Storage Strategies For The Enterprise Storage Environment...
Along with the computer appears, storage strategy becomes one of the most important features for
data storing and data sharing based on computer infrastructure. Enterprises prefer faster
performance, lower costs for the storage solutions, especially with a high security protection. Cost,
performance, data backup, data recovery, data sharing, security issues are all popular topics for the
enterprise storage strategies when they meet their storage issues. How can enterprise make a
reasonable decision to meet their real requirements and business need based on their budget? How
can enterprise know which is the best solution for their business strategies? How can enterprise

The Impact of Enterprise Storage Strategies
Introduction
When a business started, the related data has been generated. Along with the development of the
business, the data becomes larger and accumulates day by day. The accumulated data can be
transferred to meaningful information for the managers decision makings. Storing and protecting
the data is essential to the development of the enterprise business. Today, almost all enterprises use
computer storage to store their data instead of the hard copy papers. In the past, hard copy
papers stored the data for the enterprise, but it existed too many potential risks, such as data loss,
data stolen, data destroy, or cannot sharing with others. In 1990s, more companies started to use
computer hard drive to store their business data; this change impacted the later development of
the storage strategies. Along with the technology development and the data becomes bigger and
bigger, big data problems appear. How can enterprise store such large data and manage such large
data effectively? Currently there are several classic storage strategies to help enterprise solve their
data storage problems, such as spinning media, flash, and cloud. The enterprise also can select
onsite or offsite option as their considerations based on their business environment. Security issues
are popular discussion topics as well in this paper.

Influences From F. Scott Fitzgerald s Life Found in...
Fitzgerald began working on Tender is the Night during the late 1920s but found it difficult as his
wife Zelda s mental illnesses and their money issues had affected him. When Zelda had her first
nervous breakdown in 1930s they were living in Europe and she was hospitalized in Switzerland.
It became certain that she would never recover fully. Fitzgerald s father died in 1931, which can be
seen in the novelportrayed as Dick s father s death. Combined with his insistent alcoholism, these
misfortunes and setbacks overwhelmed him. Fitzgerald had settled in suburban Baltimore by
1932, and had finally settled on what his novel was going to be about. The books plot was about
a gifted young psychiatrist called Dick Diver. He marries one of his patients, Nicole Warren.
Dick had virtually limitless potential and when he decides to decision to marry a woman he
falls in love with who is mentally ill, he eventually descends into depression and alcoholism as
their disaster prone relationship fails. The book went through many versions and took a lot of
time; the original story was to be about matricide, the act of killing ones Mother. Such a
laboured birth of his fourth novel had never been the writer s original intention (Blazek, 1). The
book can be described as a thinly veiled somewhat autobiographical novel due how similar the
story s main plot is to Fitzgerald s own life. It is echoing Fitzgerald s difficulties with his wife
Zelda. It also depicts the damaging effects of having

Adoption by Same-Sex Couples Essay example
Adoption by Same Sex Couples
19th Annual Robyn Rafferty Mathias Conference
I. Introduction
In recent years, there has been an increase in same sex couples applying to adopt children at both
infancy and from the foster care system. Although society s perception of a family normally
consists of a mother and father, the times are changing. According to the United States 2000
Census, this societal perception of a normal family, referred to as the nuclear family , only
represents less than 24%, of households in the U.S. The notion of the nuclear family is ever
changing in today s society, and with this change must come a more open view of who can adopt
children. It is clear that there are several issues regarding gay and ... Show more content on

By allowing same sex couples to adopt, children who would normally linger and age out of the
foster care system can be put into permanent and loving homes.
II. Parenting Capabilities of Same Sex Couples One of the main reasons that some individuals
feel that same sex couples should be banned from adopting children is due to the belief that they
are incapable. There are various amounts of scientific research compiled by the American Civil
Liberties Union that shows that the parenting practices of same sex couples are just as good as
those of heterosexual couples. The ACLU released a document entitled Too High a Price: The
Case Against Restricting Gay Parenting. In this document there is a detailed overview of the
scientific research done in this field. This research focuses on the psychological, emotional, social,
and cognitive developments of children raised by same sex couples, the quality of parenting of
these couples, and the sexual and gender development of the child or children in their home. In
looking at these key factors, researchers were better able to make comparisons between same sex
couples and heterosexual couples. These studies used various groups of people including single
lesbian mothers, gay fathers, heterosexual couples, and heterosexual single parents. In order to
conduct the studies, researchers used psychological tactics, which included both interviews and
intensive examinations of both the parents and children.

Attractive Returns For The Vc
Attractive Returns for the VC
In return for financing one to two years of a company s start up, venture capitalists expect a ten
times return of capital over five years. Combined with the preferred position, this is very high cost
capital: a loan with a 58% annual compound interest rate that cannot be prepaid. But that rate is
necessary to deliver average fund returns above 20%. Funds are structured to guarantee partners a
comfortable income while they work to generate those returns. The venture capital partners agree to
return all of the investors capital before sharing in the upside. However, the fund typically pays
for the investors annual operating budget 2% to 3% of the pool s total capital which they take as
a management fee regardless of the fund s results. If there is a $100 million pool and four or
five partners, for example, the partners are essentially assured salaries of $200,000 to $400,000
plus operating expenses for seven to ten years. (If the fund fails, of course, the group will be
unable to raise funds in the future.) Compare those figures with Tommy Davis and Arthur Rock s
first fund, which was $5 million but had a total management fee of only $75,000 a year.
The real upside lies in the appreciation of the portfolio. The investors get 70% to 80%of the gains;
the venture capitalists get the remaining 20% to 30%. The amount of money any partner receives
beyond salary is a function of the total growth of the portfolio s value and the amount of money

Determination In The Marble Champ By Gary Soto
Determination is all over but most don t reach for it. In The Marble Champ by Gary Soto the
protagonist Lupe is an extremely intelligent girl who is severely un athletic. The story is about
her quest for athletic glory. She ends up trying marbles and becoming a champ. Lupe is
determined. This is shown in the reasons that she practices constantly, she is determined to win,
and that she is determined to be good at a sport. My first reason, that she practices constantly is
supported by the author when he states she decided to do 20 pushups on her finger tips Lupe is
not athletic at all yet she is doing 20 push ups this is a very difficult thing to do even if you have
some athletic talent let alone none. Another piece of evidence that supports this reason is when
Lupe squeezed an eraser one hundred times and when her dad rigged lights in the backyard so she
could practice after dark. The author wrote that her thumb was so sore the next day that she could
not practice and those lights let her practice long into the night giving up valuable sleep to practice.

many would do that. Mabey a smile or a fist pump but not a scream. This shows she was excited
to win this. And she just flat out says that she was not nervous at all about this marbles game most

The Effects Of Mass Media And Communication On The Society
Media Message
Introduction
Behavioral sciences play a central role in figuring out the likely effect of mass media and
communication in the society. Different theories and approaches are used to figure this out. This
study refers to the Uses and Gratifications, and Cultivation theories to consider the effect of the
media article below on individuals. The uses and gratification theory argues that consumers of a
given media uses this media to satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. On the other hand,
cultivation theory holds that heavy exposure to a certain media can cause an individual to have an
illusory perception of the life reality based on the most consistent and repetitive message that is
given in this media (Fourie, 2011).

Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles
Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the
modpoint of the opposite side, we have:
в– (t=2/3в€™в€
љ3/2в€™c=c/в€
љ3;@u=2/3в€™в€
љ3/2в€™b=b/в€
љ3.)
And in this case (1) becomes (2):
гЂ–3sгЂ—^2=b^2+c^2 2в€™bв€™cв€™cos(A+60В°).
Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60В°)=cos(A)/2 (в€
љ3в€™sin(A))/2.
Substituting (3) into (2) yields to (4):
гЂ–3sгЂ—^2=b^2+c^2 bв€™cв€™cos(A)+в€
љ3в€™bв€™cв€™sin(A).
Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A).
And recall (6):
2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A).
Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7):
3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2в€™в€
љ3в€™S_∆ABC
As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is
equilateral:
IH=GH=GI=s=в€
љ((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2в€™в€
љ3в€™S_∆ABC )/в€
љ3=в€
љ((a^2+b^2+c^2)
/6+(2в€™S_∆ABC)/в€
љ3).
The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved.
Answer: Proved.
Rotating by the point:
Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120В°, and superimpose the
rotated copy on the original figure.
Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to
itself). Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively.
Because of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE.
Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular
GH=GG.HH.
Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. Triangles ∆ABD, ∆ACF and ∆A.EE.BB
are equilateral.
The angles of triangles sum to 180В° and

Rousseau s Theory Of The General Will
In Rousseau s Social Contract, he presents the doctrine of the general will, which has two distinct
strands. The first strand states that the general will comprises of the will of the assembled people, if
certain conditions are met; the second strand says that the general will is always right and always
tends to the public utility. This inconsistent definition has brought confusion upon what the general
willactually is, and brings to question whether or not these two parts can be reconciled to form
one concrete definition. Since Rousseau s explanation is paradoxical, the point of this essay is
to clarify what the connection between these two aspects, reason why they cannot be put
together and determine that the first aspect is the more important one for Rousseau s view. In
this paper, I will explain what the general will is by explaining the two strands, evaluate them,
and then I will end this paper with the conclusion that these two aspects cannot be put together,
and that the first definition is the more important one. The two aspects cannot be reconciled, as
they represent different things the first represents where the general will comes from, and the
second is more of a representation of what the general will would be in ideal circumstances, yet
the first one is the primary aspect, as it expresses the collective decision made by the people.
Rousseau s first strand of the general will is described as the will of the assembled people, which
means that it is the

Athens more well rounded, yet equally worthy of honor, system of education. To begin with, it is
important to consider the context in which Pericles is delivering this funeral oration. Honoring the
fallen Athenian heroes in the Peloponnesian War, Pericles refers to our rivals as Sparta, which,
along with its allies, retaliated against Athensin this military confrontation. In the excerpt, Pericles

Cause And Effects Of Tsunami In Japan
In March of 2011, a magnitude 9 earthquake hit Japan, releasing a dangerous tsunami. Japan was not
expecting the magnitude of the earthquake and tsunami, and endured much hardship after the
disaster. The effects of the tsunami can still be seen in Japan today through its residents, economy,
and through actions that have been taken to further protect residents from future disasters. Though
the Japan 2011 tsunamiis one of the most destructive tsunamis ever recorded, dangerous tsunamis
continue to take place across the globe. The Japan 2011 tsunami not only affected the inhabitants of
Japan, but also affected people around the world. After disasters such as this, each area must endure
the aftermath of the disaster and recover from the effects.
A tsunami is a series of huge waves occurring when there is a major disturbance on the ocean
floor. Tsunamis often occur due to earthquakes, volcanoes, or landslides (Park 16). Underwater
earthquakes may produce waves that travel in all different directions. Some tsunamis lose power
and die out under water, others may produce large waves as they approach land. Tsunamis may
look like an onrushing tidal wave as they approach land, but do not occur because of tides (Park
6). Their walls of water can move across the open ocean at speeds of up to 560 miles per hour.
When the waves hit the coast, they can reach up to 100 feet (Park 5). The tsunami in Japan is

determined very early in the project life cycle. BAE had the technology that was needed
(destination coded vehicles moving at high speed) but implementing this technology into such a
complex project would have required much more time then was available. Going against their
better judgment, BAE presented the city of Denver with a proposal to develop the most intricate
automated baggage system ever built. The plan was to be very effective in delivering baggage
quickly, reliable in its operation, and extremely flexible. This type of system would save ground
time, decrease close out time for hub operations, and reduce time in sorting and handling baggage.
Although more expensive than an uncomplicated tug and baggage cart system,

ADHD, Ritalin, Families, and Pharmaceutical Companies Essay
ADHD, Ritalin, Families, and Pharmaceutical Companies In today s fast paced society, it seems
that prescription drugs are a more reasonable and reliable solution for children and adults than
diet and exercise for the disease known as ADHD. Rather than take the time to play with their
children, or institute a proper diet, it seems that increasing numbers of parents would rather treat
their children s unexplained zest for life with pills and doctors. While there are some explanations
and reasons for the diagnosis of this popular disease, most children are improperly diagnosed, and
are therefore taking unneeded medication. This medication is costly and it can be argued those who

