Founding Liability
Founding Liability in Slip and Trip Accidents
Slip and trip as a result of a rough walkway or a slippery surface can cause critical injury. Poor
building maintenance might be liable; engage a lawyer into service to examine it.
While falls onto your buttocks have been the matter of funny side of slip and trip accidents are no joke
in real life. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says that falls on the job account for 5% of workplace
deaths for females and 11% for males. Hospital urgent visits reported eight million by reason of slip
fall occurrences every year, and that 5% of all such incidents give rise to a bone crack. Worth
mentioning, slip falls are particularly the leading reason of missed time of work.
Whether a slip and fall accident happens at the place of work or public area, not every personal injury

No matter whether a building is repaired by a private or public person or agency, finding the reason of
a fall may be a much more difficult than in the area of a factory.
Finding the source of the injury is of great importance: It can have an effect upon the capacity of the
suffered person to recover compensation for the expense and emotional distress of injuries. Health
care expenses (such as long term remedial care), missed days of work and constant pain can
considerably affect a person s life and that of their reliant. The proceeding process needs proving
liability for injuries that is not always straightforward to do.
There are as a minimum three main factors that can be helpful for the injured person prove that the

Benefits Of Sociological Imagination
Sociological Imagination is defined as enables its possessor to understand the larger historical scene in
terms of its meaning for the inner life and the external career of a variety of individual in the reading
by Garth Massey. This meaning that it allows the individual to take accounts for all personal
framework of experiences and also plays a role in self consciousness. We are going to go over the
benefits of sociological imagination, understand how it plays a huge concept in the world we live in,
and finally the relation sociological imagination play in suicide and eating disorders. Benefits of
sociological imagination are that Mills theory does provide us with a better understanding of how
people do communicate. There is a quote that says, we all go through the same experiences but we
each handle them differently. This quote I found to best explain the terms of Mills theory. An
individual must find a social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Durkheim went into detail about three suicide types: anomic, altruistic, and egotistic. Anomic suicide
makes individuals feel lost or alone in society. For example teen suicide, the teen cannot relate to
another individual. Altruistic suicide is based on excessive regulations of individuals by social force.
For example political or social pressure makes and individual feel disconnected with society or
themselves. Egotistic suicide is a total detachment from society. He argues that suicide is a social
factor. The social factors he argues are social surroundings and whether the individual is integrated in
social structure. He does state as well does Mills that men have a higher rate of suicide than woman
do. Mills believed that men were unable to make the connection between social and individual life.
Durkheim and Mills both have different perspectives however they both believed that our society and
individuals needed to make a connection in order to

Angela s Duty In Angelas Ashes
William Faulkner possesses a strong idea that a writer is given the privilege and duty of making man
prevail. According to Faulkner this is the only thing that makes writing worth the effort put into it, and
if an author cannot accomplish this duty there is no need for writing at all. Faulkner simplifies this
complex obligation by presenting man as he really is through the thruths of his heart, which means
including what really happens to man from agony to compassion and sacrifice and endurance. Many
authors, including Frank McCourt, take on this duty and create a piece of literature that depicts man as
his true self in order to assure he prevails instead of merely edur[ing]. Frank McCourt honors this duty
as a writer throughout his memoir, Angela s Ashes. McCourt describes his journey to adult hood in a
genuine way that shows not only the positive, but also the agonizing parts of his life. McCourt
includes these completely contrasting types of experiences in order to help him accomplish the writer
s duty because they both involve immense amounts of feeling. The writer s duty in McCourt s work is
expressed throughout the entire work from McCourt s life as a child in the beginning of his memoir to
the end as he becomes a true man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Rise Of The Adult Entertainment Industry
The rise of the adult entertainment industry has exploded in both popularity and accessibility within
the last thirty years as a result of the emergence of pay per view adult movies, pornographic websites,
and 1 900 phone lines. The number of topless bars, exotic car washes, X rated theaters, and massage
parlors in business has boomed greatly. Within this time, United States Supreme Court decisions
recognized that First Amendment protection might very well extend to some types of non obscene
pornography and nude dancing as a form of nonverbal expressive speech (1). Though consequently,
the possibility for such First Amendment right protection paved the way for increases in adult
businesses. Although it may seem unlikely, the fate of First Amendment freedoms is irrevocably
linked to the ongoing conflict between the agents administering the adult entertainment and those who
defend public decency. The expansion of adult business have generated intense concern among
communities, with many individuals believing that the proliferation of adult material including X
rated movie viewing facilities, topless bars, and adult bookstores, ultimately threatens property values,
and are morally hazardous to their community (2). As a strong trend to regulate such businesses,
governments around the country, and specifically in North Carolina, have begun to significantly
restrict the locations of such adult oriented establishments. Such regulations put into effect restrict
such businesses to

Should There Be Banned In William Randolph Hearst´s...
Yellow Journalism was a form of newspaper that told outrageous stories to catch the readers eye.
Newspaper publishers William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer II used the form of journalism as
a marketing campaign to get customers, in order to buy their newspapers. They include stories,
drawings, and cartoons. Instead, the journal gave birth to modern day investigative Journalism. It was
during the 1890s, this newspaper would cause a war between the United States and Spain. What
would plunge America into the Spanish America was that William Randolph Hearst wrote a story of
America in a war with Cuba, which he said would not just sell millions of papers, but make him the
head honcho of the newspaper business. Although the journal is influence to future news stories, some
modern critics have considered Yellow Journalism as disclosure of privacy. According to Vanaik,
Yellow journalism must be opposed, but it is astonishing that methods that restrict the democratic
rights of freedom of the press and journalists, specifically the right of journalists to protect their
sources, should be advocated to tackle problems which should and can be dealt with by methods when
are not restrictive of basic liberties. Provided, Hearst made reports to depict the Cubans as savages,
who made their women slaves, host public executions, and that a rebellion for independence caused
war to break out in Cuba. However, Hearst s depiction of Cuba would not be the main cause of

Spanish Colonization In North America
Europeans were the initiators of the collision of cultures in the New World, and initial contact ended
poorly for the most part (Shultz, 2014). According to Kevin Shultz (2014), the Spanish was the first to
settle early colonization in North America. Unfortunately, contact with the Spanish reduced the
population by twenty percent in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries due to exposure to diseases.
Shultz (2014) also states that the native people were abused brutally by the Spanish. The Spanish
forced the natives into slavery to mine for gold. The Spanish s dealings with the native people in the
native lands seem to have been cruel and full of devastation. The English did not initially want to
challenge Spain. Therefore, they were slower

Discipleship In The Gospels Of John And Luke-Acts
Each of the four Gospels contains points in ecclesiology. In the Great Commission, Jesus last
instruction to the Apostles is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching people
(Matthew 28:19 20). For Jesus mission to continue and for his Church to grow, discipleship is
necessary. Discipleship is a prominent theme in all four Gospels, for purposes of this essay, only the
Gospels of John and Luke Acts will be analyzed. The similarities regarding discipleship in these
Gospels include images of the net and fishing, and the sheep/shepherd/sheepfold. The differences
include the preparing of the Twelve to carry on Jesus ministry in Luke, and service to the community
and passing of authority in John s Gospel. According to Matera, Luke Acts is a well defined set of
time periods. The Gospel is considered the time of Jesus and Acts is the time of the Church. The time
of Jesus in Luke s Gospel foreshadows the Church (Matera, 7). As stated in Stanton, Luke set out the
story of Jesus as a prelude to the story of the origin and growth of the early Church (Stanton, 80).
John, on the other hand, focuses on Christology and the teachings of Jesus to the community (Matera,
9). Both Gospels contain strong references to discipleship, which form the basis for the Church.
In both Luke and John, fishing and the image of the net allude to discipleship. In Luke Chapter 5, the
disciples have fished all night and returned the next morning with nothing. Jesus tells them to put

