Rotavirus In Children
By their fifth birthday, almost all children have been infected by rotavirus. Annually, rotaviruses cause
approximately 111 million incidences of gastroenteritis in children, 2 million hospitalisations, and
between 352,000 and 592,000 deaths.1 Gastroenteritis is an acute inflammation of the stomach and
intestines and it has a significant impact on childhood mortality and morbidity worldwide. It is caused
by rotavirus, which after infecting the lining of the intestines, triggers severe diarrhoea in young
children.2 However, with the development of vaccines, the threat of disease by rotavirus has been
significantly reduced.
What is Rotavirus? Rotavirus is a genus of double stranded RNA virus within the family Reoviridae.

the occurrence of illness between developed and developing countries. This lack of difference
indicates that improvements in hygiene do not reduce the transmissibility of the virus.12 However, the
development of vaccines has greatly decreased the threat of disease caused by rotavirus. Two oral
vaccines, RotaTeq and Rotarix, have been implemented to safely control rotavirus infections.13 Both
of these vaccinations are classified as live attenuated vaccines, meaning that it contains a weakened
version of the living microbe, making it unable to cause disease.14 Studies have shown that RotaTeq
and Rotarix provide effective protection against rotavirus and it is now recommended by the World
Health Organization (WHO) to include the rotavirus vaccine in the national immunisation programs of
all countries.15 While these vaccines have produced effective protection against the most common
strains of rotavirus, effectiveness on uncommon strains is still

Dreams Definition Essay
Dreams. We all have them. But why? What causes us to dream about the seemingly most random
things? A dream, by definition, is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person s
mind during sleep. Therefore, the quality of a person s sleep must somehow affect their dreaming
patterns. There are 5 stages of sleep that a person passes through each night, supposing that the person
actually goes to sleep. Stage 1 of sleep is very light and lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes. Brain activity
lowers to around 50% or more. This slowly leads us into a deeper sleep and it is not uncommon to
experience myoclonic jerks and hypnagogic imagery while thus stage progresses. During stage 2 of
sleep our brain activity lowers even more and the

Company Infrastructure
Abstract
There are certain benefits in having a well set up and thought out infrastructure within a company.
However when setting up an infrastructure or changing an existing infrastructure there are a number of
things a company should conceder in order to end up with the infrastructure that best works for them
and their company.
Business infrastructures usually consist of booth LAN and WAN area networks. Businesses will use a
LAN to connect network devices over a short distance, such as an office building or school.
Occasionally one building will contain a few small LANs, and sometimes a LAN will span a group of
nearby buildings. LANs are usually owned, controlled, and managed by a single person or ... Show

WAN networks basically connect two or more LAN networks (Woodcock, 1999). There for a
company can benefit from using a WAN network when they have offices in different cities, states, or
countries. It is important for a business to understand how they plan on using LAN and WAN
networks when designing an infrastructure that will work best for them. A business infrastructure is
generally made up of the processes, procedures, and systems within a company. And if a company is
to maintain a competitive edge and stay a step or two ahead of its competitors, it will need to have and
maintain a solid infrastructure. When a company has a solid infrastructure they are more likely to see
an ongoing improvement with the efficiency of their employees (Hughes Kaplan, 2009). This is
because a solid infrastructure allows employees to better communicate and work more effectively. In
order for a company to create or build an infrastructure that will work best for them, there are a few
things in which they should address. One thing they should do is to consult with outside resources and
customers as well as employees in order to determine what type of infrastructure will best address
their company s needs. The company should be sure to define how they would like the infrastructure
to help them in achieving their goals. Find out what it is that their customers need from the business
infrastructure, along with what their employees and management will need for the

Scientific Discoveries Of The Scientific Revolution
Scientific Revolution
The Scientific Revolution refers to a time in history when developments in the sciences took off and
changed the view of society regarding the earth and nature. Some of the relevant topics of this time
were mathematics, astronomy, biology, physics and chemistry. Typically, the scientific revolution is
considered the time in Europe starting around the end of the Renaissance period and lasting through
the late 18th century. Between 1543 and 1700, Europe underwent many changes that forever changed
the thoughts and beliefs of society as a result of the scientific revolution. During this time, the creation
of many inventions came about and the studies of many people changed the culture of society.

