Our study shows that EU deregulation altered the five competitive forces in European airline industry
and in turn this fostered entrepreneurship and innovation, as a reaction of firms to adapt to the change
in their context. The reaction of Ryanair and SAS through entrepreneurial and innovative behaviour
was different due to the differences in their business model. We argue that the removal of barriers to
new entrants and the increased rivalry between firms were the main forces that fostered
entrepreneurship and innovation. We predict that if further EU deregulation comes (as it is the trend)
this will generate more opportunities to entrepreneurship and innovation like it generated in the past.

Keep Your Head Up By Ben Howard
Keep Your Head Up Music is an art that has the capability of drawing out the deepest emotion within
us. For that very reason, we are extremely attracted to such art. Different genres attract diverse groups
of people. Often it is easy to spark memories within our consciousness by listening to particular songs.
For me personally, I have a bittersweet connection to the song, Keep Your Head Up, By Ben Howard
because the lyrics provoke happiness and encouragement, a couple of traits I struggle with at times,
yet the tune sparks beautiful memories with an estranged, beloved friend. My sophomore year of high
school was one of the hardest years I have ever been through, mentally and emotionally. Depression,
lack of self esteem, and addiction had always affected my life in some way, whether it be through
close family members or friends or within my own self. Through series of events, I found myself in a
terrible place in life in my sophomore year of high school, and I had not the slightest clue how to solve
it. At some points, I did not even really care to fix it. I struggled maintaining grades and maintaining
relationships with my friends as well as my parents. I was simply not a pleasant person to be around,
yet somehow, in all of this mess I called my life, someone special walked in, unexpectedly, and
managed to spark a change within me. We were instant best friends. People assumed we had known
each other since a young age, some even went to the extent of believing we

What Is Henry Norwest s Life Like Life In The Trenches
Once he arrived in France it was a unique experience for him, life at the front was a new lifestyle that
he was not used to, but he adjusted to his new environment and was able to thrive. Life in the trenches
was different from anything Henry had ever experienced, it was not a pleasant lifestyle. The trenches
were filled with water and mud that usually went past the soldiers knees due to the heavy rainfall. This
lead to many soldiers getting trench foot a condition that occurs with extended exposure of the foot to
wet, unsanitary, and cold conditions. This was just one of the many diseases that were contracted by
soldiers in the trenches. Henry Norwest was one of the soldiers who was lucky enough to not get any
of these ailments. Henry s

Neurons are information processing units in the central nervous system that receive and transmit

a large public school system to construct a musical aptitude test. Describe how you would standardize
your test and assess its reliability and validity. Explain why it might be more difficult to develop a
valid musical aptitude test than a reliable one.
It is difficult to develop a valid musical aptitude test because most of the time, the measures of the
aptitude are misunderstood and demands that are unrealistic, made on them. Validity should be seen as
construct validity. The problem sources are in two groups. The first group uses composite validity
criteria. This forms the assumption that they are not dimensional. The second one uses subject groups.
The groups do not represent the distribution of the construct in whole. In order to maximize the
ecological validity, composite measures must be used as the criteria for validity.
Legitimacy is likewise harder to acquire as a rule the individuals that have been concentrated on don t

less or more limited. The musical fitness of the gathering is not a representation of the entire group.

How a Mosquito Bite Can Cost the US Millions of Dollars
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the country spends millions of
dollars each year in the treatment of West Nile virus disease, a condition transmitted to humans by a
mosquito bite. In fact, hospitalizations and follow ups related to the disease cost nearly $800M in
healthcare expenses as well as lost productivity since 1999. This means that the United States spends
about $56M annually for direct and indirect costs brought about by the mosquito borne West Nile
virus. These findings were based on research published online by the American Society of Tropical
Medicine and Hygiene.
The Cost of West Nile Virus Disease
Recent research shows that being bitten by a mosquito that transmits the West Nile virus (WNV) can
cost the government millions of dollars in terms of hospitalization, medications, follow up visits, and
lost work. After examining more than 37,000 WNV infections reported to the CDC (1999 2012),
investigators found more than 18,000 patients were hospitalized and more than 1,500 people died
from the disease. More than 16,000 individuals developed complications, such as neurologic sequelae,
of which elderly patients were at high risk for severe complications. However, CDC reports that the
number of patients affected by the disease may be more than the actual cases reported since 1999.
Furthermore, the researchers believe that the costs calculated may have been underestimated since
most of these were based on initial costs incurred

Safe Injection Sites Case Analysis
The outcome of the Supreme Court s decision in 2011 has created an avalanche of various legislation
and reactions from all over Canada. Two federal Canadian governments have been involved in the
aftermath of the Court s decision, the Conservative government led by Stephen Harper, and the
Liberal government led by Justin Trudeau. Both have taken drastically different approaches to the
issue of safe injection sites. Harper made his view clear when he passed legislation in response to the
court s decision. Trudeau s liberal government is in progress of investigating the best way to amend
legislation for Canada s interests on whole. Not all Canadians agree with the Court s decision, and

Supporters of the facilities would argue it was a step in the right direction, and that the Conservative
legislation passed in 2015 was a major setback. On the other hand, those who oppose the safe injection

The tensions between judicial and executive governments in Canada is not new, and the balance of
powers within the state represents the Canadian democracy. The controversy is not over, and it is in

