Essay about The Cause of Hatred and Distrust in the Middle...
The Cause of Hatred and Distrust in the Middle East
The war in Iraq is further poisoning the already noxious political atmosphere between Arabs and
Americans. It has intensified and increased dangerous feelings of humiliation and outrage among the
Arab public, while paranoid rhetoric about Western attacks against Islam elsewhere is spreading from
the religious fringe to the mainstream. It is simplistic and self serving for political leaders in the West
to tell us that the terrorists attacks happen because they hate freedom, or hate our democratic values or
they despise our love of liberty. Many, in fact, hate what they perceive as materialistic Western values,
but this is not what leads them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that about 20% of the world s population is Muslim, 18% Christian, and 2.1% Jewish. Of
the 13 million Jews in the world, about 5.8 million live in the United States and about 4.8 million live
in Israel. This boils down to the fact that about 80% of the population in Israel is Jewish and about
20% (or 1.1 million) is Arab Muslims. The population in the West Bank (a dry, land locked area of
about 5,860 square miles right smack in the middle of Israel) is about two million, of which
Palestinian Arabs comprise 83% (1.7 million) and Jews comprise about 17% (340,000). The
predominant religions in the West Bank are thus about 75% Muslim and 17% Jewish (with the balance
being mostly Christians). Basically there are about two million Arab Muslims surrounded by about 4.8
million Jews. The Arabs and the Jews hate each other and have been fighting since the United Nations
had the brilliant idea of partitioning the country in this insane manner in 1947 (CIA par.3).
Also, U.S. aid to Israel has played a major role in tension between Arabs and America and between
Arabs and Israel. On Ted Koppel s (NIGHTLINE), Henry Sigman said: The U.S. is seen as a sort of an
insensitive hegemony, with arrogance that seeks to impose its own values on the rest of the world. It is
seen as an uncritical supporter of the State of Israel in its conflict with the Palestinians and the

The West Wing Gender Roles
The television political series The West Wing was an enormously popular program during its original
airing from 1999 2006. The show is highly rated amongst fans and critics alike and is still watched
today on outlets like DVDs and Netflix. The West Wing depicted American politics during the
fictional Presidency of Josiah Bartlet. The show was quick witted, dramatic, comical, and
revolutionary. It gave viewers an in depth view of the White House and the day to day lives of the men
and women who run the American government on a day to day basis. The West Wing had large
numbers of female characters throughout the series, but a few characters were shown far more
frequently and prominently. The show had female characters that were strong, dedicated, ... Show

This is in the fifth season (the show has seven seasons in total) and Donna has made it clear to Josh
and other West Wing staff that she wants to start taking on more responsibility beyond just being Josh
s assistant. She is sent off to the Gaza Strip along with other White House officials to be a part of the
discussion of the issues between the rivaling Israelis and Palestinians. This is one of the very few
episodes that focus on Donna that are not directly about her relationship with Josh, so, as expected, the
writers felt it necessary to write a romantic/sexual storyline to go along with Donna s trip. The episode
begins with showing Donna involved in a car explosion and her fate is unknown until the end of the
episode. The majority of the episode is a flashback to the day s previous events. During Donna s time
in Gaza, she meets a handsome photojournalist who shows her around and spends the day with her,
the day culminating in them having sex. The following episodes where Donna recovers from the car
explosion in the hospital, she is visited by both Josh and the photojournalist in the hospital,
highlighting Josh s true feelings for Donna. Donna never truly gets an opportunity to enjoy her time
spent doing additional work because she is immediately injured. Her storyline focuses primarily on
her romance with Josh and the photojournalist rather than anything having to do with Donna s career
advances. The photojournalist disappears a few episodes after the Gaza episode and is never brought
up again, all hinting that Josh and Donna are destined to be together in the end. Donna would not
move up in her career until the end of the series when her and Josh finally get together and stay
together. Donna s character exists only because Josh s does, she is never given enough of her own
storyline by the show s writers to make her

Non Fiction Setting
There are several aspects that, while not necessarily essential, are very important in creating a story.
Note that this only applicable to works of fiction, non fiction is of course based on facts. For a story to
be worth reading there should be a main character or characters, a conflict, feeling, a plot, and a
setting. Even if this work is a parody of another, the new work should contain the same or similar
basic aspects as the original. The first two elements of writing that can and should be gone through
before even writing are the characters and the setting. Most of the time these two will be similar, a
cowboy near the Colorado River, the galactic rangers on the Armēnè asteroid belt, or the seven knights
of Hrathgàr at the gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The actions and dialogue of the characters should have a purpose that the reader can look deeper into.
The description of people, places, and things should also be a well practiced skill. The main goal
should be to leave a lasting impression on the reader. As an example The brave hero stood strong
against his terror including foe, the man he once saw as a brother, the mighty dark mage Zerross. Their
battle was equally matched, though the mage was pushed farther and farther back with each swing of
the hero s mighty sword the mage was pushed farther back. The had also become injured, several
broken ribs, a large burn across his war torn chest, and millions of cuts and bruises adorned his body.
Zerross began to gather power from around him, and soon started to glow with an ethereal light.
However, the hero stood his ground and readied his blade. With the flick of the wrist the dark mage
sent out a beam of pure energy with the power to split the earth in two at the hero. In return, the hero
simply stood with his sword at his side, and fell to his knees without anymore energy to fight. The
beam hit its mark, directly through the hero s heart. The dark mage stood triumphant as the hero fell
and the heavens wept. For clarification, these elements are only guidelines. The final product is the
expression of the writer, and rightfully so. These aspects are instead meant to help draw in the reader,
to make them see the story in their mind as if they were watching a movie. Also, if there is enough of
an emotional tie with a character, then that character will be left in the minds of the readers for months
or even years. The one aspect of a great novel is its ability to be

Database System Cost And Its File Size Essay
1. Answer:
Data processing means assembly and manipulation of items of data so that it produces meaningful
information. Data means known facts that can be recorded and have implicit meaning.
Processing of data can be done in many ways.
Manually
Automatically
Computerized
Following are the Advantages:
Using same amount of data acquire more information.