Harvey is given credit for being the first to accurately describe the entire circuit, including arteries and
veins, of where the blood starts in the circulation process and where it ends as a result of heart
contractions. In the publication submitted by Copernicus, he established a model of the universe that
depicted the Sun and not the Earth at the center of the universe. He described the Earth revolving
around the sun which was in contrast to earlier thinking that suggested the sun revolved around the
Earth (heliocentric theory). This revelation of thought started a change in the way the world was
viewed. Maybe the Earth was not the center of everything and maybe there was more out there that
could be learned in order to scientifically understand the world (Scientific revolution).
Johannes Kepler followed in the footsteps of Copernicus. He too believed that the sun was the center
of the universe. Kepler was a religious man and did not want to speak against his religious beliefs. He
therefore took a different approach. He studied the heavens in order to better understand how God put
the planets in motion around the sun. He is best known for his formulation of the Laws of planetary
Motion. The Laws of planetary Motion consisted of three parts. The first part was the belief that the
planets moved in elliptical orbits. The second part was the equal area law which

Doctor Relationship In Awakenings
I could have torn the child apart in my own fury and enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to attack her
(Williams 59). These are the thoughts in a doctor s conscious while trying to make a diagnosis on a
sick and defiant child. During the patient doctor relationship patients hold physicians to higher
standards than other occupations. They do not expect them to have vulgar thoughts towards clients
and make mistakes like everyone does in other jobs. In William Carlos Williams s The Doctor Stories
and the film Awakenings the patient doctor relationship as well as the life lessons learned by doctors
from patients are presented. Although with new technology and medicine diminishing the doctor
patient relationship there is a lot to learn from the life lessons the doctors get when interacting with
patients in the hardest part of their lives. The doctor patient relationship in the Awakenings with the
patents that have encephalitis is very weak when Dr. Sayer arrives at the psychiatric hospital. The
nurses and the physicians that are at the hospital are disconnected to the patients that have encephalitis
because it is hard for them to imagine that the patients are conscious and are trapped in their bodies.

Lenard is out of his catatonic state he is happy about everything in life. This makes Dr. Sayer learns

Israel s Impact On The West Bank
Israel has made travel between major Palestinian population centers (Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah,
Bethlehem, and Hebron) in the West Bank easier over the last several years. Several major
checkpoints in the West Bank that restricted direct movement between and into these cities have been
removed or modified. However, in general this opening is less the result of an overall easing in
movement restrictions than the result of the institutionalization of movement controls into a formal
and permanent regime of restrictions that has replaced roadblocks with gates that can be opened and
closed at the whim of the military and that has reconfiguring how Palestinians travel.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian ... Show more content

While Palestinian movement is severely restricted, a separate system of roads that are closed to
Palestinians or that bypass Palestinian communities has been set up for Settlers to ensure their
unrestricted movement in the West Bank and between the West Bank and Israel.[iii] According to the
Israeli human rights organization B Tselem,
there were 67 kilometers of roads in the West Bank that Israel classified for the sole, or practically
sole, use of Israelis, first and foremost of settlers. Israel also prohibits Palestinians from even crossing
some of these roads with vehicles, thereby restricting their access to nearby roads that they are
ostensibly not prohibited from using. In these cases, Palestinians travelers have to get out of their
vehicle, cross the road on foot, and find an alternative mode of transportation on the other side. [iv]
OCHA has also reported that in 2013 at least 55 West Bank communities which are home to more than
180,000 people remain completely isolated as a result of roadblocks, barriers, checkpoints and other
movement restrictions. All of the main roads into and out of these communities remain blocked and
residents wishing to leave these communities must use alternative routes that are two to five times
longer than the blocked direct routes. Many

The Characteristics Of A Serial Killer And The Zodiac Killer
In this paper, I will describe who the Zodiac Killer was, but also how a serial killer is different from a
normal homicide suspect. In addition, I will explain if the Zodiac Killer had specific criteria when he
selected his victims and whether a forensic psychologist or criminal profiler provided input in this
case. Finally, I will express my thoughts on why the Zodiac Killer was never captured and what else,
if anything could have been done to help find the infamous Zodiac Killer.
In order to explain how a serial killer is different than a normal homicide is to first understand how a
serial killer operates. On December 20, 1968, in the sleepy town of Benecia, California the murders of
a teenage couple were discovered in an area called lover s lane off Lake Herman Road. The victims,
Betty Lou Jensen and David Faraday, were shot while parked in their car around 11:10pm.
Investigators collected shell casings and other evidence from the scene, but after several months they
still did not have any witnesses or suspects. Then on July 4, 1969, a second young couple were
attacked by a gunman while in their car parked at Blue Rock Springs Park in Vallejo; about 10 miles
northwest of the Benecia murders. The female victim Darlene Ferrin died from her wounds, but
Michael Mageau who was shot in the leg, neck and jaw survived and was able to tell the police what
had occurred, along with a brief description of the gunman. Later, the gunman phoned the Vallejo

