The War On Drugs And Drugs
The war on drugs is a long going battle and it has created many issues all around the world and as of
today the highest prison population can be found in the United States due to drug charges. About half
of the inmates with in federal and state prisons can be found on drug convictions. Those charges can
range from possession of an illicit substance to drug trafficking that surprisingly continues to be an
issue in federal and state prisons. How can United States put an end to the war on drugs?
Many people cope with drug use, abuse, and many inmates who have been convicted on drug offenses
deal with addiction as well. The United States has the leading amount of people within the prison
system and most are for drug offenses nevertheless, many of those people contend with drug
addiction. Drug addiction is a disease that so many cope with; it is reliance on a substance and for
whatever reason the addiction continues to take over one s life and choices. Drug abusers can
sometimes see a means to an end when it comes to their drug addiction, whether its alcohol, a
hardcore drug like heroin or cocaine, or prescription medication the person will do what it takes to
feed their addiction. People have their reasons for why they need to do drugs, it could be to escape
their own reality, a coping mechanism, or it could be just because it makes them feel good. Sometimes
that need can surpass a person s better judgement leading to criminal acts being committed because
they need to

The Perfect Storm And Submerged City
Imagine living your life on a regular day for you and BOOM! Your life is now suddenly completely
changed, everything you thought was normal or part of you has changed. This is what natural disasters
tend to make happen in your life, they affect us in many ways. In this essay i will discuss the various
elements each author uses to express the causes and effects of disasters. The author Jacqueline Adam
clearly expresses the causes and effects of disasters through the use of text structure, choice of
vocabulary and use of data and details.
Both text selections: The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger and Submerged City express the cause
and effects of disasters through text structure. Text structure refers to how the information within a ...

One similarity between the stories the perfect storm and submerged city is both stories use some facts
in which are shown to be terrifying, by knowing this you can clearly see how horrifying being in an
natural disaster can be. In the perfect storm it states they had ship reports of thirty meter seas. That s
ninety feet. I would imagine truthfully, in retrospect that if the whole us swordfish fleet had been
caught in the center of that thing, everybody would ve gone down. We only saw, i don t know, maybe
fifty waves, max . In submerged city it states howling winds rush between new york city s skyscrapers
shattering windows and uprooting trees. A 7.6 meter (25 foot) wall of water sweepes over Lower
Manhattan, submerging the financial district and popular neighborhoods like chinatown and little italy.
Subways filled with seawater.millions of new yorkers who evacuated the danger zone can t return to
their devastated homes . Based on these details and information i can infer how serious these issues
are, just by describing the situations personally gave me chills, i mean no one will ever want to be in a
situation like that and in both texts they strongly show this. One difference between the stories the
perfect storm and submerged city in use of data and details is that in the perfect storm te details or

Fly Away Peter by David Malouf Essay
`Fly Away Peter by David Malouf To what extent is Jim s understanding of self enhanced by his
contact with those around him?
Fly Away Peter is essentially a story about life. Through the life of Jim Saddler the reader becomes
aware of the ideas posed by the author, David Malouf. Jim s life, if anything, is indeed a journey,
unfolding through various broadening experiences that lead to Jim s eventual understanding of the
world and his own self. However, to simply say that this understanding is enhanced solely by his
contact with those around him is only true to a certain extent. Jim s journey of life exists on many
levels, just one of which is the lessons he learns through his contact with others.

There is certainly no doubt that Jim and Ashley are brought together by their appreciation of nature.
Ashley has a quiet respect for the things Jim also respected , and the reader is made aware of the bond
and mutual respect each feels for the other. These three characters, despite their social differences,
easily relate through the birds. Ashley provides Jim with a place in the world through the sanctuary,
and Imogen helps Jim to secure his place within the sanctuary through her photographs and the book.
Ashley and Imogen are certainly significant factors in Jim s journey. They play a part in his final
understanding and affirmation of self, in that they are encouraging influences upon Jim and help him
to appreciate himself, however they are not the sole deciding factors in Jim s comprehension of life.
Enemies, like friends, told you who you were . This is indeed true of Jim, who learns much about his
own self through the cynical criticism of his father and the brutish bullying of Wizzer. His father, with
his bitter outlook and defeatist attitude, shows Jim what he does not want to become. In his father Jim
see a possible mirror that could well reflect what Jim will become if he does not hold him at arm s
length, to keep from being infected . Through Wizzer, Jim becomes aware of his own capacity for
black anger . Wizzer is significant because of what he reveals to Jim of his own character. The