Once upon of time there was a boy born to a family named the Wardors. The Wardors were unlike
most things that lived in the Sector 989 Galaxy. They were skilled craftsmen who made cosmic or
space weapons and sold them to anyone they could find. One Thing they sold were these things called
black hole grenades. The black hole grenades transported anything that was thrown at them to some
random black hole in the galaxy. Another weapon was the dark arrow. The dark arrow was an normal

black arrow came a leather jacket with a hood, the hood sensed the thought of the user and did what

Psychoanalysis And Psychoanalysis
On Humanism and Psychoanalysis
The following essay is an interpretive analysis of Psychoanalysis and Humanism as two influential
schools of thought in Psychology. In this essay, the main assumptions of each school of thought will
be highlighted, starting with Psychoanalysis followed by Humanism. Furthermore there will be a
comparative analysis of both schools of thoughts based on both their strength and weaknesses, in
attempt to find where the two complement each other and more over to see where the two schools of
thought come into dispute with one another particularly on the basis of Humanism being reaction to

As an antithesis to psychoanalysis, Humanism also purports that humans are free agents that are
capable of self actualizing. However, psychoanalysis provides an interesting basis to understanding
how humans interact with the reality around them especially in attaching symbols to dreams, ignoring
the fact of sexual urges. The problem is that Freud presents humans as incapable of being autonomous
or interacting with the environment in order to have certain metal illnesses Freud trivializes anxiety.
The negative aspect of humanism, which can be linked to psychoanalysis, is that the focus is primarily
on the individual and not the community that filters in more factors that contribute to the personality,
illness or well being of the individual.
The main focus of psychoanalysis is viewing the development and behaviour of a human being as
processes that are guided by unconscious conflict that threatens to come to the surface manifest a

other hand emphasizes self actualization, and views humans as inherently good, individual agents who

this happiness would soon change. Two days later, Sophia was leaving school. Two secret service

Modern Political History of Israel and Iran
Since World War II, religion has played a significant role in the modern political history of Israel and
Iran. Both countries are self defined theological states (Israel as a Jewish state, Iran as an Islamic
state). Although the impact of religion changes across time and context, religion has largely defined
political identity for both Israel and Iran. Yet, modern states are host to many paradoxes. Religion is
important in defining these states, however the workings of each country are not always religious in
practice. The State of Israel was founded in 1948 as a Jewish state. At the time of Israel s founding,
Jews made up only 32% of Palestine (Yiftachel, 58). In order to accomplish the goal of creating a
Jewish state, it was imperative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issues of marriage and military service exemplify how religion has and continues to affect Israeli
political history. Yet like many modern states Israel exhibits many paradoxes. By definition Israel has
succeeded in establishing itself as a Jewish state. Judaism has also permeated throughout aspects of
culture and politics. However in practice, a large percentage of Israeli citizens are not religiously
observant. According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2009, 42% of Jewish Israelis
identified as secular. That is in comparison to 8% ultra Orthodox, 12% religious and 13% religiously
observant (Shtull Trauring, 2010). While a significant portion of Israeli citizens view Judaism as being
important to their lives, the 42% of Israelis that identified as being secular indicates that although in
definition Israel is a Jewish state, in practice religion is not important for many Israelis. The other self
defined theological Middle Eastern state is the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since 1979, religion has
played a major role in Iranian political history. When the revolution succeeded in 1979, despite it
being a combined effort between religious and secular democratic factions, it was widely recognized
that Shia Islam had been necessary to the success of the revolution (Majd, 6). As Majd says,
When...countless Iranians...voted in the yes or no ballot following the Shah s downfall, we

The Great Leadership Of The Shah
FEW US PRESIDENTS got it as wrong as Jimmy Carter, when, on New Year s Eve 1977, during a
state visit to Iran he confidently opined: Iran, because of the great leadership of the Shah, is an island
of stability in one of the more troubled areas of the world. The President spoke way too soon. A week
later, the Shah s police shot down dozens of theology students in the holy city of Qom as they
demonstrated against a scurrilous attack on the prominent Muslim cleric Ayatollah Khomeini in a pro
government newspaper.
The incident triggered off a year of growing protest that climaxed in a full blown revolution. The Shah
s government collapsed. He was forced out of Iran and into exile.
US relations with the new regime began to deteriorate speedily. The catalyst was the events that took
place on 4 November, when, angered by the US government s decision to allow the exiled Shah into
the US for cancer treatment, a mob of young Iranians, mostly radical university students and
supporters of Ayatollah Khomeini, laid siege to the US Embassy in Tehran. They surged over the wall
around the Embassy compound and broke into its buildings. Most of the embassy personnel in the
compound were taken hostage. Their ordeal was to last for the next 14 months.

How Did Rome Influence Greek Culture
Ancient Greek history has played a vital role in cultures throughout time. From its neighbors in
Europe to all the way across the Atlantic, ancient Greece has influenced many nations. From United
States to Canada to Mexico, the influence of Greece can still be seen today. While the influence of
ancient Greece is grand, there was one place that was so enamored by the Greek way of life, that they
seemingly adopted it as its own. The culture of ancient Rome so closely mirrors that of ancient Greek
society that it is not uncommon to mix the two up. Since the Roman Empire did not flourish until after
the Greek downfall, it is known that the Romans were directly influenced by the Greeks. Assimilation
Of Greek cultural traditions created a bizarre situation, in which Rome was culturally Greek, but it
was culturally unique, as it still retained influences from early Italians. While it is obvious that the
Romans were influenced by the Greeks, one may wonder when this cultural assimilation of Greek
culture began. The Roman conquest of Greece was a period in time where The Romans and the
Greeks were at war and how eventually Greece became one of the first provinces of the emerging
Roman Empire.

