Romeo Character Analysis Essay
Crafting a comprehensive essay on the character analysis of Romeo can be both challenging and
rewarding. On one hand, the character of Romeo is multifaceted, filled with nuances and
complexities that require careful examination. On the other hand, this very richness of character
can make it daunting to encapsulate his essence within the confines of an essay.
To begin with, Romeo undergoes a significant transformation throughout the course of the play.
His impulsive nature, evident in his passionate love for Juliet and his fiery conflicts with Tybalt,
contrasts sharply with his melancholic disposition at the play's outset. Unraveling these layers
demands a keen understanding of Shakespearean language, symbolism, and the historical context
in which "Romeo and Juliet" is set.
Furthermore, delving into Romeo's motivations, relationships, and internal conflicts requires a
meticulous analysis of the text. The essay must navigate through the intricate web of his
interactions with other characters, such as Mercutio, Friar Laurence, and Juliet, while exploring
the underlying themes of love, fate, and societal expectations.
Beyond the textual analysis, the essay should incorporate critical perspectives, academic theories,
and relevant literary criticism to provide a well-rounded view of Romeo's character. Balancing
personal interpretation with scholarly insights adds depth and credibility to the analysis, but it
also demands careful research and synthesis of diverse viewpoints.
In conclusion, while the task of dissecting Romeo's character may be challenging, it offers an
opportunity for intellectual growth and a deeper appreciation of Shakespearean literature.
Navigating the complexities of his personality, relationships, and evolution throughout the play
requires dedication, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of literary elements.
Ultimately, a well-crafted essay on Romeo's character can illuminate the timeless complexities of
human nature and the enduring power of Shakespeare's storytelling.

Throughout history, anti-Semitism has been a reoccurring...
Throughout history, anti Semitism has been a reoccurring problem in which the
Dreyfus Affair was an important event. The Dreyfus Affair was a political scandal,
which divided France from the 1890 s to the early 1900 s. It was a very important
event in history. 1894 marked the start of a revolution for Jewish people, as a
French Jewish artillery officer, Captain Alfred Dreyfus was accused of treason
(Isseroff). The accusations against Dreyfus were false all because he was a Jew.
Following his accusation Dreyfus accumulated many followers that became known
as Dreyfusards and there were also those who were against him called anti
Dreyfusards (Drefler). Alfred Dreyfus was born into an upper middle class on

He was convicted of treason by court martial in December 1894 and sentenced to
life imprisonment in solitary confinement on Devil s Island, a prison off the coast
of French Guiana (Derfler). Before his deportation to Guiana he was publicly
degraded and humiliated. This false conviction was based on a list called the
bordereau, which contained admission to secret French military information
(Dreyfus). This list was picked out of the garbage pail of Maximilian Von
Schwartzkoppen, a German military attach in Paris (Johnson). Many years passed
before the truth was uncovered, Dreyfus was innocent and although false
information was used he was an easy target because the writing in the bordereau
matched his handwriting and the information came from an artillery officer
(Johnson). In 1899, Alfred Dreyfus was granted a presidential pardon and it is
unwritten that he had committed treason against Dragnev 3 France (Martin). It was
a matter of life or death because Dreyfus feared that he would not survive the well
known penal colony. The bordereau looked to connect an artillery officer since it
intended access to specific information regarding a new French artillery weapon
called the Modele 1890 120mm Banquet howitzer (Read). Along with the fact that
Dreyfus was a highly skilled artillery officer, he was
No Secret That Education Is The Primary Foundation For...
Dear Mayors of towns in New England, ( December 10, 1838 )
It s no secret that education is the primary foundation for genuine success in life.
Therefore, it s imperative for us to ameliorate our nation s education system as much
as possible for the future generations. For the most part, up until this point, most
Americans who have pursued an education have done so through private means. I am
by no means saying that free schooling in America today is non existent, but it s
evident that the education provided by these institutions is inadequate due to a lack
of trained professionals. Therefore, we must sedulously work towards fabricating a
greatly needed public education system in our beloved nation. The challenges that
America has faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And perhaps most vital of all, I have received word of America s first ever teacher
training college opening in Massachusetts during sometime next year. These are all
critical accomplishments, but this is just the beginning.
As far as the goals of this reform movement are concerned, our paramount objective is
to provide each and every student with free and equal education and opportunities. In
order for this to happen, it s imperative for this public education system to be put
implemented all over the nation. With regards to the financing of these common
schools, we intend on collecting the necessary funds through taxes. Again, our hope
is that these common schools will help shape Americans into exemplary citizens.
Another vital prospect to take into consideration is that a unified education system
would help assimilate all immigrants, which is fundamental, especially now during a
time when immigration has increased and will continue to increase at an exponential
rate. Another notable and somewhat ambitious goal is to procure the highest literacy
rate in the world. These are all things that definitely won t happen overnight, but we
are determined to work diligently towards meeting these goals.
Barriers and obstacles are always a part of the goal achieving process. Our education
reform movement is no different. Religious division is probably the biggest obstacle
Electronic Equipment s And Energy Storage
ABSTRACT
We discussed the exciting materials nanotubes in this outline and the study being
carried out on our part. We discussed the materials that are suitable for manufacturing,
their processing techniques and exotic applications with supported few references.
Here this abstract aims to define the basic principle of nanotubes that is their
definition, basic chemical and physical properties, their applications, their fabrication
process in details and their future prospect. Nanotubes hold the key in the next
generation of technological developments especially in case of electronic equipment
s and energy storage.
INTRODUCTION
Nano is associated with anything in the dimensional range of nanometers (1/10^9
meter). A nanowire is a long cylindrical specimen having diameter in the range of
few nanometers with an unconstrained length. Nanotubes are similarly hollow
nanowires and consists of tubes of 1 atom wall thickness. As a whole we work with
material properties in bulk and the quantum effects of atoms were averaged out. With
nanotubes and nanowires we work with materials in single dimension and atoms start
exerting significant quantum effect on mechanical properties and a wide range of
new properties and applications are being discovered.
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are constructed with length to diameter ratio of up to (1.32
Г— 108):1, which is significantly larger than any other material. The radius of
nanotube is in the order of few nanometres, while they can be up to 18
Comparing Two Newspaper Articles
Comparing two newspaper articles, one from a tabloid and one from a broadsheet
will convey the different techniques that tabloids and broadsheets use to present
stories. Media in general, aim to inform and interest the audience which consist of
many different types. Diverse emotions and ideas are created by the media; foremost
tabloids. Tabloids are papers like The Sun , The Mirror , The Daily Mail , The
Express and The Star . In contrast to these are broadsheetslike The Times , The
Guardianand The Daily Telegraph . Broadsheets are often known as the quality press
being more informing and formal in the manner they convey information and news
stories.

In this headline there is a comma missing after Sarah just to make the headline more
catchy and snappy. There is also alliteration M6 and man which labels the kidnapper
as the M6 man. Hence, The Sun sees the kidnapping story more newsworthy for its
readers and so presents it in a more affective way, regarding the layout.
In contrast to a broadsheet a tabloid s audience is aimed at socio economic group C
and below. Tabloids are aimed at a younger audience and focus on issues that their
readers can relate to. The targeted audience for the picture is everybody because
The Sun wants everybody to see it and hopefully recognize the kidnapper. It is
easily recognizable that The Sun is meant for readers that may or may not be highly
educated, hence, it is called The People s Paper . Therefore, the language used has to
be simple:
Police also boosted the hunt yesterday by issuing an e fit (above) of a suspect.
The colloquial word boosted adds evidence that The Sun targets a simple audience;
an audience which do not have to be highly educated.
On the other hand, The Times targets socio economic group C+. Further more, the
broadsheet is targeted at the age group 30+ and readers absorbed in financial,
political or other international matters or events. Therefore, the broadsheet is
associated with educated and capable readers:
Sussex police repeated calls for the man to come forward to be eliminated

Kierkegaard s Seduction of the Reader in The Seducer s Diary Kierkegaard s novel
The Seducer s Diary follows the story of Johannes, a man who lived much too
intellectually to be considered a seducer in the ordinary sense and his seduction of
Cordelia Wahl (Kierkegaard 9). There is however, another seduction that takes place
in The Seducer s Diary , namely Kierkegaard s seduction of the reader. The purpose
of the seduction of the reader in this novel is to maintain the interest of the reader
through interruption, affirmation of interpretive accuracy, and denial of that same
presumed interpretive accuracy via denial. The language used in The Seducer s Diary
is utilized to confuse, negate, and entice the reader into following... Show more

However, I believe that the most important one is Kierkegaard s use of interpretive
confusion to both affirm and deny the interpretations of the reader. On page 102 in
his diary, Johannes writes, That is, a book has the remarkable characteristic that it
can be interpreted as one pleases (Kierkegaard 102). I believe that the intent of this
insertion is to imply to the reader that there is ambiguity in every interpretation of
the novel. This is not an invitation on the part of Kierkegaard to allow the reader
complete freedom of interpretation, but rather a warning about the potential
unreconcilable ambiguity and confusion that would occur if one were to interpret
every book as one pleases. As an author, Kierkegaard does not let the reader freely
interpret this text. Instead, he predicts the interpretations of the reader in order to
deny these interpretations as he does with his ambiguous use of the you . Johannes
writes on page 96, My art is to use amphibolies so that the listeners can understand
one thing from what is said and then suddenly perceive that the words can be
interpreted another way (Kierkegaard 96). I believe that this is representative of
Kierkegaard s style in this novel, in which sudden reversals of perception and
interpretation are abundant. The use of amphibolies by Johannes leads the reader
down many different potential interpretive pathways. One marked example of
Case Study on the Computer Hack at Stellar University
My report will be discussing and analyzing the computer attack that happened at
Stellar University (SU). In the first part, I will give a brief about that school and
outline its servers. In the second part, I will discuss and analyze the issues that
happened in IT department and finally I will add solutions, recommendation and end
my report with conclusion and references.
Stellar University (SU) is an urban university that offers amazing majors such as
engineering, business, hypnotherapy and health. SU uses many tools such as
Mainframe AS 400, Unix, and Linux etc. Also, it has networking infrastructure such
as wireless and VPN (Virtual Private Network).
The issue is that SU did not have a qualified staff in IT who could operate and run
the system clearly. Moreover, they have low skills in training and low experience that
prevented them of being IT professionals which made them walking with no
direction. On the other hand, criterions of IT system were not clear due to the tight
restriction and updating password policy. These reasons created a shortage in
protecting IT system.
The server was an IBM and the upgrade were made to that server in order to
maximize space and memory. Additionally, the IBM server warranty has been
expired and it did not get renewed. The school management at SU decided to relocate
all servers to be at the computer center. The SU was on a budget which made SU
laying off some staff and reducing preventive maintenance.

