you need to do when it comes to becoming a top Trovain player is to look at what
gives the power to you as the player. There are three big things that make up your characters. The
first one is the level of the character. Having a max level thirty character is one of the first things
you need. The second is to keep your eye on your mastery, each level you add to your mastery you

Another key factor you will notice as you are leveling up your character is you are unlocking
gem slots. This is key to the power rank portion of Trove, and that s why you need to be level 30
because by doing so you will have unlocked all gem slots and allow you to insert the maximum
number of gems onto that character.
After talking about leveling and gems a little I will go in a little deeper in the matter. To make
sure you can get into the desired portals as you level. Your face, hat, and weapon you should be
changing out with the items you pick up from dungeons if it will give you more power rank.
Your end gear type will be called Stellar gear but you will end up having to buy that from another
player using the in game currency but that will be needed later. So, in the mean time you will
focus on what gear you can find at the end of dungeons. This is also applied to the gems you will
get from opening the gem boxes you receive for completing dungeons. You wantto equip the
highest power ranked gem which is commonly received after opening seventy gem boxes.
The prime goal of you leveling and stick on gear is to reach ten thousand power rank and be
level thirty. You should be able to do such by leveling the radiant gems up to level fifteen that you
will find in Uber eight world. Once you get into Uber nine world with your ten thousand power
rank then you will need to change your game play a little on what gems you will equip

Brown V. The Board Of Education
Brown v. The Board of Education Topeka, Kansas, 1950, a young African American girl named
Linda Brown had to walk a mile to get to her school, crossing a railroad switchyard. She lived
seven blocks from an all white school. Linda s father, Oliver, tried to enroll her into the all white
school. The school denied her because of the color of her skin. Segregation was widespread
throughout our nation. Blacks believed that the separate but equal saying was false. They felt that
whites had more educational opportunities. Mr. Brown, along with the NAACP and many civic
leaders, fought for equal educational rights for all races. Brown v. The Board of Education case
and the events leading up to it had a positive effect on education and society. Community events in
our country leading up to the Brown v. The Board of Education case were segregated. The Plessy
v. Ferguson decision of 1896 made segregation stronger with the separate but equal doctrine. Blacks
and whites are separated in all areas of society, including education( Supreme Court Decisions ).
Segregation in schools existed throughout the nation. While segregated schools were legal, they
were never equal(Walker). There was a lack of educational and equal rights in African American

having the same educational rights and opportunities as white americans. An African American

The Ontological Argument For The Existence Of God
Descartes ontological argument is an echo of the original ontological argument for the existence of
God as proposed by St. Anselm in the 11th century. To illustrate the background of the ontological
argument, Anselm s argument works within a distinct framework of ontology that posits the
existence of God as necessity by virtue of its definition. In other words, for the mind to conceive of
an infinite, perfect God, ultimately implies that there must indeed be a perfect God that embodies
existence, for perfection cannot merely exist as a mental phenomenon. God is, according to Anselm,
self evident in the mind. Criticisms to this argument can be found in Anselm s contemporary,
Gaunilo, who argues that such an argument can be used to put... Show more content on

To apprehend God is akin to apprehending truths of mathematical nature; they are found within the
contents of the mind and are ontologically and logically true. Further, mathematical truths have
essences which necessitate their existence; for example, the fact of three angles equalling two
right angles is essential to the existence of the triangle. It is what makes the existing thing what it
is. As for the idea of God, Descartes writes, existence can no more be separated from the essence
of God. . Because God is defined as perfect, it then follows that God must therefore exist, as
existence is itself a perfection. In other words, perfection is existence, and to not exist would be less
than perfect; therefore, the ontological argument argues for necessity of God s existence by virtue of
his perfect essence. Strengths of the ontological argument, prima facie, are rather superficial and do
not withstand objection if the argument is further probed and examined. Therefore, I do not see
much strength in the argument itself, but in Descartes formulation of it. Firstly, of the few
strengths that are initially brought to mind, the argument employs succinct propositions and does
not rely upon evidence