Soul Sisters Come On To My House Summary
In Soul Sisters, Come on to My House Susan Freire Korn argued in her book s introduction that her
purposes were to help people transmit from the state of being aware of the cultural variations and
differences, to a state of susceptibility and willingness to utterly embrace and value these variations in
cultures. This susceptibility was identified as: cultural sensitivity which was destined to help
employees within life and work environments to treat each other courteously, with respect and dignity
(Freire Korn, 2011).
Freire Korn in her book went further and stated that people need more than treating each other with
respect and dignity, but rather need a wider understanding, compassion, kindness, a profound

Being enclosed, locked up inside cages and inner universes of stubbornness and inflexibility, hinder
ethnocentric individuals from seeing and viewing the world equally and reasonably. Hence, Cultural
relativists seek to understand the reason why individuals from another culture dress, speak or eat in
particular way. Namely, they suppress judgments in order to understand people by their own norms
because for relativists, no culture is better or worse than another culture. With the advance of human
rights, adherence to ethnicity is not an imposition and compulsion where it became a matter of choice
(C.L. Khatri, 2005). It is important to resume that cultural relativism strives to promote an equal
vision and perception of all existing cultures and cultural ideologies. Yet the role of communicative
skills and languages is pivotal to accomplish the cultural interaction and understanding. Accordingly,
since the use of English language dominated the globe, it can be used to maintain a relativist approach

Advantages Of Online Education Vs Traditional Liberal Arts...
Research Paper One of the main goals in life is to find a great career and start a family. Well in order
to be eligible for a career one need to go to college and get a degree. When it comes to college
students have to option to take classes online and in class. This research paper is to compare the
disadvantages and advantages of online education vs traditional liberal arts education through case
studies. The first case study that I found was on done at Delgabon Community College by Ph.D.
Jennifer R. Lang. Lang brings forth man problems. The problems that Lang discussed were lack of
classroom availability, lack of class room space and extra help foe student that takes classes on line. It
was shown that the school didn t have enough space to have extra classes added in a day. With that
being the case students were limited to times and classes they could take per semester. The other
issues was lack of class room space. This issue caused students to have to register early for a class and
if they didn t register early enough they had to take an online class or wait to the next semester to take
that particular class. This is a problem toward online classes because it causes the online class to be
more of an alternative for students rather than a choice. This is why students that take online class
rooms need to have extra help because they wanted a face to face learning experience but instead were
forced to take a class online. When it comes to online classes most students

Slavery In The Piano Lesson
Slavery: The Piano Lesson The role of slavery in the lives of African American characters in The
Piano Lesson is extremely important. Every single motivating factor and aspect of the play revolves
around undertones of slavery. From the history of the piano to Boy Willie s dream of owning land, the
entire play deals with this issue. Berniece and Boy Willie may want different things, but they both are
trying to break free of oppression. It is clear that in The Piano Lesson the legacy of slavery deeply
affects all characters, henceforth motivating them in every aspect of their lives to break free from the
mold that is slavery. Boy Willie wants one thing in his entire life and that is to own land. To him there

Essay On Bossa Nova
As Christopher Small, it is true that there is no culture ever disappears but it is transformed over and
over again through the new one (Small, On cultures and their fusion 1998). Bossa nova, means „new
trend‟, is a kind of Brazilian music that is transformed by two fusion; samba and strong American jazz
influenced (Wikipedia). It was known in 1957 and 1963 especially among young students and
musicians who would like to bring a complicated combination of melody to be harmony and be more
relaxing rather than using powerful voice and strong meaning. According to Tom Jobim, one of the
fathers of bossa nova, said music is the silence between the notes (Just landed 2016). The interesting

Bossa nova becomes well known in worldwide; not only in Brazil and North

national people by new technologies (Administrator_v 2006). The transnationalism makes the world

1. About Kazakhstan: An Introduction
Kazakhstan is the largest ex Soviet Union state and the ninth largest country worldwide, but it is
sparsely populated with 17 million inhabitants (13th lowest population density worldwide). The
extractive sector, the backbone of the economy, is dominated by international companies, which
finance their activities from their foreign parent companies. Consequently, Kazakhstan has a high
level of private foreign debt. The state is strongly present in the economy. Its investment holding
company, Samruk Kazyna, holds assets to tilling 50% of GDP, divided over the oil, gas and financial
sectors. The participation in the financial sector is a consequence of a bail out after the 2009 crisis,
when the banking sector was overhauled. China is the most important business partner for Kazakhstan
due to its share in trade and investments (China currently holds 24% of the oil sector).
2. Economy
The role and economic significance of the countries of Central Asia have been transformed over the
past decade. High oil and commodity prices have been a key factor in their impressive growth, but
growth has also followed post independence reforms in economic

McGuire had one passenger in the front seat. I noticed McGuire s red were red, bloodshot and glassy. I
asked McGuire for her registration, license, and insurance. When McGuire was retrieving her license
used the pads of her fingers to get the license out. As McGuire spoke I noticed her speech was slow
and slurred. McGuire provided the requested documentation. McGuire repeatedly told me she had
been crying.
I returned to McGuire s vehicle and asked her to step from the vehicle, she complied. Once outside the
vehicle I noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from
McGuire s person. I asked McGuire how much she had to drink tonight, and she said, a couple. I
asked McGuire how much was a couple and she said earlier they were at the Casino. McGuire said she
was coming from the Casino.
I asked McGuire if she was willing to do some voluntary field sobriety tests to make sure she was
okay to drive, she said she would. McGuire said she had no physical impairments. I demonstrated and
conducted the field sobriety tests in accordance with my training.
The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. During this test I had to tell McGuire multiple
times to keep her head still. Additionally, during the entire test McGuire swayed in a circular manner. I
observed lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained Nystagmus at max deviation and angle of
onset prior to 45 degrees in both