The Munich Agreement And The Anglo German Declaration
For some European powers at the time, The Munich Agreement and the Anglo German Declaration
was considered to have achieved a peace that was thought to be unconceivable. Unfortunately, the
great claims of Neville Chamberlain did not come true. These agreements only delayed the inevitable
between the great European powers and allowed Hitler to gather more territory with relative ease. This
document between the powers of Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom outlined the terms
and conditions under which Germany would annex a large portion of Czechoslovakia. Throughout this
text, the historical context and significance of the Munich Agreement will be analyzed. The Munich
Agreement was produced in hopes to stop Hitler; he was threatening to unleash war upon Europe if he
did not get the Sudetenland. With Hitler s tyrannical pleas, the leaders of Britain, France, and Italy
agreed to the annexation of a large portion of Czechoslovakia out of fear of war (Munich Agreement).
It is important to note that Italy was an ally of Germany. Benito Mussolini, Italy s leader at the time,
was one of Hitler s greatest inspirations during his rise to power. Germany, Italy, Britain, and France
all came together in Munich, Germany to hold a conference to discuss Hitler s tyrannical demands.
The agreement was signed on September 29th, 1938 and it formally allowed for Germany s
annexation of the Sudetenland (Munich Agreement). The agreement came at a time where Europe

Netflix Documentary Conventions
Although Netflix has brought significant improvements on the publication and production of
documentaries, it remains a massive American profit making business that does not follow the
conventions of documentary filmmaking. As Lin Tay and Hudson explain, new media platforms such
as Netflix, disrupt the linear structures conventionally ascribed to documentary (79). Many traditional
documentarians and genre theorists are arguing about modern documentaries level of realness. As the
genre evolves and adapts to the new generation, it loses much of its original conventions, one of them
being the importance of facts rather than fiction (O Flynn 147). By mixing genres and applying
characteristics of science fiction blockbusters and reality television to the documentary genre, Netflix
is sometimes manipulating the storylines and visuals to make the text more appealing. For example,
the thrilling Amanda Knox (2016) documentary produced by Netflix, uses common conventions of ...

New Orleans Jazz
Introduction
Jazz is a music genre which came up from the creativity of different people from diverse backgrounds.
It s a known fact that it originated from New Orleans, USA. The music genre was often played at
funerals and sometimes in churches too. Even before the jazz music, for the people of New Orleans
music was just more than a luxury is was considered a necessity.
Origin of Jazz New Orleans jazz music started back in the nineteenth century, and it was as a result of
the love for music that the new Orleanais have and due to the treating of music as a necessity and not

Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary...
Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there
being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally
dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster
homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal and
deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations (Johnson
Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity could have
transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work field have
begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender identity are not
binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of understanding these
phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding that the binary model is
flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of researchers continue to ignore
and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous dichotomous paradigm (Rassi,
2011). It has also been noted that critiques from postmodern, poststructural, and queer theory
perspectives, as well as from individuals or groups (e.g. transgender, bisexual, intersex) who do not fit
neatly into binary categories continue to remain essentially absent within social work

Framing Analysis
Have you ever seen a story in the news that has been told multiple ways depending on which news
station you were tuning in to? This tends to happen very often in the news industry and why this
happens is because of framing. Framing is a way to present certain content in a way to guide an
audience s interpretation along certain lines. How the news does this is by having the gatekeepers,
which are the people in charge decide which group of facts are most important to share to the public to
help promote a particular view of that story. Recently in the news everyone has been talking about
Colin Powell and his leaked emails talking about both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Colin
Powell is an American statesman who is part of the republican ... Show more content on

