Racism And Hate Exposed In The Pogrom Against The Jews
In the Pogrom against the Jews, there is an incredible underlying tone of pure hate and racism. Clearly
they do not wish to taint the Russian Blood that makes up their civilization. The thought of any Jews
interrupting their day of the lord on Easter was greatly frowned upon and would likely result in a
massacre according to the script. A sense of irony is present when they talk about the Jews and their
hatred towards them and their lord and savior, when he himself was a Jew. They strongly believed that
any other race or religion that came into their country would taint everything that their hard working
Christians had built up. They had a very specific way that they all Intended to run Russia and keep its
political status. The center of

Characteristics Of The Wizard Of Oz
The cyclone had set the house down into a country of marvelous beauty. is merely just the beginning
of the tale of Dorothy traveling through a mysterious land, making interesting friends, and eventually
slaying an evil witch. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an epic by L. Frank Baum is known by children
and adults alike all over. And what exactly makes this tale of a naive little girl an epic? The Wonderful
Wizard of Oz is an epic due to its characteristics, conventions, archetypes, and the way it follows the
stereotypical hero s journey.
Epic characteristics, conventions, and hero characteristics are what make up the epic, The Wizard of
Oz. An epic characteristic seen in the book is how broad the setting is. Throughout Dorothy s time in
Oz, she crosses many different lands that are all unique in their own way; such as The Land of the
East, Emerald City, The Land of the West, and more. A common convention in epics seen in the
Wizard of Oz is a formal plea or an invocation for help being said by Dorothy. In the Wizard of Oz,
Dorothy pleads for either the Wizard or Galinda to take her back home to Kansas. The hero
undertaking a quest or journey is an epic hero characteristic seen in The Wizard of Oz. In the book,
Dorothy takes on a huge quest to defeat the Wicked Witch so she can return home. Through epic
characteristics, conventions, and hero characteristics, the epic The Wizard of Oz follows the epic hero
s journey.
The Wizard of Oz first begins its epic tale of a hero with

The Significance Of The ANZAC Legend
In 1914, long term tensions between European powers sparked a detrimental global conflict known as
World War 1. During this time, Australia held a strong alliance with Britain, which meant that when
Britain declared war, Australia willingly backed its mother country to the last man and the last shilling
(Fisher, 1914). The Gallipoli campaign was one of many battles, yet its effect on Australia was most
significant. The primary goal was to capture the Dardanelles, allowing supplies to be shipped to
Russian troops in Germany (Darlington et al, 2012, p.236). After the initial attempt by naval attack
failed, another attack was planned. In 1915, 78 000 ANZAC soldiers landed on the shores of Gallipoli
possessing unique qualities. Even though this campaign was considered a military failure, an inspiring
legacy was born. Through establishing these undeniable qualities of courage, sacrifice, mateship and
endurance, and comparing them to the legend, it is evident that the ANZAC legend is an accurate
portrayal of the Australian soldiers during World War 1.
This paragraph will help analyse and define the ANZAC legend which will be proven accurate by
historical evidence. The ANZAC legend was created upon the ANZACs first arrival in Gallipoli on 25
April 1915, and firmly re established in the eight months of combat. Strong characteristics of courage,
sacrifice, mateship and endurance were displayed on the battlefield, particularly during times of
hardship. These qualities that are

Gamelan Gong Kebyar Essay
Gamelan Gong Kebyar
Gamelan is thought to come form a Javenese word gamel, which means to handle (Sumarasam 1995
:319 320). It also refers to a type of hammer particularly appropriate for metal percussion instrument
that dominate gamelan ensemble because of the way the instruments are made and played. The
instruments originated probably from northern Vietnam, where visitors brought bronze object and
technology in about 300 B.C and possibly rice cultivation technology as well. (Hood 1980: 122)
Balinese history can be viewed as four different eras. The earliest postprehistoric stage, so called
Indigenous Bali is considered to have begun during the third millennium B.C., with vast amount of
migrants from mainland Southeast ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kebyar literally means to burst up like a flower or to flare up like a match. In the book Music in Bali,
McPhee say that Kebyar can be said to be refer to cymbals and their metallic crash and the explosive
unison attack in gamelan music. (McPhee, 1966:328)
A general structure of Kebyar music is in the form of KPP. KPP is an abbreviation of
Kawitan(introduction), Pengawak(the main body) and Pengecek(conclusion). This concept are said to
be derived from culturally valued dimensions of threeness such as the concept of tri angga (an
anthropomorphism referring to the head, torso and legs), three courtyards of the Balinese temple, the
tri loka(upper, middle and lower worlds of existence) and others. Like sonata allegro, KPP is mainly
associated with a restricted classical repertoire. (Tenzer,2000:354). McPhee describes that pengawak
is essentially static in form and mood, the Pengecet is dynamically progressive, passing through
successive phases of rising rhythmic tension. (McPhee,1966:83)
Instrumentation in a Balinese Gong Kebyar is divided into 3 categories defined by its construction and
materials which are the Metallaphones, Gongs, and miscellaneous. (Tenzer,2000 :40) When all of
these instruments combines, it can range up to 5 octave. Gangsa are Metallaphones with bronze keys
that are suspended on chords

The Night Of Dawn Broke Over The Tamorian Plains, Larah...
When dawn broke over the Tamorian plains, Larah awoke alone. Both Riasean and their recent guest,
Coronados, were missing. As she started to gather her gear, Riasean appeared, wearing a frown.
Where is your friend? she asked.
He is gone, he stated in a sharp tone. Left about a couple of hours ago. We talked, very briefly.
Which way was he headed? she asked.
South, he replied, Or so he said.
You don t trust him, do you?
Riasean chuckled. Would you?
She looked earnestly at him. No.
He grabbed his saddlebags and walked over to the stable. Let s get going. We should reach Tenoach by
nightfall.

But this was was uncommon, as most buildings ranged from decrepit to inhabitable. Larah wondered
if all city dwellers had to live in such dilapidated conditions.
Riasean did not appear to share her impression. Instead, a half smile crept upon his features.
Then she smelled it. Of what exactly she could not tell perhaps horse manure, rotting garbage, sweat
or some other noxious combination. Like a dirty blanket, the stench hung in the air, invading the
senses in an unavoidable and persistent manner. She pulled the loose flap of her hood over her nose
and mouth in a feeble attempt to keep it out of her lungs.
I will take you to the Black Boar Tavern, near the river; it s about the only decent place to stay in the
city, Riasean stated. His eyes slowly panned about, a studied gaze now gracing his features. Larah
nodded between gulps of air.
As they neared the river, the sun rose to its noon perch mixing heat into the aromatic stew through
which they rode. Several times Larah eyes watered and she coughed. Even so, she derived a small bit
of comfort from Riasean also having to cover his face. The few people they passed hid in the shadows
or huddled in doorways. A few glanced up curiously but then ducked into alleys. Several times they
had to backtrack, either because of crowds or debris blocking the street.
Eventually, they reached the river, framed by buildings fronting it, small quays and row boats lazing
along the banks, where dark green water slithered along,

