Difference Between The Judicial Branch And The Executive...
¨Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom¨
James Madison once stated in Federalist 51 If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If
angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.
In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this:
you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control
itself. Madison was asserting that humans are flawed and that separation of powers was designed to
divide up the power and the responsibilities. Each branch would be able to check on the other one.
There are three branches the Judicial Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Executive Branch. Each
of them have their own duties to fulfill and separation of powers prohibits one branch from exercising
the functions of the other ones. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main body of the Judicial Branch is the Supreme Court, it is the highest court in the United States.
It is very important and powerful because it can override the other branches. The head of the branch is
the the Chief Judge of the Supreme Court. In the Judicial Branch there are three separate levels of
court The District Courts, The Court of Appeals, and The Supreme Court. The Supreme Court was
made by the Constitution. Therefore, the Judicial Court plays a vital role in America.
The Legislative Branch is a fundamental aspect of the US because it is where laws are made and
eventually either passed or vetoed. The Senate and the House of Representatives is part of the
Legislative Branch. Laws are debated upon and voted on in Congress. The Constitution provides the
Legislative Branch with the power of declaring war. Henceforth, the Legislative Branch has a large
effect on the United

Sherlock Bound
A key element from the original Sherlock Holmes within Sherlock Hound (TV Asahi, 1984 1985) is
what Sherlock Holmes is wearing. Jensen (2014) illustrates the visual representation of Holmes, The
deerstalker, the magnifying glass, and the curved pipe are signs and trademarks which make the
character of Sherlock Holmes recognizable for audiences around the world (Jensen, 2014, p3). The
character Sherlock Hounds is seen wearing both the deerstalker in addition having the smoking a pipe.
By having the producers chose the visual element in order to appeal to a particular target audience by
that what Sherlock is wearing is recognizable for all ages around the world, so the producers don t
need to go into detail about who this character is. This has been done through what Sherlock Hound is

as an anthropomorphized dog wearing a deerstalker and Inverness cape and with a calabash between

Summary Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights
For centuries, humans have analyzed the negative aspects of their own nature that leads them to falling
victim to overindulgence, producing myriads of written pieces and artwork to depict the creator s
portrayal and interpretation. Various forms of abundance, control, and power are vices that humans are
drawn to, utilizing them with greed and selfish intent in their hearts. Hieronymus Bosch, a
Renaissance era painter from the Netherlands and most popular for his invention of Early
Netherlandish style paint, depicts his take on human s overindulgence of the vices through a world
famous piece titled The Garden of Earthly Delights . Created as a triptych, a three part painting
divided into three separate panels, The Garden tells the story of humanity s empire, from the pure
creation of man, to the corrupted result of man s overindulgence in the vices. Bosch s heavily
references a biblical story, particularly of Adam and Eve, in this piece, a trait common in Early
Netherlandish paintings. This painting style makes reference to biblical works as well as heavily
emphasizes the use of shadows and light, allowing for the natural aspects of the landscape, animals,
and humans within it to appear more life like. With the painting s richness in color, detail in linework,
and overall composition of the characters within it, Bosch s The Garden of Earthly Delights evokes a
deeper meaning to the formation and destruction of mankind s empire through mankind s tendency
towards corruption

Essay about Sports Ethics
Vince Lombardi, most likely the best coach to ever lead a team to victory or multiple ones on a
football field. His ethics sometimes questionable, but never misunderstood, were always meant to lead
and encourage his team to be nothing but the best, and the best was achieved in 1967. After nine
incredible winning seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Lombardi decided to retire as head coach.
The Packers had dominated professional football under his direction, collecting six division titles, five
NFL championships, two Super Bowls and acquiring a record of 98 30 4. After less than a year,
however, he realized that he still wanted to coach. He accepted the head coaching position for the
Washington Redskins in 1969. During that season, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certain Countries, such as China and East Germany have been guilty of abusing such practices. The
glory of winning a gold medal and what follows is more important to them than anything else. It is
one of the major influences behind drug use in sports. A major concern for new athletes representing
their countries is not simply about the satisfaction of winning but the rewards of success. The rewards
are staggering, as the dollar volume being showered on winners is second to none. The figures have
become so mind boggling that the interests of people involved in this lucrative business is no longer
centred around ethical and health related concerns.
Some athletes are willing to give up most of what they have worked for their entire lives in order to
win a gold medal. Not only do some use performance enhancing drugs to help break records or win
gold medals, but blood doping is another example in which athletes attempt to improve performance.
Drug related scandals are some of the major concerns with the Olympics. Drug testing was introduced
at the Olympics in 1967, when at the 1960 Olympics in Rome, Swedish cyclist Knut Jensen took
compound drugs to compete in the road race during which he collapsed and died. This incident
shocked the international sports world and the International Olympic Committee established a
mandatory dope test for all Olympic