Difference Between Semiotics, Semiology And Difference
What is Semiotics, Semiology and Difference? In this paper I will define the Semiotics, Semiology
and Difference then I will give the views and beliefs of the three of the masterminds behind these
terms.
Firstly, Semiology and Semiotics are two related disciplines, which study semiotics, the relation of
significance involving signs, object and mind, and classification of signs. Semiotics is a synonym for
Semiology. Semiotics is defined as the study of signs and symbols and their interpretation, while
Semiology is semiotics, the study of signs. According to Swiss Linguist and Semiotician Ferdinand de
Saussure semiotics is the science of signs. Saussure in Course in General Linguistics, said the roles of
signs are part of our social life . For him, sign has two parts, the signifier and the signified. The
signifier is the physical form of the sign. The signified is the concept to which the signifier refers the
meaning or idea it refers to in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For him, Semiotics is a formal doctrine of sign, signs must have a real connection with the thing it
signifies. It is a much boarder clasof Saussure s signifier, as it extends into the physical as well.
According to him, there is a third element that must be present for signification to take happen. This,
additional element is the understanding of the relation between signifier and signified, he referred to
this as the interpretant. The interpretant sheds light on the relationship between signifier and signified.
Pierce admonishes that a sign or signifier must be interpreted in order to exist. The sign or signifier
creates an interpretant and this in turn allows us to access it object or the signified. In other words, if
the sign means something it requires somebody (a mind) signifying and something (an object) that is

Inside The Palace Of Illusions In Greek Mythology
CONCLUSION
Mythology always had been and will always be inseparable part of a society and so will be the stories
that on the surface may seem fantastic but at a deeper level deals with very contemporary issues. Since
mythological texts had been written down centuries ago it had certain patriarchal norms and
perspective one for example is that readers are never given reasons or a look inside the female
characters while male characters are given a chance to justify themselves for example the episode of
Draupadi laughing when Duryodhana slips inside the palace of illusions of
Indraprastha is added later to the text to justify to some extent her disrobing in the episode of dicing.
But the acts of Menaka forsaking her daughter or the very

Mobile
Phones are used by remote users so we can say it s the communication on move. The evolution
Of mobile technology starts from 1G, and now we are using 4G in our daily life. Let s have a
Brief discussion on the topic: (Faisal, march, 2010)
2 First Generation (1G) This technology was first used in July, 1978 and the mobiles of that age are
used for only
Voice transformation and one way voice transformation. It uses 25 MHz bandwidth frequency
Allocated from one station to the cell phone and 25 MHz bandwidth frequency allocated for cell
phone to the station. The 1G technology uses frequency division media access (FDMA) through which
the users have to wait for the other user s reply. (Faisal, march, 2010)
3 Second Generation (2G) Because of the remarkable popularity of these cell phones the technology
changes its
Trends and change the way of communication by introducing a new technology called second
generation (2G). It was firstly used in 1991 and in this technology the new communication way
Was introduced which solve the problem of multiple users on the network and fully encrypted
Digital way was introduced instead of analogue way. (Faisal, march, 2010)
4 Third Generation (3G): Because of the much demand by the people it was felt that there must be
some better communication then 1G or 2G. The third generation is also one of the finest ways of
communication even now a day. 3G uses 2.5 GHz band

Descriptive Essay On Astronomy Camp
Astronomy Camp Slam! I shut the car door behind me. This would be the first year on my own, away
from my home and my family. I set my feet on the rough, yet new looking gravel road and let out a
sigh. From behind, I hear cars coming my way, and I look around at my surroundings as I grab my
things. Trees of all shapes and forms surround me, their green leaves and giant branches enticing me
to get closer. I swallow a lump that forms in my throat, urging the already swarming butterflies in my
stomach to calm down. This year, I would meet new people and make new friends, it was thrilling. Yet
beneath it all, I found myself anxious of the upcoming week. I look around at the trees, trying to
convince myself that it wouldn t be so bad. The camp was small, only 3 buildings, but it was quaint.I
glance at the buildings of wood and stone surrounding me, and I notice a woman on the porch. She sits
with a smile, her lengthy hair down on the ground. I m drawn to her like a sheep to a shepherd and I
grab my stuff, walking to her. The woman stands and I note she is short and stout. Though she spoke
with power and intelligence, she had a soft and kind tone to her voice. She welcomes me into the
camp, showing me to a room where I will be sleeping. I put my substantial load on the bed, grabbing
my sleeping bag and pillow. I walk out and notice two new campers have arrived, I feel my heart
begin to pound within my chest. A tall boy, who to me looked like your average popular

What Is Social Cohesion
Social cohesion refers to setting the correct mind set of the people to bond together regardless of
religion and race. Social cohesion plays an important role in a country as it brings peace and harmony
to the people. When there is social cohesion in a country, it was said that the people often share the
same beliefs and values. However, it is not necessary that their lifestyles and beliefs have to be exactly
the same.
For example, in relation to religion, it is possible that the people can pray to the individual gods they
believe rather than everyone in the community to be part of the same beliefs. It is what they referred to
as a social contract. A social contract defines as the understanding of the people in a society that is
able to keep up the certain standard for the well being of the whole society. This includes being able to
have the privileges of political responsibilities like voting and payment of taxes. Also they have to
make sure that they are up to the moral values such as keeping a high level of respect as well as
mutual trust for one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He wanted to make sure that old feelings wouldn t come up again.
Another type of conflict was man vs. nature, in man vs nature the man had to overcome the struggles

Research Paper On Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Queen Elizabeth II might be one of the most influential monarchs living today in this era of the
democratic states. With her rule over the Commonwealth Nations lasting for over fifty years, the
Queen has been very much popular with the public, not just in Great Britain or amongst the
Commonwealth Nations, but also amongst all the nations of the world.
The Queen s life might have only begun as the first child to the Duke and Duchess of York, but
instantly she came into attention of the nation with her strong bond with the then head of state, King
George V, who was also Elizabeth s grandfather. The qualities of Elizabeth had been exemplary from
the very start. Although a little mischievous as a child, Elizabeth was quite mannered, polite and
respectful.
After her father, King George VI, was crowned, Elizabeth became the natural successor to the throne.
With this face, a sense of responsibility arose within her, making her more active towards the matters
of national interest. She had already become famous amongst the public with her very first broadcast
to console, strengthen and assure the war stricken children of the nation. Her efforts to assist the
country in the tome of war showed her courage, bravery and love for the nation and its people.
After her marriage with Duke of Edinburgh and then replacing her deceased father as the head of the
state, Elizabeth had shown immense maturity as she kept working tirelessly to uphold the

Alfred Stevens La Parisienne Japonisme Essay
Alfred Stevens La Parisienne Japonaise is a painting of oil on canvas painted in 1872. This artwork I
have chosen is a clear example of Japonisme from its time. The artist s work of Japonisme blossomed
after the Japanese western trade agreement at the Paris World Fair of 1855. The influence of Japanese
goods and art in the western world embarked a strong blend of culture in art. Prints, as well as other
decorative materials, became exotic goods in the west.
Alfred Stevens was a Belgian painter who was greatly influenced by Japanese culture he housed
numerous trinkets and Japanese goods. His painting shows a young woman dressed in a blue kimono,
a Japanese robe, while holding a fan. During this time of artistic breakthrough, Stevens worked ...