Total Quality Management Theory
Introduction
Most organizational management theories descend either from Frederick Taylor s scientific
management theory or from Elton Mayo s human relations model. Total Quality Management (TQM)
theory grew out of existing organizational management theories, in part, as a response to the problems
in those theories. Edwards Deming and Joseph Juran are most responsible for the development of
TQM. Deming and Juran began work on TQM in the 1930s and continued shaping the management
model into the 1990s. During the 1930s, Deming and Juran studied with Walter Shewhart who
developed Statistical Quality Control (SQC) theory. SQC argued that as quality improves, costs go
down and productivity increases. SQC provided for continuous ... Show more content on

And the goal of the TQM model is to provide a systematic way to meet customers expectations. This
orientation calls for changing the organization s focus, considering how this change impacts on
traditional performance measures, and identifying the customers and determining their relative
importance. This section will now analyze how IS Admissions might implement Total Quality
Management theory as a method of organizational effectiveness. IS Admissions a production
organization is responsible for processing applications for admission to the COT. If IS Admissions
implemented the core concepts of TQM theory identified in this essay, the office would be managed as
follows: 1. Promoting stakeholder satisfaction will be championed by the program manager. Juran
defines stakeholders and customers those who will be impacted or affected by the products and
processes required to attain the quality goals. IS Admissions should consider current and potential
customers and stake holders both internal and external. External customers or stakeholders are those
directed served by IS Admissions. Internal customers or stakeholders are the individuals or groups that
receive the results from any individual s work. An organization must meet the needs of both internal
and external customers. A cross functional work groups represented by all relevant departments will
serve in this quality planning activity. Through quality

The Global Population Is Ageing At An Alarming Rate
The global population is ageing at an alarming rate, with over eight precent of the world s population
over 65 and this number is expected to double by the year 2030 (International Federation for Social
Workers, 2012). For Huffnung et. al. (2010), late adulthood encompasses the years following 65 and is
characterised by a period of substantial decline in functioning including physical, psychological and
social. Whilst dementia is not an inevitable part of the ageing process, it has however due to the
ageing population become more prevalent within society, especially within remote aboriginal
communities (Brodaty Cumming 2010 cited in Jones Creedy 2012, p.44). Dementia does not refer to a
single disease rather, a group of symptoms specifically retaining to the cognitive impairment of
individual which later progresses to effect both physical and the social function of sufferers.
Developed by Engel (1977), the biopyschosocial model can be used to examine the progression of this
disease during late adulthood. Thus, late adulthood is seen as a period of significant change with
individual facing unique challenges in regards to development.
Dementia is an emerging global health problem, with the prevalence of this disease estimated to sit at
twenty five million people as of 2003 (Arkles et al., 2014, p.6). However, due to the ageing population
these figures are expected to double every twenty years and is estimated that by the year 2040 that

Analysis Of The Book The Spirit Catches You And You Fall...
The English translation of the Hmong phrase quag dab peg is that the spirit catches you and you fall
down. While western society knows this as epilepsy, the Hmong believe that the seizures are caused
by the presence of a dab or soul stealing spirit, which leads the soul to leave the body.1 The Hmong
consider those who suffer from epilepsy to be respectable and of a higher status. In The Spirit Catches
You and You Fall Down, the doctors and the Hmong are looking for a solution to the same problem;
how to stop Lia Lee s seizures. However, miscommunication between the doctors and the Lee family
worsens Lia s condition. There were disagreements between the family and the doctors on how to treat
Lia, and the appropriate resources to overcome these disagreements were not available. In The Spirit
Catches You and You Fall Down, Anne Fadiman shows how cultural differences and
miscommunication between the western doctors and the Lees leads to the demise of Lia Lee. The
Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down is only one example of many that shows how cultural
differences affect health. Cultural differences such as variations in beliefs, preferences, behaviors,
recognition of symptoms, and expectations of care because of one s culture, are some factors that
influence decision making and consequently, health outcomes.2 For example, the Hmong s cultural
beliefs include respecting the patient s privacy by not asking personal questions, asking them to
undress, or take blood samples,

Food Hormones and the Onset of Early Puberty
Hormones found in food is causing early puberty in adolescents. In recent news article published by
NBC News an eight year old girl started developing acne and breast. Her parents didn t know how to
cope with their daughter maturing at such an early age so they decided to take her to the doctor. There
the little girl was diagnosed with early puberty and had to be treated with drug implants to slow down
her sudden growth. Recent studies have shown that meat industry animals injected with synthetic
growth hormones such as Zeranol, Trenbolone, and Melengestrol that leads to negatives effects to the
people that consume the foods that the animals produce. Some of these hormones found in animals
can throw off the natural chemical balance and affect your hormones. If children are consuming these
foods with added hormones their natural balance may be thrown off which causes them to endure
early puberty. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) steroid implants used for
animal growth are healthy for the animals and humans who eat the meat produced from the
slaughtered animals. The FDA reports People are not at risk from eating food from animals treated
with these drugs because the amount of additional hormone following drug treatment is very small
compared with the amount of natural hormones that are normally found in the meat of untreated
animals and that are naturally produced in the human body. (par.3) If people are not at risk then why

Racial And Ethnic Diversity
How do you envision the racial and ethnic diversity of the United States thirty years from now?
Explain thoroughly. In today society, racial and ethnic diversity is an everyday thing in the United
States. Racial diversity can be seen in workplace, schools, and etc. When it comes to the future of
America people say immigrants are it. The percentage of immigrants that has entered the United States
has continued to rise everyday now. Immigrants has begun to premaster English as their second
language. Racial Diversity has been a big issue when it comes to most like; hiring and promoting
people of color. Some individuals have had to deal with not being hired because of their race or due to

People shouldn t be determined by the way they look. Not being white doesn t mean you can t make
six figures and are able to support your family. Social media was created for the enjoyment of another
or better form of communication. Minority majority on shows how mixed the world is and how so
many people feel that race doesn t portray who you are.
This trend only offends those who minorities. It only reduces social problems because it allows people
to disrespect others by basically calling them out of their names. To make things better everyone has
to be on the same page as far as communication goes. Categorizing one another as the same regardless
of the color of our skin will reduce more than Minority Majority by creating a movement towards
making a difference in the world. If the current trend remains the way it is whites will become less
than 50 percent of the population by 2042(Tom Jacobs). Coming up with more suggests or ideas on
will it would be tolerant in the near future, the increasing diversity of the nation may actually yield
more intergroup hostility (Tom Jacobs). In my opinion there may be issues with some part of the
society when it comes to the time when we are merge as one. People just have to be more
understanding an aware of other people are now starting families and receiving jobs in the united
states so it s best to start accepting and treating everyone as the same.