Descriptive Essay On The Ocean Of Death
Ocean of Death
The morning started with my mom and me loading up the car to go for a trip to the famous Florida
getaway destination, Panama City Beach. By looking at my mom s face I could tell she was ready to
get the drive over with. Anyone who knows my mom knows she hates driving, so the fact that she had
a 13 yr. old who was about to go to a beach in the U.S.A for the first time, only made it worse. An
hour into the ride my excitement wore off and I fell asleep. I got woken up by what sounded like a
nuclear bomb. The clear blue sky that I left before my nap, now looked like ink spilled from a bottle.
It was as in we were at war with the weather, and their weapons were nuclear bombs and bullets of
rain. (No, this isn t the part where I almost die.) Since we had to drive slower than a tortoise due to the
war, it took us an extra 3 hours to get there. When we finally got to the hotel, we agreed to get some
rest, to get ready for the next day. I woke up the next morning and looked outside, to my surprise the
sky was as clear as day; it gave me some hope that this vacation was still going to be amazing. As fast
as lightning, I showered, got dressed, and waited for my mom to wake up. An hour of waiting and
watching her felt like 100 years. When she finally woke up, we made our way down to the beach.
When we finally got there, I took my sandals on and put my feet in the sand. It felt very hot, but at the
same time, it was as soft as a pillow. Once my feet started to burn I dashed to the shore, where I found
sharp shells in the sand poking my feet, but at least the sand wasn t hot anymore. My mom was busy
trying to have a conversation with the cute lifeguard. I went and played volleyball with some kids my
age instead. Time went by so fast before I knew it, it was 3 pm. I walked over to my mom to get some
rest and relax. She had given up on the lifeguard and was now sitting in a chair close to the ocean,
having a conversation with a couple in their mid forties. This wasn t horrifying to watch, it was just
boring. I jumped up and asked her if she wanted to go jump the waves with me. I loved pools, so how
different could the ocean be. While we were walking in I saw a red flag go up nearby. I chose to

Martha Stewart Insider Trading Case
ETH 501
Module 1
Case Assignment
The Martha Stewart insider trading case was a high profile case filled with uncertainty. In order to say
whether or not Stewart handled her indictment responsibly, it is necessary to start with an assumption
regarding her guilt or innocence. For the purposes of this paper, based on the information I have read
about the case, and based on the fact that she was found guilty of all counts (although not all
specifications) in her stock conspiracy trial (with the exception of the security fraud charge which was
thrown out), I will assume that she is guilty. (courttv.com) Based on that assumption, there are several
reasons that Martha Stewart did not handle her indictment responsibly which can be ... Show more

The prosecution attempted to prove that the ink used to make that annotation was not the same at the
ink used on other parts of the paper. The prosecution s witness in this portion of the case was a Secret
Service agent who was later charged with perjury for repeatedly lying on the stand (courttv.com).
Also, in later questioning the witness admitted that it was impossible to determine how many different
blue pens were used on the worksheet. At any rate, the prearranged price as set by Stewart might have
seemed a little too convenient to some. The question here continues to deal with duty and the greater
good. If Stewart and Bacanovic did not have this prior arrangement set up, then it was Bacanovic s
duty to Merrill Lynch and to the investors to uphold the responsibilities of his position. Again, this
situation deals with the greater good of the investors as a whole, not just Martha Stewart as an
individual, and therein lies the purpose behind the rules in place. Aside from lying about her decisions,
Stewart also attempted to hamper the investigation by providing false information. Stewart attempted
to alter the contents of the phone message from Bacanovic s 27 December 2001 phone call. This is a
fact that was verified by Stewart s assistant. Altering evidence is generally reserved for the purpose of
making a situation look better than it is. The fact that Stewart attempted to change

Title: ?Why Personal Development Helps Business Development?
When entrepreneurs and business leaders think about how they can better improve their businesses or
develop their small, start up companies into successful corporate giants, personal development is one
strategy that often doesn?t come to mind. However, personal development is actually the most
important thing entrepreneurs and business leaders can do for their business development skills and
strategy. One?s personal development is highly critical to the success of their business development,
and here s why.
Previously, people went to work everyday just to work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether big or small, regardless of their type of field, industry, or desired market, businesses
everywhere are now beginning to realize that by empowering their staff, and instilling drive, passion,
motivation, and other essential personal values into them, oftentimes by being a shining example of
those values yourself as their business leader, you can guide your staff towards bringing about better
results for your business, making more progress for your business, and altogether developing your
business into a more successful model.
Now more than ever, personal development is key to helping business development in today?s highly
competitive and digitalized corporate landscape. Previously, around fifty or so years ago, the corporate
landscape was much less competitive?and much less empowering. When an entrepreneur or a business
leader wanted to see an increase in results for their company, they simply hired more workers to a
single shift to add more units and up productivity, which would then hopefully get the number of
results the entrepreneur or business leader was looking for. When a worker was slowing down the
whole team?s productivity or progress, or not doing enough to meet the company?s goals set by the
entrepreneur and business leader, then all the entrepreneur or business leader would do typically
would be to bring them into their office and tell them to do a better job and work harder or find
another way of paying the bills

Consumer Spending Essay example
Consumer Spending
ECO 2301
Principles of Macroeconomics
Anthony Le
November 30th, 2011
Consumer Spending Consumer spending is defined as the goods and services bought by the
households in the satisfaction of their wants and needs. (BusinessDictionary.com). It is also known as
personal consumption expenditure and is the largest part of aggregate demand or effective demand at
the macroeconomic level. Why is consumer spending important in the U.S. economy? In fact,
consumer spending is the single biggest determinant of the U.S. economy s health, accounting for
about two thirds of the United States annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP). A decline in consumer
spending could spoil the U.S. economy or certain market sectors. By ... Show more content on