Luther Vs Catholic Church Beliefs
During the Middle Ages, Europe s religious beliefs was dominated by Catholicism, which is .......
however, Martin Luther challenged the teachings of the Catholic Church by posting his 95 theses in
1517, which were reasons on why the selling of indulgences, is immoral and misleading to people.
While many people had tried to challenge the catholic church s teachings in the past, like John
Wycliffe, Jan Huss, and William of Occam, Luther s ideas gained more of a following due to Johann
Gutenberg s printing press. Luther s following, which was........, broke off from Catholicism and began
to developed their own beliefs and practices. While there are many differences between the Catholic
and Lutheran religion, the most significant differences are their beliefs of salvation and the Bible, as
well as social practices.
A significant difference in the religious beliefs of Lutherans and Catholics is what to takes to achieve
salvation. Catholics believed that faith and good works could help someone enter heaven, while
Lutherans relied on faith alone. When the Catholic Church realized that there was an impending split
in Christianity, it called for the council of Trent, which was supposed to be a gathering of religious
authorities to help mend the gap between the splitting religion. While, the council of Trent was good
in theory, in practice it was not very successful. Higher church authorities in the Catholic Church did
not care about the call for reform from Luther s 95 theses. The Catholic

Globalization Of The United States
The United States is often defined as a capitalist economy, a concept created by a German economist
and social theorist Karl Marx, to define a system in which a minor group of persons, who regulate
large quantities of capital, create the most important economic decisions. Sometimes capitalism is
known as a global system of abuse because at times capitalism is centered on violence and
submission. Capitalism puts enormous pressure on society to make capital. In the United States have
seen a lot of fraud through the years, as well as other high profile crimes in which the fraud formed
part. The most feared crime by companies in developed countries is fraud, even compared to other
crimes such as theft and sabotage. Far from being under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ponzi fooled thousands of investors, he promised huge earnings on international reply coupons, which
could be acquired in one country and used for postage stamps in another country. The income would
be the difference in price between the two countries. He converted a millionaire in a few months, but
the scam took him down. Some parties started to investigate the accounts because there weren t
enough international coupons for his investment strategy to function. Actually, Ponzi was paying his
investors with newer investors money, staying with a huge quantity. In a few months, Ponzi acquired
$20 million, equivalent to $222 million in current dollar values, and six banks crumbled. On the other
hand, Bernie Madoff, a respectable financier, used the famous Ponzi scheme, which attracts investors
in by warranting high revenues. As mention before, Ponzi schemes consisted in using money from
new investors to pay off the guaranteed returns to the older investors. This makes the investment look
valid and profitable, even that was not generating any profit. In Madoff s case, things began to
complicate after clients demanded a total of $7 billion back in returns. Unfortunately for Bernie, he
did not have enough money to give back to his investors. According to CNNMoney, he only made $20
billion, even though he cheated investors out of $65 billion.

Upon the death of Roden in 1978, the Branch Davidians were once again led by the wife of the man

In 1981, Vernon Howell came to be known as the infamous David Koresh came to Mt. Carmel after
being ostracized from a Tyler Texas Church (CRI). A few years after his arrival trouble started
brewing between Koresh and Roden. Koresh and his followers went to kill Roden in 1987 yet failed.
Rodan and Koresh challenged one another to resurrect a dead body, Roden was the successful one.
However, the court system in Texas determined that Rodan was not victorious in the way that they
determined him guilty for exhuming a dead body (CRI).

The Positive Effects Of Employment On Lowering Recidivism
Much research has been done regarding the positive effect employment has on lowering recidivism.
However, little research has been done to determine the effect a criminal record, including registration
as a sex offender, has on finding gainful employment. Holzer s 1996 study (as cited by Johnson, 2006)
found that two thirds of employers in major cities would avoid hiring known ex offenders, indicating
that regardless of public policies that may make finding employment difficult, ex offenders ultimately
still have to overcome the social stigma of their criminal histories. Negative community attitudes
towards criminal history are even worse for those who are registered sex offenders (Willis, Levenson,
Ward, 2010). With the addition of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the researchers also found that the unemployment rate among released offenders was over
six times higher than that of the general population at the time of the study in 2009. Furthermore, the
unemployment rate among ex offenders within nine months of release from prison was between 92 97
percent. Potential Barriers to Employment Unemployment can be especially hard to tackle when a
limited number of fields are open to those who are looking for jobs. A 1998 Bureau of Justice
Statisitcs Report (as quoted by Travis, Solomon, Waul, 2001) found that a number of fields were off
limits to ex offenders looking for work, including law, real estate, medicine, nursing, physical therapy,
and education . Released sex offenders may face further restrictions in which fields they may enter
depending on the stipulations of their release. Johnson (2006) notes that due to internet usage
restrictions, some released sex offenders are not able to perform jobs that require use of the internet.
Such restrictions may severely limit the job opportunities for ex offenders. Once an ex offender finds a
field in which they can work, they can be subject to further scrutiny through the use of criminal
background checks by hiring managers. Nally, et al. (2014) noted a number of studies showing that