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (2004) signs of ADHD become noticeable
in children during their preschool and early years of school. It is estimated that 3 to 5 percent of
children have ADHD, which is roughly about 2 million children in the United States. This
means that 1 child out of a classroom that has 25 30 students in it will have ADHD. The NIMH
(2004) has stated this in their article on ADHD that Dr. Heinrich Hoffman first described it in
1845. He was a physician who wrote books on medicine and psychiatry, he also wrote books for
children. He described the disease in a book he was writing to his son, he wrote The Story of
Fidgety Phillip which described a little boy with the exact symptoms of what would be known
today as ADHD. It was not until 1902 that Sir George F. Still published a lecture to the Royal
College of Physicians in London about impulsive children with behavioral problems that he stated
were caused by a genetic dysfunction and not by poor education. Since then many studies have
been done on the cause, symptoms, and treatment of ADHD. There is no real evidence of what
causes ADHD. There have been many theories and hypothesis on the subject but no real concrete
evidence of what causes the disease or how to prevent it. According to WebMDHealth (2004)

The Politics of Massachusetts throughout the Ages Essay
The Politics of Massachusetts
The Constitution Drafted in 1779, the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the
oldest functioning written constitution in the world. Drafted by none other than John and Samuel
Adams, along with John Bowdoin, it served as a model for our own nation s Constitution. It
features a structure, composed of chapters, sections and articles, vastly more organized than any
other state constitution of its time. Within this document, rights of the citizens, and the framework
of the states government is outlined. While it has changed over the years, it manages to paint a
picture of the inner workings of Massachusetts politics. Some remarkable features in Massachusetts

Outlining the powers of the President of the institution to improve education, as well as calling
attention to the importance of literature. These key features would lead to Massachusetts
becoming one of the forefronts of education in the world. The executive branch, as outlined in
the Constitution, is composed of a Governor, a Lt. Governor, as well as numerous councilors
from amongst the state. The governor is the only person allowed to suspend the laws, and must
review every bill and law before it is passed. He, or she, is the Commander in Chief of the militia,
and appoints all judicial officers. However, these powers are limited, as the legislative body may
supersede the power of the governor with a 2/3 majority vote in both houses. Furthermore, the
other members of the Executive branch are elected separately, unlike many of the governors of
the country, the Lieutenant Governor, as well as the councilors, Secretary, Treasurer, and
Commissary, are elected into office, and keep the governor in check. This limits the power of the
governor greatly, primarily only allowing the governor to recommend budget plans, and guide the
General Court in his own direction. The governor may reduce items or parts of items in bills
appropriating money, with reason provided, but is mostly at the mercy of the councilors. The
legislature of the Commonwealth, is bicameral, much like our Congress, it is composed of a
Senate and a House of Representatives. The Senate, made up of 40

How Does Pink Floyd Represent Money
Pink Floyd s song Money explains the deeper and darker side of money and how it can be used for
temptations, lust and, greed. The first line of the song says Money get away, I perceive this as a
way of saying money was doing evil things to David Gilmour (or the song writer) and needed to be
pushed away from money. Obviously Pink Floydwas not pushed to far away from money because
this album sold 34 million copies, but that s beside the point. Regardless song makes you believe

Community Gardens Essay
Cities all around the United States are creating community gardens to help make improvements to
problems in their area such as: high crime, hunger, and urban blight. A community garden is a
piece of property, private or public land, gardened by a group of people. The property will produce
fruits, vegetables, etc. These gardens can be found in neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, assisted
living and apartment building complexes. Communitygardens are also being placed in unused
vacant lots to help reduce the amount of garbage and wasted space in cities. People do not know

In many cities, there are countless amounts of people who go without food at least once a month.
Many of these people are even children, elderly people, or disabled. Limited household incomes
limit access to fresh produce, which is a key diet component. Having limited food can eventually
lead to malnutrition. Creating community gardens can help make an impact by producing more
food. These gardens will give access to people who could have never had healthy food. Store
prices make it extremely difficult to eat healthy when the prices are so high. These gardens will
promote healthy and wise choices. This too will encourage relationships within their
communities. Without friendships with their neighbors, it will lead to seclusion and loss of
appetite or bad food choices. When children see their elders participating in these gardens, it will
give them an interest in it. Once they start participating in growing their own food, they will be
more likely to eat the food they grow and begin to develop healthy food habits. This will create a
chain reaction in these apartment buildings and living communities. After an abundance of food is
produced, people can distribute it to surrounding areas that may be struggling with hunger. With
one apartment building or school creating a garden, people all over one city could help make a

Gynaecology is a special medical area which is more prominent in the developed countries and they
have gone further in marketing such services especially in the private sector. However in most
less developed countries like Zimbabwe marketing of such services is almost rare, despite the
growing importance of gynaecological services. Firstly this is due to the fact that most medical
practitioners believe there is no marketing in the health service sector. According to Etzel et al
(1997), sellers in many industries such as health think of themselves only as producers or creators
not as marketers. Also some of these service firms believe such marketing can only be done only
by large companies operating in developed countries.
This is however not really true according to the American Marketers Association definition of
marketing. It regards marketing as A process of planning and executing the conception,

Did you know there are many kinds of programs and approaches used in early childhood
education? The 20th century was the start of inclusive classrooms and about the idea of education

Maria Montessori has an educational method that is in use today in public and private schools

Introduction to montessori, 2011).
Rudolf Steiner developed the Waldorf education. This is the view in which the child develops
through a number of basic stages as he/ she grows from childhood to adulthood. Waldorf
education strives to develop in each child their innate talents and abilities through the use of
curriculum which develops imagination and creativity ( Early child care, 2010). In the United
States there are more than 160 schools across the continent, 250 early childhood centers. Within
all these centers the approach to learning in early childhood is through imitation, imagination and
example. The basic goals of Waldorf education are to build free, equal, and collaborative society. To
develop free human beings who have a purpose and a direction in life as well as to achieve a
balanced development of mind, body, and spirit.

Using Simulators For Advance Clinical Research
Using Simulators to Advance Clinical Research
Sheila E. Brooks
Stanbridge College
ABSTRACT Throughout history numerous reports of abuse in clinical trials have surfaced. These
reports shed light not only of emotional abuse but the physical abuse as well. As we will see, some
of the abuse continues today. This abuse has led to public mistrust and scrutiny even to this day.
Clinical research participants are hesitant to enroll in clinical research trails for fear of being
misled or mistreated. Clinical researcher nurses are in the unique position to ensure not only
patient safety but to elicit public trust. However, clinical research nurses do not have formal
educational tools to develop important skills such as critical thinking, communication, or clinical
skills which are necessary to ensure patient safety, to reduce clinical mistakes, and to increase
patient trust. One way to develop such skills is through the use of simulation. Throughout history
simulators have been used in a variety of fields such as the military and aviation. Medical schools
have used simulation to practice skills as well. To date, little research has been done in the use of
simulators in clinical research programs for nurses. The purpose of this paper is address how
simulators can improve critical thinking in research nurses through the use of nursing theory, health
promotion, and community resources. We will

in yellow remained the same, students in red lost points from pre to post test. The two students with
an asterisk are the interviewed students.