Effects Of Aging On The Elderly Population
Introduction
Several aspects of aging can be debilitating for the elderly population, as they often include loneliness,
general decline, and lack of social support (Anisman, 2014). The senior population, already at large, is
projected to surpass that of other age groups and increase the burden on our health care system. Only a
small proportion of individuals age successfully, with the majority experiencing a spectrum of
cognitive impairments that can manifest into neurodegenerative disorders. This is due to a broad range
of factors, including genetic and environmental determinants that ultimately shape the aging process.
The hippocampus, a subcortical brain region, is responsible for mediating memory consolidation,
spatial navigation, and to some extent learning (Kolb and Whishaw, 2013). It is particularly impaired
in old individuals and the focus of numerous experiments aimed at delaying degeneration or
alternatively enhancing neurogenesis. This limbic structure is readily influenced by the stress
response, namely the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis (Kolb and Whishaw, 2013). Aged
individuals tend to exhibit elevated levels of corticosteroids, which promote hippocampal
deterioration (Cameron and McKay, 1999). A specific region within the hippocampus, the dentate
gyrus, is unique in that it not only succumbs to such effects but continues to undergo neurogenesis
(Cameron and McKay, 1999). However, the rate of neurogenesis is reduced if not inhibited in old

reaction he didn t expect was a kiss, and the murderer s eyes widened, not in shock, but utter
confusion, when Analise Helm, released from his grip, pressed the soft swell of her breasts to his
chest, and mashed her mouth against his. Instinctively, he raised his arm to her hip to push her away
and regain control, but before he knew it, the kiss was over, and all he was left with as she walked out
the door, was the taste of her lipstick, and lingering sensation of her tongue against his. Pete Norris
stood there, momentarily stunned, then wiped his lips with his sleeve, shook his head, before a loud
chuckle escaped him. Analise Helm had turned out be much more than he d ever could have bargained

Effective Leadership Interview Assignment
For this assignment, I interviewed Katelynn Foust. During this interview, it helped me learn more
about leadership and what to expect as an RA. I learned some very valuable information that will help
me in the future as a leader. Before the interview, I had concerns and preconceptions. Katelynn also
informed me on some information that I found to be surprising and she was very informative. I
learned that to make others feel confident that it will be easier if you get to know that person and pay
attention to certain details about them. This is helpful because when working with residents if they
need some motivation or cheering up then by implementing what they are good at will help them.

I thought there was not as much paper work that went with being an RA. Also, that depending on what
resident hall you work on the atmosphere will be different. I thought that residents would most likely
act the same throughout each resident hall however, that s not the case. I learned from Katelynn that
when she worked in Oaks that the residents seemed to be needier compared to her current residents in
Pines. Also, the residents in oaks seemed to be closer and there would be more of a relationship with
them. My preconceptions were all answered and I found all the answers very informative. During the
interview, I found majority of the information very helpful but some of it was surprising. The
information I found surprising was how different it could be in different buildings. Also, how being an
RA is more than just working with their hall. I found out that the RA s should do desk hours and help
other RA s during room conflicts. The RA s help each other during difficult parts of the job and this
shows how leaders need to work together for a common purpose. Overall this interview has helped me
realize what will be the difficult part with the job and some of the perks. I learned many things about
being a leader and what to expect with being an RA. Being a leader has a lot of responsibility but there
is a lot of rewards that come with being a leader. Some of the rewards that come with being a leader is

The Decline of the Newspaper
In 1760, The Boston News Letter was the first newspaper to be continuously published in the United
States. A 250 year legacy of printed news could not have lasted if it newspapers didn t not have it uses.
Aside from the entertainment value, newspapers exist for the main purpose of bringing news of
international, national, and local news to the doorsteps of the people. Without such frequent and stable
form of communication, it would be difficult for any nation to call itself a free democracy. Today
however, it cannot be expected that newsprint will last forever. Statistical data firmly suggests
newspapers around the world are falling both in number and circulation. The past several years have
been difficult for newspapers as other news ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There could be no national forum where issues are discussed because people would not know what
there is to discuss in the first place. As Arthur Miller ones said: A good newspaper, I suppose, is a
nation talking to itself. Our United States would no longer be united but instead fragmented into
nations talking only as far as word of mouth could reach. Lack of a national medium of information is
an obvious problem in any democracy.
Today, Newspapers are at the lowest circulation in seven decades. Numbers do not lie, newspapers are
in decline. According to a The Washington Post article from October of 2009, The Accelerating
Decline of Newspapers , only 13 percent of Americans today buy one of 1400 daily papers. In 1940
that number was 31 percent Newspapers annual losses of paid daily subscriptions are at record lows
all across the board. From the same article of the Washington Post: New York Times reported seven
percent loss, Los Angeles Times reported 11 percent, Washington Post 6 percent, San Francisco
Chronicles 26 percent, Dallas Morning News and Newark Star Ledger both report 22 percent losses.
Of the 25 top newspapers in the United States, only the Wall Street Journal did not report a decline in
circulation. The Wall Street Journal only managed a 0.6 percent gain. Furthermore, the rate of decline
in print circulation at the nation s newspapers has accelerated. Between 2008 and 2009 there was a
seven percent drop. Rick Edmonds, a media business analyst at

William The Conqueror Weapons
It is undoubtedly certain that William the Conqueror s weapons and tactics were by far more effective
than Harold Godwinson s strategies. The different types of weapons the Normans used at the Battle of
Hastings were weapons no Englishman had ever seen used in battle before like the powerful ranged
crossbow. The Normans had specially trained warriors called knights who wore chainmail armour and
rode on horseback, the knights were the first of the English to fight on horseback so this gave the
Normans an advantage over Harold s army. As well as their weapons Historians believe that they also
made good tactical decisions in battle. During the battle of Hastings when William was trying to break
through Harold s shield wall he ordered his men to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When William the Conqueror s attention got brought towards Harold he kept Harold as a guest,
although some people think he kept Harold as a prisoner. At some point, while Harold was kept there
William took the opportunity to make Harold take an oath that he would marry William s daughter.
This made sure that William the conqueror would at some point become the king of England through
the bloodline. Once he took the oath Harold was finally allowed to return to England. Before Harold
left Normandy he swore another oath. Harold took an oath of loyalty to William in front of many
Norman lords and Harold said he would do all that was required of him. After this William was
impressed with Harold and he took Harold with him when he launched an attack against Conan, the
count of Brittany at the time. Harold received gifts from William like weapons and horses as William
was thankful for how Harold helped him out. Finally, Harold returned to England and William thought
he had the crown of England in the grasp of his hand. When the king at the time, Edward the
Confessor, passed away Harold was crowned the new king of England since he was somewhat related
to the king. When William heard about this he was outraged since Harold broke his oath and this
caused him to despise