The Identification of Green Fluorescence Protein Tagged...
Introduction:
Information is passed between neurons and muscles through the release of neurotransmitters. These
neurotransmitters are stored in synaptic vesicles in synapses. But before they can dock at a synapse, a
motor transport known as kinesin moves the synaptic vesicles along microtubules to their final
destination in the cell. This process is known as vesicle transport.
The purpose of these experiments were to gain a better understanding of the movement of vesicles
along microtubules and the importance of this in proper nerve transmission. This was accomplished by
analyzing the phenotypes of three different strains of Caenorhabditis elegans using microscopy and a
fluorescence microscope. The organisms contained fluorescence tags on the membranes of their
synaptic vesicles to make it easier to see how the mutations affected the vesicles locations.
Wild type C. elegans should be actively moving in an s shape pattern under a microscope. Under a
fluorescence microscope, the tags should appear at the nerve ring and along the nerve cords. In the C.
elegans with a fusion defect, its movement would appear impaired and the fluorescence tags would be
more concentrated at the nerve ring. Lastly, a C. elegans with a transport defect would also have
impaired movement, but the fluorescence tag would be dispersed in patches along the length of the
entire worm.
Results:
Observation of phenotypic appearance was taken using a dissecting microscope at 50x magnification

Goodwill Balance Sheet
GOODWILL
What is the definition of Goodwill?
Goodwill is an intangible asset that mostly appears as the biggest intangible asset on the balance sheet.
The Goodwill can only be identified with the business as a whole. Therefore, the goodwill cannot be
sold individually in the marketplace, while some other intangible assets can be sold.
Goodwill is not easy to measure, because it includes exceptional management, desirable locations,
customer relations, and so on. The determination of the Goodwill is therefore most of the time very
subjective.
Companies only record the goodwill when there is an exchange transaction the involves the purchase
of an entire business.

Goodwill booking in the balance sheet
According to Harold Averkamp (2015), Goodwill is reported on the balance sheet as a noncurrent
asset.
Since 2001, U.S. companies are no longer required/allowed to amortize the recorded amount of
goodwill.
In accounting we use the word amortization to mean the systematic allocation of a balance sheet item
to expense (or revenue) on the income statement. Harold Averkamp (2015)
The amortization of an asset means that a company is allowed to split the value of the expenses stated
in the income statement over several months instead of a one time booking.
However, the amount of goodwill is subject to a goodwill impairment test at least once per year.
The companies have to verify at least once a year if the value of their assets is aligned with the fair
value of the market.
The test verifies if the value of the assets is bigger than the market value. An adjustment is recorded in
order to bring the value of the asset at the fair value in case of inequality.

The Political Environment Of The Philippines
Political Environment To begin, the political environment of the Philippines should firstly be
addressed. In the modern day Philippines, they have established a multi party democracy which has an
elected president along with its legislature. Their democracy is set up exactly the same as ours in the
United States. They have the framework of where the president is both the head of state as well as the
government in general. Similarly their system is composed of the three independent branches which
are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Under the leadership of the president, the
executive branch makes the decisions for the government/country body as a whole; Congress the
Senate and the House of Representatives, controls the legislative branch; and the Supreme Court, held
as the highest judicial body they have, is vested within the courts of the Philippines. Within their
country contrary to ours, they hold elections every three years instead of our two. These elections have
been held on the second Monday of May since 1992. The winners of these elections begin their time
in office on the following June 30th. Although the Philippines have a democracy, not all of the regions
within it have political power. Within the local government s cities, provinces, municipalities and
barangays, some regions merely exist just for the use of administrative purposes. (Doing Business In
the Philippines, n.d.).

Introduction Identity is built. Meaning must be forged, not found, when a person takes that first step
onto their path of self discovery. However, while traveling this path, one rarely arises unscathed. They
are left with scars, a documentation of their struggles, mistakes, and their pain. In literature, authors
use these scars to trace along the nerve ending and uncover what is, the history that has not only built,
but also forged meaning into their identity. Nevertheless, there is no one path to self discovery, but as
each author invents a journey; they are also providing readers with direction in the paths they
themselves must travel. Thus, this paper will examine the different cultural interpretations of ways the

changing your beliefs and intentions in life, and then seeing what else is available to you. For instance,
young people are often faced with the choice of going to college or getting a job. Travelling, starting
their own business, volunteering, joining a monastery, joining a band, or a number of other things are
choices that are out there, just not for life as they know it. However, if they break out of their mindset
and see these choices as viable, then a whole new world of choices opens up to them. Life is not black
or white. There are many different paths in life, and just because you only see a sign with two choices
on which way to go next, doesn t mean that there isn t another path with different signs that you can
jump on. You just have to find it first. 9. Live In Reality If you live a life of make believe, your life isn
t worth anything until you do something that does challenge your reality. Morgan

The Cuban Revolution Essay
After year of recruiting, training, plotting, Fidel was ready to launch his revolutionary offensive. His
rebel army consisted of less than 200 men, and two women; (Huberman 1960: 28) the group consisted
of students or graduates, and nearly all of them were young people like himself and his brother, Raúl.
Most of them were politically active, articulate and impatient young men who had been drawn to the
radical movements or to the ardently reformist Orthodox Party of Eduardo Chibas. (Macgaffey 1962:
275)
The rebels gathered outside Santiago, in the Fidel s native Province of Oriente where they could
launch an attack on Moncada Barracks, the army s second largest military installation. (Huberman

In reality, Fidel Castro failed to consult the party, informing it of his intended actions only a day
before the assault on Moncada. (Leonard 1999: 9) The attack was made; other rebels managed to enter
the barracks and overpowered the guards. However, Some of the rebels were killed on the spot, others
were captured and horribly tortured, put in jail to wait trial or murdered in cold blood (Huberman
1960: 28) Other rebels including Fidel Castro and his brother, Raúl fled to the mountains. (Hampsey
2002: 94)
Within the high army ranks, orders were given privately to their men that leader of the rebels that
Fidel Castro was not to be taken alive. (Huberman 1960: 29) Ironically, Lieutenant Pedro Sarria, who
had been a student at the University of Havana when Castro was active, happened to be the head of
the army patrol that discovered Fidel in the foot hills of Sierra. (Huberman 1960: 29) Lieutenant Sarria
whispered in Castro s ear to never give his real name, or else he will be killed. With Fidel in prison,
Raúl Castro, with his men came out of their hideout and surrendered themselves. (Huberman 1960:

Although, the attack on Moncada barracks ended in disaster and the rebels did not reach their main
targets, but it was not entirely a failure. (Huberman 1960:

Old People Chapter 2 Summary
The old man begins the session like previous others by depicting a scene, which will be explained at
the end of the lesson. This scene he describes is about Barak receiving instructions from Deborah. The
young girl is confused because she believed that all the judges were men, but the old man informs her
that some stories are told more than others. From this point, the old man tells the stories related to
Joshua and Caleb, the only two adults brought out of Egypt to enter into the promised land. Joshua
replaced Moses as the leader of the Israelites, and the old man begins to tell the story of Jericho. Two
spies were sent to spy on Jericho, and they stayed at a prostitute s home. Her name was Rahab, and