Specific Elements Of Non Fatal Offences
Introduction
In this assignment, I will be explaining specific elements of non fatal offence, comparing the elements
of two specific non fatal offences and I will also be evaluating the law and sentencing for each section
of non fatal offences.
Types of Non Fatal Offences
1. Assault
2. Battery
3. Assault occasioning actual body harm (ABH) Section 47 OAPA
4. Inflicting grievous bodily harm or wounding Section 20 OAPA
5. Inflicting grievous bodily harm or wounding with intent Section 18 OAPA
Assault
An assault simply means intentionally or recklessly causing the victim to become frightened
immediately, unlawful harm. An assault is conceded by a threat causing bodily harm with an apparent.
It s a crime and a tort consequently they both result in ether criminal or civil liability.
Actus reus of Assault
The actus reus of assault is any act that leads the victim to apprehend an instant infliction of unlawful
violence. Actus reus under assault has three different elements. The three different elements are;
causing the victim to apprehend violence, immediate violence and unlawful violence.
Causing the victim to apprehend violence does not require any physical element between the
defendant and the victim. The importance of the situation is what the victim thought was going to
happen. Even though the defendant might have taught their threat was a joke, I would not be an
assault if the victim is adequately frightened. This can be related to Logdon v DPP [1976] Crim LR

The Controversy of Deforestation Essay
The Controversy of Deforestation
Environmental issues affect every life on this planet from the smallest parasite to the human race.
There are many resources that humans and animal needs to survive; some of the most obvious
resources come from the forests. Forests make up a large percentage of the globe. The forests have
global implications not just on life but on the quality of it. Trees improve the quality of the air that
species breath, determine rainfall and replenish the atmosphere. The wood from the forests are used
everyday form many useful resources. Moreover, thinning the forests increases the amount of
available light, nutrients and water for the remaining trees. Deforestation (forest thinning) is one of the
most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To begin, forest based industrialization is based on forest resources that are used to stimulate
economic growth and development. One of the products that have been most important to human
economies has always been wood. Wood is durable, light weight, easily worked, waterproof, and a
good fiber source. Wood is used in almost every aspect of our lives, for building materials, living, and
just surviving. We need wood to build our homes to live in and buildings in which we work and spend
the other resource that comes from trees money . Studies show that 70% of the products that we use a
day are made of some kind of wood. If we were to look around our homes and count all the items that
are made of wood we would probably find that 60 percent are made of wood. Without wood humans
and other species would never be able to survive.
Another pro argument of deforestation is the issue of fuel wood in rural areas. The use of fuel wood in
the growing cities contrasts strictly with the more familiar patterns of rural areas. The growth of
energy used in rural household still dominates the energy budgets of many developing countries,
especially in the poorer countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Nigeria. Most fuel wood is
used in the household. The concept of an energy transition, however, is central to any understanding
energy in urban areas. As

The Bible Study Of Melchizedek In The Bible

Bible Study
Melchizedek
GENESIS 14:18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of
God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said: Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of
heaven and earth; 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.
And he gave him a tithe of all. (NKJV)
Melchizedek is a priest and king of Salem mentioned three times in the Old Testament and once in the
New testament. He is first mentioned in the book of Genesis in the fourteenth chapter (See above). He
is said to have met Abraham after a battle victory. He blessed Abraham while feeding his men who
were famished after the battle. In turn Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of his belongings. In
Biblical times this was a gesture showing high religious status. This is significant because
Melchizedek s name means king of righteousness. The next time Melchizedek is mentioned in the
Bible is in one of David s writings in Psalms. It is obvious in Psalm 110 that David held a strong
respect for Melchizedek. He is portrayed as a Christ figure due to his extreme righteousness. In the
book of Matthew, Melchizedek s priesthood is even put in a category of its own. This is used in a way
as a metaphor to represent Jesus new reign and how it is different from anything that had ever been
seen. Hebrews 6:20 states that [Jesus] has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Purpose Of Selecting A Program
The purpose of selecting this program is to deepen my studies in sustainability in detailed. Nowadays,
sustainability is a topic which research is still maturing, and designs are relatively new. The intent of
this study emphasises in ruralisation of current urban cities by creating an environment that would
allow the residents to benefit from its geographical and urban function stressing the creation of one
system. Cities in the US and around the world have developed significantly that much of the land has
transformed into Metro areas. In addition to 3 million people or greater living in these cities, people
have exhausted their options and had no alternative but to rely on high rise architecture. Many
architects and landscape architects, focus their careers trying to create sustainable cities but are still
limited by the maximum space they can utilise. Others emphasise the incorporation of biophilic
mediums to solve the problem, then again, these are very restricted to the site. As land in some
countries are finite and are reaching their maximum capacities, this will potentially become a problem
that must be solved. As innovative developments in these cities cease, buildings are stacked, rooms
miniaturised, and even expand to restricting areas to accommodate as many people as possible.
Families of four or more members settle in places where room sizes parallel those of an individual

actress. Angelina is one of the best Hollywood actress. For example, Angelina Jolie won the Oscar are

