Summer Holidays
Monday 9th September Introduction to the coursework, key features of a magazine and
created my blog page on Wednesday 11th September.
Convention of a music magazine of my inspiration on
12thSeptember.
Re-cap of what the course work is about. Learned about different
shot types available and also looked at exemplar of last year
students’ work.
Monday 16th September Introduction to Hartley’s seven subjectivities, kart’s uses and
gratification theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

Monday 23rd September Shown how to use Photoshop briefly,
Draft and ideas for my preliminary task,
Convention of a school magazine
Survey monkey completed and sent out.
Began my preliminary task, added masthead grid lines, bar code,
and social media logo on the front cover.

Monday 30th September Went to the academy class in London waterloo on Wednesday
and we were trained by tony harmer.
Monday 7th October Completed preliminary task
Monday 14th October Learned another case study (field in England) involved VOD
Planned contents page for preliminary task.
Started the contents page of preliminary task so I added the header,
editorial, signature and made shapes, which I will need for the
completion of the magazine.
Monday 21st October I took images that I will use on my contents page and also placed it.
Took out the background using the selection tool.
Half Term

3. Monday 4th November Learnt about cross media convergence and examples in current
media.
Started planning the front cover of my music magazine by
brainstorming ideas for my masthead.
Monday 11th November Began my music magazine front cover by adding a as head,
background, strapline, barcode, date, issue 1 ,price, web, address and
social networking links.
Monday 18th November Completed my front cover of my music magazine. Had feedbacks from
friends and teachers then made all necessary conventions
Monday 25th November In this lesson I sketched my hand drawn draft on a white board adding
different convention and layout from other existing magazines. I did
some researched on how my magazine of inspiration and other
magazines including in their contents page and all spotted out some
things they didn’t do like including the page number and social media
websites. I then drew my magazine layout on a piece of paper and
started it off o Photoshop by using the ruler tool to make effective
layouts.
I wrote my editorial and placed it on my contents page; I used the font
styles from my front cover and maintained consistency. I will be
coming back during my free period today and after school to do more
for my contents page.
Monday 2nd December In this lesson, I made changes to my contents page and moved some
things around. I went to vibe.com and looked up some cover stories

4. about the artist which I have chosen to feature in my magazine. This
information will help me when I am doing my double page spread. I
also removed and place a new image on my front cover as I realized
that the one before was not very outstanding.
Monday 9th December I added cover lines to my contents page. These are the same stories
that are on my front cover, only that I added a little more information
to it.
Monday 16th December I placed the main image on my contents and added other conventions
like the page number, a screen shot of the front cover and a promotion
of the magazine as this is its first ever issue. I also replicated the name
of the magazine across to my contents page.
Christmas Holidays
Monday 6th January I received corrections for my contents page.
I completed my hand drawn draft for my double page spread
influenced by many different issues of ‘The source’, ‘Vibe’ and
‘XXL’magazine. I started on my double page by placing my images
and manipulating them to fit into my page layout. I duplicated
my masthead and banners fonts and colors from my contents. I
will continue on creating this double page by manipulating text
around one of the images. Feedbacks I have received involve
using a power main image as this consists of the image on the
front cover of my magazine.
Monday 13th January I worked on the feedback given to me by my peers and teachers

5. throughout the weekend and today. I made adjustments to my
front cover and changed the position in which I placed some
cover stories
Monday 20thJanuary I did corrections to my contents page such as changing the
beginning of the editorial to a drop capital and also moving some
things around till it looked better and professional
Monday 27th January I updated my blog page by adding more comments under the
images of the magazine pages that I uploaded.
I also went back to check on my preliminary task pages, and
realized that I had to move some cover stories around as it had
many spaces. So I did that
Monday 3rd February I kept on working on my main task front cover. I still changed
some of the font styles and played with it a bit, to see which
styles looks more outstanding. I worked on my log book and did
some print screens of my pages, to show evidence of how it was
created.
Monday 10th February This week I concentrated on my blog page and making sure that
the PowerPoint of my questionnaire and survey results are
uploaded and images of my work are added.
In addition, I continued to make my add improvements to my
main task double page spread.
Half term
Monday 24th February We looked at the expectations for the evaluation and I received
feedback for my double page on what I need to include within

I added an introduction to my blog page explaining what my page
consist of and how example of other media products I used to help
me produce my magazine.
Also, I added reflection notes to my questionnaire results and also
uploaded a proof of a questionnaire completed accompanied by
comments and why I made the decisions that I did.
Over the weekend I willcomplete question 1 of the evaluation.
Monday 3rdMarch Today I have continued to work on completing my blog page.
I continued adding evidence of planning and research and hand
drawn drafts to my blog page with reflection comments.
Monday 17th March I completed question 1-3 of my evaluation. I asked feedback from
my teacher for these questions in order to know what more to
include in this area.
Monday 24th March Continued with evaluation and did a video for audience
feedback for my main task magazine pages.
