Maximilian Stainer completed the Foundation Portfolio in Media Studies unit at St. Andrew's Catholic School. Over several months, he engaged in research, planning, production, and evaluation tasks related to creating a magazine front cover and double page spread. Monday 5th September I deconstructed an issue of a VIBE magazine front cover. This taught
me the basic components used for a magazine front cover.
Wednesday 7TH September I went through the target audience: Katz, Hartley’s and Maslow’s
Thursday 8th September I finished creating an audience profile for my hip hop magazine for my
planning and research task
Friday 9th September We went through many shot types, analyzed exemplar work and
updated our blog post.

We created a mood board and started on the mind map, which
consisted of all my ideas towards my magazine front cover.

2. Thursday 15th September We are currently analyzing our contents page and double page spread
Monday 19th September Today carried on finishing analyzing contents and DPS and received
homework to do the magazine prop list and a second blog post

Today we received our survey responses and created our own
questionnaire for people to fill up.
Thursday 22nd September Today we came up with our own font analyzed and a name of
magazine

3. Half Term
Wednesday 2nd October I have sharpened my barcode and social media logos
Thursday 3rd October I have added a puff promotion
Tuesday 8th October I have added in a strapline, main headline and main image
Wednesday 9th October I have put the main image in front of the masthead and I have also
edited the image to make it look better
Monday 11th November I have finished my front cover and I am now analyzing why I have
used the conventions within them
Monday 21st November So far I have started the contents page for preliminary task and have
so far outlined the structure of the page.
Tuesday 22nd November So far i have just included my editorialand have startedmaking the
features in my contents page

Monday 23rd January i have just started my DPS template on InDesign and i have just changed
the background
Tuesday 24th January So far i have added in a drop capitaland a pull quote for the DPS so the
magazine page can appeal to the audience.

the DPS
Thursday 26th January Today i have just added in the mastheadinto the DPS along with the page
reader to advise and navigate the reader through the magazine.
Wednesday 1st February At this moment of time i have just finished my DPS.

5. Thursday 2nd February Today I took more pictures to challenge my existing DPS pictures.

Thursday 9th February In this lesson I have startedthe evaluation task through the 7 questions
Tuesday 14th February I have completed half my questions using a range of different technologies
to present them on.

Wednesday 22nd February I am now doing some Photoshopcorrections in order to boost my mark for
all of the pages
