3. PAVEMENT
• The hard surface of a road or street.
• It helps them to make durable and
able to withstand traffic and the
environment.
• They have a life span of 20 – 30
years.
4. FUNCTIONS OF PAVEMENT
• One of the primary functions is load
distribution.
• This helps in eliminating moisture
problems such as mud and ponding.
9. CONFLEX PAVE
• Conflex Pave is a new ultra-loose concrete that could revolutionize road
construction.
• Pave conflex concrete has been developed by the Center for Innovation in
Industrial Infrastructure Nan yang Technical University in Singapore.
• This concrete is much like the conventional concrete, in addition that very
fine polymer fibers is necessary.
• It has characteristics of both flexible and rigid
Pavement.

10. CONFLEX PAVE(contd..)
• With this concrete ,structures could be
designed smaller thickness, offering
high strength and flexibility.
• In addition to the use of prefabricated
concrete slabs, Pave conflex increase
durability of structures .
• Quick installation, thus it has the time
for road works and new pavements.
11. CONFLEX PAVE(contd..)
• It is also more sustainable, requiring
less maintenance.
• It allows the concrete to flex and
bend under tension.
• It enhances skid resistance.
13. PROPERTIES
• It has low flexural strength.
• Transmit vertical and compressive stress.
• Friction force is high.
• Design principle: “slab action”
• Durability is high.
• Prevent the formation of cracks in
concrete.
14. BENDING AND LOAD DISTRIBUTION
• It is flexible while bending.
• It transverse the load uniformly
like rigid pavement.
15. CONCLUSION
• Though it is flexible it has more
strength than flexible pavement.
• Life span is more than the
ordinary pavement.
• In future,it will be used widely.
