The Scientific Revolution Summary
The Structure of the Scientific Revolution by Thomas Kuhn explains how most people in the science
community interpret accurately how they see science. The book begins with a chapter on how scientist
have to have a set of belief that is the basis for what they are doing. When new phenomenon occur that
have not been explained new theories are created on those events and tested so that people can learn
why the event occurred in the first place. Then Kuhn elaborates on the route of normal science with
how scientist do research on items that need to be explained or events and items that have been
figured out but experiments need to be done to prove that the results are correct after which students
learn about the research that has been done. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, sometimes the crisis is to large and scientist have to think of alternatives to the theory that
they created. This occurs when the intelligence received from the experiment is counterintuitive to the
data expected or the data is treated as a phenomenon. Also competition between scientist to prove
opposite reactions creates criticism of work because their goals are opposite of each other. Revelation
and changing world views is a major consequence of changing theories and new theories. Most of
these shifts in views are caused by scientist and how they present the data that they found to the public

What About Bob
What About Bob is a movie about a man who has many psychological problems. He is not the only
one with problems though. The movie What About Bob? shows many psychological disorders in a
comedic light. From Agoraphobia, or the fear of open spaces, to Paranoid Personality Disorder. This
causes people to suffer paranoia or have a relentless mistrust and suspicion of anybody other than
themselves, normally when there is no reason to fear or be suspicious of anyone at all. Most of the
characters in the movie express at least one major psychological disorder, and some even express two
or more.
Though the movie centers around Bob Wiley, each and every one of the characters disorders are
shown. Bob s major disorder is his dependent personality disorder. The disorder is a long term
condition in which people depend too much on others to meet their emotional and physical needs. Bob
has always been dependent on his therapists. This is shown when he previous therapist refers him to
Dr. Marvin. Bob s attachment to his therapist is very stressful for the therapist. This is scene
throughout the film while Dr. Marvin nears breaking down. It is also evident when Bob s old therapist
is leaving his practice. It is obvious that Bob was the cause of that. Bob is dependent on Dr. Marvin.
This is seen as he tries to desperately call him after only about a day after Dr. Marvin goes on
vacation, and then even fakes his own suicide to find out where the doctor was.

Minimally Invasive Procedure Essay
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURES
Minimally invasive surgery or keyhole surgery are operation techniques that uses a limited number of
cannulas which are inserted through small incisions in the skin on the body of the patient. The method
allows the access of thin firm instruments to treat tissues internally. In addition, a small camera is also
inserted through one of the cannulas in order to have a better observation of the activities inside the
body of the patient.
Minimally invasive procedures are done on the patient s abdomen, blood vessels, chest, uterus, joints,
and gastrointestinal tract.

showed that by compressing the renal vessels and parenchyma of the IAP of 20 mmHg can cause a
decrease in renal blood flow significantly. Also, RAAS is activated by the IAP, thereby resulting to
renal cortical vasoconstriction. Chui et al reported a decrease of 60% in renal cortical flow, which
however returned to normal after disinflation. Otega et al reported a precipitous rise in ADH
concentration during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which was not seen in open cholecystectomy. The
exact mechanism of renal blood flow disturbance by pneumoperitoneum is still to be concluded,
although volume status may play a major role. Renal blood flow has been measured during increasing
IAP, and a gradual decrease in RBF up to 75% was observed upon reaching a pressure of 15 mmHg.
Gastrointestinal Effects
Due to the increase in intra abdominal pressure, contents of the stomach have the tendency to
regurgitate and there is a risk for pulmonary aspiration. This happens to patients who are obese.
Neurological Effects
Intracranial pressure (ICP) is increased by the escalation in IAP and as a result there is decrease in
cerebral perfusion pressure especially if there is decrease in cardiac output.

Evaporation Is A Fundamental For Human Life
Evaporation is eminently fundamental for the human life. Without evaporation, there would be no
crops, no rain, and the human body would overheat. When most people think about evaporation, they
usually associate it with the water cycle. All liquids can evaporate at room temperature, including
water, orange juice, rubbing alcohol, and nail polish remover, but do they all evaporate at the same
rate? Surprisingly, most people do not take into consideration that evaporation also occurs in their own
home.
Evaporation is one of the six stages of the water cycle, or hydrologic cycle. Evaporation is the process
in which a liquid surpasses a change to become a gaseous substance. Evaporation befalls due to atoms
or molecules escaping from a liquid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The average energy can be low and the evaporation still continues. (United States Geological Survey
2014) Not all molecules have the same energy, which is why evaporation can occur even if the liquid
isn t boiling. The rate of evaporation is increased with a decrease in the gas pressure around a liquid.
Once the gas pressure reaches a specific level, the rate of evaporation slows down. The density of a
liquid also has an impact on the rate of evaporation; the higher the density of a liquid, the slower the
rate of evaporation. The most important substance in the world is water, without it there would be no
world. Water is a molecule that is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, also known
as H2O. Water is a polar molecule, making it able to dissolve other polar molecules. Water is attracted
to itself by cohesion. Cohesion is the attraction of one substance to itself. Cohesion is possible for
water due to its strong hydrogen bonds. Alone hydrogen bonds are weak, but together they form one
of the strongest bonds known. Water is an extremely diverse substance that can be in solid form, liquid
form, and gas form. The normal temperature of water is 25oC, which produces its liquid form. When
water reaches below 0oC, it freezes and becomes solid. Above100oC is when water reaches its
gaseous form and boiling point; that is more than a 75o temperature change from liquid to gas. Studies
show that the evaporation rate of a liquid depends on the