In summary, it cannot be said that exact cause of most severe traffic accidents are known with
certainty but it is believed that speeding and drinking, jointly or separately, play some role in the
events that lead up to those accidents. Also to blame, in many instances, are the design of the highway,
the condition of the weather, the maintenance of the vehicle, the time of the day (many severe
accidents occur at dusk, with poor lighting and tired drivers), and the presence of radar detectors. A
study by the Ohio State Police found that radar detectors were present in at least one of the vehicles
involved in 69% of all severe traffic accidents on the highways of that state in 2005. Studies in other
states have confirmed that finding, with some estimates of the relationship running as high as 75%.
The use of radar detectors is illegal in many if not most states, but neither the manufacturing nor the
marketing of the units has ever been banned by the federal government which, of course, is the sole
authority which could regulate their interstate trade. The U.S. constitution forbids any state from
restricting imports from any other state. Currently, therefore, there often occur an unusual situation in
which the use if the radar detector sets may be illegal within a given state, but the sale of those sets is
not illegal and cannot be prohibited within that state.
The manufacture and marketing of radar detectors was expanding industry,

The Ignorance Of Truth In The Matrix
The Matrix is a film about a simulated reality in which humans are programmed to a neural interactive
simulation. The film is very similar to the bible due to the way that it has used symbolism to present
situations and scenes. The Gospel of John and some scriptures from the bible were taken to compare
to the film to show similarity and relevance. There are themes in which the Bible and the Matrix have
in common and these are ; evil is living in the ignorance of truth, resurrection and the truth. The first
theme that will be discussed in evil is living in the ignorance of truth and this shows similarity to the
Genesis 3 story when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. The second theme is the truth and this

The Matrix had a scene, in which Neo fought Agent Smith to defeat the darkness and release the
human race from the simulated reality. Neo was shot not only once, but multiple times and repeatedly.
He fell and was shot even more. Neo was dead for 72 seconds which can be interpreted as 72 hours
which is equivalent to 3 days. He was brought back by love, which was Trinity and her kiss. As Trinity
leaned forward, This is the kiss of life she whispered. The kiss of life can be interpreted as the breath
of life . When Neo returned, he was more powerful than ever. Managing to defeat Agent Smith and his
posse, by dodging their bullets and powerful blows. Jesus however did not die to to come back even
more powerful, he died for people s sins, and was resurrected because of the power of God s love. Neo
proved that death can be overcome and by achieving this, he has managed to open up a possibility in
which everybody is able to recognise death and evil. When this is done, they will realise that death and
evil is not as powerful as love due to it being a stronger force. In the Bible, it talked about how a

Summary Of Jude s The Of Jude
JOURNAL OF JUDE
BY: ROSECEL M. RENDON 1. EPISTLE S AUTHORSHIP
Jude was the brother of Jesus and he wrote this epistle after he became a believer in Jesus Christ. We
need to remember as it is written, Jude and James, both brothers of Jesus, did not believe that He was
the Messiah, the son of God. But after His resurrection everything changed and now he called himself
a brother of James and a servant of Jesus Christ which shows the humility of Jude and the
unimportance for him to be the half brother of Jesus in human terms but most important to believe in
Him as our savior and king. To Jude, the blood of the cross was more important than the family blood.
2. DATE OF WRITING
The Epistle of Jude is closely related to 2 Peter, and the date of writing depends on whether Jude
borrowed from 2 Peter or 2 Peter borrowed from Jude. It is believed it was written somewhere
between the years 60 to 80 A.D.
3. PURPOSE AND OCCASION OF WRITING: Jude had to deal with the dangers of false doctrines
sneaking in the church. There were godless men, false teachers who were living sinful lives and
misrepresenting the grace of God, they denied the Lordship of Jesus Christ and began teaching
doctrines of self righteousness and a false freedom they represented. This brought Jude, led by the
Holy Spirit, to deal strongly with these men, false teachers. In his epistle, he perfectly describes the
character, deception, lies, and modus operandi of these men and contrast it with the character of a true

appreciate if you can incorporate 15 to 30 minutes into the orientation presentation about what
financial tools and services the university has to offer. We might not want to disseminate too much

to bring these resources to our student s attention, informing them about upcoming events for money

