Rim s Research In Motion
Research in Motion (RIM) is known as a multinational telecommunications establishment which is
responsible for designing, manufacturing and marketing the wireless solution for the
telecommunication and mobile markets, especially its Blackberry lines. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina,
2013) RIM was first founded and owned by Mike Lazaridis in 1985 and Jim Balsillie had joined the
company as a co chief executive later in 1992. The company was seriously affected by the launch of
iPhone in 2007. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) The market share of Blackberry has been dropped
from 20% to 5%. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) In 2011, RIM s stock price significantly dropped
by 75 %, following with the launches of a collective of lukewarm products, and declines in share.
Following the resignation of many shareholders, the two founders, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie,
then have been replaced and RIM has been taken over by Thorsten Heins. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina,
2013) According to Heins, the current issues that RIM is facing have nothing to deal with the original
strategic plan, and it is all about marketing and communication. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013)
Also, to prove for his points, Heins has emphasized on the significant improvements at RIM which is
debt free and holding $2.9 billion cash on hand. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) Heins has predicted
the big turnaround for RIM will happen at the moment that the Blackberry 10 launches into the
market. (Burr,

Battle Of San Jacinto Research Paper
Battle of San Jacinto
The Battle of San Jacinto was the last battle of the Texas Revolution. And it s also the shortest battle in
history, it was only 18 minutes long!! But it was also like the most important battle of the revolution
because they caught Santa Ana and won. It s also really cool...kinda because they like ambushed the
Mexican Army while they were resting. The Battle was also fought with anger because of all the
massacres that happened before The Battle of San Jacinto. So that might have affected the battle too.
But first, let s talk about how this happened, so the most important battles that affected this was The
battle of The Alamo,Goliad Massacre, and The Battle of Gonzales. They were important because these

Warehouse Advantages And Disadvantages
3. Type of warehouse
3.1 On the basis of Structure
Warehouse are built in different ways to meet the special requirement for storage. Different
warehouses are constructed for specific goods. While selecting the types of warehouse, one has to take
into consideration the factors like the nature of goods, the quality and the climatic condition. From the
point of view of structure, the following types of warehouses are found:
 Classical Warehouses
 Silo
 Bins
 Elevator
 Portable Warehouse
 Automatic Warehouse

A public warehouse is also known as duty paid warehouse.
Public warehouses are very useful to the business community. Most of the business enterprises cannot
afford to maintain their own warehouses due to huge capital Investment. In many cases the storage
facilities required by a business enterprise do not warrant the maintenance of a private warehouse.
Such enterprises can meet their storage needs easily and economically by making use of the public
warehouses, without heavy investment.
Public warehouses provide storage facilities to small manufacturers and traders at low cost. These
warehouses are well constructed and guarded round the clock to ensure safe custody of goods. Public
warehouses are generally located near the junctions of railways, highways and waterways.
They provide, therefore, excellent facilities for the easy receipt, despatch, loading and unloading of
goods. They also use mechanical devices for the handling of heavy and bulky goods. A public
warehouse enables a businessman to serve his customers quickly and economically by carrying
regional stocks near the important trading centres or markets of two

Examples Of Causative Verbs
Causative verb is used when talking about something that someone else did for another person. It
means that the subject caused the action to happen, but didn t do it themselves. Maybe they paid, or
asked, or persuaded the other person to do it. Causative verbs express an action which is caused to
happen. In other words, when someone has something done for me him cause it to happen. In other
words, he does not actually do anything, but asks someone else to do it for him. This is the sense of
causative verbs. Intermediate to advanced level English learners should study the causative verb as an
alternative to the passive voice (Dixon, R.M.W. 2000b:87).

In The devil made me do it. the verb made causes the do to happen. Here is a brief list of causative
verbs, in no particular order: let, help, allow, have, require, allow, motivate, get, make, convince, hire,
assist, encourage, permit, employ, force. Most of them are followed by an object (noun or pronoun)
followed by an infinitive: She allows her pet cockatiel to perch on the windowsill. She hired a
carpenter to build a new birdcage (Ibid:65 68) . Three causative verbs are exceptions to the pattern
described above. Instead of being followed by a noun/pronoun and an infinitive, the causative verbs
have, make and let are followed by a noun/pronoun and the base form of the verb (which is actually an
infinitive with the to left off). Causative verbs also indicate that some person or thing helps to bring
about a new state of affairs In other words, a causative verb shows that someone or something
somehow causes something to happen. The verb might be strong in meaning and imply force. The

Audience Response to Macbeth
The human condition has been explored throughout time and its study has primarily allowed us to
learn from our past and develop as people. The Elizabethan era is very different from the world today
as our values and beliefs have changed to suit our level of knowledge and intelligence. These
differences become clear when exploring an audience s response to William Shakespeare s Macbeth,
from the Elizabethan era and today. The text was written in 1606 and was set in Scotland. The tragedy
construes what egotistical ambition can do to the mind. Key themes of loyalty and betrayal, the
increase in intelligence of humans, the way laws govern society and the balance in power between
genders affect an audience s response to Macbeth. Specifically ... Show more content on