Importance Of Wagons For The Oregon Trail
Wagons for the Trail In the Oregon Trail the people had to have wagons to travel
but they had to be easy to repair on their journey like after going through a river.
They had to be able to take parts off of it when needed. For example, when they
needed the wagons to float down the river. They would be sturdy to fit stuff into
and they would not break. They would need to have oxen, horses, and mules to pull
their wagons. According to www.oregontrailcenter.org the bed was a rectangular

had to meet up in the computer room I just had to type up my essayand turn it in. The
challenging part of this essay would be understandingthe prompt because I had no
idea what a Mission statement was and what I was supposed to do. For Essay 1 I
was marked down for redundancy, repetition, grammar and spelling and also
clutter. What I can do to prevent the errors in my next version would be to
understand the prompt and directions more and have more ideas to write about
myself. In my revised Essay 1 version I did well on fixing my mistakes and not
repeating the same mistakes as last time by using the feedback that I received and
changing or improving the mistakes that I made in the past. I believe that I was
marked down for the grammar, punctuation and spelling errors, clutter and the
conclusion which were the same issues that I was marked own with. What I can do
to ensure that the same issues won t be showing again would be to reread my
revisions and peer read my work so I can get the other mistakes that I might have
created while revising or missed by mistake.

The use of the Veterans Affairs medical care system has significantly increased over
the last decade due to two recent wars and an aging Vietnam Veteranpopulation. As
females have been accepted in all roles into the military, their population within the
military has progressively multiplied over the last three decades. Since females in

This data also specifies how many veterans are in each specific age group as well
as identifies how many veterans in each age group are either male or female. The
second set of data helps to organize the first and subsequent sets of data in order to
determine the number of current female veterans that use VA health services as
well as what percentage within in each age group uses VA health services. The
third and last set of data points specifies the current number of military personnel
and identifies those personnel by age group and gender. The second set of data
provided the total number of female veterans that currently use the VA for medical
care. Additionally this second set of data provides the percentages of each age
group that use the VA. This second set of data provided the needed information to

Drug Addiction, Death, And Burroughs Lifestyle
Drug addiction, death, and Burroughs lifestyle are perfect examples of voices from
the fringe. William S. Burroughs was born on February 5, 1914, in St. Louis,
Missouri. Burroughs died in Lawrence, Kansas, on August 2,1997. He supposedly
died from complications of a heart attack, which he incurred the day before. He was
buried in the family plot in Bellefontaine Cemetery, which is located in St. Louis
Missouri. His gravestone read his full name and the engravement American Writer on
it. The grave was placed to the right side of William Seward Burroughs I(1857 1898),
which was Burroughs grandfather. (Burroughs, Bio) Burroughs was the younger of
two sons born to the parents Laura Hammon Lee and Mortimer Perry Burroughs. The
Burroughs family was recognized as wealthy and of English descent in St. Louis,
Missouri. Burroughs grandfather was known for founding the Burroughs Adding
Machine Company. It later became known as the Burroughs Corporation. Burroughs
mother was known as the daughter of a minister. The ministers family was
apparently related to the famous and remarkable Robert E. Lee. Ivy Lee, Burroughs
maternal uncle was an advertising innovator. He later got employment being a
publicist for the famous Rockefellers. Burroughs father ran an antique and gift shop,
known as Cobblestone Gardens with their first location being in St. Louis, Missouri
and then later on in Palm Beach, Florida. Burroughs lived on Pershing Ave. in St, as
a child in St. Louis s Central West End.
Ghandi and His Fight Agains Discrimination in South
Africa...
Gandhi is considered by many around the world as the father of the Indian
independence movement. Gandhi spent over 20 years in South Africa working to
fight discrimination. It was in South Africa that he developed his concept of
Satyagraha, a non violent way of protesting against discrimination. The first time
Gandhi used Satyagraha was in South Africabeginning in 1907 when he organized
opposition to the Black Act. In 1907, the Black Act was passed, requiring all Indians
to keep registration documents on them at all times. Gandhi s first hand experiences
in dealing with discrimination began in South Africa. In Chapter VII Some

You must leave this compartment, or else I shall have to call a police constable to

This incident began his life long battle against all discriminations. Although he
debated returning to India, his duty came first. It would be cowardice to run back to
India without fulfilling my obligation. The hardship to which I was subjected was
superficial only a symptom of the deep disease of colour prejudice. I should try, if
possible, to root out the disease and suffer hardships in the process. Redress for
wrongs I should seek only to the extent that would be necessary for the removal of
the colour prejudice. Gandhi also faced the same discrimination on a coach from
Johannesburg to Charlestown, and learned the racial condescension of the racial
slur coolie. A coolie is a historical term for manual labourers and a racial slur. The
term was used in America towards the Chinese workers that built the railroad during
the 19th and early 20th century and toward the Indians indentured laborers. On the
coach, a white passenger did not want a coolie sitting inside with the other whites.

Impact Of The Voting Rights Act Of 1965
The most transformative piece of legislation relating to a minority culture group in
America is the Voting Rights Act of 1965, also known as the VRA. This piece of
legislation has nearly 150 years of history to prove that its affect on minorities,
mainly African Americans, has had a major impact on American civil rights and is
still in the spotlight today. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law by
President Lyndon B. Johnsonon August 6, 1965, and was designed to overcome legal
barriers at both the state and local levels of government that prevented African
Americans from exercising their right to vote. ( Voting Rights Act of 1965 ) The 15th
Amendment to the U.S. Constitution ratified on February 3, 1870 granted African
Americanmen the right to vote declaring that the right of citizens of the United States
to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account
of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. (Primary Documents...) Sadly, the
promise of the 15th Amendment was not realized for nearly a century because of
government use of poll taxes, literacy tests and other means used by the Southern
states to disenfranchise African Americans. The passing of the VRA helped
completely change history giving African American citizens a voice. Beginning with
the passing of the 15th Amendment in 1869, minority voting rights has had a lengthy
history in America. In 1896, Louisiana grandfather clauses kept former slaves and

History Of Electricity As A Treatment
History of Electricity as a Treatment
The idea of placing electric shocks on the head, or body, of a mentally ill patient
has existed for hundreds, even thousands of years. Before the invention of
electricity, electric eels, electric catfish, and other electrically stimulating fish were
applied to a variety of body parts in order to alleviate some sort of ailment. In A.D.
46, it was recorded that a torpedo fish applied to the head was used to relieve
headaches. Later in the sixteenth century in Africa, people used electric catfish to act
as a tool to carry out an exorcism to expel devils.
Once electricity was invented, psychologists and scientists alike utilized this new tool
in hopes of curing a range of mental illnesses, physical ailments, and diseases. In the
18th and 19th centuries European researchers applied electricity to the hands, neck,
spinal column, kidneys, and buttocks of patients attempting to treat physical
impairments, like blindness, to schizophrenia. The first documented use of electricity
to treat melancholia, was Giovanni Aldini, a professor at the Bologna University in
1801. Aldini believed that the use of electricity by itself was therapeutic. The
difference between simply using electricity and electroconvulsive therapy is the
stimulation of a grand mal seizure, without a seizure the treatment is not efficacious.
The two Italian psychiatrists credited with discovering ECT plainly stated that
electricity is simply the easiest way to induce a seizure;

Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that carry messages between neurons and
affect behaviour, mood and thought. Two of the neurotransmitters that play a role in
depression are norepinephrine and serotonin (Shives 2005). In depression, neurons
don t produce enough neurotransmitters. Shives (2005) states as a result, membrane
channels don t open, nerve messages are not communicated, and areas of the brain
affecting emotion may not receive stimulation (Shives 2005). The hormonal system
known as the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, that regulates the body s response
to stress, is overactive in many people with depression. The hypothalamus increases
production of corticotrophin releasing factor when a person s physical or
psychological well being is threatened (Shives 2005). Elevated levels of
corticotrophin releasing factor lean to an increase in hormone secretion by the
piturity and adrenal glands which prepares the body for defensive action (Shives
2005). The chronic overactivity of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis may occur
following a traumatic experience this may contribute to the onset of depression
(Shives 2005). Nursing Health care services are associated with levels of disease

atheistic humanistic god, to curse his Creator. There was no man to seek materialistic
inventions, to structure their own earthly heaven, build a crumbling success that
clings to that which is satanic and forgets their Creator. Before creation, no man
spent a lifetime running from the purpose of his creation, seeking his own ungodly
selfish end, and die not only rejecting his Savior and Godbut rejecting the treasure of
an eternity in Glory. Could it be that when God planned to create mankind that he
knew that man would fall and that his nature would be to seek his own selfish aims?

I have a harder time wondering why He would make any of us, and certainly, we all
fall short of the glory of God. So tell me, where does Scripture say a woman has the
right to do with her own body as she pleases? Where does she have the right to kill
an innocent baby? Does she indeed have the right to do as she pleases with her own
baby? Where are the child s rights? Is this not demonic? (16)
In the words of Rick Jones,
Satan worshipers are forced to drink stuff like urine and blood. They perform all
kinds of bloody animal sacrifices in their rituals. But it doesn t stop there. Experts
estimate that between 50,000 and 60,000 satanic human sacrifices take place each
year in the united States alone. That s 170 human sacrifices every single day. Their
favorite victims are babies; the younger the better. If you re real smart, you ve

Uncontrolled Driving Technology
Drifting off to sleep while driving can lead to a vehicle drifting off the road. An
uncontrolled moving vehicle is dangerous and can cause fatalities, injuries,
property damage, as well as legal problems. Staying alert and awake is crucial
while driving. Rolling down the car windows creates wind in the vehicle and can
keep drivers from drifting to sleep. Passengers or hands free devices can allow the
driver to maintain an alert state of mind by engaging in conversations. Drivers of
cars or trucks sometimes find caffeine helpful to stay awake. None of these are

driving have shown promise, but have not been able to go further than prototypes.
Cameras are able to record eye movements such as frequency and duration of blinks
as well as the space between the lids of the eye. This can be used to indicate the
level of alertness (R. Schleicher, 2008). The science is in place to make advances
to an in car alert system for drivers, but it would be unlikely to see it on the market
in the very near future. Concerns from researchers noted that the signal would not
be effective because the device would not pick up on the fatigue of the driver until
after the eyes were showing signs of microsleep (lids staying closed for more than
five seconds) and this would likely be too late. (R. Schleicher, 2008) In addition,
the cost of implementing a device is not one the car manufacturers are going to
want to pay for. Liability and privacy are more factors that I believe will prevent a
safety gadget of this type from being readily available to

Plantar Dermatosis Research Paper
Plantar dermatosis is a condition involving severe skin chapping of the sole of the
foot. The condition usually affects children between the ages of 7 and 14. It tends to
be worse in the fall and winter months.
CAUSES
Plantar dermatosis is caused by:
Inflammation (the body s way of reacting to injury and/or infection) of the soles of
the feet.
Wearing heavy, nonbreathing socks and shoes that keep the feet moist enough to
cause irritation.
Areas of skin where pressure is normally applied (along the toes, the ball of the foot
and the heel) become brittle and scaly.
Children with allergy problems and eczema seem to be at greater risk for this
condition.