Latex Balloon Speech
Introductory Paragraph
Thesis: Latex balloons should not be banned due to their possibility of harming the environment,
considering that the latex balloon has become essential for balloon decor and much more, such as
latex creations presented as art.
Body of Argument Paragraph 1:
Background Info: The first balloon art creation is known as the balloon dog. It is not known when
balloon art began, but several historians believe the art may have gotten its start with Herman Bonnert
from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who some believe started twisting balloons into animal shapes at
magicians conventions in the late 1930s ( Who Invented Balloon Animal? ). The balloon animal
shapes are created by balloon benders, or balloon twisters. This special talent consists of using one
balloon that will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Refutation: Balloons function for art and ordinary celebrations without the requirement of helium (or
other gases) which elevate the latex substance.
Many balloon sculptures and businesses promote more balloon sculptures or columns that require no
helium filled balloons.
As well, balloon droppings, or the release of air balloons previously attached to a ceiling by a net, are
suggested instead of balloon launchings.
Body of Argument Paragraph 3: A career based off latex balloons may seem impossible, more so now
due to regulations on balloon inflation, however many small business have grown into sellers for
corporate buyers seeking balloon art.
Claim: Balloon artistry may be like any other job, yet more suitable because a person may earn an
income from a work he or she enjoys.
Evidence: To execute professional balloon art it takes a college education or at least balloon training

The Role of Spices on the Expansion of Europe Essay
Within the development of Europe, one would think that religion and politics played the key roles in
shaping the regions, in which they did, but many individuals don t realize the true impact of the role
spices played in the evolution of the economy and expansion of Europe. Food alone represented a vast
field of human experience and shaped peoples beliefs and values, aesthetics and most importantly
their social attitudes toward one another. Spices contributed to these attitudes, providing a potential
window for the individual to change their understanding of the political and social life of certain
cultures and nations. The main question that the author, Paul Freedman poses within the text is, why
did the Europeans and the Romans before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The high prices were initiated by the merchants themselves, preventing common folk from buying
certain spices as nonchalantly as the upper class achieved. This was not due to the difficulty of
obtaining the certain spices but based on the occurrence that certain merchants were infatuated with
profit. Obtaining the spices wasn t as difficult as one would think even after the collapse of Roman
power, since spices continued to find their way from Asia to Europe. Although many merchants priced
certain spices based on their rarity. Which was classified in three categories: intrinsic, circumstantial,
and artificial. Intrinsic rarity would entail that nature doesn t produce many of them, growing in
certain places under special conditions or climates. Circumstantial rarity, as Freedman explains is,
nature rather than human intervention limits the supply, either by climate, soil, or other obstacles . The
last of the three was artificial rarity is caused by deliberate human action in order to limit the supply
and drive up prices. In accordance with profit, merchants would even tamper with their merchandises,
which eventually led to the creation of Zibaldone da Canal , a handbook that included tips on how to
distinguish quality spices from adulterated products. It is commonly seen in modern times that
producers altered their products, but

Tulips and Cut by Sylvia Plath
Tulips and Cut
Sylvia Plath is a confessional who puts her own experiences in her works that were written during the
eighteen century. Sylvia Plath was diagnosed with depression, but recovered when she first attempted
suicide in college. In her marriage to Ted Hughes she fell back into depression, which led her to
attempt suicide and again this time she died .During the twentieth century, women in American culture
were treated as objects without a voice, and male dominance suppressed them. Plath uses allusion,
symbolism and metaphors throughout her poems Tulips and Cut to demonstrate the theme of women
in American culture.
Plath uses allusions throughout her poems Tulips and Cut to display women s culture in America. In
Tulips she uses the biblical allusion of Shutting their mouths on it, like Communion tablet to illustrate
how the dead and herself come close to pure tranquility by staying utterly still as a rock (line 35). The
biblical allusion demonstrates women s culture in the United States by women accepting the
opportunity for tranquility, to flee from their social duties as mother and wife. In the last stanza of
Tulips Plath says, The tulips should be behind bars like dangerous animals; /They are opening like a
mouth of some great African cat allocates how her social restrains are eating her like a African cat
(lines 58 59). This demonstrates how women in American culture like Plath, are compelled to social
boundaries by a lack of freedom.

Women s Equality Between Men And Women
Women in the Workforce
Equality between men and women has been a topic for discussion. Women inequality in the workforce
has been a debate for many years. Tons of research has been conducted trying to find out why women
get paid less than men in the workforce. The Equal Pay Act was created in 1963 that aimed to abolish
wage disparity between genders. However, it can be seen that women are still paid less. Women are
paid less than men because of the careers that they choose and their family responsibilities. Women
entered the workforce later than men. They were known to be stay at home mothers, while the men
were the breadwinners. When men were off at war, women needed to help financially so they entered
the workforce. Since mothers were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The increase in women in the workforce started back in the 1960s. This is because this was the time
when The Pill was created. Therefore, women could decide when to have a child. They could postpone
having children and enter the workforce instead. Also around this time, many women s movements
help change the cultural norms and made it easier for women to be seen in the workforce (Croteau
Hoynes, 2013). However, in the last 40 to 50 years, women have been gradually working into those
male jobs. They are still not making the same as men. In fact Wall indicated women are making only
76.5% of men s [wages] a gender wage gap of 23.5 cents for every dollar earned by the median man
(Kennedy, Nagata, Mushenski, Johnson, 2008). Women have been discriminated in the workforce.
One reason would be the glass Ceiling. The Glass Ceiling is the often invisible barrier created by
individual and institutional sexism that prevents qualified women from advancing to high levels of
leadership and management (Croteau, 2013). This lead to the Glass Ceiling Act. This was research
conducted by the government that would come to a conclusion on how to get rid of barriers that would
let women advance in the workforce. In 1995, the government s research issued a report. (Parcheta,
Kaifi, Khanfar, 2013). It found that ...of Fortune 1000 industrial and Fortune 500 companies...95 to
97% are male. In Fortune 2000 industrial and service companies, 5% of senior