Racial Disparities And Discrimination In Boyz In The Hood
Discrimination has created racial disparities and segregation; as a result, many neighborhoods that
have been labeled as the hood have primarily black residents. Unfortunately, children born into these
neighborhoods suffer a predisposition to violence, drugs, and gang affiliation due to patterns of
violence and the lack of adequate resources. The movie Boyz in the Hood portrays the struggles
experienced by young black men as they grow up in the ghetto of Los Angeles. This movie accurately
depicts the patterns of violence and crime, lack of adequate resources, and government corruption
found within many poor, segregated neighborhoods.
A battlefield of violence and crime exists among segregated neighborhoods, especially for young
black men. According to the movie, 1 out of every 21 black American males will be murdered in their
lifetime. Within these neighborhoods, people are consumed by poverty and hatred which results in an
ongoing cycle of violence among the members of the community. Even young children are exposed to
violence and crime, and many of them participate in criminal behavior. In the beginning of the movie,
a group of ten year old children were walking through their neighborhood and witnessed an area
where a man was shot. One of the boys said I m not afraid to get shot, both my brothers are shot and
they still alive . According to an article by Zimmerman Messner (2013) urban youths have a 50% to

Symptoms And Treatment Of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Essay
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as ALS or sometimes called Lou Gehrig s Disease, is a
progressive neurological disease affecting the nerves that control voluntary muscle movement. It is the
most common type of motor neuron disease. The body isn t able to operate as it normally does due to
the muscles weakening overtime. As the disease progresses, it starts to damage nerves of other vital
areas of the body. When the body isn t able to breath the way it should causing respiratory failure and
other things start to go wrong, the body has no choice, but to shut down and die. (ALS Association)
Lou Gehrig s disease came into public awareness from a famous New York Yankees baseball player
who was forced to retire after developing the disease and died two years later. It was originally
discovered in 1869 by a French neurologist named Jean Martin Charcot. He was the first man to be
able to connect motor neurons in the spinal cord to the ALS disease. (Medical News Today)
The name Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is derived from Greek origin. Amyotrophic broken down
with A meaning no, myo referring to muscles, and trophic meaning nourishment. The three roots equal
the meaning of no muscle nourishment . When muscles lose their nourishment, they are not able to
stay strong and can withhold their shape. Lateral being the spinal cord and its position to the body and

allows designers and developers to go from flat screen to exact part. Nowadays almost everything
from aerospace components to toys are getting built with the help of desktop fabricators. desktop
fabricating is also used for jewelry and art, architecture, fashion design, art, architecture and interior
design. For more personal printing, recreational item for hobbyists are made. Things like missing
board game pieces, plastic cups, other home essentials, and cool collectibles impossible to build
conventionally like asymmetrical tops. Most domestic desktop fabricators are priced from 250$ 2000$

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Ppaca)
I. Overview
The purpose of this paper is to present a brief overview and timeline of the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) that was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23,
2010 and to discuss its potential impact on healthcare access, costs and quality, and insurance
companies. .
II. Healthcare Reform Timeline
The PPACA includes comprehensive reforms that will take place over the next four years. It is
intended to hold insurance companies more accountable, protect consumers, lower health care costs,
increase the quality of care and provide more health care choices and improved access for all
Americans. Some of the major provisions and their effective dates are outlined in the following
sections.
A. 2010 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
B. Improving Quality and Lowering Costs
The payment incentives provided to healthcare providers under the PPACA will most likely lead to
improved healthcare quality. In addition, reimbursement will shift from being based on quantity to
being value based which will in turn incentivize providers to provide higher quality care.
Although the Congressional Budget Office reported that the PPACA will reduce the U.S. budget
deficit, it is doubtful and remains to be seen what will actually happen. Also, it is anticipated that
businesses will pay the fines imposed by the PPACA because it will be cheaper than obtaining
insurance coverage for the employees.
C. Holding Insurance Companies Accountable
A major pro of the PPACA is that it establishes several new rules and controls for insurance
companies including requiring that they cannot deny coverage for pre existing conditions, must spend
a certain percentage of premiums collected on actual patient care costs. These new rules provide
protection for consumers and ensure insurance companies are held accountable for the care and
services provided to patients that are enrolled in their plans.
Another major issue that has raised considerable debate and even led to law suits being filed is the
constitutionality of the PPACA. Those who oppose healthcare reform argue that it is unconstitutional
for Congress to require that every person purchase health insurance. However, the PPACA improves
access to healthcare which

The Teachings Of Phaedrus And Alcibiades
Phaedrus, an aristocrat, takes the stage first at the symposium. He explains that Erōs is one of the
primordial gods, and that the love between a boy and a lover is the greatest love that exists. The lover
is meant to guide the boy, and the two must lead each other to examine themselves and feel ashamed.
...[The boy] is especially ashamed before his lover when he is caught in something shameful (Sym.
178E). Phaedrus later adds that ...Love is...the most powerful in helping men gain virtue and
blessedness... (Sym. 180B). Alcibiades is the perfect example of shame when he speaks about

intelligence of a man, which Alcibiades feels toward Socrates. Eryximachus, a doctor, builds on

protected (Sym. 187D). Alcibiades encourages his own Heavenly Love for Socrates by praising
Socrates himself. He devotes his entire speech to the philosopher s image. There is not much else to
compare between Eryximachus and Alcibiades because Eryximachus simply adds to what Pausanias
has already stated. Aristophanes is a playwright who s eager to take a different approach to the origins
of erōs. He says that humans were once great beings with four arms, four legs, two faces and two sets
of sexual organs. There were male, female and androgynous beings, which were both male and
female. They became prideful and planned to ascend to the heavens and attack the gods. The gods
couldn t kill the humans because then no one would worship them. Zeus instead opts to cut the human
beings in two and asks Apollo to smooth out their edges. This decision created unforeseen
consequences. ...Each [human] longed for its own other half, and so they would throw themselves

