Term Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Term Essay" can be a challenging task, as it requires a careful
balance between comprehensive research, critical analysis, and effective communication of ideas.
The difficulty lies not only in the need to grasp the nuances of the chosen subject but also in
crafting a coherent and well-structured narrative that engages the reader.
One of the primary challenges is the extensive research that must precede the writing process. A
term essay demands a thorough understanding of the chosen topic, requiring hours of reading,
note-taking, and synthesizing information from various sources. It's not just about regurgitating
facts but about forming a nuanced perspective that demonstrates a deep comprehension of the
subject matter.
Moreover, the analytical aspect adds another layer of complexity. Crafting a well-argued essay
involves critically evaluating different perspectives, identifying key themes, and presenting a
logical flow of ideas. This requires a keen intellect and the ability to think critically, dissecting
complex concepts and presenting them in a digestible manner.
The structural and organizational aspects also contribute to the difficulty. A term essay must
have a clear introduction, a well-developed body, and a concise conclusion. Ensuring a smooth
transition between paragraphs, maintaining coherence, and avoiding redundancy are crucial
elements that demand careful attention.
Beyond these challenges, there's the pressure to meet academic standards, adhere to specific
formatting guidelines, and produce an original piece of work. The constant fear of unintentional
plagiarism and the need to provide proper citations add another layer of stress.
In conclusion, writing a term essay is a formidable task that demands a combination of research
skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It requires a commitment to the process,
dedication to mastering the topic, and a keen eye for detail. Despite the difficulties, the
satisfaction of producing a well-crafted essay that contributes to the academic discourse can be
immensely rewarding.

ask ourselves why would anyone do that and why would anyone get a pet if they are
not going to love and care for it. Should animals be treated as our equals?
Speakers1: How are animals treated in different cultures and what does this say about
our cultures?
Speaker2: Should testing on animals be banned? What are the negative effects of
testing on animals and what other options do we have?

Joni E. Johnston Psy.D. Writes in an article in Psycology today that since the 1970 s
research has consistently reported childhood cruelty towards animals as the first
warning sign of later delinquency, violence and criminal behaviour. In fact nearly all
violent perpetrators have a history of animal cruelty in their profiles. Albert de
Salvo, the Boston Strangler found guilty of killing 13 women, shot arrows through
dogs and cats he trapped as a child. Colombine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold boasted about mutilating animals for fun.
Obviously cruelty towards animals is of great concern to psychologists in human
behaviour in its developing stages and prove to be a warning sign of things to come.
Should we not then look more closely at ourselves when we are adults, fully formed
human beings and ask ourselves if it is just as, in fact much more disconcerting and
disturbing, when we so ruthlessly harm animals. If a human being is willing to inflict
such great harm upon an animal, is it not possible that he/she is capable of conflicting
such harm upon a human
Informative Essay On Jfk Assassination
JFK assassination
Everyone knows about John F. Kennedy s assassination and everyone knows that it
is still a mystery who exactly killed him. Today people still do think th think that
Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy. But I think Lee Harvey Oswald setup by

I think Lee Harvey Oswald was set up because could never have gotten from the

Comparison Between Developing And Developed Nations
Both developing and developed nations were part of the set. The developed nations
consisted of 47% of the total set. We started with 43 nations and dropped a few
countries later from the analysis because of missing data.
4. RESULTS AND ANALYSIS
Table 2 shows the correlation results among various variables. Average serviceis
correlated with all cultural dimensions, except for MF and the correlations are in
predicted directions of hypotheses 1 3.
The OLS regression results are shown in Table 3. Here also we find that the
coefficients of all cultural dimensions (except for MF) area significant and in
predicted directions. This provides support for hypotheses 1 3, but not for hypothesis
4. The model explains 54% of the variance of SVA in our sample.
To prove hypothesis 5 we selected average service values representing activities in
four service sectors: Avg. ICT, Avg. FinIns, Avg. Transport and Avg. Travel. The
OLS results are mixed. Results in Table 4 show that only model 2 (please refer to the
methodology section earlier) with Avg. ICT as dependent variable has three cultural
dimensions significant with expected signs, and Insurance service sector model
(model 3 with Avg. FinIns as dependent variable) has one dimensionUA significant
with expected sign. Transport service sector model with Avg. Transport as
dependent variable (model 4) has IC significant with a negative sign. Also Travel
services sector model (model 5 Avg. Travel) has MF significant with a positive sign.

Paleo-Indian Period
The history of American Indians before European contact is broadly divided into
three major periods: the Paleo Indian period, the Archaic period (8000 1000 b.c.),
and the Woodland period (1000 b.c. 1600 a.d.). (DiNome) There is little known
information about the Paleo Indian period; however, the Paleo Indians are
believed to be some of the first American Indians, not only in Florida, but in all of
America. The Paleo Indians were believed to be nomads who fought and hunted
with stone tools and clubs. During the Archaic period American Indians began to
become more civilized. It was in the Archaic period that the American Indians began
to establish a system of trading among their people. During this time the Indians
also started developing migration routes to bring other Indians down to Florida
from the Carolinas. Similarly to the Indians in the Paleo time period, the Indians in
the Archaic period used stone tools for hunting and fighting, but they also began to
utilize the use of bone tools during this time period. Another skill that the Indians
started becoming more familiar with during this time period was basketry. The last
period that we see in pre contact Native American life is the Woodland period. It is
called the Woodland period because during this time is when the Native Americans
began farming. We see during this time the Indian settlements had begun moving
closer to streams of water and rivers, because that is where the soil was good for

Advantages Of Local Election
Local election was first introduced in George Town in 1857 and abolished by 1913.
It was then reintroduced in 1951 with the passing of the Local Authorities Election
Ordinance 1950. Two years late, the Local Council Ordinance 1952 created local
councils for villages. The last local election was held in 1963 due to proclamation

Stereotypes In To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee
Throughout the story of To Kill a Mockingbird many assumptions or stereotypes
were made based on what they saw or heard. First off, Boo Radley, who is a tall
mistreated boy, has rumors about him that make people think he is a freak. Next
is Tom Robinson, a tall black man who was accused of raping a woman named
Mayella. He was found guilty based on the color of his skin and the assumption
that African Americans are bad people. Finally is Scout, a 6 year old girl who is
the daughter of Atticus and sister of Jem. Most people look at her as a little
immature girl, but she isn t. She is an intelligent girl who cares about the goodness
of the people in her community. Which is why you shouldn t assume things based
on what you hear or see. Boo Radley is a reverent hero. He saved Jem And Scout
when they were being attacked by Mr. Ewell. He stepped in and stabbed Mr. Ewell
with a knife. He then carried Jem home to safety where he was looked at by a doctor
(Foote 75). However he is still merely looked at as a threat. Everybody knows him

Mayella is the daughter to Mr. Ewell who testified against Tom. Even though it was
obvious Tom was not guilty, the jury still found him guilty, because he was black.
First of all, Tom Robinson had no muscle in his left hand because he got it caught
in a cotton gin (Foote 61). Mayella s injuries were on the right side of her face, so
Tom wouldn t have been able to do that damage with a bad left hand. Second,
Mayella s stories were bad and she hesitated as she was asked the question Do you
remember him beating about the face? (Foote 60). With this evidence any white
man would have been not guilty, but people falsely accused him because he was
black. Sadly, after Tom was found guilty he was shot dead trying to run away. Tom

Adding International Perspectives to Vocational Education
International work opportunities are increasing as the borders of the U.S. economy
expand to embrace international markets. Future workers will need to develop global
awareness and an understanding of competitive, cultural, and economic factors that
influence ways of doing business in order to work in the international arena. This
Digest examines the instructional approaches and strategies used in vocational
education to prepare students to work in a global environment.

How can vocational education, the educational program area that is specifically
designed to prepare students for work, infuse international concepts into vocational
education programs so that the youth of today are prepared for the global
workplace? Ostheimer (1995) offers several suggestions:
1. Promote global awareness.
2. Internationalize the curriculum.
3. Adopt instructional practices that incorporate international dimensions.
4. Provide resources that address international/global dimensions of business.
5. Provide faculty development programs in international business.
Global Awareness
With the growth of multinational corporations and increased trade among nations,
workers need to understand global conditions, development, and trends. Such issues
as population growth, wealth distribution, environmental concerns, diseases, and
political and social problems as well as cultural issues such as religious beliefs,
customs, and family structure have implications for a country s business activity and
practices. The study of such issues will enhance students abilities to engage in job
related problem solving and decision making in ways that reflect knowledge of and
respect for other cultures (McLaughlin 1996).
Classroom study, even when it includes international content, cannot provide the
extent of global awareness that one
Outsourcing Essay
Outsourcing
Outsourcing has become a very popular issue, and it has reached an all time climax.
Firms are starting to do this a lot more than than in the previous decade. What is
outsourcing? Outsourcing is defined as The procuring of services or products, such
as the parts used in manufacturing a motor vehicle, from an outside supplier or
manufacturer in order to cut costs. And it has become a big issue in our country.
There are thousands of articles and books written on it, and you can attend
numerous classes and speeches on the subject. The use of outsourcing is quite
simple really... Either pay an American worker $15 an hour, or pay someone in
India to do the same job for $2 an hour. There are lots of other advantages and ...