ending the American Revolution. In the past, Cornwallis had driven General George Washington s
Patriot forces out of New Jersey in 1776, and led his Redcoats in victory over General Horatio Gates

less successful, however, and in April 1781, he led his weary and battered troops toward the Virginia

Step outside and take a look around you take a look at nature. Green grass. Green trees. Green bugs.
Green frogs. It is simple to conclude that green is an ordinary color. In light of this, Kermit the Frog
bears the argument that is it not easy being common is it rather difficult to be unique and emerge from
the crowd. In spite of this, people should love themselves for who they are and not let the judgment of
others define who they are. Kermit s aphorism relates to my life, as there have been several instances
in which I have contemplated to myself, What makes me unique? With so many people in this world,
what sets me apart from everybody else? Throughout these past years, I have managed to proudly
answer these questions myself. I am

Dopamine Replacement Therapy Research Paper

In the basal ganglia, one of the crucial neuro modulator is dopamine. It interacts with basal ganglia
output nuclei and regulates the motor activity. In Parkinson s disease dopaminergic neuron Substantia
Nigra Pars Compacta(Snc) degenerated which is the main provenience of dopamine origination. The

Neuronal Synchronization
In normal subjects neurons fire independently and procure less synchrony. But in the case of disease
state, subset or most of the neurons in the basal ganglia nuclei tend to fire together and exhibit greater
rate of synchrony. Individual synchrony investigation on pallidum nuclei suggest that Gpi neuron
represents increased synchrony when compared to Gpe neuron.
3. Treatment regime Dopamine Treatment ON/OFF state:
Posterior to MPTP treatment dopamine therapy was administered twice a day.
DRT OFF: After 12 hours of dopamine regime the neuronal firing rate/ synchrony was monitored.
DRT ON: Dopamine therapy was provided to the subjects after 35 minutes later the firing rate was
monitored for an hour. Dopamine therapy decreases the synchronization and reverses the firing rate of
pallidum rneuron. But very less of Gpi neuron is firing when compared to normal. After six weeks of
DRT treatment resulted in dykinetic behavior in primates (side effect of L dopa medication) In human
it takes some years to exhibit this behavioral activity due to species divergence and drug metabolism.

Essay On Gustav Koch
Gustav Koch is a dissonance loving composer in the contemporary classical music scene of the future
who is preparing to have his pieces performed by a group of musicians on the planet Vetros. This
celestial body solely comprises an eminent concert hall. In spite of Koch artistic ambitions, he is
living under the shadow of death; during rehearsals, his performers die one by one. Charley is baffled
by Koch s phraseology as used in this concert s programme notes which the Doctor intercepted.
Explaining that his compositions contain pre Wagnerian dodecaphony with Mozartian phrases, thus
incorporating asymmetrical passages with an oxymoronically balanced contour, Koch then apologises
by stating that as cumbrous as this is, no shorthand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All who prejudged Koch are now mourning over him. Back in the TARDIS, The Doctor admires Koch
s progressive ideology yet Charley muses on why she despises dissonance. Why is it that Koch started
out composing consonant and not dissonant music as a student? Was he terror stricken, mortified or
disgusted with the disharmony? If so, why? The terrorist we ve just met has its temporal echoes
throughout space, Charley, thus installing am instinctive prejudice against its food dissonance.
Consonance will enjoy artificial reign over dissonance for eternity; it will be the most preferred

Depression Is A Prison Dorothy Rowe Analysis
Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer is a quote by
Dorothy Rowe that describes the struggle I had in my first two years of high school. I was not the
person that I wanted to be. During this time I was isolated and ostracized by my friends. To teenagers
in high school, friends are everything and my friends became nothing like how I thought they would
be. My friends changed and so did my world. I started to slip into a world of darkness. I was so
unhappy that I came to the point of wanting to cease my existence.
My friends became the stereotypical jocks who looked down on people who cared more about grades.

The Importance Of Workplace Conflict
Conflict is a natural part of human existence. It occurs in just about any environment and the
workplace is no exception. Conflicts arise when there is a difference of opinion between two or more
persons (Cohen, 2014). Workplace conflicts can be difficult to resolve, however, unresolved conflicts
can result in poor interpersonal relationships, compromise employee loyalty, and even jeopardize
quality and safety (Bowers Ferron, 2014). While unresolved conflicts may have deleterious effects on
the work environment, healthy conflict resolution can lead to creativity and growth (Bowers Ferron,
2014). One of the main sources of conflict between employees, supervisors, and the human resource
(HR) department is poor communication. Nurses can experience conflict with other nurses due
perceptions of favoritism, poor team work, and unfair work assignments as can employees in any field
of work. According to Cohen (2014), a common misconception among nurse managers is that nurses
can resolve conflicts on their own with little or no guidance. However, Cohen argues that most nurses
have little or no formal training in conflict resolution and that they often cope with conflict in the
workplace much like they do in their personal lives (2014). As a result, less than ideal conflict
resolution approaches such as avoidance behaviors and unprofessional body language or verbal
responses are used which serve only to further exacerbate problems (Cohen, 2014). Leaders have a

Culture of Trinidad Essay
Culture of Trinidad
According to the encyclopedia, culture is defined as The totality of socially transmitted behavior
patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought
[www.wikipedia.com]. In Trinidad these particular aspects are very distinct to the people s daily lives
on the island. The diversity of actual cultures and ethnicities on the island has melted together over the
centuries to create a Trinidadian culture of its own. There are influences from almost every part of the
world including, India, China, the United States, Lebanon, Spain, Britian, Africa, and cultures native
the Caribbean.