Joshua and Judges are associated with the Iron Age. Tensions during this period include invasions
from Sea Peoples. Tullock informs readers that Canaan consisted of city states. The next topic Tullock
discusses is the invasion of Canaan. Tullock discusses Joshua and the story of Jericho, and the old man
s story discusses the same points Tullock does. Tullock does introduce the significance of the holy war
associated with Jericho. The disguising Gibeonites are discussed on how they were saved by a
covenant by disguising and lying to the Israelites. Tullock ends the section of Joshua s conquests by
telling the story of the five kings of the south. The division of conquered lands is explained by
mentioning that territories were represented by the tribes responsible for the conquering. Tullock then
discusses how the Canaanite religion greatly influenced the developing Israelite religion, and a reason
for the influence is due to the greater population associated with the Canaanites. From this point on,
Tullock discusses the famous judges and the themes seen throughout the book of Judges. Tullock
states that the major judges include Othniel, Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, Abimelech, Jephthah, and
Samson. Each major judge receives their own section of text discussing the stories associated with
each of them. For example, Othniel provided forty

The rate of browning could ve been even more if the bananas in the toaster oven were also kept in
their environment for 9.5 hours. The lack of partners may have made the data slightly inaccurate. For
example when the banana was placed into the water, it was shaken. When it was shaken, the banana
fragments were mixed with the water more, but after the shaking, the banana fragments clumped
together and floated to the bottom. Because the flasks could only be shaken two at a time (one for
each hand on a single person), they were not all shaken at the same time. Therefore, some flasks were
strained into water after a shorter period of time than others. Having a partner/partners could ve
enabled all the flasks to be shaken and strained into the water simultaneously.
Because the same banana was used for all five trials of each level, there might ve been more errors in
the data. If one of the bananas happened to have a mutation or something similar that caused it to not
produce the normal amount of phenolic compounds, then all of the trials for that level would ve been
inaccurate and there would ve been know way of knowing of the

lecture that day in class I was annoyed because it took me and others off guard and squandered our
time. It left me feeling as if me and my fellow students were separated based upon our races. It formed
a mental segregation in the class dividing us into our respected groups. This event did not frustrate me
because of the scholarship in itself, it was the fact that they were a government subsidised group and a
organization that practices any form of discrimination no matter if it is well intended or not should

Those With Disability Essay
Several years after Congress took steps to guarantee equal access for the disabled at the voting polls,
studies showed that in the United States during the 2012 election cycle, 1 in 5 voters with disabilities
said they were kept from casting their ballot on their own and more than half said they encountered
hurdles (Heasley). Disabilities can be defined as an impairment that may be physical, cognitive,
intellectual, mental, sensory, developmental, or a combination of impairments that causes restrictions
on an individual s ability to participate in society. With an ongoing problem in society as great as this,
many began to question how such an impactful issue can be resolved. How does one s disability affect
their political participation within society? How do one s disabilities even interfere with their ability to
cast their vote in elections? How can one take steps to further improve one s political participation
whether they have physical, mental, or psychosocial disabilities?
Currently, not much action has been taken to study or improve the conditions negatively imposed
upon those with disabilities. These critical issues will be examined in this study through the use of
peer reviewed articles, books, and legislative regulation proving their true impact on their ability to
increase political participation for those with disabilities. This study will seek to investigate if and
why the lack of money is impacting access to special equipment which inhibits citizen s ability

Human Self Deception And The Modular Mind
Wahid Murad
Professor Walker
English 110
Paper #2 assignment
16th March 2016 Human self deception and the modular mind
The model of three planes of the mind is nothing new. Sigmund Freud, the famous Austrian
psychologist was the first to make this widespread into majority of society as we know it today. Even
though his theories have from time to time been widely debated among Psychologists because they are
nearly impossible to justify scientifically, Freud nevertheless created a handy theoretical model of the
mind, which he separated into 3 tiers or sections the conscious mind or ego, the preconscious, and the
unconscious mind.
Our conscious mind is what people associate us with, as it is where most people exist and thrive daily.
The conscious mind consists of everything that we are aware of. This is the part of our psychological
processing that we can think and talk about rationally in other words this the cognitive portion.
The subconscious part of the mind, on the other hand, is in charge of our most recent memoirs, and it
is in spontaneous interaction with the resources of the mighty unconscious mind. It is the portion of
the mind that signifies regular memory. While we are not consciously aware of this information at any
given time, we can recover it and bring it into consciousness when required.
The unconscious mind is the depot of all existing memories and experiences from the past, these are
the stuff that have been bottled up through distress.. It is safe to

The Role Of Logistics Air Force ( Usaf ) Operations And By...
I. INTRODUCTION
Background The role of logistics in United States Air Force (USAF) operations and by extension
United States military operations cannot be underestimated nor undervalued. People of both
professional and academic backgrounds have spent considerable time studying and capturing the
relevant points of its application. While critical to almost all military units and corporations alike,
logistics in definition and application is not easily defined. It is an over arching word covering many
disparate topics such as supply, sustainment, production, transportation, warehousing, maintenance,
planning, and others.
The USAF implements logistics at the tactical, operational and strategic levels with the Air Force
Materiel Command (AFMC) being its largest logistics focused organization. AFMC is home to
strategic organizations such as the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) and the Air Force Life Cycle
Management Center. Organizations such as the 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing (SCOW),
logistics readiness squadrons and aerial port squadrons implement logistics at the USAF operational
and tactical level. AFMC and the agencies it commands are the USAF s primary interfaces for both
internal and external logistics support; it interfaces with suppliers such as the Defense Logistics
Agency and General Services Administration and vendors like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Kovach
Mobile Equipment.
The USAF employs a significant number of Airmen, civilian, and

Controlled Content Distribution in Peer to Peer Networks
Research Problem:
Centralized fingerprinting mechanism has an encumbrance of computational overheads and high
communication bandwidth costs. Central repository of authenticating data has also raised concerns
over the loss of privacy and potential misuse of biometric data. For instance, biometric data stored at a
central repository can be used to track individuals by checking where they visit or shop. This
centralization, when compromised, may lead to data being used for unintended purposes like
searching private information using latent fingerprints, revelation of certain health problems that may
lead to discrimination among peers, etc.
Objectives:
To develop a multicast approach to the anonymous fingerprinting problem. This will reduce
computational overheads and high communication bandwidth costs that characterize anonymous
fingerprinting.
To ensure privacy in Controlled Content Distribution in Peer to Peer Networks through the use of
advanced cryptography features of group signatures.
To provide a straightforward alternative to the conventional broadcast transmission that precludes
fingerprinting the copy obtained by each receiver.
To make data privacy a striking feature in peer to peer applications.
To achieve security and scalability in content distribution.
To provide a fingerprinting scheme that is not susceptible to

Life Styles And Income Of Individuals And Their Households
After analysing all the information it appears to me that the life styles and income of individuals and
their households will differ, in particular the gender difference that will arise between men and
women. We all understand that paid employment is a major source of every household s income and
the pay that each individual receives is greatly influenced by the type of job. Gender matters in pay
too (Callaghan :2012, p62) this shows that women in the UK on average are paid less this is due to
women are concentrated more on lower paid jobs because men are placed more in senior management
position s while women would be placed more in a secretarial and administrative role. Additional to
this, she highlights that there is an increased caring commitment taken by women and is a direct result
in the pay gap. The ageing society today does show us that on average women are more likely
expected to live longer than men. After considering all these issues, women will have a huge effect on
their financial life course. So in this essay I will discuss all about what financial consequences women
could probably face by being paid less than men, living longer and likely to become carers. While the
equal Pay Act 1970 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 had established the equal pay right for equal
work in the UK, data presented by Office for National Statistics (ONS), represents that there are still a
considerable difference in way men and women paid for example, in 2010 men earned an

Included in the 10 most influential Christians of the 20th century alongside Karl Barth, Pope John

atheist scholar who became an Anglican, an apologist, and a patron saint of Christians everywhere. He
was also dubbed as an apostle to the skeptics because he resolutely answered frequent objections
individuals had when it came to accepting Christ as their Savior (christianodyssey.com).

