3. NEED FOR TELE-RADIOLOGY
 The tele-radiology services mainly took birth due
to imbalance between demand and availability in
radiological services.
 Timely diagnostic services during emergency
hours.
 To overcome the deficiency of radiologist in the
rural areas and by enhancing the interaction
between experienced personnels in larger cities.

4. HISTORY OF TELE-RADIOLOGY
 1996- a private sector company named “Jankharia
Imaging in Mumbai used to transfer radiographs from
radiological center’s to doctor’s home initially.
 1997-Annual Congress of the Indian Radiology and
Imaging Association (IRIA) in 1997, where they
demonstrated the transfer of radiological images from
a Siemens AR.C scanner to the conference site.
 2002-The first tele-radiology company“TELE-
RADIOLOGY SOLUTIONs” emerged and where
indian tele-radiologist and US based tele-radiologist
interpreted different radiological images across the
globe.