The host he indicated must remember that every guest has a gift to offer. The guests may first have
been strangers but through interaction and engaging in the lives of the stranger, they are soon
recognized as guests. The book identified three specific types of hosts: parents, teacher, and helping
professionals. The hosts now have different thoughts and feeling about their guests (Nouwen,
1986). Parents view their children as the most precious gift, teachers now realizes that their students
have great potential, and helping professional are able to provide a safe environment for their
patients (Nouwen, 1986).
The third movement is from illusion to prayer. Nouwen (1986) indicated that most people live
their lives in an illusion that they will never die. They believe that they hold the key to all that
happens in their lives. They do not put God first in their lives and they do not realize that God is
in control of every aspect of their lives. There are three essentials elements to a fulfilling prayer
life; the Bible, silence, and spiritual guide (Nouwen, 1986). Reading the Bible, and being silence
as we mediate on the word of God. We gain understanding through the power of the Holy Spirit.
These spiritual references are able to help us work through the challenges we may encounter.
The conclusion of the book mentions the importance of spiritual guidance, and the importance of
prayer. Prayer is not only to be done is solitude, but

The Rail Line Extension Of The Metro Bus System
Minneapolis has been ranked as one of the worst areas in the United States when it comes to
traffic. Drivers in the Twin Cities spend an average of 63 hours per year stuck in traffic
according to a 2015 survey done by TomTom, a GPS navigation company. In hopes of solving the
traffic problem, the first rail line in Minnesota opened back in 2004. Since then there has been a
Green Line extension from St. Paul to Minneapolis. The original Blue Line provided 10.6 million
rides as of last year and the Green Line has provided 12.4 million rides. Both lines have
contributed to the decrease to the overall ridership of the Metro bus system. Due to the success of
the Minneapolis light railsystem there has been plans to expand it even further.
In May 2010, a southwest Green Line extension was finally approved. The southwest light rail
would extend the green line fourteen and a half miles. Adding sixteen new stations beginning in
downtown Minneapolis and running through St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden
Prairie. The total estimated cost for the project is $1.858 billion, costing the state of Minnesota a
total of $30.3 million. The rest of the funding comes from various sources such as Counties Transit
Improvement Board, Hennepin Country Regional Railroad Authority, Metropolitan Council, in
kind land transfers, and other local contributions. Construction is set to start in 2017 and end by
2021 if light rail is allowed to continue. This costly project has been approved and

My Lean Action Plan ( Lap )
Introduction: Your Lean Action Plan (LAP) It never ceases to amaze me, witnessing all of these
Fortune 500, even Fortune 100 and Fortune 50 companies reach such incredible heights. I mean
PEAK performances, all in the face of adversities and despite an intensely schizophrenic like,
creative environment. Meetings, in particular, seem to always be the FIRST that the company
has ever held. Not because they are inexperienced in holding meaningful conversations with
likeminded individuals. Instead, these meetings all seem like the first, because they are
completely lacking in any sense of direction. Honestly, I have felt as though they all file into a
conference room, having no agenda, no workflow and no organization whatsoever. They are, for
all intents and purposes, just various people, sitting in a conference room, making various
contributions, in an almost random pattern, that typically only ends with setting up another
meeting for the following week. A meeting that is going to be held in order to discuss what wasn
t accomplished in this weeks Important meeting. Essentially, wasting time, payroll and
intellectual energy, all for the purposes of Having a Meeting ! Case in point: Shortly after I made
the step into joining a large Ad agency, I was assigned to head the digital account for a major
home improvement store. I will spare you the details, only to tell you that you know them. In fact, I

Essay On Black Panther
The Black Panther party was founded by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. The Panthers
placed militant self defense of minority communities against the U.S Government, and fought to
establish revolutionary socialism through mass organizing and community based program.
(Baggins, Brian. Black Panther Party, www.marxists.org/history/usa/workers/black panthers/.).
During the 1960 s the civil rights movement was at its full strength. The BPP fought for change
in America for African Americans and even other minority groups too. They wrote the Black
Panther: Ten Pointe Program in the book War Against the Panthers by Huey Newton. It was a list
of wants they believe they deserved from the government. For example, point 2 in the list said We
want full employment for our people , during this time period many African Americans and other
minority groups were being discriminated against by not being hired by the business owners.