Although, Z. D. s score went down from the pre test to the post test, his work showed that his
mathematical understanding increased due to the lesson. He only lost points on providing his
answers in simplest form, meaning he needs practice on reducing fractions. I chose D.W. because

Differences Between Domesticated And Wild Animals
There are notable differences between domesticated and wild animals. They are more obvious
when compared between different breeds of the same species. For most domesticated species, the
variations within an organism are usually descended from a single wild species. Variation arises
from natural selection, and refers to variation both within and between species. Darwin did not
believe that all domesticated species arises from a common wild ancestor, however, modern
genetics disproves this.
Research shows that all domesticated dogs arise from their wild ancestor, the wolves. Similar
trends are found in other domesticated animals like cats, horses, cows, and birds. Specifically, I will
be analyzing the trends in domestication of fowl and poultry. Fowl includes two orders of birds:
landfowl (chicken, quail, pheasant) and waterfowl (duck, goose, swan). Fowl typically refers to
wild birds. Poultry indicates birds that are domesticated and raised for meat or eggs. By analyzing
the behavior, evolution species variation, and domestication of birds, we can determine the traits
selected for different species. Through domestication, many breeds of birds have evolved with
alterations that could be seen as adaptations to the environment.
Behavior of Wild Fowl It is widely known that the domestication of an organism involves numerous
changes: genetically, physically, socially, mentally. An interesting occurrence to note is reduction in
brain size from wild to domestic animals. As

Summer Break Argumentative Essay
This question has been asked many times with school board officials let s look at the facts,
Summer break started because the children of poor farmers would miss school in order to help
their families harvest they would miss many days of school and wouldn t be able to learn as
much as the children whose families were wealthy. They eventually decided to shorten the
calendar so that no one could miss school. Here in the 21 st century no one needs to miss school,
nowadays a small amount of people have families that own farms but the children don t have to
miss school to work on them! Summer break is now a fun break, but do kids really need it? I
believe they don t there are enough missed school days from three day weekends to spring break
there really is no point to have the school calendar shortened anymore. So should we keep Summer?

benefits from this decision affect teachers, parents, and the students themselves.Making the school

However, we are all individuals with individual personalities, and as such, we must remember that
children will develop in different ways and at different rates from each other. Below I will portray
the age related development in infants and children both socially and emotionally.
The following bullet points outline the stages of social development in children:
Infants (1 month):
Even newborn infants show social behaviours. They love to be touched, held, smiled at and cooed

expressions, and may even try to mimic adults facial gestures. Because their facial muscles are fully
developed at birth, they can make many expressions Newborns can smile slightly, knit their brows,
or appear to pout or cry, and if you give them something that tastes awful, they look disgusted (4).
Infants (3 months): At three months of age, infants will spend their time watching what is going on
around them. They will show their first real smile, perhaps accompanying it with some gurgling in
an attempt to start interacting with others, especially parents/guardians. Infants (4 months): At

Social Media Into Traditional Marketing And Advertising...
Abstract
Effective marketing and advertising strategy is a necessity in order to have successful saturation in
the market. There are numerous marketing strategies at the disposal of companies to use, including,
but not limited to social media. Trends in social media have grown exponentially over the past few
years and many companies nowadays are utilizing this marketing strategy to their advantage. This
paper will focus on leading edge trends in integrating social media into traditional marketing and
advertising campaigns. I will also discuss recommendations for incorporating social media into the
market segments of Mini Laps that we are targeting, as well as how I will measure the results of

It is very important to choose a marketing strategy that will reach your target market. An
appropriate example of this would be if Microsoft is trying to market their Xbox One; they
would not want to advertise in Cosmopolitan magazine. It s apparent that the target market for
video games and video game consoles is probably not those women (and maybe some men) who
read Cosmopolitan magazine. A more suitable choice for Microsoft would be PC World or even
Sports Illustrated. However, it should be noted that not every product in this world is that simple
to formulate a marketing strategy for. There are quite a few marketing outlets and strategies at a
company s disposal nowadays, including magazines, social media, TV, radio, and newspapers. Up
until recent, companies made the most use of television, newspapers, and magazines. However,
huge advancements and innovations in technology have opened up new doors when it comes to a
brand new marketing strategy: social media. This has become the newest and most popular
method of marketing strategy that companies nowadays are employing to fully comprehend their
target markets. Social media offers a very large space to exploit for the purposes of market
saturation and brand awareness. Most people actively use some type of social media whether that
is Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or Instagram. According to Hoffman and Fodor, this is a world in

According to Manohla Dargis (2010) His enormous commercial success with a mainly black

some of us have been told as a youth that we have two strikes against us. We are women, and we

A white male may not be able to understand this, believe this, or even care for that matter.

U.S. government ( Black Elk ). The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 guaranteed land to the Great
Sioux Nation. This was cut down to create the present day Pine Ridge Reservation (Martinez).
Black Elk seemed disgusted by the behavior of the United States government. Black Elk had
lived through the government s unlawful slaughter of Chief Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull. He
had seen the Battle of Little Bighorn where an attempt was made to forcibly take their sacred
land. Black Elk had witnessed the massacre of men, women, and children at the Battle of
Wounded Knee. Black Elk went as far to say that I did not know then how much was ended....I
can see that something else died there in the bloody mud, and was buried in the blizzard. A
people s dream died there. It was a beautiful dream. Black Elk experienced the true injustices done
by the government, and lived long enough to see their negative impact ( Black Elk ).

Deck Training Plan
It may sound obvious, but when building a garden patio deck, one should always plan the decking
out on paper first before so much as even picking up a saw!
There is however a solution to this sometimes complicated planning stage.
A good quality timber decking kit will provide you with all the timber, deck boards, joists and
fixings needed to create a high quality, durable and elegant decking area, in far less time, and with
far less planning.
Of course, there are some aspects of the project which will need planning out whether you use a kit
or not. The first thing to consider is location: Would you like your decking to create an environment
which is sunny, shady, or somewhere between? Do you want the deck to lie next to your home, or...