This leaves less money to pay for discretionary purchases that help fuel economic growth. It is
estimated that every $1 increase in the price of gasoline translates into an additional cost of $1,000 a
year for most drivers. As a result, low income households began to feel pressures from higher energy
bills, which already affected negatively discounted retailers. Long term, the pain at the pump could
become more widespread. A survey released in April by the Financial Services Forum, an association
of the CEOs of 20 large U.S. financial institutions, reported its members view escalating energy prices
as the biggest threat to U.S. economic growth, ahead of rising health care costs and terrorism. The rise
in gasoline also caused the fall in auto sales. Cars and light trucks were sold at an average 11.41
annual rate in June, the slowest in a year. (Chandra)
Besides household incomes, high fuel cost and energy prices, interest rate is another key factor that
determines consumer spending in the economy. Interest rate hikes have already reduced demand for
mortgage refinancing and home equity loans, two significant sources of cash that increased consumer
spending in recent years. As interest rate rose, consumers most likely found it less desirable and less
reasonable to borrow against the equity in their homes. As a result, they tend to put off buying luxury
goods for their home, such as TVs, entertainment systems, or other goods. With the above aspects, we
as consumers are

Differences Between Countries And Developing Countries
Geographers like to differentiate countries by grouping them into developed and developing countries.
A developed country is a country that has progressed relatively far during time and has a highly
developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure. Some examples of developed
countries are the U.S.A, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands and many others. They are
normally the more profound countries that we hear about more often than developing countries. A
developing country is a country that is at an early stage in economic development and has a less
developed industrial base, and a low Human Development Index (HDI). The Human Development
Index is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators and is
used to rank countries into tiers of human development. Having a low HDI means the country has a
low life expectancy, a shorter length of education and the income per capita is lower. Some examples
of developing countries are Brazil, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, India, Afghanistan, and many
others. I plan to bring you into an in depth explanation about the many differences in population
studies between Japan and Brazil. First off, we ll start with a little bit of background information on
both countries. Japan is an archipelago of 6,852 islands in East Asia with a population of 126,919,659

Socrates Real Person
Was Socrates Really a Real Person?
(A discussion of how Socrates was influential and intriguing using Plato s Republic) To learn about
the past, people in today s society often consult the internet or history books. To an extent, all we
know about the past is from what we have read or heard, so what is actually truth, and what is just a
captivating story. Scholars believe that some people from history are just made up to portray ideals or
tell a story with an important message. Socrates was a real man, but some scholars believe that some
of Socrates beliefs are truly just Plato, his student, writing things and saying that Socrates believed in
them. The world today has virtually no idea whether Socrates believed everything that is recorded in
Plato s Republic. Socrates, as portrayed in Plato s Republic, is extremely intriguing because of the
way he communicates with people with his sarcasm and use of his Socratic method to teach. In Plato s
Republic, Socrates is portrayed as a man who answers everything in a way that avoids actually
answering any questions. Socrates wants the people he is talking with to think for themselves so he
never gives a definitive answer when asked a question. Instead of talking clearly, Socrates talks with
thick sarcasm. Holding a conversation with someone is a sort of game to Socrates, so almost
everything he says is shrouded with sarcasm and double meanings. Why does Socrates play with
people s minds with sarcasm and intrigue? Socrates was

East Of Eden Essay
When thinking about the gift offering in the biblical story of Cain and Abel and its impact, one can see
many similarities in East of Eden. Cain brought to God the fruit of the ground and Abel offered God
the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof (Gen 4 KJV). God preferred the gift of Abel to the gift
of Cain. In the first generation of the Trasks, Adam and Charles both give presents to their father
Cyrus for his birthday. Although it is clear that Cyrus is no God like figure, in this story he still has the
same role as God. He is the one, to whom the children offer their gifts and he shows preference of one
over the other. David McCright generalizes this in claiming that, God, though for Steinbeck only

It is then, when Caleb plans to give Adam 15,000 dollars that he made by investing in bean business.
Caleb hopes that this money will make up for a great loss of money that Adam suffered when a plan to

the pattern of God rejecting or rather neglecting Cain s gift as Cyrus ignoring Charles knife. On the
other hand, it seems that Aron does not give their father any apparent gift, although many scholars, for
instance David McCright argues that Aron s gift is a subtle one. He simply returns home from college
for Thanksgiving and he is warmly received (McCright 24). This time, Steinbeck let the readers know
the most information about the gift that Caleb plans to give Adam. In the first offering, we only knew
about it thanks to Charles and his memories of it, but this is different, the readers can actually see how
much thought Caleb gave to it. He talks about making the money with Samuel s son, Will Hamilton,
who is also very clever and business oriented man. Will asks him why he wants to make that money
and give it to his father and he directly asks him if he wants to buy Adam s love, to which Caleb
replies that yes, he wants (East of Eden

This ability to adapt to current conditions, both politically and militarily, is absolutely necessary for
any force to be able to claim victory. Again, we turn to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah as a
good case study. As suggested by Cordesman, Hezbollah benefits from the quality of Iranian training

Analysis Of The Article Geeks On The World s Biggest...
After reading the article Geeks in Toyland by Brendan Koerner, I realized the importance of
organizational culture to connect the customers to the company. This article talks about the corporate
culture and leadership style of Soren Lund (Mindstorms product director). He was asked to come up
with a new version which is not a slightly improved model, but to create something completely
different. Each company has their own corporate culture. During my research, I came across a similar
article that talks about the corporate culture and leadership style of America s most successful
company, Apple Inc. The Fortune magazine article How Apple Works: Inside the World s biggest
startup by Adam Lashinsky explains how big company such as Apple Inc. really operates. By the time
he s finished, you ll probably still want to buy Apple products, but you may not want to work for the
firm. Apple s products have always been created by small teams working closely together, with no
outside intervention (apart from the management s directions). This was the case when it was first
founded in 1976 with only three people, and is true today with almost 25,000 people employed. In
Apple s early existence, these teams consisted of talented people hand picked by the senior
management (particularly Steve Jobs). Apple s organizational structure is relevant to the research
article Geeks in Toyland as it demonstrates Steve Jobs role at Apple, and the importance of various
departments (which