Optical Illusions Research Paper
Illusions can be early illusions, twentieth century illusions, twenty first century illusions, and new
illusions. Optical illusions started out in ancient Greece. John R. Opel made one of the earliest
optical illusion in 1854. Many optical illusions have been found in cave paintings. An optical
illusion is not appraised as an invention, but instead the result of a man mimicking the geometric
form seen in nature. First, our eyes skim, then our brains tend to jump to conclusions. The impact
on seeing something starts with light rays bouncing off an object. These rays enter the eyes through
the cornea. The cornea is a transparent layer forming the front of the eye. The cornea refracts the
light rays as they go through dark part of the eye, called the pupil. The iris(a flat, colored, ring
shaped membrane behind the cornea of the eye, with an adjustable circular opening(pupil) in the
center) contracts or expands to change the amount of light that goes through. Then, the light rays go
through the lens of your eye, biconvex structure in the eye that, along with the cornea, helps to
refract light to be focused on the retina. Last, the cell in the retina, called cones and rods, turn the
light into electrical signals. That gets sent through the optic nerves, where the mind clarifies them....

The physiological illusions are created when your brain and eyes have too much stimulus. The
stimulus could be light, movement, or color. An example of a physiological illusion would be
the images that you see after staring at a bright light. The other type of illusion is a cognitive

The checks and balance was created as a system of the constitution and is in place so that no part
of the government is too powerful. The judicial system should be able say if a warrant should be
allowed for any situation. These are the systems that were built in order to protect the United States
citizens. The patriotic act may have been created so that international terrorists operating on
American soil can be found and prosecuted but does that mean taking away the rights of American
citizens? Many citizens have come from countries where there is no freedom; they believed that the
United States was the only place where they could talk freely so they came. America can not put
distrust in to the hearts of those citizens by taking away the freedom to speak our minds. The
Patriot Act violates our first amendment rights that protected our free speech and expression. It also
violates the fourth amendment which protects citizens from unwarranted searches and seizures.
Some people say that they do not mind the Patriot Act because they don t have anything to hide, but
this kind of thinking is inconsistent. When you know that you are being recorded you would feel

Teenagers And The Young Adult Chart
Teenagers are the most perceptive individuals in every society they are just learning and
experiencing the real world without yet developing the mask and filter of adults; they see things
how they are, and they say things the way they are. They still have the innate curiosity of children
without the apathy that seems so rampant among those who actually have the power to change.
This is why it is so important to know how teenagers view the world, because they will be making
up the world in a few decades. There is no better way to know how they think than by examining
the literature they read.
Over the past few years, dystopian novels have topped the young adult charts. It is easy to just
write off the similarities between teenage aimed novels as just a standard story writing formula
for making money. However, by looking deeper into what these similarities really mean, we can
learn that these stories are similar for very important reasons. As Utopian scholar Lyman Tower
Sargent s states, It is particularly important that we understand the dreams and nightmares that are
directed at children and young adults (Hintz Ostry, 234). First, we need to take a look at what
dystopian fictions are, by definition. According to Aristotle, author of the Poetics, all forms of art
perform mimesis. Epic poetry and tragedy, as also comedy, dithyrambic poetry, and most pipe
playing and lyre playing, are all, viewed as a whole, modes of imitation (Aristotle) This concept of

Your Inner Fish The book Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin is an interesting novel that shows the

appealing because it helps to understand how we have come to be with some of the parts of our

Our similarities are so eye catching that it is hard to get back into thinking about hominids.
Shubin describes in the texts some reason why we have evolved the way that we have. All
evolutions of the creatures have changed into what they need to be for their surroundings. What
I liked least about this book was it was hard to follow sometimes and the text got a little
overwhelming with vocabulary. The intense cells names or the hard to pronounce genes were
hard to follow because I had to stop every time. Once Shubin got on his flow about some cell
type it seemed like he just kept going and going and the more I read, the more confused I would
be. Some areas may be superfluous but the areas that are unnecessary flow with the book. Like the
introductions of the chapters, Shubin always starts with a story or and experience closely related to
the topic so it brings you in. The parts that could be taken out help with the understanding of the
reading because it isn t that easy to follow. What I liked best was the stories at the beginnings of the
chapters so it is strange that they are what could be taken out. The stories made the introduction
more interesting and almost made up for not fully understanding the bulk of the chapter. What it
means to be human? To me what it means to be human was walking, talking, breathing air, being
the superior mammal. Now that has changed into a much deeper thinking of what makes us human.

