Essay On Women Impowerment
Writing an essay on the topic of women empowerment is both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies not in the scarcity of information or lack of resources, but rather in the complexity
and sensitivity of the subject matter. Addressing women's empowerment requires a deep
understanding of historical contexts, cultural nuances, and the multifaceted nature of gender
dynamics.
One must navigate through a myriad of perspectives, from feminist theories to real-world
examples of successful empowerment initiatives. The essay demands a careful balance of
statistical data, personal narratives, and theoretical frameworks. Additionally, it requires a
nuanced exploration of the challenges faced by women in different socio-economic, cultural, and
geographical contexts.
Furthermore, the writer must be adept at weaving together a compelling narrative that captures
the essence of women's struggles and triumphs without oversimplifying or generalizing the
experiences of diverse groups. It is essential to remain sensitive to the intersectionality of issues
related to gender, considering how factors such as race, class, and ethnicity intersect with and
impact women's empowerment.
Moreover, the essay should not merely highlight the problems but also propose meaningful
solutions and advocate for positive change. This involves delving into policy discussions,
grassroots movements, and the role of education and economic opportunities in fostering
empowerment.
In conclusion, writing an essay on women empowerment demands not only research and
analytical skills but also empathy and a commitment to amplifying the voices of those who have
been marginalized. It is a journey that requires a thoughtful exploration of complex issues, a
dedication to justice, and a genuine passion for creating a more equitable society.

Katherine Cross Argument Analysis
Katherine Cross is a strong believer that the game PokГ©mon Go, that was the most
popular game to hit the web recently needs some sort of boundaries that the users
must obey by. She definitely gains credibility by bringing in some quotes from
different authors. She supports her argument that less developed areas do not have
the same luxuries for this gameas the more fortunate areas by citing other authors
like Christopher Huffaker who said in his article that black neighborhoods and
rural areas have fewer PokГ©mon Go locations (Huffaker). Bringing inequality as
an issue in her article that is going to cause an argument for society. She is going to
gain a lot of support on her argument because people in those areas can argue that
even though they aren t as wealthy as other places in society, they should still get
the same benefits to this game as everyone else. Katherine does a good job at
arguing both sides of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Katherine arranges her text to put different negative impacts on her audience s
emotions to really show that bad things are happening. She brings up one topic
while also including a paragraph about stalking, another about robbing, and one
about fighting because of trash talking. By shedding light on all these problems
with a game like this is going to get more readers to agree with her since what is
happening is illegal and sad. Crime has been linked to this game specifically and
unless something is done to add some rules, nothing is going to change about the
crime rate. Cross also points out some good features of the game in her article. So
far, it seems like the physical nature of PokГ©mon Go helps tamp down the
harassment that might otherwise occur if the game took place in a purely online
space (Cross). Although she mentions some good aspects about this game, you can
clearly tell she believes that this game is still doing more harm than
A Social Class System
There is no way to deny that a social class system exists that divides people by
general popularity. Once children begin school, they begin to separate into these
divisions. The top of the social ladder, often considered to be people who are cool,
are stereotyped to be beautiful and happy. Although in some cases this may be
true, it is not always that way. Misconceptions about popularity lead to a greater
divide amongst the social classes, and cause those in the lower social levels to be
considered as or to feel as if they are inferior. Articles like one written by Christian
McBride, entitled Be Cool, published in This I Believe II, continue to develop the
false ideology that one must be popular in order to live a full, happy life. McBride
believes that, Being cool is not what you say or do, but how you say or do it,
(McBride 160) and due to the fact that, ... I sleep well at night, and work with
people who apparently like to work with me, (McBride, 158) he is cool himself. A
musician by trade, McBride works in a unique environment compared to the large
majority of American citizens. According to Business Insider, as of April 2014,
musician is not even one of the top ten most common jobs in the United States; with
the top three most common including retail salespersons, cashiers, and food
preparation and serving workers, (Weisenthal). The fact that his co workers
apparently enjoy working with him, would imply that every single person in the top

Physical Development Of Children Essay
This topic considers what the physical development of children in middle childhood
(6 10) is, and how their physical needs in the learning environment can be
accommodated. The key elements taken into consideration would be the development
of motor skills for the selected age group and the influences of the specified group.
The benefits of physical activity and the consequences of prolonged inactivity, how a
student s development can be facilitated or restricted through development in other
areas with the use of physical activity and issues of health and well being in the
learning environment to accommodate or support the physical needs and
development of the students in the specified age group. Accounts and ideas by

It is stated by McInerney McInerney that Overemphasis on one type of developmental
readiness such as reading readiness, for example may preclude learners from
demonstrating that they are more capable in other areas of performance (McInerney,
D.M McInerney, V. 2002) Therefore the same theory would apply to a student having
physical developmental readiness. Through physical activity students grow their
motor skills and enables them to utilise them in learning environments such as the
class room. In kindergarten students the motor skills would be a lot less developed
that that if a year 6 student, so when planning a physical activity this needs to be
taken into account. The benefits of implementing physical activity into the
curriculum of students are not only a valuable asset to the students health and well
being, but also to their learning development. Physical activity promotes healthy
growth and development of the cardio respiratory system, enabling oxygen to travel
throughout their bodies helping with healthy muscle and bone growth in children.
Physical activity also promotes social health benefits in children giving them more
confidence and vital social skills development Our Bodies and our brains are
adapted to regular exercise, and they do not function well without it (Aamodt, S