TREATMENT
To treat plantar dermatosis:
Take off heavy shoes or boots when you come in from the cold. Wear lighter leather
shoes indoors.
Wear cotton socks. Change them a couple of times a day.
Apply topical steroids or other heavy lubricants (such as petroleum jelly) to your feet

At bedtime, apply steroids or creams and wrap your feet in plastic wrap to hold the
lubricant against the affected skin. Your caregiver can help you with specific steroids
and/or creams that can help.
Severe itching may improve with antihistamines such as diphenhydramine.
HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Change out of wet shoes/socks as soon as possible. It is best to keep your feet dry
when possible.
Avoid rubber or plastic footwear.
Change out of heavy footwear whenever possible.
Wear open sandals in good weather to allow your feet to breathe.

The Cultural Diversity Of Key West High
Diversity is everywhere. Whether it be in the music or foods we enjoy or the
people we associate with, everything that makes up the world we live in today is
affected by diversity. Without it, the world wouldn t be as rich with difference as it
is now, and our differences define our individuality and purpose in life. To be
exposed to the contrasts of one s self to others has been proven to make groups and
individuals smarter, lucrative, and more open minded. With all of these benefits,
perhaps the most important place for diversity to be present is at schools. Already,
the cultural diversity of Key West High is brilliantly complex. The individualities of
each student combined with those of others make a great environment for them to

Philosophies Of Adam Smith
The philosophies of Adam Smith and David Ricardo
Adam Smith is considered the father of modern economics. He defined economics as
the study of the nature and causes of nations wealth or simply the study of wealth.
The central point in Smith s definition is wealth creation. Implicitly, Smith identified
wealth with welfare. He assumed that the wealthier a nation, the happier are its
citizens. Thus, it is important to find out, how a nation can be wealthy. Adam Smith s
definition is a wealth centered definition of economics.
Main Characteristics of Wealth Definitions
The exaggerated emphasis on wealth: these wealth centered definitions gave too
much importance to the creation of wealth in an economy. The classical economists
like Adam Smith, J.S.Mill, J.B.Say, and others believed that economic prosperity of
any nation depends only on the accumulation of wealth. Inquiry into the creation of
Wealth: These definitions show that Economics also deals with an inquiry into the
causes behind the creation of wealth.
A Study on the nature of wealth: It has indicated that wealth of a nation includes only
material goods(e.g. different manufactured items.). Non material goods were not
included goods were not included.
Adam Smith s Theory of Absolute Cost Difference
Adam Smith s theory of absolute cost difference is the oldest theory of international

A Philosophical Point Of View Essay
Ethics in a philosophical point of view allows humans to fully understand the
importance of morality in a society. Throughout history, numerous philosophers have
had their own sense of morality. For instance, Thomas Hobbs considered morality as
simply as a social contract between cultures through the establishment of laws,
however others like Immanuel Kant saw it as an internal duty that all humans
unconsciously share and owe each other. Most people must side with one spectrum of
a topic than the other to determine an action is moral. Topics such as abortion, war,
marriage etc... have infiltrated modern liberal s conversations. I will write this paper
about abortion and, to support my opinion, I will first compare the arguments
previously made by four well known philosophers: Mary Ann Warren, Patrick Lee,
Robert P. George, and Judith Jarvis Thomson. After partaking on whichever side, I
will then apply a specific ethical theory that will help explain what influenced my
decision, then cover any possible objections and finish with any current
improvements being made to appease the tension from the topic. Abortion is the
deliberate termination of a humanpregnancy. For such a heartfelt topic, it needs has
been a practice since the ancient times They always contradict with the people that
consider themselves traditional.
Abortion as most people know, can be a difficult topic to speak of. It contains the
preservation of human life against the choice of protecting one s body and
The Theme Of Mrs Midas
The original story of Midas is from a Greek Mythology. He makes a wish, which
gives him the ability to be able to turn everything he touches into gold. However, he
eventually dies of starvation as a result of his vain prayer for the golden touch. This
morality tale tells us to be careful about what we wish for. Mrs. Midasis a poem
written from the point of view of the wife of the mythical King Midas. She speaks
against her husband s actions and slowly separates herself from him. This poem
conveys negative characteristic of men.
In the poem Mrs. Midas, the power of the husband over the wife shows how
complicated the relationship is. When her husband is in the garden, plucking a pear
from a tree, she observes how the pear in his hand shines ... Show more content on

Mrs. Midas finally admits that we all have wishes; granted. This shows that she
finally admits that her husband has wish granted. However, the mood adjusts and
readers feel sympathy for Mrs. Midas.
A child with perfect ore limbs is what Mrs. Midas dreams of. This phrase is moving
as it reminds the readers that she is not able to have human children. Ultimately, the
marriage terminates and she watches her husband s decline from a safe distance.
She symbolizes the position of many wives. Midas forgot his wife. Mrs. Midas
misses most, even now, his hands, his warm hands, his touch. She is in need for
warmth and affection, yet she is in loneliness.
In the original story of Midas, the society believes that Midas faces a tragic end as
he wished for too much, and was too selfish. His death tells the public that one
should be careful of what they wish for. However, Duffy challenges this idea in
Mrs. Midas. Even though Midas has the golden touch, in the poem, it does not seem
like he faces tragedy, yet Mrs. Midas does. She is slowly forgotten by her husband
and eventually ends the marriage because of his wish. She is not able to take action
even though she is hurt, yet she just steps back and suffers in
The Human Body Is Complex, And All Humans
Paul Ojugo
The human body is complex, and all humans are similar to one another in many
ways. As humans we share a lot of characteristics in common with one another, such
as having hands, feet, eyes, nose, gender, ethnic backgrounds and etc. There has to
be some characteristic or organ we have that differentiate all of us, and all these
features we have in common, and that is our brain. The brain is one of the largest and
most complex organs in the human body. It is made up more than 100 billion nerves
that communicate in trillions of connections called synapses. Synapse is a junction

1997). The cerebellum is connected by many multisynaptic pathways with all parts of
the central nervous system, including the cerebrum, basal ganglia, diencephalon,
limbic system, brainstem, and spinal cord. This makes the cerebellum one of the
busiest connections in the human brain (Greg etal 1997).The largest portion of the
brain is the cerebrum. This section contains tools which are responsible for most of
the brain function, and it is divided into four subsections. The temporal lobe, the
occipital lobe, parietal lobe, and frontal lobe. The cerebrum is divided into a right
and left hemisphere which are connected by axons that relay messages from one to
the other. This matter is made of nerve cells which carry signals between the organ
and the nerve cells which run through the body. The parietal lobe is one of the four
lobes located in the cerebral hemisphere, this lobe focuses on comprehension, visual
functions, language, reading, and internal stimuli. Tactile sensation and sensory
comprehension are the main trait focused in this lobe. The parietal lobe is
separated into two different cortex s named sensory cortex, and motor cortex, The
sensory cortex which is located in the front portion of the parietal lobe receives
information relayed from the spinal cord regarding the position of various body
parts and how they are moving, this area of the brain can also be used to
The Incredible Hulk Essay
16) The Incredible Hulk
The reason this film is at the bottom of the list might not be entirely its fault.
Marvel Studios at the time was still not exactly sure where they were going and
how Bruce Banner would play into the future of the MCU. However, this movie is
not Marvel s best work. Edward Norton was mediocre, there is no denying that
Mark Ruffalo is a much better, well rounded Bruce Banner. The climax is a bit of a
yawn, but the action scenes are decent. I could care less for the Bruce/Betty
dynamic, plus Betty was kind of a nuisance who got in the way. The CGI was
cringeworthy, the Hulk looks borderline cartoonish. Despite all this, it s an average
Hulk origin story, even though it is a bit less than satisfactory compared to other
MCU films.
15) Iron Man 2
Following an amazing film like Iron Man is a hard task, and Iron Man 2 did not meet
expectations. The movie was trying to cover too much content, and at the same time
trying to bring the fun, quick wittedness of its predecessor. At this time, Marvel was

Why Hunting Is Still A Common Thing
At one point in time, humans relied on hunting and gathering to survive. Although
now it is much easier to go get food for dinner, by just making a quick trip to the
store, it is still really important to understand why hunting is still a common thing.
Being able to hunt gives people the opportunity to bring home food to their families
that is natural and not steroid induced. Also, if for any reason the world was turned
upside down, how else would we find food to eat? I understand huntingis not for
everyone, but I would like to tell the story of my first kill so you can fully
understand the importance and feeling it gives me.An hour before sun up in late
November, the sound of my usually annoying, high pitched beeping alarm is now
waking me up with excitement. I roll over to the end of my bed and reached for
my phone on my nightstand. I turned my phone s alarm clock off and check the
temperature on my weather app. It is 28 degrees with the prediction of sun all day.
A beautiful morning to go hunting I say to my boyfriend as he brews his morning
coffee. I make us some breakfast; eggs, bacon, and toast fill our stomachs. After
breakfast, we put all our gear on. We dressed with extra layers to keep us warm, and
we put on our orange vests and hats. One last thing we need to do before we leave
our house; grab our guns and ammo.
The moment we step outside the house, the cool and incredibly fresh air wraps
around us, waking our brains up instantly. We make our way down
Descriptive Essay About Being Alone
We are dark as the moonless night, yet just as bright; intense and mysterious as the
forces that shaped us. Living in the shadows we fade from sight and mind, but we
are always there, forever defending what is ours. Porous and jagged, we absorb or
repel anything as well as anyone who seeks to oppose us. Whilst the ranks of our
enemies dwindle over time we endure, unwavering in our determination. Alone we
are weak, ineffective, and ultimately meaningless. Together we are strong, steadfast
and spectacular in our simplicity. We as one eternally serve the greater purpose, all
with the pride and patience only our kind possess.
At first, we were one, mighty and strong, we were great, but without meaning in our
existence, without scope or direction. Then, there was heat; blinding, raging heat
stronger than even the forces that shaped us, it tore us apart. Shattered our very
view of the world and separated us from one another. As suddenly as the
groundbreaking warmth appeared it was gone, leaving me all alone in the bitter cold
to fend for myself. For the first time I was on my own, my reality broken in an instant
into a million tiny pieces; it was overwhelming and strange, yet stunning along with
euphoric.
In the beginning the silence was empty and lacking. After a lifetime of togetherness,
the lonely feeling of isolation cut deep within me. To have a mind of my own was
both invigorating and petrifying, thoughts echoing far enough in the vastness to be
lost on their own
My Last Duchess By Robert Browning
My Last Duchess
The dramatic monologue My Last Duchess was penned down by Robert Browning.
In this poem, the narrator is the Duke of Ferrara, and the listener is the count s agent,
through whom the Duke is arranging the proposed marriage to a second duchess.
The poem is ironical and reveals its rhetorical sense, gradually. In the later part of the
poem, the Duke claims that he does not have a skill in speech, but his monologue is a
masterpiece of subtle rhetoric. While supposedly entertaining the listener by showing
his wife s portrait, he clearly reveals his character. Through his formalized tone of
rhyme, he reveals his egoistic and jealous attitude.
The Duke takes control of the situation entirely as he is the only speaker throughout
the poem and his way of speaking leaves no scope for interruption, by the listener.
The way he addresses his listener, That s my last duchess , calls attention to the
peculiarity of his designation which he indicates in a very proud manner. The
apparent pauses throughout the poem, shown by dashes, indicate hesitation as the
Duke considers what to say. This clearly suggests his manipulative attitude. As
soon as he points towards the standing portrait of his last wife, he asks his listener to
sit down Will t please you sit and look at her? His way of asking is not very polite
and is more of a command which shows the psychology of a man with power.
As he starts describing the portrait, he praises the painter Fra Pandolf, for
Biography on Sir John Franklin
Sir John Franklin was born Spilsby, Lincolnshire on April 16, 1786. Sir John
Franklin s parents, Willingham Franklin and his wife Hannah Weekes had twelve
children. Sir John Franklin was fascinated with the sea however his father opposed
it but Franklin s desire kept him determined. Franklin finally got his father to allow
him to go on a trail voyage at a young age. At fourteen, Franklin set out on his first
ship. Once returning, Franklin was more than determined now that his life would
be on the sea. With this, his father secured him a Royal Navy appointment. Later
Franklin was present on some historic voyages and naval battles. Some of the
battles in which Franklin was present includes the Battle of Copenhagen, the Battle
of Trafalgar, and the Battle of New Orleans. Between 1819 and 1822, Franklin lost
eleven of his men on a voyage. Reports of starvation, murder and even suggestions of
cannibalism. The survivors of the crew would eat anything even their leather boots

Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence
Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land
dispute that led to oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued
with a cycle of violence and fear. There are many factors behind the climate of terror
that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as oppression. The establishment
of Israelby Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were already living
in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian
Arabs way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and
fear normally follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews
claim they fled to Palestine to avoid persecution and that establishing Israel as a
Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety. Yet their safety, and now
the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800 s, Jews across
Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti Semitism and persecution. During
this era, there was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return
to the Jewish Holy Land to establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary
for Jews. However, according to the State of Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the
Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman Empire to grant them a
charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into Palestine.
World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including
Globalization Is An Increasingly Present Phenomenon,

everyone s life to a certain extent. Our world is more connected than ever, and not
just from an economic point of view, but from social, political, technological, and
cultural as well. Globalization can be defined, analysed, tackled many ways, but this
essay seeks to briefly define globalization, introduce the convergencediversity debate,
and examine the different types of organizational strategic perspectives in China.
The notions of globality can be traced back to the early part of humanity, but the term
globalization itself was not coined until the 20th century. From a social standpoint, it
can be defined as:

From a managerial point of view, there are many implications of convergence. For
example, the staff of multinational firms are often expected to move around the
organization s global operations.
Furthermore, Belief in the transferability of techniques has led management to turn
elsewhere for solutions to problems such as organization structures, new market entry,
product and process design, controlling labour and cost reduction. (Needle, pp.147)
On the other side of the debate, divergence scholars instead assert that national culture
, not economic ideology, or technological growth, is (and will continue to be) the
dominant force in shaping the values, beliefs, and attitudes...within a country .
(Gupta, V.; Wang, J pp. 69)
The divergence supporters argue that differences in cultural values can be seen as
natural barriers to convergence, and they can only be altered slowly. They insist, that
instead of converging on one model, national states and companies aim to be
different, so they can be more compatible on the global market. Divergence scholars
are convinced that management practices cannot simply be integrated, as cultural
differences particularly between Western and Eastern countries are too great.
There is a hybrid model which combines the best features of convergent and
divergent ideology, called cross vergence. It represents a middle way in the values
symbolized by the Western and Eastern world.

Flight represents more to the minority than mastering nature or freeing ones self
from the bonds of gravity. To the minority, flight represents freedom. Freedom from
the chains of slavery, freedom from the trappings of this world, freedoms from that
which may cause them or their families harm. America, as a country, is made up of
various races and cultures even carries as its symbol of freedom the Bald Eagle.
Although there are differences in literary references to flight among African
American, Hispanic, and American Indian writers, the common thread among them
all is the powerful desire for freedom through flight.
To the African American, references to flight almost always exclusively represent
freedom. Whether these references are in the form of novels, short stories, poetry,
or music, the history of the African s brought to America to serve as slaves is
primarily based on the idea of freedom. Just as it is stated in Course Objective 1a,
forced participation was brought about by the acquisition of slaves. They did not
choose to leave their native home of Africa, nor did they choose to live out their
lives as slaves in a foreign country among foreign white people who showed little
compassion for their plight. This left slaves feeling trapped and bound, spiritually,
and often times physically, therefore flight is frequently exercised as a means of
escape for African Americans from their position of oppression
The Cold Heavy Oil Production With Sand
A methodology has been developed for making low compressive strength cores that
will be used to experimentally examine the Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand
(CHOPS) process occurring in unconsolidated oil reservoirs. The main objective is to
experimentally model wormhole (high permeability channel) development during
CHOPS and investigate the effect of various flow parameters such as core
permeability and porosity, compressive strength, oil/water viscosity contrast,
confining pressure and injection rate. Modeling the wormhole development and
propagation will enable us be able to developing approximate Inflow Performance

Sands blends have been developed by varying the ratios of aggregate, cementing
material and water to prepare synthetic cores of compressive strength, permeability
and porosity ranging from 500 1500 psi, 0.5 1.5 Darcy and 20 30% respectively.
Experimental setup is developed to simulate wormhole propagation during CHOPS
process. In this process water is injected at varying range of 0.1 to 10 ml/min using
a syringe pump into floating piston accumulator to drive the oil ahead of piston to 2
x 4 synthetic core in core holder at a confining pressure of 500 1500 psi. The
differential pressure across the core is monitored throughout the process. LabVIEW

Architecture And Design Of Architecture
Architecture
An architect plans, designs and construct structures. Architects can design many
things like a shopping mall, a library, skyscrapers, and so much more. Architecture
is a very interesting career that I would like to learn more about. I will be discussing
why I chose to research this career and the different types of architects there are, the
average annual salary an architect makes, what they do on a daily bases, how much
education you need to be an architect, and the pros and cons about being an
architect. Not only will I be discussing these topics, but I will also research what
tools an architect uses, the best places for an architect to live at, and the top schools
to get an architecture degree (Shapiro).

There are residential architecture, commercial or public architecture, industrial
architecture, landscape architecture, and green architecture. Residential architecture
focuses on designing homes. A lot of the times a residential architect will work with
private clients. Commercial or public architecture focus more on public buildings like
shopping malls, hospitals, airports, and other public places. Industrial architecture is
more of an engineer. They work with building bridges, dams, and other technical
projects. Then there is landscape architecture, which focuses on outdoor areas. This
type of architect will design gardens, parks, lawns, and other public destinations that
are outside. Last, there is green architecture. Green architecture works with buildings
that are friendly to the environment.
What an architect does on a daily basis is draw a plan for a building before
constructing a building. Architects will use a lot of their creativity side of how they
want the building to look. They will make models of the building. Most of the time
an architect will be talking to the clients, engineers and contractors. When talking to
clients, it will be about what they want added to the plan or what they want changed.
Not only will they be talking to their clients and contractors, but they will also be
going to a lot of meetings and even talking
Censorship Of The Chinese Communist Party
When one uses the internet in China, the person must always understand... he or she
is being watched. In China, over 100,000 government enforcers work to censor or
block unwanted information from Chinese and foreign websites. Much of this
information being shot down includes talk of democracy, the very opposite of the
Chinese Communist Party s ideas. Censorship of internet and media in China has
been brought by its Communist government who have wanted to shield the Chinese
people from undesired ideas, such as democracy, that could start a large revolt of
citizens demanding government reforms. On October 1, 1949, Mao Zedongfounded
the People s Republic of China after he and his Communist supporters defeated the
nationalists, beginning a new era for China of strict totalitarian rule. When Mao died
in 1976, the country was left in ruins from Mao s failed plans. A new leader, Deng
Xiaoping, emerged and made reforms allowing open market capitalism in the
economy that changed China into a powerful country. Yet, Deng stayed with a
totalitarian government that still had harsh crackdowns such as the June 4, 1989
Tiananmen Massacre and today censorship law. Some may argue that it is necessary
the Chinese government continue to censor foreign websites and information in
order to ensure the public s safety and trust. Although the Chinese government states
that censorship is necessary to ensure citizens safety, it will threaten the country s
future success because it constricts
Persuasive Speech On Sea Turtles
Imagine a world of chaos. We see things like that all the time in movies, where
zombies roam the earth and there are just those few main survivors left. The world
is in ruins. If ocean life was to die out, there would be a collapse of civilization as a
whole. Just like we see on TV, the world would become a place where no order
exists. This would lead to human extinction. The ocean dies, we die along with it,
and if sea turtles die, so does the ocean. In simple words, one could say that human
life depends on sea turtles. In this speech I will be covering three topics. First, how a
sea turtles diet benefits marine life and humans, second, how sea turtles provide
homes and food for other species, and last, how sea turtles protect beaches from
washing away.
Sea turtles have been a big help in maintaining the health of the world s ocean for
more than 100 million years. They help by keeping up coral reefs all the way to
transporting nutrients to beaches. Major changes have occurred in oceans
everywhere due to the decline of the sea turtle population. Oceans are unhealthy
because of this. It is time for us to protect the sea turtles and rebuild their
population to ensure healthy oceans in the future. According to oceana.org, there
are seven species of sea turtles that roam the world, six of which inhabit U.S.
waters, and have been listed as either endangered, or threatened. Up until now, all
six of these species are not at a healthy level despite protection measures from the
Endangered Species Act (ESA). Some populations even continue to decline. Even
at a diminished population, sea turtles play an important role in ecosystems. They
are also extremely important to humans because they keep oceans healthy, and we
use the ocean as a food source. They keep up the health of the ocean in many
different ways, all of which, are very important. Sea turtles are one of the few
animals that eat sea grass. Just like normal lawn grass, sea grass needs to be
constantly cut short to help it grow across the sea floor rather than just getting really
long blades. Without constant grazing, sea grass beds obstruct currents and provide
a suitable habitat for the growth of slime molds. Sea grass beds provide breeding
grounds for many
My First Professional Job As A Nurse
My first professional job was in the health care field. I started off this career by
taking a diploma of nursing . My two sisters are registered nurses currently
working overseas (now as a nursing officer/sister). They are a great influence on
me and watching my sister s nursing career develop in many ways has given me a
passion for nursing. I have witnessed their hard work and all the effort that went
into the different stages of their nursing career and feeling sheer pride at their
commitment and selflessness and how they made a difference in a people s life
and also the lives of their families . I have a great admiration and respect for their
professionalism and dedication. My desire to take a course in nursing was... Show

mentor of newly graduate and student nurses . I provided basic life support and

what to do other than nursing so I decided to study certificate 111 in aged care in
2012 at INHA Perth . I had a placement at RSL care Menora . During my time at the
nursing home (where I was offered a paid job on my 3rd day of placement ) I
enjoyed talking to the residents and developing relationships with them and this is
something that really attracts me back to nursing. My experience working in the
nursing home also taught me how to work well in team with other professionals and
made me appreciate how important it is to show compassion and support . Mid last
year I undertook a course at the Royal Perth Hospital . I studied pathology and feel I
gained useful pathology skills which will be beneficial to nursing. Since August
2014, I have been working with Pathwest medicine laboratory at S.C.G.H hospital,
Nedlands and have been a phlebotomist/specimen collector (blood, urine, faeces,
sputum, skin scrape and nail clipping (mycology)). During this time, I have helped
different clientele groups in the health care industry. I have attended people with