Trickster God Mythology Examples
Iktomi, Wakjankaga, Coyote, and Rick Sanchez trickster gods created through generations of rich
Sioux, Winnebago, and Navajo tradition, as well as the weird and wonderful minds of Dan Harmon
and Justin Roiland. Specifically, I ll be focusing on the themes of community and individual values
told through trickster god narratives with a concentration on environmentalism. Initially, it s important
to establish the tropes and traits of trickster gods, so I can establish a firm link between Rick Sanchez
and trickster gods of old. This will give the social commentary and myth of Adult Swims Rick and
Morty a figurative leg to stand on. Beginning, let s define common traits and relay them to specific
examples in trickster myths. Trickster God s are often wandering, bawdy, gluttonous, and obscene
(Levine 100) selfish, amoral, foolish, destructive, and as the name indicates, given to duping others in
his own interests (Levine 100). They are also culture heros (Levine 100) with god like power (Levine

his grandson Morty a date at a dance, makes him a love serum, which unintentionally infects the
whole world with a virus that turns everyone into a David Cronenberg esque monsters. He is then
forced to relocate himself and morty to another dimension of earth. This satisfies multiple of the

UPS in India A package Deal
The United Parcel Service is the largest package delivery company in the world. They have worked
for over 108 years to gain this title. UPS.com states that the current strategy is Create Value,
Transform, and Invest to Grow . This is a major reason that UPS currently has the competitive
advantage over other shipping companies. It is also the reason that the company strives to become
better at what they do every day.
The Company currently known as United Parcel Service, founded in 1907 by Claud Ryan and Jim
Causey two teenagers with a big idea and not much money. They started the venture by running
errands, carrying notes, and local deliveries by foot. As time passed and technology grew the company
evolved into delivering packages. Very quickly Merchants Parcel Delivery built a strong reputation
based on customer service and the care that they gave to each package. In 1919, they became United
Parcel Service , and started domestic expansion. By the 1920s UPS was changing in response to their
external environment. They soon started offering unique features such as daily pickups. During the
time leading up to World War II, the United States suffered a major fuel shortage. Retailers started to
encourage customers to carry their parcels home and not ship them. United Parcel Service shifted
strategy to expand their retail store services. The next strategy change was to pursue the common

Emergency Medical Services ( Emergency Care )
As you may know, it does not matter where you are in the United States of America, you have the
opportunity to call 911 and receive emergency medical care. Depending on where you are when you
make that call may have an effect on how long it takes for someone to get to you. So, what defines the
word emergency? Is it a life threading situation, or just an everyday illness? Community Paramedicine
has many benefits, from helping cut down on people being re admitted to the hospital, to helping
people not misuse the emergency 911 system even if they do not realize they are doing so. Some
people may not realize that different emergency medical services run anywhere from one thousand
calls a year to one million calls a year. Community Paramedicine can help the so called frequent flyers
to where they do not call as much and they are more independent thus freeing up time, money, and
resources. For paramedics to respond to those life threating emergencies.
Emergency medical services has 4 levels of certification. Emergency medical responder, emergency
medical technician, advanced emergency medical technician, and paramedic. Progressing at each level
you gain more skills, responsibility, and knowledge, but all of which are within emergency and urgent
care. Some people get tired and burned out faster than others. Putting Community Paramedicine into
the mix adds another level as well as provides opportunity for paramedics that have twenty plus years

The University Of District Of Columbia Community College...
Community Colleges were developed with the purpose of providing an affordable and accessible
education. By providing students with both academic and learning skills, community colleges
continue to remain an essential part of today s society. Throughout the years, community colleges
have continued to develop and transform to provide resources to meet the needs of their students. As
new community colleges began to develop, it is critical that they are aware of the political issues that
community colleges face. For this assignment, I will discuss the University of District of Columbia
Community College and its governance. In addition, I will provide information on federal and local
government involvement, leadership structure, political culture, student demographics, and
community groups. Lastly, I will provide recommendations on how to address the issue of
governance.
History of University of District of Columbia Community College In 2008, a push by Barbra Long
was made to establish a community college in Washington, DC. The reason for this push was to train
residents of DC to be equipped with skills to allow them careers in the workforce, which would aid in
tax dollars and assisting with decreasing dependency on city resources by individuals whom lacked
skills (Molzt, 2008). In 2009, it was announced that a community college under the name Community
College of the District of Columbia would be formed to serve the needs of residents of the District of
Columbia.

Education And Success Levels Of All Students On Their Campus
Introduction and Background The main idea of ELCC Standard One is the role the administrator takes
to influence the education and success levels of all students on their campus. It is imperative the
administrator works with all stakeholders to help facilitate the development, articulation, and
implementation of a vision that everyone can agree on. The principal must embrace and support their
vision before they can expect others to share their vision. It is important for the administrator to build

Examples Of Evil In Jekyll And Hyde
Mask of Evil What is Evil? The meaning of evil is profoundly immoral and malevolent. Some
examples of evil are anonymously emailing death threats, suing someone who did nothing wrong in
order to try to collect a big payday and passing on information that you know is a lie about a political
opponent. These are not truly evil, they are mainly rude. The mask I made shows that there are 2
different faces. It represents that most evil people have 2 faces. (They wear a fake face while they also

Causes Of The Boston Massacre
In March of 1770, the tensions were high between the American colonist and the British soldiers

There was a rule about how the soldiers were only allowed to fire if and only if the crowd had not

The mob grew to over 300 angry colonists. In the mob of angry colonist there was confusion, some

was struck and hit by an object thrown by one of the colonists, he fired his weapon into the crowd.
Several other British troops followed his actions, before the massacre came to an end and the crowd

The Snake River History
The Snake River is the largest tributary of the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest. One of the
most important rivers in the region, it rises in the mountains of the Continental Divide near the
southeastern corner of Yellowstone National Park and flows through Idaho and Oregon before finally
emptying into the Columbia River in Washington. Fifteen dams have been built on the 1040 mile
Snake River and its tributaries, mainly for purposes of providing irrigation water and hydroelectric
power, ranging in size from small diversion dams to major high dams. While the many dams have
transformed the region s economy, they have also had an adverse environmental effect on wildlife,
most notably on wild salmon migrations. Nearby Hells Canyon is one ... Show more content on

