Silver has many daily uses including in wound dressings, medical devices, soaps and sanitizers, and children's toys. It is believed to stimulate energy flow, help concentration, support bone and skin health, and kill germs. Historically, silver was used in utensils and food storage due to its antimicrobial properties. Prolonged silver exposure can cause irreversible skin or eye discoloration due to silver accumulation. Other health effects are possible in respiratory, metabolic and tissue systems.