Visit The Leepa Rattner Museum
For my museum trip I chose to visit the Leepa Rattner museum in Tarpon Springs. I
have never been to an art museum before so I wasn t quite sure what to expect. With
that being said, I must admit I really found enjoyment from the distinctive emphasis
that artists put within many of these images. Furthermore, it is truly amazing how
you can gaze at a work of artand begin to establish an idea of the narrative being
told within the image. The Leepa Rattner museum is not very large, and it did not
take very long to view everything that was on display. But to a great degree, I was
fascinated with the workmanship and focus of many of the paintings. The museum
was very beautiful, and the architecture was very well done as well. The building
presents an image of a ship at sea. Additionally, I really valued the size of the
museum, which is not huge, yet rather more personal and relaxed. I found a few of
the works strong and persuasive, and the more diminutive size keeps things in
perspective.
The first painting that really drew my attention was the full sized image by Picasso
called Guernica. The proportion and balance of the painting is astounding. The scene
portrayed in Guernica is a room filled with moving, shouting and anguished adults,
and creatures. Also, I was told by someone at the museum one of the more
fascinating parts of the piece, and that is that it is done in monochrome. Generally,
Picasso was known for his energetic abstract and cubist works of art, so why did he

Power Of Power In Othello
Bulldozers destroy. Ice cream soothes. Hurricanes terrorize. Worship music uplifts.
The American flag represents freedom. Presidents represent power. The cross
represents faith. All of these objects and people have certain tasks assigned to them,
requirements that are expected of them. But the symbols and experiences these
objects and people represent would be nothing without words. Words make the
destruction of a hurricane devastating to those living hours away. Words coalesce
with music notes, bringing encouragement and praise. Words make the ideas of
freedom, power, and faith attainable and life changing. That is because words are
more than empty sounds or distant thought. Words embody power, reveal beliefs,
alter the perspectives of self and others, and induce freedom. Words embody power,
giving people enough credibility to destroy or uplift others. In Othello, words are the
prime weapon used to destroy Othello and his future. Iagorefers to Othello as Such a
thing as thou..., knee crooking knave, and abuser of the world (Shakespeare
I.ii.57, I.i.22, I.ii.62). Iago uses these words against Othello, even though he is
simply Othello s advisor, to create a power over him. Iago manipulates people and
situations with words, destroying them in the process. Iago uses his words to
make people feel a certain way. Iago tells Othello, I see this hath a little dash d your
spirits...In faith, I fear it has . . . But I do see you re moved. (III.ii. 166ff). Iago wants

Comparing Cave Prisoners And Neo Leaving The Matrix
Once the cave prisoners and Neo are released from their state of ignorance, they
start to become more understanding of the outside world, as represented by the
cave dwellers escaping the cave, and Neo leaving the matrix. As the prisoners are
in the cave, watching the shadows pass on the wall, one of their prisoners is
released from the shackles. Because of his natural curiosity, the prisoners turns his
head to look outside the cave. Whilst looking outside the cave, the light from
outside and will cause him to suffer sharp pains; the glare will distress him, and he
will not be able to see the realities of which in his former state he had seen the

In the prisoner s past state, the shadows were his reality, but when the prisoner
goes outside for the first time do the shadows of the past slip away and become a
ghost of the world he once knew. The prisoners leaving the cave and experiencing a
new world can be similar to how Neo reacts once he leaves the cave and enters the
matrix. When Neo first meets Morpheus, he is given the option of choosing a red
pill or a blue pill. The red pill represents the world outside of the Matrix, and Neo s
possibly last chance to escape this world where he currently resides in. The blue pill
represents Neo s desire to stay in the matrix, where everything he knows is. Neo ends

The Concept Of Failure In The Great Gatsby
Failure is a difficult concept for many people to accept because it is hard to
understand what failure exactly is. The idea of failure can be seen in the
concluding chapters of The Great Gatsby when Gatsby fails to achieve his dream
of being with Daisy. The issue of failure exists within all people whether they are
successful or not. The issue of dealing with failure is a difficult hurdle to overcome
for many reasons, which includes ideas like not being able to recognize failure,
which results in the loss of purpose as well as the loss of willingness to improve. By
not being able to deal with failure, one s life can be put to a stop and lead them on a
bad path. One must be able to recover from failure and see that failure is only a
stepping stone to a betterand brighter future. Failure is difficult to recover from and
often leads to more failure, but it is not impossible to recover from. With resilience
and drive, a person who understands what failure is, is able to conquer it. One major
part of being unable to recover from failure is the inability to acceptthe fact that one
has failed. Recognizing failure is important because without the recognition, there is
no improving on a failed experience. In not recognizing failure as a problem, one is
given a false view of themselves where they never fail, however in The essential
Guide for Recovering from Failure , Guy Winch, Ph.D, shows the reader the problem
with not recognizing or understanding the concept of failure.
Imagery In Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress
To his coy mistress, a poem written by Andrew Marvell, who tries to persuade a
women(unknown) to sleep with him. In this poem Marvell uses many powerful
poetic techniques such as imagery, rhetorical questions, paradoxes and metaphors,
all these techniques were used throughout the poem to set an atmosphere. Marvell
uses imagery to create the atmosphere of the personality and character of the young
man. The writer uses a metaphors to say that life is short and we should just get on
with the relationship But at my back I always hear Times winged chariot hurrying
near and While the youthful hue sits on the skin like the morning dew... let us
sport these quotes prove that Marvell is begging her to stop wasting time before
there too old. He uses alliteration and says this coyness, lady, were no crime , he
addresses her as coy (shy) this suggest that he wants something from her that she isn
t prepared to give him. Moreover, the image of how death is lurking the woman fills
her with fear, to again convince the woman to sleep with the writer. Unlike in the
first stanza where the writer gives no importance for the woman to make her
decision, in the second stanza Marvell demands her to urgently make a decision:...

How Did Manet Portray Women Naked In The 19th Century
Such a scandal it was to paint women naked in the nineteenth century. Not a goddess
or a mythical creature, but a real, contemporary french woman. No matter how
beautifully it was painted, this type of subject matter was simply not supposed to be
done. This was such the case for Г‰douard Manet, a french painter in the nineteenth
century. In 1863 he created Le dГ©jeuner sur l herbe or The luncheon on the grass,
an oil on canvas impressionist style painting. Not only was there controversy in the
subject matter but in the way it was painted as well. The luncheon on the grass
depicts four people; two men and two women, having a lunch out in the woods. The
two men appear to be locked in conversation while they sit with the company of a
womanin nude. The woman s clothes in scattered in the left hand corner of the
painting, as if they were quickly shed off her body. The second woman appears
further back in the composition, standing in a small pond. All three appear to be

They had the capability to take a photograph of what they desired to paint, and then
return to their studio to paint it. This brought rise to a more photographic style of
painting, which often flattened the subject matter. This can be very easily seen here
in Manet s painting. One could say it was a lighter version of tenebrism; the
technique that used harsh light and darks. typically in this style of painting the
figures are in extreme light while the background is rather dark, similar to what
photography lightly would give. The woman in nude appears in a very bright, stark
manner against the dark clothing of the man she is sitting beside. She appears very
flat, almost as if she was cut out from another painting and placed there. Tenebrism
isn t the only technique used to create this painting, for the brush strokes move away
from clean and precise lines to more impressionistic

Why A Restaurant Should Be Paid At Home
Paying the bill is the least exciting part of dining out. After eating that wonderful
meal, it is hard to fork over any amount of money. Whether the destination of choice
is McDonalds or Red Lobster, it is still difficult to dispense money towards a meal
that could have potentially been replicated at home. Normally, the bill comes with an
additional feethat adds on to the total cost of the food. Gratuity is a way customers
show their appreciation or disapproval of their server. It is a direct reflection on how
the customers perceived the performance of their servers. Some restaurants have
made a transition to including gratuity into the bill. Essentially taking away the
grading scale of the waiter or waitress. Tipping a server should be the decision of the
consumer not the decision of the restaurant. In the United States the minimum wageis
$7.25 an hour, however for workers relying on gratuity their wage drops to $2.13...

Depending on the impact the server makes most likely influences the amount of
money the customer is willing to tip the server. By having a tip system, a
competitive environment is created throughout the restaurant. Famous chef, Andrea
Volpi, stated Gratuity is a direct reflection of the guests experience with their server.
Without the service included policy, the servers have more incentive to give great
service which, in turn, may increase their gratuity. Andrea Volpi generates several
points that support the claim of straying away from a check with a service fee.
Servers are not motivated when they are receiving minimum wage, the quality of
their work decreases and the satisfaction of the customer declines as well.
Restaurants should comprehend the fact that by having a tip incentive the service
provided by their waiters and waitresses is severely different then when a service fee
is factored into the

UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY
ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS One of the most
popular and potentially important marketing topics to arise in the 1980 s was the
concept of brand equity. The emergence of brand equity, however, has meant both
good news and bad news. The good news is that it has raised the importance of the
brand in marketing strategy which heretofore had been relatively neglected and
provided impetus for managerial interest and academic research activity. The bad
news is that the concept has been defined a number of different ways for a number of

Role of brands to consumers. To consumers, brands provide important functions.
Brands identify the source or maker of a product and allow consumers to assign
responsibility as to which particular manufacturer, distributor, or provider should be
held accountable. More importantly, brands can take on special meaning to
consumers. Because of past experiences with the product and its marketing program
over the years, consumers learn about brands. They find out which brands satisfy
their needs and which ones do not. As a result, brands provide a shorthand device or
means of simplification for their product decisions. If consumers recognize a brand
and have some knowledge about it, then they do not have to engage in a lot of
additional thought or processing of information to make a product decision. Thus,
from an economic perspective, brands allow consumers to lower search costs for
products both internally (in terms of how much they have to think) and externally (in
terms of how much they have to look around). Based on what they already know
about the brand its quality, product characteristics, etc. consumers can make
assumptions and

Proponents argue that LIFO provides a better matching of current costs and revenues.
During periods of sharp price movements, LIFO has a stabilizing effect upon reported
income figures because it eliminates paper income and losses on inventory and
smooths the impact of income taxes. LIFO opponents object to the method
principally because the inventory valuation reported in the balance sheet could be
seriously misleading. The profit figures can be artificially influenced by management
through contracting or expanding inventory quantities. Temporary involuntary
depletion of LIFO inventories would distort current income by the previously
unrecog nized price gains or losses applicable to the inventory reduction.