The culture of what is painted and the medium of the painting display interculturalism. The Kimono
robe gave a sense of intimacy within the subjects. The blankness of the backgrounds emphasizes the
women in the foreground and of course their attire. La Parisienne Japonaise was meant to highlight
exoticism in foreign fashion.
Hybrid art follows the contemporary art movement from centuries ago. The term refers to the
combination, or blend, of two different forms of art. This could mean the blurring of cultural, artistic,
and traditional boundaries. The development of these combinations creates new artistic concepts and
documentation of cultural influences. Those of the west may have underrated the simplicity of
Japanese art. The adoption of western style painting gave those of the east the chance to prove they
can be just as talented.
Wisdom, Impression, Sentiment by Chi Kan Jo is an example of Japanese adoption of western
techniques. The painting is from 1899 and made by oil on canvas. This medium defers from those of
traditional Japanese such as ink and print, opening new opportunities. Nudity was not an ideal for
Japanese art at the time, however it was so in the west. This piece shows three nude females in their
mere neutrality. The similar to the piece by Alfred Stevens, the golden, planar background attests to
that of a Japanese folding screen. These incorporations

her, and she could have his belongings, including money, to herself. As said by Grant, the relationship
between Macomber and Margot is based on their mutual weaknesses and could not have survived his

the story that show that Margot was to blame for Francis death. After Francis was shot, Wilson is

Reforms of the German Education System Essay
Reforms of the German education system:
The abolition of the divided secondary school system and a prolonged integrated primary school
In Germany at present six to ten year old pupils visit primary school from first to fourth form. At the
age of ten an allocation takes place: the pupils are divided into four groups depending on intelligence
and achievements at school. The ‘Gymnasium , which is roughly equivalent to grammar school, is
visited by the best ones, and their final examination after eight years of attendance, the ‘Abitur that
more or less corresponds to A levels, allows them to go to university. The average pupils attend the so
called ‘Realschule , and the weak ones go to the ‘Hauptschule for five respectively six years. ...

But the majority of educationalists see the necessity of an early allocation as out dated. No other
country in the world sorts out its pupils as early as Germany. The individual support of pupils is also
possible in very heterogeneous learning groups. The highly talented pupils can be individually
encouraged as well as the pupils who have big problems with learning. The only prerequisite for this
individual support is the fact that not everybody must acquire the same knowledge at school, but each
pupil must obtain a knowledge, which is tailor made for his or her personality and character.
Everybody must have a good individual development of his or her capacities and learning skills. For
this reason the training and further education of teachers must contain how to make distinctions
between highly and less talented pupils in heterogeneous classes.
The divided secondary education system in Germany has a concept, which is very controversial.
Ignoring heterogeneity and distinction due to the fact that they are less comfortable and an attitude
which says: ‘The right pupil for the right school, and if the lesson fails, it is because of the wrong
pupil has bad consequences. Pupils who feel themselves as not being welcome at a place where the
decision on their future is made, unreasonable demands on their performance and speed of learning
before they can develop confidence in their abilities, end in a vicious circle of mutual expectations and
ascriptions.

Traditional Culture Vs. Lean In Health Care
Lean culture is the combination of defining customer value, aligning around a common purpose,
striving for perfection while at the same time respecting and developing employees (O Rourke, 2017).
A Lean culture is an important component of a lean program. It serves as the framework in which lean
tools and techniques are utilized. Without a receptive culture, the lean principles will fail. Leaders
must champion a lean environment aligned with the mission, vision and values of the healthcare
organization. In addition, leaders are tasked with creating an organization culture that is receptive to
lean thinking (Going Lean in Health Care, 2005).
A lean culture differs in many ways from traditional organizational culture. Since the traditional and
lean way vary widely, a conversion requires re conditioning of all those involved. The following table
shows the differences between a traditional and lean culture. Table 1. Traditional Culture versus Lean
Culture.
(Going Lean in Health Care, 2005).
A successful and sustainable lean culture requires new behaviors that start at the very top of the
organization. Leadership can drive the Lean culture change process by setting the behavioral
expectations. The behavior and actions will only produce a culture change if they are modeled from
top to bottom. Leaders must remain committed to the process as a new way of doing business
(Rubrich, 2017). They must constantly drive the same message, involve everyone and guide the

They thought Eliza a little bit weird, but they reacted to Eliza same as other ladies. It was quite
successful achievement for Eliza. Finally, at the ambassador s garden party, she acted perfectly as a
lady. Her English and attitude was too excellent, so everybody thought that she s princess. There was
no doubt that she is a lady, not a flower girl. She finally changed into a lady.
However, it did not really affect the relationship between Eliza and Professor Higgins. While Colonel
Pickering treated her as a lady, Higgins still did not care about her, because she was still a flower girl
for him. There is a nice expression how Professor Higgins thinks about caring Eliza; And I treat
duchess as if she was a flower girl . She felt upset about him for this reason, and she could not endure
anymore, so she left his house after arguing with Higgins.
However she got a serious problem for herself, when the bet was over. Before achieving a goal, she
was concentrated on how became a lady. However

The scientists backed up their argument through the use of evidence that claimed how old the series of
layers of rocks in Lake Mungo are, they found that the rocks were 43,000 years old using the lowest
level of the archaeological site. Since, their argument was justified, they had the right to believe that
Mungo Man was not older than what they claimed. On the other hand, the Australian National
University team had evidence that the layers of rocks at Lake Mungo were 59,000 and 63,000 years
old. Scientists from the University of Melbourne led a group of scientists from a number of
universities in Australia who had then come to a new agreement that claimed that Mungo Man was
40,000 years old. The new age, 40,000 years, is a perfect match with the stratigraphic5 evidence and
the 4 types of dating methods that were put forward from many scientists. This specific age of Mungo
Man is now the age that is accepted by everyone which then concludes to being the second oldest
modern human body remains that were not found in Africa. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, Mungo
woman was found to be 43,000 years old. This, however, was announced after the same scientists
discovered that Mungo woman was around the same age as Mungo man. Before they had discovered
this, they believed she was 30,000 years old. Mungo Woman s remains were then announced as the
oldest human remains to ever be discovered. 17 years ago, Greg Adcock6 along with others collected

Cats Obligate Carnivores
Meat sits at the center of feline nutrition.
Cats are obligate carnivores.
Obligate carnivores are distinct from other predators because they absolutely must consume meat. For
them, meat isn t just a part of a varied diet. It s a biological necessity. From lions to ocelots to
domestic shorthairs, all cats are obligate carnivores. Other animals classified as obligate carnivores are
dolphins, sea lions, ferrets, and mink.
Because of their ancestral raw meat diets provided them, cats cannot produce certain meat sourced
amino acids and vitamins. They re physically incapable of making them in their own bodies, but they
need them nevertheless. The only way for them to get the nutrients they require is through eating
meat.