Explain The Roles And Differences Between Consumer And...
1. Differentiate between mechanized, semi automated, automated, and information directed handling
systems. The mechanized type handling system, is a combination through labor and equipment
handling that utilizes the help from facilities processing, receiving, and shipping. Although a high
percentage of overall cost is associated with this type of labor system. Also, with having to use a high
amount of human labor workers, there is more use of forklifts and carousels. Where when using an
automated system, there would be a cut in labor costs due to the use of automated equipment that can
accomplish the job that man power is being used to accomplish. A lot of these costs can be pretty
expensive up front, but in the long run they end up paying themselves off. When a mix of both are
used though, it s called semi automated. Which can in turn help increase efficiency. But at the same
time, using completely automated systems can help reduce in any forms of error in sorting processes.
Within semi automated systems, there is the final form of information directed handling. This system
uses information technology to help direct mechanized or any automated equipment. 2. Explain the
roles and differences between consumer and industrial focused packaging. The roles and differences
between consumer and industrial focused packaging are pretty up to point. The consumer packaging is

Examples Of Individualism In Rhinoceros
It is heard among society that character, personality, and individuality make each person special and
unique in their own way; however, in the play Rhinoceros a lot of characters end up losing their sense
of personality and fall under a form of fascism known as Nazism. This is a huge problem because this
is what caused the Holocaust. Berenger, is a character who does not fall into this trap and remains as
the last standing human. In doing so, he shows traits of independence. Nazism and individualism are
the two most important aspects of this story due to the relative similarities and the strong survival
skills that Berenger represents. Nazism is the ultimate evil that led to the extermination and
endangerment of the Jewish people. Ionesco wrote the story to compare the similarities between how
the rhinoceros attempt to exterminate humans while the Nazis attempted to exterminate the Jewish

allowed innocent lives to be killed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for humans when he declares I m not capitulating at the ending scene of the story (Ionesco 107). This
scene can be seen as Berenger showing stubbornness, but if anything; this shows that he is truly his
own person who will not waver no matter the circumstance. Hence, this makes him special and shows
why he is the only human

Introduction
I specifically remember the day that I changed my college major from pre pharmacy to secondary
education. I remember telling my friends and family of my new plans. I received many wishes and
also many laughs. When I explain to people that I am an education major, I often get this reply, Today
s generation of children can t be controlled and I would never be a teacher . This may be true, but as
the ecological classroom management models show us that there are ways to create effective
management in the classroom while keeping students engaged and interested.
In today s society, there is a need for increased discipline in the classroom. Having discipline in the
classroom and using it appropriately is like having a tool box in your shed. You have all sorts of tools
in your tool box, but you must know when, where, and how to use each tool in order for it to be
effective. A teacher must use appropriate strategies when responding to student behavior.
Ecological classroom management supports the idea of improving academics while also improving
behavior. Ecological approaches to classroom management also believe that teachers have a powerful
influence on the students and their learning environment. In order to successfully manage a classroom,
the teacher must understand what happens in various segments and they must also understand the
actions that they will need to take in order to secure the cooperation of their students. Ecological
models build on the idea of