The size of a company matters when trying to save money and what tasks you decide
to outsource (different jobs cost different wages), but generally speaking, a
company saves big dollars for sending jobs overseas. And sometimes companies
turn to outsourcing as a way to solve the wrong kinds of problems. If the problems
are from bad management, outsourcing won t help. This is something that needs to
be resolved inside the company itself, and hiring other types of labor won t help. A
company sometimes sends jobs to other countries that they are not capable of within
their budget or when it s outside your particular area of expertise. Another advantage
is that you don t have to become an expert in a particular area you can depend on the
outsourced company to be the expert. You can hire them to deal with 1 branch of
your company, and you don t have to worry about that area of your company (unless
they turn out to be incompetent).
Two major downsides to outsourcing is the risk of putting part of your company in
somebody else s hands. People that you may have never met in your whole life, and
just talked to over the phone. If they fail, then obviously your company will feel the
consequences. And instability is always bad for any company, hiring someone new in
the same position every month can be disastrous. Such high unstability in the position
may mean that people rarely stay long enough to become familiar with your
company. In these cases, it s unlikely

Author History
Author History Support of Religious and Political Freedoms in Sonnet XV John
Milton, born December 9, 1608, is considered one of England s greatest poets. But
Milton was not only a poet, he was also a political figure. Milton supported the
British Civil War and the Puritan government of Oliver Cromwell. Knowing this
background, it is no surprise that many of Milton s writings contain his strong
religious and political beliefs. Sonnet XV, a plea to Lord Fairfax to help the new
Commonwealth government be successful, displays Milton s concern with holy and
virtuous ideals, his disdain for the rule of the English monarchy, and his pro Puritan
republican political beliefs. Milton s holy and virtuous values were influenced by his

In Sonnet XV Milton also shows his dislike for the king. He refers to the king as a
serpent (line 8) and the king s followers as hydra heads (line 7) or monsters. In the
sonnet, he also refers to the king s government as full of Avarice and Rapine (line
14), greed, looting, plunder, and corruption. He further showed his disdain for the
monarchy, when he wrote Eikonoklastes ( image breaker ), which was the Puritan
government s official response supporting the former King s execution (Danielson
15). Milton did not just hate the monarchy, he supported a republican government.
Milton supported the Puritan ideals of religious freedom and establishment of a
more democratic system of government where all adult males had the right to vote
(Norbrook 109). In 1649, Milton was asked to work to support the new Puritan
government (Danielson 14). He worked for 11 years as a secretary in the
Commonwealth government. He wrote articles and pamphlets that defended the new
government and attacked its adversaries (Danielson 15). Sonnet XV shows these
ideas as Milton pleads with Lord Fairfax to help rid the Avarice and Rapine (Line
14) of the Royalist government. Additionally, Milton saw Public Fraud (line 13) as
shameful and as such, the Public Faith (line 12), which Milton equated with National
Honor (Honigmann 142), had to be removed from that fraud for the new government
to succeed. The examples above show

Vertigo (Dir. Alfred Hitchcock

achievement (Ross. G, 2017). It is a tale of male aggression and visual control.
Many of his other films involve strange motifs, themes, symbols and unpredictable
characters, however Vertigo has a much deeper intent. On release it, it dropped at
the box office, wasn t understood by audiences and could have ruined Hitchcock s
career all together. it only made $2.8m on release (Canning. B, 2010), Bridge on
the River Kwai (1957) the year before made over 6 times that amount at $18m

A Short Story Of Aeldra s Life Story
No luck she never had the chance to be happy. Aeldra couldn t handle it anymore.
She was all by herself growing up in a destroyed, impoverished cabin surviving
more than living, always begging for food on the street and never had anyone to
be with except her parents everyday in her dreams. Her horrible life story started
when she was only a three month baby when her father Deniz died on a trip in the
sea, and a nine year old little girl when her mother Bora was killed in a hurricane.
Destiny or maybe just the name curse, Aeldra wasn t sure what it was. Deniz
means sea in Turkish and Bora has the meaning of hurricane and that is where their
life ended, where their destiny landed them at the end so Aeldra made a promise to
herself to call her first born baby Hakan which meant emperor so the destiny would
make him the ruler. Aeldra hated the fact of being lonely and a family was what
she desired the most in her life. A need to belong, to be part of something, that was
all she wanted from this world but at the age of sixteen she got the most horrible
lesson on her life: Better off alone than with monsters. She got raped on a rainy
night while she was alone in the street and from that horrific experience, she got
pregnant. She was too young to be a mother, too poor to have a baby so even it
hurt her heart the most she decided to get rid of the life that was growing inside her.
She was four months pregnant and her back was killing her because of the pregnancy

An Unknown Grignard Reagent Experiment Essay
Grignard
5. Introduction In this experiment, an unknown Grignard reagent was prepared from
an aryl halide. The unknown reagent was then reacted with carbon dioxide to form a
carboxylic acid. The solid acid was then isolated and recrystallized before the melting
point was taken. The precipitate was then dissolved in water and titrated to determine
the molecular weight. The melting point and molecular weight were then used to
determine the unknown acid obtained from the experiment.
6. Data and Results The product obtained had a melting point of approximately 107
В°C and a weight of .324 grams. Some of the product would not dissolve in water and
so was removed through vacuum filtration, which left .141 g not dissolved in
solution. It took 13.2 mL of sodium hydroxide to turn the solution of the product
dissolved in water pink. A molecular weight of 138.63 g/mol was calculated from the
data. These results indicate that the product was 2 methylbenzoic acid, the Grignard
reagent was 2 methylphenylmagnesium bromide, and the unknown bromide solution
was 2 methylbromobenzene. Calculations showed that the limiting reagent of the
Grignard preparation was magnesium and that the experiment had a 23.13 % yield. 7.
Discussion and Conclusion Organometallic compounds, such as Grignard reagents,
are molecules containing carbon metal bonds and are often used to create new carbon
carbon bonds. Grignard reagents or organomagnesims are specifically those that have
a carbon magnesium bond.

Constellations
Have you ever wondered why you see certain shapes or patterns in the sky formed by
stars? Well, these formations are called constellations. There are tons of different
constellations that represent different logics of many poets, farmers, and
astronomers. Along the years, there have been many different relations that the
constellations have to famous myths and stories that are a part of world life. In
addition, the constellations are related to zodiac signs, which represent where the sun
was in the sky at the exact time and place of a person s birth. Examples of well
known constellations are Bootes, Aquarius, and Ursa Major. These constellations...

It s stars form the most recognizable constellation, the Big Dipper asterism, which is
also known as the Plough. In many different cultures, Ursa Major, is associated with
many crucial myths. Ursa Major was one of the first constellations categorized by
Greek astronomer Ptolemy during the second century. It s story in Greek mythology,
is classified with Callisto, a gorgeous nymph who was turned into a bear by Zeus s
envious wife Hera. Also, the Romans referred to the constellation as Septentrio, or
seven plough oxen, but only two of the seven stars represent oxen while the others
make a wagon. Native Americans tell the tale of how the bowl of the Big Dipper
represents a big bear and the surrounding stars are warriors chasing after it. Due to
the constellation being pretty low in the sky during autumn, the legend states that it s
the blood of the bear that turns the leaves on trees red. The constellation Ursa Major
belongs to the Ursa Major family which includes Boötes, Draco, Lynx, and many
others. The Ursa Major is a very recognizable constellation as various cultures
interpret the Ursa Major into different stories that explain certain elements on
What Is Engineered Wood Flooring
Q: Will my engineered hardwood flooring fade over time?
All hardwood flooring naturally reacts to ambient light as it ages, but direct sunlight
exposure can darken or lighten an exposed area. An aluminum oxide finish paired
with a UV coating helps slow this shading process. Also be mindful of occasionally
moving your furniture and rugs around the room to prevent noticeable spots from
forming. Mats and rugs with latex, vinyl or rubber backing also contribute to floor
discoloration. Choose an underlay that has a breathable mesh or grid pattern.
Q: Can I restore my engineered hardwood floors?
The short answer is yes, but there are multiple factors to consider before restoring
an engineered floor. Since the planks have a thin veneer of hardwood, you only
have so much product to sand down before hitting the core layer. The sanding
process removes 1/32 of an inch, so a 2 mm layer can be sanded once or twice. In
contrast, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to statistics compiled by the National Wood Flooring Association, wood
flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available. Although
hardwood trees typically take 40 to 60 years to mature for harvesting, they are
growing faster than they are being removed. Hardwood floors are believed to
improve indoor air quality, require less water and energy to produce than other
flooring and outlast every other option by decades. Additionally, trees milled for
flooring are harvested from responsibly managed forests or reclaimed wood from old
buildings.
Engineered hardwood shares many of these same benefits although the product has
a much shorter lifespan even when you factor in the ability to refinish the flooring.
However, the amount of raw material needed to produce a thin veneer skin is far
less than what is required to make a solid wood plank. Since it is mostly made from
organic material, engineered hardwood can be salvaged and recycled to expand its
Marianne Moore Essay
I will focus my discussion board posting on Marianne Moore. Marianne was
known as a dedicated baseball fan and a poet. An interesting fact about Marianne is
she got to throw out the first ball in 1968 at Yankee Stadium in New York. Her
poetry consisted of describing exotic animals and plants, steamrollers, and more.
Marianne won many awards because of her unique style described as The World s
Greatest Living Observer. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1909.
Marianne taught at a United States government school for American Indians for
four years. By 1916, she started to become famous as a new and creative poet.
Moreover, she moved to New York City. Marianne took a job working in the New