Romeo Character Analysis Essay. 018 Romeo Character Traits Essay Research Paper Academic Writing ...

  • 1. Romeo Character Analysis Essay Crafting a comprehensive essay on the character analysis of Romeo can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the character of Romeo is multifaceted, filled with nuances and complexities that require careful examination. On the other hand, this very richness of character can make it daunting to encapsulate his essence within the confines of an essay. To begin with, Romeo undergoes a significant transformation throughout the course of the play. His impulsive nature, evident in his passionate love for Juliet and his fiery conflicts with Tybalt, contrasts sharply with his melancholic disposition at the play's outset. Unraveling these layers demands a keen understanding of Shakespearean language, symbolism, and the historical context in which "Romeo and Juliet" is set. Furthermore, delving into Romeo's motivations, relationships, and internal conflicts requires a meticulous analysis of the text. The essay must navigate through the intricate web of his interactions with other characters, such as Mercutio, Friar Laurence, and Juliet, while exploring the underlying themes of love, fate, and societal expectations. Beyond the textual analysis, the essay should incorporate critical perspectives, academic theories, and relevant literary criticism to provide a well-rounded view of Romeo's character. Balancing personal interpretation with scholarly insights adds depth and credibility to the analysis, but it also demands careful research and synthesis of diverse viewpoints. In conclusion, while the task of dissecting Romeo's character may be challenging, it offers an opportunity for intellectual growth and a deeper appreciation of Shakespearean literature. Navigating the complexities of his personality, relationships, and evolution throughout the play requires dedication, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of literary elements. Ultimately, a well-crafted essay on Romeo's character can illuminate the timeless complexities of human nature and the enduring power of Shakespeare's storytelling. • 2. Throughout history, anti-Semitism has been a reoccurring... Throughout history, anti Semitism has been a reoccurring problem in which the Dreyfus Affair was an important event. The Dreyfus Affair was a political scandal, which divided France from the 1890 s to the early 1900 s. It was a very important event in history. 1894 marked the start of a revolution for Jewish people, as a French Jewish artillery officer, Captain Alfred Dreyfus was accused of treason (Isseroff). The accusations against Dreyfus were false all because he was a Jew. Following his accusation Dreyfus accumulated many followers that became known as Dreyfusards and there were also those who were against him called anti Dreyfusards (Drefler). Alfred Dreyfus was born into an upper middle class on October 9th 1859 in Mulhouse,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was convicted of treason by court martial in December 1894 and sentenced to life imprisonment in solitary confinement on Devil s Island, a prison off the coast of French Guiana (Derfler). Before his deportation to Guiana he was publicly degraded and humiliated. This false conviction was based on a list called the bordereau, which contained admission to secret French military information (Dreyfus). This list was picked out of the garbage pail of Maximilian Von Schwartzkoppen, a German military attach in Paris (Johnson). Many years passed before the truth was uncovered, Dreyfus was innocent and although false information was used he was an easy target because the writing in the bordereau matched his handwriting and the information came from an artillery officer (Johnson). In 1899, Alfred Dreyfus was granted a presidential pardon and it is unwritten that he had committed treason against Dragnev 3 France (Martin). It was a matter of life or death because Dreyfus feared that he would not survive the well known penal colony. The bordereau looked to connect an artillery officer since it intended access to specific information regarding a new French artillery weapon called the Modele 1890 120mm Banquet howitzer (Read). Along with the fact that Dreyfus was a highly skilled artillery officer, he was
  • 3. No Secret That Education Is The Primary Foundation For... Dear Mayors of towns in New England, ( December 10, 1838 ) It s no secret that education is the primary foundation for genuine success in life. Therefore, it s imperative for us to ameliorate our nation s education system as much as possible for the future generations. For the most part, up until this point, most Americans who have pursued an education have done so through private means. I am by no means saying that free schooling in America today is non existent, but it s evident that the education provided by these institutions is inadequate due to a lack of trained professionals. Therefore, we must sedulously work towards fabricating a greatly needed public education system in our beloved nation. The challenges that America has faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And perhaps most vital of all, I have received word of America s first ever teacher training college opening in Massachusetts during sometime next year. These are all critical accomplishments, but this is just the beginning. As far as the goals of this reform movement are concerned, our paramount objective is to provide each and every student with free and equal education and opportunities. In order for this to happen, it s imperative for this public education system to be put implemented all over the nation. With regards to the financing of these common schools, we intend on collecting the necessary funds through taxes. Again, our hope is that these common schools will help shape Americans into exemplary citizens. Another vital prospect to take into consideration is that a unified education system would help assimilate all immigrants, which is fundamental, especially now during a time when immigration has increased and will continue to increase at an exponential rate. Another notable and somewhat ambitious goal is to procure the highest literacy rate in the world. These are all things that definitely won t happen overnight, but we are determined to work diligently towards meeting these goals. Barriers and obstacles are always a part of the goal achieving process. Our education reform movement is no different. Religious division is probably the biggest obstacle
  • 4. Electronic Equipment s And Energy Storage ABSTRACT We discussed the exciting materials nanotubes in this outline and the study being carried out on our part. We discussed the materials that are suitable for manufacturing, their processing techniques and exotic applications with supported few references. Here this abstract aims to define the basic principle of nanotubes that is their definition, basic chemical and physical properties, their applications, their fabrication process in details and their future prospect. Nanotubes hold the key in the next generation of technological developments especially in case of electronic equipment s and energy storage. INTRODUCTION Nano is associated with anything in the dimensional range of nanometers (1/10^9 meter). A nanowire is a long cylindrical specimen having diameter in the range of few nanometers with an unconstrained length. Nanotubes are similarly hollow nanowires and consists of tubes of 1 atom wall thickness. As a whole we work with material properties in bulk and the quantum effects of atoms were averaged out. With nanotubes and nanowires we work with materials in single dimension and atoms start exerting significant quantum effect on mechanical properties and a wide range of new properties and applications are being discovered. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are constructed with length to diameter ratio of up to (1.32 Г— 108):1, which is significantly larger than any other material. The radius of nanotube is in the order of few nanometres, while they can be up to 18
  • 5. Comparing Two Newspaper Articles Comparing two newspaper articles, one from a tabloid and one from a broadsheet will convey the different techniques that tabloids and broadsheets use to present stories. Media in general, aim to inform and interest the audience which consist of many different types. Diverse emotions and ideas are created by the media; foremost tabloids. Tabloids are papers like The Sun , The Mirror , The Daily Mail , The Express and The Star . In contrast to these are broadsheetslike The Times , The Guardianand The Daily Telegraph . Broadsheets are often known as the quality press being more informing and formal in the manner they convey information and news stories. Different newspapers show different stories; stories the reader can relate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this headline there is a comma missing after Sarah just to make the headline more catchy and snappy. There is also alliteration M6 and man which labels the kidnapper as the M6 man. Hence, The Sun sees the kidnapping story more newsworthy for its readers and so presents it in a more affective way, regarding the layout. In contrast to a broadsheet a tabloid s audience is aimed at socio economic group C and below. Tabloids are aimed at a younger audience and focus on issues that their readers can relate to. The targeted audience for the picture is everybody because The Sun wants everybody to see it and hopefully recognize the kidnapper. It is easily recognizable that The Sun is meant for readers that may or may not be highly educated, hence, it is called The People s Paper . Therefore, the language used has to be simple: Police also boosted the hunt yesterday by issuing an e fit (above) of a suspect. The colloquial word boosted adds evidence that The Sun targets a simple audience; an audience which do not have to be highly educated. On the other hand, The Times targets socio economic group C+. Further more, the broadsheet is targeted at the age group 30+ and readers absorbed in financial, political or other international matters or events. Therefore, the broadsheet is associated with educated and capable readers: Sussex police repeated calls for the man to come forward to be eliminated
  • 6. Comparing The Seduction Of The Reader In The Seducer s... Kierkegaard s Seduction of the Reader in The Seducer s Diary Kierkegaard s novel The Seducer s Diary follows the story of Johannes, a man who lived much too intellectually to be considered a seducer in the ordinary sense and his seduction of Cordelia Wahl (Kierkegaard 9). There is however, another seduction that takes place in The Seducer s Diary , namely Kierkegaard s seduction of the reader. However, I believe that the most important one is Kierkegaard s use of interpretive confusion to both affirm and deny the interpretations of the reader. On page 102 in his diary, Johannes writes, That is, a book has the remarkable characteristic that it can be interpreted as one pleases (Kierkegaard 102). I believe that the intent of this insertion is to imply to the reader that there is ambiguity in every interpretation of the novel. This is not an invitation on the part of Kierkegaard to allow the reader complete freedom of interpretation, but rather a warning about the potential unreconcilable ambiguity and confusion that would occur if one were to interpret every book as one pleases. As an author, Kierkegaard does not let the reader freely interpret this text. Instead, he predicts the interpretations of the reader in order to deny these interpretations as he does with his ambiguous use of the you . Johannes writes on page 96, My art is to use amphibolies so that the listeners can understand one thing from what is said and then suddenly perceive that the words can be interpreted another way (Kierkegaard 96). I believe that this is representative of Kierkegaard s style in this novel, in which sudden reversals of perception and interpretation are abundant. The use of amphibolies by Johannes leads the reader down many different potential interpretive pathways. One marked example of