And most of us can understand why magic and witchcraft is a myth due to education and science that
can explain things like bad weather through Earth rotation, pressure, temperature, etcetera. So
responses from today s era towards the witches would be that of amusement through the language
used, Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog... As time passes, humans evolve
which allows a difference to appear from responses to the witches from the 16th century and now.
Lady Macbeth s role of manipulating Macbeth and encouraging him to kill Duncan invites the
audience to make an assessment on her character as to whether they should feel empathy or outcast
her as a psychotic, control freak. Elizabethan people lacked understanding of the meaning of murder
and couldn t comprehend that those guilty were not always the one who committed the crime. An
audience from today can generally accept that even though Macbeth killed Duncan and the guards,
Lady Macbeth is guilty too because she was an accessory. Elizabethan audience would not be able to
deduce this meaning their reaction wouldn t be as extreme. However, many Elizabethan men
responded slightly disgusted and shocked because of the way Lady Macbeth dominated her husband.
The text would draw this type of a reaction because it was considered a part of culture, that women

The Problem With 24 Hour News
Dustin Wisby English II Ms. Stewart 9 21 2014 The Problem with 24 Hour News biasness of each
During any breaking news segment on any 24 hour news coverage channel there seems to always be
problems and mistakes that are made by reporters for not having the correct information on the story.
Also when there is no significant stories to report on there seems to be a cycle of information that each
news channel tries to throw at you. Examples of this would be presidential stories, repeating stories
over and over, and so on. Just imagine if one had to have something to say constantly about anything
and everything they could find. Would that not get annoying listening to one person speak all day
every day about anything they could find. So why do we have these problems and is it even good for
the people of the United States to have twenty four hour news channels? At the beginning of television
news an arrangement existed between television journalists and the public. It was look at as that in
modern times promotion journalism was normal. The United States was the modern, broadminded
leader of the free world. When Walter Cronkite reported on the daily count of deaths of American
soldiers in Vietnam, in lead to the antiwar disapprovals of the 1960s. One man changed how the
United States look at the war with his power and influence to change people opinions. (Mann) With
rise of CNN, the first 24 Hour News, in the early 1980s continued practice of promotion journalism.

The Banjo History
The banjo is known for its rich and vast history and has evolved throughout the years to what we now
call the modern banjo. The banjo is a string instrument that can be plucked or strummed and has a
long neck with a circular sound table at the end usually called the head of the banjo. Though the
modern banjo is different than its African predecessor, it still has many similarities holding true to its
African folk origins. There is no doubt that the banjo, known largely as an American instrument,
maintains an place as the core of both African and North American American culture.
The banjo s oldest ancestor dates back thousands of years ago. In fact, Jay Odell, a Grove Music

the style and may have been the first to use it. (Winans and Kaufman, pg. 8) During the 1860 s the
English began to add extra strings to the already popular five string banjo so that there were now
banjos that has seven, eight, or nine strings. The extra strings included bass and thumb strings that
were supposed to be plucked. Though this addition to English banjos was accepted by most
professional banjo players, by the 1890 s professional musicians decided to return to predominantly

Theories of Management
Theories gave organizations a framework for knowledge and a guide to achieving their goals. The
Industrial Revolution prompted the need for better supervision of workers to boost productivity within
the automobile, steel, and coal industries. It is because of this need that the various theories of
management began to take shape. The classical management theory, which came about during the
Industrial Revolution, focused on the single best way to perform and manage tasks. This enabled
factories to operate year round and mass production of goods. But as the revolution went on, the
factories divided into separate schools of thought regarding management yet still considered it to be a
part of classical. The emphasis on manufacturing and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
robberies, burglaries, and car thefts. It is from that information that supervisors can determine the
areas that require more police presence. Most law enforcement agencies are made up of subsystems
that allow the agency to function. These subsystems, such as the Detective Bureau, Administrative
Bureau, Service Bureau, and Uniform Patrol Bureau all operate together as a whole which is what the
systems school approach to management is based on. The managers of each of the bureaus are aware
of the others function and communicate often. This is important so that the plans of one bureau do not
negatively affect those of another. When an agency joins forces, so to speak, with an outside agency it
s known as synergy. It increases the effectiveness of the cooperation. The systems approach tells
managers to keep employees focused on the objective so that overall goals can be met. The
contingency school theory is when those in management use approaches or take actions depending on
that particular situation. This theory supports suing all or parts of past theories to solve a problem.
Law enforcement utilizes this approach on a daily basis. Officers respond to calls for service in which
they are expected to rectify. They use their years of experience and training along with past incidents
of similarity and decide on what actions are necessary to take. The contingency school is based on