Thomas Paine Common Sense
Context:
In result of The Seven Years War Britain controlled American trade and territory. In
order to pay for the expenses of the war several taxation acts and military presence
were implemented such as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Currency Act, Quartering Act
and the presence of British troops at the colonies. Consequently, Americans who
thought these actions violated their political and constitutional liberties opposed
these policies with petitions, boycotts, and resistance strategies known as the
Imperial Crisis. In January 1776 Thomas Paine s Common Sense was composed to
convince Americans of the need for independence from British rule and establishment
of democracy. This pamphlet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that a democratic system based on continual elections and rights of the
people protected by a written constitution would be more beneficial to society. To
strengthen the concept of democracy, Paine speaks of a hypothetical society brought
up in an isolated part of the world, away from other inhabitants. This supposed society
represented the first people. Thomas Paine claims that some of its people will have
many accomplishments other will not; thus through hunger, disease, misfortune and
death it is inevitable that the people will set up some form of government that ...will
establish a common interest with every part of the community, they will mutually and
naturally support each other, and on this (not on the unmeaning name of king)
depends the strength of government, and the happiness of the governed (Thomas
Paine, Common Sense). This statement reassures his beliefs towards democracy
while showing how pointless English rule is to society. Thomas Paine is attempting
to promote American independence with this document by explaining the benefits of
democracy, in doing so he is demeaning the English government. Paine emphasizes
the prejudices the English may have had by stating, And as a man, who is attached to
a prostitute, is unfitted to choose

In ancient numerology interpretations the 5 stands in the center of all primary
numbers. This is an exciting pattern for freedom, movement, change, diversity and
variety. One 5 is pleasant because it brings in the qualities of the five pointed star or
pentagram. This is a visual of man/woman with arms stretched out into all corners of
the biosphere and the heavens. Man/woman is represented as the microcosm of the
macrocosm within the 5 pattern. Essentially, this pattern brings in the free flowing
ability to traverse all old ideologies set up within humanity and make certain there is
evolution as man/woman living as an interconnected organism in the flow of life.
Consequently, one 5 can represent the rebel as it does so with Jungarian archetypes.
What if a person had more than one five within their own being? What if the person
had multiple 5 s that turn into a spiral of energy?
Firstly, we have to see the 5 Pentad is a Sacred Geometrical pattern that exists to
create order round this energy. The 5

The Person Who Taught Me How To Read
I ve been reading as long as I can remember. The person who taught me how to read
was my mother, I remember her making sure I knew how to read and write my
name before I started preschool. After that point, I would read anything I could get
my hands on that was my level. I also wrote, but not as much as I read. Magazines,
the backs of cereal boxes, even the little books my mom would buy me. I remember
my mom telling me stop writingin your books, you ll ruin them, after that, I made
sure to keep a pencil and paper with me in case I felt like I wanted to write.
In addition to reading and writing in my books, I would sit with my sister after she
had checked out her books from the library at the school she attended. I d wait until
she finished, and then get her books and read as much as I could. The books she had
checked that I had been really fond of would have to be the Clifford the Big Red Dog
and Junie B Jones series. She didn t really like to read so she would get small books
and let me read them. After I had read her books, I would read other things around
the house,I also liked to read the Sunday comics. It was around that time I
discovered how much I liked to read. I read so much that by the time I had reached
second or third grade, I didn t have a reading level. I would just go into the library
and get any book I wanted.
Although I loved small books, I would try to check out the largest books I could find
because they had the most AR points. I would try to pick

Japan, break isolationism and get deeply involved in World War II. On 7 December

The Battle of Midway was a huge success in American code breaking and proving
that the use of the aircraft carrier would definitely be a vital resource in the Pacific
Theater ( Battle of Midway ). Three months later the Americans pressed forward
setting their eyes on a near Australia called Guadalcanal. This battle would be the
first allied offensive on the Empire of Japan. On 7 August 1942 American forces
landed on the islands of Guadalcanal, Tulagi, and Florida in the southern Solomon
Islands with the objective of denying their use by the Japanese to threaten the
supply and communication routes between the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
The Allies also intended to use Guadalcanal and Tulagi as bases to support a
campaign to eventually capture or neutralize the major Japanese base at Rabal on
New Britain ( Battle of Guadalcanal ). Powerful United States naval forces had
supported the landings. Surprised by the Allied offensive, the Japanese made several
attempts between August and November 1942 to retake Henderson Field. Three
major land battles, seven large naval battles, and continual, almost daily aerial battles
culminated in the decisive Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in early November 1942, in

My Neighborhood Essay
Where I live is one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city to live in; however it
does have its draw backs. Importantly it has nearly everything a resident might want,
beautiful picturesque scenery, proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural
centers. Nevertheless the roads can be some of the most congested in town, and the
streets are not safe to walk late at night. Fortunately, I wake every morning to the
most beautiful sunlit house. I sit on my porch sipping coffee, while I drink in an
atmosphere that steals my breath away. Rolling hills lay before me that undulate until
they crash into golden purple mountains. Oh how they are covered in spectacular
fauna, ever blooming foliage, and trees that are heavy with pungent fruit.... Show

The Mexican tile roofs jump out at your eyes, until the gorgeous iron gates of other
estates snatch your attention. I can at times be overwhelmed with the feast before my
eyes. My favorite structure by far is the towering ruins of the old sugar plantation.
The words ruins, sugar, and plantation alone are enough to conjure up the most
fascinating stories within ones imagination. I can see the bones of an age past;
still standing before me to mourn, and dream about. I live in a grouping of villas
where a restaurant and pool facilities are being constructed. I smell fresh sawn
mahogany as the carpenters make bars, counters, and doors. I hear stone masons
chipping at tiles, and the scraping sounds as they pull out the mortar to lay them.
Sometimes in the morning I pull on running sneakers and jog down to Kmart to
grab some household items. Then I might bop over to AT T to pay my cell phone
escaping the crowds and long lines that form later in the day. The bank tellers are
also so much nicer in the morning before rude customers have agitated and frustrated
them. On Sundays my family and I take in concerts and shows for free. We sit on the
lawn that adorns the hill behind our house which overlooks the Center for
Performing Arts. Whether it s paying bills, shopping for pleasure, or enjoying a
cultural affair the convenience of it all is another reason I love my neighborhood.
Never the less our royal neighborhood does have some less desirable elements. Most
Th That Long Silence By Shashi Deshpande
Women in Indian society belong to the category of the unprivileged, the suppressed,
the downtrodden and the marginalised. She has been suffering for long being
socially, politically as well as financially marginalised. In simple terms a woman in
Indian society is deprived of opportunities and freedom to go with her own
preferences and choices and thus marginalised at every front. Womansuffers some or
other sort of marginalisation whether she is educated or illiterate, dependant or
independent, traditional or modern, rural or urban. Despite of our advance in the 21st
century, women in our society is still subjugated and placed at a secondary position to
men. She has to follow the path of men whether her father, her husband or her son
forgetting her personal identity. Women s struggle for identity and emancipation has
long been treated as one of the major thematic concerns in Indian English writings.
Indian English writers of fiction have written variously highlighting the women
issues. Shashi Deshpande, an Indian feminist fiction writer has dealt the issue of
women being a marginalised figure in a phallocentric world.... Show more content on