Early fur traders and explorers noted regional trading centers, and archaeological evidence has shown
some to be of considerable antiquity. One such trading center in the Weiser area existed as early as
4,500 years ago. On the Snake River in southeastern Washington there are several ancient sites. One
of the oldest and most well known is called the Marmes Rockshelter, which was used from over
11,000 years ago to relatively recent times. Eventually, two large Native American groups controlled
most of the Snake River: the Nez Perce, whose territory stretched from the southeastern Columbia
Plateau into northern Oregon and western Idaho, and the Shoshone, who occupied the Snake River
Plain both above and below Shoshone Falls. Below Shoshone Falls, the economy centered on salmon,
who often came up the river in enormous numbers. Salmon were the mainstay of the Nez Perce and
most of the other tribes below Shoshone Falls. Above the falls, life was significantly different. The
Snake River Plain forms one of the only relatively easy paths across the main Rocky Mountains for
many hundreds of miles, allowing Native Americans both east and west of the mountains to interact.
As a result, the Shoshone centered on a trading

Analysis of the Movie Soundtrack Eternal Sunshine of the...
Sound
Choosing the soundtrack for a movie is another difficult task that a director has to do because they
have to find a perfect song or an instrumental track that will fit or compliment the scene that they are
editing. The soundtrack of a movie is also a guaranteed way of effecting the emotions of the audience
members. As a result, directors spend a great deal of time in choosing the right soundtrack for the
movie. They want to make sure that they target the correct emotions for each scene. The sequence of
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind featured many different sounds; such as, speech, music and
sound effects.
The scene begins with Joel and Clementine laying underneath a blanket. Clementine is telling Joel a
story from her childhood, and as she tells the story, we can hear music in the background, which is
considered non diegetic sound because the audience can hear it but not the characters in the movie.
The music we hear, as audience members, is very calming and smooth and continues to play as
Clementine tells her story. We then see Joel crawling between blankets because he is trying to catch up
with a memory that is currently being erased. As he moves to another memory, we can hear another
type of non diegetic sound; however, this time it is harsh and fast, which indicates that he is moving
fast because he does not want the memory to be erased. We continue hearing this harsh sound as he
remembers the beginning of the memory of him and Clementine

Pennsylvania Musical Arts
Central Pennsylvania, and specifically, the Harrisburg area, is full of many potentially bright minds
who unfortunately can t always find the right place with people who will nurture and encourage them.
Plagued with the common national problem of an overpopulation of students paired with an
understaffing of teachers, many of these minds go by without anyone to guide them in the right
direction. As a result, intelligence that could be used to better the world around us is directed toward
darker things such as crime and violence. Fortunately, there are groups in the area that are making an

and consequently go onto some of the most renowned musical colleges in the world. The
Pennsylvania Academy of Music is a lot like the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in that they
both aspire to make readily available music and the arts to whoever seeks them. They are also similar
in that they educate on the subjects. However, they do differ in that PAM offers a high school diploma,
while PAFA s school is a secondary education school. Also, because it is older, PAFA holds more

more of an impact than PAM because of its age and resources.

However, it ultimately led to cataclysmic bloodshed and contributed to the United States escalation

can lead to prolonged feelings of acrimony and antipathy among opposing groups and eventually incur
even greater conflict. For example, in D.J. MacHale s Rivers of Zadaa, the belligerent Batu and
Rokador tribes experience resentment towards one another because of a tenuous treaty between the

In which petri dish did you observe the highest hatching viability? Did the results support your
prediction in Pre Laboratory Question #2?
The petri dish with the highest hatching viability was the 1.0% dish. No, the results did not support my
prediction in the pre laboratory question #2. My prediction did not match the results because in the
1.5% petri dish it showed a lower hatching viability compared to the 1.0% petri dish. After, the results
came out it was proven that the best NaCl solution for the brine shrimp was the 1.0 petri dish because
it wasn t too concentrated and it wasnt too little.
Explain, in terms of natural selection, why one saline solution yielded the highest hatching viability of
brine shrimp.
Natural selection is the process whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive
and produce more offspring. One saline solution yielded the highest hatching viability because only
one of the solutions was suitable for the brine shrimps and they were able to adapt to that place. The

One of the limitation was that the experiment was unable to simulate the effects of predation. In an
actual environment some of the brine shrimp eggs could have been eaten before they are able to hatch,
but since this was in a petri dish there was no such thing as predators that have reduced the hatching
viability of the brine shrimp eggs. Another, limitation was the exact amount of brine shrimps you
could brush up. This made the hatching viability to not be as accurate because there was different
amount of eggs to start with. If there was an equal amount of eggs to begin with the hatching viability
percentage would have been more accurate since they all started the same. These two limitations made

Magical Realism In The NoseAndDon Ysidro
Magical realism, is a form of literary genre that takes the reader on a journey somewhere between the
mundane of ordinary everyday life, to the supernatural world of uncertainty where things are accepted
without question or reason. A gap exists between two world s the ordinary and the extra ordinary
which can be examined in two stories of this genre, The Nose by Nikolai Gogol, and Don Ysidro by
Bruce Holland Rogers. While both have similarities in tone consistent with this genre, such as being
serious and realistic, the stories do have differences in the specific tone of the dialogue the authors use
to describe characters and parts of the story. A comparison and contrast of the above two stories will
reveal both the similarities and differences between stories as they relate to the genre of magical
realism.
Traditional magical realist stories have many similarities that exist to place them in this particular
genre of literature. A tone that is both serious and realistic exists, and connects these two stories in this
genre. Real world settings with real world experiences, where no new worlds are invented or created,
leads the reader to believe what they are reading and adds to a seriousness and realistic view of the
story. Normality is disrupted, just as all seems real, with the injection of a fantastical event as seen in
both stories. In The Nose, a Russian Barber, Ivan Jakovlevitch, of St. Petersburg wakes to a morning
of fresh bread made by his wife, only to

Genetic Mistakes
There are two ways that that an organism can develop beneficial mutations, sexual reproduction and
whenever there are mistakes during DNA replication. There is an enzyme call DNA polymerase that is
in charge of proofreading the template strand. It reads the newly added base to make sure it is paired
up correctly. However sometimes these mistakes are not corrected and lead to mutation. The benefits
of mutation are that it brings genetic diversity. Mutations cause a change in DNA that lead to new
genetic variation (Alleles) in a population. With these mutations that occur during DNA replication
and sexual reproduction, they introduce more desirable phenotypes in the offspring. With time these
organisms develop more features that help with their survival. These mutations are developed by the
changes that occur in the base pairs.