Fast And Slow By Daniel Kahneman
In selected chapters of Thinking, Fast and Slow, Daniel Kahneman challenges the traditional
economic utility model by presenting the prospect theory, where pecuniary variables are no longer the
only determinants. George A. Akerlof and Richel E. Kranton support this challenge by providing two
economic analysis models that include identity as an important variable. While Kahneman focuses
primarily on individuals inability to make decisions based on profit determined utility values, Akerlof
and Kranton emphasize that motivation associated with identity is the missing component of the
traditional utility model.
In order to demonstrate flaws of the traditional view, Kahneman supports three principles of prospect
theory with various examples. First, by pointing out errors in Bernoulli s model and the indifferent
model, Kahneman emphasizes the broad range of the reference point, that it is not only the change of
wealth, but also the context and the mindset. Second, Kahneman analyzes loss aversion, one of the
dominant mindsets. Third, Kahneman argue that sensitivity has great impact on decision making by
providing gambling cases of rare and risky events. With the knowledge of these three principles,
Kahneman further implies that people can be trained to against these intuitive system one thinking
patterns.
While acknowledging the limitation of the prospect theory, that it fails to deal with disappointment
and regret, Kahneman neglects the effect of emotions that human

A variety of classic sound effects replicated the projection on screen in order to specify even further
the actions being performed such as using the telephone, riding in an elevator, arriving at a train stop,
and driving in a car. The sound effects created a connection to a more traditional sense of theatre
amongst the new technological addition of projectors. With the busyness of the opening scene, a
spotlight was used to appear on each actor as they spoke. This made it clear to the audience where
they should be looking and it lessened the overwhelming feeling of multiple people being on stage at
once. After the opening, the actors took off their own set pieces making for a quick and smooth
transition into the next scene. The cage surrounding the stage was diversely used as walls, doors, and
even an elevator. A separate cage piece was often lowered from above to divide the stage in half from
left to right when the whole stage did not need to be used. I specifically admired that many of the set
pieces had versatile purposes, such as the couch also being used as the back seat of a taxi or the front
seat of a car as other cast members pushed it around on stage in order to create the sense of driving . In
addition, the hotel lobby walls were reversible flats that were able to be living room bookcases in a

Collins uses imagery in his poem Writing in the Afterlife in order to express his perception of the way
the afterlife looks. The poem, Writing in the Afterlife is about the narrator/speaker talking about their
perception of what heaven looks like to them. Then the poem goes into more precise detail as to the
narrator/speaker actually entering into heaven. The way Collins could possibly relate the poem to his
actual life is his perception of heaven, may have seen heaven in his past life, or someone he knows
may have seen heaven in their past life. But more towards the end of the poem, he compares mentions
his writing to be heavenly, in a sense because he mentions the writing is peaceful like heaven to him.
The way imagery relates to Collins poem, Writing in the Afterlife is by Collins describing heaven. For
example, Collins says, I imagined the atmosphere would be clear, / shot with pristine light,/..the air
ionized as before a thunderstorm./ (Lines 1, 2, 4). Collins may have also written this poem in order to
become at peace with the loss of his parents because he says, I knew I would not always be a child/
with a model train and a model tunnel/ (Lines 9 10). As a result, Collins is able to use imagery in order
to display his perception as well as his active imagination of heaven through his poem Writing in the

Comparing Grendel And Beowulf
After reading the classic Anglo Saxon tale, Beowulf, readers find themselves engrossed in the
character of Grendel. This interest led to John Gardner s creation of Grendel, a novel that tells Grendel
s side of the story and gives readers a deeper understanding of the character s personality and morals.
While the two stories use the same characters, they are still extremely different. Beowulf s predictable
narrative and basic language make the story very easy to comprehend, while Grendel is filled with
complex phrasing and intricate characters that require intense analyzation to decipher. The analyzation
required to truly understand Grendel displays the varying audiences the stories were written for.
Grendel and Beowulf also use completely different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme coming of age is included in both compositions. Throughout Grendel, Grendel struggles to
come to terms with who he is and frequently straddles the border between adulthood and childhood.
For example, after getting stuck in a tree, Grendel cries out for his mother and then moments later
contemplates the meaning of life: The king snatched an ax from the man beside him and, without any
warning, he hurled it at me... I bellowed for my mother...I tried to tell her that happened, all that I d
come to understand: the meaningless objectiveness of the world... (Gardner 27 28). This bouncing
back and forth between a child s mindset and an adult s shows Grendel s gradual coming of age.
Beowulf s main character, Beowulf, is forced to endure many quests that challenge him not only
physically, but mentally forcing him to come of age as well. Beowulf has to question many of the
things he thought he knew, resulting in him growing wiser, much like Grendel. For example, during
his fight with Grendel, Beowulf first says he does not want the help of his Thanes, but when Grendel
starts to beat him, his Thanes are forced to step in (Beowulf Lines 80 100). This teaches Beowulf that
he needs to accept help in the end and does not always have to accomplish things on his own,
something he uses to his advantage in later battles. Altogether, both Grendel and Beowulf

The Ford Motor Company is a global automotive industry. It manufactures and distributes vehicles
across the world. The Firm also owns other automobile brands which include Volvo and Astin Martin
(Ford, 2008: 1). Ford is currently the fourth largest automaker in the world based on number of

the management challenges that Ford Motor faces is it must be prepared to address the fierce
competition from other companies within and outside the country.
In order to compete, the company must be ahead on cost, quality and service. Also Ford has to