Each news outlet has a different way of framing this story and this is based on either which party they
support or what there company wants them to talk about. CBS chose to frame this story by talking
about both candidates and how Colin Powell thought both candidates were just as bad. FoxNews
framed the story to make it seem like Colin Powell only talked about Hillary Clinton in his emails and
not trump at all, which shows you how they want you to view Hillary Clinton as an evil person. Reuter
framed the story by making it seem like Colin Powell really hated Donald Trump and didn t really
care for Hillary Clinton, which made her seem not as bad. Picking what news station you want to tune
into is extremely important because you want to make sure you get an outlet that has a common
ground and you aren t only hearing one side to the story. The hero that is being portrayed in this news
story is Colin Powell because he is the only one stating his opinion on how he feels and is being real,
which is what people like to hear. On the other hand the villain being portrayed depends on what news
outlet you are looking at. If you re looking at CBS and Reuter both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

Principal Agent Relationship Essay
Within a federal republic, such as the United States, we tend to rely on representatives to represent us
as a nation rather than us representing the nation. This is due to people s capacity of knowledge as not
everyone can be the best of themselves in every area. Eventually, leading to representatives, who have
the knowledge in politics and government, in representing the people of every state. This type of
situation is when the people, who are the principals, gives authority to the representative, who are the
agents, to represent them. By definition, the principals are those who possess authority and agents are
individuals who execute the authority on behalf of the principals (Kernell 29). Although this is
common, not many individuals are aware that they are entering a principal and agent relationship. In

Though it is not necessary for it to just involve politics, it can relate to legal matters, personal matters,
or work related relationships. One example of a principal and agent relationship is a lawyer and its
client. In this relationship, the principal is the client and the agent is the lawyer. This is a principal and
agent relationship because the client is delegating its authority to the lawyer. The lawyer ends up being
the agent who has received authority from the principal to handle the issue that the principal is
requesting. The client gives authority to the lawyer because the client does not have the necessary
knowledge to handle a matter that requires additional knowledge. The lawyer will be the
representative of the client who has no background in legal cases. It will allow the client a higher
chance of winning the case or having a better perspective on the matters that they are concerned about.
Since the relationship involves a lawyer and client, this example will revolve around the law and legal
issues, such as divorce, personal injury claim, or financial

Taming Of The Shrew Irony
A comedy is a work thats intended purpose is to make an audience laugh. Not all comedies are created
equally though. Some comedies are better than others. This is based on the characteristics of a comedy
and how they are executed within the work. After reading and analyzing The Taming of the Shrew and
The Importance of Being Earnest as comedies, I have come to the conclusion that The Taming of the
Shrew is a better comedy. One of the typical characteristics of a comedy are puns. A pun is a
deliberate confusion of words or phrases for humorous effect. We can see puns all throughout Taming
of the Shrew. One example of this is when Grumio and Petruchio have a misunderstanding at
Hortensio s gate. The misunderstanding happens when Petruchio asks ... Show more content on

A satire exposes and criticizes foolishness and corruption of an individual or a society by using humor,
irony, exaggerating, or ridicule. The satire in the Taming of the Shrew occurs when Petrucio states I
come to wive wealthily in Padua; if wealthy, then happily in Padua. (Shakespeare 1.2.76 7). This
brings to attention the problem with the motivation for marriage in society back then. This same
problem is also brought to attention within The Importance of Being Earnest. This satire occurs when
Lady Bracknell expresses that A moment, Mr. Worthing. A hundred and thirty thousand pounds? And
in the Funds? Miss Cardew seems to me a most attractive young lady, now that I look at her. (Wilde
63). Both of these plays bring up the same problem with society. However, the Taming of the Shrew
brings more attention to the problem because there is more of an exaggeration. Baptista wants his
older daughter married off first but requires there to be love in the relationship. He then will allow his
younger daughter to marry the man with the most property and money. This is brings more attention to
the problem because of the irony that the girl he wants married off quickest has to be loved but his

Uncontacted tribes should be left alone to continue what they have been doing for the past thousands

The tribes face these dangers: the diseases brought to them by the people of the outside world, the
government and loggers wanting to drive through their lands and destroy their home, and the fears of

The loggers are an immediate threat because they could come through and destroy their homes in an

tribes, would mean that they aren t really protected by the government anymore. Provided that, the
tribes need the government to not make budget cuts and to make laws to keep the loggers out of their
land. If this doesn t happen, these indigenous tribes will slowly be lost in the past.
By the same token, uncontacted tribes have to fear the cartels coming through and wiping them out.
The drug cartels who are running throughout Peru and Brazil, don t care about killing the tribesman.
The tribes people can t leave their village because it s even more of a risk than just staying in their