Samurai In Japan Essay
One of the most belligerent and successful samurai warlords, Takeda Shingen, grew up and reigned
over the prefecture where I met my wife 400 years later. The Sengoku Warring State, 1467 to 1603,
was not, as aficionados assume, a world of lasting honor. Loyalties exchanged like yen coins.
Ambitious warlords allowed family members to be kidnapped, and murdering young innocents was
commonplace. An entire ruling clan, the Taira, was dispatched when rival children, spared rather than
extinguished, grew and enacted revenge, finishing off Taira youths. My entry into Japan was accident.
I rolled dice on a job teaching English in a Japanese village of 900 in the mountains that hiccuped
west of Tokyo. I met my future partner, Yumiko, and Japan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Enlightment for Fredrick the Great of Prussia and Joseph...
Frederick the Great of Prussia and Joseph II of Austria adopted the newfound ideas of the
Enlightenment to different extents with Frederick the Great advancing the ideas by implementing
religious toleration, freedom of speech and press, and setting a single code of laws for all of his
subjects and not advancing them by not abolishing serfdom for fear of upsetting the Junkers , or
Prussian nobility; Joseph II advanced the ideas of the Enlightenment eagerly by completely abolishing
serfdom paying no heed to what it could cause socially and politically and he didn t advance these
ideas in the end because his many reforms caused alienation of the church and nobility and radical
changes in social hierarchy.

Most of these reforms though were to please the querulous nobility and prevent them from trying to
interfere with the government and upset social balance. Frederick the Great set limitations whilst
accepting Enlightenment ideas when it interfered with the good of his subjects, economy and his
beloved military. All of these three topics depended on the Prussian nobility, or the Junkers who
owned large amounts of land had many serfs to farm it. Many of these Junkers also held important
military ranks in the army. Frederick the Great could have chosen to abolish serfdom but did not for
this would greatly anger the Junkers, the backbone of the Prussian state and military. It was said that
Prussia was not a country with an army: it was an army with a country. In Frederick s military, he did
not abolish torture to help install discipline and honesty in his soldiers. Keeping this helped his army
become the fourth strongest army in Europe.
Joseph II of Austria strictly believed that reason was the best and only path to take and so accepted
nearly all of the new Enlightenment ideas on his traditionally run empire causing major issues. One

Even in management, critical thinking is essential to having an effective organization. Nurse managers
who are adept at using critical thinking and have the habits of mind of a critical thinker are in a good
position to assume a leadership role and create the changes that will achieve positive outcomes in
health care organizations (Zori, Morrison, 2009 p.79).
RECOMMENDATIONS
Hospitals and health care organizations need to provide their team members and management

their place of work attractive to nurses. There will continue to be a shortage of nurses and the success
of the healthcare facility depend upon the ability to have the right amount of nurses working at the
facility. In order to make the business attractive the facility must offer benefits such as healthcare,

They must make the nurses happy who work there by finding out what they want such as a certain

want to work a swing shift of days and nights. This is one way to retain the nurses the organization

The Kama Sutra and Class Correlation
Kama Sutra
Question: If Kama Sutra was meant for the Upper Leisure class of the Indian population, is there any
valuable content for the middle and lower class? How much of the Hinduism principles did he retain
so that the lower/middle class can learn from the text as well?
What is Vatsyayana s targeted demographic of readers when he wrote the Kama Sutra? Was it
exclusive to the leisure class of the Indian society? Or did it also include the lower class? There is
evidence that suggests that the text is biased for the aristocrats, as the practices described require time

Vatsyayana explains that Kama is the enjoyment of appropriate objects, which implies that in order to
attain kama, one must have the money to take pleasure in materialistic objects. On top of that, he
organizes a list of arts that should be studied along with Kama Sutra, which include activities that
could be considered as time consuming and overly ostentatious for the lower class. Among the many
activities to do is the spreading and arranging beds or couches of flowers, or flowers upon the ground
or making artificial flowers (Vatsyayana 66). While these activities may seem overly extravagant and
absurd for the lower class as they are the working class and wouldn t be able to afford investing their
time and wealth into it, Vatsyayana emphasizes that kama is a sense of pleasure of the five senses . . .

necessities to obtain kama. His assertion of how [s]exual intercourse being a thing dependent on man
and women requires the application of proper means by them . . . (Vatsyayana 63) indicates that kama
could also be acquired by physical activities, and materialistic objects are not needed. Although they

It is especially tough on moms who have been stay at home moms until now. Suddenly you have

Well, budgeting isn t difficult. You just need to be really careful and document where the money is

It s the expenses that need your special attention. The best way to add them up is to think of two
separate things. First in your single mom budget plan are the fixed expenses. Round up all the utility
bills of at least the past 6 months and see how much you spend on electricity, water and telephone bills
every month. Then tally up the credit card bills.
Then account for your monthly expense on gas, food and groceries. Items that are variable expenses
including clothing and entertainment. These all must be accounted for in your budget. But expenses
incurred on all these things can be cut back with a little imagination.
Here, it is important that you have kept receipts and records of everything. Or else you will need to
spend a couple of months saving them up before you can start building a successful single mom
budget.
Save It Like You Mean It!
Entertainment expenses are the most frivolous of all and should be the first ones to go. Instead of
going to the movies with the whole family, rent out a DVD and make it a fun experience with some
homemade popcorn. Look for entertainment in unconventional ways. For example, a walk around the
corner or to the local park with your kids and your pet is sometimes a very fulfilling experience for