It is caused by rotavirus, which after infecting the lining of the intestines, triggers severe diarrhoea in young children.2 However, with the development of vaccines, the threat of disease by rotavirus has been significantly reduced. This lack of difference indicates that improvements in hygiene do not reduce the transmissibility of the virus.12 However, the development of vaccines has greatly decreased the threat of disease caused by rotavirus. Two oral vaccines, RotaTeq and Rotarix, have been implemented to safely control rotavirus infections.13 Both of these vaccinations are classified as live attenuated vaccines, meaning that it contains a weakened version of the living microbe, making it unable to cause disease.14 Studies have shown that RotaTeq and Rotarix provide effective protection against rotavirus and it is now recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) to include the rotavirus vaccine in the national immunisation programs of all countries.15 While these vaccines have produced effective protection against the most common strains of rotavirus, effectiveness on uncommon strains is still ... A dream, by definition, is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person s mind during sleep. Therefore, the quality of a person s sleep must somehow affect their dreaming patterns. There are 5 stages of sleep that a person passes through each night, supposing that the person actually goes to sleep. Stage 1 of sleep is very light and lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes. Brain activity lowers to around 50% or more. This slowly leads us into a deeper sleep and it is not uncommon to experience myoclonic jerks and hypnagogic imagery while thus stage progresses. However when setting up an infrastructure or changing an existing infrastructure there are a number of things a company should conceder in order to end up with the infrastructure that best works for them and their company. Business infrastructures usually consist of booth LAN and WAN area networks. Businesses will use a LAN to connect network devices over a short distance, such as an office building or school. There for a company can benefit from using a WAN network when they have offices in different cities, states, or countries. It is important for a business to understand how they plan on using LAN and WAN networks when designing an infrastructure that will work best for them. A business infrastructure is generally made up of the processes, procedures, and systems within a company. And if a company is to maintain a competitive edge and stay a step or two ahead of its competitors, it will need to have and maintain a solid infrastructure. When a company has a solid infrastructure they are more likely to see an ongoing improvement with the efficiency of their employees (Hughes Kaplan, 2009). This is because a solid infrastructure allows employees to better communicate and work more effectively. In order for a company to create or build an infrastructure that will work best for them, there are a few things in which they should address. One thing they should do is to consult with outside resources and customers as well as employees in order to determine what type of infrastructure will best address their company s needs. In the publication submitted by Copernicus, he established a model of the universe that depicted the Sun and not the Earth at the center of the universe. He described the Earth revolving around the sun which was in contrast to earlier thinking that suggested the sun revolved around the Earth (heliocentric theory). This revelation of thought started a change in the way the world was viewed. Maybe the Earth was not the center of everything and maybe there was more out there that could be learned in order to scientifically understand the world (Scientific revolution). Johannes Kepler followed in the footsteps of Copernicus. He too believed that the sun was the center of the universe. Kepler was a religious man and did not want to speak against his religious beliefs. He therefore took a different approach. He studied the heavens in order to better understand how God put the planets in motion around the sun. He is best known for his formulation of the Laws of planetary Motion. One of the products that have been most important to human economies has always been wood. Wood is durable, light weight, easily worked, waterproof, and a good fiber source. We need wood to build our homes to live in and buildings in which we work and spend the other resource that comes from trees money . He is first mentioned in the book of Genesis in the fourteenth chapter (See above). He is said to have met Abraham after a battle victory. He blessed Abraham while feeding his men who were famished after the battle. In turn Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of his belongings. In Biblical times this was a gesture showing high religious status. This is significant because Melchizedek s name means king of righteousness. The next time Melchizedek is mentioned in the Bible is in one of David s writings in Psalms. It is obvious in Psalm 110 that David held a strong respect for Melchizedek. • 24. Summary Of Jude s The Of Jude JOURNAL OF JUDE BY: ROSECEL M. RENDON 1. EPISTLE S AUTHORSHIP Jude was the brother of Jesus and he wrote this epistle after he became a believer in Jesus Christ. We need to remember as it is written, Jude and James, both brothers of Jesus, did not believe that He was the Messiah, the son of God. But after His resurrection everything changed and now he called himself a brother of James and a servant of Jesus Christ which shows the humility of Jude and the unimportance for him to be the half brother of Jesus in human terms but most important to believe in Him as our savior and king. To Jude, the blood of the cross was more important than the family blood. 2. DATE OF WRITING The Epistle of Jude is closely related to 2 Peter, and the date of writing depends on whether Jude borrowed from 2 Peter or 2 Peter borrowed from Jude. It is believed it was written somewhere between the years 60 to 80 A.D. 3. PURPOSE AND OCCASION OF WRITING: Jude had to deal with the dangers of false doctrines sneaking in the church. There were godless men, false teachers who were living sinful lives and misrepresenting the grace of God, they denied the Lordship of Jesus Christ and began teaching doctrines of self righteousness and a false freedom they represented. This brought Jude, led by the Holy Spirit, to deal strongly with these men, false teachers. In his epistle, he perfectly describes the character, deception, lies, and modus operandi of these men and contrast it with the character of a true ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Improving Quality and Lowering Costs The payment incentives provided to healthcare providers under the PPACA will most likely lead to improved healthcare quality. In addition, reimbursement will shift from being based on quantity to being value based which will in turn incentivize providers to provide higher quality care. Although the Congressional Budget Office reported that the PPACA will reduce the U.S. budget deficit, it is doubtful and remains to be seen what will actually happen. Also, it is anticipated that businesses will pay the fines imposed by the PPACA because it will be cheaper than obtaining insurance coverage for the employees. C. Holding Insurance Companies Accountable A major pro of the PPACA is that it establishes several new rules and controls for insurance companies including requiring that they cannot deny coverage for pre existing conditions, must spend a certain percentage of premiums collected on actual patient care costs. These new rules provide protection for consumers and ensure insurance companies are held accountable for the care and services provided to patients that are enrolled in their plans.
