For this week, I feel I have not done much advancement as I would have liked. The good thing is
that I am done with my initials interviews. I got help from my sister and we went to the
Washington DC Mall to pick random Americans. It was not easy. We had more rejections than
collaborations. Each time was more frustrating, but we got enough for such section. On the
following day we went to GMU campus for the same goal and we had three more participations.
I end up placing only 5 participants on the rough cut, because only that took 47 seconds. I may

I could not figure it out how to use iMovie to make the sound stereo. Luckily on tonight s class
the video technician helped me by confirming that we cannot do that in iMovie yet, but gave me
an interesting suggestion on separating the audio as one single line, this of course once the
video is ready, and then transmitted to another single file to copy one more time as separate line
on the same video. We tried once with him and it looks like it will work. Second Problem was
the narrative sound. After the introduction interviews, the narrative voice volume drops
tremendously to a really low volume. I need to record this audio also with a mike so I can have
the same quality and volume range as the video portions. Other than those minor issues, I am
scheduling my scholarly interviews for next week and also over the weekend I am meeting with
my artist friend who would help me with the animations. I really need to start working on images.

Helen Keller, who was born on June 27th, 1880 and died June 1st, 1968, was one of the most
important people of her time. She accomplished so much in fields such as literature and politics.
The fact that she was able to do so much with her life is impressive not only in the fact that she
was a woman, but more impressive due to the fact that she became blind and deaf at only
eighteen months old. Through the help of Anne Sullivan though, Keller, was able to learn so
much. This short story, The Day Language Came into My Life, is an excerpt from her
autobiography, where she recalls her memories from when she first learned about language. In
her story, Keller, uses a unique metaphor to describe what it was like going from no language to
having a language. She does this by comparing herself to a boat in a dense fog with no compass or
sounding line, who was just lost at sea in a tangible darkness, and then the light came into her