Literary Devices In Medea
When Love Backfires
Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC.
It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact,
Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like
most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless
theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of
identity in relation to marriage.
The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What
is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is
by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the
presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and
feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but
instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she
sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re
used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea,
870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps
portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving
her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a
refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn
but to anger and rage.
The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text
works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters
within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you
want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be
generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not

Elizabeth Barrett Browning: Her Life and the Analysis of Sonnet 43
The Victorian Era is a period of vast changes in England. Queen Victoria reigned in this period for
nearly sixty five years from 1837. In this period, England was a leading power with its colonies
around the world. The country was getting bigger but the ills of the society were also getting bigger.
Child labour and prostitution were the two of important social issues in that time. Even though the
novel was dominant as a literary genre, this period had successful poets such as Tennyson, Robert

In the compilation, Barrett Browning wrote about her love to Robert Browning. Even though the title
refers that the sonnets are translated from Portuguese, it is just an illusion because Barrett Browning
hesitated to publish them in the beginning therefore she used the title as a guise. Sonnet 43 is one of
the best known sonnets from the compilation. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABBAABBA CD
CD CD and written in iambic pentameter. It is a type of Petrarchan sonnet. In the first line the poet
asks a question How do I love thee? (Browning 1130), and in the rest of the sonnet she answers her
question. In the second line she draws an abstract shape of her love by using the words depth, breadth,
height . In the third and fourth lines her love turns into a spiritual love. In the fifth and sixth lines, she
claims that she can fulfil her lover s every simple need in day or in night. In the next three lines she
expresses that she loves her beloved one freely, purely, and passionately. In the next two lines, we see
that the poet s love is as innocent as a child s faith. She loves her beloved with all her good and bad
feelings. At the end of the poem, she says if God allows, her love will last long even after her death. In
the poem the author used the alliteration as a figure of speech nearly in all lines. In the seventh and
eighth lines, there are two similes starting with the word as (1130).

Organ transplantation is a very expensive procedure. In order to be placed on the waiting list for
organs, people need to spend a lot of money. It is not uncommon for the cost of the transplant surgery
and following hospitalization to result in a bill that exceeds $500,000 (Jennifer Heisler). Patient
should pay approximately tens of thousands millions just only to take placed in the waiting list of
people, who need organ transplantation. In addition, people should buy different drugs after operations
and it is also costs a big amount of money and not all people can afford it. Unfortunately, the expenses
do not end with surgery; the cost of medications in the year after surgery typically exceeds $30,000 a
year (Jennifer Heisle). People need spend money on drugs in order not to have problems with health
after surgery transplanted organs to them. A lot of drugs are very expensive. People should pay
thousands of dollars for it. Overall, the disadvantage of organ transplantation is the cost of this

Analysis Of A Bronx Morning And Manhatta

Final Draft Resubmission
Although they may seem very different on the surface, the two city symphonies, A Bronx Morning
and Manhatta converse very well with each other. They both manage to capture and emphasize the
aspects of New York City that make up what they love about or what they see the city as. What the
filmmaker wants to show their audience members, and how they wish to portray the city they are
filming is what dictates what he or she chooses to focus in on, or graze over in their filmmaking
process. Both A Bronx Morning and Manhatta capture the city of Manhattan in completely different
yet similar ways, and this all has to do with the film makers choice of how to organize and present
their material to their audience, yet they both manage to mystify New York City.
This can be related to what Michael de Certeau speaks about in his essay, Walking in the City . A
person, through walking and living in one place, writes their own story or poem; or draws their own
picture. A person s experience living in a particular place during a particular time, can be completely
different from a person born at the exact same time and who lives in the exact same place as they do
its all about perspective and life experience. In his article, de Certeau introduces this concept of
walkers being wandersmanners, whose bodies follow the thicks and thins of an urban text they write
about without being able to read it (93). This

The International Labour Organisation ( Ilo )
Responsible sourcing is a universal method to the sustainable evaluation of materials. This is an
environmental, economical and social way of obtaining construction supplies such as concrete.
Responsible sourcing is a progressively imperative factor for specifiers and clients in the construction
commerce. The idea first industrialized in fair trade of food products and fair employment conditions
for production of consumer goods. The International Labour Organisation (ILO) was founded in 1919

There is an agenda for the organisational authority and supply chain management and this must be
adopted clearly by all companies.
It can be assumed that responsible sourcing can be a very crucial factor that contributes towards
construction and civil engineering as concrete is used in almost all projects. This is why it is
paramount to produce this concrete from trusted sources. Hence 89% of all concrete in 2012 was
certified to BES 6001 and of the production tonnage certified, 99% has achieved Very Good or
Excellent performance rating. As sustainability is a key world issue now, it is important to keep in
mind where companies produce their resources. If concrete was not responsibly sourced then a lot of
unwanted issues could arise. For example it could lead to the concrete not being of the same quality as
a responsibly sourced one. Also it may increase the carbon footprint and cause global warming if
responsibly sourcing was avoided to keep costs low. Although the short term effects of using cheap
concrete is good the long term effects of responsibly sourced concrete outweighs this. In their analysis

Mississippi Casino Gambling
Casino gambling remains a controversial issue, mostly due to personal and religious views on the
negative effects (gambling addictions) it has on society. However, there seems to be very little
controversy relating to the role the casino industry has in the state s economic and tourism
development. The purpose of the paper is to provide a synopsis of the role Mississippi s casino
industry has played in the state s economic and tourism industry. The report focuses on three
jurisdictions: Tunica, Greenville, and the Gulf Coast. The report supports my theory that the
Mississippi casino industry unequivocally has a positive impact on the state s economy and tourism
industry.