Hosseini exercises societal conflicts between Hazaras and Pashtuns in his novel to illustrate how
internal conflicts can develop characters. Individuals are affected by the views of the society they are
raised in and these views often cause tension between characters. Hosseini s characters often face
internal conflict, which is important for characterization since internal struggles make characters more
personable and lifelike. The author stated, The following week, after class, I showed the book to my

Essay about NAT TURNER
Nat Turner
Early in the morning of August 22,1831, a band of black slaves, led by a lay preacher named Nat
Turner, entered the Travis house in Southampton County, Virginia and killed five members of the
Travis family. This was the beginning of a slave uprising that was to become known as Nat Turner s
rebellion. Over a thirty six hour period, this band of slaves grew sixty or seventy in number and slew
fifty eight white persons in and around Jerusalem, Virginia (seventy miles east of Richmond) before
the local community could act to stop them. This rebellion raised southern fears of a general slave
uprising and had a profound influence on the attitude of Southerners towards slavery. ... Show more

massacre of blacks in Southampton began. Much of this torture and killing of blacks was done by
outrageous groups of white men , bent on revenge. Hundreds of blacks were killed, most of whom
were totally innocent of any involvement on total clue of Turner s rebellion.
On October 31, Benjamin Phipps, a local farmer, spotted Nat Turner at gun point hiding behind a
bush. Tuner was then later placed in jail where he confessed. On November 5, Turner was convicted if

The Impact Of Transformative And Social Constructive...
Nursing education is designed to offer students the opportunity to become practitioners who are able
to connect theories into practice in ways that result in quality patient care. Consequently, Nurse
Educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for the role of the graduate nurse,
including not only the theoretical foundations of practice but the technical skills and performance
behaviors necessary for their role in caring for patients with complex needs (Klein, 2006). Moreover,
educators often apply a variety of learning theories that foster behavioral change, motivate and
empower the nurse to form appropriate partnership with patients to promote quality care. Partnership
in care shifts the focus to the patient as the expert and leader of his/her own health care while the
nurse acts as a facilitator of health care. The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze how the
application of transformative and social constructive learning theories impacts adult learning
outcomes; and the resultant role in guiding nurses and patients to forge an effective partnership in
care.
Transformative Learning Theory
Jack Mezirow is credited for developing transformative learning theory. This theory maintains that the
manner in which learners understand their sense and skills is vital in developing meaning that supports
learning (Instructionaldesign.org, 2014). According to Mezirow s theory, there are two types of
learning: communicative and instrumental learning. While

Trotsky And The Soviet Revolution
Everyone is a product of their circumstance, yet, important individuals can shape events within their
times. The statement individuals are a product of their times can be related to Leon Trotsky a Marxists
revolutionary whom is famous for his participation in the upheaval of Tsarist Russia throughout the
early nineteen hundreds. Born into a period of turbulent social and political change due to the Russian
industrial revolution, Trotsky was shaped by his context and events in his early life. However, it is to a
greater extent that Trotsky was a significant player and shaper of events within his later life. Trotsky
cemented himself as an important Historical figure who was a product of their time due to his
participation in Russia s revolution and the series of important events leading to the revolution, his
ability to successfully lead an army of over 5 million in the Russian civil war, intellectual literature on
Marxism and revolutionary powers and his position as a Commissar of War. Though this statement
was not always relevant to Trotsky, during the struggle for power in the 1920s he was decimated by
Joseph Stalin whom had far great ability to politically maneuver his way to power. Trotsky has also
been criticised for his inability to formulate realistic policies during the industrialisation debate of the
1920s. He continued to espouse permanent revolution at a time when such a policy had little prospect
of success. Trotsky s life after exile proved to be irrelevant

Comparing Enuma Elish And Genesis
Enuma Elish and Genesis have the strongest connection in their first lines In the beginning vs. When
on high, because both Marduk and God essentially speak things into existence however in different
ways. The Enuma Elish starts with Apsu who represents fresh water and Tiamat who represents salt
water, the father and mother of the gods respectively. Apsu wants to kill his children due to the noise
they bring. While Tiamat attempts to protect them, their son Ea, chief of the gods, kills Apsu in his
sleep. Tiamat seeks revenge and Marduk, the son of Ea is chosen to fight against Tiamat and Kingu.
Marduk fights Tiamat and kills her. Then Marduk cuts the body of Tiamat in half, one half is used to
create the heavens, and the other half is the earth. He then creates the stars and assigns the gods to
regulate the cosmos. The gods soon complain of fatigue therefore Marduk uses the slain blood of

Intro Thesis
In our society people interact with the banking industry everyday. As of 2014 the industry had
revenues of $426 billion (IBIS, 2014). Monetary policy effects how citizens and corporations
approach the economy. Banks have the ability to influence monetary decision making of each
individual causing change in the state of the economy. Following is a discussion of how banks affect
behavior of people in the economy.
Role in the Market
Banks play a huge role in the market. Their monetary policies can increase or decrease the amount of
spending in the economy. The Federal Reserve Bank, the United States central bank, has the most
power of all banks. It is considered to be the bank s bank. It was established by an act of congress in
1913, which created the Federal Reserve System. This system regulates the banks in the economy.
Since the Fed has so much control its policies directly influence all banks. This is typically steered by
the interest rates.
What Causes Interest Rates to Fluctuate? As stated before interest rates are influenced by many
different factors, bank rates in general, follow policy changes, bank rates also change in response to
market conditions, independently of changes in the official target rates (Lim, 2013). For example the
financial crisis in 2008, caused by the housing market, resulted in tight credit conditions and high
interest rates.

