1. This is our first shot, which is very important because it is the shot in which our audience make their mind up about our film. It draws in our target audience because, there are lots of books, and quite obviously a library. Our target audience are watching our film because they are more educated and want there to be more of an intelligent plot than gore. Attract/Adress your audience
2. This is the second shot of our actress walking away from the book shelf, in her high heels. It shows her as a sophisticated woman, rather than being objectified like in other films. Our target audience would be drawn in by this shot because it matches their expectations of a sophisticated cast.
3. This shot reveals what this film is really about. A murder. We can see that she has been researching about murder, and that this will be a main theme throughout the film. Our audience want murder to be included for a good mysterious investigation to take place.
4. The book that is shown in this shot, stationed on the desk throughout the sequence is, ‘The Lucifer Effect’. A book about why good people turn bad. Our audience would be looking out for things like this, because its written by a famous physiologist.