The World Needs Abortion Essay
One of the most important philosophical issues ever concerns the definition of a person and who is
able to feel. Abortion, which is a deliberate termination of pregnancy, is one of the most important
practical applications of that issue. Life on Earth is threatened with destruction from overpopulation
and the poverty that overpopulation causes. Fortunately, abortion can prevent overpopulation. The
question about whether abortion should be done is primarily the question about whether the embryo or
fetus is a person. In most cases, the embryo weighs less than 100grams: less than 10% of human brain.
Abortion should be legal since it is useful and since humans become conscious after birth, not before.
Values for Human Society
People are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If an embryo that does not feel is terminated, then the conscious object, a person, is never created. Not
creating a person is not immoral: When people are not having sex, they are not creating a person. If
the society has an optimum population, the net benefit (benefit minus harm) of an extra person will on
average be zero.
Practical Effects of Abortion
The world has a problem of overpopulation, not under population. The environmental problems occur
largely because too many people exist and strain the natural resources. Thus, not creating an extra
person is on average good for the society. (If creating a person would on average be good, then more
people should be created, and the population size is too small, not too large.) In abortion, when a
mother chooses not to create a person, the person is unwanted and thus probably should not be
created.
Much of the poverty found throughout the world is caused by having too many children. Abortion
prevents that and thus reduces poverty. Poverty contributes to crime. Therefore, abortion reduces
crime. Unfortunately, the government in the USA does not support abortion for poor people.
A serious defect in an embryo gives additional reasons for its termination. For example, Down
syndrome is a severe congenital disorder that is a major cause of mental retardation, worldwide.
(Cozic 138) Fortunately, fetal testing (with abortion) can prevent it. If the couple with a defective
embryo is

Curriculum Planning Interview Paper
Curriculum Planning Interview Curriculum implementation is a fundamental task for faculty. When
designing a curriculum, it is essential for the program to be centered on the needs of the learners
(Keating, 2015). Furthermore, the pedagogical skills of the faculty, as they facilitate the learning
process, are central to the success of students. By utilizing a variety of teaching methods, the
classroom can become a stimulating and interactive environment. My interview with Jen Horst
revealed an intriguing model in curriculum design. Jen is an early intervention teacher who earned her
Bachelor s Degree in Special Education at Bloomsburg University and then went on to earn a Master s

These funds are allotted for the entire year, so careful planning for use of this resource is necessary.
There are state grants that exist and can be applied for in order to provide additional resources or
technologies. Horst described this process as she is seeking to obtain an iPad for in the classroom to
aid with communication for nonverbal students. Based on the additional challenges facing many of
these young students, they are also provided with additional state and federally funded resources such
a behavioral therapists, occupational therapist, and speech therapists providing services in the
classroom as well. (J. Horst, personal communication, May 12, 2016).
Conclusion
The variety of needs and disabilities in her classroom create multiple challenges for Horst. While she
may begin with a consistent approach with her students, their specific needs will dictate the course of
action required for the individual learning plans and curriculum. Fortunate for the latitude afforded to
her in creating objectives in her curriculum, Horst is capable of providing the personalized plan each
student requires to facilitate learning (J. Horst, personal communication, May 12,

The Great Gatsby Compared to The Sun Also Rises
Fitzgerald s novel presents postwar period from completely different point of view he shows the
power and uselessness of money. As we know, people of the lost generation were not the happiest and
had quite careless lifestyles. In this novel, even though characters are not poor, still, the only meaning

Marketing Strategy Concepts, Methodology, And Theory
In this part, related literatures about marketing strategy concepts, methodology, and theory, are
reviewed. These concepts, theory and methodology are the foundations of research design of this
work.
2.1 Marketing strategy
The material world is objective while the people s psychologies are very subjective. The same
concepts from different people may mean different implications. The concepts of strategy tend to be
used in many scenarios and embody different meanings. The marketing strategy also has its specific
connotation and extensions. And there are some difference among the academic and practitioner for
this concepts. So, the marketing strategy concept needed clarification.
Grant (2011) defined the strategy as the means by which individuals and organizations to achieve their
goals. From our understanding, the means to achieve goals is the methodology to achieve their goals.
So, the critical part of marketing strategy is the policy and guideline of marketing which based on the
analysis of internal resource and external environments and competitor.
However, many other definitions of strategy are about the goals selection, Recourse allocation, action
procedure, and plans. Such as below definition:
The determination of the long run goals and objectives of an enterprise, and the adoption of courses of
action and the allocation of resources necessary for carrying out these goals Alfred Chandler, Strategy

Overall
Study of the Ansoff models informs that there is two key methods to gain more income, for the growth
of the market and evolution of the product. By having a glance at the SWOT that was conducted in the
first assessment, it is evident that it will come into view to have a chance to develop and grow into the
overseas market, such as Asia, however it could be expensive and have a high risk involved.
 By having different ethnic and culture contrasts a method which is substantial also costly to
investigate and analyse what will have to end up doing to start recently developed and newly

 In NZ, if they market their products well and successfully, doesn t mean that it will have the
equivalent outcome in overseas markets.