Everybody possesses an internal sense of moral obligation to realize the difference between right and
wrong and choose to do what is right. Lewis ascertains that the existence of this common moral
conscience, can only be the consequential result from the existence of a god who created all humans.
(about.com).
C.S. Lewis disputed for reason based Christianity as opposed to faith based Christianity. This is a
questionable decision on Lewis part because conventional Christianity is indisputably faith based.
Lewis principal readers were supposed to be skeptics and atheists rather than current believers.
Skeptics doubt for lack of reason and evidence; therefore, only reason and evidence is more likely to
draw their reconsideration. In his book, Mere Christianity, Lewis writes: I am not asking anyone to
accept Christianity if his best reasoning tells him that the weight of the evidence is against it.
(about.com).
One of Lewis most often quoted statements is from Mere Christianity, where he uses reason and logic
to introduce three possibilities to us (often known as the Lewis trilemma ). According to this trilemma,
either Jesus really was God and intentionally lying, or was not God but reckoned himself to be (which
would make him a lunatic). Mere Christianity goes on to say that the latter likelihood is not consistent
with Jesus character and it is, therefore, most likely that he was being truthful

Archetypes in Siddhartha
In analyzing the novel Siddhartha, we find that Herman Hesse has incorporated many literary
techniques to relay his message to the reader. By using various writing approaches to convey the
theme of the novel, Hesse appeals to the readers senses and aides them in grasping the novel. Included
in these techniques are symbolism, metaphor, allusion, and archetypes. He compares many issues that
Siddhartha faces to everyday objects and forces, making the novel easier to understand. Three of the
main archetypes
Hesse uses to get his point across are trees, rivers, and sleep. One of the more obvious symbols used in
the novel is a tree. Cross culturally, it is extremely common for trees to represent wisdom. In Hebrew
literature, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In several instances is the novel, Siddhartha falls asleep (the reader should also note that this usually
occurs under a tree) and wakes up anewed with a new outlook on life.
Then he had fallen asleep, and on awakening he looked at the world like a new man.... Never had a
sleep so refreshed him, so renewed him, so rejuvenated him! (76)
Just as in the traditional English story A Christmas Carol, where Scrooge goes to bed and wakes up a
new man after a series of nightmares, many authors have used the metaphor of sleep to show
emotional growth in their characters. Another case in point is Kate Chopin s book on a woman s self
discovery appropriately titled The Awakening.
Just like these authors, Hesse proves to be no stranger to this choice of symbolism. He illustrates quite
effectively and allows the reader to notice and reflect on Siddhartha s personal development on more
than one level. It is easy to see that many cross cultural themes were brought into Siddhartha.
Through writing on more than one level, Hesse has created a literary masterpiece that is extremely
deep and meaningful. The application of the symbols he chose makes some of the themes in the novel
easier to see and decipher. Using the archetypes that he did makes the novel one that many
civilizations will read and understand for generations to come. Works Cited

Guilt
Introduction
Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through human beings
and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms of
life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they are
both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to
each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory
of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over the years
evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart.
Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings
and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices.
There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary.
Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of
man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other living organisms. On
the other hand, there are actions that are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows
their consequence but goes on to do them.
Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his

Antibiotic resistance which can be defined as the ability of bacteria and other microorganisms to resist
the effects of an antibiotic to which they were once sensitive.8 Antibiotic resistance mainly results
from misuse of antibiotics which can be categorized as intensive and extended use of antibiotics in
human and veterinary treatments where antibiotics were not required and improper disposal of
antibiotics in both hospital environment and community which in turn results an environmental impact

Intrinsic resistance is achieved by spontaneous gene mutation through replication where acquired
resistance results as an adaptation technique when bacteria in contact with antibiotic. Pathogenic
bacteria can gain resistance through several mechanisms such as acquire modification of active site of
the bacteria in turn results in reduction in the efficacy of binding of the drug, direct modification or
destruction of antibiotic by enzymes produced by bacteria or efflux of antibiotic from the bacterial cell
through efflux pumps. Bacterial species accomplish spreading the resistance through horizontal gene
transfer mechanisms such as transformation, transduction and conjugation via plasmids.
Antibiotic resistance has evolved as a result of the interactions between bacteria and antibiotic after an
antibiotic exposure. Bacterial species are capable of adapting to new antibiotic as simply as they adapt
to new environments due to their amazing genomic plasticity. This in turn results antibiotic resistance
to be very dynamic and unpredictable. Every year, almost 100,000 Americans die from antibiotic
resistant infections acquired from hospitals, largely because of the reduced effectiveness of existing
drugs, due to the development and propagation of drug resistance

Management Theory Of Change Management
Introduction
Change management has been studied and researched for years with many definitions; it has been
defined by Moran and Brightman as the process of continually renewing an organization s direction,
structure and capabilities to serve the ever changing needs of external and internal customer. (Moran
and Brightman, 2001:111) It is clear that management of change is complex, dynamic and challenging
process. (Mabey, 1993) Many theories, models and techniques have been created and aim to deliver
maintainable change, but success is not guaranteed, as no model is perfect. A high demand still exists
for change literature that will identify and create a perfect change management methodology, as the
current rate of failure can be as high as 70%. (Balogen and Hope Hailey, 2004) In organizations where
change has been successful, those who were responsible for the change management have clear,
shared ideas and visions of exactly where they wanted to go and linked this closely to implementation
strategies in order to achieve the results they needed. Change is always going to exist; there is always
going to be change, regardless of industry, and it has become routine to expect change. Many
organizations are often judged on their ability to handle this change effectively and efficiently, and
since the creation and use of the World Wide Web the rate of change has increased dramatically. This
essay will identify the various types of change, reasons for resistance, and models on

