2. Having never used lights before, I first decided to use a twopoint lighting set up. This illuminates the subject from both
sides, reducing any shadows on the face. Whilst this created
background shadows, the plain background allows me to
easily edit these out in post-production using Photoshop.

3. As my model was wearing glasses, after doing a quick review of the
photos taken during the photo shoot, I noticed that in some shots her
glasses were causing the light to be reflected, creating a lens flare. To
avoid this, I turned one of the lights off, hence only lighting the subject
from one side. This created more artistic shadows on the models face,
adding depth to the image, which could be translated into her
personality. Most importantly however, the glare on her glasses
disappeared, proving to be a more appropriate lighting set up.