The Impact Of Technology On Technology
Technology builds, transforms, and inspires. Every aspect of one s creative, personal, and professional
life can be stored and backed up on technology. Because of its innumerable capabilities and relevance,
one could infer that there is an oddly intimate relationship between humans and technology, simply by
stating one would feel uncomfortable and naked without it. Mobile communication, more specifically
social media, leads to a further understanding of how technology plays an influential role in the lives
of youth. Many preadolescents acquire mobile devices and rely on them for the majority of their play;
therefore at such a young age, the device and the child become inseparable which hinders the child
from participating in other activities. In sum, parents or guardians should not let their children acquire
a mobile device before the age of 10 to prevent advanced digital technology from invading and
occupying their lives. The underlying problem is that one on one communication between parent and
child is more impactful than the use of mobile devices because it allows both parent and child to have
a more intimate and understanding relationship. Parents should be the example and be upfront with
their children on monitoring online behavior, and furthermore, be challenging themselves to become
more familiar with the complexities of the advancements of new technology so that they are aware of
what their child could be a part of. Simone Orlowski, writer of The Promise and the

The term Hispanic means people who come from a country where Spanish is spoken. And the term
Latino means someone who comes from Latin America.
Because of our Latin American origins, Hispanic Americans are also called Latinos. Within this soon

ethnic origins. They are not from one nationality or one culture, but are from many different origins.
Many Latinos identify themselves with their cultural or national background. For example someone
who is born in the U.S, but his/her parents are from Mexico can call him or herself Mexican. The three
largest groups of Latinos in the United States are Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, and Cuban
Americans. Many Puerto Ricans also call themselves Boricua. Members of subgroups sometimes use
more specialized names. For example, some Mexican Americans call themselves Chicanos, and Puerto
Ricans living in New York State often refer to themselves as Nuyoricans.
Many Latinos in the U.S. are descendants of Mexican people who lived in the Southwest when it was
taken as plunders of war or acquired in a series of land sales. In many cases, their ancestors became
Americans not by their own choice. Almost all other American Latinos or their ancestors migrated
here from Latin America in search of a better life and opportunities. As a group, Latinos represent a

The Enlightenment Set the Stage for New Imperialism
New imperialism was the mid nineteenth and twentieth centuries cultural equivalent to a modern day
mafia, its roots entangled in the economic, cultural, and humanistic aspects of life. The sole objective
of the nations entailed the exploitation of their controlled state. Gestating from the change in control
of Asian and African nations to the Europeans by means of political deviance, malicious sieges, and
strategic military attacks. The juxtaposition to the modern equivalent endures as the aforesaid is
sheltered by the fairytale that these nations were in need of aid and by doing so the Europeans were
the good guys. The ideas of new imperialism are greatly influenced by those of the enlightenment.

An account of the extreme dependence on the slave trade is that of the Robin Johns. Brothers who
endured years of harsh conditions and experienced the nefarious realities of the trade firsthand, yet
they continued to trade slaves upon returning home as free men; justified only by their strong ties to
Britain and their unique skills (Sparks, 147). The enlightenment formed a pretense of universalism,
while new imperialism furthered the fairytale. Tabula Rosa, meaning blank slate, was a term John
Locke used to convey the ability to convert people through the influence of the environment around an
individual (Genova, 1/13). This was used during new imperialism as a scapegoat. Nations set out on
civilizing missions in order to disguise their imperialist nature. Furthermore, The White Mans Burden
was a written work that was used to rationalize destroying cultures and creating satellite nations,
because it was their burden to help the people of the less sophisticated nations. This aid was in the
form of forced colonization, imbalanced trade, and forced slavery. For example, the Portuguese set out
on their mission of new imperialism to gain trade and slaves (Genova, 2/15). Stemming from
universalism, imperialist nations pursued the enlightenment idea of social Darwinism. Which equated
to survival of the fittest, not only were the subject of Darwin s original experiment animals, the

A Project Manager For The Success Of Acer Inc.
I Worked with Nokia Solutions Networks as a Project Manager for many years. Acer is one of the
largest telecommunication companies in the world. Over the years, the company has emerged from a
small local business to become successfully global. Its visionary founder took into account its difficult
path as the best way in which the company could prosper towards the acquisition of the global market.
As Barrow (2011) contends, one of the factors that has promoted the success of Acer Inc. is the proper
financial systems and budget employed in the management of its finances. For example, in 1976, it
was founded with a capital of US$25ooo, but has grown steadily to become a multibillionaire
company, together with its other close competitors (Barrow, 2011).
Running a company often requires carefully planning and review of finances. Various studies reveal
that most companies use other forms of accounting mainly for measuring, identifying, analyzing, and
reporting their financial information. In spite of making tremendous success, proper financial budget
planning is still important for the development and success of Acer Company. In this way, accounting
tools may include financial statements, forecasts, and other may be employed. Proper budget planning
is important to the business in the following ways. Firstly, through the budget, detailed information on
the analysis of how the company anticipates spending its finances, in future times can be revealed.