A Wrinkle In Time Meg Maker Character Analysis
Character Analysis of Meg Murry In the novel A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L Engle, Meg Murry
is a dynamic character who learns many things about herself during a journey through time and space.
Meg is stubborn and impatient, along with being whiny and angry. Although all of these traits sound
bad, they end up proving themselves to be great weapons. Throughout the novel, A Wrinkle in Time,
Meg proves to be a character who demonstrates amazing bravery, learns responsibility, and
understands love. In A Wrinkle in Time, Meg possesses a tendency to try to hold someone s hand and
force someone else to walk her through things. This shows a lack of responsibility, more importantly,
it also shows a lack of courage. Meg feels as if she acts and looks like an oddball (7), and this may be
one of the reasons why she is having trouble finding the bravery to stick up for herself. Even when
tessering with the Mrs.W s, she feels reassured when she can feel ...the pressure of Calvin s hand
about hers. (49). Although this proves to be a problem in the beginning of the book, Meg finds the
courage that she is lacking and uses it to realize what she must do to rescue Charles Wallace. While
her Father and Calvin have no idea of who should go to try to rescue Charles Wallace, Meg realizes
...oh, I see, I see, I understand, it has to be me. There is not anyone else. (124) Meg finds the bravery
to step up and do what she must do. In the end, Meg s bravery is the reason Charles Wallace is rescued
and it is ultimately, a genuine trait of hers. During Meg s journey, she also learns an important
message of responsibility. It seems that in the beginning of the book Meg is a wimp. She cries and
whines and acts stubborn which creates a childish and immature reputation for her. Which, really, Meg
is and she refuses to take responsibility for anything. This is extremely evident during the rescue of
her father. Meg assumes that her father will do everything for her and that when she found him
...everything would be all right. Everything would be settled. All the problems would be taken out of
her hands. She would no longer be responsible for anything. (98) Meg thought this to be true, and she

For the past, few centuries the concept of marriage has become a matter of church and state. Those
who wish to become a married couple within the United States must get permission from the states by
obtaining a marriage license. According to Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz for sixteen
centuries marriage was valid based upon the couples wishes. If both the man and women claimed they
had exchanged vows, then the Catholic Church would recognize it as a valid marriage. Today all states
require that a couple obtain a marriage license from the state if they want the marriage to be legal and

In the United States Constitution, the Ninth Amendment is often forgotten or not commonly taught.
The ninth amendment is often denoted as Enumeration of Rights. This amendment outlines the human
rights that were not written or protected by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Marriage is a right.
Everybody and anybody should have the right to marriage. Putting rules and regulations on marriage
is a clear violation of the United States Constitution and a clear violation of our unalienable rights.
Marriage has only become a way for the government to collect extra tax money and fees. Marriage is
only a business for the government. Instead of marriage being a civil union of a man and a woman. It

She stresses that beauty is only skin deep. Accepting herself for who she is, she speaks confidently
about herself throughout the poem. Confidence, in which, is another theme of the poem. She speaks

because of the mystery that lies within her, though no one really understands the secret to her self
expression. Another theme that is strongly stressed in this poem is that it is better to be yourself and
feel comfortable in your own skin. The metaphorical use in this poem is then they swarm around me, a

Essay Breaking the Cycle of Poverty caused by Lack of...
Society has been trying to reduce poverty for over 500 years (Indigenous) and has never succeeded.
The education and skill level, health or handicap status, and discrimination play a vital role in poverty.
So why does society keep trying the same approaches: give them money or give them jobs? Neither
one ever worked. A major factor determining whether someone will end up living in poverty,
education or skill level can make or break an income. Education plays a vital role in acquiring jobs,
learning new skills, and bringing home necessities and comforts of life. A person who does not receive
an education has a very small chance of making much money and acquiring skills that would bring