In the second part, I will discuss and analyze the issues that happened in IT department and finally I will add solutions, recommendation and end my report with conclusion and references. Stellar University (SU) is an urban university that offers amazing majors such as engineering, business, hypnotherapy and health. SU uses many tools such as Mainframe AS 400, Unix, and Linux etc. Also, it has networking infrastructure such as wireless and VPN (Virtual Private Network). The issue is that SU did not have a qualified staff in IT who could operate and run the system clearly. Moreover, they have low skills in training and low experience that prevented them of being IT professionals which made them walking with no direction. On the other hand, criterions of IT system were not clear due to the tight restriction and updating password policy. These reasons created a shortage in protecting IT system. The server was an IBM and the upgrade were made to that server in order to maximize space and memory. Additionally, the IBM server warranty has been expired and it did not get renewed. The school management at SU decided to relocate all servers to be at the computer center. The SU was on a budget which made SU laying off some staff and reducing preventive maintenance. What I did to prepare for this assignment was that our instructor gave us the prompt ahead of time and I created a rough draft and when we had to meet up in the computer room I just had to type up my essayand turn it in. The challenging part of this essay would be understandingthe prompt because I had no idea what a Mission statement was and what I was supposed to do. For Essay 1 I was marked down for redundancy, repetition, grammar and spelling and also clutter. What I can do to prevent the errors in my next version would be to understand the prompt and directions more and have more ideas to write about myself. In my revised Essay 1 version I did well on fixing my mistakes and not repeating the same mistakes as last time by using the feedback that I received and changing or improving the mistakes that I made in the past.   • 16. History Of Electricity As A Treatment History of Electricity as a Treatment The idea of placing electric shocks on the head, or body, of a mentally ill patient has existed for hundreds, even thousands of years. Before the invention of electricity, electric eels, electric catfish, and other electrically stimulating fish were applied to a variety of body parts in order to alleviate some sort of ailment. In A.D. 46, it was recorded that a torpedo fish applied to the head was used to relieve headaches. Later in the sixteenth century in Africa, people used electric catfish to act as a tool to carry out an exorcism to expel devils. Once electricity was invented, psychologists and scientists alike utilized this new tool in hopes of curing a range of mental illnesses, physical ailments, and diseases. In the 18th and 19th centuries European researchers applied electricity to the hands, neck, spinal column, kidneys, and buttocks of patients attempting to treat physical impairments, like blindness, to schizophrenia. The first documented use of electricity to treat melancholia, was Giovanni Aldini, a professor at the Bologna University in 1801. Aldini believed that the use of electricity by itself was therapeutic. The difference between simply using electricity and electroconvulsive therapy is the stimulation of a grand mal seizure, without a seizure the treatment is not efficacious. The two Italian psychiatrists credited with discovering ECT plainly stated that electricity is simply the easiest way to induce a seizure;

Throughout history, numerous philosophers have had their own sense of morality. For instance, Thomas Hobbs considered morality as simply as a social contract between cultures through the establishment of laws, however others like Immanuel Kant saw it as an internal duty that all humans unconsciously share and owe each other. Most people must side with one spectrum of a topic than the other to determine an action is moral. Topics such as abortion, war, marriage etc... have infiltrated modern liberal s conversations. I will write this paper about abortion and, to support my opinion, I will first compare the arguments previously made by four well known philosophers: Mary Ann Warren, Patrick Lee, Robert P. This section contains tools which are responsible for most of the brain function, and it is divided into four subsections. The temporal lobe, the occipital lobe, parietal lobe, and frontal lobe. The cerebrum is divided into a right and left hemisphere which are connected by axons that relay messages from one to the other. This matter is made of nerve cells which carry signals between the organ and the nerve cells which run through the body. The parietal lobe is one of the four lobes located in the cerebral hemisphere, this lobe focuses on comprehension, visual functions, language, reading, and internal stimuli. Tactile sensation and sensory comprehension are the main trait focused in this lobe. The parietal lobe is separated into two different cortex s named sensory cortex, and motor cortex, The sensory cortex which is located in the front portion of the parietal lobe receives information relayed from the spinal cord regarding the position of various body parts and how they are moving, this area of the brain can also be used to
  • 27. The Incredible Hulk Essay 16) The Incredible Hulk The reason this film is at the bottom of the list might not be entirely its fault. Marvel Studios at the time was still not exactly sure where they were going and how Bruce Banner would play into the future of the MCU. However, this movie is not Marvel s best work. Edward Norton was mediocre, there is no denying that Mark Ruffalo is a much better, well rounded Bruce Banner. The climax is a bit of a yawn, but the action scenes are decent. I could care less for the Bruce/Betty dynamic, plus Betty was kind of a nuisance who got in the way. The CGI was cringeworthy, the Hulk looks borderline cartoonish. Despite all this, it s an average Hulk origin story, even though it is a bit less than satisfactory compared to other MCU films. 15) Iron Man 2 Following an amazing film like Iron Man is a hard task, and Iron Man 2 did not meet expectations. The movie was trying to cover too much content, and at the same time trying to bring the fun, quick wittedness of its predecessor. Thor had a huge character arc in the first film, and he kept that good character in this one. This installment has a cool, realm jumping end fight scene, as well as many witty quips, mostly from Darcy and Loki. Although now it is much easier to go get food for dinner, by just making a quick trip to the store, it is still really important to understand why hunting is still a common thing. Being able to hunt gives people the opportunity to bring home food to their families that is natural and not steroid induced. Also, if for any reason the world was turned upside down, how else would we find food to eat? I understand huntingis not for everyone, but I would like to tell the story of my first kill so you can fully understand the importance and feeling it gives me.An hour before sun up in late November, the sound of my usually annoying, high pitched beeping alarm is now waking me up with excitement. I roll over to the end of my bed and reached for my phone on my nightstand. I turned my phone s alarm clock off and check the temperature on my weather app. It is 28 degrees with the prediction of sun all day. A beautiful morning to go hunting I say to my boyfriend as he brews his morning coffee. I make us some breakfast; eggs, bacon, and toast fill our stomachs. After breakfast, we put all our gear on. We dressed with extra layers to keep us warm, and we put on our orange vests and hats. One last thing we need to do before we leave our house; grab our guns and ammo. The moment we step outside the house, the cool and incredibly fresh air wraps around us, waking our brains up instantly. We make our way down
  • 30. Descriptive Essay About Being Alone We are dark as the moonless night, yet just as bright; intense and mysterious as the forces that shaped us. Living in the shadows we fade from sight and mind, but we are always there, forever defending what is ours. Porous and jagged, we absorb or repel anything as well as anyone who seeks to oppose us. Whilst the ranks of our enemies dwindle over time we endure, unwavering in our determination. Alone we are weak, ineffective, and ultimately meaningless. Together we are strong, steadfast and spectacular in our simplicity. We as one eternally serve the greater purpose, all with the pride and patience only our kind possess. At first, we were one, mighty and strong, we were great, but without meaning in our existence, without scope or direction. Then, there was heat; blinding, raging heat stronger than even the forces that shaped us, it tore us apart. Shattered our very view of the world and separated us from one another. As suddenly as the groundbreaking warmth appeared it was gone, leaving me all alone in the bitter cold to fend for myself. For the first time I was on my own, my reality broken in an instant into a million tiny pieces; it was overwhelming and strange, yet stunning along with euphoric. In the beginning the silence was empty and lacking. After a lifetime of togetherness, the lonely feeling of isolation cut deep within me. To have a mind of my own was both invigorating and petrifying, thoughts echoing far enough in the vastness to be lost on their own
  • 31. My Last Duchess By Robert Browning My Last Duchess The dramatic monologue My Last Duchess was penned down by Robert Browning. In this poem, the narrator is the Duke of Ferrara, and the listener is the count s agent, through whom the Duke is arranging the proposed marriage to a second duchess. The poem is ironical and reveals its rhetorical sense, gradually. In the later part of the poem, the Duke claims that he does not have a skill in speech, but his monologue is a masterpiece of subtle rhetoric. While supposedly entertaining the listener by showing his wife s portrait, he clearly reveals his character. Through his formalized tone of rhyme, he reveals his egoistic and jealous attitude. The Duke takes control of the situation entirely as he is the only speaker throughout the poem and his way of speaking leaves no scope for interruption, by the listener. The way he addresses his listener, That s my last duchess , calls attention to the peculiarity of his designation which he indicates in a very proud manner. The apparent pauses throughout the poem, shown by dashes, indicate hesitation as the Duke considers what to say. This clearly suggests his manipulative attitude. As soon as he points towards the standing portrait of his last wife, he asks his listener to sit down Will t please you sit and look at her? His way of asking is not very polite and is more of a command which shows the psychology of a man with power. As he starts describing the portrait, he praises the painter Fra Pandolf, for

It is based on a land dispute that led to oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear. There are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as oppression. The establishment of Israelby Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian Arabs way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and fear normally follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to Palestine to avoid persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety. Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800 s, Jews across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti Semitism and persecution. During this era, there was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the Jewish Holy Land to establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However, according to the State of Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including

(Needle, pp.147) On the other side of the debate, divergence scholars instead assert that national culture , not economic ideology, or technological growth, is (and will continue to be) the dominant force in shaping the values, beliefs, and attitudes...within a country . (Gupta, V.; Wang, J pp. 69) The divergence supporters argue that differences in cultural values can be seen as natural barriers to convergence, and they can only be altered slowly. They insist, that instead of converging on one model, national states and companies aim to be different, so they can be more compatible on the global market. Divergence scholars are convinced that management practices cannot simply be integrated, as cultural differences particularly between Western and Eastern countries are too great. There is a hybrid model which combines the best features of convergent and divergent ideology, called cross vergence. It represents a middle way in the values symbolized by the Western and Eastern world.

Freedom from the chains of slavery, freedom from the trappings of this world, freedoms from that which may cause them or their families harm. America, as a country, is made up of various races and cultures even carries as its symbol of freedom the Bald Eagle. Although there are differences in literary references to flight among African American, Hispanic, and American Indian writers, the common thread among them all is the powerful desire for freedom through flight. To the African American, references to flight almost always exclusively represent freedom. Whether these references are in the form of novels, short stories, poetry, or music, the history of the African s brought to America to serve as slaves is primarily based on the idea of freedom. Just as it is stated in Course Objective 1a, forced participation was brought about by the acquisition of slaves. They did not choose to leave their native home of Africa, nor did they choose to live out their lives as slaves in a foreign country among foreign white people who showed little compassion for their plight. This left slaves feeling trapped and bound, spiritually, and often times physically, therefore flight is frequently exercised as a means of escape for African Americans from their position of oppression