Also be aware of any pipes or drainage systems which sit beneath the surface of your proposed
decking area especially if you are to installing a raised decking area which will use sunken timber
posts for supports. Lastly, an obvious point but one which is often overlooked: never obstruct
access to any manhole covers or to any other system which you may need to be able to access once
the deck is completed.
Joist Timber Framework Preparation
The timber joist framework is effectively the base on which your garden patio is built. The timber
joists included in your kit will almost certainly be cut to length but be sure to check before you
begin screwing or fixing the timber joists together.
The timber deck joists are laid in line, parallel to each other, and at no greater than 60cm intervals.
With timber deck boards usually 120mm wide, you also need to allow 5 6mm between each deck
board to allow for shrinkage in summer, and swelling in winter. (Remember: deckboards, joists, and
other components are all constructed from a natural, living material)

Queen Gertrude Is Responsible For Ophelia s Death
In Hamlet, William Shakespeare leaves many mysteries for the audience to decipher on their own.
One such, is the mystery surrounding Ophelia s death. Harmonie Loberg, in the article, Queen
Gertrude: Monarch, Mother, Murderer, argues that, Queen Gertrude is responsible for Ophelia s
death (60). The Queen s description of Ophelia s death is controversial because it is so full of
detail, that many believe it must be an eye witness account. Did the Queen kill Ophelia to try and
protect Hamlet? The last scene seems to answer this question, as the Queen shares in the same fate
that befalls all of the other murderers in the play. Ophelia s death is suspicious and should not be
thought of as a suicide, but instead a calculated murder by an overly... Show more content on

When people get an idea in their heads that their leaders are corrupt it can lead to governments
being overthrown. These songs, and the idea that they put into the heads of the people, are
enough to give the Queen a motive to get rid of Ophelia, and her rambling on about the death of
her father and the return of her brother only add to the fire (4.5 29 33, 71). What may keep her
from killing Ophelia at this point is the knowledge that the King has sent Hamlet to England,
where she believes he is safe. The Queen knows Laertes is on his way home and if Hamlet were
to return now, there would be trouble. When Laertes returns he incites a riot, seeking revenge
for his father s murder, he goes after the King. When he finally gains admission to the King he is
very angry and the Queen has to hold him back (4.5. ). Loberg says this is when the Queen
switches from a woman who handles her problems through words, to a woman who starts to
become physical to protect what she views as hers (66). The King and Queen manage to convince
Laertes that the King is not responsible for Polonius s death, but they do not tell Laertes who is
responsible, or at least that is what the Queen

Osteoarthritis is the most common rheumatic disease, primarily affects the articular cartilage and

disability in walking, stair climbing and housekeeping.
Currently, no cure for osteoarthritis is known. However, disease related factors, such as impaired

High quality evidence suggests that land based therapeutic exercise provides benefit in terms of
reduced knee pain and improved quality of life and moderate quality evidence of improved physical
function among people with knee osteosteoarthritis.
It can be assured that any type of exercise programme that is performed regularly and is closely
monitored can improve pain, physical function and quality of life related to knee osteoarthritis in
the short term.
The magnitude of immediate treatment effects of exercise on pain and physical function increases
with the number of face to face contact occasions with the healthcare professional.

Dingo Case Study Essay
1) What is the role of the sun in the food web? The sun plays a very important role in the food
web of the Australian grasslands as all energy that occurs in the food web is taken from the Sun
(Arlington Classics Academy, 2015). However, the Sun does not directly provide the energy the
food web. The energy must be transferred to the producers in the web in order for it to be useful
(Arlington Classics Academy, 2015). This energy is again transferred throughout the web until
it eventually reaches the top level carnivores. Due to this change and transfer of the Sun s
energy it s evident that without the sun the food web would not be able to exist. 2) What will
happen to the population of eagles if the dingoes are trapped and killed? The Wedge Tailed Eagle
and the Dingo share a similar diet according to the food web as both prey on young mammals and
marsupials. In this case the removal of the dingo from the food web would increase the numbers of
its prey and would therefore increase the amount of food available for the Wedge Tailed Eagle.

best new practice would be implemented within several steps throughout the workplace, and
each workplace is different and has their own set of steps. I would look at the policies and

This is important because all nurses want to give the best care they can. Campaigners have
launched a website to increase the support for patient nurse ratios to be mandated due to the
amount of patient loads that some nurses are taking, and they are decreasing patients care within
the process (Campaigners, 2013). Having an increase in staff with a higher number of patients can
help increase the patient s safety within the care that they are receiving. The more patients that
nurses have, the less care that those patients will receive at a given time, because the nurses can
become burnt out on the amount of care that they must provide, within a limited amount of time.
According to Hill (2017), there are many nurse shortages, which leads to decreased patient care
and decreased good outcomes when it involves patient care. Having an increased staff helps
prevent unfavorable outcomes when it comes to patient care. Less patients per nurse ratio lead to

A Modern Adaptation Of Homer s Odyssey Essay
A modern adaptation of Homer s Odyssey one of the most widely read ancient literary works in
the world Margaret Atwood s novella, The Penelopiad, retells this classic story, this time from the
perspective of Penelope, Odysseus wife, who spent ten long years waiting faithfully for him to
return form the Trojan war, and is now lameting her life from the greek underworld, Hades. The
Penelopiaddeconstructs the portrayal of penelope in the Odyssey, showing that instead of waiting
and wasting away, she instead employed her wits, feminine charm and strength of character to
build a strong empire and achieve her own ends, or at least, that s what she would like us to
believe. Chapter 26 is a courtroom scene, where Odysseusis on trial for the hanging of the 12
maids, which he justifies by convincing the judge of their supposed indescretions. Atwood employs
various literary devices, such as the exploitation of genre and dark humour, to convey the double
standard between genders, the failures of the justice system, and the lack of consequences awarded
to those in power.
One of the most obvious themes in this chapter is how much the justice system failed the maids,
who were, in essence, innocent. Having been raped by the suitors, the fact that they were put to
death for not asking Odysseus permission to sleep with them is ludicrous, as the very definition
of rape relies on a lack of permission. The choice of setting and style for this chapter is ironic, as,