Analysis Of Katherina In The Taming Of The Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew , has without a doubt concentrated on the taming of the play s fundamental
character, Katherina. With the Renaissance move towards logic and reason, civilizing citizens is a
noteworthy concern in Shakespeare s play. Katherina s human advancement along these lines comes to
fill in as a model not just for the other ladies of the play, but also the audience (Detmer, 275). The play
turns into a model for investigating Renaissance changes in the society concerning sexual orientation
roles as well as the presence of those roles in public. The taming of the shrew and domestic violence
elucidates a more up to date feminist point of view that perceives Katherina s taming as domestic
abuse (Mulherin, 52). Losing some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Refined men did not beat their spouses, but rather utilized more sensible strategies to declare control.
As found for Petruchio s situation, policy was utilized to assume complete control over Katherina and
included debilitating and confinement. At the point when Katherina slaps Petruchio in Act two Scene
one, Petruchio s quick reaction is simply the risk of viciousness however not savagery itself. I ll swear
I ll sleeve you in the event that you strike once more, he says (Shakespeare et al, 21). He at that point

cells, fat cells, mature blood forming cells, and tissue that support cell growth. Leukemia is the
production of abnormal white blood cells which fight off infections (). In the bone marrow, the process
of the blood stem cells developing into new blood cells is when the cells become either lymphocytes (

M. (2010). Internet Use and Child Development: Validation of the Ecological Techno Subsystem.
Educational
Technology Society, 13 (1), 176 185.
Johnson and Puplampu recently proposed the ecological techno subsystem, a refinement to
Bronfenbrenner s theoretical organization of environmental influences on child development. The
ecological techno subsystem includes child interaction with both living (e.g., peers) and nonliving
(e.g., hardware) elements of communication, information, and recreation technologies in immediate or
direct environments.
Imperial data for this study was collected using a questionnaire that was issued to 128 parents to give
information about their children cognitive development and the use of technology at home. This
investigation reveals that, the home internet use accounted for more of the variance in children s
cognitive development than did indices of socioeconomic status. The ecological techno subsystem
furthers our understanding of environmental influences on child development by emphasizing the
impact of digital technologies on cognitive growth during childhood. Generations in conversation

beautiful models and actress on cover of Vogue or on billboards all over Hong Kong these days. Most
of them have flawless skin, showing off their long toned legs, flat tummy and body with no cellulite. It
is understandable that they suppose to look good as they pose for magazine or advertise for slimming

flawless, those girls do not even have pores or a single wrinkle. Even the model herself confused by

Sometimes it s a struggle to keep up with my own photos, where the lighting is perfect, the makeup is

Critical Analysis of Mrs. Mallard s Emotions in The Story...
Write a critical analysis of any aspect of The Story of an Hour which you found of interest and

Kate Chopin s `The Story of an Hour is a short yet complex piece describing the feelings of Mrs
Mallard. This story is overflowing with symbolism and imagery. The most prominent theme here is
the longing for freedom. Chopin focuses on unfolding the emotional state of Mrs Mallard which can
be separated into three stages: quickly moving to grief, through a sense of newfound freedom, and
finally into the despair of the loss of that freedom.
`The Story of an Hour was written in the nineteenth century and during this time highly restrictive

will feel genuine grief upon hearing of the death of her husband. Here, Mrs Mallard s reaction portrays
the extent to which her thirst for freedom was strong. Kate Chopin allows us to visualise the moment

her husband s death. Much emphasis is laid on her joy upon finding freedom there would be no one to

The Problem Of Homeless Heroin Injectors For A 10 Year Period
The public rarely pays close attention to homeless people on the streets. There is one kind of
homelessness that have dedicated their lives to heroin; these people call themselves righteous

heroin injectors for a 10 year period in Edgewater Boulevard. Through various interviews with the
addicts, we came to find out their shocking personal histories that led to their addiction and
homelessness. These Edgewater homeless came from different ethnic backgrounds, however, they
shared two common things; all of them were homeless and were addicted to heroin. They lived in
dead end alleyways, storage lots, vacant factories, defective cars, and highway embankments (4). The
reason they labelled themselves as righteous dopefiends was because believed they were worthy in
society, despite their actions. Going through ceaseless pain and anxiety of hunger, exposure, infectious
diseases was reasonable to them because of their commitment to heroin (5). Throughout my paper, it
will show that medication has an important implication in the lives of the homeless heroin injectors.