The Cold Heavy Oil Production With Sand A methodology has been developed for making low compressive strength cores that will be used to experimentally examine the Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand (CHOPS) process occurring in unconsolidated oil reservoirs. The main objective is to experimentally model wormhole (high permeability channel) development during CHOPS and investigate the effect of various flow parameters such as core permeability and porosity, compressive strength, oil/water viscosity contrast, confining pressure and injection rate. Modeling the wormhole development and propagation will enable us be able to developing approximate Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) curves. Sands blends have been developed by varying the ratios of aggregate, cementing material and water to prepare synthetic cores of compressive strength, permeability and porosity ranging from 500 1500 psi, 0.5 1.5 Darcy and 20 30% respectively. Experimental setup is developed to simulate wormhole propagation during CHOPS process. In this process water is injected at varying range of 0.1 to 10 ml/min using a syringe pump into floating piston accumulator to drive the oil ahead of piston to 2 x 4 synthetic core in core holder at a confining pressure of 500 1500 psi. In China, over 100,000 government enforcers work to censor or block unwanted information from Chinese and foreign websites. Much of this information being shot down includes talk of democracy, the very opposite of the Chinese Communist Party s ideas. Censorship of internet and media in China has been brought by its Communist government who have wanted to shield the Chinese people from undesired ideas, such as democracy, that could start a large revolt of citizens demanding government reforms. On October 1, 1949, Mao Zedongfounded the People s Republic of China after he and his Communist supporters defeated the nationalists, beginning a new era for China of strict totalitarian rule. When Mao died in 1976, the country was left in ruins from Mao s failed plans. A new leader, Deng Xiaoping, emerged and made reforms allowing open market capitalism in the economy that changed China into a powerful country. Yet, Deng stayed with a totalitarian government that still had harsh crackdowns such as the June 4, 1989 Tiananmen Massacre and today censorship law. Although the Chinese government states that censorship is necessary to ensure citizens safety, it will threaten the country s future success because it constricts
  • 43. Persuasive Speech On Sea Turtles Imagine a world of chaos. We see things like that all the time in movies, where zombies roam the earth and there are just those few main survivors left. The world is in ruins. If ocean life was to die out, there would be a collapse of civilization as a whole. Just like we see on TV, the world would become a place where no order exists. This would lead to human extinction. The ocean dies, we die along with it, and if sea turtles die, so does the ocean. In simple words, one could say that human life depends on sea turtles. In this speech I will be covering three topics. First, how a sea turtles diet benefits marine life and humans, second, how sea turtles provide homes and food for other species, and last, how sea turtles protect beaches from washing away. Sea turtles have been a big help in maintaining the health of the world s ocean for more than 100 million years. They help by keeping up coral reefs all the way to transporting nutrients to beaches. Major changes have occurred in oceans everywhere due to the decline of the sea turtle population. Oceans are unhealthy because of this. It is time for us to protect the sea turtles and rebuild their population to ensure healthy oceans in the future. According to oceana.org, there are seven species of sea turtles that roam the world, six of which inhabit U.S. waters, and have been listed as either endangered, or threatened. Up until now, all six of these species are not at a healthy level despite protection measures from the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Some populations even continue to decline. Even at a diminished population, sea turtles play an important role in ecosystems. They are also extremely important to humans because they keep oceans healthy, and we use the ocean as a food source. They keep up the health of the ocean in many different ways, all of which, are very important. Sea turtles are one of the few animals that eat sea grass. Just like normal lawn grass, sea grass needs to be constantly cut short to help it grow across the sea floor rather than just getting really long blades. Without constant grazing, sea grass beds obstruct currents and provide a suitable habitat for the growth of slime molds. Sea grass beds provide breeding grounds for many

But the symbols and experiences these objects and people represent would be nothing without words. Words make the destruction of a hurricane devastating to those living hours away. Words coalesce with music notes, bringing encouragement and praise. Words make the ideas of freedom, power, and faith attainable and life changing. That is because words are more than empty sounds or distant thought. Words embody power, reveal beliefs, alter the perspectives of self and others, and induce freedom. Words embody power, giving people enough credibility to destroy or uplift others. In Othello, words are the prime weapon used to destroy Othello and his future. Iagorefers to Othello as Such a thing as thou..., knee crooking knave, and abuser of the world (Shakespeare I.ii.57, I.i.22, I.ii.62). Iago uses these words against Othello, even though he is simply Othello s advisor, to create a power over him. Iago manipulates people and situations with words, destroying them in the process. Iago uses his words to make people feel a certain way. Iago tells Othello, I see this hath a little dash d your spirits...In faith, I fear it has . . . But I do see you re moved. (III.ii. 166ff). Iago wants bad news

Comparing Cave Prisoners And Neo Leaving The Matrix Once the cave prisoners and Neo are released from their state of ignorance, they start to become more understanding of the outside world, as represented by the cave dwellers escaping the cave, and Neo leaving the matrix. As the prisoners are in the cave, watching the shadows pass on the wall, one of their prisoners is released from the shackles. Because of his natural curiosity, the prisoners turns his head to look outside the cave. Whilst looking outside the cave, the light from outside and will cause him to suffer sharp pains; the glare will distress him, and he will not be able to see the realities of which in his former state he had seen the shadows (33 35). In the prisoner s past state, the shadows were his reality, but when the prisoner goes outside for the first time do the shadows of the past slip away and become a ghost of the world he once knew. The prisoners leaving the cave and experiencing a new world can be similar to how Neo reacts once he leaves the cave and enters the matrix. When Neo first meets Morpheus, he is given the option of choosing a red pill or a blue pill. The red pill represents the world outside of the Matrix, and Neo s possibly last chance to escape this world where he currently resides in. The blue pill represents Neo s desire to stay in the matrix, where everything he knows is. Neo ends up taking the red pill, and is transported out of the
  • 49. The Concept Of Failure In The Great Gatsby Failure is a difficult concept for many people to accept because it is hard to understand what failure exactly is. The idea of failure can be seen in the concluding chapters of The Great Gatsby when Gatsby fails to achieve his dream of being with Daisy. The issue of failure exists within all people whether they are successful or not. The issue of dealing with failure is a difficult hurdle to overcome for many reasons, which includes ideas like not being able to recognize failure, which results in the loss of purpose as well as the loss of willingness to improve. By not being able to deal with failure, one s life can be put to a stop and lead them on a bad path. One must be able to recover from failure and see that failure is only a stepping stone to a betterand brighter future. Failure is difficult to recover from and often leads to more failure, but it is not impossible to recover from. With resilience and drive, a person who understands what failure is, is able to conquer it. One major part of being unable to recover from failure is the inability to acceptthe fact that one has failed. Recognizing failure is important because without the recognition, there is no improving on a failed experience. In not recognizing failure as a problem, one is given a false view of themselves where they never fail, however in The essential Guide for Recovering from Failure , Guy Winch, Ph.D, shows the reader the problem with not recognizing or understanding the concept of failure.

In this poem Marvell uses many powerful poetic techniques such as imagery, rhetorical questions, paradoxes and metaphors, all these techniques were used throughout the poem to set an atmosphere. Marvell uses imagery to create the atmosphere of the personality and character of the young man. The writer uses a metaphors to say that life is short and we should just get on with the relationship But at my back I always hear Times winged chariot hurrying near and While the youthful hue sits on the skin like the morning dew... let us sport these quotes prove that Marvell is begging her to stop wasting time before there too old. • 51. How Did Manet Portray Women Naked In The 19th Century Such a scandal it was to paint women naked in the nineteenth century. Not a goddess or a mythical creature, but a real, contemporary french woman. No matter how beautifully it was painted, this type of subject matter was simply not supposed to be done. This was such the case for Г‰douard Manet, a french painter in the nineteenth century. In 1863 he created Le dГ©jeuner sur l herbe or The luncheon on the grass, an oil on canvas impressionist style painting. Not only was there controversy in the subject matter but in the way it was painted as well. The luncheon on the grass depicts four people; two men and two women, having a lunch out in the woods. The two men appear to be locked in conversation while they sit with the company of a womanin nude. The woman s clothes in scattered in the left hand corner of the painting, as if they were quickly shed off her body. The second woman appears further back in the composition, standing in a small pond. All three appear to be dressed in contemporary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They had the capability to take a photograph of what they desired to paint, and then return to their studio to paint it. This brought rise to a more photographic style of painting, which often flattened the subject matter. This can be very easily seen here in Manet s painting. One could say it was a lighter version of tenebrism; the technique that used harsh light and darks. typically in this style of painting the figures are in extreme light while the background is rather dark, similar to what photography lightly would give. The woman in nude appears in a very bright, stark manner against the dark clothing of the man she is sitting beside. She appears very flat, almost as if she was cut out from another painting and placed there. Tenebrism isn t the only technique used to create this painting, for the brush strokes move away from clean and precise lines to more impressionistic

  • 53. Why A Restaurant Should Be Paid At Home Paying the bill is the least exciting part of dining out. After eating that wonderful meal, it is hard to fork over any amount of money. Whether the destination of choice is McDonalds or Red Lobster, it is still difficult to dispense money towards a meal that could have potentially been replicated at home. Normally, the bill comes with an additional feethat adds on to the total cost of the food. Gratuity is a way customers show their appreciation or disapproval of their server. It is a direct reflection on how the customers perceived the performance of their servers. Some restaurants have made a transition to including gratuity into the bill. Essentially taking away the grading scale of the waiter or waitress. Tipping a server should be the decision of the consumer not the decision of the restaurant. Depending on the impact the server makes most likely influences the amount of money the customer is willing to tip the server. By having a tip system, a competitive environment is created throughout the restaurant. Famous chef, Andrea Volpi, stated Gratuity is a direct reflection of the guests experience with their server. Without the service included policy, the servers have more incentive to give great service which, in turn, may increase their gratuity. Andrea Volpi generates several points that support the claim of straying away from a check with a service fee. Servers are not motivated when they are receiving minimum wage, the quality of their work decreases and the satisfaction of the customer declines as well. Restaurants should comprehend the fact that by having a tip incentive the service provided by their waiters and waitresses is severely different then when a service fee is factored into the

Brand Equity UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS Kevin Lane Keller Tuck School of Business Dartmouth College UNDERSTANDING BRAND EQUITY ANSWERS TO TEN COMMON BRANDING QUESTIONS One of the most popular and potentially important marketing topics to arise in the 1980 s was the concept of brand equity. The emergence of brand equity, however, has meant both good news and bad news. The good news is that it has raised the importance of the brand in marketing strategy which heretofore had been relatively neglected and provided impetus for managerial interest and academic research activity. The bad news is that the concept has been defined a number of different ways for a number of different purposes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 Role of brands to consumers. To consumers, brands provide important functions. Brands identify the source or maker of a product and allow consumers to assign responsibility as to which particular manufacturer, distributor, or provider should be held accountable. More importantly, brands can take on special meaning to consumers. Because of past experiences with the product and its marketing program over the years, consumers learn about brands. They find out which brands satisfy their needs and which ones do not. As a result, brands provide a shorthand device or means of simplification for their product decisions. If consumers recognize a brand and have some knowledge about it, then they do not have to engage in a lot of additional thought or processing of information to make a product decision. Thus, from an economic perspective, brands allow consumers to lower search costs for products both internally (in terms of how much they have to think) and externally (in terms of how much they have to look around). Based on what they already know about the brand its quality, product characteristics, etc. consumers can make assumptions and

During periods of sharp price movements, LIFO has a stabilizing effect upon reported income figures because it eliminates paper income and losses on inventory and smooths the impact of income taxes. LIFO opponents object to the method principally because the inventory valuation reported in the balance sheet could be seriously misleading. The profit figures can be artificially influenced by management through contracting or expanding inventory quantities. Temporary involuntary depletion of LIFO inventories would distort current income by the previously unrecog nized price gains or losses applicable to the inventory reduction.