Willa Cather s The Hundred Dres
This book is an easy read for younger readers. It is bright and colorful which draws the attention of
children. The illustrations are vibrant and well done. This book won the Batchelder award for its job
well done in children s literature. This story is relatable for anyone with siblings that has had any sort
of sibling rivalry. This is a light, kind hearted rivalry, however, it still describes the competition
between the two sisters as many of us have experienced. This was an interesting early World War II
book for younger readers. I found this story to be a quick, engaging read based on the true story of a
bear soldier in a Polish contingent during World War II. This book was awarded the Bachelder award
in 2012. This story is a good way to introduce students to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This book includes poems that involve puns, jokes, and wordplay. Some of the poems are about
people, some are about animals, which I love. This book is a great collection of fun poems for kids.
This book is another great introduction to poetry for many students. The use of silly poetry is a great
way for kids to connect to poetry. This book is heartbreaking. The Hundred Dresses is a short, book
about a girl who tells some other girls in her class that she has 100 beautiful dresses at home, all lined
up in her closet, even though she wears the same, faded blue dress to school every day. I thought this
book had a good message, although it was very sad. This book is just as relevant today as it was 72
years ago. Shaming is just as bad as bullying, maybe worse. This story will make your heart ache,
because when we were in school we were Wanda , or we knew a Wanda . I ached for Luba, and the
wren too, and even a bit for Luba s foolish and greedy parents. The illustrations perfectly match the
progression of the story. I know this is supposed to be a happy tale, but I feel more than a tinge of
sadness at its

Bonding social capital refers to the relation among homogenous group of individuals such as close

Prop 227 Points of Contention Essay
What are the main points of contention surrounding this issue? Be sure to thoroughly discuss
contrasting perspectives and the underlying reasons explaining the different positions people take on
this topic.
The main arguments surrounding Prop 227, is whether or not bilingual programs should be in schools
in California. Some argue that having bilingual programs doesn t help the student to learn English, it
just reinforces their native language. Also it has be said that test scores supposedly did not improve in
the bilingual programs. On the other hand though, people are arguing that the English Immersion
programs do not work because for smaller children they must learn how to read and write in their
native language to be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with both bilingual education and English as a second language instruction in the United
States lies in our unwillingness to treat English for non speakers as an academic subject (Haas, 2007).
While the bilingual programs in California are thought to be mostly for people who speak Spanish,
there are also Asian students that need to be taught proper English before continuing their education.
As one anonymous teacher points out: I have had 32 different languages spoken in my classroom over
a 25 year period. Eighty four languages are spoken in our district. (Anon 1998 Haas 2007). Which for
most teachers mean that it is both educationally and economically impossible to teach every student in
their own native language.
In contrast, the people against Prop 227, state that the Prop creates too much chaos and does not
support every learner. Adaptations and modifications are not allowed for non native English speakers
(i.e. all public school instruction will be conducted in English) (Linton, 2007). The change from
bilingual education to English Immersion was of great confusion for both students and parents, due to
the sudden change in consistency between districts, school, and teachers. Prop 227 threatened teachers
and administration with legal penalties if they tried to teach or a help a student in a foreign language.
Some that are opposed to Prop 227,

Uncritical Thinker
There are three types of thinkers, Uncritical Persons, skilled manipulators and the fair minded critical
persons. The uncritical persons are the ones that the media thrives on. They are the ones that are easily
influenced in believing what they hear on the news to be true without doing their own research on
what they heard. It is simply true because they read it in the newspaper or saw it on the news. These
individuals want to be presented with a simple minded, black and white world (page 299). A person
that I can relate to as an uncritical thinker would be boyfriend s mother. She is a difficult person to
reason with. She believes in what she hears to be true without actually knowing the facts. She does not
search for the truth or care too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These people are focused shrewdly on pursuing their own interest without respect to how that pursuit
affects others (page 299). Although skilled manipulators share many characteristics of an uncritical
thinker, they have qualities that separate them from the uncritical persons (page 300). They are good at
using their power of manipulation to get what they want from people. Skilled manipulators use their
skill to take advantage of others and use it to their benefit. My boss is an example of a skilled
manipulator. He is constantly controlling and influencing others for his own interests. He knows how
to get what he wants no matter the consequences it plays on others. For example, he will tell employee
s things they want to hear in order to get them to work longer hours, yet he never follows through with
those promises. He actually convinced a guy one night that missing his daughter s softball tournament
would benefit him in the long run within the company and so he missed it all because he believed it

When Dickens writes iron bars it makes me imagine of a cell with many great and rustily iron bars.
Therefore this shows the reader that Miss Havisham has retreated from the world and rots in her