Core strategy is to generate a product that is new for weetbix and develop something different.
Nowadays generally consumers look for things that are fresh and new. Weetbix current products are

b) Possible reasons for the difference between our value and the literature value could be the fact that
the machine we used would have absorbed some of the load, the dials and other measuring tools were
difficult to get a very accurate reading from and how the experiment was set up on our behalf.
c) Single crystal specimens of a material will have a lower elastic modulus than a polycrystalline

Object relations theorist says past memories, relationships, and images of events can effect an
individuals present functioning (Butman, Jones, 2011, 140). Internal objects are the most important
because they influence the individuals self, relationships they engage in, and the attachment these
individuals form within those relationships (Murdock, 2013, 83). These internal objects determine
how we relate to people (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). Internalized objects also represent how
individuals view themselves (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). When an individual is nurtured and
protected, they are more likely to develop a whole view of themselves (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). On
the contrary, individuals who do not feel protected and loved tending to get stuck in the relationship
where their needs were not met (Butman, Jones, 2011, 144). This leads the individual to view other
relationships immaturely and consistently seek to meet primitive needs (Butman, Jones, 2011, 144).
Melanie did not form the appropriate attachments with either parent due to her mothers chronic drug
use and her father absence. Melanie s regrets from dropping out of high school also signify some

Recovery Case Study
Thank you for your email. We just had a nor easter. It started Monday night and continued through
Tuesday. In a sense, many people are on the recovery mode today including us. They said Spring
officially starts on Monday but I am not seeing it. It is still in the low 20s plus the wind chill factor,
feels more like in the teens. Hope to see spring sometime soon. As you can probably tell, I have
started re working the analysis given the figures from Dr. Ogoshi and Dr. Murthy s team. If you have
followed the email exchanges, you probably noted that Dr. Murthy s team is using different yield
levels than us. I am not really sure why that is the case. At any rate, you may want to clarify with the
team when you have the meeting to ensure that everybody is on the same page. For the current
analysis, I am using the crop yields agreed upon with Dr. Ogoshi. I will also incorporate the jet fuel
processing cost calculated by Dr. Murthy s team. They have not gotten back to me on my follow up

Theseus And Phaedr The Value Of Family Loyalty
The value of family loyalty is important in any given society whether it s from 800 B.C. to 2016,
granted not all families work together the family members that show loyalty to one another tend to be
set up for admiration. All these different relationships are what makes a family, whether it s the loyalty
between Theseus and Phaedra or you re Theseus cursing his son into exile. The Athenian hero
Theseus, took part in many adventures and so many enterprises. He helps the Argives after the War of
the Seven against Thebes, when the Thebans refused to allow the defeated to bury their dead, he helps
Oedipus and his daughters, and prevents Hercules from killing himself after his insanity. Theseus
fights the Amazons twice, once attacking them, once defending their attack on Athens and marries
their queen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though that wasn t showing loyalty to his own son he was showing loyalty to his wife. I believe
that this would still apply to today s society or at least should apply. There are so many stories of
women not being believed when they share their story of rape which is awful. Like any good human
should, one would hope that the woman s story is the side taken and the offender sent into exile.
Another example of Theseus showing his loyalty is to his father when he goes on his quest to find
him. It s pretty uncommon for a child to want to go find their father after he abandoned him his whole
life. But he understands the importance of loyalty to his family. This commonly relates to kids that
grow up without a parent or parents that choose to go and find them, despite the abandonment.
The lesson to be learned in these mythology myths is no matter what is thrown at your family, it is
important to keep loyalty in mind, any family can take this lesson into account to keep a strong

The Case Of Wal Mart
When we hear someone say they need to go to the grocery store, what is the first place that comes to
mind? For most of us, it is Wal Mart. From its market end, to its home and beauty supply, all the way
to its lawn and garden department, Wal Mart has been ordained one of the most profitable companies
in the entire world. But it did not start out that way. With a dream, determination, leadership, and some
sweat, Sam Walton, made a small mom and pop store into the multibillion dollar company it is today.
On March 29, 1918, Samuel Moore Walton was born to Thomas and Nancy Walton of Kingfisher,
Oklahoma. As a young boy Walton and his family moved locations and found themselves living in the
small town of Columbia, Missouri. Growing up, Walton excelled at school, making the top grades of
his class. He was also known for his athletic ability, and in high school was the quarterback for his
high school football team (biography.com). When Walton graduated high school in 1936, he was voted
most versatile boy (biography.com). Little did anyone know that that most versatile boy was going to
achieve great success in just a few short years. After graduating high school, Sam decided to further
his education and attended the University of Missouri. He graduated in 1940 with his degree in
economics. Shortly after graduation, Walton joined the army at the mere age of 24. He served until

Dissolve Disappearing Oxygen
Around 70% of the world is covered in water, and over time water tends to change. Oxygen levels can
rise, temperatures may decrease, and different environmental changes may be introduced. Naturally,
water stands to be at a pH level of 7, that being neutral in acidity. However, due to the changes in
water over time it seems, that too is changing over time. Even more so changes come from multiple
sources outside of the environment, this includes cities and agricultural lands. In fact, a small
percentage of water bodies are near agricultural areas, which also may influence a change in the water,
with the introduction of nitrates and phosphates, from agricultural runoffs. Nitrates and phosphates are
known to have high oxygen levels, which will affect bodies of water further. On an ecological scale,
such changes put the aquatic inhabitants in danger. With this being known groups of scientist went to
investigate the changes in water bodies by measuring the nitrate and phosphate levels in comparison to
the dissolved oxygen levels, as well as the pH, temperature, and turbidity to see if any real significant
changes have occurred. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sustainable Drainage For Highways Infrastructure
Sustainable Drainage for highways infrastructure
Introduction
Construction of no porous highway surfaces and pavements areas have high possibility of modifying
the hydrological cycle with larger volumes of runoff being conveyed over short periods of time at
increased flow rates to nearby water courses. Highway drainage has been designed to rapidly remove
surface runoff from the carriageway and discharge directly and positively into nearest watercourses. It
is now recognised that runoff from highways contains range of pollutants which have negative
impacts on watercourses such as vehicle derived exhaust emissions, fuel and lubricant losses tyre and
car fabric losses . Ground paving in leading to flooding, water pollution and situation is likely to get
worse as climate changes. Drainage need to be designed to keep to water on site longer and allow
percolation as a result reducing pollution and flooding. If possible water should be stored and used.
The existing drainage system on A45/A46 Tollbar junction is a combination of piped system, kerbs
and gullies discharging to carrier pipes and surface water channels discharging into carrier pipes
network. Runoff collected from the junction finally discharge into river Avon. The present drainage
system has no special features to make it sustainable. The system does not have oil/petrol interceptors
or any device for controlling pollution. There are no measures to deal with accidental spillage, which
will discharge into river Avon.