the Middle Ages. Dependent on who one listens to, one may consider a different start time. Perhaps it
all started in England, under Edward III, with the Statute of Laborers, enacted in 1349 or with the
work ethic in 1571 with Martin Luther. Regardless we have had organized attempts to rid ourselves to
poverty for many years, and, we have been at it a very long way to go. More recent causes not
necessarily related to money already in hand have been categorized as follows: inadequate education
or skills, poor motivation to work and other negative attitudes or skills, inability to form stable
families, proliferation of low wage, low skilled jobs, poor schools and inadequate investment in
training and skill formation, lack of access to higher education, residential segregation, discrimination
in labor, credit, and housing markets. Of these listed, two deal with discrimination (7 and 8), two with
jobs (2 and 4) and four with education (1, 2, 5, and 6), and one with families (3). Society has been
dealing with discrimination for decades (Amadeo, Kimberly) with the first big push away from it by
President Johnson in the 60 s. Discrimination still is with society and society still need to work on this
aspect. The United States has also had a jobs program for decades with very limited success.

Essay On Indentured Servants
Indentured Servitude as a Catalyst for Colonial Success The colonies were better able to adapt to the
New World and all of its trials through the use of indentured servants. Indentured servitude gave
colonists access to the new freedoms they may not have had otherwise in Britain while giving colonies
such as Virginia a chance at success. The New World involved challenges that the colonists never
could have imagined including but not limited to disease, crop differences, and Native Americans with
very different lifestyles. Colonial Growth by means of Indentured Servants Over half of the white
immigrants that arrived to the British Colonies were able to make the passage through agreeing to
indentured servitude. Indentured servants exchanged several years of labor for the cost of passage to
America and the grant of land. During the seventeenth century, indentured servants provided most of
the labor in British America. Unanticipated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

little options for freed servants. A large majority of freed servants during this time had to choose

With the beginnings of colonies such as New England, the need for indentured servitude throughout
British America began to decline. In New England a large portion of the settlers were middle class.
Besides even the class level of those who settled in New England, the area was a much easier place to
settle as the labor required as well as the weather was much more mild. The strongest portions of
weather was the cold climate which ultimately helped to fend off some disease and illness that may

Eco Friendly/Green Technology:
Consumers are becoming more interested in environmentally products and practices due to global

Today s electric vehicles offer several advantages over gas powered cars. Some of these advantages
include, better gas mileage, less dependance on foreign oil, reduced exhaust emissions, and saves
customers money.
One of the main benefits of eco friendly cars is the improved gas mileage. Improved gas mileage not
only means not having to fill up as often, but it means that drivers can travel farther distances on a

The Career Of A Professional Workplace
A professional workplace is an environment that produces numerous challenging situations and if not
handled correctly, could create a very unproductive organization. A well qualified employee is
selected to be responsible for controlling all or part of a company, including difficult situations that
arise between co workers. The term given to this worker is a manager; their main task in the
organization is to get things done through the efforts of other people. This may sound like a rather
simple task, but it is very deep and layered with different difficulties. Henry Mintzberg, an
internationally renowned author on business and management, broke down the tasks a manager faces
into ten different interrelated roles. According to Mintzberg s managerial roles, there are three
categories that break up the ten roles a manager performs: Interpersonal, Informational, and
Decisional. Interpersonal encompasses figurehead, leader, and liaison. Informational includes monitor,
disseminator, and spokesperson. Finally, Decisional covers entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource
allocator, and negotiator. It is clear that being a manager is a demanding job and it is not for the easily
overwhelmed individual. There are numerous different research projects that have been performed in
hopes to discover a new way for managers to be more effective and successful in their day to day
activities. A remarkable amount of research supports that five basic dimensions underlie most

Modern Techniques Like Cloning And Restriction Enzymes
Introduction:
Humans have interfered with organisms throughout the past, present and will still continue to do so in
the future. In January 1995 14 wolves were captured in Canada to be reintroduced in Yellowstone
changing the biodiversity.
The biological traits change as human s interfere with wildlife, it has affected the population and the
reproduction of species (Mary A. Orland, 2014). Modern techniques like cloning and restriction
enzymes allow genetic material to be transferred from one organism to another to exchange genetic
material. This then puts a permanent change in an organism s gene making it an artificial species like
the Belgian Blue, Featherless chickens and the Enviropig. Although making it cheaper and easier to
produce such as making it simple selecting traits and crops utilizing less applications to reproduce,
GMO s allow farmers to receive more product from the organism allowing them to make more money.
Evolution is how one form of life develops into a different form. Evolution is a change in the genetic
composition of a population over geological time*. It helps explain why living organisms such as
animal, human or plant act and look a certain way. An organism s genotype is the set of genes that it
carries*. Phenotype is the observable characteristic which is usually influence by the organisms
genotype and its surrounding environment. Charles Darwin discovered the theory of evolution in 1836
he states that All species of organisms arise and develop