Marianne puts an image into the minds of the readers. For example, Of the crow
blue mussel shells, one keeps adjusting the ash heaps; opening and shutting itself
like an injured fan (McMichael 1510). She paints a picture with her words, and the
picture she paints is a blue mussel shell closing in on itself like a broken fan. I
imagine a medium sized blue mussel shell constantly shifting and moving to fold
in on itself. She also describes objects and things with extreme detail. For instance,
whereupon the stars pink rice grains, ink bespattered jelly fish, crabs like green
lilies and submarine toadstools, slide each on the other (McMichael 1510). She
compares the stars in the sky to little pink rice grains. Moreover, the jelly fish have
splashes of ink on them. She allows the readers to allow their imagination to
imagine the color of ink as a dark blue or black. Thus, the jellyfish has spots of blue
or black ink on their body. Then, she describes the crabs are like green lilies
possibly because the crabs are green. Marianne creates detailed images in her
reader s mind in her poems. Furthermore, she compares the creatures of the ocean
to odd objects like pink rice grains, fans, and toadstools. Marianne Moore s work
focuses more on images than themes due to her detailed writing and writing style.
Moreover, she describes objects and sea creatures in The Fish. Thus, she wants to
create a setting (in the ocean)
The Importance Of Poverty In Education
Although education should be the way out of poverty and inequality, there is the
evidence that still, graduates who went to private schools earn substantially more
than those who went to state schools (The Institute for Fiscal Studies, 2014). The gap
was quite substantial as it amounted up to 17 per cent, depending on the university
and subject they studied. Nonetheless, even for those who came from a similar
background, graduated from the same university, studied the same subjects, achieved
the same grade, and chose a similar career, those, who attended state schools, still
earned 7 per cent less than graduates from private schools. Such evidence suggests the
question, why the higher education, which is perceived as the route out of povertyinto
equality and prosperity, does not level the opportunities and does not prevent the
discrimination. Would implement a social justice approach be able to close such
gaps? Social justice with equal distribution of opportunity, income and wealth
achieved through respective policies in the politics, economy and social welfare
(Craig, 2002).
Scottish Parliament, after devolution in 1999, gained remarkable opportunity to pass
their own laws and implement new policies and necessary changes. At the time of

Royal Chinook Salmon
With the influx of human population immigrating to Pacific Northwest Region of the
United States at the end of the 19th century, extracting the natural goods of the
environment quickly became an issue of sustainability and preservation. In the State
of Washington Ninth Annual Report of the State Fish Commissioner of 1898, author
A.C. Little illustrates how the extractive actions along many of Washington s river
systems are resulting in a major depletion of salmonspecies unique to the Northwest.
Little s Report aimed to bring attention to over consumption of this finite resource
that was not only intrinsically valuable to many people within the region but was also
a very successful economic engine too value to deplete. The booming fishingindustry,

Little s Ninth Annual Report of the State Fish Commissioner of 1898, may not have
immediately propagated change in the region toward salmon fish restoration, but the
argument laid out in the report provides that the recommendations provided were
only to benefit all parties. From the transnational fishing industry, to the individual
livelihood of the local fishermen, along with the improvement salmon spawning
population, finally paired with ultimate sustainable harvest practices, would piece
together to support and improve all entities of the Pacific Northwest s salmon fishing

the ultimate outcome was to support a society at the brink of developing into a major
economic center of the western United States. At the end of the 19th century

State, Little only sought to prove that salmon restoration and sustainable practices
could provide a prosperous future for the
Australian Informal Language Analysis
As Australians we have a propensity to bend and break rules of standard language so
it is more playful and reflective of our boisterous national identity. In doing so,
language can gain the power to shock, offend and threaten social harmony. To an
extent, this is prevalent in Australian Informal language however, it is important to
recognise how informal languagecan promote solidarity. Through the use of
morphology, lexicology, syntax and semantics informal language can be used to
educate and inform other about taboo topics, emphasise the purpose of life and to
remind Australians about road safety.
Recently, Katie Duncan, a 25 year old Melbournian has hit to Facebook to remind
her fellow Australian females the importance of getting a pap smear. Her use of
euphemisms and word play have contributed to the vernacular of her post,
becoming a major factor for its going viral. Duncan s use of euphemisms such as
lady garden and her play on words like I m about to cervix you all some health chat

strengthen social bonds and harmony as well as emphasising social niceties.

Chronic OE
(b) Chronic OE this is same as acute diffuse OE but is of longer duration lasting more
than 6 weeks. Chronic OE is a fairly common condition that is sometimes the result of
incomplete treatment of acute OE. More often however, chronic OE is caused by
over manipulation of the ear canal as a consequence of cleaning and scratching. Such
over manipulation results in a low grade inflammatory response that causes further
itching of the skin. Eventually, the skin thickens, and canal stenosis may occur.
Eczematous (eczematoid) which encompasses various dermatologic conditions (e.g.
atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and eczema) may infect

characterized by long, white, filamentous hyphae growing from the skin surface.
Besides otorrhea, erythema and edema of the EAC are common. In severe cases, soft
tissue stenosis may be present. Extension of the infection may manifest as cellulitic

Kim By Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling s Kim
Kim gives a vivid picture of the complexities in India under British rule. It shows
the life of the bazaar mystics, of the natives, of the British military. There is a great
deal of action and movement, for Kipling s vast canvas painted in full detail. The
dialogue in the novel makes use of Indian phrases translated by the author, they give
the flavor of native speech in India. They are also touches of the native behavior and
shrewdness.
Setting:
The time the novel took place was around the late nineteenth century. The story takes
place in a hot and dry location of British India. Most of the scenes either take place
in the wilderness or the streets of India.

Looking At The Angel Capital Group
Angel investors are another way to start a business, like banks and venture capitalists.
It is their job to invest, they just have different evaluations to make an investment
worth their attention. Looking at the Angel Capital Group will expose the evaluations
they use, and give ideas weather or not an angel investoris right for the business one
seeks to have funded (Angel Capital Group, 2015). Understanding their proximity,
value, experience and other factors will help define what the angel investor is all
about (Bell, 2007). Putting other factual information together along with what the
angel is and what they are looking for will give a picture of what the possibilities
are for this type of endeavor. Where is the angel investor and where is the
business? The angel wants to feel close to the business, at least, if not be right next
door so they can check in easily (Bell, 2007). Just like mom can be a pain because
she knows so much about her baby, the angel wants to make sure you are healthy

many other things that might be harder to get at all by oneself. Why trust an angel

Stylist magazine features high end content that includes fashion, travel, beauty,
people and careers news. Judging from the general content included in Stylist, such
as aging creams, expensive perfumes and its intelligent approach covering a broader
range of culture and tackling issues women face in their professional and personal
lives it is evident that Stylist succeeds in attracting their intended target audience.
Stylist aims to target affluent 20 40 year old female commuters and according to
their media kit, Stylist s typical reader are women of the average age of 33, with 7

audience it can be argued that with Stylist s vibrant front covers and fun features such

For example, the latest issue of Stylist (19th November) stars Lisa Simpson as its

The Origin And Discoveries Of Electricity And Magnetism
This paper is mainly about the origin and discoveries of electricity and magnetism. It
is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything
about our way of life and has ushered us into a remarkable new age.
Firstly and most importantly, it is about the underlying idea of how magnetism and
electricity have come about, also it outlines and maps out the development and
discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and the latter
discoveries of mega production.
When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When
rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear
the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables.
At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and
every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal
number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the
atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are
neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by
shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of
orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the
outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order
to create a more stable configuration.

Similarities Between The Hearst Castle And The Topakapi...
Title That I Haven t Figured Out Yet
The drastic difference in time periods between the Hearst Castle and the Topakapi
Palace leads to the differentiation in materiality and function, but the similarities of
both the structures come together with the grandiosity of the project and the lasting
effect of the architecture. While the Hearst Castle was initially built just to
accommodate the Hearst family, the Topakapi palace was built for Mehmed II and
his dynasty. After a long line of collaboration with the Hearst family, Julia Morgan
was assigned to design a space for William Randolph Hearst in San Simeon because
he was tired of going up and camping and wanted something that would be more
comfortable .[1] Morgan began construction in 1919, and started with guest houses,
since Hearst put emphasis on the idea of having his family and friends over.
Additionally, Morgan partially based her design on the tower of the church at Ronda
in Southern Spain, a favorite site of Hearst. The California location gave Morgan and
Hearst the excuse to resemble and mimic the renaissance style of Southern Spain.
Controversy, the Topakapi Palace was originally built in 1465 by the Sultan Mehmed
II and his reign. The Topakapi Palace was a center for administration, education and
most importantly, to accommodate the Sultan. Aspects of religion and spirituality
were highly active through the site and the rich diversity of Islamic architecture was
prevalent throughout the space. Despite the
Catalysts In Elizabethan War
Conflicting Countries Catalysts in Elizabethan War In the movie The Martian,
Mark Watney creates water on Mars using a chemical reaction. Watney s
oxygenator creates oxygen from carbon dioxide and his Mars vehicle contains
unused hydrogen gas. He uses this to his advantage, taking both the oxygen gas
and the hydrogen gas and putting it in one room, requiring only one more step to
complete the process. All he needs now is the catalyst, something that speeds up the
rate of a reaction, to initiate and speed up the reaction of both these gases. He
ignites the gases in a closed environment and as it begins to heat up, water droplets
are slowly created. Watney uses fire as a catalyst to speed up the reaction as catalysts