Differences Between Western Hills And O Health Maintenance...
Differences:
Western Hills: o Health maintenance is typically focused on podiatry at the clinic. The podiatrists at
Western Hills have recommendations for patients regarding foot care and the main recommendation
emphasized was that the patients should not wear flip flops. This prevents unnecessary foot problems
and can be prevented by wearing supportive shoes. They also emphasized the importance of well
fitting shoes. o Many patient s will only discuss their foot care needs, however, the nurse in this
setting should be aware of other important health topics to help prevent illness. Since the patient feels
like they are unable to ask other questions regarding health issues, this often prevents a teachable
moment from occurring to help prevent future problems. For example, if the patient states that they
have diabetes but are unaware that diabetic patients take a longer time to heal and may acquire
infections easier because of this, the nurse would be able to provide the diabetic patient with ways to
prevent sores on the feet. However, since the patient may not correlate diabetes to the feet, this
moment of health maintenance teaching may not occur.
Hospital: o Information is always being provided to patients at the hospital to prevent illness and
prevent current health problems from progressing. For example, if a patient comes to the hospital for a
COPD exacerbation and the nurse becomes aware that the patient smokes a pack of cigarettes a day,
the nurse will provide

Scientific Method Lab Report
(INTRODUCTION) The scientific method is the procedure used to either ask or answer questions, the
components of the scientific method include: observation; which is watching something that peaks
your interest, then you must develop a hypothesis; this means that an individual has to make an
educated guess for the observation, afterwards an individual must define a question; meaning
answering the who, what, when, where and how, ( Simms). The reason for doing the experiment was

The controlled variables in this particular case were the boats, the amount of water needed, and the
way we weighed the water by starting from zero to not include the boat weight. Another variable that
was considered was the independent variable, this is the one factor that was manipulated during the
experiment, this time it was the instrument that we used to measure the water, the graduated cylinder
and the pipette. The last variable was the dependent variable, or the variable that was changed based
on the changes made in the independent variable, the weight of the water was what changed in this
case because the water levels looked different based on the The meniscus curve seen at the top of a
liquid in response to its container. The meniscus can be either concave or convex, depending on the
surface tension of the liquid and adhesion to the wall of the container, ( Helmenstine). Each instrument
displayed this differently because of the size of the measuring instrument and so the 10 mL mark was

The Paucity of Water and its Effect on Gender Inequality in India
Based on a research survey conducted by the United Nations it reveals that, convenient access to water
and sanitation facilities increase privacy and reduce risk to women and girls of sexual harassment ...
(United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2005). Women living at the beginning
and middle points of the village have to trek for a considerable distance to reach the stream, when
compared to those who live at the bottom of the village near the stream. Women are the primary
stakeholders in the fight for clean water as sources such as many rivers and wells are contaminated as
they bear the burden and lack the freedoms that are necessary to ensure equality not inequality.
Women in India have limited access to resources and the ability to express in the public sphere, which
creates division of bearing the burden of responsibilities in the fight against the shortage of water. In
many rural areas in India, women have to walk a distance of about 2.5 kilometers to reach up to the
source of water. Women reach home carrying heavy pots, not to rest but to do other household chores
of cooking, cleaning, caring of children and looking after livestock, and in the evening fetching water.
Thus, a rural woman s life has become sheer drudgery for lack of water. There are many key causes of

Importance Of Artificial Intelligence
What was once just a figment of the imagination of some of the most famous science fiction writers,
artificial intelligence ( AI) is taking root in our everyday lives ( Science Fiction to Reality 1). Artificial
Intelligence is a machinery which includes network and a probabilistic model. Artificial intelligence is
the computer that can now spontaneously translate spoken and written conversation. It can also

intelligence has specific technologies, like the machine learning methods called neural network, that
can be trained from massive data sets to recognize objects in images or to understand spoken words.

Humans And The Ai Possible Now
Humans and the AI possible now, are truly one and the same What does this mean?. The Human body
is but a foundry sundry? of systems and preconditioned thinking that is lead through cause and effect.
AI is the pinnacle of humanity s attempts at mimicking the creation of life through artificial thinking.
John R. Searle argues that the intentionality in human beings is a product of the brains and its mental
processes. He also notes that the certain brain processes are sufficient (indicating that there is at times
a bare minimum of processes) for the intentionality. He also states that the instantiation of a computer
program can be done by a human but the program would still lack the relevant intentionality. Searle
also states that, any mechanism capable of producing intentionality must have casual powers equal to
those of the brain. One important thing to note in Searle s arguments is that he separates AI into two
distinct categories. Strong AI and weak AI. Strong AI being the advanced computers that are in fact,
minds, and that these computers can actually understand things. Weak AI on the other hand, are the
computers that act as nothing more than tools to be used to study and to serve any purpose we
program it to do. Searle brings up several arguments that he refutes such as the Systems Reply, The
Robot reply, The Brain simulator reply, the combination reply, The other minds reply, and the many

Issue relating to violence abuse against women and children within family
The issue that I am exploring
As increasing number of women are gaining more rights globally as well as their economic power.
However, domestic violence, especially violence against both women and children from associated
partner remaining a broad issue that need to be addressed. Public health studies indicated that a large
number of people have the experience of witnessing varies degree of violence within the family. I
believe that when speaking of family violence, there is a picture that comes out of our mind. It usually