Edwin H. Sutherland s formulation of differential association theory proposed that delinquency, like
any other form of behavior, is a product of social interaction. On October 14th, 2002, 17 year old Lee
Boyd Malvo was charged by the state of Virginia for two capital crimes: the murder of FBI analyst
Linda Franklin in the commission of an act of terrorism and the murder of more than one person in a
three year period. Sutherland s nine propositions of differential association best explains Malvo s act
for the following reasons: (1) Malvo learned how to commit each heinous crime through his social

Edwin H. Sutherland s propositions of differential association argues criminal behavior, like any other
behavior, is learned from others. That is, delinquent behavior is not an inherited trait but rather an
acquired one (Juvenile Delinquency, p.153). Sutherland claims that criminal behavior/ juvenile
delinquency is learned through a youth s relationship within intimate personal groups. These intimate
groups are far more influential for adolescents than any other form of communication such as the
media. In the case of Lee Boyd Malvo, he had a personal relationship with Muhammad, Malvo s
mother ex boyfriend. After Malvo s biological father left his mother, she often left Malvo unattended
and in the care of friends. Malvo s mother eventually abandoned him again which he then went to live
with Muhammad, a gulf war veteran, who had became his father figure, friend and mentor. Malvo s
longing for a father was replaced by Muhammad and the duration of his time outside of school was
with Muhammad. Malvo had only been living in the United States for a year after migrating from
Jamaica, before he moved in with Muhammad. One can assume that Malvo became attached to
Muhammad because he lacked a father figure as well as companionship in a new country where he felt
alienated from family and friends in Jamaica. Muhammad later converted Malvo to Islam.
If the principal learning of criminal behavior occurs within intimate personal groups, differential

Introduction
The movement of people is a crucial aspect to consider in contemporary development, not only around
the world, but within a single municipality. According to Code Red , an extensively researched article
published in The Hamilton Spectator in 2010, the most underdeveloped area of Hamilton exists in its
downtown district. The proposed Light Rail Transit system is a public transit project that could
revolutionize the downtown core of Hamilton, Ontario and improve the city s rate of urban
development. This report will discuss and justify a proposal for a North South route, including three
stations/stops, and rejected routes and stations.

Miranda Vs Arizona Case Study
Case Study of Miranda vs. Arizona Professor Naumoski POL 1113 Fall 2014 By Sachet Khanal The
Supreme Court has been playing a very important role in the governmental system of United States
since a long time. The Constitution has awarded it a great deal of power to keep the actions of the

providing equal justice under the law and protecting the civil rights of the citizens. Some of the

by the court in this case established the footwork for many of the current principles governing

rulings might sometimes even let a criminal walk out free or with a lighter sentence if the police fails
to cite the rights of the convict, while other times it servers to fulfill its main purpose of preserving

his own ministry. Newton wrote of what God had done for him in the song, Amazing Grace. (Cage)
The beauty and meaning behind this hymn is to describe the amazing grace of God which dwells in
his love for saving and a lost soul such as himself. (Cage) John s words helped him spread the word of
God and how he can deliver anyone from sinful ways. As he entered the end of his life John realized
that he was born again spiritually. He is no longer a wretched sinner but a new creation in Christ Jesus.
(Cage) The words John used in Amazing Grace reflects a Christian worldview as each verse mirror s
scripture. It starts with Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! Ephesians
says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (KJV
Ephesians 2:8) This is the main journey for comprehending God s grace and love. The option of being
saved is involved in the salvation given to us by God s anger, by our sins. 2 Timothy 1:9 says, Who
hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own
purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Eucharist, And The Sacrifice Of Black Bodies Analysis
Neoliberalism, Eucharist, and the Sacrifice of Black Bodies In contextualizing the relationship
between the neoliberal movements within the institutional American Catholic Church (the hierarchy)
and African American Catholic community, one better understands the theological and cultural forces
that are clashing. It is through this examination of the neoliberal manipulation of the hierarchical voice
of American Catholicism within the discourse of American politics, and its subsequent effects on
Black bodies an echo of the more sinister objective of the elites is heard. As American institutional
Catholicism plays its role within the elevation and sanctification of whiteness (through the furthering
of the neoliberal movements of Westoxification and commodification) the institution of religion is
being hollowed out. As American institutional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This lens is the framework that empowered the horde of angry white men to rape and lynch Laura
Nelson and Cordella Stevenson as their right as white men seeking retribution for some false crime.
This lens is the framework that empowered white police officers to disregard the body, cries, and life
of Sandra Bland as she died under their custody. This lens is the framework that empowered the
murders of Emmitt Till to torture and kill a 14 year old boy as a way to uphold the honor of white
masculinity and the purity of white femininity. This lens empowered the murders of Jordan Davis and
Trayvon Martin to take justice into their hands and kill these young men out of a false sense of fear
and unfounded need for protection. Indeed, this liturgy (through embracing radical capitalism and
commodifying Blackness) has created a world of hostility toward Blackness. This liturgy is the work
of white supremacy through means of systemic and institutional

Elli Monologue
Love is something we all want and repeatedly wish to get someone who will take care of us. Is it
possible that all your hope and dreams about love just shattered because of what you expected, did not
turn out to be the reality. You feel as if everything is over and no hope for anything. You will never
love anyone or find yourself to be attracted toward someone. However, even though Animal is four
footed, he expects to fall in love with Nisha. He is aware of the fact that there will be no love for him,
but never loses hope. Elli is trying to help the people in Khafpur, but they don t trust him. I believe
even though Elli had connection with the lawyer, she came to help Animal and the victims in Khafpur.
I trust Elli, but the only one in this

Human Primates And Human Primate
For my final paper for this class I will be going over and portraying the behavior of non human
primate and human primate in the literature and movies we went over, compared to the evolutionary
understandings of primate behavior. Throughout this class we studied and compared the different
primates, including human and non humans. According to the Wikipedia, The primate lineage is
thought to go back at least 65 million years ago. with that one could say that research on non human
and human primate can somehow explain the theory behind evolution. In addition to the different
reading materials we had in class we also watched several movies displaying different behaviors of
non human primate and human primate. With that saying, I developed a thesis statement, despite its
differences and similarities between non human primates and human primates behavior, can evolution
be understood differently when comparing the two through various readings, movies and evolutionary
research. Throughout this paper I will be going over the differences and similarities in behavior,
evolution, a higher power and even my take on such an opposition. First, I want to go over and talk
about the Evolutionary Theory. The Evolutionary Theory is a theory that has been supported by years
of experiments which is known as being one of the best speculation of natural occurrence. The
changes on earth through different events that occurred over time could be the cause of such a variety
of species to exist on

