The X Men is a science fiction action movie that tells the story of humans born with extraordinary
abilities, called mutants, and the conflict they encounter fitting in with ordinary humans. The story
describes shifting power dynamics between the two groups, as the mutant population is growing,
which results in certain factions of humans attempting to enforce stricter controls and regulations over

The Year of Living Biblically, he spent a year following the Bible literally. I was a little nervous about
this one because I was afraid he was doing this to try to show how silly the Bible is and poke fun of
Christians. That was fortunately not the case. The thing about A.J. that I like is that he just seems to
like learning, so he enjoyed the experience of learning more about the Bible and religion in general
rather than trying to promote a cause. It was also interesting that one of the reasons he wanted to
pursue this topic was because of his son. He didn t want to raise his son to be without religion, without
a moral compass. I find it odd that he doesn t want his son to be an agnostic even though he s one. A.J.
is also a secular Jew, so that added to the interesting aspects of the book to see him digging into his

discrimination. Women s rights was a big thing back then. Women started entering higher professions
and becoming doctors and lawyers. They fought to protect women and children. They also raised

The first wave of psychological therapy focused on the clinical application of behavior principles. The
second wave introduced cognition into therapy and linked the idea of irrational thoughts to behavioral
issues (Hayes, Follette, Linehan, 2004). The third wave is the most current theory which focuses on
traditional cognitive behavioral concepts with the addition of mindfulness techniques and the
acceptance of thoughts (Hayes, Masuda, Bissett, Luoma, Guererro, 2004). This third wave of
cognitive behavioral therapies includes such methods as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT;
Hayes, Strosahl, Wilson, 1999), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT; Linehan, Armstrong, Suarez,
Allmon, Heard, 1991), mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT; Segal, Williams, Teasdale,
2002), and mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR; Kabat Zinn, 1994). These various techniques
differ from traditional therapeutic methods in that they focus on accepting problematic thoughts and
emotions for what they are rather than trying to change the thoughts and emotions (Greco Hayes,

have had with minorities and of largely neglecting their needs. Our almost hostile nature towards
minorities in the United States can largely be seen in the treatment of Mexicans and Mexican
American citizens in the times surrounding World War Two. Such hostilities are reflected in our
treatment of Mexican Americans in the late 19th after the Civil War and early 20th centuries, the
Sleepy Lagoon murder responses, and the Zoot Suit riots. My primary source reveals a feeling of
inferiority in the United States by the Mexican American youth due discrimination that they faced,
which can be better understood by analyzing the cultural contexts. As railroads expanded during the
United States western expansionist period in the late 19th century, Mexican immigration along with
Eastern migration grew in the west. Once the Mexican immigrants arrived, they largely occupied
commercial agriculture in large farms, mining industries, and the construction of railroads, but were
generally paid very little. During this time, as Arizona State History Professor Manuel P. Servín
explained, the Mexican Americans that had been here for years had already begun to feel despised by