Corporate Strategy As I mentioned above, Mondelez was created to fit a need that Kraft Foods Inc.

company was not much different from that in 2007 when they became independent. It is the belief of
the company s upper management and board that the reason for their stagnation was due to the fact
that their corporate strategy was not focused on the growth of the company. This changed in 2012
when Kraft teamed up with Mondelez International Inc. Mondelez International s strategy was
directed at exploiting its powerful brands of snack foods across the 165 country markets where its
products were sold. (Gamble, 2016) The company aimed to fulfill their strategy by expanding the

The Identity Of The National Community
Migrants, despite their separate collection of lifestyles, have a common need to negotiate their
inclusion into the national community that dissimilar to that of their ethnic heritage. Strategic
representation is needed to collaborate their identities as migrants with their claims to inclusion. Of
course, some migrant children born in their parents host country may find themselves at odds with the
previous generations methods, and struggle to make themselves out as people who grow alongside the
national community. Ultimately, it is a matter of what migrants and their children intend for
themselves in terms of character and identity that enables them to form a deliberated relationship with
the neighboring locals. There are always distinctive ways of going about cultivating the migrants
status as outsiders, or people who do not belong amongst the locals, whether or not they realize it,
Migrants collaborate their individual and collective representations of belonging accordingly with
what they intend for themselves to be while taking into account the isolating perceptions of the present
national community.
Before anything else, it is vital to understand that the individual and collective representations of
belonging go beyond that of simple political adaption. Rather, should the migrants find themselves
developing a need to represent their communities, then it is clear that their new environment pressures
reexaminations and, perhaps, changes of personal identities. If

Super Cavitation Research Paper
What is super cavitation? To understand this question another needs to be asked. This question is what
is cavitation? Cavitation is the forming of small pockets of gas under water. These gas pockets are
formed when an area of low pressure is created at a constant temperature which in turn forms gas
bubbles that then rapidly collapse with immense force and heat. The heat and pressure of the
collapsing cavitation bubbles can reach up to 5,000 degrees Celsius and 1,000 atmospheres or in other
words almost the same amount of pressure as there is at the bottom of the ocean. Cavitation is a
serious problem when looking at underwater machinery that can form and area of low pressure. This is
because if cavitation occurs damage will be done to the machines. When cavitation occurs the heat

As was stated above it is caused in several different ways. One is through heat evaporating water
creating a gas pocket. Another is through pure speed and shape. The final is using propellers to form
areas of low pressure to start cavitation and form a super cavity. All of these methods work and there
is no real way to argue which method is the best as there are more ways currently being created but all
of them work it s just a matter of find out how to make them work efficiently. Using heat to vaporize
water could work but only if there is a method to deliver enough heat fast enough and for a long
period of time otherwise it will only work for a short distance. Propellers could work on a greater
scale but they would have to get increasingly larger and more powerful as size went up. Speed and
shape alone could also work but a source of speed such as a rocket is needed and the source of the
speed also must last a long time otherwise the object will only be able to travel short distances. Only
time and more experimentation will create a more efficient form of super cavitation that is easily
created and

father is an unsuccessful inventor. What makes Stanley feel really unlucky is that he s being punished
for a crime he did not commit. Stanley did not steal Clyde Livingston s shoes. He happened to be

In the morning, I wake up early, hungry, bony, and weak. My mama can t afford breakfast like you
can. Nothing lives here, so we are lucky if we find a few strands of grass.
Today, my mama found a few bright red seeds. We tried to eat them, but we were too weak to crack
them open. The sun had made them as hard as pebbles. We are still hungry.
Mama and my sister, Heyla, made necklaces, pretending the seeds were beads. They really did look
wonderful, but Mama knew we had to sell them.
I walked with Heyla, barefoot, on the rock covered ground. It had cracks in it from all the heat and
sunlight. Heyla and I panted to the village miles away, the stones and solid pieces of dirt sticking
painfully into our feet. The kids in the village had food and shoes. They even had schools and homes.
They were lucky.
Heyla entered the village gates first, but we both gasped at its sight. It looked like a paradise to us. All
those things. . . .
I wish we could live here, Heyla. Mama would be so much happier, I told my sister.
She nodded, but didn t answer. We both knew we couldn t afford life here. Ever since Papa died, the
villagers kicked us out.
At first when the villagers saw

Traveling In Tennessee Research Paper
Traveling in Tennessee
The state of Tn has much to offer. There is so much entertainment and fun things to do that getting
bored is not an option. From malls to parks the fun never ends. Places such as Dollywood and
Dollywood Splash Country, Ripley s Aquarium and the Knoxville Zoo, are just the beginning.
Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg alone there are places on the road to stop and always have a
good time, racing at a nascar go kart raceway to laser tag. Finding something to do is just as easy as
walking down the sidewalk. If the shopper in you wants to let go then you will enjoy the little outlet
malls and specialty shops along the way. For the sportsman in your family, fishing is not far away
either. Down the road a few miles is lakes