A major catalyst of conflict from England was the fact that England was Protestant
at the time. England became Protestant under Elizabeth I, so the Catholics in Spain
saw the war as a religious crusade (Elizabethan). The Protestant Elizabeth I of
England, whom the Catholic Church did not recognise as the rightful English
monarch, had antagonised Catholics by making the Church of England the official
church in the Kingdom when she became Queen of England (Anglo Spanish). King
Philip II of Spain did not accept this as he was very devoted to his religion of
Catholicism. It is said that the only time he laughed was when thousands of
Protestant Christians were injured and killed in France on the St. Bartholomew s
Day massacre (Kilkenny). King Philip even tried to propose to Queen Elizabeth of
England hoping that if they married, she would renounce the Protestant religion to
become a Catholic. However, both the people of Spain and England opposed this and
Elizabeth declined (Adams). England becoming Protestant is unquestionably a
catalyst of war between England and
Argumentative Essay On Drinking Milk
You always hear your mom or dad say, Drink your milk, so you can get stronger!
but is milk really making you strong, or is it actually hurting you? Scientists say,
Dairy consumption can play a role in asthma, Parkinson s disease, and highly
elevated blood pressure. Dairy is highly inflammatory, causing issues like bloating,
gas, constipation, diarrhea, and acne. When you drink milk, you are actually
consuming far more than just milk. American dairy farmers have long been
injecting cows with a genetically engineered bovine growth hormone called rBGH
to increase milk production(MindBodyGreen), So what are you really putting in
your body that according to your parents makes you Big and Strong ? In this
paper, I tell you the truth about the three most common dairy products that just
might leave you speechless. Dairy consumption can lead to fatal diseases. The
average amount of serving you pay per gallon is 25 cents. Why are you paying that
if it s so unhealthy? Over the years, scientist and nutritionist have created lactose
free, dairy free, and soy free milk. A popular brand that we often consume is Silk. It
s free of all of soy, lactose, and dairy. Milk isn t unhealthy, in fact milk is very
healthy, but the dairy in the milk isn t. As this text stated, Milk Intake and Risk of
Mortality and Fractures in Women and Men, researchers following more than
100,000 men and women in Sweden for about 20 years found significantly higher
rates of bone and hip fractures,
The Black Death and Its Effects
Healing has been around a long time. You may think that medicine has changed a lot
over the years, and it has for the better. But that does not mean that some of the
practices have stayed around. prayer, accupuncture, diet, etc. have all stayed around,
but have changed slightly.
The plaque also known as the Black death swept over Europe and Asia in the 14
century to the 15th. This disease is spread by rats and killed many people. Over one
third of the population died of Europe. This painful and terrible disease managed to
tear families apart as well as communities.
Black death was caused by rats and rat fleas. A rat flea lives off of blood from
small mammals and sometimes but humans. If a rat flea were to bite an infected
rat and a human afterwards, the human would become infected, and possibly die
from the disease. Symptoms of the plague included but were not limited to fever,
Bubos(large painful boils) and headaches. In the later stages the person would
develop black and purple blotches all over their skin, and also cough up pus and
blood. The disease traveled through blood, so once the sickness reached their lungs
symptoms would only get worse, and most likely lead to death.
How people would try to prevent the elements could be considered strange and
useless in some peoples opinion, but during the black death people genuinely thought
doing the following would help. Going outside, bathing, sex or other personal
contact, and hot foods were all avoided. If you were to
Abigale Greedy Dance
Over the past several weeks, I have been working with a determined group of girls
to create a fun piece for a school dance battle. Abigale, Sophie, Kadey, Jesseca,
Libby and I put our heads together and formed an epic mashup. Our process, while
sometimes slow, will be beneficial to future projects. We ve shared ideas for
choreography, songs, and concepts to result in our 1 minute and 30 second piece.
The six of us wanted to choreograph a sassy routine that would be upbeat and
exciting. We decided to mash two songs together so we could use the element of
surprise to win our audience over. The song Greedy by Ariana Grande is bold and
lively. Abigale thought it would be perfect to cut the song before the chorus and
replace the rest with Cake By The Ocean by DNCE. In my opinion, this was a
strong decision because it opened some doors for us choreography wise. We were
able to manipulate the tone of the piece to social and uplifting than strictly sass and
jazz. While this was the basis of the dance,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

After realizing this song wouldn t be appropriate for a high school setting, we
went back to the drawing board. Two of our girls, Sophie and Abigale, attended
Showchoir Camps of America this summer. At this intensive, they learned a dance
to Greedy ; this was the main inspiration for our piece. From what I heard, it was
sassy and boisterous. While we didn t recycle the choreography (to my
knowledge), we wanted to include a similar dynamic. By putting all our energy
into the dance, we made the piece entertaining and upbeat. Another decision we
made was to use all the space provided. When possible, the six of us want to travel.
We are doing this all the time, except when travelling to our formations. Our process
for actually choreographing the songs took a bit longer than expected. I don t
believe this served us as a downfall; a lot of time was spent cleaning before moving

Mens Re An Actus Reus
Mens rea is a necessary element, alongside an actus reus, in order for a person to
be convicted in the majority of crimes. It is required to prove the mens rea in every
common law and statutory offence making it a significant part of any case which
enters the courtroom. There are two common forms of mens rea; intention, wicked
recklessness and negligence. Both of these forms, if proven, constitute as a
sufficient mens rea to be criminally liable. Intention The highest form of mens rea
is more than simple contemplation and is when one person purposely causes harm
to another individual. The case of Cunliffe v. Goodman involved a landlord who
was intending to pull down a building on the termination of the lease. At the end of
the lease, the premises was in bad repair and the landlord requested action to be
taken on the tenant for the damage. However, the tenant was under the impression
that the building was being demolished and refused to pay for any disrepair. It was
found that the tenant was protected from liability to pay damages . Wicked
recklessness the total indifference to and disregard for the safety of the public In the
case of McDowall v. HM Advocate, a man was charged with culpable homicide for
driving recklessly. The presiding judge stated that the man had utter disregard for the
victims and the fact that he drove with the bonnet in an upright position are factors
that the jury were entitled to take into account when considering his state of mind at

Some Of Common Misconceptions In Lullaby By Leslie
Marrman...
1.)What are some of the common misconceptions about indigenous writers? In
what ways do the writers we ve read play on those stereotypes? Some of the
common misconceptions is that indigenous writers are that they could not speak
English, uneducated, all lived in teepees, and their medicine was primitive. The
writers that we have read about dealt with these stereotypes was by including hints
and lines that these stereotypes are false. Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko has a
line about where the Indians stayed showing that they did not live in teepees. In
this story they lived in a boxcar shack where the rancher let the Indians live (pg
1545). Pawn Shop by Sherman Alexie is a very short work that demonstrates that
Indians are civilized. The man in the story goes into a bar looking for all of his
friends but can not find them so he leaves after the bartender gives him a free drink
for all of his troubles. I leave, searching the streets, searching storefronts, until I
walk into a pawn shop, find a single heart beating under glass, and I know who it
used to belong to, I know all of them (pg 1647). This works demonstrates that
Indians are just like normal people who go to shops, bars, and lose people along
the way that they miss dearly. 2.) Select one writer and write an extended reader
response to his/her work. Why did you like/dislike the work? Why? Lullaby by
Leslie Marmon Silko is a work that is depressing. There is real truth within it but it
is saddening. The beginning of the story a woman is remembering happier times
and her family members. Jimmie, which I was not able to identify the relationship
between the women and Jimmie was being remembered and thought upon by the
women. She realizes that she should not dwell on him since he is not dead. Yet,
one day a dark blue sedan with white writing on its doors pulled up in front of the
boxcar shack where the rancher let the Indians live. A man in a khaki uniform
trimmed in gold gave then a yellow piece of paper and told them that Jimmie was
dead (pg. 1545). The fact this woman found of that Jimmie was dead and she was
just telling herself that he was still alive to give herself hope is heartbreaking. I did
not like the work, the themes of death and