he wants to gain power and create a name for himself. Okonkwo has many different emotions and
different ways to express them. Violence is a main action and emotion he uses to gain power and

and shows hardship all the way till the very end. This protagonist relays himself as a multi

others expenses. As the novel begins traditions and customs are taught by Okonkwo s dad

and gain power that is needed for the real world. Having a fear of becoming powerless sets the
tone for Okonkwo who wants to strive his hardest even when worst comes to worst. The father of
three shows violence as he gets taught new traditions and has sudden emotional outbursts. Many

The Rise Of The Chinese Economy
Throughout the world, there are many nations and regions that have undergone immense changes
to reach their modern positions in the international economy. One such location is China, which
experienced a major shift from a society revolved around independent sustenance in the agricultural
industry into a society revolved around socialism, direct funding for the Chinese government
through the Chinese people, and the mass production of goods with high demand in the global
market by co operatives. Of course, the changes in the workings of the Chinese economy
developed from the changes in the politics of China. On the 1st of October 1949, The People s
Republic of China was founded in Beijing. The founding of the party both marked the end of what
is today considered by historians the most profound revolutionary upheaval in modern history, in
which the Guomindang Party rose to power in China, issued many different currencies, and was
unable to control inflation, food shortages, and exponentially occurring price fixations; as well as
the beginning of the tides of socialism in China in the 20th century, which caused the contemporary
Chinese economic transformation. The Chinese economic transition from a centrally planned
economy and agrarian society to a market economy and unified, socialist society was ultimately
caused by the three Five Year Plans adopted by the growing Chinese Communist Party, which were

This has led to reduced interest income for the commercial banks and other financial institutions
and by extension reduction in profits (De Young and Roland, 2001; Dziobek, 1998; Uyemura and
Van Deventer, 1992).
Credit risk is the possibility that the actual return on an investment or loan extended will deviate
from that, which was expected (Conford, 2000). Coyle (2000) defines credit risk as losses from the
refusal or inability of credit customers to pay what is owed in full and on time. The main sources of
credit risk include, limited institutional capacity, inappropriate credit policies, volatile interest rates,
poor management, inappropriate laws, low capital and liquidity levels, directed lending, massive
licensing of banks, poor loan underwriting, reckless lending, poor credit assessment., no non
executive directors, poor loan underwriting, laxity in credit assessment, poor lending practices,
government interference and inadequate supervision by the central bank. To minimize these risks, it

Space Exploration Of The Cosmos Shakes
Mysterious Space
Space that s all there is that ever was and ever will be. One contemplation of the cosmos shakes:
shiver runs down the back, catches the throat, and there is a feeling weak, like a vague memory, if
you fall from a height. We recognize that touch the greatest of mysteries. But the development of
something unknown at the time held a sufficient amount of time. And this long journey that opens
the way for us to perfect contemplation of the cosmos and its component parts, is really considered
one of the truly worthy feats of mankind.
Man and the Cosmos cannot exist separately. They have always been the two particles of one
whole, the unknown, unexplored, new. Since early times, people and all mankind has sought to
pave the way in the universe. They wanted to know what there is out there. After all, human
curiosity, it is pushed on the development of beauty. Space exploration still has relevance.
Mankind continues to strive to learn something new, again surprise and reveal the most secret
mysteries of the universe. My task is to explain the main steps of space exploration and to show
you other side of the cosmonautic progress. To prove the integrity and unity of man and the
cosmos. Share on basic research and experiments. Show term study of the cosmos and the universe.
Let us at least for a few minutes, try to feel the atmosphere of the time, looking back and make
sure that, as a step by step legends are born. Legend cosmic childhood of Humanity. It would be a

A Serious Spinal Injury
There are an entire host of conditions and situations in which individuals may suffer a
fragmented neck or back that will cause a serious spinal injury. From sports injuries to car and
motorbike crashes, slips, trips and attacks, calamities at work, medical neglect, even infections
of the spinal nerve cells, cysts and tumors that press on the spinal cord and impair it. The
hardship of having suffered a serious spinal injury doesn t have to be the end of the road for an
active individual. As the door on a former life closes, so one to a new one opens. With the right
sort of support and supervision, many sufferers can in fact recuperate enough flexibility to permit
them to lead active and satisfying lives, and for many individuals it essentially

