This document discusses the work of the Cluster Evaluation Working Group in sharing expertise on evaluating technology and innovation clusters (TCIs). The group aims to evidence the value of TCIs, review their progress, and focus on learning rather than auditing. It addresses common challenges like satisfying different information needs and showing complex economic and softer impacts. The group seeks to develop approaches for showcasing good practices, factors influencing cluster success, and capturing the human element in evaluations. At a recent meeting, members discussed these issues and potential outputs like newsletters, mini-projects, and a collated learning booklet. The group also considers establishing an online presence and holding webinars and future meetings to advance the global discussion on cluster evaluation.