Kidney Thieves Anthropology
Since 1991 one of many chilling tales, that has been told by various people in different areas of the
world which is Beware of the kidney thieves . According to this urban legend, victims awake in
immense pain in their lower back in a bathtub full of ice to discover that their kidneys have been
removed. This urban legend warns travelers, such as business men or women, that medically trained
criminals are stealing kidneys . They drug their victim at a bar or any sort of social gathering, remove
their kidneys, leave them in an unfamiliar hotel in a bathtub full of ice and sell their kidney on the
black market. Besides entertainment, this urban legend preys on our cultures tendency to blow things
out of proportion. Although there have been similar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It originally started in Europe and quickly traveled all around the world. In 1997 New Orleans had an
outbreak, and it was believed that this urban legend was to be a real story. It is unknow why this urban
legend started. In the article The Kidney Thieves an Urban Legend by David Emery states, As the city
geared up for its annual Mardi Gras festivities in January, a rumor began spreading via word or mouth,
fax, and forward email to effect that a highly organized crime ring in New Orleans was carrying out
plans to drug visiting tourists, surgically remove healthy kidneys from their bodies, and sell the organs
on the black market. As a result of this urban legend arising immensely, the local police department
were receiving calls from many people claiming their kidneys were stolen. Authorities organized an
investigation regarding these insane story, only to find no true evidence of this occurring. Even the
National Kidney Foundation had repeatedly asked for alleged victims of this crime to validate their
stories and come forward, but to this day no person has. This goes to show that there is no actual
victim of this case. If there has it turns out to be a false story just to add onto the urban

The Cause And Effects Of Climate Change And Its Causes
Natural disasters have killed more than 600,000 people and left behind trillions of dollars in damages
in the last two decades, the United Nations said Monday. (Chan) Extreme weather has caused millions
of casualties and extreme damages over the years, but lately there has been an increase in severe
weather events. This is causing problems in the US, with the amount of tornadoes rising in tornado
alley Tennessee experienced a 67 percent increase in tornado activity in 1983 2013 compared to the
1954 1983 time period. Oklahoma experienced a nearly 35 percent decrease in tornadoes in 1983 2013
compared to 1954 1983.
Climate change is defined as a change in global or regional climate patterns, in particular a change
apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of
atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. Climate change has happened as a
cycle throughout history, with ice ages occurring, and then warming. The earth naturally warms and
cools, but due to the burning of fossil fuels the rate is growing exponentially.
The climate changing was first suspected in the 19th century when scientists in britain debated
whether Europe was covered by ice in the past. Guy S Callender suggested that the warming trend
revealed in the 19th century had been caused by a 10% increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide from
the burning of fossil fuels. (Harding) The debate intensified by 2005 when a study was published

Essay about A Feminist Reading of Cheever’s The...
A Feminist Reading of The Five Forty Eight
The short story The Five Forty Eight by John Cheever concerns the issue of a woman scorned by the
inhumane treatment she has received by men, most notably that of Blake, whose oppression serves as
the turning point in her life. This generalization is often the focus of a feminist criticism. Feminists
believe that women should have equal rights as men, and they seek to correct or supplement what they
regard as a predominantly male dominated critical perspective with a feminist consciousness (Meyer
2014). In this short story, using a feminist consciousness to read the text helps to understand the
reasoning behind Miss Dent s need to defeat the idea that males dominate over women. Miss ... Show

The next day, as soon as Miss Dent was out to lunch, he called personnel and asked them to fire her.
Then he took the afternoon off (81). Blake is too much of a guilty coward to face Miss Dent after their
affairs the night before. To rid himself of his newest problem, he simply fires her although he does not
have the guts to fire her himself. As a direct result of the hurt and scorn Miss Dent has experienced
throughout her life, mainly at the hands of Blake, she is permanently troubled. While confronting
Blake she tells him, you don t know what I ve been through. I m afraid to go out in the daylight (88).
Miss Dent s experience with a monster such as Blake has left her extremely insecure and hurt.
Blake is not alone in causing Miss Dent s destruction; although, in this story he is a stereotype of all
the men in her life who have treated her the same hurtful way. Miss Dent views Blake just like every
other man in her life. Blake acknowledges the fact that he is like all men because on the train he
noticed that he dressed like the rest of [them] as if he admitted to the existence of the sumptuary laws
(82). Every man on the train, with the exception of a few, dresses the same, in non colorful clothes.
The sumptuary laws refer to the Roman laws that regulate the type of clothes worn in public. Blake is
in the majority of business class men

Weather In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Essay
THE ROLE OF WEATHER The weather in the novel acts as an emotional release for Dr. Jekyll and
his subconscious mind represented by his alter ego, Mr. Hyde. Weather is also an excellent
representation of the situational moods in the novel. The purpose of the weather is to look into other
themes of the book and expose the dual nature of the human character throughout the novel. Weather
such as fog and gloom represent the moral ambiguity Dr. Jekyll feels as his sinful nature overcome the
character of Mr. Hyde. When it is shown Dr. Jekyll forged the letter he said was from Mr. Hyde
further shows how the fog gives us an insight into moral ambiguity. While Mr. Utterson is in the
middle of Jekyll s dual nature, Mr. Utterson comments on the ... Show more content on

Hyde; whereas, the homes of the rich and respectable high class of society are associated with Dr.
Jekyll. Mr. Hyde is often seen going into a door, which is situated on a shabby street that leads into a
house described as a certain sinister block of building . The door he uses to enter the building was
blistered and distained , suggesting that it had not been cared for or maintained as it ought to have
been. With regards to weather, fogginess creates a sense of eeriness and mystery. This makes sense
because fog can conceal. It was a wild, cold, unseasonable night of March, with the wind sweeping the
streets unusually bare of passengers. Which creates a sense of mystery. but hints to violence. This
conveys an apocalyptic tone, and because the wind flecked the blood into the face exaggerates
violence, and this either frightened or obliterated the streets of London. Here, Mr. Utterson follows
Mr. Poole to see Dr. Jeykll. The absence of people conveys the loss of Dr. Jekyll as Mr. Hyde becomes
more and more dominant. Need another quote here after MR. Utterson and Mr. Poole discover