Noco Soccer Academy
NOCO Soccer Academy is a successful youth soccer training program is the market that Dyer
has been targeting. Dyer wants to grow his business enough to reach his strategic goal of building
a sports complex for his business to occupy. Dyer needs to double his business in order to support
this goal. In using S.W.O.T. analysis to evaluate NOCO s current situation it is clear that NOCO
has a number of things working for it already; customerretention is very high, awareness of
NOCO in its current market is close to 100 percent and Dyer has access to enough trainer
resources to continue his company s growth. Some of the obstacles NOCO faces in working
toward expansion are loss of customer base to high schoolsports programs after they reach 14...

This type of new program offering and adding one on one training for his current customers
would increase NOCO s market penetration in the 10 13 year old group too. Using customer
satisfaction surveys would be a great market research tool for Dyer to use to identify the types of
new programs his customers are looking for. Diversification in NOCO s target markets is another
avenue for Dyer to explore to expand his business. Consumers in Colorado are very interested in
soccer. Is there enough interest to warrant developing adult soccer teams? Is there a market for
toddler soccer training? What about a childcare program for younger kids so parents can watch
older kids compete in the tournaments? Dyer needs to hit the pavement in his community and in
the neighboring communities to get first hand feedback from the demographics he is targeting. In
order to increase awareness of his business in the towns adjacent to Fort Collins, Dyer could host
recruiting events in Loveland, Longmont and Greeley. With the information he gathers at those
events he could consider the viability of bussing new customers to Fort Collins or offering camps
outside his home base. This type of market development could be instrumental in growing NOCO
into the recognizable brand that Dyer wants it to be.
Dyer should evaluate all opportunities available to him and weigh them against their opportunity
cost before heading in any single direction with

F For False Movie Analysis
F for Wellesian Orson Welles had a long career full of unexpected rises and falls that was marked
by his personal desire to wow audiences and habitual straying from conventional means of
entertainment. From his The War of Worlds broad cast that caused audiences to fear for their lives,
to his performance in The Third Man, Welles strove to be memorable and invite audiences to rise
to his standards of entertainment. He fancied himself a magician; a theme that helped progress his
1973 filmF for Fake. Starting with his explosive youth into his last years, Welles accumulated
several habitual stylistic and narrative devices. Even as his films diversified his stylistic themes
continued to be common throughout, and the release of his questionable documentary in last
portion of life proved to continue this trend. F for Fake is a collage of material that created a
unique form of entertainment for the time. It is constructed in a way that does not point directly to
a single theme or central character.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early in the film the editing is shown in a flurry of confusion with only Welles s voice providing
a strong grounding point. The film is seemingly built before the audience s eyes, and de Hory
and Irving interact on a personal level without being physically co present. Welles then asks the
audience to consider the relationship of the biographer (Irving) with his subject (de Hory). At
this point Irving becomes the main focus and de Hory as his mentor. The fluidity come not from
the stories the men tell, but Welles s guidance of the two. His stability and power allow him to
be an expert on the matter, and like he has done with other characters in the film, Welles
questions the validity of an expert. If an art officiant can verify a forged painting by de Hory as a
Modigliani, then how can Welles be accepted as a truth teller? Welles shifts from the all knowing
narrator, to a forger and main