The protagonist Jaya becomes the emblem of modern Indian women dangling
between tradition and modernity. Deshpande in this novel writes about the women s
incessant struggle with the patriarchy which is primarily a passive rejection resulting
into a silent protest. Deshpande has used the motif of silence masterly interpreting it
at two parallel levels the lower class women of least means and the financially
independent middle class women. Both the categories are essentially women as their
struggles are the same; they face the same challenges of not being understood by the
male governed society. They all are marginalised and silenced. Jaya, the protagonist
has presented the silence of middle class women and also exhibited the possibility of

CONTEMPORARY TRENDS IN RETAIL ARCHITECTURE
INTRODUCTIONEmerging economic trend is the increasing globalization of the
Retail sector through FDI. Consumer businesses hoping to remain successful in the
coming decades and hence must recognize the opportunities and challenges in Retail
store/shopping competition. Along with the growing potential retail market the
consumer base is increasing with a varied diversity which includes difference in
language, culture, customs and historical design precedents. all of these increase the
need for creative and innovative design that is sensitive to the changing life style of
people.
Retail Store Space with its tremendous growth rates expected in the near future,
gives an ample amount of scope for architects to offer their expertise in helping
retailers adapt their innovative design concepts for sustainable retail space. Many of
the retailers still adapting the schemes based on building same boxes over and over,
which the developers also rely on the same cookie cutter concept for shopping centres,
which do not sustain in the modern competition of big malls and city centres.
In the last five years the retailing industry has undergone several changes, the effect
of globalisation had turned retailing in to a global enterprise. Foreign organisations

Medieval Universities Essay
Medieval Universities
The appearance of universities was part of the same high medieval education boom.
Originally universities were institutions where students could attain specialized
instruction in advanced studies. These types of studies were not available in the
average cathedral schools. Advanced schools existed in the ancient world, but did not
promote a fixed curricula or award degrees. The term university originally meant a
corporation of guild. All universities were corporations of students or teachers.
Guilds were originally established to protect the interests and rights of the members.
The majority of the universities practiced diverse curriculum ( a few universities did
specialize in medicine or law). A new... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is usually done by filling out a questionnaire. At this point in time, the student
has already endured a full term of a professor. If the professor is doing a horrible or
unfair job, the student is forced to endure this without any relief. Not only does this
affect the student s drive to learn, but also his ability to learn. Having a poor
professor hinders the student s learning capabilities. When this happens, the student
has usually forgotten most of what he learned by the end of the term. This makes a
total waste of time and money.
As for medieval times, the student guilds began to have enormous power during
the 13th century. Students could discharge professors that did not meet the
specifications of a good professor. The students only had to refuse to attend the
classes. Professors of this time also had to pledge allegiance to a guild. The guild
would provide the professor s salary. Professors were dependent to the students and
had to receive permission from the students for any changes. Holidays and beginning
and duration time of lectures were decided by the student guilds. With the passage of
time, guilds began to structure the curriculum, and the time duration of each subject.
A fine would be imposed if the professor omitted material or went over the
designated duration time of lectures. The student guilds were kept informed of a
professor s behavior and incompetence and would discipline the professor
A Method Of Preventing School Shootings
A method of preventing school shootings would be to acknowledge risk factors
that the student is facing. For example, bullying is a risk factor for school
shootings. In a research study done in 2001 of 37 school shootings, it was reported
that 75% of the school shooters felt bullied, threatened, or injured by others in
which most of the shooters in the report had experienced long term bullying and
harassment from their peers (Duplechain Morris, 2014). In addition, the authors do
state: School personnel too often accept that children get teased and bullied every
day, because teachers, parents, students, and other adults have grown up thinking
that bullying is a normal part of school life. It has easily become an accepted part
of today s school culture (Ibid, 2014). The authors believe that schools view
bullying as something that students should get used to. This does show how
bullying is an issue in schools. It is not solely to blame in regards to school
shootings, but is a risk factor for them. Relationships and past traumas are risk factors
for school shootings (Duplechain Morris, 2014). The author states in regards to
relationships and school shootings
The lack of attachment with their parents or caregivers at the beginning of their life
to some of the school shooters. Sueng Hui Cho, who was the shooter of the Virginia
Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007 suffered from this kind of risk factor. Cho did not

American Fashion Industry in 21st Century
American Fashion in 21st Century Fashion is the need to adapt to ever changing
styles; to dress in distinctive and current trends and a means for one to express
their individuality. Fashion refers to keeping every aspect of one s body up to date
for varying reasons. Some people prefer a simple life style with modest attire
whereas most passionately follow the fashionindustry and rapidly change
accordingly. This increase in demand for individually tailored items including
everything from clothing and footwear to makeup and body piercings is what gave
birth to the fashion industry. The roots of this business can be traced to America in

