Summer internship at
patel infrastructure
Duration: 2/6/2019 to 15/6/2019
Site Location :- sathana (kgbot 2)
ajmer rajasthan
Base camp
Date 3rd to 7th June
• 5 days were allocated for understanding laboratory
experiment.
• Ongoing experiment were explained by engineers in
working hours.
• Mainly for concrete, aggregate, soil, and bitumen
Soil tests
• Grain size analysis text
• Proctor compaction test
• California bearing ratio test
• As property of soil changes by different locations tests
were carried for that portion
• And for each location optimum moisture content and
maximum dry density is find out
Concrete and aggregate test
• For concrete : compression test were carried out and for
aggregate impact test is carried out
• Cubes were casted at working site and bring to laboratory for
curing and to test at 3, 7, & 28 days
• At time of testing senior engineers come for verification of
strength of cube
Bitumen test
• At time of internship we learned DBM (Dense bitumen
macadam) test and grain size analysis test for bitumen
• From DBM test we can find out optimum bitumen content
From 8th to 12th June
• Next 5 days we went for on site road construction it was
of widening of existing road
• At site leveling of original ground level is done by auto
level instrument
• Site engineer explained how to do surveying and
levelling and to how to use the instrument .
• And earthwork is carried out
GSB layer
• After the Earth Work the Sub-Base of the road is
constructed with Granular sub-base (GSB) and
compacted in layers not exceeding 100mm.
WBM Base-Course
• Once the Sub-Base is prepared, the base course is required to
provide the strength to the road.
• Generally, the base course is constructed with the help of stone
metal and other suitable materials.
WBM Base-Course
Water Bound Macadam (WBM) base course is constructed with graded aggregate
in two or three layers as per the design. Thereafter, binding material is applied
and sprinkling of water is repeated
From 13th to 15th june
• Last 3 days we went for observation of bridge construction
• At site construction of bridge girder is done.
• Placing of reinforcement and form work was carried out that
time.

Summer internship at patel infrastructure

  • 1. Summer internship at patel infrastructure Duration: 2/6/2019 to 15/6/2019 Site Location :- sathana (kgbot 2) ajmer rajasthan
  • 3. Date 3rd to 7th June • 5 days were allocated for understanding laboratory experiment. • Ongoing experiment were explained by engineers in working hours. • Mainly for concrete, aggregate, soil, and bitumen
  • 4. Soil tests • Grain size analysis text • Proctor compaction test • California bearing ratio test • As property of soil changes by different locations tests were carried for that portion • And for each location optimum moisture content and maximum dry density is find out

  • 6. Concrete and aggregate test • For concrete : compression test were carried out and for aggregate impact test is carried out • Cubes were casted at working site and bring to laboratory for curing and to test at 3, 7, & 28 days • At time of testing senior engineers come for verification of strength of cube
  • 7. Bitumen test • At time of internship we learned DBM (Dense bitumen macadam) test and grain size analysis test for bitumen • From DBM test we can find out optimum bitumen content
  • 8. From 8th to 12th June • Next 5 days we went for on site road construction it was of widening of existing road • At site leveling of original ground level is done by auto level instrument • Site engineer explained how to do surveying and levelling and to how to use the instrument . • And earthwork is carried out
  • 9. GSB layer • After the Earth Work the Sub-Base of the road is constructed with Granular sub-base (GSB) and compacted in layers not exceeding 100mm.
  • 10. WBM Base-Course • Once the Sub-Base is prepared, the base course is required to provide the strength to the road. • Generally, the base course is constructed with the help of stone metal and other suitable materials.
  • 11. WBM Base-Course Water Bound Macadam (WBM) base course is constructed with graded aggregate in two or three layers as per the design. Thereafter, binding material is applied and sprinkling of water is repeated
  • 12. From 13th to 15th june • Last 3 days we went for observation of bridge construction • At site construction of bridge girder is done. • Placing of reinforcement and form work was carried out that time.