  • 2. Racism And Hate Exposed In The Pogrom Against The Jews In the Pogrom against the Jews, there is an incredible underlying tone of pure hate and racism. Clearly they do not wish to taint the Russian Blood that makes up their civilization. The thought of any Jews interrupting their day of the lord on Easter was greatly frowned upon and would likely result in a massacre according to the script. A sense of irony is present when they talk about the Jews and their hatred towards them and their lord and savior, when he himself was a Jew. They strongly believed that any other race or religion that came into their country would taint everything that their hard working Christians had built up. • 3. Characteristics Of The Wizard Of Oz The cyclone had set the house down into a country of marvelous beauty. is merely just the beginning of the tale of Dorothy traveling through a mysterious land, making interesting friends, and eventually slaying an evil witch. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an epic by L. Frank Baum is known by children and adults alike all over. And what exactly makes this tale of a naive little girl an epic? The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an epic due to its characteristics, conventions, archetypes, and the way it follows the stereotypical hero s journey. Epic characteristics, conventions, and hero characteristics are what make up the epic, The Wizard of Oz. An epic characteristic seen in the book is how broad the setting is. Throughout Dorothy s time in Oz, she crosses many different lands that are all unique in their own way; such as The Land of the East, Emerald City, The Land of the West, and more. A common convention in epics seen in the Wizard of Oz is a formal plea or an invocation for help being said by Dorothy. In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy pleads for either the Wizard or Galinda to take her back home to Kansas. The hero undertaking a quest or journey is an epic hero characteristic seen in The Wizard of Oz. • 4. The Significance Of The ANZAC Legend In 1914, long term tensions between European powers sparked a detrimental global conflict known as World War 1. During this time, Australia held a strong alliance with Britain, which meant that when Britain declared war, Australia willingly backed its mother country to the last man and the last shilling (Fisher, 1914). The Gallipoli campaign was one of many battles, yet its effect on Australia was most significant. The primary goal was to capture the Dardanelles, allowing supplies to be shipped to Russian troops in Germany (Darlington et al, 2012, p.236). After the initial attempt by naval attack failed, another attack was planned. In 1915, 78 000 ANZAC soldiers landed on the shores of Gallipoli possessing unique qualities. Even though this campaign was considered a military failure, an inspiring legacy was born. Through establishing these undeniable qualities of courage, sacrifice, mateship and endurance, and comparing them to the legend, it is evident that the ANZAC legend is an accurate portrayal of the Australian soldiers during World War 1. This paragraph will help analyse and define the ANZAC legend which will be proven accurate by historical evidence. The ANZAC legend was created upon the ANZACs first arrival in Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, and firmly re established in the eight months of combat. Strong characteristics of courage, sacrifice, mateship and endurance were displayed on the battlefield, particularly during times of hardship. These qualities that are ... In the book Music in Bali, McPhee say that Kebyar can be said to be refer to cymbals and their metallic crash and the explosive unison attack in gamelan music. (McPhee, 1966:328) A general structure of Kebyar music is in the form of KPP. KPP is an abbreviation of Kawitan(introduction), Pengawak(the main body) and Pengecek(conclusion). This concept are said to be derived from culturally valued dimensions of threeness such as the concept of tri angga (an anthropomorphism referring to the head, torso and legs), three courtyards of the Balinese temple, the tri loka(upper, middle and lower worlds of existence) and others. Like sonata allegro, KPP is mainly associated with a restricted classical repertoire. (Tenzer,2000:354). McPhee describes that pengawak is essentially static in form and mood, the Pengecet is dynamically progressive, passing through successive phases of rising rhythmic tension. Total Quality Management Theory Introduction Most organizational management theories descend either from Frederick Taylor s scientific management theory or from Elton Mayo s human relations model. Total Quality Management (TQM) theory grew out of existing organizational management theories, in part, as a response to the problems in those theories. Edwards Deming and Joseph Juran are most responsible for the development of TQM. Deming and Juran began work on TQM in the 1930s and continued shaping the management model into the 1990s. The Global Population Is Ageing At An Alarming Rate The global population is ageing at an alarming rate, with over eight precent of the world s population over 65 and this number is expected to double by the year 2030 (International Federation for Social Workers, 2012). For Huffnung et. al. (2010), late adulthood encompasses the years following 65 and is characterised by a period of substantial decline in functioning including physical, psychological and social. Whilst dementia is not an inevitable part of the ageing process, it has however due to the ageing population become more prevalent within society, especially within remote aboriginal communities (Brodaty Cumming 2010 cited in Jones Creedy 2012, p.44). Dementia does not refer to a single disease rather, a group of symptoms specifically retaining to the cognitive impairment of individual which later progresses to effect both physical and the social function of sufferers. Developed by Engel (1977), the biopyschosocial model can be used to examine the progression of this disease during late adulthood. Thus, late adulthood is seen as a period of significant change with individual facing unique challenges in regards to development. • 9. Analysis Of The Book The Spirit Catches You And You Fall... The English translation of the Hmong phrase quag dab peg is that the spirit catches you and you fall down. While western society knows this as epilepsy, the Hmong believe that the seizures are caused by the presence of a dab or soul stealing spirit, which leads the soul to leave the body.1 The Hmong consider those who suffer from epilepsy to be respectable and of a higher status. In The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, the doctors and the Hmong are looking for a solution to the same problem; how to stop Lia Lee s seizures. However, miscommunication between the doctors and the Lee family worsens Lia s condition. There were disagreements between the family and the doctors on how to treat Lia, and the appropriate resources to overcome these disagreements were not available. In The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, Anne Fadiman shows how cultural differences and miscommunication between the western doctors and the Lees leads to the demise of Lia Lee. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down is only one example of many that shows how cultural differences affect health. Cultural differences such as variations in beliefs, preferences, behaviors, recognition of symptoms, and expectations of care because of one s culture, are some factors that influence decision making and consequently, health outcomes.2 For example, the Hmong s cultural beliefs include respecting the patient s privacy by not asking personal questions, asking them to undress, or take blood samples, ... • 12. The Identification of Green Fluorescence Protein Tagged... Introduction: Information is passed between neurons and muscles through the release of neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters are stored in synaptic vesicles in synapses. But before they can dock at a synapse, a motor transport known as kinesin moves the synaptic vesicles along microtubules to their final destination in the cell. This process is known as vesicle transport. The purpose of these experiments were to gain a better understanding of the movement of vesicles along microtubules and the importance of this in proper nerve transmission. This was accomplished by analyzing the phenotypes of three different strains of Caenorhabditis elegans using microscopy and a fluorescence microscope. The organisms contained fluorescence tags on the membranes of their synaptic vesicles to make it easier to see how the mutations affected the vesicles locations. Wild type C. elegans should be actively moving in an s shape pattern under a microscope. Under a fluorescence microscope, the tags should appear at the nerve ring and along the nerve cords. In the C. elegans with a fusion defect, its movement would appear impaired and the fluorescence tags would be more concentrated at the nerve ring. Lastly, a C. elegans with a transport defect would also have impaired movement, but the fluorescence tag would be dispersed in patches along the length of the entire worm. Results: Observation of phenotypic appearance was taken using a dissecting microscope at 50x magnification and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Goodwill is not easy to measure, because it includes exceptional management, desirable locations, customer relations, and so on. Since 2001, U.S. companies are no longer required/allowed to amortize the recorded amount of goodwill. In accounting we use the word amortization to mean the systematic allocation of a balance sheet item to expense (or revenue) on the income statement. Harold Averkamp (2015) The amortization of an asset means that a company is allowed to split the value of the expenses stated in the income statement over several months instead of a one time booking. However, the amount of goodwill is subject to a goodwill impairment test at least once per year. The companies have to verify at least once a year if the value of their assets is aligned with the fair value of the market. The test verifies if the value of the assets is bigger than the market value. An adjustment is recorded in order to bring the value of the asset at the fair value in case of inequality. In the modern day Philippines, they have established a multi party democracy which has an elected president along with its legislature. Their democracy is set up exactly the same as