The love a mother shares for her child is unexpectedly powerful, and although Grendel s mother
may be weaker and smaller in size compared to Beowulf, she has he own advantages, as she is
fighting in her own cave which was under the lake. She put up a fight under her mother s fury,
and her spike and heath of revenge as she realizes that it was Beowulf that killed her son,
although Beowulf defeated her with the help of his weapons and his skills from being a warrior.
Grendel s mom was the first fight of revenge within the poem, and it served as a warning to
mankind, that everyone must not fight based purely on revenge, and it will not end in favor of the
city. It therefore, proves that that holding on to someone or something for long periods of time,
could eventually destroy oneself mentally or physically. It is interesting to that the revenge of
Grendel s mother almost was a example to take not, that revenge doesn t solve our problems, this
seems to be mentioned again at the end of the poem by Wiglaf.
Another example of revenge seen in the poem Beowulf is the Germanic tribe. With this example, it
is unique in the sense that the Germanic tribe was used in hopes of peace in Garland. Hrothgar was
hoping to make peace by having his daughter marry into the Hathobards. Although upon, Beowulf

Hester Street Film Analysis
Dealing with the theme of assimilation, Hester Street, set in 1896 was a depiction of the immigrant
Jewish community living in the Lower East Side of New York City. Throughout the film, we see
the challenges the Jewish immigrant characters endure when their Old World traditions, practices,
and ideas were juxtaposed with the New World, American values. Thus, Hester Street highly
endorses the characters acceptance with assimilating to American values. Furthermore, the film also
showcases the resistance and complications to assimilationas some characters try to maintain their
culture.

Volkswagen dirties it s hands in emissions scandal
A car is spewing deadly carbon dioxide, forty times more than the car next to you. Piling onto many
recent scandals in Europe, Germany s Volkswagen has cheated emissions tests. The scandal has
sparked enormous stifle across the world and turmoil in the company. The Volkswagencompany
started when Adolf Hitler gave the order to have the small middle class car to be produced. VW
produced the Beetle in the 1930s to much of Germany s population. After the end of the third
Reich, Volkswagen spread and became a large job creator in Germany as well as an international
brand (Morning Edition). Volkswagen prioritization of the European market, led them to bet their
future on green tech chips and diesel engines. This is in contrary to the moves of many other car
makers, who are pursuing electric cars in the American market. The American market thought of
diesel engines as secondary and insignificant (Ziegler). The Environmental Protection Agency s
Tier ii emissions standards had high bars for diesel emissions that would be extremely difficult to
reach. There was a heavy burden for Volkswagen s engineers to create a quantum leap in the diesel
engine in terms of emissions and fuel economy. To cut these emissions Volkswagen would need to
use an effective but bulky and expensive system in its cars. However cheating the emissions tests
would be fairly easy due to the lack of

Animals Killing Animals
Humans are destructive. They don t realize the impact they re making in the world until it
becomes a problem. Everyone, everyday destroys someone s life. In fact, they destroy a life of
an animal or plant that is now endangered. If we continue killing animals at a rate of 100 million
a year, then our the generations after us won t be able witness the beauty we experienced.
Currently, there is an act to stop this behavior, but why do poachers still kill animals? Why do
people use slash and burn agriculture? Why do we have an act if it is not stopping people from
doing this? I believe poachers shouldn t be able to kill animals for money, people shouldn t use be
able to Slash and Burn Agriculture, and the Endangered Species Actneeds to be reformed. Wildlife
trade has become a threat faced by animals around the world all because of poachers. Poaching
by definition is the illegal hunt of game or fish that is not on one s land. Often times with
poaching of endangered animals, it results in illegal wildlife trade. An example would be of
poachers killing elephants for ivory and tigers for their skins and bones. Poachers have decided the
best thing for them to do is to harm innocent animals just for money. This should be ended, because
they are taking things way too far. We are consuming wildlife for fashion, medicine, souvenirs, and
trophy hunting, says an observer. This means poachers are being assigned by people to kill animals
for clothes or medicine. As a result, I can not