Since cats thrive on the nutrients provided by raw meat, highly processed, plant based cat foods are

But meat is expensive and corn is cheap. Rice and potatoes are also cheap.
So they tend to show up in cat food more often than the real meat nourishment that your obligate

Some cat food manufacturers inflate protein content by packing the food with indigestible plant

Symbolism in The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas and Sur by...
Guin s Symbolic Meanings Symbolism is commonly used by authors that make short stories. Guin is a
prime example of how much symbolism is used in short stories such as The Ones Who Walk Away
from Omelas and Sur. In both of these stories Guin uses symbolism to show hidden meanings and
ideas. In The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas there is a perfect Utopian city, yet in this perfect
city there is a child locked in a broom closet and it is never let out. A few people leave the city when
they find out about the child, but most people stay. Furthermore, in Sur there is a group of girls that
travel to the South Pole and reach it before anyone else, yet they leave no sign or marker at the South
Pole. Guin s stories are very farfetched ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this in mind both the child in the broom closet and drooz are the two most important symbols in
The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas because they both help reveal the main theme of the story to
the readers. The third most important symbol in The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas is the colors
Guin uses to describe the city of Omelas. Guin uses green and gold the most to describe the city
Omelas and its citizens. She also uses red, silver, white, and dark blue to help describe the city of
Omelas. In The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas gold is used as a symbol for power and wealth,
while green is used as a symbol for energy. Correspondingly The horses wore no gear at all but a
halter without a bit. Their manes were braided with streamers of silver, gold, and green (Guin 1). As
one can see by this quote green and gold are obvious, yet important symbols. Green and gold as
symbols relate back to the citizens and the city of Omelas. Hence green and gold can lead the reader to
find many themes they would not think of without these two very important symbols. In Sur Guin uses
the weather as one of the main symbols. Throughout the whole story of Sur Guin is very descriptive
about the weather. For instance It was over cast, white weather, without shadows and without visible
horizon or any feature to break the level; there was nothing else at all (Guin 167). This quote shows
how Guin is

A Bar At The Folies-Bergre And Les Demoiselles Analysis
In representing female subjects, both Pablo Picasso s oil painting Les Demoiselles d Avignon (1907)
and Édouard Manet s A Bar at the Folies Bergère (1882) manipulate the formal techniques of
composition and perspective to create new ways of seeing their subject, emulating their contemporary
society s shifting views of women and the individual. Les Demoiselles depicts five naked prostitutes,
flaunting their bodies, and some wearing tribal masks. In comparison, A Bar at the Folies Bergère
represents a female, who may also be a prostitute, tending a bar. The depiction of previously hidden
female subjects alone was an innovation of the perception of the artist, however, the formal treatment
in representing these subjects was an important break from tradition. Despite evident differences in the
compositional elements of Picasso s Les Demoiselles and Manet s A Bar at the Folies Bergère, both
utilise a composition with a shallow plane to distort visual perception in their work. This distortion
promotes the spectator to revaluate the way they perceive these female prostitute subjects. Picasso s
treatment of paint and use blocked colours in Les Demoiselles creates the sensation of a flat, two
dimensional image, signifying a radical break from traditional modes of representation. The lack of
depth in the painting pushes the figures of female prostitutes on top of each other, layering the stark
angles and sharp forms that make up their bodies. In addition, this layering on such a large scale
(243.9 cm × 233 cm) creates a feeling that the figures are pushing beyond the boundaries of the work
and imposing themselves onto the spectator. Furthermore, the stances of the prostitutes, who are
dramatically flaunting their bodies with arms raised and torsos presented openly, fills the frame,
refusing the spectator to accesses to other areas of the image. Instead the female figures dominate the
attention of the viewer, in some ways empowering these figures who previously lacked representation.
These formal elements of composition all come together in Les Demoiselles to challenge the spectator
s ways of viewing the females in the work. Similarly, in The Bar at the Folies Bergère Manet also uses
compositional elements to shape

My Journey In My Life
When I was a child, my father always came to me and told me a quote, but over the years I have
changed it into my own and now I live by it everyday: Tomorrow is a brand new day, and a gift from
yesterday. If you ve failed, rise from your ashes and create your own path and leave a trail behind
because you cannot take others paths to live your life. Life is your adventure and what you make of it.
I have always loved life and the people that are in it. Since I was a child I have had the biggest dreams
of going and doing anything I wanted to be and that nothing was going to stop me. To pursue and
make that any dream come true I focused on these three things: being determined, encouraging others,

After the first semester, we will be shadowing nurses in the Salida Hospital and seeing what they deal
with hand on hand.
With that, I have always loved helping people break not only from their comfort zone but helping
them achieve better than they have before. An example of this is when someone needs help, I ask them
what is stopping them from achieving, I push and make them fight for what they want. This same
tactic is what a nurse needs to help her/him succeed in encouraging patients that they can do it. I
attended the 2017 Summer Student Council Camp, and just telling my story of pushing through my
rough patch in my life encouraged others to say to themselves they don t only have it hard too , and I
saw personally how my story affected them and they pushed harder and took life in a different
perspective.
Additionally, I have always put my heart and soul into all that I do, I have always strived and been a
very hardworker. For instance, I worked weeks on a paper for entering the Sangre De Cristo Youth
Tour for the Colorado Electric Assassination and after all my hours of putting thought and organizing
papers, I won the trip to Washington DC through my Electric Co op, which was an honor all in itself.

month. During school hours teachers have to teach instead of printing off their papers, so that is where

Anabolic Steroids And Its Effects On The Body
A 16 year old high school junior was told by his coach that he needed to be stronger and faster if he
wanted to play more in his senior year. The young man was discouraged because he has been trying
for years to gain weight and muscle, but it just was not enough. He remembered a friend telling him
about what anabolic steroids had done for him and decided to try it, he would later regret that
decision. Anabolic steroids are drugs that reciprocate certain natural hormones in the body such as the
male hormone testosterone, which can improve endurance and performance and stimulate muscle
growth. Even though anabolic steroids may provide the body image and results some adolescents
want, they can be harmful to the adolescent body and mind, it s not fair to those who gained weight
and muscle naturally because they may have a smaller chance of recognition, and there are safer
alternatives that can assist in gaining weight and muscle. According to Dr. Ali Mohamadi, a medical
doctor from the FDA, states that, Various studies have been conducted and generally reflect the
findings of a Youth Risk and Behavior Surveillance System study, which estimated that among U.S.
high school students, 4.9% of males and 2.4% of females have used anabolic steroids at least once in
their lives. That s 375,000 young men and 175,000 young women. Anabolic steroids can pose a major
threat to the adolescent body and mind, especially if they are abused over a long period of time. The

The Importance Of Gender Equality
A controversial topic that still brings about heated debated is gender equality. Furthermore, the
movement historically consisted mostly of women fighting for equal rights. Fifty years after the
ratification of the nineteenth amendment, American women began lobbying for the Equal Rights
Amendment. Phyllis Schlafly s What s Wrong with Equal Rights for Women?, was a passionate
publication highlighting disadvantages women would suffer if the amendment succeeded. The article
spotlights adverse effects that would consequently befall the everyday married women and mother.
Although the article roused the typical American family to stop the ratification of the Equal Rights
Amendment, the text is detrimental to the progress of the gender equality movement because it
dictates that people should be content with conventional gender roles, which completely disregards the
genuine goal of equality. Despite the fact she advocates women s rights, her views on religion, family
and sex are unprogressive and traditionalistic. Schlafly initially introduces the audience to the topic of
religion, and employs it in a manner that leaves the current day reader exasperated. All people have
encountered religion at some point in their lives, and have definitive emotions about it. She starts by
explaining that women, not men, have babies and that its simply the way God made us (1). While her
use of logos here is effective, she alienates her non religious readers with the mention of God.