Our study shows that EU deregulation altered the five competitive forces in European airline industry and in turn this fostered entrepreneurship and innovation, as a reaction of firms to adapt to the change in their context. The reaction of Ryanair and SAS through entrepreneurial and innovative behaviour was different due to the differences in their business model. We argue that the removal of barriers to new entrants and the increased rivalry between firms were the main forces that fostered entrepreneurship and innovation. We predict that if further EU deregulation comes (as it is the trend) this will generate more opportunities to entrepreneurship and innovation like it generated in the past. • 3. Keep Your Head Up By Ben Howard Keep Your Head Up Music is an art that has the capability of drawing out the deepest emotion within us. For that very reason, we are extremely attracted to such art. Different genres attract diverse groups of people. Often it is easy to spark memories within our consciousness by listening to particular songs. For me personally, I have a bittersweet connection to the song, Keep Your Head Up, By Ben Howard because the lyrics provoke happiness and encouragement, a couple of traits I struggle with at times, yet the tune sparks beautiful memories with an estranged, beloved friend. My sophomore year of high school was one of the hardest years I have ever been through, mentally and emotionally. Depression, lack of self esteem, and addiction had always affected my life in some way, whether it be through close family members or friends or within my own self. Through series of events, I found myself in a terrible place in life in my sophomore year of high school, and I had not the slightest clue how to solve it. At some points, I did not even really care to fix it. I struggled maintaining grades and maintaining relationships with my friends as well as my parents. I was simply not a pleasant person to be around, yet somehow, in all of this mess I called my life, someone special walked in, unexpectedly, and managed to spark a change within me. We were instant best friends. People assumed we had known each other since a young age, some even went to the extent of believing we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Is Henry Norwest s Life Like Life In The Trenches Once he arrived in France it was a unique experience for him, life at the front was a new lifestyle that he was not used to, but he adjusted to his new environment and was able to thrive. Life in the trenches was different from anything Henry had ever experienced, it was not a pleasant lifestyle. The trenches were filled with water and mud that usually went past the soldiers knees due to the heavy rainfall. This lead to many soldiers getting trench foot a condition that occurs with extended exposure of the foot to wet, unsanitary, and cold conditions. This was just one of the many diseases that were contracted by soldiers in the trenches. Henry Norwest was one of the soldiers who was lucky enough to not get any of these ailments. Henry s ... Describe how you would standardize your test and assess its reliability and validity. Explain why it might be more difficult to develop a valid musical aptitude test than a reliable one. It is difficult to develop a valid musical aptitude test because most of the time, the measures of the aptitude are misunderstood and demands that are unrealistic, made on them. Validity should be seen as construct validity. The problem sources are in two groups. The first group uses composite validity criteria. This forms the assumption that they are not dimensional. The second one uses subject groups. The groups do not represent the distribution of the construct in whole. In order to maximize the ecological validity, composite measures must be used as the criteria for validity. • 6. How a Mosquito Bite Can Cost the US Millions of Dollars U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the country spends millions of dollars each year in the treatment of West Nile virus disease, a condition transmitted to humans by a mosquito bite. In fact, hospitalizations and follow ups related to the disease cost nearly $800M in healthcare expenses as well as lost productivity since 1999. This means that the United States spends about $56M annually for direct and indirect costs brought about by the mosquito borne West Nile virus. These findings were based on research published online by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. The Cost of West Nile Virus Disease Recent research shows that being bitten by a mosquito that transmits the West Nile virus (WNV) can cost the government millions of dollars in terms of hospitalization, medications, follow up visits, and lost work. After examining more than 37,000 WNV infections reported to the CDC (1999 2012), investigators found more than 18,000 patients were hospitalized and more than 1,500 people died from the disease. More than 16,000 individuals developed complications, such as neurologic sequelae, of which elderly patients were at high risk for severe complications. However, CDC reports that the number of patients affected by the disease may be more than the actual cases reported since 1999. Furthermore, the researchers believe that the costs calculated may have been underestimated since most of these were based on initial costs incurred ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Effects Of Aging On The Elderly Population Introduction Several aspects of aging can be debilitating for the elderly population, as they often include loneliness, general decline, and lack of social support (Anisman, 2014). The senior population, already at large, is projected to surpass that of other age groups and increase the burden on our health care system. Only a small proportion of individuals age successfully, with the majority experiencing a spectrum of cognitive impairments that can manifest into neurodegenerative disorders. This is due to a broad range of factors, including genetic and environmental determinants that ultimately shape the aging process. The hippocampus, a subcortical brain region, is responsible for mediating memory consolidation, spatial navigation, and to some extent learning (Kolb and Whishaw, 2013). It is particularly impaired in old individuals and the focus of numerous experiments aimed at delaying degeneration or alternatively enhancing neurogenesis. This limbic structure is readily influenced by the stress response, namely the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis (Kolb and Whishaw, 2013). Aged individuals tend to exhibit elevated levels of corticosteroids, which promote hippocampal deterioration (Cameron and McKay, 1999). A specific region within the hippocampus, the dentate gyrus, is unique in that it not only succumbs to such effects but continues to undergo neurogenesis (Cameron and McKay, 1999). However, the rate of neurogenesis is reduced if not inhibited in old ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Normans had specially trained warriors called knights who wore chainmail armour and rode on horseback, the knights were the first of the English to fight on horseback so this gave the Normans an advantage over Harold s army. Specifically, I ll be focusing on the themes of community and individual values told through trickster god narratives with a concentration on environmentalism. Initially, it s important to establish the tropes and traits of trickster gods, so I can establish a firm link between Rick Sanchez and trickster gods of old. This will give the social commentary and myth of Adult Swims Rick and Morty a figurative leg to stand on. Beginning, let s define common traits and relay them to specific examples in trickster myths. Trickster God s are often wandering, bawdy, gluttonous, and obscene (Levine 100) selfish, amoral, foolish, destructive, and as the name indicates, given to duping others in his own interests (Levine 100). Emergency Medical Services ( Emergency Care ) As you may know, it