  • 3. Influences From F. Scott Fitzgerald s Life Found in... Fitzgerald began working on Tender is the Night during the late 1920s but found it difficult as his wife Zelda s mental illnesses and their money issues had affected him. When Zelda had her first nervous breakdown in 1930s they were living in Europe and she was hospitalized in Switzerland. It became certain that she would never recover fully. Fitzgerald s father died in 1931, which can be seen in the novelportrayed as Dick s father s death. Combined with his insistent alcoholism, these misfortunes and setbacks overwhelmed him. Fitzgerald had settled in suburban Baltimore by 1932, and had finally settled on what his novel was going to be about. The books plot was about a gifted young psychiatrist called Dick Diver. He marries one of his patients, Nicole Warren. Dick had virtually limitless potential and when he decides to decision to marry a woman he falls in love with who is mentally ill, he eventually descends into depression and alcoholism as their disaster prone relationship fails. The book went through many versions and took a lot of time; the original story was to be about matricide, the act of killing ones Mother. Such a laboured birth of his fourth novel had never been the writer s original intention (Blazek, 1). The book can be described as a thinly veiled somewhat autobiographical novel due how similar the story s main plot is to Fitzgerald s own life. It is echoing Fitzgerald s difficulties with his wife Zelda. It also depicts the damaging effects of having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Adoption by Same-Sex Couples Essay example Adoption by Same Sex Couples 19th Annual Robyn Rafferty Mathias Conference I. Introduction In recent years, there has been an increase in same sex couples applying to adopt children at both infancy and from the foster care system. Although society s perception of a family normally consists of a mother and father, the times are changing. According to the United States 2000 Census, this societal perception of a normal family, referred to as the nuclear family , only represents less than 24%, of households in the U.S. The notion of the nuclear family is ever changing in today s society, and with this change must come a more open view of who can adopt children. By allowing same sex couples to adopt, children who would normally linger and age out of the foster care system can be put into permanent and loving homes. II. Parenting Capabilities of Same Sex Couples One of the main reasons that some individuals feel that same sex couples should be banned from adopting children is due to the belief that they are incapable. There are various amounts of scientific research compiled by the American Civil Liberties Union that shows that the parenting practices of same sex couples are just as good as those of heterosexual couples. The ACLU released a document entitled Too High a Price: The Case Against Restricting Gay Parenting. In this document there is a detailed overview of the scientific research done in this field. This research focuses on the psychological, emotional, social, and cognitive developments of children raised by same sex couples, the quality of parenting of these couples, and the sexual and gender development of the child or children in their home. In looking at these key factors, researchers were better able to make comparisons between same sex couples and heterosexual couples. These studies used various groups of people including single lesbian mothers, gay fathers, heterosexual couples, and heterosexual single parents. In order to conduct the studies, researchers used psychological tactics, which included both interviews and intensive examinations of both the parents and children. ... • 5. Attractive Returns For The Vc Attractive Returns for the VC In return for financing one to two years of a company s start up, venture capitalists expect a ten times return of capital over five years. Combined with the preferred position, this is very high cost capital: a loan with a 58% annual compound interest rate that cannot be prepaid. But that rate is necessary to deliver average fund returns above 20%. Funds are structured to guarantee partners a comfortable income while they work to generate those returns. The venture capital partners agree to return all of the investors capital before sharing in the upside. However, the fund typically pays for the investors annual operating budget 2% to 3% of the pool s total capital which they take as a management fee regardless of the fund s results. If there is a $100 million pool and four or five partners, for example, the partners are essentially assured salaries of $200,000 to $400,000 plus operating expenses for seven to ten years. (If the fund fails, of course, the group will be unable to raise funds in the future.) Compare those figures with Tommy Davis and Arthur Rock s first fund, which was $5 million but had a total management fee of only $75,000 a year. The real upside lies in the appreciation of the portfolio. The investors get 70% to 80%of the gains; the venture capitalists get the remaining 20% to 30%. The amount of money any partner receives beyond salary is a function of the total growth of the portfolio s value and the amount of money managed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Determination In The Marble Champ By Gary Soto Determination is all over but most don t reach for it. In The Marble Champ by Gary Soto the protagonist Lupe is an extremely intelligent girl who is severely un athletic. The story is about her quest for athletic glory. She ends up trying marbles and becoming a champ. Lupe is determined. This is shown in the reasons that she practices constantly, she is determined to win, and that she is determined to be good at a sport. My first reason, that she practices constantly is supported by the author when he states she decided to do 20 pushups on her finger tips Lupe is not athletic at all yet she is doing 20 push ups this is a very difficult thing to do even if you have some athletic talent let alone none. Another piece of evidence that supports this reason is when Lupe squeezed an eraser one hundred times and when her dad rigged lights in the backyard so she could practice after dark. The author wrote that her thumb was so sore the next day that she could not practice and those lights let her practice long into the night giving up valuable sleep to practice. • 9. The Effects Of Mass Media And Communication On The Society Media Message Introduction Behavioral sciences play a central role in figuring out the likely effect of mass media and communication in the society. Different theories and approaches are used to figure this out. This study refers to the Uses and Gratifications, and Cultivation theories to consider the effect of the media article below on individuals. The uses and gratification theory argues that consumers of a given media uses this media to satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. On the other hand, cultivation theory holds that heavy exposure to a certain media can cause an individual to have an illusory perception of the life reality based on the most consistent and repetitive message that is given in this media (Fourie, 2011). • 10. Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the modpoint of the opposite side, we have: в– (t=2/3в€™в€ љ3/2в€™c=c/в€ љ3;@u=2/3в€™в€ љ3/2в€™b=b/в€ љ3.) And in this case (1) becomes (2): гЂ–3sгЂ—^2=b^2+c^2 2в€™bв€™cв€™cos(A+60В°). Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60В°)=cos(A)/2 (в€ љ3в€™sin(A))/2. Substituting (3) into (2) yields to (4): гЂ–3sгЂ—^2=b^2+c^2 bв€™cв€™cos(A)+в€ љ3в€™bв€™cв€™sin(A). Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2в€™bв€™cв€™cos(A). And recall (6): 2в€™S_∆ABC=bв€™cв€™sin(A). Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7): 3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2в€™в€ љ3в€™S_∆ABC As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is equilateral: IH=GH=GI=s=в€ љ((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2в€™в€ љ3в€™S_∆ABC )/в€ љ3=в€ љ((a^2+b^2+c^2) /6+(2в€™S_∆ABC)/в€ љ3). The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved. Answer: Proved. Rotating by the point: Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120В°, and superimpose the rotated copy on the original figure. Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself). In particular GH=GG.HH. Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. • 12. Rousseau s Theory Of The General Will In Rousseau s Social Contract, he presents the doctrine of the general will, which has two distinct strands. The first strand states that the general will comprises of the will of the assembled people, if certain conditions are met; the second strand says that the general will is always right and always tends to the public utility. This inconsistent definition has brought confusion upon what the general willactually is, and brings to question whether or not these two parts can be reconciled to form one concrete definition. Since Rousseau s explanation is paradoxical, the point of this essay is to clarify what the connection between these two aspects, reason why they cannot be put together and determine that the first aspect is the more important one for Rousseau s view. In this paper, I will explain what the general will is by explaining the two strands, evaluate them, and then I will end this paper with the conclusion that these two aspects cannot be put together, and that the first definition is the more important one. The two aspects cannot be reconciled, as they represent different things the first represents where the general will comes from, and the second is more of a representation of what the general will would be in ideal circumstances, yet the first one is the primary aspect, as it expresses the collective decision made by the people. Initially BAE declined to bid on the project due to one main reason; the