LEGO s major threat can be seen in the varying nature of the market in the run up until 2004. Where it
has remained the market leader of construction toys, it should be taken into account that LEGO s
traditional toys have been widely replaced by substitutes in the electronic sector. Despite such threats
to the core product offering in this trend in the run up to 2004, the company could turn around this
situation and use this threat as an opportunity to diversify in markets such as games and films as well
as the development of non traditional LEGO products. In the years preceding 2004, LEGO already
had practice with diversification into direct retails with its very own LEGO stores and the launch of
the LEGO Land amusement parks. However this signifies as a substantial opportunity for further
development.

Compare And Contrast Middle School And High School
Middle school vs High school 1 Many people endure three years of middle school and four years of
high school. It is an eventful time for children between 11 to 18 years old. During the adolescent years
there are hormonal changes, environmental changes and emotional developmental gains. Middle
school is the beginning of transitioning towards independence under the constant eye of adults. During
high school they are challenged with real world challenges that help them transition into adulthood.
The behaviors of these individuals change as the factors change around them. For every person, the
experience of high school or middle school may be different. Either way, both have the same goal of
wanting the student to succeed and evolve. Even so, the similarities and differences vary. Middle
school and high school are alike in the areas of receiving an education, socializing with others, and
having teachers while different in areas of maturity, difficulty in work, and independence. 2 Middle
school and high school are alike in the aspect that individuals are receiving an education. Both groups
go to learn many different subjects that vary depending on the student. Either way it is to ensure that
each student is gaining an education for future endeavors. Both groups have many teachers that they
encounter each day. That is a prime characteristic of school which truly makes a school function. The
teachers teach, grade, and guide the students to help them create a firm understanding.

Literary Themes In Okja
In a world where the problem of mass hunger persists, the perpetual need to find new ways to feed the
hungry has grown immensely. From new types of farming techniques to using different types of
fertilizers, genetically modified organisms have become the trend to stopping world hunger.
Consequently, many have chosen to ridicule the ethicality of using biotechnology to modify animals
for consumers. Most notably, the movie Okja, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows a young girl named,
Mija, as she goes on a quest to save her super pig, Okja, stripped from her by a heartless corporation.
The clear underlying theme revolves around the idea of loss of innocence and is employed through
many elements of literature described in Thomas C. Foster s How to Read Literature Like a Professor:
placement of geography, a metaphorical vampire, and a hero s quest Throughout the movie, Okja, the
geological settings help accentuate important scenes and give depth to the story. As stated in Foster s
book, Hills and valleys have a life of their own (Fostern 181). The altitudes of the high mountains and
low valleys play as symbolic environments. Likewise, Okja and Mija s home lies up in the lush hills
where they are isolated from the main city of Seoul. The hills represent a paradise where Mija has
grown up in and symbolizes Mija s youthfulness and innocence. It s only when Mija leaves the
mountains to chase after Okja that she encounters the hustle and bustle of the big city. After a group

America s Impact On The Planet Essay
As a species that continues to evolve and expand on this planet, humans have made many lasting
impacts to their home. Some of these changes often go generally unnoticed, such as the shift in
popular music, or fashion trends. Even transitions from job to job, or relocating to a new city seem to
weigh lightly on the general public. However, unbeknownst to us, we as a species have a far greater
impact on this planet than we would like to admit. Throughout our day to day lives we tend to
unknowingly impact and mold or future. It can be something as simple as forgetting to recycle that jug
of milk, or neglecting to clean up a spill after a self done oil change. Even the foods we eat and the
way we manufacture them have a lasting effect on the planet. Perhaps one of the more noticeable ways
we as a society affect the Earth though is how we build upon it. With much of the global population
centralized in urban areas, and there continued growth. It is interesting to observe the way in which
this urbanized land reacts to human interference. One of the more interesting aspects of urbanization is
the use and management of water. With the continued expansion of cities, and the modification of the
land in which these concrete jungles cover, changes to land are inevitable. In his book Urban Storm
Water Management, Hormoz Pazwash briefly summarizes some of the impacts urbanization has to
land, and water quality stating. Urban development alters the natural process of storm water runoff.

The Treaty of Versailles Resulted in Another Huge War
The treaty of Versailles, written in Paris Peace Conference by four allied nations, contributed to the
culmination of World War I between Germany and those four nations, which were United States,
France, Great Britain and Italy. Even though the purpose of the treaty was to prevent further conflict
and war, it, in fact, failed to treat all nations justifiably, including the losers of the war (Germany),
because it mandated Germany to solely compensate for the loss and damages caused by the war. The
restrictions treated Germany like a colony and eventually led to the decrease of German military
forces, financial bankruptcy caused by excessive reparation and the rise of Nazis which triggered
World War II. First of all, according to the section five of Article 159 213 of the treaty, Germany was
limited to carry or maintain certain number of troops which led to significant decrease in total military
forces. The treaty forced Germany to keep navy, army and air force as small as possible (1).
Additionally, the number of army was diminished to 100,000 troops with no armored vehicles and
they were limited to six battleships, six light cruisers, twelve destroyers, twelve torpedo and no
submarines (1). What is worse is the fact that Germany was not able to defend itself anymore as it had
to get rid of bunkers, defense systems and mines from rivers, seas and harbors (1) and was prohibited
to possess poison gas, armed aircraft, tanks, blockades on ships and armored cars (2).

Essay On Perinatal Care
Status of perinatal care at international and national level
At least half of all stillbirths occurred in the intrapartum period. Among the 133 million babies born
alive each year, 2.8 million die in the first week of life. The patterns of these deaths are similar to the
patterns for maternal deaths; the majority occurring in developing countries. Quality skilled care
during pregnancy and childbirth are key for the health of the baby and the mother. In the regions with
the highest neonatal mortality rates, access to postnatal care is abysmally low. In the majority of
countries with data in sub Saharan African and South Asia, fewer than half of mothers and babies
receive a postnatal health check.