These African religions are extremely important to many who wish to recognize their roots. In earlier
centuries these foreign practices were banned by slaves attempting to hold on to their culture, and over
the years they have come to represent a sense of liberation and freedom to be African (Brereton, A
History of Modern Trinidad). Overall nowadays the country s differing religious groups coexist and
generally respect each other s beliefs and practices. People of one faith openly participate in
celebrations of another faith [www.state.gov.htm].
Food is another obvious way to demonstrate the diversity of culture in Trinidad. As are the people,
food is influenced by almost every part of the world. There dishes traditional to the Caribbean,
prepared with products naturally found on the island. There are dishes with influences from the
Spanish conquistadors with their meats and different fruits, also the Indian immigration brought curry
flavors and dishes to Trinidad. A very well known Indian dish on the island is roti, which consists of
flat bread wrapped around a spicy stew of meat, potatoes, and vegetables. The English, French and
Dutch brought large scale cultivation of sugarcane. Initially the Carib s diet consisted of meats such as
guinea pig, alligator, fish, iguana and turtle. Cassava, pineapple and cashews are native to Trinidad as
well. The Spanish arriving on the island were intrigued by this method of

Wal Mart Stores Perhaps one of the most commonly cited success stories in supply chain management
(SCM) is that of Wal Mart Stores, Inc., which reported total sales of $191.329 billion and a net income
of $6.295 billion during the fiscal year ended January 31, 2001 (see www.walmartstores.com). These
figures represent a 15.9% growth in total sales and a 17.1% increase in net income over the

Under such a system, the vendor subject to bounds previously agreed upon with the retailer decides on
the appropriate levels of inventory to carry at the retail stores, as well as the corresponding inventory
policies to maintain such levels. In the P G and Wal Mart partnership, P G committed to the
development of a dedicated team to handle the Wal Mart account. A primary objective of this team is
to facilitate information sharing between the two firms and address logistics, supply, management
information systems, accounting, finance, and other issues (Handfield and Nichols, 1999). Under this
arrangement, Wal Mart shares point of sale information from retail outlets directly with P G, giving
the latter easy access to information on consumer transactions and buying patterns. P G s dedicated
Wal Mart account team effectively takes responsibility for the marketing and sales of P G products
within Wal Mart stores. Similar VMI partnerships with other giant retailers have been established by P
G. These partnerships have dramatically improved P G s on time deliveries to Wal Mart and the other
retailers while increasing inventory turnovers (Simchi Levi, et al, 2000; Handfield and Nichols, 1999).
At the same time, they save the retailer a significant amount of managerial and other resources, and

Incivilities In Neighborhood
Neighborhood disorder, broadly defined as the social and physical incivilities within a neighborhood
(Sampson Raudenbush, 1999), affects residents perceptions of fear and safety (Austin, Furr Spine,
2002; Yavuz Welch, 2010). Social incivilities could include drunk people in public space or
panhandlers while physical incivilities include litter or deliberate property damage. Wilson s and
Kelling s broken windows theory (1982) provides social sciences with the most well known model of
neighborhood disorder, which posits that the presence of physical and social incivilities lead to greater
fear among neighborhood residents. Consequently, a cycle of perpetual social breakdown within the
neighborhood occurs.

perceptions of safety may revolve around community violence, such as robberies/muggings, gang
fights, or fights with weapons, and less around sexual