  • 2. The Scientific Revolution Summary The Structure of the Scientific Revolution by Thomas Kuhn explains how most people in the science community interpret accurately how they see science. The book begins with a chapter on how scientist have to have a set of belief that is the basis for what they are doing. When new phenomenon occur that have not been explained new theories are created on those events and tested so that people can learn why the event occurred in the first place. Then Kuhn elaborates on the route of normal science with how scientist do research on items that need to be explained or events and items that have been figured out but experiments need to be done to prove that the results are correct after which students learn about the research that has been done. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, sometimes the crisis is to large and scientist have to think of alternatives to the theory that they created. This occurs when the intelligence received from the experiment is counterintuitive to the data expected or the data is treated as a phenomenon. Also competition between scientist to prove opposite reactions creates criticism of work because their goals are opposite of each other. Revelation and changing world views is a major consequence of changing theories and new theories. Most of these shifts in views are caused by scientist and how they present the data that they found to the public this allows them to manipulate the results in their ... • 3. What About Bob What About Bob is a movie about a man who has many psychological problems. He is not the only one with problems though. The movie What About Bob? shows many psychological disorders in a comedic light. From Agoraphobia, or the fear of open spaces, to Paranoid Personality Disorder. This causes people to suffer paranoia or have a relentless mistrust and suspicion of anybody other than themselves, normally when there is no reason to fear or be suspicious of anyone at all. Most of the characters in the movie express at least one major psychological disorder, and some even express two or more. Though the movie centers around Bob Wiley, each and every one of the characters disorders are shown. Bob s major disorder is his dependent personality disorder. The disorder is a long term condition in which people depend too much on others to meet their emotional and physical needs. Bob has always been dependent on his therapists. This is shown when he previous therapist refers him to Dr. Marvin. Bob s attachment to his therapist is very stressful for the therapist. This is scene throughout the film while Dr. Marvin nears breaking down. It is also evident when Bob s old therapist is leaving his practice. It is obvious that Bob was the cause of that. Bob is dependent on Dr. Marvin. This is seen as he tries to desperately call him after only about a day after Dr. Marvin goes on vacation, and then even fakes his own suicide to find out where the doctor was. The method allows the access of thin firm instruments to treat tissues internally. In addition, a small camera is also inserted through one of the cannulas in order to have a better observation of the activities inside the body of the patient. Carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum, physiologic changes and anaesthetic concerns, it states there are different mechanism involved the decreased urinary output during IAP. Shuto et al. showed that by compressing the renal vessels and parenchyma of the IAP of 20 mmHg can cause a decrease in renal blood flow significantly. Also, RAAS is activated by the IAP, thereby resulting to renal cortical vasoconstriction. Chui et al reported a decrease of 60% in renal cortical flow, which however returned to normal after disinflation. Otega et al reported a precipitous rise in ADH concentration during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which was not seen in open cholecystectomy. The exact mechanism of renal blood flow disturbance by pneumoperitoneum is still to be concluded, although volume status may play a major role. Renal blood flow has been measured during increasing IAP, and a gradual decrease in RBF up to 75% was observed upon reaching a pressure of 15 mmHg. Gastrointestinal Effects Due to the increase in intra abdominal pressure, contents of the stomach have the tendency to regurgitate and there is a risk for pulmonary aspiration. This happens to patients who are obese. Neurological Effects Intracranial pressure (ICP) is increased by the escalation in IAP and as a result there is decrease in cerebral perfusion pressure especially if there is decrease in cardiac output. • 6. Evaporation Is A Fundamental For Human Life Evaporation is eminently fundamental for the human life. Without evaporation, there would be no crops, no rain, and the human body would overheat. When most people think about evaporation, they usually associate it with the water cycle. All liquids can evaporate at room temperature, including water, orange juice, rubbing alcohol, and nail polish remover, but do they all evaporate at the same rate? Surprisingly, most people do not take into consideration that evaporation also occurs in their own home. Evaporation is one of the six stages of the water cycle, or hydrologic cycle. Evaporation is the process in which a liquid surpasses a change to become a gaseous substance. Evaporation befalls due to atoms or molecules escaping from a liquid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The average energy can be low and the evaporation still continues. (United States Geological Survey 2014) Not all molecules have the same energy, which is why evaporation can occur even if the liquid isn t boiling. The rate of evaporation is increased with a decrease in the gas pressure around a liquid. Once the gas pressure reaches a specific level, the rate of evaporation slows down. The density of a liquid also has an impact on the rate of evaporation; the higher the density of a liquid, the slower the rate of evaporation. The most important substance in the world is water, without it there would be no world. Water is a molecule that is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, also known as H2O. Water is a polar molecule, making it able to dissolve other polar molecules. Water is attracted to itself by cohesion. Cohesion is the attraction of one substance to itself. Cohesion is possible for water due to its strong hydrogen bonds. Alone hydrogen bonds are weak, but together they form one of the strongest bonds known. Water is an extremely diverse substance that can be in solid form, liquid form, and gas form. The normal temperature of water is 25oC, which produces its liquid form. When water reaches below 0oC, it freezes and becomes solid. Above100oC is when water reaches its gaseous form and boiling point; that is more than a 75o temperature change from liquid to gas. The Sengoku Warring State, 1467 to 1603, was not, as aficionados assume, a world of lasting honor. Loyalties exchanged like yen coins. Ambitious warlords allowed family members to be kidnapped, and murdering young innocents was commonplace. An entire