ours in the United States. They have the framework of where the president is both the head of state as well as the government in general. Tullock discusses Joshua and the story of Jericho, and the old man s story discusses the same points Tullock does. Tullock does introduce the significance of the holy war associated with Jericho. The disguising Gibeonites are discussed on how they were saved by a covenant by disguising and lying to the Israelites. Tullock ends the section of Joshua s conquests by telling the story of the five kings of the south. The division of conquered lands is explained by mentioning that territories were represented by the tribes responsible for the conquering. Tullock then discusses how the Canaanite religion greatly influenced the developing Israelite religion, and a reason for the influence is due to the greater population associated with the Canaanites. From this point on, Tullock discusses the famous judges and the themes seen throughout the book of Judges. Tullock states that the major judges include Othniel, Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, Abimelech, Jephthah, and Samson. Each major judge receives their own section of text discussing the stories associated with each of them. For example, Othniel provided forty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the flasks could only be shaken two at a time (one for each hand on a single person), they were not all shaken at the same time. Therefore, some flasks were strained into water after a shorter period of time than others. Disabilities can be defined as an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, sensory, developmental, or a combination of impairments that causes restrictions on an individual s ability to participate in society. With an ongoing problem in society as great as this, many began to question how such an impactful issue can be resolved. How does one s disability affect their political participation within society? How do one s disabilities even interfere with their ability to cast their vote in elections? How can one take steps to further improve one s political participation whether they have physical, mental, or psychosocial disabilities? Currently, not much action has been taken to study or improve the conditions negatively imposed upon those with disabilities. These critical issues will be examined in this study through the use of peer reviewed articles, books, and legislative regulation proving their true impact on their ability to increase political participation for those with disabilities. Human Self Deception And The Modular Mind Wahid Murad Professor Walker English 110 Paper #2 assignment 16th March 2016 Human self deception and the modular mind The model of three planes of the mind is nothing new. Sigmund Freud, the famous Austrian psychologist was the first to make this widespread into majority of society as we know it today. Even though his theories have from time to time been widely debated among Psychologists because they are nearly impossible to justify scientifically, Freud nevertheless created a handy theoretical model of the mind, which he separated into 3 tiers or sections the conscious mind or ego, the preconscious, and the unconscious mind. Our conscious mind is what people associate us with, as it is where most people exist and thrive daily. The conscious mind consists of everything that we are aware of. This is the part of our psychological processing that we can think and talk about rationally in other words this the cognitive portion. The subconscious part of the mind, on the other hand, is in charge of our most recent memoirs, and it is in spontaneous interaction with the resources of the mighty unconscious mind. It is the portion of the mind that signifies regular memory. While we are not consciously aware of this information at any given time, we can recover it and bring it into consciousness when required. The unconscious mind is the depot of all existing memories and experiences from the past, these are the stuff that have been bottled up through distress.. It is safe to ... INTRODUCTION Background The role of logistics in United States Air Force (USAF) operations and by extension United States military operations cannot be underestimated nor undervalued. People of both professional and academic backgrounds have spent considerable time studying and capturing the relevant points of its application. While critical to almost all military units and corporations alike, logistics in definition and application is not easily defined. It is an over arching word covering many disparate topics such as supply, sustainment, production, transportation, warehousing, maintenance, planning, and others. The USAF implements logistics at the tactical, operational and strategic levels with the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) being its largest logistics focused organization. AFMC is home to strategic organizations such as the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Organizations such as the 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing (SCOW), logistics readiness squadrons and aerial port squadrons implement logistics at the USAF operational and tactical level. AFMC and the agencies it commands are the USAF s primary interfaces for both internal and external logistics support; it interfaces with suppliers such as the Defense Logistics Agency and General Services Administration and vendors like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Kovach Mobile Equipment. For instance, biometric data stored at a central repository can be used to track individuals by checking where they visit or shop. This centralization, when compromised, may lead to data being used for unintended purposes like searching private information using latent fingerprints, revelation of certain health problems that may lead to discrimination among peers, etc. Objectives: To develop a multicast approach to the anonymous fingerprinting problem. This will reduce computational overheads and high communication bandwidth costs that characterize anonymous fingerprinting. • 36. Life Styles And Income Of Individuals And Their Households After analysing all the information it appears to me that the life styles and income of individuals and their households will differ, in particular the gender difference that will arise between men and women. We all understand that paid employment is a major source of every household s income and the pay that each individual receives is greatly influenced by the type of job. Gender matters in pay too (Callaghan :2012, p62) this shows that women in the UK on average are paid less this is due to women are concentrated more on lower paid jobs because men are placed more in senior management position s while women would be placed more in a secretarial and administrative role. Additional to this, she highlights that there is an increased caring commitment taken by women and is a direct result in the pay gap. The ageing society today does show us that on average women are more likely expected to live longer than men. After considering all these issues, women will have a huge effect on their financial life course. So in this essay I will discuss all about what financial consequences women could probably face by being paid less than men, living longer and likely to become carers. While the equal Pay Act 1970 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 had established the equal pay right for equal work in the UK, data presented by Office for National Statistics (ONS), represents that there are still a considerable difference in way men and women paid for example, in 2010 men earned an ... Lewis disputed for reason based Christianity as opposed to faith based Christianity. This is a questionable decision on Lewis part because conventional Christianity is indisputably faith based. Lewis principal readers were supposed to be skeptics and atheists rather than current believers. Skeptics doubt for lack of reason and evidence; therefore, only reason and evidence is more likely to draw their reconsideration. In his book, Mere Christianity, Lewis writes: I am not asking anyone to accept Christianity if his best reasoning tells him that the weight of the evidence is against it. (about.com). One of Lewis most often quoted statements is from Mere Christianity, where he uses reason and logic to introduce three possibilities to us (often known as the Lewis trilemma ). According to this trilemma, either Jesus really was God and intentionally lying, or was not God but reckoned himself to be (which would make him a lunatic). By using various writing approaches to convey the theme of the novel, Hesse appeals to the readers senses and aides them in grasping the novel. Included in these techniques are symbolism, metaphor, allusion, and archetypes. He compares many issues that Siddhartha faces to everyday objects and forces, making the novel easier to understand. Three of the main archetypes Hesse uses to get his point across are trees, rivers, and sleep. One of the more obvious symbols used in the novel is a tree. (76) Just as in the traditional English story A Christmas Carol, where Scrooge goes to bed and wakes up a new man after a series of nightmares, many authors have used the metaphor of sleep to show emotional growth in their characters. Another case in point is Kate Chopin s book on a woman s self discovery appropriately titled The Awakening. Just like these authors, Hesse proves to be no stranger to this choice of symbolism. He illustrates quite effectively and allows the reader to notice and reflect on Siddhartha s personal development on more than one level. It is easy to see that many cross cultural themes were brought into Siddhartha. Through writing on more than one level, Hesse has created a literary masterpiece that is extremely deep and meaningful. The application of the symbols he chose makes some of the themes in the novel easier to see and decipher. Is there a general way through human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that are based on voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence but goes on to do them. The climate changing was first suspected in the 19th century when scientists in britain debated whether Europe was covered by ice in the past. This generalization is often the focus of a feminist criticism. Feminists believe that women should have equal rights as men, and they seek to correct or supplement what they regard as a predominantly male dominated critical perspective with a feminist consciousness (Meyer 2014).