does not matter where you are in the United States of America, you have the opportunity to call 911 and receive emergency medical care. Depending on where you are when you make that call may have an effect on how long it takes for someone to get to you. So, what defines the word emergency? Is it a life threading situation, or just an everyday illness? Community Paramedicine has many benefits, from helping cut down on people being re admitted to the hospital, to helping people not misuse the emergency 911 system even if they do not realize they are doing so. Some people may not realize that different emergency medical services run anywhere from one thousand calls a year to one million calls a year. In addition, I will provide information on federal and local government involvement, leadership structure, political culture, student demographics, and community groups. Lastly, I will provide recommendations on how to address the issue of governance. History of University of District of Columbia Community College In 2008, a push by Barbra Long was made to establish a community college in Washington, DC. The reason for this push was to train residents of DC to be equipped with skills to allow them careers in the workforce, which would aid in tax dollars and assisting with decreasing dependency on city resources by individuals whom lacked skills (Molzt, 2008). In 2009, it was announced that a community college under the name Community College of the District of Columbia would be formed to serve the needs of residents of the District of Columbia. ... The soundtrack of a movie is also a guaranteed way of effecting the emotions of the audience members. As a result, directors spend a great deal of time in choosing the right soundtrack for the movie. They want to make sure that they target the correct emotions for each scene. Clementine is telling Joel a story from her childhood, and as she tells the story, we can hear music in the background, which is considered non diegetic sound because the audience can hear it but not the characters in the movie. The music we hear, as audience members, is very calming and smooth and continues to play as Clementine tells her story. We then see Joel crawling between blankets because he is trying to catch up with a memory that is currently being erased. As he moves to another memory, we can hear another type of non diegetic sound; however, this time it is harsh and fast, which indicates that he is moving fast because he does not want the memory to be erased. Because of its innumerable capabilities and relevance, one could infer that there is an oddly intimate relationship between humans and technology, simply by stating one would feel uncomfortable and naked without it. Mobile communication, more specifically social media, leads to a further understanding of how technology plays an influential role in the lives of youth. Many preadolescents acquire mobile devices and rely on them for the majority of their play; therefore at such a young age, the device and the child become inseparable which hinders the child from participating in other activities. In sum, parents or guardians should not let their children acquire a mobile device before the age of 10 to prevent advanced digital technology from invading and occupying their lives. The underlying problem is that one on one communication between parent and child is more impactful than the use of mobile devices because it allows both parent and child to have a more intimate and understanding relationship. • 41. The Song Of Amazing Grace By John Newton Amazing Grace is one of the most popular hymnals in history. This song was written over one hundred years ago by John Newton. It was created because of John discovering the beauty of God s grace and why it is important. It was John s testimony in form of a song however, many of us may be unaware of how John came up with the words to describe such God s gift. John Newton was once a captain of a slave ship One night while aboard a ship called The Greyhound he became face to face with a vicious North Atlantic storm which lasted over a week. (Serverance) The ship sails were torn and the wood on one side of the ship was destroyed. (Serverance) The lives of the ship s crewmembers were not looking too promising, they did the best they ... Newton wrote of what God had done for him in the song, Amazing Grace. (Cage) The beauty and meaning behind this hymn is to describe the amazing grace of God which dwells in his love for saving and a lost soul such as himself. (Cage) John s words helped him spread the word of God and how he can deliver anyone from sinful ways. As he entered the end of his life John realized that he was born again spiritually. He is no longer a wretched sinner but a new creation in Christ Jesus. (Cage) The words John used in Amazing Grace reflects a Christian worldview as each verse mirror s scripture. It starts with Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! Ephesians says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (KJV Ephesians 2:8) This is the main journey for comprehending God s grace and love. The option of being saved is involved in the salvation given to us by God s anger, by our sins. 2 Timothy 1:9 says, Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, ... • 42. Eucharist, And The Sacrifice Of Black Bodies Analysis Neoliberalism, Eucharist, and the Sacrifice of Black Bodies In contextualizing the relationship between the neoliberal movements within the institutional American Catholic Church (the hierarchy) and African American Catholic community, one better understands the theological and cultural forces that are clashing. It is through this examination of the neoliberal manipulation of the hierarchical voice of American Catholicism within the discourse of American politics, and its subsequent effects on Black bodies an echo of the more sinister objective of the elites is heard. As American institutional Catholicism plays its role within the elevation and sanctification of whiteness (through the furthering of the neoliberal movements of Westoxification and commodification) the institution of religion is being hollowed out. As American institutional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This lens is the framework that empowered the murders of Emmitt Till to torture and kill a 14 year old boy as a way to uphold the honor of white masculinity and the purity of white femininity. This lens empowered the murders of Jordan Davis and Trayvon Martin to take justice into their hands and kill these young men out of a false sense of fear and unfounded need for protection. • 44. Human Primates And Human Primate For my final paper for this class I will be going over and portraying the behavior of non human primate and human primate in the literature and movies we went over, compared to the evolutionary understandings of primate behavior. Throughout this class we studied and compared the different primates, including human and non humans. According to the Wikipedia, The primate lineage is thought to go back at least 65 million years ago. with that one could say that research on non human and human primate can somehow explain the theory behind evolution. In addition to the different reading materials we had in class we also watched several movies displaying different behaviors of non human primate and human primate. With that saying, I developed a thesis statement, despite its differences and similarities between non human primates and human primates behavior, can evolution be understood differently when comparing the two through various readings, movies and evolutionary research. Throughout this paper I will be going over the differences and similarities in behavior, evolution, a higher power and even my take on such an opposition. First, I want to go over and talk about the Evolutionary Theory. The Evolutionary Theory is a theory that has been supported by years of experiments which is known as being one of the best speculation of natural occurrence.
