Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

St. Paul’s Catholic College 64770 Candidate Name: Roshan Anton John Candidate Number: Unit G321: Foundation Portfolio in Media Studies Schedule Week Beginning Work Completed Summer Holidays Monday 9th September First lesson we got introduced to the course work on what we should do also we got introduced to the log book and evaluation on the course work and we just went through on what to do throughout the course work and other work that has to be done. Monday 16th September We started doing the preliminary task for the front cover of our school magazine as our teacher gave us some templates to use for our magazine to help us out. Monday 23rd September On this day we started on the front cover and I added some colour to the background of the magazine to get me started off and also I was looking for some masthead for my magazine in different websites and then I just decided to use one of the fonts on Photoshop.

Monday 30th September Then we started adding boarders around the front cover about that the magazine has to offer such as news and prizes that are available in the magazine and also update on them. Monday 7th October Then I added all the details in and the writing and also took some pictures for my front cover and contents page for my school magazine and then added the front cover picture on to it to finish off the front cover. Monday 14th October After I was done with the front cover I went onto the contents page of the school magazine and used the same template and added the same background and added all the boarders in so that I can add the information in, in my work. Monday 21st October Basically I added all the information and also the page numbers that had to be there and also added some pictures of social media icons so that it is conversional and that’s what I done so far. Half Term Monday 4th November now I just added the picture into my contents page and done all of the editing and that’s it for the photo and then I done some finishing and then I added my editorial and that was be done with the school mag. Monday 11th November Began completing my Log book and Evaluation e.g. analysing the front cover of a magazine. Also researched Q magazine. Monday 18th November Today I was starting on the log book as we only got told about it last week as we just read through and got told in what we have to do on the log book and also the evaluation. Monday 25th November I started to research my genre as I didn’t know what genre to do as
- 3. there was too many that I liked so I had to do some genre research to pick the one I wanted. Monday 2nd December Now I’m researching Q magazine as that’s going to be one of the magazine that I am going to be researching and find out the target audiences and other things. Monday 9th December I finished doing the log book but not in that much detail but I finished doing my research on the magazines that I am going to be using as inspiration. Monday 16th December Now I’m starting to layout the way my front cover is going to be looking like the sizes and the colour of the background that I’m going to be doing. Christmas Holidays Monday 6th January Putting some pictures in my front cover magazine and finishing off some of the details that is going to have to be there. Monday 13th January Finishing off the front cover for the music magazine. Monday 20th January Started off my contents pages with the layout given to me. Monday 27th January Now I’m numbering and adding things that the magazine has to offer such as prizes and other things. Monday 3rd February Then I started adding some boarders around the magazine to make it look more professional. Monday 10th February Now I’m finishing off the contents page and started off doing the double page spread. Half Term

Monday 24th February I took pictures for contents page and also the double page spread Monday 3rd March I started off writing my interview on the double page spread and then I edited the pictures and added them in. Monday 10th March Now I’m finishing off the double pager spread and handing it into the teacher for improvements. Monday 17th March Teacher gave me the work back with correction Monday 24th March Finishing off the corrections and adding more detail and finishing off the evaluation. Monday 31st March Finished improvements and also evaluation and log book. Easter Holidays