technology required to operate a system of such a large size and complexity should be determined very early in the project life cycle. BAE had the technology that was needed (destination coded vehicles moving at high speed) but implementing this technology into such a complex project would have required much more time then was available. Clinical research participants are hesitant to enroll in clinical research trails for fear of being misled or mistreated. They are more obvious when compared between different breeds of the same species. For most domesticated species, the variations within an organism are usually descended from a single wild species. Variation arises from natural selection, and refers to variation both within and between species. Darwin did not believe that all domesticated species arises from a common wild ancestor, however, modern genetics disproves this. Research shows that all domesticated dogs arise from their wild ancestor, the wolves. Similar trends are found in other domesticated animals like cats, horses, cows, and birds. Specifically, I will be analyzing the trends in domestication of fowl and poultry. Fowl includes two orders of birds: landfowl (chicken, quail, pheasant) and waterfowl (duck, goose, swan). Fowl typically refers to wild birds. Poultry indicates birds that are domesticated and raised for meat or eggs. By analyzing the behavior, evolution species variation, and domestication of birds, we can determine the traits selected for different species. Through domestication, many breeds of birds have evolved with alterations that could be seen as adaptations to the environment. Behavior of Wild Fowl It is widely known that the domestication of an organism involves numerous changes: genetically, physically, socially, mentally. Below I will portray the age related development in infants and children both socially and emotionally. They love to be touched, held, smiled at and cooed to. At as young an age as one month old, infants can be seen to experiment with their faces and expressions, and may even try to mimic adults facial gestures. Because their facial muscles are fully developed at birth, they can make many expressions Newborns can smile slightly, knit their brows, or appear to pout or cry, and if you give them something that tastes awful, they look disgusted (4). A more suitable choice for Microsoft would be PC World or even Sports Illustrated. There are quite a few marketing outlets and strategies at a company s disposal nowadays, including magazines, social media, TV, radio, and newspapers. The sun plays a very important role in the food web of the Australian grasslands as all energy that occurs in the food web is taken from the Sun (Arlington Classics Academy, 2015). However, the Sun does not directly provide the energy the food web. The energy must be transferred to the producers in the web in order for it to be useful (Arlington Classics Academy, 2015). A Modern Adaptation Of Homer s Odyssey Essay A modern adaptation of Homer s Odyssey one of the most widely read ancient literary works in the world Margaret Atwood s novella, The Penelopiad, retells this classic story, this time from the perspective of Penelope, Odysseus wife, who spent ten long years waiting faithfully for him to return form the Trojan war, and is now lameting her life from the greek underworld, Hades. The Penelopiaddeconstructs the portrayal of penelope in the Odyssey, showing that instead of waiting and wasting away, she instead employed her wits, feminine charm and strength of character to build a strong empire and achieve her own ends, or at least, that s what she would like us to believe. Chapter 26 is a courtroom scene, where Odysseusis on trial for the hanging of the 12 maids, which he justifies by convincing the judge of their supposed indescretions. Atwood employs various literary devices, such as the exploitation of genre and dark humour, to convey the double standard between genders, the failures of the justice system, and the lack of consequences awarded to those in power. One of the most obvious themes in this chapter is how much the justice system failed the maids, who were, in essence, innocent. Having been raped by the suitors, the fact that they were put to death for not asking Odysseus permission to sleep with them is ludicrous, as the very definition of rape relies on a lack of permission. Grendel s mom was the first fight of revenge within the poem, and it served as a warning to mankind, that everyone must not fight based purely on revenge, and it will not end in favor of the city. It therefore, proves that that holding on to someone or something for long periods of time, could eventually destroy oneself mentally or physically. It is interesting to that the revenge of Grendel s mother almost was a example to take not, that revenge doesn t solve our problems, this seems to be mentioned again at the end of the poem by Wiglaf. Another example of revenge seen in the poem Beowulf is the Germanic tribe. With this example, it is unique in the sense that the Germanic tribe was used in hopes of peace in Garland. Hrothgar was hoping to make peace by having his daughter marry into the Hathobards. Although upon, Beowulf return, he saw that this plan had its flaws and was unsure of the success of the plan. Hester Street Film Analysis Dealing with the theme of assimilation, Hester Street, set in 1896 was a depiction of the immigrant Jewish community living in the Lower East Side of New York City. Throughout the film, we see the challenges the Jewish immigrant characters endure when their Old World traditions, practices, and ideas were juxtaposed with the New World, American values. Thus, Hester Street highly endorses the characters acceptance with assimilating to American values. Furthermore, the film also showcases the resistance and complications to assimilationas some characters try to maintain their culture. The boss emphasizes to Bernstein that while he was once a peddler in the old country he now was the boss, while he was just a working man. America...some country, the boss declares. The boss represented how he made it in America by assimilating and not being a yeshiva scholar. The boss abandoned his traditional old world practices and respect for traditional Jews in order to move upward in America into a high position of power. Thus, the boss represents the need for Jewish immigrants to assimilate in order to achieve greater wealth opportunities in America. Assimilation was a complex and a resistant concept to gravel for some Jewish immigrants. This was the case for Jake s wife Gitl. When Jake goes to Ellis Island to pick up his wife, Gitl and son Yossele, he seems to be disgusted to see his old world wife and son. He has adapted to American customs and views his wife s physical appearance as being backward. Jake states to his wife, In America, you don t wear wigs...kerchiefs. This challenges Gitl s traditional values. She wanted to maintain her cultural identity of the old world. She states, I can t go around in my own hair like a gentile. Volkswagen Dirties It s Hands Nikhil Kanamarla Mrs. Benzing English 1 Period E May 1st, 2016 Volkswagen dirties it s hands in emissions scandal A car is spewing deadly carbon dioxide, forty times more than the car next to you. Piling onto many recent scandals in Europe, Germany s Volkswagen has cheated emissions tests. The scandal has sparked enormous stifle across the world and turmoil in the company. The Volkswagencompany started when Adolf Hitler gave the order to have the small middle class car to be produced. VW produced the Beetle in the 1930s to much of Germany s population. After the end of the third Reich, Volkswagen spread and became a large job creator in Germany as well as an international brand (Morning Edition). Volkswagen prioritization of the European market, led them to bet their future on green tech chips and diesel engines. This is in contrary to the moves of many other car makers, who are pursuing electric cars in the American market. The American market thought of diesel engines as secondary and insignificant (Ziegler). The Environmental Protection Agency s Tier ii emissions standards had high bars for diesel emissions that would be extremely difficult to reach. There was a heavy burden for Volkswagen s engineers to create a quantum leap in the diesel engine in terms of emissions and fuel economy. To cut these emissions Volkswagen would need to use an effective but bulky and expensive system in its cars. However cheating the emissions tests would be fairly easy due to the lack of ... In fact, they destroy a life of an animal or plant that is now endangered. If we continue killing animals at a rate of 100 million a year, then our the generations after us won t be able witness the beauty we experienced. Currently, there is an act to stop this behavior, but why do poachers still kill animals? Why do people use slash and burn agriculture? Why do we have an act if it is not stopping people from doing this? I believe poachers shouldn t be able to kill animals for money, people shouldn t use be able to Slash and Burn Agriculture, and the Endangered Species Actneeds to be reformed. Wildlife trade has become a threat faced by animals around the world all because of poachers. Poaching by definition is the illegal hunt of game or fish that is not on one s land. Often times with poaching of endangered animals, it results in illegal wildlife trade. An example would be of poachers killing elephants for ivory and tigers for their skins and bones. Poachers have decided the best thing for them to do is to harm innocent animals just for money. This should be ended, because they are taking things way too far. We are consuming wildlife for fashion, medicine, souvenirs, and trophy hunting, says an observer. This means poachers are being assigned by people to kill animals for clothes or medicine. As a result, I can not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