However, the global advance in child survival continues to elude many of the world s youngest and
most vulnerable children. Of the 6.3 million children who died before age 5 in 2013, 16 per cent took
their first and final breaths on the day they were born. Altogether, 44 per cent died during the first 28
days of life. In 2013 the world suffered the loss of 2.8 million newborn babies. These staggering
statistics are all the more tragic given that low cost, evidence based solutions are increasingly
available, even in some of the most remote places. In 2013, almost 1 million newborns died on the day
they were born, accounting for 16 per cent of all under five deaths and more than a third of all
neonatal deaths.4 A total of 2 million newborns died within the first seven days after birth,
representing 73 per cent of all neonatal deaths (figure 16). Between 1990 and 2013, 86 million
newborn babies born worldwide died within their first 28 days of life.
Reasons of perinatal Deaths
Perinatal mortality refers to the no of deaths in the first week of life and no of fetal deaths (stillbirths).
Causes and determinants of neonatal deaths and stillbirths differ from those causing and contributing
to early neonatal and child deaths. Neonatal deaths and stillbirths emanate from poor maternal health,
ineffective care during pregnancy, improper management of complications during pregnancy and
delivery, poor hygienic conditions and the

Oil Sands Case Study
Canada has the world s third largest oil proved reserves, 96% of which are in the oil sands [1*]. In the
recent years, oil sands has held a significant role in the Canadian economy and energy security due to
pioneering movements and emerging technologies in this industry [2, 3]. However, the oil industry,
with its history of booms and busts [4], is currently in its worst economic standing since 1990s. The
recent drop in oil prices in the global market has directly affected the energy sectors and highly
influenced different industries. Despite the increasing global oil demand [5], Canadian oil has been
trading at a discounted value to compete with other conventional oil producers in the market [6, 7].
The position of oil sands in the energy market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, there is a need to thoroughly investigate the current and future feasibility of oil sands
production and transportation not only in Canada but also around the world.
There is a high level of uncertainty and volatility involved in energy markets [11, 12], the interactions
of which with energy price and emissions regulations are significant. To address these uncertainties
and investigate their impacts on the role of oil sands, a global dynamic energy market is proposed.
This model aims at studying the behavior of different energy sources (including oil sands) in
competition with each other in the planning horizon. In this model, uncertain parameters (i.e., energy
demand, regional prices, regulations, and innovations) are forecasted and inputted into the model and
the behavior of oil sands industry (i.e., in terms of production level) in competition with alternative
energy sources (i.e., conventional fossil fuels, renewables, etc.) is determined. To develop this model,
several tools and techniques are applied, the combination of which has not been thoroughly considered
in the literature.

class status. But we can choose our futures... You are still an educable child. He meant that just
because Ji Li grandpa was a one of the richest landlords in the city and to everyone by default Ji Li
and her family was considered Four old. Which means old customs, ideas, culture, and habits. The
worst thing to be considered during those times of 1966 in China because it could lead to you and your
family being ridiculed and jailed. Throughout all that he believed she was still able to be educated to
become anything she ever wanted to be in the future.
Hearing teacher Zhang tell Ji Li this really hit home for me. I remember being in kindergarten at

Through it all Ji Li had prevailed. After Mao passed Ji Li then began to realize just how bad of a
leader Mao really was. During those times you had to really think before you said anything. One bad
outburst could lead to prison or making your own people turn on you. Mao was a sick man but he
couldn t break Ji li. Now she has a part of history and lessons she can teach to her students.
During the development of Ji Li, her strongest influencers was her Teacher Zhang and her family.
Teacher Zhang was an incredible influencer for telling Ji Li that she could be anything she wanted to
be in life. Who knew after hearing and seeing so much tragedy she experienced during those times,
her favorite teacher would say something so powerful. After her dreams of being in the red army was
shattered because of her family s past. Before that, Ji Li had lost hope. Hearing that lifted her spirits
and made her believe that she was a great student and will be that person she could ever dream of

The Pros And Cons Of Malcolm X
Throughout our nation s history, people have been doing things, both significant and unnoticed, to
promote change in our country. Some of the earliest activists were those living in America and
attacking British tax collectors to oppose the British reign in America clear up until the United States
of America decided to part from the King all together. Later there were individuals like Harriet
Tubman, who wanted to bring an end to slavery and contributed to the cause by helping slaves escape
from their plantations. Regardless of the time period or the cause for the activists, those individuals
are still an important part of the country. It is important that we continue to have activists who stand
up for what they believe in, in order to get change to occur in the way the government handles certain
issues. A lesser known modern activist, Kirsten Gillibrand, is continuing to stand up for what she ...

Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little, but decided to change his name at some point because he
considered his last name to be a slave name and wanted to change that piece of his family s history.
Malcolm was passionate about his cause, to say the least, and believed that only black people could
change their unequal fate in America. Due to that philosophy, Malcolm did not allow for whites to
help his Black Power party in any way, shape, or form. Malcolm also believed that black individuals
should protect their rights by any means necessary and that inflicting violence was acceptable because
it was for the cause. He was into focusing on religions for his background philosophy and even
ditched the concept of racism when he found the Black Muslim religion did not support it. He was
shot at one of his rallies, but he was fully aware that he was not liked by everyone and that his life

Filing Systems May Not Be Electronic Or Manual
Filing systems may either be electronic or manual. An organisation will probably utilise a combination
of both systems, choosing the most suitable arrangement for the data that is to be stored. Regardless of
the type of system adopted, it should be effective and efficient, accessible, accurate, reliable and user
friendly. In a school setting, both electronic and manual filing systems are used on a daily basis. To
give an example; A manual filing system is used to store individual pupil s confidential information.
Each pupil has their own file; this is filed alphabetically and held in a filing cabinet in the school
office. The child s file contains confidential information such as date of birth, address, family history
and medical details. This filing cabinet is kept locked at all times to ensure that children s information
is protected and respected and only available for viewing by authorised staff. An electronic filing
system is used to record the school s financial transactions. This is a very thorough and rigorous
method for storing such important details. The system generates orders; payments and reports that
enable the head teacher and school business manager to monitor spend and control budgets. This
system is only accessible to the school business manager and access is protected by a password. Filing
systems may be used to store information that is readily available to anyone to browse, such as
telephone numbers of schools within the local education authority.

Kaffee has adilemma; his personal feelings concerning people who abuse others who aren t able to
defend themselves get in the way. In short Kaffe does not want to defend these marines. His normal
course of action would have been to request a plea bargain. However JoanneGalloway played by Demi
Moore, his co council and superior officer convinces him not to go that route. Kaffe starts work hard
on the case. As time goes on he discovers that Dawson and Downey are really not to blame at all. The
problem rests squarely with Jessup. When this discovery is made Kaffe holds colonel Jessup culpable.
This puts Kaffe s name and career at great risk. over time it became very important for Kaffee to
vindicate the marines and to bring down Jessup. This in his mind was proper justice and also
something true, noble, and outside of himself. He even came to accept that fulfilling his fathers
footsteps did not matter. Most civilians would label Jessup s actions as cruel and cold hearted and
vicious. They would view thesituation from a Teleological framework, which means they would be
thinking about theconsequences of Jessup s actions. However, civilians are not marines and therefore
do not understand the point of the situation. The point is to adherence to military rules. In fact proper