Functionalist Perspective On Divorce
Divorce is such a personal and common thing in America. There are so many couples who go through
the act of divorce every day. According to Kanewicher and Harris (2014), forty to fifty percent of
couples will end in divorce within the first few years of marriage. Divorce is the legal dissolution of a
marriage by a court or other competent body. There are many factors that may lead couples into
divorce. Some of those factors are, marrying too young, low education levels and overall just lack of
preparation (Kanewischer, 2015). Although divorce is common now, it was not like this back in the
late 1900 s. Divorce was not allowed and most of the time people did not want to get divorce because
of all the time and effort they put into their marriage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In general, children from divorced families did have more behavioral problems than children from non
divorced families. They continue to struggle with the behaviors well into their adolescence stage and
into their adult stage (Weaver, 2015). It makes maintaining relationships and trusting others difficult.
There are three different theoretical perspectives. Functionalist perspective, which emphasizes the way
in which the parts of a society are structured to maintain its stability. Functionalists see the
contribution that it makes to society. The conflict perspective, assumes that social behavior is best
understood in terms of tension between groups over power or the allocation of resources, and political
representation. The interactionalist perspective, which generalize about everyday forms of social
interaction in order to explain society as a whole (Schaefer). In the topic of divorce, it seems as if the
functionalist perspective explains it well. Most of the people get a divorce because they are unhappy
within the marriage. If the couple continued to be married it could cause more problems such as
affairs, theft, depression, etc., therefore ruining the society s stability. Both individuals would be
happier and there would be fewer dysfunctional families. Through the functionalist perspective, the
idea of divorce is

The Magna Carte, The Declaration Of Independence, And But...
Throughout out the history of the world many documents have had profound influences upon
humanity. The Magna Carte, The Declaration of Independence, and even the Communist Manifesto by
Karl Marx are examples of some of the documents that have helped to shape humanity. The Bible has
had perhaps more impact on humanity than any other Document ever written. Many people read the
Bible, but know little of the history of the Bible itself. The history of the Bible is a fascinating story of
the creation of the Bible versions seen today. Many people are familiar with at least some of the
contents of the Bible, but the average person knows little of the people, processes, and events involved
in its creation and translations.
The Bible is a collection of texts sacred to Jews and Christians. Judaism and Christianity may both use
the word Bible, however the texts included in their respective collections differ. The Bible canons of
other religions may contain other books. These books may sometimes have different divisions or
combinations. Other religious groups may include additional materials in their respective Bible canon.
The Bible is not a singluar work. In fact, many Bibles exist each with differing contents.
The history of the Bible begins with the Ten Commandments given to Moses. Some Years later God
gave Moses the written and oral Torah.
The Torah consists of the Pentateuch and the other twenty books of the Tanakh. The Tanakh contains
three subdivisions,

Acheta Domesticus Research Paper
The Aggression between Acheta domesticus males
The male Acheta domesticus show behaviors of aggression to increase their chances for reproduction
with females and improve their fitness. The resident males are more likely to win in combats against
non resident males in environments with a higher value of resources. Studies have also shown that
when female chemical cues are present, the violent behaviors in resident males increase, which leads
to better success in contests. Consequently, when the resource amount is low in a habitat and there are
no female odors, the invaders or non residents are found to be more probable to win (Buena and
Walker 2008). This suggests that information symmetry or the amount of information each male
knows about an area is a crucial part in fighting contests not only for the A. domesticus, but also for
all animals. In some situations, the Acheta domesticus increase their aggressive actions when a female
is present (Buena and Walker 2008), but it was found that the mated males, who were mounted ...

domesticus. For example, a greater level of hunger, restricted access to mates, and increased odors of
females will increase and escalate the males aggression when fighting (Brown et al. 2007). A study
done by Brown suggests that motivational symmetries change a males aggression. It was concluded
that the solitary males initiated 80% of the aggressive behaviors during fights against males who have
an unlimited access to females (Brown et al. 2007). The solitary males are more willing to increase
aggressiveness in fights over mates because they will benefit more from winning. When fighting for
females, solitary males have better mating success by a factor of 14:1. However, because females
favor males with qualities related to good competitive skills, the males aggressive behavior increases

The Fisher Effect
The Fisher Effect
To determine true return on a company s investment, the financial manager (FM) must be able to
determine the real interest the company s investments are achieving, regardless of inflation. Irving
Fisher theorized in his work The Theory of Interest: As Determined by Impatience to Spend Income
and Opportunity to Invest it? that real interest is the price at which the supply of capital is equal to the
demand for capital. The supply is dependent on peoples willingness to save and demand is dependent
on peoples willingness to invest in viable opportunities (cited in Brealey, 2005, p. 626). This can be
further approximated by the equation: n = r + i where n is the nominal interest rate, r is the real interest
rate, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
4). Long–term finances can be generated from either internal or external sources. Internal sources can
be the sales of fixed assets and funds from the company s trading activities. External sources include
the issuing of securities, preferred and common stock, bonds, and long–term loans (Kerr, 1997).
FM s must use many of the financial theories discussed above to reach an appropriate balance between
financing long term projects with outside debt. In the US, only 25% of this financing comes form new
debt or new equity (Ross, 2005, p. 400). As previously discussed, short term assets, namely cash,
finance the day to day operation of the business. Since long term financing is cheaper than short term
financing, some FM s may choose to keep enough cash in hand funded form long term sources, so
they never need to use more expensive short term borrowing. However, long term funds are typically
obtained in large blocks and this could be inefficient (Kerr, 1997).