The most extreme case would be murdering. WHO reported that 38% of murdering of women is
conducted by intimate partners. Other than the case above, other significant damages would be
disability, functional disorder, delusional disorder, despondent, etc. The general feelings of victims
would be fear, depression, avoidance, suspicious, and the duration of those emotions would depend on
the degree or means of the violence conduction, the victim s education background, their social status
and numbers of other factors.
Not only women and children, men can be victims as well. But their experiences during violence are
different. Men tend to bury their thoughts deep in the heart; it means they would rather be silent than
speak out. Most likely men are mental victims in violence compared to women. Overall, speaking of
the size, women and children are still the main victim in terms of domestic violence.
Discussion over the issue
To understand the origin of domestic violence, the first thing I think is to identify universal factors
causing violence. According to the research, four major concerns are listed as below: economic living
conditions, traditional gender attitudes towards women, authoritarian parenting, and a general
tolerance of violent behavior in a given society. The research found that in rural area with relatively
low economic condition, women tend to have larger exposure to

Chicago (Addams, 1910, p. 89) (Jane addams and social reform a role model for the 1990s). Although
Jane Adams was mainly known for her work in the Hull House and being the mother of social work ,
she also caused many reforms that affected the entity of the way the United States went about

The Correlation between Crime and Poverty Essay
A violent crime occurs every 23.5 seconds in the United States of America. Even though crime has
been at a low during the past decade, violence is still prevalent in today s society. Most of these crimes
happen in places that are socio economically disadvantaged. There then is the debate of whether
violent crime is associated with environments struck with poverty. There is a correlation between
violent crimes and poverty because of the unemployment rates in major cities, the culture of poor
areas, and drugs.
There are three components that must be looked at before carrying on. They are: poverty, social
inequality, and relative depravation. Poverty is defined according to an economic standard. The
income deemed necessary to meet basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These cities are also among the list of cities with the highest rates of unemployment. Los Angeles: 9.2
%, Chicago: 9.1%, New York: 7.9%, to name a few (Statistics).
Why would anyone follow the right way if you see your parents did so and are still jobless? This is a
problem all over the world evident by demonstrations such as the Occupy movement, the Brazil
protests, the protests in Greece, etc. These protestors are still voters and this causes a divide in a
nation, hence the escalated instability and violence. Another big contributor is that of discrimination.
If the majority of the poor in the US are black and brown, and poverty leads to crime, then most of the
criminals will be black and brown. This is the case wherever the criminals are the poor ones.
It can be argued that the right way is to get an education. Some say education leads to a more civilized
person and in turn the violence is reduced. A free education does not guarantee that a child will go on
to go to college. Some personally do not like the idea of any post secondary schooling. Others can say
that the majority of black and brown criminals suggest problems within the social structures of those
certain ethnic groups. This association with an ethnic group is worse when the word criminal implies a
moral value. The mass incarceration tactics targets the black and brown population of the US and that
is a huge issue.
For many living in these

The Failure Of The Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase, was a purchase made between Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon Bonaparte for
the middle section of the of modern day U.S. This section was originally owned by the French who
sold it to Spain who made an alliance with France and gave it back. France, financially struggling,
with british fleets headed towards the border, decided to sell approximately 530,000,000 acres of land
west of the Mississippi River for $15 million( about 4 cents an acre).
This purchase set the course of the establishment of the United States of America. If this purchase had
not been made America could possibly be only the east coast and the west coast, France could control
those 827,00 square miles to this day, which is larger than France today. They would also be in control
of the trade and prosperity of New Orleans, which in the past was very prosperous and had the
Pinckney Treaty of 1795 in place, resolving friction between Spain and the United States over the
right to navigate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When this failed they tried to make a military alliance with england. Meanwhile the French army in
St. Domingue was being picked off one by one by the yellow fever and was still at war with England.
Defeated Napoleon decided to give up his plans for Louisiana and sold the whole territory to
Livingston and Monroe for 15 million dollars. If the yellow fever had not become introduced to the
soldiers in St. Domingue and the French army had succeeded in defeating the English then Napoleon
would not have given up the territory and many things could ve happened to it. He could have sold it
to the English or to Spain or could have kept it and America would have a large divider between the
east and west coast of the U.S of a completely different country inducing many things such as wars,
treaties, and Lewis and Clark s expedition would have never

The Incan tribes extended from the coastal sections to the highlands and part of Quito. Quito became
the first Spanish settlement in 1534, which was the site of an important Incan town. Four years later
close to the river of Guayas, another Spanish settlement was established, which is now known as
Guayaquil. Francisco Pizarro discovered and took control of Peru, he then founded the settlements of
the highland, basins, and coastal lands, which he extended Spanish rule over. Ecuador was part of the
Viceroyalty of Peru until 1740, then it was reassigned to the Viceroyalty of New Granada including
Venezuela and Columbia. Ecuador lacked gold and silver which did not bring many Europeans settlers
during the Spanish colonial period. A rebellion against the Spanish occurred in 1809. The New
Granada gained their independence between 1819 and 1822, forming a federation known as Gran
Colombia. Ecuador however did not gain its independence as part of the Federation of Gran Columbia
until 1822. Later withdrawing in 1830, causing conflict and struggles. These conflicts caused Ecuador
to lose territories with neighboring countries between 1904 and 1942. The country was mainly a
dictatorship and the army played a kay role in internal decisions. Peru and Ecuador then began to have
conflicts over the border in