ruling clan, the Taira, was dispatched when rival children, spared rather than extinguished, grew and enacted revenge, finishing off Taira youths. My entry into Japan was accident. She had four other suitors that night, one of them a woman. Friends are shocked when I recall the plans I went through to ruin the competition. Cock blocking, it s called, a parrying of penises. I had never done anything like this before, but I performed out wooing maneuvers with uncanny success. I stirred one a too strong drink; watched him cough it back up. I loudly interrupted one s conversation as he was trying to ask Yumiko for her phone number. I persuaded one away on an extraneous errand. I monopolized Yumiko s time, danced with her, took shots together. I was aggressive, assertive, territorial. Yumiko was skeptical me in my tie dyed shirt with a frayed hole over one nipple and long hair who was this hippie? It wouldn t have taken much to persuade her away. Many of these Junkers also held important military ranks in the army. Frederick the Great could have chosen to abolish serfdom but did not for this would greatly anger the Junkers, the backbone of the Prussian state and military. It was said that Prussia was not a country with an army: it was an army with a country. In Frederick s military, he did not abolish torture to help install discipline and honesty in his soldiers. Among the many activities to do is the spreading and arranging beds or couches of flowers, or flowers upon the ground or making artificial flowers (Vatsyayana 66). While these activities may seem overly extravagant and absurd for the lower class as they are the working class and wouldn t be able to afford investing their time and wealth into it, Vatsyayana emphasizes that kama is a sense of pleasure of the five senses . . . assisted by the mind together with the soul, (Vatsyayana 63). • 14. Literary Devices In Medea When Love Backfires Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC. It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact, Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of identity in relation to marriage. The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea, 870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn but to anger and rage. The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the first line the poet asks a question How do I love thee? (Browning 1130), and in the rest of the sonnet she answers her question. In the second line she draws an abstract shape of her love by using the words depth, breadth, height . In the third and fourth lines her love turns into a spiritual love. She loves her beloved with all her good and bad feelings. At the end of the poem, she says if God allows, her love will last long even after her death. What the filmmaker wants to show their audience members, and how they wish to portray the city they are filming is what dictates what he or she chooses to focus in on, or graze over in their filmmaking process. Both A Bronx Morning and Manhatta capture the city of Manhattan in completely different yet similar ways, and this all has to do with the film makers choice of how to organize and present their material to their audience, yet they both manage to mystify New York City. This can be related to what Michael de Certeau speaks about in his essay, Walking in the City . A person, through walking and living in one place, writes their own story or poem; or draws their own picture. A person s experience living in a particular place during a particular time, can be completely different from a person born at the exact same time and who lives in the exact same place as they do its all about perspective and life experience. Abortion, which is a deliberate termination of pregnancy, is one of the most important practical applications of that issue. Life on Earth is threatened with destruction from overpopulation and the poverty that overpopulation causes. Fortunately, abortion can prevent overpopulation. The question about whether abortion should be done is primarily the question about whether the embryo or fetus is a person. In most cases, the embryo weighs less than 100grams: less than 10% of human brain. Abortion should be legal since it is useful and since humans become conscious after birth, not before. Not creating a person is not immoral: When people are not having sex, they are not creating a person. If the society has an optimum population, the net benefit (benefit minus harm) of an extra person will on average be zero. Practical Effects of Abortion The world has a problem of overpopulation, not under population. The environmental problems occur largely because too many people exist and strain the natural resources. Thus, not creating an extra person is on average good for the society. (If creating a person would on average be good, then more people should be created, and the population size is too small, not too large.) In abortion, when a mother chooses not to create a person, the person is unwanted and thus probably should not be created. Much of the poverty found throughout the world is caused by having too many children. Abortion prevents that and thus reduces poverty. Poverty contributes to crime. Therefore, abortion reduces crime. Unfortunately, the government in the USA does not support abortion for poor people. A serious defect in an embryo gives additional reasons for its termination. Internal objects are the most important because they influence the individuals self, relationships they engage in, and the attachment these individuals form within those relationships (Murdock, 2013, 83). These internal objects determine how we relate to people (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). Internalized objects also represent how individuals view themselves (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). When an individual is nurtured and protected, they are more likely to develop a whole view of themselves (Butman, Jones, 2011, 141). On the contrary, individuals who do not feel protected and loved tending to get stuck in the relationship where their needs were not met (Butman, Jones, 2011, 144). This leads the individual to view other relationships immaturely and consistently seek to meet primitive needs (Butman, Jones, 2011, 144). • 32. Recovery Case Study Thank you for your email. We just had a nor easter. It started Monday night and continued through Tuesday. In a sense, many people are on the recovery mode today including us. They said Spring officially starts on Monday but I am not seeing it. It is still in the low 20s plus the wind chill factor, feels more like in the teens. Hope to see spring sometime soon. As you can probably tell, I have started re working the analysis given the figures from Dr. Ogoshi and Dr. Murthy s team. If you have followed the email exchanges, you probably noted that Dr. Murthy s team is using different yield levels than us. I am not really sure why that is the case. At any rate, you may want to clarify with the team when you have the meeting to ensure that everybody is on the same page. For the current analysis, I am using the crop yields agreed upon with Dr. Ogoshi. I will also incorporate the jet fuel processing cost calculated by Dr. Murthy s team. They have not gotten back to me on my follow up queries. In the analysis, I will include the break even yields and break even prices for the two bioenergy crops. I should be able to send the preliminary results by end of next week. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jeffrey Sachs and was interviewed. During the interview, he said he thinks I am overqualified for the position as their team is only seeking a doctoral student and not someone with a Ph.D. He told me to try the postdoc jobs in their Institute, which usually opens in Fall. I applied to the position because I think it best fits my current situation we only have a part time baby sitter and half of the time I have to take care of Theo fulltime. Daycares in NY has a one year waiting list. At this point, I have applied to dozens of jobs academic and non academic positions, but no luck yet. So, I am just waiting. • 33. Theseus And Phaedr The Value Of Family Loyalty The value of family loyalty is important in any given society whether it s from 800 B.C. to 2016, granted not all families work together the family members that show loyalty to one another tend to be set up for admiration. All these different relationships are what makes a family, whether it s the loyalty between Theseus and Phaedra or you re Theseus cursing his son into exile. The Athenian hero Theseus, took part in many adventures and so many enterprises. He helps the Argives after the War of the Seven against Thebes, when the Thebans refused to allow the defeated to bury their dead, he helps Oedipus and his daughters, and prevents Hercules from killing himself after his insanity. Theseus fights the Amazons twice, once attacking them, once defending their attack on Athens and marries their queen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though that wasn t showing loyalty to his own son he was showing loyalty to his wife. I believe that this would still apply to today s society or at least should apply. There are so many stories of women not being believed when they share their story of rape which is awful. Like any good human should, one would hope that the woman s story is the side taken and the offender sent into exile. Another example of Theseus showing his loyalty is to his father when he goes on his quest to find him. It s pretty uncommon for a child to want to go find their father after he abandoned him his whole life. But he understands the importance of loyalty to his family. This commonly relates to kids that grow up without a parent or parents that choose to go and find them, despite the abandonment. The lesson to be learned in these mythology myths is no matter what is thrown at your family, it is important to keep loyalty in mind, any family can take this lesson into account to keep a strong ... • 34. The Case Of Wal Mart When we hear someone say they need to go to the grocery store, what is the first place that comes to mind? For most of us, it is Wal Mart. From its market end, to its home and beauty supply, all the way to its lawn and garden department, Wal Mart has been ordained one of the most profitable companies in the entire world. But it did not start out that way. With a dream, determination, leadership, and some sweat, Sam Walton, made a small mom and pop store into the multibillion dollar company it is today. On March 29, 1918, Samuel Moore Walton was born to Thomas and Nancy Walton of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. As a young boy Walton and his family moved locations and found themselves living in the small town of Columbia, Missouri. Growing up, Walton excelled at school, making the top grades of his class. He was also known for his athletic ability, and in high school was the quarterback for his high school football team (biography.com). • 35. Dissolve Disappearing Oxygen Around 70% of the world is covered in water, and over time water tends to change. Oxygen levels can rise, temperatures may decrease, and different environmental changes may be introduced. Naturally, water stands to be at a pH level of 7, that being neutral in acidity. However, due to the changes in water over time it seems, that too is changing over time. Even more so changes come from multiple sources outside of the environment, this includes cities and agricultural lands. In fact, a small percentage of water bodies are near agricultural areas, which also may influence a change in the water, with the introduction of nitrates and phosphates, from agricultural runoffs. Nitrates and phosphates are known to have high oxygen levels, which will affect bodies of water further. On an ecological scale, such changes put the aquatic inhabitants in danger. With this being known groups of scientist went to investigate the changes in water bodies by measuring the nitrate and phosphate levels in comparison to the dissolved oxygen levels, as well as the pH, temperature, and turbidity to see if any real significant changes have occurred. ... With water bodies that are near agricultural areas, with fluctuations of the levels of nitrates and phosphates that are introduced to the water bodies, the dissolved oxygen levels are affected. Turbidity is also another important measurement of water quality as it affects not only the pH levels of the water but also the temperature of the water. Turbidity itself measures the light refractiveness found in water used to quantify the quality of water (Mann et al., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Sustainable Drainage For Highways Infrastructure Sustainable Drainage for highways infrastructure Introduction Construction of no porous highway surfaces and pavements areas have high possibility of modifying the hydrological cycle with larger volumes of runoff being conveyed over short periods of time at increased flow rates to nearby water courses. Highway drainage has been designed to rapidly remove surface runoff from the carriageway and discharge directly and positively into nearest watercourses. It is now recognised that runoff from highways contains range of pollutants which have negative impacts on watercourses such as vehicle derived exhaust emissions, fuel and lubricant losses tyre and car fabric losses . Ground paving in leading to flooding, water pollution and situation is likely to get worse as climate changes. Drainage need to be designed to keep to water on site longer and allow percolation as a result reducing pollution and flooding. If possible water should be stored and used. The existing drainage system on A45/A46 Tollbar junction is a combination of piped system, kerbs and gullies discharging to carrier pipes and surface water channels discharging into carrier pipes network. Runoff collected from the junction finally discharge into river Avon. The present drainage system has no special features to make it sustainable. The system does not have oil/petrol interceptors or any device for controlling pollution. There are no measures to deal with accidental spillage, which will discharge into river Avon. ...