A Review On Currency Devaluation
Introduction
Imagine you are in charge of economic policy in your country. Inflation starts to creep up. The value
of your currency is losing ground which is making the debt you incurred even greater. Now your GDP
is affected as you struggle, trying to figure out the best response for both short term and long term
economic health. This is what Argentina faced in the late 1900 s after many decades of prosperity.
Even the best intended responses to an economic crisis may or may not correct the situation or may
even exacerbate it, as outlined in the Case Study by Gerber (2010) in Argentina.

In 1900, Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world, but then by 1950 an income gap
started to form as the U.S. and Europe s incomes caught up and passed Argentina. Then the Latin
American debt crisis struck in the 1980 s along with the Lost Decade of the 1980s and Argentina s
GDP fell 7 percent while at the same time inflation skyrocketed by more than 3,000 percent. Several
experiments were performed with no clear success until they fixed their currency to the U.S. dollar at
1:1 and restricted the printing of money. In 1990, Argentina created a currency board to enforce rules
and monitor exchange rates which was successful through 1998 until an economic crisis in East Asia
caused Brazil to devalue its currency placing Argentina firms at a disadvantage leading to a negative
current account balance in Argentina of 4 percent of the GDP leading to a 1999 recession.
With Argentina total expenditures down and a recession in place, a demand side stimulus would be in
order including cutting taxes, increased government spending, and increasing the money supply
however, there were problems with these changes. The 1:1 ratio and raising prices by expansionary
policies were seen as problematic and even counterproductive. Currency devaluation would also be a
problem as they borrowed dollars during all the growth years and the decreasing value of the Peso

Theme Of Biblical Allusion In Wuthering Heights
As Lockwood lays to rest in the third chapter of Emily Brontë s Wuthering Heights, he is wrought
with a dream of a fictional Reverend Jabez Branderham and his surplus of sins. The dream almost
reads as incomprehensible at first glance, especially when wedged between Lockwood s visions of
Catherine Earnshaw, but the dream holds clout in the overarching tale of Wuthering Heights,
especially when taking its moral implications into consideration. To implement a biblical allusion in
one s text requires the understanding that, no matter what one intends to do with the material, it will
remain morally charged nonetheless. The material can be contorted or figured into a new message
altogether, but some moral proposition will certainly remain. In the case of Lockwood s dream, Brontë
s allusion to Peter and his interest in forgiveness are contorted to address what happens when the
threshold of forgiveness is surpassed. Furthermore, the dream does not grapple with the power of
forgiveness, but with the level of desperate exasperation one reaches after prolonged anguish. It is
through the contortion of such a biblical allusion that Lockwood is met with what is essentially a
warning against staying at either Thrushcross Grange or Wuthering Heights a warning which he
ultimately disregards, thus leading to his exposure to the litany of terrors which exist in the story of
Wuthering Heights. Though Lockwood s dream doesn t exactly parallel the biblical tale which it
alludes to, the

King Xerxes had amazing amounts of wealth and many wives and concubines, but the wife that stood
out, and perhaps the most infamous wife in his courts, was Queen Vashti.
Queen Vashti was the daughter of King Nebuchadnezzar and was very self seeking and stubborn. She
was also very beautiful, which in some ways was her downfall, for during the concluding week of the
great feast, King Xerxes demanded Queen Vashti come before him and have her beauty paraded
before his guests. Queen Vashti refused to come and be humiliated in this manner, for it was not
proper for a woman to appear before a room of men. This angered King Xerxes, and he turned to his