  • 2. The Monkeys Paw Character Analysis Zikera Newsome 6th period 03/07/17 The Monkeys Paw The Monkeys Paw by W.W Jacobs. This novel is taking place inside and around the White family home, called Laburnum Villa. The novel is probably set around the time it were to be published; in 1902.The author manipulate time by going slow. The setting changes but it does not affect how the characters are in the novel. As the story progresses, the house becomes progressively darker and spookier. He uses the horror genre to talk about some very serious issues. Sgt. Morris wanted to make three wishes because only three men could use it and the fakir was the man who put a spell on the paw but it also is a curse. The character I relate to the most is Mr. White because he is trying to protect the paw and people from it. Inside of the story is Man vs. Man because Mr. White is making a decision to make a wish or let three other men make the wishes their selves. Internal because man vs. man is inside decision he is having with himself. The first thing that happened in the story that changed it was that Mr. White gave the paw away for a trifle, second thing was that Mr. White came in with two hundred pound of British money, and the third thing was a man getting hurt in the second scene. A mystery is the outcome of the man disappearing without anyone knowing what happened. The monkeys paw is the central idea of the story and everything is around that title from page 26 it says, It had a spell put on it by an old Fakir, said the Sergeant Major, a very holy man. He wanted to show that fate ruled people s lives, and that those who interfered with it did so to their sorrow. He put a spell on it so that three separate men could each have three wishes from it. • 3. How Did The Abbasid Contribute To The Rise Of Islamic Economy From the third to the tenth century, the Muslim world had an unchallenged economic supremacy over the Occident and Orient. To this empire, no enemy posed a serious threat and, therefore, this economy became the most prosperous of its time. Combined with the spread of Islam across the world, previously sleeping agricultural and rural sectors suddenly flourished due to the establishment of law and order among Islamic territories. When this is paired with a geographically vast market that operated with no fear of caravans being assaulted en route, this motivated all of the Islamic faith to do their best for their own advancement and the benefit of their society. (Source) In addition, paper had a major impact on the Islamic economy. The discovery of the Chinese papermaking process was faster and easier than preparing parchment or papyrus. As a result, the use of paper spread like wildfire throughout the empire; eventually, shops began selling paper and books. In addition, business ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the factor of adoption is not present in the case, United Kingdom courts do not permit changes of domicile of unmarried children under the age of 16 unless their parents from whom they depend change their domicile. The only exception to the general rule can be inferred from Section 4 of the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973, according to which the domicile of dependency may be established in the light of the following connecting factors: a) changes of the father s domicile may justify changes in his child s domicile; b) the mother is entitled to elect whether her child s domicile must be changed with hers, under the condition of the father s death or of when the child is illegitimate. These dimensions were created based on simple problems that most societies have every day. The first dimension, power distance (PD), refers to hierarchy , to how inequality is approved by subordinates and superiors, how power is divided between societies and how people behave with authority. Hofstede divided this dimension in low which are societies with characteristics as inequality at the minimum level, everyone enjoy the same benefits, subordinates opinion is taken into account, managers should be democrat and high that includes societies that are autocrats superiors, centralized structure, dependent subordinates, hierarchy reflects difference, superiors have benefits. The second dimension is uncertainty avoidance, and it shows how people react when they feel threatened, societies that do not take risks or don t try new situations. This dimension is divided in low and the main characteristics are rules are not allowed, common sense, hard work is not a virtue, not structured activities. Vaccines Of Vaccines For Other Diseases Every year, vaccines save more than 2.5 million children, which is similar to about 285 every hour; however, not everyone in the world believes that vaccines are safe (ProCon). In 1796, British Doctor Edward Jenner created the first vaccine to prevent smallpox by noticing that the milkmaids who were exposed to cowpox were immune to it (Ballarlo). Scientists realized the importance of this and began to research on the creation of vaccines for other illnesses. Unexpectedly, it was French chemist Louis Pasteur who, while researching why there is spoilage in wine, found germs (Burge). His experiment consisted of two people, a young milkmaid who had cowpox and an eight year old boy. Firstly, he used the young milkmaid to infect the eight year old boy by taking cowpox matter (Ballarlo) from the milkmaid and injecting it into the boy s arm. A week after the inoculation, the boy became ill, but that only lasted a day. With that confirmation, Jenner experimented with cowpox. At first, he was hesitant, because he was afraid that his theory might be wrong, which would lead to the death of the boy. In the end, the boy stayed healthy for weeks and that was when Jenner concluded his theory was right. He named his discovery vaccine after the Latin word for cowpox, but scientists and