What is more, this completion extends to designers as well since they strive to
differentiate their products introduce innovative styles which can result in an
inefficient use of resources and illegal business practices. This need for cost
minimization is one of the reasons as to why the fashion industry exploits cheap
foreign labor. The glamor, the runways and the exhibitions are just the front of a
dark background. This industry works on the basis of subcontracting, where
designers place orders with manufacturers who then hire sub contractor to
complete their orders. Since this industry is highly competitive subcontractor are
given only take or leave option with often less payment compared to amount of
work which forces them to resort to employing cheap labor in their own
workshops which often end up resembling sweat shops. Even if this is not the case,
designer brands have their own units to produce their goods. Recently many of the
fashion retailers have been accused of underpaying their workers and violating
international labor laws by running sweatshop. These involve extremely low
wages, long working hours and poor working conditions. Earlier this month,
factories in Cambodia were investigated for possible violation labor laws. These
factories produced clothing for the fast fashion retailer H amp;M which was found to
be paying their workers a measly wage of $61 a month by a Swedish TV program
called Kalla Fakta (Keilla 1). Since America is powerful

Sears which was the largest retailer in U.S more than 50 years ago, lost $748
million in the last quarter of 2016 from falling sales. The article explains that the
reason behind the severe financial loss came back to bad decision that sears made

Sears began in 1886 as a watch company, founded by Richard W. Sears. The article
explains that Sears was a successful retailor the same as Wal Mart during 1890 till
1930s. The Sears catalog could be found in every home in America. In early 1900s,
Sears was famous for its mail order delivery. In 1925, Sears had no physical stores in
the United States. The country was changing and many people were now moving to

THE CHALLENGES OF CONDUCTING UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE IN
INDONESIA
Introduction
Indonesia is making health sector reform to all its citizens by enacting the
universal health coverage starting from January 2014. This program will be under
the agency known as Social Security Provider or Badan Penyelenggaran Jaminan
Sosial (BPJS). Every Indonesian citizen and foreigners who have lived in
Indonesia for a minimum of six months shall be a member of BPJS. This is in
accordance with the article 14 of Law BPJS. Each company must register its
workers as a member of BPJS. Each participant will be levied on BPJS dues which
is determined later. As for the poor, BPJS dues will be paid by the government
through the dues assistance. Being a participant in BPJS not only mandatory for
workers in the formal sector, but also informal workers. Informal workers are also
required to be a member of BPJS. Workers must register and pay the dues in
accordance with the desired level of benefits.
Universal health insurance is expected to start gradually in 2014 and by 2019, all
Indonesian citizens are expected to have the health insurance. Indonesian health
minister stated that BPJS will cover all kinds of diseases with the efficiency efforts.
However, conducting this program is not without challenges. Many challenges and

While regular brands use advertising media such as billboard, public transportation,
radio, flyers, and etc to make their products exposed to as many people as possible,
luxury brands usually use magazines to promote their items and this is maintained in
a membership system(Marketing Promotion Strategy, no date). One of the
qualifications of luxury goods is that only people of the top drawer, who are the main
consumers of the brand, should know the brand or their products. If the brand or
items are exposed to the public, their already existing main consumers will leave due
to the fact that the items they buy are no more rare and they cannot be the envy of
others anymore. This leads to the fall of brand value and this explains why luxury
brands do not make themselves exposed to the public by advertising through
magazines. Another evidence that luxury brands use differentiated advertising media
is that there is a difference in maintaining vip consumers. While common brands
advertise online or through text messages due to the development of communications
technology, luxury brands still use traditional advertising method, which is direct
mail(Finocchiaro 14). By providing information about new products or sale to
consumers who have enough income to buy luxury items and to the ones who use
luxury brands often, consumers feel satisfied that they belong to the prestigious
group and get to feel that they are worth being treated in that kind of special way
from luxury brands(The attraction of direct mail | Tangent Snowball, no date).
Besides, direct mail make consumers see and feel the high value of the brand and the
products with classy quality of the mail(Finocchiaro 15). Using differentiated
advertising media, luxury brands not only enhace the value of themselves but also
enhance the value of their consumers so that they can manage their customers with
hugh income.
Essay about Refuting Objections to Direct Realism
Refuting Objections to Direct Realism
Introduction
Realism is the form of perception in which it is believed that there is an external
world outside of our own minds. It is the belief that regardless of what we may belief
is true of false, the external world is independent of these beliefs. There are two
forms of realism which are direct and indirect. In this essay I will argue that direct
realism is a more plausible theory of perception than indirect realism by refuting the
main arguments against direct realism. I will begin by briefly describing direct and
indirect realism and follow with countering two of the main arguments indirect
realists use against direct realists.
Direct Realism vs. Indirect Realism
Direct Realism is the belief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
P3: It is not possible to perceive all of an object at once, only a section of its exterior
surface.
C: We do not directly perceive material objects and therefore direct realism is false.
The issue with this argument lies within the second premise which claims that in
order to perceive an object, all parts must be observed at once. This claim is invalid
as perceiving an object does not require all parts to be observed as once just as
reading a book does not require all pages to be read at once or visiting friends does
not require all friends to be visited at once. In the direct perception of an object we
do not see the whole object, however only a section. It is correct that we may not
recognise or identify the object we are perceiving, however it is not true that in
doing this we are not in fact directly perceiving the section of the object exposed for
observation. There is no reason to assume that direct perception does not occur
unless every angle and layer of the object in question is observed and therefore the
partial character of perception argument is invalid.
The Argument from Hallucination
A second argument against direct realism, which is most commonly used, is the
argument from hallucination, as follows ;
P1: Tom sees a green tree
P2: Tom is hallucinating there is no green tree
P3: The tree that Tom sees is not an external material object
P4: The hallucination is extremely detailed and exactly resembles, is identical to, a

Essay about A Summary of Beowulf
Beowulf begins with a history of the great Danish King Scyld (whose funeral is
described in the Prologue). King Hrothgar, Scyld s great grandson, is well loved
by his people and successful in war. He builds a lavish hall, called Heorot, to house
his vast army, and when the hall is finished, the Danish warriors gather under its
roof to celebrate. Grendel, a monster who lives at the bottom of a nearby mere, is
provoked by the singing and celebrating of Hrothgar s followers. He appears at the
hall late one night and kills thirty of the warriors in their sleep. For the next twelve
years, the fear of Grendel s fury casts a shadow over the lives of the Danes. Hrothgar
and his advisors can think of nothing to calm the monster s anger.... Show more