The modest clothing protects the women from the men s gazes (Mussap 122). The kimono is widely
referred to as the national costume of Japan and is used for festive occasions in Japan. Once used to
determine social class, the kimono has now become a symbol of distinctive Japaneseness . The
kimono represents the diligent and graceful manner of the Japanese woman. This representation came
from geisha women who once wore them (Assmann 360 362).
Fashion through the different cultures also defines that cultures religion. Many cultures have tradition
religious outfits. One example is Jewish men wearing yamakas during religious events. The yamakas
symbolize the relationship between man and God. In the Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism
religions the people wear natural, unstitched cloth while performing religious ceremonies. The natural,
unstitched cloth represents purity and devotion to the task.
Fashion communicates the culture and ways of people. It is a way for people to express their thoughts

Pennsylvania American Architecture
Brianna Jerdan

Pennsylvania German Architecture Pennsylvania German architecture is very unique to Southeastern,
Pennsylvania. It spread through Pennsylvania; however, it is most prominent where it originated in
Southeast, Pennsylvania. Most homesteads consist of a main house, along with domestic outbuildings.
A domestic outbuilding is an auxiliary building on a property, and one that is functionally associated
with the domestic aspect of the homestead, that is, with the work and other activities that take place in
the area of the dwelling. (Domestic Outbuildings, p. 66) The domestic outbuildings that existed on
most Pennsylvania German properties, in addition to the main house, was the springhouse, the
bakeoven, the root cellar, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An outdoor privy would allow for an enclosed space to use the bathroom. It would cover one or more
toilets. The idea of an outdoor privy is not unique to the Pennsylvania German culture and
architecture. It has been an idea that has been used for centuries in many different cultures and is still
used in developing countries today. Most outdoor privies were basic structures with lightly framed
structures; however, some of them were of higher class like the outdoor privy at the Tulpehocken
Manor. Tulpehocken Manor has a large and elaborate Victorian privy, of frame construction and
sporting a tall cupola ventilator. (Domestic outbuildings, p. 85). These more elaborate outbuildings
were not as common. Bibliography

I want to start off by expressing my sincerest gratitude for you allowing me the opportunity to work as

Care For Health Campaign Essay
The care for health campaign was the first family planning promotion to be done in Russia and it
helped increase the use of modern contraceptives by 12%. It was part of the women´s reproductive
health program (WRHP) which involved training of health care providers, advocacy and research.
This intervention resulted in increase in family planning counselling for women, longer continuation
rates of contraceptives and increase in clinic attendance for family planning in the intervention areas.
This program was birthed in 1994 by the US Agency for international development to improve the
health of children and women by promoting the change in the current family planning communication
and service delivery system resulting in a greater ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objectives of a campaign should resonate with the strategy (Myanmar, 2013). This is the point
where one asks questions such as what do I need to do to achieve the overall goal of the campaign? In
this case, one of the campaign objectives was to increase knowledge and positive attitudes towards
modern contraceptives. In so doing, the campaign would be meeting the overall strategy which was to
bring family planning to the public arena and to highlight its importance.
Choosing an age bracket is also essential as one is able to seclude the target audience in order to make
the campaign strategy more effective. The age bracket for women chosen was 18 30. This was also an
appropriate age since it is the prime age for reproduction.
One of the activities done was to disseminate the family planning message through national television.
The airtime was donated by the prime minister then. This was effective as the message reached
women throughout Russia and the neighboring countries. The campaign also used a disco event to
promote family planning communication.
The second reading (A Mainstream Product Continues to Shed its Taboo Past) is a case study about
vibrators which is a very controversial subject particularly in the African nations. It starts with the
history and background of the use of the vibrators. As seen from the reading, hysteria, a female
disease of the uterus was treated by massaging of the genitals. Physicians and midwives

Pressure Ulcers
According to the textbook, nurses in various settings are adopting a research based (or evidence
based) practice that incorporates research findings into their decisions and interaction with clients.
How do you see this being applied in your workplace? In my workplace, we have recently
implemented that if a patient is admitted from the ER or directly admitted from a physician s office
and they have any sensory impairment we must order them a Stryker overlay mattress. The stryker
softcare overlay mattress is a single patient use mattress put in place in hope of preventing pressure

toward patients. This standard, in any case, offers minimal helpful direction to doctors subsequent to

the advantages exceed the weights. Doctors ought not to give insufficient medicines to patients as
these offer danger with no probability of advantage and along these lines have a possibility of hurting