The Incarceration System Of The United States
Indeed, once upon a time the incarceration system was set in place with two firm
duties: retribution and rehabilitation. When did these institutions, once considered
virtuous and just, become the hallmark of inequality? On September 27th, 2015,
Pope Francis remarked on a visit to a Philadelphia jail It is painful when we see prison
systems, which are not concerned to care for wounds, to soothe pain, to offer new
possibilities, a moving sentiment that would soon resonate with the American

s female prison population is incarcerated in the United States. And if the magnitude
of that figure does not astound you, maybe the fact that every 1 in 15 American
prisoners are black, while only 1 in 106 prisoners are white, will. These statistics
reported by Harper s Index embody the blatant corruption of the American
incarcerationsystem and the innate institutionalized racism the U.S has sustained
throughout history. Since the inception of the United States, the government has had
one definitive purpose: to protect the people s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness. These prerogatives established a framework for the optimal democratic
society, one that would be impartial and benevolent. However, the entire non white
population is barred from sharing in these rights. One of the major ways these rights
are denied is through incarceration. A look at our high rates of imprisonment might,

reader is introduced to the earth welcoming the speaker back into the realm of
nature. Man was created from the dust of the earth and when we die, our bodies
return to the dust. However, this poem presents a more beautiful image of what
death is composed of. Death is often portrayed as being frightening and disturbing.
When individuals are presented with the thought of death, they often push this
thought away out of fear and ignorance. Everyone will die someday whether we
ignore the thought of death or not. However, Oliver creates a relaxing and
welcoming image for the reader on what death (ideally) is. Obviously, since Oliver
is still alive, she doesn t know what death feels like. However, the way she
describes death, I hope that it feels like sleeping in a forest; full of stars and
enchantment. The enchantment in this poem begins by the earth welcoming the
speaker back home. This speaker expresses that, She took me back so tenderly. This
statement exemplifies to the reader that death is not a scary process. In this case, the
earth is being portrayed as a woman. This is significant because women are often
portrayed as being nurturing and caring. For the reader, this can trigger memories or
ideas of who the reader would picture the earth as. Whether that be a mother,
grandmother, aunt, sister, etc. the reader can
Reflection Paper On Figure Skating
The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my
neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were
engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a
fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating
journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate
classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around
the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually
moving.
Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning,
Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake
up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as
sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind
is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there
would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me
into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure
skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland
Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the
Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in
our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the
bathroom floor truly
The Government Inspector Play Analysis
What happens when government officials of a corrupt town mistakenly identify the
wrong individual as the state government inspector? The townsfolk being to panic
while the audience hysterically laughs along! The Fine Arts department of the
University of Portland present the production of The Government Inspector written
by Nikolai Gogol and directed by Andrew Golla. The production of The Government
Inspector kicks off this Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the Mago Hunt Theatre
and ends the following Sunday, November 19, 2017. The playbegins at 7:30 pm
Wednesday through Saturday and 2:00 pm on Sunday. Overall, The Government
Inspector succeeds in breaking the fourth wall, creating a comedic filled environment
within the audience.
After hearing a rumor of an auditor coming to investigate their corrupt town, the
townsfolk go into a frenzy, attempting to fix their mistakes to pass inspection. Upon
hearing of the audits arrival, the townsfolk mistakenly identify Hlestakov, played by
Sawyer Hudson, as the inspector from St. Petersburg. The townsfolk, unaware of his
real identity, offer Hlestakov bribes, a place to stay, and the... Show more content on

Sawyer Hudson portrayed the character of Hlestakov perfectly, making me laugh
with the hotel mirror scene and especially the scene where he makes an impromptu
poem about Marya (played by Jen Bigoness). Hudsons portrayal of Hlestakov is sure
none to beat. In all honesty, his character brought out the inner Hlestakov within
myself the conceitedness and the weirdness. Mayor Anton Dumakhanovsky s (played
by Emily Hogan) anger towards the townsfolk and family actually makes the
performance exceptional. It reminded me of that feeling where you cannot really be
serious with someone who tries to act
Minimum Degree Of Negligence
Probably not. Because the standard of care employed by the relevant statute is a
minimum degree of care, the CWS has a burden of proving that Ms. Ryan failed to
exercise more than ordinary care, and that her act was grossly negligent. The degree
of negligence necessary to find an act to be grossly negligent is generally measured
by the nature of the act that is willful and wanton. Ms. Ryan s conduct undoubtedly
demonstrates her inattentiveness and a certain degree of negligencebecause she left
her very young children unsupervised in her apartment where they are only 8 and 4
years of age respectively. However, more likely than not, the court will hold that
her neglectful act does not give rise to the extent of gross negligence because Ms.
Ryan depended on the babysitter to show up very shortly based on the fact that she
was almost always punctual. Additionally, young children often cry and it is
common for a 4 year old to wet her pants regardless of the fact that a parent pays the
closest attention possible to the child. Ms. Ryan will have to concede that she was
careless to leave the stew simmering on the stove when she left the apartment, yet,
the court will likely find that this was not done willfully and wantonly as she
intended to prepare the dinner for her children to ensure that they were going to be
fed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ryan s failure to properly care for her children is not the result of her willful and

Burmese Pythons Problems
Burmese pythons are an invading species that are causing problems to the local
animal population, the local ecosystems, and the people in the area of Florida s
Everglades. These snakes are one of the biggest snakes in the world and grow up to
be twenty three feet long and weigh up to two hundred pounds. They are able to
hunt in the dark due to the chemical receptors on their tongues and heat sensors all
over their jaw. This is bad for humans, as we cannot see very well in the dark. This
can cause the snake to see us, but us not be able to see them. Without natural
predators, these animals are lean, mean killing machines that can destroy many
populations of animals and stand as a threat to humans.
An invasive species is a species that comes out of its natural environment, and enters
another. These animals are usually very bad for the ecosystem and may cause an
unbalance. These animals usually come in with many competitive advantages and
can easily dominate any competition. This will give them the ability to eat as much as
they would like without being threatened in any way. This could possibly diminish
many populations and end an entire ecosystem.
These Burmese Pythons cause problems to three main elements. One main problem
that the Burmese Pythons are causing is a decrease in the local animal populations.
These animals have not been doing very well since the Burmese Python was
introduced to the area. A Burmese Python is able to feed as much as it wants without

I think that these pythons are causing many problems and if we do not remove them
from the ecosystem soon, they might cause permanent damage. I think that if we
need to step in to stop this problem, it has grown far too big for comfort. These
snakes are diminishing populations by the minute. If we wait any longer, the entire
Florida ecosystem may no longer

However, the main meaning of Ender s Game is that one s individual needs must
be put below the good of humanity. Since the beginning of the novel, Ender has to
give up his childhood and being with his beloved sister, Valentine, in order to go to
Battle School to help the war effort in any way. At Battle School, Graff makes sure
the other students isolate him to make sure he reaches his full potential there
which forfeits any chance Ender has in making friends. However, Ender finds a
way to make friends, and just as he does, he is promoted to an army because the
human race is depending on him being prepared to fight the buggers. Ender accepts
that he might not be happy, but he must be his best to fight the buggers. Before
Command School when Ender spends a lot of time at the lake, he finally feels
happy after the hardships and horrors of Battle School, yet when Graff asks him if
he wants to go on to Battle School, Ender agrees. If he had not made these sacrifices,
the humans might not have defeated the buggers, and there would have been different
Biography of Marie and Pierre Curie Essay
After doing some research over Marie and Pierre Curie I was able to put together
this paper. This paper contains information about the life of Pierre and Marie Curie
and their significance to physics and science in general. Pierre and Marie Curie are
best known for their pioneering work in the study of radioactivity. The couple s work
led to their discovery of the elements radiumand polonium (Dick). Pierre Curie was
born on May 15, 1859. He was born in Paris, France. Pierre s parents were Eugene
Curie and Sophie Claire Depoully Curie. Pierre had one older brother, Jacques
Curie. Eugene was a scientist who gave up his dreams of a scientific career in order
to support the needs of his family. It was through his medical practice... Show more

Unsurprisingly, the two brothers began to experiment together. Their work led to
the discovery of piezoelectricity which is the electric polarization caused by
compression or expansion of crystals in a specific direction (Bailey). The brothers
conducted more experiments to further study the new phenomenon. They also
learned that crystals are compressed when an electric field is applied. Alternating
currents could make the crystals vibrate at high ultrahigh frequencies. Today s
sound equipment is based in this phenomenon. The piezoelectric quartz balance
was invented by Pierre and Jacques. Their invention made the way for modern
quartz watches and radio transmitters (Bailey). Years later Pierre took up a new job
at the School of Industrial Physics and Chemistry in Paris. When Pierre first started
teaching he wasn t much older than his students. He struggled to make new friends
due to his shy and reserved nature. However, after working closely with him, Pierre
s students came to admire and respect him (Bailey). Pierre pursued his own studies
when he wasn t teaching. Within the first couple of years of teaching he published
two papers on crystallography. He didn t have his own laboratory in which to work,
and at the institution space and equipment was scarce. During his off hours, Pierre
would sometimes use students laboratories or set up his equipment in the hallway
(Bailey). Later,

Jordan Brand Research Paper
Jammel Cutler
#33
@Jcut_NBA
Jordan Brand continues to defy technological advances with their new innovative
sneaker the Jordan B. Fly. I was blessed enough to test out this one of a kind
sneaker at Terminal 23 with special guest Michael Kidd Gilchrist. If you re a
defensive minded player like Gilchrist, then this sneaker is for you. This sneaker is
specially designed for lateral quickness and a quick first step. One of the things I
admire the most about these sneakers is the injected pylon in the middle. That gives
the sneaker a lightweight cushioning.
Its fun being apart of the Jordan Brand Family, we take a trip every year that I look
forward to, Jordan Brand alawys associates with althetes that holds greatness in them.

When you re making quick first steps or spur of the moment defensive moves its
important to have good lockdown and support. I like the way it wraps around my
foot. I like the rubber, it seems like it ll last a lifetime. This sneaker is best for indoor
courts.
Cushioning
The cushioning is absolutely incredible. This is one of the most lightweight and
comfortable sneakers I ever worn.
FIT
This sneaker is true to size, I like that it has no dead space within the shoe. As I stated
earlier the asymmetrical lacing system gives this shoe a nice snug fit and the good
lockdown support.
Conclusion
Pros Good traction, and lightweight, and excellent lateral containment.
Cons The shoe has a basic color way and design which might not make it a cool
sneaker or a must have, however if you re interested in on the court performance then
this sneaker is for you.
Sizing True to size
Best for The basketball player who depends on defense who places emphases on the
lightweight ability of the sneaker rather than the look of it.