Rim s Research In Motion Research in Motion (RIM) is known as a multinational telecommunications establishment which is responsible for designing, manufacturing and marketing the wireless solution for the telecommunication and mobile markets, especially its Blackberry lines. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) RIM was first founded and owned by Mike Lazaridis in 1985 and Jim Balsillie had joined the company as a co chief executive later in 1992. The company was seriously affected by the launch of iPhone in 2007. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) The market share of Blackberry has been dropped from 20% to 5%. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) In 2011, RIM s stock price significantly dropped by 75 %, following with the launches of a collective of lukewarm products, and declines in share. Following the resignation of many shareholders, the two founders, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, then have been replaced and RIM has been taken over by Thorsten Heins. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) According to Heins, the current issues that RIM is facing have nothing to deal with the original strategic plan, and it is all about marketing and communication. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) Heins has predicted the big turnaround for RIM will happen at the moment that the Blackberry 10 launches into the market. (Burr, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Kahneman focuses primarily on individuals inability to make decisions based on profit determined utility values, Akerlof and Kranton emphasize that motivation associated with identity is the missing component of the traditional utility model. In order to demonstrate flaws of the traditional view, Kahneman supports three principles of prospect theory with various examples. First, by pointing out errors in Bernoulli s model and the indifferent model, Kahneman emphasizes the broad range of the reference point, that it is not only the change of wealth, but also the context and the mindset. Second, Kahneman analyzes loss aversion, one of the dominant mindsets. Third, Kahneman argue that sensitivity has great impact on decision making by providing gambling cases of rare and risky events. A number of cultural aspects can impact the way an individual connects with others, and also affect how people face challenges and create relationships. Khaled Hosseini s novel, The Kite Runner, portrays the story of two boys, Amir and Hassan, who as children had a powerful friendship. As they grew, Hassan s ethnicity and religion negatively impacted the way Amir viewed Hassan and ultimately destroyed their strong bond. Hosseini used conflicts shown through the main character s development to illustrate the effect outside influences have on young individuals. • 49. Acheta Domesticus Research Paper The Aggression between Acheta domesticus males The male Acheta domesticus show behaviors of aggression to increase their chances for reproduction with females and improve their fitness. The resident males are more likely to win in combats against non resident males in environments with a higher value of resources. Studies have also shown that when female chemical cues are present, the violent behaviors in resident males increase, which leads to better success in contests. Consequently, when the resource amount is low in a habitat and there are no female odors, the invaders or non residents are found to be more probable to win (Buena and Walker 2008). This suggests that information symmetry or the amount of information each male knows about an area is a crucial part in fighting contests not only for the A. domesticus, but also for all animals. In some situations, the Acheta domesticus increase their aggressive actions when a female is present (Buena and Walker 2008), but it was found that the mated males, who were mounted ... For example, a greater level of hunger, restricted access to mates, and increased odors of females will increase and escalate the males aggression when fighting (Brown et al. 2007). A study done by Brown suggests that motivational symmetries change a males aggression. It was concluded that the solitary males initiated 80% of the aggressive behaviors during fights against males who have an unlimited access to females (Brown et al. 2007). The solitary males are more willing to increase aggressiveness in fights over mates because they will benefit more from winning. When fighting for females, solitary males have better mating success by a factor of 14:1. However, because females favor males with qualities related to good competitive skills, the males aggressive behavior increases to improve their reproductive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. The Fisher Effect The Fisher Effect To determine true return on a company s investment, the financial manager (FM) must be able to determine the real interest the company s investments are achieving, regardless of inflation. Irving Fisher theorized in his work The Theory of Interest: As Determined by Impatience to Spend Income and Opportunity to Invest it? that real interest is the price at which the supply of capital is equal to the demand for capital. The supply is dependent on peoples willingness to save and demand is dependent on peoples willingness to invest in viable opportunities (cited in Brealey, 2005, p. 626). This can be further approximated by the equation: n = r + i where n is the nominal interest rate, r is the real interest rate, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 4). Long–term finances can be generated from either internal or external sources. Internal sources can be the sales of fixed assets and funds from the company s trading activities. External sources include the issuing of securities, preferred and common stock, bonds, and long–term loans (Kerr, 1997). FM s must use many of the financial theories discussed above to reach an appropriate balance between financing long term projects with outside debt. In the US, only 25% of this financing comes form new debt or new equity (Ross, 2005, p. 400). As previously discussed, short term assets, namely cash, finance the day to day operation of the business. Since long term financing is cheaper than short term financing, some FM s may choose to keep enough cash in hand funded form long term sources, so they never need to use more expensive short term borrowing. However, long term funds are typically obtained in large blocks and this could be inefficient (Kerr, 1997). References Bartlett, B. (2004). Higher interest rates hardly bad news.