researchers adapted this name to describe any agent that was able help people build immunity towards diseases by injecting a milder version of the disease. It was not until Pasteur s discovery that vaccines were able to defend against more diseases. Pasteur had been looking for a way to create a vaccine for anthrax, a type of disease in sheeps and cattle, when a scientist sent him a head of a rooster that had died of chicken cholera, asking him to help find a way to prevent it. I visited McDonald s first just after what could be considered the dinner rush. When walking into the store the first thing I noticed was the floor was fairly dirty, especially near the trash receptacles. There were clearly visible items of food that had fallen off of people s trays as they attempted to clear their trays off. I got into the line to order and noticed that there were three people ahead of me. There was only one McDonald s employee working the registers while I saw another standing by on their cell phone. I believe the second employee not working the registers was a manager. She was unaware of the line that had grown and when she looked up she signed into a register to help. I had gone into the store with the intention of only ordering a sweet tea, but if I were to have been offered an item I would buy it. I gave my order to the manager of only a sweet tea and she gave me my total. It was interesting to see that the manager did not try to upsell my order as I was only getting a $1 drink. As the drinks were a self service, I went to go get the sweet tea and found they were out of sweet tea. I informed the manager and she said they would get another one out. World War 1 also ushered in changes in the government of Japan. These changes were less visible differences and more a change in the ideas of how a government should be structured. Political party government took a long time to take hold. The Meiji Constitution was deliberately vague on the subject of executive responsibility. The last two, I had done previously, but chose to list them here so that I can discuss my experience. I opted to do the following deeds: I let someone go ahead of me in the supermarket. I waited to hold the door open for someone. I picked up two women with a baby, who were caught in the rain as they tried to make their way to Walmart. I purchased a lunch for two young boys who were sitting behind my sister and me. I picked up someone who needed a ride into town and bought them a meal from Mcdonalds. As I was doing these deeds, I found that most of them came naturally; however, it was partly due to how I was raised, but most importantly, because I was lead by the Holy Spirit. Whenever a need must be met, I fill it if I am able. I find that anytime I do something good for someone else, whether in secret or publicly, I benefit either way because it makes me feel good. Both are important because it is responsible for gluconeogenesis and fructose metabolism. Gluconeogenesis is the metabolic pathway that results in the production of glucose from non carbohydrate carbon substrates or the opposite of Glycolysis (Figure 1). In simple terms, a mutation on Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate would both hinder the production of pyruvate and the production of glucose. Fructose Intolerance is also referred to as Fructose 1 Phosphate Aldolase Deficiency. The modified enzymevaries in its original function and structure that derived from a restricted genetic mutation (Cox, O Donnell, Camilleri, and Burghes). Aldolase B is classified as a Lyase, or an enzyme that catalyzes the breaking of various bonds means other than hydrolysis and oxidation. Lyase often forms a double bond or a new ring structure. Fructose Intolerance is caused by mutations in the aldolase B gene which is expressed in the liver (Malay, Allen, and Tolan). Its molecular compound is shown in Figure 2 and has two active site residues, Lysine and Glutamate, as well as several charged residues. • 21. The Ontological Argument For The Existence Of God Descartes ontological argument is an echo of the original ontological argument for the existence of God as proposed by St. Anselm in the 11th century. To illustrate the background of the ontological argument, Anselm s argument works within a distinct framework of ontology that posits the existence of God as necessity by virtue of its definition. In other words, for the mind to conceive of an infinite, perfect God, ultimately implies that there must indeed be a perfect God that embodies existence, for perfection cannot merely exist as a mental phenomenon. God is, according to Anselm, self evident in the mind. Criticisms to this argument can be found in Anselm s contemporary, Gaunilo, who argues that such an argument can be used to put... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To apprehend God is akin to apprehending truths of mathematical nature; they are found within the contents of the mind and are ontologically and logically true. Further, mathematical truths have essences which necessitate their existence; for example, the fact of three angles equalling two right angles is essential to the existence of the triangle. It is what makes the existing thing what it is. As for the idea of God, Descartes writes, existence can no more be separated from the essence of God. . Because God is defined as perfect, it then follows that God must therefore exist, as existence is itself a perfection. In other words, perfection is existence, and to not exist would be less than perfect; therefore, the ontological argument argues for necessity of God s existence by virtue of his perfect essence. Strengths of the ontological argument, prima facie, are rather superficial and do not withstand objection if the argument is further probed and examined. Therefore, I do not see much strength in the argument itself, but in Descartes formulation of it. Firstly, of