Benefits Of Sociological Imagination Sociological Imagination is defined as enables its possessor to understand the larger historical scene in terms of its meaning for the inner life and the external career of a variety of individual in the reading by Garth Massey. We are going to go over the benefits of sociological imagination, understand how it plays a huge concept in the world we live in, and finally the relation sociological imagination play in suicide and eating disorders. Benefits of sociological imagination are that Mills theory does provide us with a better understanding of how people do communicate. Anomic suicide makes individuals feel lost or alone in society. For example teen suicide, the teen cannot relate to another individual. Egotistic suicide is a total detachment from society. He argues that suicide is a social factor. The social factors he argues are social surroundings and whether the individual is integrated in social structure. • 4. Angela s Duty In Angelas Ashes William Faulkner possesses a strong idea that a writer is given the privilege and duty of making man prevail. According to Faulkner this is the only thing that makes writing worth the effort put into it, and if an author cannot accomplish this duty there is no need for writing at all. Faulkner simplifies this complex obligation by presenting man as he really is through the thruths of his heart, which means including what really happens to man from agony to compassion and sacrifice and endurance. Many authors, including Frank McCourt, take on this duty and create a piece of literature that depicts man as his true self in order to assure he prevails instead of merely edur[ing]. Frank McCourt honors this duty as a writer throughout his memoir, Angela s Ashes. McCourt describes his journey to adult hood in a genuine way that shows not only the positive, but also the agonizing parts of his life. McCourt includes these completely contrasting types of experiences in order to help him accomplish the writer s duty because they both involve immense amounts of feeling. The writer s duty in McCourt s work is expressed throughout the entire work from McCourt s life as a child in the beginning of his memoir to the end as he becomes a true man. ... • 5. The Rise Of The Adult Entertainment Industry The rise of the adult entertainment industry has exploded in both popularity and accessibility within the last thirty years as a result of the emergence of pay per view adult movies, pornographic websites, and 1 900 phone lines. The number of topless bars, exotic car washes, X rated theaters, and massage parlors in business has boomed greatly. Within this time, United States Supreme Court decisions recognized that First Amendment protection might very well extend to some types of non obscene pornography and nude dancing as a form of nonverbal expressive speech (1). Though consequently, the possibility for such First Amendment right protection paved the way for increases in adult businesses. Although it may seem unlikely, the fate of First Amendment freedoms is irrevocably linked to the ongoing conflict between the agents administering the adult entertainment and those who defend public decency. The expansion of adult business have generated intense concern among communities, with many individuals believing that the proliferation of adult material including X rated movie viewing facilities, topless bars, and adult bookstores, ultimately threatens property values, and are morally hazardous to their community (2). As a strong trend to regulate such businesses, governments around the country, and specifically in North Carolina, have begun to significantly restrict the locations of such adult oriented establishments. It was during the 1890s, this newspaper would cause a war between the United States and Spain. What would plunge America into the Spanish America was that William Randolph Hearst wrote a story of America in a war with Cuba, which he said would not just sell millions of papers, but make him the head honcho of the newspaper business. Although the journal is influence to future news stories, some modern critics have considered Yellow Journalism as disclosure of privacy. According to Vanaik, Yellow journalism must be opposed, but it is astonishing that methods that restrict the democratic rights of freedom of the press and journalists, specifically the right of journalists to protect their sources, should be advocated to tackle problems which should and can be dealt with by methods when are not restrictive of basic liberties. According to Kevin Shultz (2014), the Spanish was the first to settle early colonization in North America. Unfortunately, contact with the Spanish reduced the population by twenty percent in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries due to exposure to diseases. Shultz (2014) also states that the native people were abused brutally by the Spanish. The Spanish forced the natives into slavery to mine for gold. • 8. Discipleship In The Gospels Of John And Luke-Acts Each of the four Gospels contains points in ecclesiology. In the Great Commission, Jesus last instruction to the Apostles is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching people (Matthew 28:19 20). For Jesus mission to continue and for his Church to grow, discipleship is necessary. Discipleship is a prominent theme in all four Gospels, for purposes of this essay, only the Gospels of John and Luke Acts will be analyzed. The similarities regarding discipleship in these Gospels include images of the net and fishing, and the sheep/shepherd/sheepfold. The differences include the preparing of the Twelve to carry on Jesus ministry in Luke, and service to the community and passing of authority in John s Gospel. According to Matera, Luke Acts is a well defined set of time periods. The Gospel is considered the time of Jesus and Acts is the time of the Church. The time of Jesus in Luke s Gospel foreshadows the Church (Matera, 7). As stated in Stanton, Luke set out the story of Jesus as a prelude to the story of the origin and growth of the early Church (Stanton, 80). John, on the other hand, focuses on Christology and the teachings of Jesus to the community (Matera, 9). Both Gospels contain strong references to discipleship, which form the basis for the Church. In both Luke and John, fishing and the image of the net allude to discipleship. In Luke Chapter 5, the disciples have fished all night and returned the next morning with nothing. In this paper I will define the Semiotics, Semiology and Difference then I will give the views and beliefs of the three of the masterminds behind these terms. Firstly, Semiology and Semiotics are two related disciplines, which study semiotics, the relation of significance involving signs, object and mind, and classification of signs. Semiotics is a synonym for Semiology. Semiotics is defined as the study of signs and symbols and their interpretation, while Semiology is semiotics, the study of signs. According to Swiss Linguist and Semiotician Ferdinand de Saussure semiotics is the science of signs. Saussure in Course in General Linguistics, said the roles of signs are part of our social life . • 12. Descriptive Essay On Astronomy Camp Astronomy Camp Slam! I shut the car door behind me. This would be the first year on my own, away from my home and my family. I set my feet on the rough, yet new looking gravel road and let out a sigh. From behind, I hear cars coming my way, and I look around at my surroundings as I grab my things. Trees of all shapes and forms surround me, their green leaves and giant branches enticing me to get closer. I swallow a lump that forms in my throat, urging the already swarming butterflies in my stomach to calm down. This year, I would meet new people and make new friends, it was thrilling. Yet beneath it all, I found myself anxious of the upcoming week. I look around at the trees, trying to convince myself that it wouldn t be so bad. The camp was small, only 3 buildings, but it was quaint.I glance at the buildings of wood and stone surrounding me, and I notice a woman on the porch. She sits with a smile, her lengthy hair down on the ground. I m drawn to her like a sheep to a shepherd and I grab my stuff, walking to her. The woman stands and I note she is short and stout. Though she spoke with power and intelligence, she had a soft and kind tone to her voice. She welcomes me into the camp, showing me to a room where I will be sleeping. I put my substantial load on the bed, grabbing my sleeping bag and pillow. I walk out and notice two new campers have arrived, I feel my heart begin to pound within my chest. Hybrid art follows the contemporary art movement from centuries ago. The term refers to the combination, or blend, of two different forms of art. This could mean the blurring of cultural, artistic, and traditional boundaries. The development of these combinations creates new artistic concepts and documentation of cultural influences. But the majority of educationalists see the necessity of an early allocation as out dated. No other country in the world sorts out its pupils as early as Germany. The individual support of pupils is also possible in very heterogeneous learning groups. The highly talented pupils can be individually encouraged as well as the pupils who have big problems with learning. The only prerequisite for this individual support is the fact that not everybody must acquire the same knowledge at school, but each pupil must obtain a knowledge, which is tailor made for his or her personality and character. Everybody must have a good individual development of his or her capacities and learning skills. For this reason the training and further education of teachers must contain how to make distinctions between highly and less talented pupils in heterogeneous classes. The divided secondary education system in Germany has a concept, which is very controversial. Lean In Health Care Lean culture is the combination of defining customer value, aligning around a common purpose, striving for perfection while at the same time