The Journey Of A Trip
I took the plunge, stepping out of the known and falling into the unknown that is travel. I had never
left the breezy state of Ohio, but here I was, packed up and getting ready to board a flight to the
beautiful Hatteras Island. Hatteras was far, much farther away than I had ever been from my home. I
slept most of the plane ride in fear that I would be sick in front of everyone. Crammed in between a
large man who decided both armrest were his and a small elderly women who spent the entire flight
flipping through a book of pictures, I let my head lazily hang to one side and drifted off into the
darkness of my sleep. I was awoken by the same large man hacking up what seemed to be his lung,
pancreas, spine, and PhD into my face. I looked across the frail old lady out the window and took in
my current surroundings. Everything hit me at once, the beauty of the earth around me suddenly
became less blurry as I watched out my circular airplane window down at the sandy beaches of
Hatteras. I got off the flight, went into the air conditioned beach house, and unpacked my suitcase.
The white sand of the beaches warmed the soles of my feet as I stepped onto the dune down into the
slack. The glow of the now fading orange sun warmed my face, while the unfamiliar smell of
saltwater tickled my nose. I was on the beach for the first time and I was beyond anxious. My only
previous knowledge of the beach came for movies such as Jaws and Soul Surfer. To my dismay there
was not a cute sheriff

  • 2. Difference Between The Judicial Branch And The Executive... ¨Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom¨ James Madison once stated in Federalist 51 If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. Madison was asserting that humans are flawed and that separation of powers was designed to divide up the power and the responsibilities. Each branch would be able to check on the other one. There are three branches the Judicial Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Executive Branch. Each of them have their own duties to fulfill and separation of powers prohibits one branch from exercising the functions of the other ones. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Summary Of The Garden Of Earthly Delights For centuries, humans have analyzed the negative aspects of their own nature that leads them to falling victim to overindulgence, producing myriads of written pieces and artwork to depict the creator s portrayal and interpretation. Various forms of abundance, control, and power are vices that humans are drawn to, utilizing them with greed and selfish intent in their hearts. Hieronymus Bosch, a Renaissance era painter from the Netherlands and most popular for his invention of Early Netherlandish style paint, depicts his take on human s overindulgence of the vices through a world famous piece titled The Garden of Earthly Delights . Created as a triptych, a three part painting divided into three separate panels, The Garden tells the story of humanity s empire, from the pure creation of man, to the corrupted result of man s overindulgence in the vices. Bosch s heavily references a biblical story, particularly of Adam and Eve, in this piece, a trait common in Early Netherlandish paintings. This painting style makes reference to biblical works as well as heavily emphasizes the use of shadows and light, allowing for the natural aspects of the landscape, animals, and humans within it to appear more life like. With the painting s richness in color, detail in linework, and overall composition of the characters within it, Bosch s The Garden of Earthly Delights evokes a deeper meaning to the formation and destruction of mankind s empire through mankind s tendency towards corruption ... • 8. Descriptive Essay On The Ocean Of Death Ocean of Death The morning started with my mom and me loading up the car to go for a trip to the famous Florida getaway destination, Panama City Beach. By looking at my mom s face I could tell she was ready to get the drive over with. Anyone who knows my mom knows she hates driving, so the fact that she had a 13 yr. old who was about to go to a beach in the U.S.A for the first time, only made it worse. An hour into the ride my excitement wore off and I fell asleep. I got woken up by what sounded like a nuclear bomb. The clear blue sky that I left before my nap, now looked like ink spilled from a bottle. It was as in we were at war with the weather, and their weapons were nuclear bombs and bullets of rain. (No, this isn t the part where I almost die.) Since we had to drive slower than a tortoise due to the war, it took us an extra 3 hours to get there. When we finally got to the hotel, we agreed to get some rest, to get ready for the next day. I woke up the next morning and looked outside, to my surprise the sky was as clear as day; it gave me some hope that this vacation was still going to be amazing. As fast as lightning, I showered, got dressed, and waited for my mom to wake up. An hour of waiting and watching her felt like 100 years. When she finally woke up, we made our way down to the beach. When we finally got there, I took my sandals on and put my feet in the sand. It felt very hot, but at the same time, it was as soft as a pillow. Once my feet started to burn I dashed to the shore, where I found sharp shells in the sand poking my feet, but at least the sand wasn t hot anymore. My mom was busy trying to have a conversation with the cute lifeguard. I went and played volleyball with some kids my age instead. Time went by so fast before I knew it, it was 3 pm. I walked over to my mom to get some rest and relax. She had given up on the lifeguard and was now sitting in a chair close to the ocean, having a conversation with a couple in their mid forties. This wasn t horrifying to watch, it was just boring. I jumped up and asked her if she wanted to go jump the waves with me. I loved pools, so how different could the ocean be. Also, in later questioning the witness admitted that it was impossible to determine how many different blue pens were used on the worksheet. If Stewart and Bacanovic did not have this prior arrangement set up, then it was Bacanovic s duty to Merrill Lynch and to the investors to uphold the responsibilities of his position. Again, this situation deals with the greater good of the investors as a whole, not just Martha Stewart as an individual, and therein lies the purpose behind the rules in place. Long term, the pain at the pump could become more widespread. A survey released in April by the Financial Services Forum, an association of the CEOs of 20 large U.S. financial institutions, reported its members view escalating energy prices as the biggest threat to U.S. economic growth, ahead of rising health care costs and terrorism. The rise in gasoline also caused the fall in auto sales. Cars and light trucks were sold at an average 11.41 annual rate in June, the slowest in a year. (Chandra) Besides household incomes, high fuel cost and energy prices, interest rate is another key factor that determines consumer spending in the economy. Interest rate hikes have already reduced demand for mortgage refinancing and home equity loans, two significant sources of cash that increased consumer spending in recent years. As interest rate rose, consumers