Chiquita Banana Case Study
From the case, we saw that the executives of Chiquita Banana in Columbia chose to
pay the AUC for protection from the FARC. The US government put AUC on its list
of terrorist organization on September 2001. Chiquita brand international is a pioneer
in the globalization of the banana industry, where bananas are not only a serious
business, but it is a representation of economic, social, political, and legal difficulties.
From the perspective of Chiquita s Columbian subsidiary, Banadex S.A., they first
began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property and its
employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order
to save their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the
responsibility of the company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel
they were in the right when they started making the payments at first. This was not
a safe time because during the period of mid 1960s, Columbian civil war and
armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the emergence of
powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover,
there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and
were involved in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as
well as attacks on political and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe
protection from the political and war world around them. It made sense at that time
Papyrus Of Ani Research Paper
The papyrus of Ani is an extremely old Egyptian manuscript that contains many
hymns and prayers that were said in Egyptian burial services. One of the initial
prayers that were said at the burial service for Osiris Ani was entitled The prayer of
Ani. This prayer is in the service as a tool to help ensure that the soul of Ani makes
it to heaven without any problems. This prayer says, ay nought stand up to oppose
me at [my] judgment, may there be no opposition to me in the presence of the Chiefs
(Tchatchau); (pg.9), which is explaining the desire to enter heaven without any
opposition. This prayer also says, May the Sheniu officials, who make the conditions
of the lives of men, not cause my name to stink, (pg. 9 ), which also insinuates
Book Report Of Ettiquete And Espionage By Gail Garriger
The book I have read for my book report on the month of January has been Ettiquete
and Espionage, written by Gail Garriger. Set in 1851, England. In this book a
fourteen year old girl named, Sophronia Temminnick is sent to Mademoiselle
Gerlandines Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. Though Sophriona
soon realizes the true meaning of the part Finishing. It means the Art of Killing
others. The school is actually a training school for young assassins. It also teaches
you to do that while becoming a lady of class. Sophronia and her friends set off on
an adventure up in the floating academyto find an object gone missing: the prototype.

like climbing, and rope tying gets them out of the situation and drives the carriage.
It was things like that, that were considered very unlady like in the Victorian stlye
of the 1800 s. Upon reaching the academy, which Sophronia finds out is actually a
floating ship explaining why nobody knew exactly where the academy was
located. She has some pretty unusual classes, such as her class with Captain Niall
on using knives. Her algebra class is when they teach you to get the correct amount
of poison to kill a person. Sopjriona also has a pet named Bumbersnoot. She meets a
boy who is sootie named Phineas Crow but nicknamed Soap. A sootie works in the
boiler room and since her pet is a mechanical it needs coal to function. Sophronia
grows accustomed to the art of etiquette and espionage. While in her time on the
ship they are attacked by flyawaymen. While Sophronia was not in her room while
this happened and she was retrieving coal in the boiler room with Vieve and Soap.

Term Essay

  • 1. Term Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Term Essay" can be a challenging task, as it requires a careful balance between comprehensive research, critical analysis, and effective communication of ideas. The difficulty lies not only in the need to grasp the nuances of the chosen subject but also in crafting a coherent and well-structured narrative that engages the reader. One of the primary challenges is the extensive research that must precede the writing process. A term essay demands a thorough understanding of the chosen topic, requiring hours of reading, note-taking, and synthesizing information from various sources. It's not just about regurgitating facts but about forming a nuanced perspective that demonstrates a deep comprehension of the subject matter. Moreover, the analytical aspect adds another layer of complexity. Crafting a well-argued essay involves critically evaluating different perspectives, identifying key themes, and presenting a logical flow of ideas. This requires a keen intellect and the ability to think critically, dissecting complex concepts and presenting them in a digestible manner. The structural and organizational aspects also contribute to the difficulty. A term essay must have a clear introduction, a well-developed body, and a concise conclusion. Ensuring a smooth transition between paragraphs, maintaining coherence, and avoiding redundancy are crucial elements that demand careful attention. Beyond these challenges, there's the pressure to meet academic standards, adhere to specific formatting guidelines, and produce an original piece of work. The constant fear of unintentional plagiarism and the need to provide proper citations add another layer of stress. In conclusion, writing a term essay is a formidable task that demands a combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It requires a commitment to the process, dedication to mastering the topic, and a keen eye for detail. Despite the difficulties, the satisfaction of producing a well-crafted essay that contributes to the academic discourse can be immensely rewarding. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other academic writing challenges, it's worth exploring resources like HelpWriting.net, where expert writers can provide support and guidance tailored to specific needs. We ask ourselves why would anyone do that and why would anyone get a pet if they are not going to love and care for it. Should animals be treated as our equals? Speakers1: How are animals treated in different cultures and what does this say about our cultures? Speaker2: Should testing on animals be banned? What are the negative effects of testing on animals and what other options do we have? Writes in an article in Psycology today that since the 1970 s research has consistently reported childhood cruelty towards animals as the first warning sign of later delinquency, violence and criminal behaviour. In fact nearly all violent perpetrators have a history of animal cruelty in their profiles. Albert de Salvo, the Boston Strangler found guilty of killing 13 women, shot arrows through dogs and cats he trapped as a child. Colombine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold boasted about mutilating animals for fun. Obviously cruelty towards animals is of great concern to psychologists in human behaviour in its developing stages and prove to be a warning sign of things to come. Should we not then look more closely at ourselves when we are adults, fully formed human beings and ask ourselves if it is just as, in fact much more disconcerting and disturbing, when we so ruthlessly harm animals. If a human being is willing to inflict such great harm upon an animal, is it not possible that he/she is capable of conflicting such harm upon a human

Today people still do think th think that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy. But I think Lee Harvey Oswald setup by someone. For example was Lee Harvey Oswald The only one in the building at a time. We started with 43 nations and dropped a few countries later from the analysis because of missing data. 4. RESULTS AND ANALYSIS Table 2 shows the correlation results among various variables. Average serviceis correlated with all cultural dimensions, except for MF and the correlations are in predicted directions of hypotheses 1 3. The OLS regression results are shown in Table 3. Here also we find that the coefficients of all cultural dimensions (except for MF) area significant and in predicted directions. This provides support for hypotheses 1 3, but not for hypothesis 4. The model explains 54% of the variance of SVA in our sample. To prove hypothesis 5 we selected average service values representing activities in four service sectors: Avg. ICT, Avg. FinIns, Avg. Transport and Avg. Travel. The OLS results are mixed. Results in Table 4 show that only model 2 (please refer to the methodology section earlier) with Avg. ICT as dependent variable has three cultural dimensions significant with expected signs, and Insurance service sector model (model 3 with Avg. FinIns as dependent variable) has one dimensionUA significant with expected sign. Transport service sector model with Avg. Transport as dependent variable (model 4) has IC significant with a negative sign. Also Travel services sector model (model 5 Avg. Travel) has MF significant with a positive sign. All
  • 5. Paleo-Indian Period The history of American Indians before European contact is broadly divided into three major periods: the Paleo Indian period, the Archaic period (8000 1000 b.c.), and the Woodland period (1000 b.c. 1600 a.d.). (DiNome) There is little known information about the Paleo Indian period; however, the Paleo Indians are believed to be some of the first American Indians, not only in Florida, but in all of America. The Paleo Indians were believed to be nomads who fought and hunted with stone tools and clubs. During the Archaic period American Indians began to become more civilized. It was in the Archaic period that the American Indians began to establish a system of trading among their people. During this time the Indians also started developing migration routes to bring other Indians down to Florida from the Carolinas. Similarly to the Indians in the Paleo time period, the Indians in the Archaic period used stone tools for hunting and fighting, but they also began to utilize the use of bone tools during this time period. Another skill that the Indians started becoming more familiar with during this time period was basketry. The last period that we see in pre contact Native American life is the Woodland period. It is called the Woodland period because during this time is when the Native Americans began farming. We see during this time the Indian settlements had begun moving closer to streams of water and rivers, because that is where the soil was good for successful

  • 8. Stereotypes In To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee Throughout the story of To Kill a Mockingbird many assumptions or stereotypes were made based on what they saw or heard. First off, Boo Radley, who is a tall mistreated boy, has rumors about him that make people think he is a freak. Next is Tom Robinson, a tall black man who was accused of raping a woman named Mayella. He was found guilty based on the color of his skin and the assumption that African Americans are bad people. Finally is Scout, a 6 year old girl who is the daughter of Atticus and sister of Jem. Most people look at her as a little immature girl, but she isn t. She is an intelligent girl who cares about the goodness of the people in her community. Which is why you shouldn t assume things based on what you hear or see. Boo Radley is a reverent hero. He saved Jem And Scout when they were being attacked by Mr. Ewell. He stepped in and stabbed Mr. Ewell with a knife. He then carried Jem home to safety where he was looked at by a doctor (Foote 75). However he is still merely looked at as a threat. Even though it was obvious Tom was not guilty, the jury still found him guilty, because he was black. First of all, Tom Robinson had no muscle in his left hand because he got it caught in a cotton gin (Foote 61). Mayella s injuries were on the right side of her face, so Tom wouldn t have been able to do that damage with a bad left hand. Second, Mayella s stories were bad and she hesitated as she was asked the question Do you remember him beating about the face? (Foote 60). With this evidence any white man would have been not guilty, but people falsely accused him because he was black. Sadly, after Tom was found guilty he was shot dead trying to run away. Tom Robinson who was an innocent man, died because of the color of his skin and the assumption of his