He tears off the monster s arm at the shoulder, but Grendel escapes, only to die soon
afterward at the bottom of his snake infested mere. The Danish warriors, who have
fled the hall in fear, return singing songs in praise of Beowulf s triumph. Hrothgar
rewards Beowulf with a great store of treasures. After another banquet, the warriors of
both the Geats and the Danes retire for the night.
Unknown to the warriors, however, Grendel s mother is plotting revenge (see
Grendel s Mother s Attack ). She arrives at the hall when all the warriors are
sleeping and carries off Aeschere, Hrothgar s chief advisor along with her son s
claw. (Click here to see the infamous claw!) Beowulf offers to dive to the bottom of
the lake, find the monster and destroy her. He and his men follow the monster s
tracks to the cliff overlooking the lake where Grendel s mother lives. They see
Aeschere s bloody head sitting on the cliff. While preparing for battle, Beowulf asks
Hrothgar to protect his warriors, and to send his treasures to his uncle, King Hygelac,
if he doesn t return safely.
Before Beowulf goes into the sea, Unferth offers him his sword, Hrunting. During
the ensuing battle Grendel s mother carries Beowulf to her underwater home. After
a terrible fight, Beowulf kills the monster with a magical sword, probably put there
by the Al Weilder, that he finds on the wall of her home. He also finds Grendel s
dead body, cuts off the head, and returns to
Galileo Galilei During The Scientific Revolution
Galileo once stated, All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the
point is to discover them. Galileo Galilei was a well known astronomer and scientist
during the Scientific Revolution, a time period where thought and reason the old

a major contribution to astronomy, Galileo proved the heliocentric theory, a theory
which stated that the sunwas the center of the universeand all objects moved around

attended the University of Pisa as a medical student and soon became fascinated with
mathematics and physics and was exposed to the Aristotelian view of the world,
which at that time, he did support. In 1604, he refined his theories on motion and
falling objects, and developed the universal law of acceleration, X=гЂ–atгЂ—^2,
which all objects obeyed. That same year, Galileo began to openly express his
support of the Copernican theory that stated that the earth and the planets revolved
around the sun. In 1610, he published a small booklet, The Starry Messenger,
revealing his discoveries that the moon was not flat and smooth, but a sphere with
mountains and craters. In addition, Galileo discovered that Venus had phases like
the moon, proving that it rotated around the sun, and Jupiter had revolving moons,
which didn t revolve around the earth. For the next couple of decades, Galileo
published Discourse on Bodies in Water and Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief

Perception Is Not Reality
Perception is not reality for many reasons. We are living in a virtual reality age of
time in our lives so if we know something you will believe what you know. I think
because of all the technology that we can use like video editing you can make
some that are fake and make it look like it is real. This trick us into believing things
that are not real. If you think that seeing is believing some things can distort how
we look at things from our view. In one of the images in the story on page 79 of,

Why Do Schools Play An Important Role In The Nazis
Burning...
Nazis believed that books were subversive. Any book that opposed the ideals of
Nazism were burned. On May 10,1933 more than 25,000 books were burned.
(Secondary Solutions page 11) Censorship took the Jews by storm in many different
forms: censorship of books in schools, the burning of books throughout Germany, and
the domination of ordinary citizens lives. By doing all these things Nazis felt they
were in control.
The Nazis wanted to take control of everyone and everything. For the Nazis to set
this plan in motion they had to start at the root of the problem , which were the
schools. Schools played an important role in the spreading of Nazi ideas. Almost all
the books were removed from classrooms by censors. Newly written textbooks were

The Vivoactive is the first smartwatch launched by Garmin, a company that

you identify your needs and if the Garmin fitness tracker suits them.
Description
First of all, let s take a look at some of the product s specs. When you buy a Garmin
Vivoactive GPS Smartwatch from Amazon, you can choose between the one that
monitors your heart beat and the Smartwatch that doesn t. Both are the exact same
when it comes to all of the other features of this fitness monitor. So it s up to you, but
in my opinion the health tracker that monitors your heart beat is better.
With this Garmin device, you can track most of the different sports that you practice