most likely found it less desirable and less reasonable to borrow against the equity in their homes. A developed country is a country that has progressed relatively far during time and has a highly developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure. Some examples of developed countries are the U.S.A, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Netherlands and many others. Be sure to thoroughly discuss contrasting perspectives and the underlying reasons explaining the different positions people take on this topic. The main arguments surrounding Prop 227, is whether or not bilingual programs should be in schools in California. Some argue that having bilingual programs doesn t help the student to learn English, it just reinforces their native language. Also it has be said that test scores supposedly did not improve in the bilingual programs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem with both bilingual education and English as a second language instruction in the United States lies in our unwillingness to treat English for non speakers as an academic subject (Haas, 2007). While the bilingual programs in California are thought to be mostly for people who speak Spanish, there are also Asian students that need to be taught proper English before continuing their education. As one anonymous teacher points out: I have had 32 different languages spoken in my classroom over a 25 year period. Eighty four languages are spoken in our district. (Anon 1998 Haas 2007). Which for most teachers mean that it is both educationally and economically impossible to teach every student in their own native language. In contrast, the people against Prop 227, state that the Prop creates too much chaos and does not support every learner. Adaptations and modifications are not allowed for non native English speakers (i.e. all public school instruction will be conducted in English) (Linton, 2007). The change from bilingual education to English Immersion was of great confusion for both students and parents, due to the sudden change in consistency between districts, school, and teachers. Prop 227 threatened teachers and administration with legal penalties if they tried to teach or a help a student in a foreign language. Some that are opposed to Prop 227, ... The podiatrists at Western Hills have recommendations for patients regarding foot care and the main recommendation emphasized was that the patients should not wear flip flops. This prevents unnecessary foot problems and can be prevented by wearing supportive shoes. They also emphasized the importance of well fitting shoes. o Many patient s will only discuss their foot care needs, however, the nurse in this setting should be aware of other important health topics to help prevent illness. Since the patient feels like they are unable to ask other questions regarding health issues, this often prevents a teachable moment from occurring to help prevent future problems. For example, if the patient states that they have diabetes but are unaware that diabetic patients take a longer time to heal and may acquire infections easier because of this, the nurse would be able to provide the diabetic patient with ways to prevent sores on the feet. However, since the patient may not correlate diabetes to the feet, this moment of health maintenance teaching may not occur. (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2005). Women living at the beginning and middle points of the village have to trek for a considerable distance to reach the stream, when compared to those who live at the bottom of the village near the stream. Women are the primary stakeholders in the fight for clean water as sources such as many rivers and wells are contaminated as they bear the burden and lack the freedoms that are necessary to ensure equality not inequality. The Human body is but a foundry sundry? of systems and preconditioned thinking that is lead through cause and effect. AI is the pinnacle of humanity s attempts at mimicking the creation of life through artificial thinking. John R. Searle argues that the intentionality in human beings is a product of the brains and its mental processes. He also notes that the certain brain processes are sufficient (indicating that there is at times a bare minimum of processes) for the intentionality. He also states that the instantiation of a computer program can be done by a human but the program would still lack the relevant intentionality. Searle also states that, any mechanism capable of producing intentionality must have casual powers equal to those of the brain. One important thing to note in Searle s arguments is that he separates AI into two distinct categories. Strong AI and weak AI. Strong AI being the advanced computers that are in fact, minds, and that these computers can actually understand things. Weak AI on the other hand, are the computers that act as nothing more than tools to be used to study and to serve any purpose we program it to do. There is a correlation between violent crimes and poverty because of the unemployment rates in major cities, the culture of poor areas, and drugs. France, financially struggling, with british fleets headed towards the border, decided to sell approximately 530,000,000 acres of land west of the Mississippi River for $15 million( about 4 cents an acre). This purchase set the course of the establishment of the United States of America. If this purchase had not been made America could possibly be only the east coast and the west coast, France could control those 827,00 square miles to this day, which is larger than France today. They would also be in control of the trade and prosperity of New Orleans, which in the past was very prosperous and had the Pinckney Treaty of 1795 in place, resolving friction between Spain and the United States over the right to navigate the ... I had never left the breezy state of Ohio, but here I was, packed up and getting ready to board a flight to the beautiful Hatteras Island. Hatteras was far, much farther away than I had ever been from my home. I slept most of the plane ride in fear that I would be sick in front of everyone. Crammed in between a large man who decided both armrest were his and a small elderly women who spent the entire flight flipping through a book of pictures, I let my head lazily hang to one side and drifted off into the darkness of my sleep. I was awoken by the same large man hacking up what seemed to be his lung, pancreas, spine, and PhD into my face. I looked across the frail old lady out the window and took in my current surroundings. Everything hit me at once, the beauty of the earth around me suddenly became less blurry as I watched out my circular airplane window down at the sandy beaches of Hatteras. I got off the flight, went into the air conditioned beach house, and unpacked my suitcase. The white sand of the beaches warmed the soles of my feet as I stepped onto the dune down into the slack. The glow of the now fading orange sun warmed my face, while the unfamiliar smell of saltwater tickled my nose. I was on the beach for the first time and I was beyond anxious. My only previous knowledge of the beach came for movies such as Jaws and Soul Surfer. To my dismay there was not a cute sheriff ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