  • 2. Essay about The Cause of Hatred and Distrust in the Middle... The Cause of Hatred and Distrust in the Middle East The war in Iraq is further poisoning the already noxious political atmosphere between Arabs and Americans. It has intensified and increased dangerous feelings of humiliation and outrage among the Arab public, while paranoid rhetoric about Western attacks against Islam elsewhere is spreading from the religious fringe to the mainstream. It is simplistic and self serving for political leaders in the West to tell us that the terrorists attacks happen because they hate freedom, or hate our democratic values or they despise our love of liberty. Many, in fact, hate what they perceive as materialistic Western values, but this is not what leads them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that about 20% of the world s population is Muslim, 18% Christian, and 2.1% Jewish. Of the 13 million Jews in the world, about 5.8 million live in the United States and about 4.8 million live in Israel. This boils down to the fact that about 80% of the population in Israel is Jewish and about 20% (or 1.1 million) is Arab Muslims. The population in the West Bank (a dry, land locked area of about 5,860 square miles right smack in the middle of Israel) is about two million, of which Palestinian Arabs comprise 83% (1.7 million) and Jews comprise about 17% (340,000). The predominant religions in the West Bank are thus about 75% Muslim and 17% Jewish (with the balance being mostly Christians). Basically there are about two million Arab Muslims surrounded by about 4.8 million Jews. The Arabs and the Jews hate each other and have been fighting since the United Nations had the brilliant idea of partitioning the country in this insane manner in 1947 (CIA par.3). Also, U.S. aid to Israel has played a major role in tension between Arabs and America and between Arabs and Israel. On Ted Koppel s (NIGHTLINE), Henry Sigman said: The U.S. is seen as a sort of an insensitive hegemony, with arrogance that seeks to impose its own values on the rest of the world. • 3. The West Wing Gender Roles The television political series The West Wing was an enormously popular program during its original airing from 1999 2006. The show is highly rated amongst fans and critics alike and is still watched today on outlets like DVDs and Netflix. The West Wing depicted American politics during the fictional Presidency of Josiah Bartlet. The show was quick witted, dramatic, comical, and revolutionary. It gave viewers an in depth view of the White House and the day to day lives of the men and women who run the American government on a day to day basis. The West Wing had large numbers of female characters throughout the series, but a few characters were shown far more frequently and prominently. The show had female characters that were strong, dedicated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is in the fifth season (the show has seven seasons in total) and Donna has made it clear to Josh and other West Wing staff that she wants to start taking on more responsibility beyond just being Josh s assistant. She is sent off to the Gaza Strip along with other White House officials to be a part of the discussion of the issues between the rivaling Israelis and Palestinians. This is one of the very few episodes that focus on Donna that are not directly about her relationship with Josh, so, as expected, the writers felt it necessary to write a romantic/sexual storyline to go along with Donna s trip. The episode begins with showing Donna involved in a car explosion and her fate is unknown until the end of the episode. The majority of the episode is a flashback to the day s previous events. During Donna s time in Gaza, she meets a handsome photojournalist who shows her around and spends the day with her, the day culminating in them having sex. The following episodes where Donna recovers from the car explosion in the hospital, she is visited by both Josh and the photojournalist in the hospital, highlighting Josh s true feelings for Donna. Donna never truly gets an opportunity to enjoy her time spent doing additional work because she is immediately injured. Her storyline focuses primarily on her romance with Josh and the photojournalist rather than anything having to do with Donna s career advances. The photojournalist disappears a few episodes after the Gaza episode and is never brought up again, all hinting that Josh and Donna are destined to be together in the end. Donna would not move up in her career until the end of the series when her and Josh finally get together and stay together. Donna s character exists only because Josh s does, she is never given enough of her own storyline by the show s writers to make her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Non Fiction Setting There are several aspects that, while not necessarily essential, are very important in creating a story. Note that this only applicable to works of fiction, non fiction is of course based on facts. For a story to be worth reading there should be a main character or characters, a conflict, feeling, a plot, and a setting. Even if this work is a parody of another, the new work should contain the same or similar basic aspects as the original. The first two elements of writing that can and should be gone through before even writing are the characters and the setting. Most of the time these two will be similar, a cowboy near the Colorado River, the galactic rangers on the Armēnè asteroid belt, or the seven knights of Hrathgàr at the gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The actions and dialogue of the characters should have a purpose that the reader can look deeper into. The description of people, places, and things should also be a well practiced skill. The main goal should be to leave a lasting impression on the reader. As an example The brave hero stood strong against his terror including foe, the man he once saw as a brother, the mighty dark mage Zerross. Their battle was equally matched, though the mage was pushed farther and farther back with each swing of the hero s mighty sword the mage was pushed farther back. The had also become injured, several broken ribs, a large burn across his war torn chest, and millions of cuts and bruises adorned his body. Zerross began to gather power from around him, and soon started to glow with an ethereal light. However, the hero stood his ground and readied his blade. With the flick of the wrist the dark mage sent out a beam of pure energy with the power to split the earth in two at the hero. In return, the hero simply stood with his sword at his side, and fell to his knees without anymore energy to fight. The beam hit its mark, directly through the hero s heart. The dark mage stood triumphant as the hero fell and the heavens wept. For clarification, these elements are only guidelines. The final product is the expression of the writer, and rightfully so. These aspects are instead meant to help draw in the reader, to make them see the story in their mind as if they were watching a movie. Also, if there is enough of an emotional tie with a character, then that character will be left in the minds of the readers for months or even years. The one aspect of a great novel is its ability to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both countries are self defined theological states (Israel as a Jewish state, Iran as an Islamic state). Although the impact of religion changes across time and context, religion has largely defined political identity for both Israel and Iran. Yet, modern states are host to many paradoxes. Religion is important in defining these states, however the workings of each country are not always religious in practice. The State of Israel was founded in 1948 as a Jewish state. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The issues of marriage and military service exemplify how religion has and continues to affect Israeli political history. Yet like many modern states Israel exhibits many paradoxes. By definition Israel has succeeded in establishing itself as a Jewish state. Judaism has also permeated throughout aspects of culture and politics. However in practice, a large percentage of Israeli citizens are not religiously observant. According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2009, 42% of Jewish Israelis identified as secular. That is in comparison to 8% ultra Orthodox, 12% religious and 13% religiously observant (Shtull Trauring, 2010). While a significant portion of Israeli citizens view Judaism as being important to their lives, the 42% of Israelis that identified as being secular indicates that although in definition Israel is a Jewish state, in practice religion is not important for many Israelis. The other self defined theological Middle Eastern state is the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since 1979, religion has played a major role in Iranian political history. When the revolution succeeded in 1979, despite it being a combined effort between religious and secular democratic factions, it was widely recognized that Shia Islam had been necessary to the success of the revolution (Majd, 6). • 13. The Great Leadership Of The Shah FEW US PRESIDENTS got it as wrong as Jimmy Carter, when, on New Year s Eve 1977, during a state visit to Iran he confidently opined: Iran, because of the great leadership of the Shah, is an island of stability in one of the more troubled areas of the world. The President spoke way too soon. A week later, the Shah s police shot down dozens of theology students in the holy city of Qom as they demonstrated against a scurrilous attack on the prominent Muslim cleric Ayatollah Khomeini in a pro government newspaper. The incident triggered off a year of growing protest that climaxed in a full blown revolution. The Shah s government collapsed. He was forced out of Iran and into exile. US relations with the new regime began to deteriorate speedily. The catalyst was the events that took place on 4 November, when, angered by the US government s decision to allow the exiled Shah into the US for cancer treatment, a mob of young Iranians, mostly radical university students and supporters of Ayatollah Khomeini, laid siege to the US Embassy in Tehran. They surged over the wall around the Embassy compound and broke into its buildings. Most of the embassy personnel in the compound were taken hostage. Their ordeal was to last for the next 14 months. • 15. How Did Rome Influence Greek Culture Ancient Greek history has played a vital role in cultures throughout time. From its neighbors in Europe to all the way across the Atlantic, ancient Greece has influenced many nations. From United States to Canada to Mexico, the influence of Greece can still be seen today. While the influence of ancient Greece is grand, there was one place that was so enamored by the Greek way of life, that they seemingly adopted it as its own. The culture of ancient Rome so closely mirrors that of ancient Greek society that it is not uncommon to mix the two up. Since the Roman Empire did not flourish until after the Greek downfall, it is known that the Romans were directly influenced by the Greeks. Assimilation Of Greek cultural traditions created a bizarre situation, in which Rome was culturally Greek, but it was culturally unique, as it still retained influences from early Italians. While it is obvious that the Romans were influenced by the Greeks, one may wonder when this cultural assimilation of Greek culture began. This susceptibility was identified as: cultural sensitivity which was destined to help employees within life and work environments to treat each other courteously, with respect and dignity (Freire Korn, 2011). • 18. Advantages Of Online Education Vs Traditional Liberal Arts... Research Paper One of the main goals in life is to find a great career and start a family. Well in order to be eligible for a career one need to go to college and get a degree. When it comes to college students have to option to take classes online and in class. This research paper is to compare the disadvantages and advantages of online education vs traditional liberal arts education through case studies. The first case study that I found was on done at Delgabon Community College by Ph.D. Jennifer R. Lang. Lang brings forth man problems. The problems that Lang discussed were lack of classroom availability, lack of class room space and extra help foe student that takes classes on line. It was shown that the school didn t have enough space to have extra classes added in a day. With that being the case students were limited to times and classes they could take per semester. The other issues was lack of class room space. This issue caused students to have to register early for a class and if they didn t register early enough they had to take an online class or wait to the next semester to take that particular class. This is a problem toward online classes because it causes the online class to be more of an alternative for students rather than a choice. This is why students that take online class rooms need to have extra help because they wanted a face to face learning experience but instead were forced to take a class online. When it comes to online classes most students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Bossa Nova As Christopher Small, it is true that there is no culture ever disappears but it is transformed over and over again through the new one (Small, On cultures and their fusion 1998). Bossa nova, means „new trend‟, is a kind of Brazilian music that is transformed by two fusion; samba and strong American jazz influenced (Wikipedia). It was known in 1957 and 1963 especially among young students and musicians who would like to bring a complicated combination of melody to be harmony and be more relaxing rather than using powerful voice and strong meaning. Sylvia Plath was diagnosed with depression, but recovered when she first attempted suicide in college. In her marriage to Ted Hughes she fell back into depression, which led her to attempt suicide and again this time she died .During the twentieth century, women in American culture were treated as objects without a voice, and male dominance suppressed them. Plath uses allusion, symbolism and metaphors throughout her poems Tulips and Cut to demonstrate the theme of women in American culture. Plath uses allusions throughout her poems Tulips and Cut to display women s culture in America. In Tulips she uses the biblical allusion of Shutting their mouths on it, like Communion tablet to illustrate how the dead and herself come close to pure tranquility by staying utterly still as a rock (line 35). The biblical allusion demonstrates women s culture in the United States by women accepting the opportunity for tranquility, to flee from their social duties as mother and wife. In the last stanza of Tulips Plath says, The tulips should be behind bars like dangerous animals; /They are opening like a mouth of some great African cat allocates how her social restrains are eating her like a African cat (lines 58 59). Therefore, women could decide when to have a child. They could postpone having children and enter the workforce instead. Also around this time, many women s movements help change the cultural norms and made it easier for women to be seen in the workforce (Croteau Hoynes, 2013). However, in the last 40 to 50 years, women have been gradually working into those male jobs. They are still not making the same as men. In fact Wall indicated women are making only 76.5% of men s [wages] a gender wage gap of 23.5 cents for every dollar earned by the median man (Kennedy, Nagata, Mushenski, Johnson, 2008). • 34. The Importance Of Workplace Conflict Conflict is a natural part of human existence. It occurs in just about any environment and the workplace is no exception. Conflicts arise when there is a difference of opinion between two or more persons (Cohen, 2014). Workplace conflicts can be difficult to resolve, however, unresolved conflicts can result in poor interpersonal relationships, compromise employee loyalty, and even jeopardize quality and safety (Bowers Ferron, 2014). While unresolved conflicts may have deleterious effects on the work environment, healthy conflict resolution can lead to creativity and growth (Bowers Ferron, 2014). One of the main sources of conflict between employees, supervisors, and the human resource (HR) department is poor communication. Nurses can experience conflict with other nurses due perceptions of favoritism, poor team work, and unfair work assignments as can employees in any field of work. According to Cohen (2014), a common misconception among nurse managers is that nurses can resolve conflicts on their own with little or no guidance. However, Cohen argues that most nurses have little or no formal training in conflict resolution and that they often cope with conflict in the workplace much like they do in their personal lives (2014). As a result, less than ideal conflict resolution approaches such as avoidance behaviors and unprofessional body language or verbal responses are used which serve only to further exacerbate problems (Cohen, 2014).