Fly Away Peter is essentially a story about life. Through the life of Jim Saddler the reader becomes aware of the ideas posed by the author, David Malouf. Jim s life, if anything, is indeed a journey, unfolding through various broadening experiences that lead to Jim s eventual understanding of the world and his own self. Ashley provides Jim with a place in the world through the sanctuary, and Imogen helps Jim to secure his place within the sanctuary through her photographs and the book. The Munich Agreement And The Anglo German Declaration For some European powers at the time, The Munich Agreement and the Anglo German Declaration was considered to have achieved a peace that was thought to be unconceivable. Unfortunately, the great claims of Neville Chamberlain did not come true. These agreements only delayed the inevitable between the great European powers and allowed Hitler to gather more territory with relative ease. This document between the powers of Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom outlined the terms and conditions under which Germany would annex a large portion of Czechoslovakia. Throughout this text, the historical context and significance of the Munich Agreement will be analyzed. The Munich Agreement was produced in hopes to stop Hitler; he was threatening to unleash war upon Europe if he did not get the Sudetenland. With Hitler s tyrannical pleas, the leaders of Britain, France, and Italy agreed to the annexation of a large portion of Czechoslovakia out of fear of war (Munich Agreement). It is important to note that Italy was an ally of Germany. Benito Mussolini, Italy s leader at the time, was one of Hitler s greatest inspirations during his rise to power. Germany, Italy, Britain, and France all came together in Munich, Germany to hold a conference to discuss Hitler s tyrannical demands. The agreement was signed on September 29th, 1938 and it formally allowed for Germany s annexation of the Sudetenland (Munich Agreement). The agreement came at a time where Europe seemed to be ... • 12. Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary... Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal and deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations (Johnson Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity could have transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work field have begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender identity are not binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of understanding these phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding that the binary model is flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of researchers continue to ignore and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous dichotomous paradigm (Rassi, 2011). Throughout the novel, A Wrinkle in Time, Meg proves to be a character who demonstrates amazing bravery, learns responsibility, and understands love. In A Wrinkle in Time, Meg possesses a tendency to try to hold someone s hand and force someone else to walk her through things. This shows a lack of responsibility, more importantly, it also shows a lack of courage. Even when tessering with the Mrs.W s, she feels reassured when she can feel ...the pressure of Calvin s hand about hers. (49). A well qualified employee is selected to be responsible for controlling all or part of a company, including difficult situations that arise between co workers. The term given to this worker is a manager; their main task in the organization is to get things done through the efforts of other people. This may sound like a rather simple task, but it is very deep and layered with different difficulties. In January 1995 14 wolves were captured in Canada to be reintroduced in Yellowstone changing the biodiversity. The biological traits change as human s interfere with wildlife, it has affected the population and the reproduction of species (Mary A. Orland, 2014). This then puts a permanent change in an organism s gene making it an artificial species like the Belgian Blue, Featherless chickens and the Enviropig. Theme Of Biblical Allusion In Wuthering Heights As Lockwood lays to rest in the third chapter of Emily Brontë s Wuthering Heights, he is wrought with a dream of a fictional Reverend Jabez Branderham and his surplus of sins. The dream almost reads as incomprehensible at first glance, especially when wedged between Lockwood s visions of Catherine Earnshaw, but the dream holds clout in the overarching tale of Wuthering Heights, especially when taking its moral implications into consideration. To implement a biblical allusion in one s text requires the understanding that, no matter what one intends to do with the material, it will remain morally charged nonetheless. The material can be contorted or figured into a new message altogether, but some moral proposition will certainly remain. In the case of Lockwood s dream, Brontë s allusion to Peter and his interest in forgiveness are contorted to address what happens when the threshold of forgiveness is surpassed. Furthermore, the dream does not grapple with the power of forgiveness, but with the level of desperate exasperation one reaches after prolonged anguish. It is through the contortion of such a biblical allusion that Lockwood is met with what is essentially a warning against staying at either Thrushcross Grange or Wuthering Heights a warning which he ultimately disregards, thus leading to his exposure to the litany of terrors which exist in the story of Wuthering Heights.