Adding International Perspectives to Vocational Education International work opportunities are increasing as the borders of the U.S. economy expand to embrace international markets. Future workers will need to develop global awareness and an understanding of competitive, cultural, and economic factors that influence ways of doing business in order to work in the international arena. This Digest examines the instructional approaches and strategies used in vocational education to prepare students to work in a global environment. How can vocational education, the educational program area that is specifically designed to prepare students for work, infuse international concepts into vocational education programs so that the youth of today are prepared for the global workplace? Ostheimer (1995) offers several suggestions: 1. Promote global awareness. 2. Internationalize the curriculum. 3. Adopt instructional practices that incorporate international dimensions. 4. Provide resources that address international/global dimensions of business. 5. Provide faculty development programs in international business. Global Awareness With the growth of multinational corporations and increased trade among nations, workers need to understand global conditions, development, and trends. Such issues as population growth, wealth distribution, environmental concerns, diseases, and political and social problems as well as cultural issues such as religious beliefs, customs, and family structure have implications for a country s business activity and practices. The study of such issues will enhance students abilities to engage in job related problem solving and decision making in ways that reflect knowledge of and respect for other cultures (McLaughlin 1996). Classroom study, even when it includes international content, cannot provide the extent of global awareness that one
  • 10. Outsourcing Essay Outsourcing Outsourcing has become a very popular issue, and it has reached an all time climax. Firms are starting to do this a lot more than than in the previous decade. What is outsourcing? Outsourcing is defined as The procuring of services or products, such as the parts used in manufacturing a motor vehicle, from an outside supplier or manufacturer in order to cut costs. And it has become a big issue in our country. There are thousands of articles and books written on it, and you can attend numerous classes and speeches on the subject. The use of outsourcing is quite simple really... Either pay an American worker $15 an hour, or pay someone in India to do the same job for $2 an hour. There are lots of other advantages and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The size of a company matters when trying to save money and what tasks you decide to outsource (different jobs cost different wages), but generally speaking, a company saves big dollars for sending jobs overseas. And sometimes companies turn to outsourcing as a way to solve the wrong kinds of problems. If the problems are from bad management, outsourcing won t help. This is something that needs to be resolved inside the company itself, and hiring other types of labor won t help. A company sometimes sends jobs to other countries that they are not capable of within their budget or when it s outside your particular area of expertise. Another advantage is that you don t have to become an expert in a particular area you can depend on the outsourced company to be the expert. You can hire them to deal with 1 branch of your company, and you don t have to worry about that area of your company (unless they turn out to be incompetent). Two major downsides to outsourcing is the risk of putting part of your company in somebody else s hands. People that you may have never met in your whole life, and just talked to over the phone. If they fail, then obviously your company will feel the consequences. And instability is always bad for any company, hiring someone new in the same position every month can be disastrous. Such high unstability in the position may mean that people rarely stay long enough to become familiar with your company. In these cases, it s unlikely

  • 12. Author History Author History Support of Religious and Political Freedoms in Sonnet XV John Milton, born December 9, 1608, is considered one of England s greatest poets. But Milton was not only a poet, he was also a political figure. Milton supported the British Civil War and the Puritan government of Oliver Cromwell. Knowing this background, it is no surprise that many of Milton s writings contain his strong religious and political beliefs. Sonnet XV, a plea to Lord Fairfax to help the new Commonwealth government be successful, displays Milton s concern with holy and virtuous ideals, his disdain for the rule of the English monarchy, and his pro Puritan republican political beliefs. Milton s holy and virtuous values were influenced by his study... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Sonnet XV Milton also shows his dislike for the king. He refers to the king as a serpent (line 8) and the king s followers as hydra heads (line 7) or monsters. In the sonnet, he also refers to the king s government as full of Avarice and Rapine (line 14), greed, looting, plunder, and corruption. He further showed his disdain for the monarchy, when he wrote Eikonoklastes ( image breaker ), which was the Puritan government s official response supporting the former King s execution (Danielson 15). Milton did not just hate the monarchy, he supported a republican government. Milton supported the Puritan ideals of religious freedom and establishment of a more democratic system of government where all adult males had the right to vote (Norbrook 109). In 1649, Milton was asked to work to support the new Puritan government (Danielson 14). He worked for 11 years as a secretary in the Commonwealth government. He wrote articles and pamphlets that defended the new government and attacked its adversaries (Danielson 15). Sonnet XV shows these ideas as Milton pleads with Lord Fairfax to help rid the Avarice and Rapine (Line 14) of the Royalist government. Additionally, Milton saw Public Fraud (line 13) as shameful and as such, the Public Faith (line 12), which Milton equated with National Honor (Honigmann 142), had to be removed from that fraud for the new government to succeed. The examples above show

She was all by herself growing up in a destroyed, impoverished cabin surviving more than living, always begging for food on the street and never had anyone to be with except her parents everyday in her dreams. Her horrible life story started when she was only a three month baby when her father Deniz died on a trip in the sea, and a nine year old little girl when her mother Bora was killed in a hurricane. Destiny or maybe just the name curse, Aeldra wasn t sure what it was. Deniz means sea in Turkish and Bora has the meaning of hurricane and that is where their life ended, where their destiny landed them at the end so Aeldra made a promise to herself to call her first born baby Hakan which meant emperor so the destiny would make him the ruler. Aeldra hated the fact of being lonely and a family was what she desired the most in her life. A need to belong, to be part of something, that was all she wanted from this world but at the age of sixteen she got the most horrible lesson on her life: Better off alone than with monsters. She got raped on a rainy night while she was alone in the street and from that horrific experience, she got pregnant. She was too young to be a mother, too poor to have a baby so even it hurt her heart the most she decided to get rid of the life that was growing inside her. She was four months pregnant and her back was killing her because of the pregnancy she traveled
  • 15. An Unknown Grignard Reagent Experiment Essay Grignard 5. Introduction In this experiment, an unknown Grignard reagent was prepared from an aryl halide. The unknown reagent was then reacted with carbon dioxide to form a carboxylic acid. The solid acid was then isolated and recrystallized before the melting point was taken. The precipitate was then dissolved in water and titrated to determine the molecular weight. The melting point and molecular weight were then used to determine the unknown acid obtained from the experiment. 6. Data and Results The product obtained had a melting point of approximately 107 В°C and a weight of .324 grams. Some of the product would not dissolve in water and so was removed through vacuum filtration, which left .141 g not dissolved in solution. It took 13.2 mL of sodium hydroxide to turn the solution of the product dissolved in water pink. A molecular weight of 138.63 g/mol was calculated from the data. These results indicate that the product was 2 methylbenzoic acid, the Grignard reagent was 2 methylphenylmagnesium bromide, and the unknown bromide solution was 2 methylbromobenzene. Calculations showed that the limiting reagent of the Grignard preparation was magnesium and that the experiment had a 23.13 % yield. 7. Discussion and Conclusion Organometallic compounds, such as Grignard reagents, are molecules containing carbon metal bonds and are often used to create new carbon carbon bonds. Grignard reagents or organomagnesims are specifically those that have a carbon magnesium bond.

  • 17. What Is Engineered Wood Flooring Q: Will my engineered hardwood flooring fade over time? All hardwood flooring naturally reacts to ambient light as it ages, but direct sunlight exposure can darken or lighten an exposed area. An aluminum oxide finish paired with a UV coating helps slow this shading process. Also be mindful of occasionally moving your furniture and rugs around the room to prevent noticeable spots from forming. Mats and rugs with latex, vinyl or rubber backing also contribute to floor discoloration. Choose an underlay that has a breathable mesh or grid pattern. Q: Can I restore my engineered hardwood floors? The short answer is yes, but there are multiple factors to consider before restoring an engineered floor. Since the planks have a thin veneer of hardwood, you only have so much product to sand down before hitting the core layer. The sanding process removes 1/32 of an inch, so a 2 mm layer can be sanded once or twice. In contrast, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to statistics compiled by the National Wood Flooring Association, wood flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available. Although hardwood trees typically take 40 to 60 years to mature for harvesting, they are growing faster than they are being removed. Hardwood floors are believed to improve indoor air quality, require less water and energy to produce than other flooring and outlast every other option by decades. Additionally, trees milled for flooring are harvested from responsibly managed forests or reclaimed wood from old buildings. Engineered hardwood shares many of these same benefits although the product has a much shorter lifespan even when you factor in the ability to refinish the flooring. However, the amount of raw material needed to produce a thin veneer skin is far less than what is required to make a solid wood plank. Since it is mostly made from organic material, engineered hardwood can be salvaged and recycled to expand its