Biography of the Seventh Earl of Shaftesbury
The Seventh Earl of Shaftesbury was pre eminently a figure of Victorian England,
and therefore needs to be understood within the historical context of his times. This
includes what is, perhaps, the most salient motivating factor in Shaftesbury s great
accomplishments in social reform and philanthropy his religion. Christianityin
Victorian England was, above all else, Christianity in crisis. Those with a shallow
sense of history will generally point to the publication of Darwin s Origin of
Species in 1859 as if that were enough to sum up the crisis of Christianity in this
time period but in reality there were massive social changes taking place in England
during this time. After all, it was before Darwin that the Victorian poet and social
critic Matthew Arnold wrote his famous poetic complaint about the decline of belief
in England, Dover Beach :
The Sea of Faith
Was once, too, at the full, and round earth s shore
Lay like the folds of a bright girdle furl d.
But now I only hear
Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar... (Arnold 214)
In Shaftesbury s lifetime, Christianity s social message was particularly endangered.
The Industrial Revolution had begun in the period immediately preceding the
Victorian era, and continued with remorseless rapidity throughout the Victorian
period: this had led to massive inequalities of wealth, combined with the total erosion
of traditional ways of life in the rural period, causing the displaced poor to move to
cities. Shaftesbury s
Teen Activism
NTRODUCTION We live in a world that is in need of change. Many of us have
strong opinions about things, including teens. These teens speak out about what
they believe in, in order to make the world a better place. These people are called
teen activist. In this essay, you will learn about what teen activism, the examples
of Malala Yousafzai, Abby Reiman, and Zea Tongeman, and you will also learn
what I would do if I were a teen activist. So keep reading and enjoy! What is teen
activism? Now you re probably wondering, what is teen activism anyway? Well,
teen activism is when young people express themselves in order to make a change
for the better. For example, think of Malala Yousafzai. Since I will be writing
about her next, I won t go into full on detail mode. Anywho, she started a fund
called the Malala Fund to help kids, but especially girls to be able to have an
education. Now that you know what teen activism is, let s look at some teen
activist. Malala Yousafzai Malala Yousafzai is a pakistani schoolgirl. When she
was little, she didn t get to go to school, because in her country, girls weren t
allowed to go to school. But, she went anyway. Soon enough, she was targeted by
the Taliban. When she was 12 years old, she was on her way home from school,
when she was shot in the head. Luckily for her, the bullet didn t touch her brain.
After 5 hours of surgery, she was almost better. I say almost because she was
paralyzed in the left side of her face. After this whole
Personal Values, Beliefs, And Attitudes
Introduction As human beings, we all have our own values, beliefs, and attitudes.
These things develop over the course of our lifetime and at any point can change
based on an experience that we may have. Our family, friends, community and the
experiences we have had all contribute to our sense of who we are and how we
view the world.Values, Beliefs, and a Little About Me Over the course of my life
my values have changed based on circumstance. Currently if I had to list out my
top five values in descending order they would be: religion, family, education,
country, and culture. I value religion first and foremost because of my beliefs
system that has been instilled in me since I was a child. If you place God first in
your life, then everything else will work itself out , is something my Grandfather
has always told me. Family is something that doesn t necessarily come first, but is a
very high value to me. I identify as being a very caring father and husband, the
protector, and head of my household. My family has always been supportive of my
decisions. They have influenced me to always give my best at everything and to
persevere when I fail. Education is the new value that has began to take a
precedence in my life. Education is the bridge to success that I am striving to succeed
at. Without education I cannot properly attend to my family s needs. The time
demand of education also puts it very high on my values list because it warrants the
majority of my attention.
Pliny The Patrician Upper Class
Leisure as a concept is not easy to define, and is subject to differing opinions and
class structure. Where a working class person may define leisure as a way to
display wealth, conversely, the upper class may simply view leisure as a means of
having free time away from the demands of work or duties. In Ancient times, leisure
was possible, due to the work of slaves and poorer citizens (Price, 2008 p 10).
Whilst leisure has always been associated as a pursuit for the wealthy, in the19th
century with the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, and the development of the
railway, this began to change. The working classes had more disposable income, and
the opportunity to travel cheaply and experience freedom from work (Price, 2008 p

The Role Of Non Verbal Communication On Intercultural...
Introduction
With the development of cultural organisation, the intercultural communication has
become more ligual and more significant than ever before (Wang, 2007). As an
international language, English has played an prominent role in making the
communication easy between two people with different cultural backgrounds. As a
result, the EFL education has concluded the communicative sufficiency as one of the
important goals of English as Foreign Language teaching. It seems that intercultural
communication will be a successful, as long as the speaker has achieved high
qualification in the enlish languag. As it is shown in many studies that the failure in
understandings in intercultural communication are largely based by the
miscommunication of nonverbal behaviours (Arasaratnam Banerjee, 2007; Ma,
1996). It is, therefore, significant to reach the awareness of the nonverbal
communication in the accessment of intercultural communication.
NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION This study goal is to examine the role of non
verbal communication in intercultural communication.particular,ly the study
identifies the importance of understanding and using non verbal behaviour in living
and study in an English speaking country. Moreover, the research reveals some
difficulties that participants have encountered when they communicate intercultural.
These difficulties further suggest the need of incorporating skills of nonverbal

Gravity Vs. To Build A Fire
Andrei Cozma
Gravity
Gravity is a science fiction movie directed by Alfonso CuarГіn, having as central
themes the fragility, vulnerability of the humans facing the harsh, ruthless outer
space, as well as mankind s ability to survive and recover from disasters, and after
all, to restart its evolution. Gravity can be compared to Jack London s tale To Build
a Fire transposed into space, a man versus nature story, because Gravity is not a
movie about space, but about the way humans, frail and vulnerable, adapt to it. The
dependence of humans on Earth is also depicted in The World Below the Brine . The
astronauts are ambitious characters far away from Earth and from everything that

The concept of mankind s ability to rebirth and continue its evolution are presented
in many scenes in the movie. A suggestive imagery related to the formation of life
is found in the scene where Dr. Stone rests in a position similar to a fetus before
birth. The film ends with an allegory of the emergence of mankind, when Dr. Stone
struggles to get out of the ocean after landing on Earth, looking like a primitive
creature, then grabs the soil with her hands and gradually regains her ability to stand
upright and walk like humans. Another imagery, related to Creation, is the
breathtakingly beautiful sunrise shown by the astronauts over the Earth. These
imageries have been included in the movie to convey a couple of messages to the
public in an artistic manner. The filmmakers tried to emphasize that Earth is a
marvelous place, the Garden of Eden for humankind, warm and protective compared
to the harsh, dangerous space, and they also tried to induce confidence in humans
ability to recover and to restart its evolution after a potential
Nursing Mobility And Safety
Mobility and safety are two nursing topics that are very related. Safety is the key to
ensure that the patient can remain mobile. It is important that the patient has ways to
move around without fear of falling. It is also imperative that the patient knows how
to move safely and use mobility devices. The nurse needs to understand how these
two topics go together to ensure that the patient will remained unharmed at the
hospital and in the home. As stated earlier, safetyis so important to make sure that
patient keeps their mobility. The surroundings need to be safe to prevent falls.
When falls are prevented, the patient remains mobile. One safety precautions to
ensure that falls do not happen is to have a clear area for the patient to be able to
walk around. This means not having objects in their pathway or rugs in their
walkway. Having these objects in the way can cause the patient to have a fall. Having

There might be certain movements that can affect mobility in the future or could re

reasons their mobility must be restricted while it heals. When they do the surgery,
they cut through muscles and those have to grow back. This will prevent further
injury and the patient will be able to get back their normal mobility after it is healed.
Although there are certain actions that post operation patients cannot do they still

