Smudge Tool

The smudge tool is effective when removing blemishes or blending one
object into another. Here I will be removing a blemish using the smudge tool.
The smudge tool is set to 30 px, which is large enough for the area I shall be
covering. Over-use of the smudge tool can result in a flattened image.

2. 1. I selected the
smudge tool
from the left
toolbar. I had
to press and
hold to open
the drop-down
menu where
this tool could
be selected.
2. This is the original blemish.
The harsh red colour is too
distracting for the image.
3. I hovered over the area with the smudge
tool selected, and whilst holding down the
left mouse button, gently moved the brush
from left to right and in a circular motion.
This removed the blemish, 'blending' the
colours.
