This document presents a project proposal for a self-powered doorbell watcher circuit from HITEC University in Taxila, Pakistan. The circuit uses a rectifier and capacitor to store a charge from the doorbell's AC voltage when pressed. Later, pressing a button will discharge the capacitor through an LED or piezo sounder to indicate the doorbell was rung. The circuit can provide a minimum of 15 days of memory and can be adapted to monitor appliances powered by 115V or 230V mains by adding resistors and a capacitor for voltage regulation. Precautions are outlined for safety when working with mains voltage.