the few strengths that are initially brought to mind, the argument employs succinct propositions and does not rely upon evidence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Drivers in the Twin Cities spend an average of 63 hours per year stuck in traffic according to a 2015 survey done by TomTom, a GPS navigation company. In hopes of solving the traffic problem, the first rail line in Minnesota opened back in 2004. Since then there has been a Green Line extension from St. Paul to Minneapolis. The original Blue Line provided 10.6 million rides as of last year and the Green Line has provided 12.4 million rides. Optical illusions started out in ancient Greece. John R. Opel made one of the earliest optical illusion in 1854. Many optical illusions have been found in cave paintings. An optical illusion is not appraised as an invention, but instead the result of a man mimicking the geometric form seen in nature. First, our eyes skim, then our brains tend to jump to conclusions. The impact on seeing something starts with light rays bouncing off an object. These rays enter the eyes through the cornea. The cornea is a transparent layer forming the front of the eye. The cornea refracts the light rays as they go through dark part of the eye, called the pupil. The iris(a flat, colored, ring shaped membrane behind the cornea of the eye, with an adjustable circular opening(pupil) in the center) contracts or expands to change the amount of light that goes through. Then, the light rays go through the lens of your eye, biconvex structure in the eye that, along with the cornea, helps to refract light to be focused on the retina. Last, the cell in the retina, called cones and rods, turn the light into electrical signals. That gets sent through the optic nerves, where the mind clarifies them.... • 43. Noco Soccer Academy NOCO Soccer Academy is a successful youth soccer training program is the market that Dyer has been targeting. Dyer wants to grow his business enough to reach his strategic goal of building a sports complex for his business to occupy. Dyer needs to double his business in order to support this goal. In using S.W.O.T. analysis to evaluate NOCO s current situation it is clear that NOCO has a number of things working for it already; customerretention is very high, awareness of NOCO in its current market is close to 100 percent and Dyer has access to enough trainer resources to continue his company s growth. This type of new program offering and adding one on one training for his current customers would increase NOCO s market penetration in the 10 13 year old group too. Using customer satisfaction surveys would be a great market research tool for Dyer to use to identify the types of new programs his customers are looking for. Diversification in NOCO s target markets is another avenue for Dyer to explore to expand his business. Consumers in Colorado are very interested in soccer. Is there enough interest to warrant developing adult soccer teams? Is there a market for toddler soccer training? What about a childcare program for younger kids so parents can watch older kids compete in the tournaments? Dyer needs to hit the pavement in his community and in the neighboring communities to get first hand feedback from the demographics he is targeting. In order to increase awareness of his business in the towns adjacent to Fort Collins, Dyer could host recruiting events in Loveland, Longmont and Greeley. With the information he gathers at those events he could consider the viability of bussing new customers to Fort Collins or offering camps outside his home base. This type of market development could be instrumental in growing NOCO into the recognizable brand that Dyer wants it to be. Dyer should evaluate all opportunities available to him and weigh them against their opportunity cost before heading in any single direction with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. F For False Movie Analysis F for Wellesian Orson Welles had a long career full of unexpected rises and falls that was marked by his personal desire to wow audiences and habitual straying from conventional means of entertainment. From his The War of Worlds broad cast that caused audiences to fear for their lives, to his performance in The Third Man, Welles strove to be memorable and invite audiences to rise to his standards of entertainment. He fancied himself a magician; a theme that helped progress his 1973 filmF for Fake. Starting with his explosive youth into his last years, Welles accumulated several habitual stylistic and narrative devices. Even as his films diversified his stylistic themes continued to be common throughout, and the release of his questionable documentary in last portion of life proved to continue this trend. F for Fake is a collage of material that created a unique form of entertainment for the time. It is constructed in a way that does not point directly to a single theme or central character.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Early in the film the editing is shown in a flurry of confusion with only Welles s voice providing a strong grounding point. The film is seemingly built before the audience s eyes, and de Hory and Irving interact on a personal level without being physically co present. Welles then asks the audience to consider the relationship of the biographer (Irving) with his subject (de Hory). At this point Irving becomes the main focus and de Hory as his mentor. The fluidity come not from the stories the men tell, but Welles s guidance of the two. His stability and power allow him to be an expert on the matter, and like he has done with other characters in the film, Welles questions the validity of an expert. If an art officiant can verify a forged painting by de Hory as a Modigliani, then how can Welles be accepted as a truth teller? Welles shifts from the all knowing narrator, to a forger and main ...