Getting the patient up will prevent blood clots in their legs and promote blood

How did Frederick Douglass throw light on the american slave trade you might

Chris Landreth Documentary
This review will critically analyze and evaluate, Ryan by Chris Landreth and Waltz
with Bashir by Ari Folman, and assess the role of the animated documentaries in the
film world. It will explore the truth and validity in animated documentaries and how
each of the films visually portray the key themes. I will argue that animations can be
valid documentaries, due to their focus on the subjective and unique ways to depict
emotion and mental responses.
Animation is derived from the latin word animare, meaning to give life to (Wells,
1998). Animation is therefore the representation of life, both real and imagined.
Animation can express more than just the physical world (Wells, 1999) therefore
making it a unique way to create a documentary. Animated... Show more content on

By using primary evidence to create the films, there is a suggested basis of truth.
Each of these films treat the interviews in different ways. Folman uses the
interviews to further his own story to evoke the memories he has repressed. In
contrast, Landreth uses them to reflect more directly on his own personal
experience. This is first seen in Waltz with Bashir through Folman s first epiphany
in which he has his first flashback to the war. Likewise this is first seen in Ryan
when Landreth asks Larking to give up alcohol. The montage of photos that follow
Larkin s angry outburst at this suggestion reveals that Landreth s mother also had
an alcohol addiction, which caused her death. A black substance covers the old
photos of Landreth s mother and increases to cover the photos as as she ages. At
this point, we gain greater insight into Landreth s personal contribution to the story
and how it has affected the production of the film. Landreth clearly relates his own
experience of the disease to Larkin s situation. This personal connection is also seen
at the end of the film when Larkin in seen begging on the street. Landreth appears
across the street, looking more abstracted like Larkin. This change in physical
appearance indicates a new understanding of himself which resulted from his meeting
with Larkin. Landreth believes that we don t see things as they are but we
Socio-political evaluation of the Iranian Revolution of...
The intensity of the Iranian revolution of 1978 1979 and the suddenness with which
it appeared surprised many people both in Iran itself and in the rest of the world.
The Shah s autocratic political system was solid, his loyal army was strong. Iran had
a thriving economy and a wealthy middle class. Why did, then, Irango through an
Islamic state? How and why the traditional Shi`i ulama in particular, came to lead the
opposition to the Shah in the late 1970s?
The Shah ultimately lost his throne because his policies had frustrated and alienated
nearly all sectors of Iranian society including the emerging middle class, the bazaaris,
the peasants, the working class, the urban poor and the ulama. During the

The power of the ulama increased during the Qajar era. As the Safavid power
declined in the seventeenth century however, some of the ulama began to deny the
religious legitimacy of the Shah s power, and to claim that the Mujtahids had a better
right to rule. (Keddie, 1972,p.221).
This can be seen as the beginning of a new era in state ulama relations and indicate
that the ulama found themselves drawn increasingly into a political role. The
weakness of the Qajar rule in the face of increasing European power and its
decentralization left many important powers in the hands of the ulama virtually all
education, most legal, welfare and charitable matters. (Keddie, 1981,p.24). In the late
Qajar period state absorption of (awqaf) and private appropriation of endowments
constituted major themes in Land relations (Akhavi, 1980,p.56). Accordingly, the
ulama began to participate, to commit themselves, in the strictly political arena. Their
opposition took the two forms of legal and constitutional protest, and direct
involvement of religious leader in demonstrations, strikes, taking sanctuary, etc. The
first form of protest, which can be seen as the most notable case, was the Tobacco
revolt of 1891. At the same time, a group of traditional urban middle class (the
bazaaris) have participated in this event. The Pahlavi shahs viewed the bazaar as an
impediment to the modern society that they wished to
How Women Are Treated in India
In many parts of the world females still have very little rights. Indeed, equality
between men and women have been accepted by the majority of the developed
countries, but developing countries still struggle to see women as equals to men, and
India is one of the worst. Currently, the Indian National Congress Party is only 10%
female, limiting the say women get. In India, women are definitely not seen as equals
to men are being treated like second rate citizens. It also really says something
about the inequality in a country when its women are so used to being treated
badly most of them do not even recognize that they have rights. In India, men were
always valued more than women, which is why an estimated ten million female
foetuses are aborted every year. The lack of females in areas leads to crimes like
human trafficking for sexual reasons like giving birth to more children. Old
traditions and beliefs are the main reasons to why millions of female foetuses are
aborted every year, but it is also the reason behind bride burning, another serious
issue in India.
Bride burning, also known as dowry death occurs quite frequently in India. It is
when the husband or the in laws decide that the dowry the bride offers is not
enough and demands more. If the bride refuses or is financially not able to increase
her dowry, she is tortured until she either agrees or dies; otherwise she is murdered
by her family . The husbands and the in laws usually disguise the deaths as accidents

Why Is The Summer Of The Beautiful White Horse Crazy
The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse(Essay)
Do you think Mourad is crazy, I feel there is evidence to prove that he is but ways I
could defend him for his decisions. After all he is merely a child, correct? Do you
think that you should just be quiet about your problems and let them go? Again with
Mourad there are many good reasons that you should, but some situations it s not a
very logical decision, and I will be explaining why in this essay.
In a way I feel Mourad is crazy, mostly because of how he answers questions and the
ways he thinks. He thought that he did not steal the horse but simply borrowed it
without permission for a long period of time. He also thought that it was okay to lie
to the farmer to buy them time to ride it more, even when inspected he denied it, and
thought that fooling an uneducated person was a good idea. ... Show more content on