respecting and developing employees (O Rourke, 2017). A Lean culture is an important component of a lean program. It serves as the framework in which lean tools and techniques are utilized. Without a receptive culture, the lean principles will fail. Leaders must champion a lean environment aligned with the mission, vision and values of the healthcare organization. In addition, leaders are tasked with creating an organization culture that is receptive to lean thinking (Going Lean in Health Care, 2005). A lean culture differs in many ways from traditional organizational culture. Since the traditional and lean way vary widely, a conversion requires re conditioning of all those involved. The following table shows the differences between a traditional and lean culture. Table 1. Traditional Culture versus Lean Culture. (Going Lean in Health Care, 2005). A successful and sustainable lean culture requires new behaviors that start at the very top of the organization. Leadership can drive the Lean culture change process by setting the behavioral expectations. The behavior and actions will only produce a culture change if they are modeled from top to bottom. Leaders must remain committed to the process as a new way of doing business (Rubrich, 2017). They must constantly drive the same message, involve everyone and guide the cultural ... • 29. A Bar At The Folies-Bergre And Les Demoiselles Analysis In representing female subjects, both Pablo Picasso s oil painting Les Demoiselles d Avignon (1907) and Édouard Manet s A Bar at the Folies Bergère (1882) manipulate the formal techniques of composition and perspective to create new ways of seeing their subject, emulating their contemporary society s shifting views of women and the individual. Les Demoiselles depicts five naked prostitutes, flaunting their bodies, and some wearing tribal masks. In comparison, A Bar at the Folies Bergère represents a female, who may also be a prostitute, tending a bar. The depiction of previously hidden female subjects alone was an innovation of the perception of the artist, however, the formal treatment in representing these subjects was an important break from tradition. Despite evident differences in the compositional elements of Picasso s Les Demoiselles and Manet s A Bar at the Folies Bergère, both utilise a composition with a shallow plane to distort visual perception in their work. This distortion promotes the spectator to revaluate the way they perceive these female prostitute subjects. Picasso s treatment of paint and use blocked colours in Les Demoiselles creates the sensation of a flat, two dimensional image, signifying a radical break from traditional modes of representation. The lack of depth in the painting pushes the figures of female prostitutes on top of each other, layering the stark angles and sharp forms that make up their bodies. In addition, this layering on such a large scale (243.9 cm × 233 cm) creates a feeling that the figures are pushing beyond the boundaries of the work and imposing themselves onto the spectator. Furthermore, the stances of the prostitutes, who are dramatically flaunting their bodies with arms raised and torsos presented openly, fills the frame, refusing the spectator to accesses to other areas of the image. Instead the female figures dominate the attention of the viewer, in some ways empowering these figures who previously lacked representation. These formal elements of composition all come together in Les Demoiselles to challenge the spectator s ways of viewing the females in the work. Similarly, in The Bar at the Folies Bergère Manet also uses compositional elements to shape ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Anabolic Steroids And Its Effects On The Body A 16 year old high school junior was told by his coach that he needed to be stronger and faster if he wanted to play more in his senior year. The young man was discouraged because he has been trying for years to gain weight and muscle, but it just was not enough. He remembered a friend telling him about what anabolic steroids had done for him and decided to try it, he would later regret that decision. Anabolic steroids are drugs that reciprocate certain natural hormones in the body such as the male hormone testosterone, which can improve endurance and performance and stimulate muscle growth. Even though anabolic steroids may provide the body image and results some adolescents want, they can be harmful to the adolescent body and mind, it s not fair to those who gained weight and muscle naturally because they may have a smaller chance of recognition, and there are safer alternatives that can assist in gaining weight and muscle. According to Dr. Ali Mohamadi, a medical doctor from the FDA, states that, Various studies have been conducted and generally reflect the findings of a Youth Risk and Behavior Surveillance System study, which estimated that among U.S. high school students, 4.9% of males and 2.4% of females have used anabolic steroids at least once in their lives. Furthermore, the movement historically consisted mostly of women fighting for equal rights. Fifty years after the ratification of the nineteenth amendment, American women began lobbying for the Equal Rights Amendment. Phyllis Schlafly s What s Wrong with Equal Rights for Women?, was a passionate publication highlighting disadvantages women would suffer if the amendment succeeded. The article spotlights adverse effects that would consequently befall the everyday married women and mother. Although the article roused the typical American family to stop the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, the text is detrimental to the progress of the gender equality movement because it dictates that people should be content with conventional gender roles, which completely disregards the genuine goal of equality. Despite the fact she advocates women s rights, her views on religion, family and sex are unprogressive and traditionalistic. Schlafly initially introduces the audience to the topic of religion, and employs it in a manner that leaves the current day reader exasperated. All people have encountered religion at some point in their lives, and have definitive emotions about it. She starts by explaining that women, not men, have babies and that its simply the way God made us (1). From new types of farming techniques to using different types of fertilizers, genetically modified organisms have become the trend to stopping world hunger. Most notably, the movie Okja, directed by Bong Joon Ho, follows a young girl named, Mija, as she goes on a quest to save her super pig, Okja, stripped from her by a heartless corporation. The clear underlying theme revolves around the idea of loss of innocence and is employed through many elements of literature described in Thomas C. Some of these changes often go generally unnoticed, such as the shift in popular music, or fashion trends. Even transitions from job to job, or relocating to a new city seem to weigh lightly on the general public. However, unbeknownst to us, we as a species have a far greater impact on this planet than we would like to admit. Throughout our day to day lives we tend to unknowingly impact and mold or future. It can be something as simple as forgetting to recycle that jug of milk, or neglecting to clean up a spill after a self done oil change. Even the foods we eat and the way we manufacture them have a lasting effect on the planet. Perhaps one of the more noticeable ways we as a society affect the Earth though is how we build upon it. With much of the global population centralized in urban areas, and there continued growth. It is interesting to observe the way in which this urbanized land reacts to human interference. One of the more interesting aspects of urbanization is the use and management of water. With the continued expansion of cities, and the modification of the land in which these concrete jungles cover, changes to land are inevitable. In his book Urban Storm Water Management, Hormoz Pazwash briefly summarizes some of the impacts urbanization has to land, and water quality stating. • 38. The Treaty of Versailles Resulted in Another Huge War The treaty of Versailles, written in Paris Peace Conference by four allied nations, contributed to the culmination of World War I between Germany and those four nations, which were United States, France, Great Britain and Italy. Even though the purpose of the treaty was to prevent further conflict and war, it, in fact, failed to treat all nations justifiably, including the losers of the war (Germany), because it mandated Germany to solely compensate for the loss and damages caused by the war. The restrictions treated Germany like a colony and eventually led to the decrease of German military forces, financial bankruptcy caused by excessive reparation and the rise of Nazis which triggered World War II. First of all, according to the section five of Article 159 213 of the treaty, Germany was limited to carry or maintain certain number of troops which led to significant decrease in total military forces. The treaty forced Germany to keep navy, army and air force as small as possible (1). Additionally, the number of army was diminished to 100,000 troops with no armored vehicles and they were limited to six battleships, six light cruisers, twelve destroyers, twelve torpedo and no submarines (1). What is worse is the fact that Germany was not able to defend itself anymore as it had to get rid of bunkers, defense systems and mines from rivers, seas and harbors (1) and was prohibited to possess poison gas, armed aircraft, tanks, blockades on ships and armored cars (2). ... An organisation will probably utilise a combination of both systems, choosing the most suitable arrangement for the data that is to be stored. In a school setting, both electronic and manual filing systems are used on a daily basis. To give an example; A manual filing system is used to store individual pupil s confidential information. Each pupil has their own file; this is filed alphabetically and held in a filing cabinet in the school office.