For example, Of the crow blue mussel shells, one keeps adjusting the ash heaps; opening and shutting itself like an injured fan (McMichael 1510). She paints a picture with her words, and the picture she paints is a blue mussel shell closing in on itself like a broken fan. I imagine a medium sized blue mussel shell constantly shifting and moving to fold in on itself. She also describes objects and things with extreme detail. For instance, whereupon the stars pink rice grains, ink bespattered jelly fish, crabs like green lilies and submarine toadstools, slide each on the other (McMichael 1510). She compares the stars in the sky to little pink rice grains. Moreover, the jelly fish have splashes of ink on them. She allows the readers to allow their imagination to imagine the color of ink as a dark blue or black. Thus, the jellyfish has spots of blue or black ink on their body. Then, she describes the crabs are like green lilies possibly because the crabs are green. Marianne creates detailed images in her reader s mind in her poems. Furthermore, she compares the creatures of the ocean to odd objects like pink rice grains, fans, and toadstools. Marianne Moore s work focuses more on images than themes due to her detailed writing and writing style. Moreover, she describes objects and sea creatures in The Fish. Thus, she wants to create a setting (in the ocean)

The Importance Of Poverty In Education Although education should be the way out of poverty and inequality, there is the evidence that still, graduates who went to private schools earn substantially more than those who went to state schools (The Institute for Fiscal Studies, 2014). The gap was quite substantial as it amounted up to 17 per cent, depending on the university and subject they studied. Nonetheless, even for those who came from a similar background, graduated from the same university, studied the same subjects, achieved the same grade, and chose a similar career, those, who attended state schools, still earned 7 per cent less than graduates from private schools. Such evidence suggests the question, why the higher education, which is perceived as the route out of povertyinto equality and prosperity, does not level the opportunities and does not prevent the discrimination. Would implement a social justice approach be able to close such gaps? Social justice with equal distribution of opportunity, income and wealth achieved through respective policies in the politics, economy and social welfare (Craig, 2002). It is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything about our way of life and has ushered us into a remarkable new age. Firstly and most importantly, it is about the underlying idea of how magnetism and electricity have come about, also it outlines and maps out the development and discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and the latter discoveries of mega production. When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables. At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order to create a more stable configuration. But that does not mean that some of the practices have stayed around. prayer, accupuncture, diet, etc. have all stayed around, but have changed slightly. The plaque also known as the Black death swept over Europe and Asia in the 14 century to the 15th. This disease is spread by rats and killed many people. Over one third of the population died of Europe. This painful and terrible disease managed to tear families apart as well as communities. Black death was caused by rats and rat fleas. A rat flea lives off of blood from small mammals and sometimes but humans. If a rat flea were to bite an infected rat and a human afterwards, the human would become infected, and possibly die from the disease. Symptoms of the plague included but were not limited to fever, Bubos(large painful boils) and headaches. In the later stages the person would develop black and purple blotches all over their skin, and also cough up pus and blood. The disease traveled through blood, so once the sickness reached their lungs symptoms would only get worse, and most likely lead to death. How people would try to prevent the elements could be considered strange and useless in some peoples opinion, but during the black death people genuinely thought doing the following would help. In what ways do the writers we ve read play on those stereotypes? Some of the common misconceptions is that indigenous writers are that they could not speak English, uneducated, all lived in teepees, and their medicine was primitive. The writers that we have read about dealt with these stereotypes was by including hints and lines that these stereotypes are false. Lullaby by Leslie Marmon Silko has a line about where the Indians stayed showing that they did not live in teepees. In this story they lived in a boxcar shack where the rancher let the Indians live (pg 1545). Pawn Shop by Sherman Alexie is a very short work that demonstrates that Indians are civilized. The man in the story goes into a bar looking for all of his friends but can not find them so he leaves after the bartender gives him a free drink for all of his troubles. I leave, searching the streets, searching storefronts, until I walk into a pawn shop, find a single heart beating under glass, and I know who it used to belong to, I know all of them (pg 1647). • 40. The Incarceration System Of The United States Indeed, once upon a time the incarceration system was set in place with two firm duties: retribution and rehabilitation. When did these institutions, once considered virtuous and just, become the hallmark of inequality? On September 27th, 2015, Pope Francis remarked on a visit to a Philadelphia jail It is painful when we see prison systems, which are not concerned to care for wounds, to soothe pain, to offer new possibilities, a moving sentiment that would soon resonate with the American population. Unbeknownst to many listening to his gripping words, в…“ of the world s female prison population is incarcerated in the United States. And if the magnitude of that figure does not astound you, maybe the fact that every 1 in 15 American prisoners are black, while only 1 in 106 prisoners are white, will. These statistics reported by Harper s Index embody the blatant corruption of the American incarcerationsystem and the innate institutionalized racism the U.S has sustained throughout history. Since the inception of the United States, the government has had one definitive purpose: to protect the people s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These prerogatives established a framework for the optimal democratic society, one that would be impartial and benevolent. However, the entire non white population is barred from sharing in these rights. One of the major ways these rights are denied is through incarceration. A look at our high rates of imprisonment might,
  • 41. Death In Mary Oliver s Sleeping In The Forest Mary Oliver s poem, Sleeping in the Forest, presents a peaceful and vivid representation of death and its relationship with nature. As the poem begins, the reader is introduced to the earth welcoming the speaker back into the realm of nature. Man was created from the dust of the earth and when we die, our bodies return to the dust. However, this poem presents a more beautiful image of what death is composed of. Death is often portrayed as being frightening and disturbing. When individuals are presented with the thought of death, they often push this thought away out of fear and ignorance. Everyone will die someday whether we ignore the thought of death or not. However, Oliver creates a relaxing and welcoming image for the reader on what death (ideally) is. Obviously, since Oliver is still alive, she doesn t know what death feels like. However, the way she describes death, I hope that it feels like sleeping in a forest; full of stars and enchantment. The enchantment in this poem begins by the earth welcoming the speaker back home. This speaker expresses that, She took me back so tenderly. This statement exemplifies to the reader that death is not a scary process. In this case, the earth is being portrayed as a woman. This is significant because women are often portrayed as being nurturing and caring. For the reader, this can trigger memories or ideas of who the reader would picture the earth as. Whether that be a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, etc. the reader can

The skin on my neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving. Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom floor truly

  • 44. Minimum Degree Of Negligence Probably not. Because the standard of care employed by the relevant statute is a minimum degree of care, the CWS has a burden of proving that Ms. Ryan failed to exercise more than ordinary care, and that her act was grossly negligent. The degree of negligence necessary to find an act to be grossly negligent is generally measured by the nature of the act that is willful and wanton. Ms. Ryan s conduct undoubtedly demonstrates her inattentiveness and a certain degree of negligencebecause she left her very young children unsupervised in her apartment where they are only 8 and 4 years of age respectively. However, more likely than not, the court will hold that her neglectful act does not give rise to the extent of gross negligence because Ms. Ryan depended on the babysitter to show up very shortly based on the fact that she was almost always punctual. Additionally, young children often cry and it is common for a 4 year old to wet her pants regardless of the fact that a parent pays the closest attention possible to the child. Ms. Ryan will have to concede that she was careless to leave the stew simmering on the stove when she left the apartment, yet, the court will likely find that this was not done willfully and wantonly as she intended to prepare the dinner for her children to ensure that they were going to be fed.... Burmese Pythons Problems Burmese pythons are an invading species that are causing problems to the local animal population, the local ecosystems, and the people in the area of Florida s Everglades. These snakes are one of the biggest snakes in the world and grow up to be twenty three feet long and weigh up to two hundred pounds. They are able to hunt in the dark due to the chemical receptors on their tongues and heat sensors all over their jaw. This is bad for humans, as we cannot see very well in the dark. This can cause the snake to see us, but us not be able to see them. Without natural predators, these animals are lean, mean killing machines that can destroy many populations of animals and stand as a threat to humans. An invasive species is a species that comes out of its natural environment, and enters another. These animals are usually very bad for the ecosystem and may cause an unbalance. These animals usually come in with many competitive advantages and can easily dominate any competition. This will give them the ability to eat as much as they would like without being threatened in any way. This could possibly diminish many populations and end an entire ecosystem. These Burmese Pythons cause problems to three main elements. One main problem that the Burmese Pythons are causing is a decrease in the local animal populations. Unsurprisingly, the two brothers began to experiment together. Their work led to the discovery of piezoelectricity which is the electric polarization caused by compression or expansion of crystals in a specific direction (Bailey). The brothers conducted more experiments to further study the new phenomenon. They also learned that crystals are compressed when an electric field is applied. Alternating currents could make the crystals vibrate at high ultrahigh frequencies. Today s sound equipment is based in this phenomenon. The piezoelectric quartz balance was invented by Pierre and Jacques. Their invention made the way for modern quartz watches and radio transmitters (Bailey). Years later Pierre took up a new job at the School of Industrial Physics and Chemistry in Paris. When Pierre first started teaching he wasn t much older than his students. He struggled to make new friends due to his shy and reserved nature. However, after working closely with him, Pierre s students came to admire and respect him (Bailey). He didn t have his own laboratory in which to work, and at the institution space and equipment was scarce. The US government put AUC on its list of terrorist organization on September 2001. Chiquita brand international is a pioneer in the globalization of the banana industry, where bananas are not only a serious business, but it is a representation of economic, social, political, and legal difficulties. From the perspective of Chiquita s Columbian subsidiary, Banadex S.A., they first began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property and its employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order to save their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the responsibility of the company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel they were in the right when they started making the payments at first. This was not a safe time because during the period of mid 1960s, Columbian civil war and armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the emergence of powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover, there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and were involved in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as well as attacks on political and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe protection from the political and war world around them. It made sense at that time