I myself as a teenager would know that sometimes we make some odd decisions
and wonder why in the world we did what we did. Well near the end of the story he
does feel some sympathy and starts to realize that what he did was wrong, so
maybe he isn t crazy. I do however feel that the people in the story have it all wrong
in a sense, people nowadays always try to find new ways to communicate with
animals, and he is just naturally gifted with the art of taming animals. So he might
not be crazy, but a kind of genius people never thought to think
Locke Qualities
Locke has determined two was of classify thing qualities of objects that enable
ideas. Primary and secondary qualities by which ideas are understood and observed
through perception and sensation they invoke in the observer. The mind is the
ultimate decider of sensation the observe feels with certain objects. Berkeley has a
different opinion from Locke where he has good reason to believe Locke is wrong.
Hume agrees with some thing of both Locke and Berkeley on the topic of qualities.
Ideas and qualities are two different things according to Locke. Locke means by idea
is the object of thought; mental entities that exist in our mind. Locke defines qualities
as power to produce ideas in our mind. Locke argues that perception causes ideas and

This shows the secondary quality such as hot and cold are within the mid because it
can cause one hand to feel cold and another hand to feel heat. Berkeley states that
primary qualities like texture or shape can be affect the mind as well and provide
sensations. Since an object can appear different to different people so how could we
distinguish between primary and secondary qualities? At different position one can
perceive different from someone else at another position.
Hume agrees with Locke that perception is the foundation of our ideas but
disagrees with the distinction of primary and secondary qualities. He agrees with
Berkeley that there is no proofs that can show how one is suppose to distinguish
between primary and secondary qualities of perception. For Hume knowledge is
limited to simple impressions and simple ideas. He distinguishes between impression
and ideas: impressions are the lively, first hand perception, of something internal or
external. Ideas are less lively, occur when we reflect on previous impressions we have
Research Paper On The Tempest
The Tempest: A Case Study for Machiavellian Political Theories
In Shakespeare s The Tempest, the main character Prospero is an ideal candidate for
examining power structures. Prospero resides as the political tyrant on the island,
instating power over all of the inhabitants. His reign, while all encompassing on the
island, is perceived differently in respect to each individual being subjugated.
Prospero fails in retaining power over both Miranda and Caliban, but both for
different reasons. Miranda strays from Prospero s will because her love for him
outweighed her fear, while Caliban loathed Prospero to the point where his hatred
served as a vehicle for his revolt. While both of these examples could merely reveal
Prospero s failure at achieving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Miranda proves to be the imbalance between fear and love. She clearly falls
subordinate to Prospero throughout The Tempest, best displayed by when Prospero
finds himself tired of conversing with her and forces her into sleep saying though
art inclined to sleep. Tis a good dullness (Shakespeare 1.2. 185). It is blatantly clear
through their dialogue that Miranda adores Prospero. This adoration originally
contributes to Prospero s power over Miranda, but it eventually withers and
ultimately validates Machiavelli s argument that love is not as essential as fear.
Miranda easily sways from Prospero s will upon the introduction of Ferdinand.
She proclaims, I ll be his surety (Shakespeare 1.2. 478), referring to Ferdinand thus
aligning herself against Prospero and further distancing herself from his rule. This
shift in loyalty follows Machiavelli s argument that it is far easier to betray a leader
whom you love than one you fear. Miranda s betrothal to Ferdinand is a clear
indicator of Prospero s failure to instill

Essay On Women Impowerment. Write an essay on Women Empowerment English Essay Writing - YouTube

  • 1. Essay On Women Impowerment Writing an essay on the topic of women empowerment is both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not in the scarcity of information or lack of resources, but rather in the complexity and sensitivity of the subject matter. Addressing women's empowerment requires a deep understanding of historical contexts, cultural nuances, and the multifaceted nature of gender dynamics. One must navigate through a myriad of perspectives, from feminist theories to real-world examples of successful empowerment initiatives. The essay demands a careful balance of statistical data, personal narratives, and theoretical frameworks. Additionally, it requires a nuanced exploration of the challenges faced by women in different socio-economic, cultural, and geographical contexts. Furthermore, the writer must be adept at weaving together a compelling narrative that captures the essence of women's struggles and triumphs without oversimplifying or generalizing the experiences of diverse groups. It is essential to remain sensitive to the intersectionality of issues related to gender, considering how factors such as race, class, and ethnicity intersect with and impact women's empowerment. Moreover, the essay should not merely highlight the problems but also propose meaningful solutions and advocate for positive change. This involves delving into policy discussions, grassroots movements, and the role of education and economic opportunities in fostering empowerment. In conclusion, writing an essay on women empowerment demands not only research and analytical skills but also empathy and a commitment to amplifying the voices of those who have been marginalized. It is a journey that requires a thoughtful exploration of complex issues, a dedication to justice, and a genuine passion for creating a more equitable society. • 2. Katherine Cross Argument Analysis Katherine Cross is a strong believer that the game PokГ©mon Go, that was the most popular game to hit the web recently needs some sort of boundaries that the users must obey by. She definitely gains credibility by bringing in some quotes from different authors. She supports her argument that less developed areas do not have the same luxuries for this gameas the more fortunate areas by citing other authors like Christopher Huffaker who said in his article that black neighborhoods and rural areas have fewer PokГ©mon Go locations (Huffaker). Bringing inequality as an issue in her article that is going to cause an argument for society. She is going to gain a lot of support on her argument because people in those areas can argue that even though they aren t as wealthy as other places in society, they should still get the same benefits to this game as everyone else. Katherine does a good job at arguing both sides of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Katherine arranges her text to put different negative impacts on her audience s emotions to really show that bad things are happening. She brings up one topic while also including a paragraph about stalking, another about robbing, and one about fighting because of trash talking. By shedding light on all these problems with a game like this is going to get more readers to agree with her since what is happening is illegal and sad. Crime has been linked to this game specifically and unless something is done to add some rules, nothing is going to change about the crime rate. Cross also points out some good features of the game in her article. So far, it seems like the physical nature of PokГ©mon Go helps tamp down the harassment that might otherwise occur if the game took place in a purely online space (Cross). Although she mentions some good aspects about this game, you can clearly tell she believes that this game is still doing more harm than
  • 3. A Social Class System There is no way to deny that a social class system exists that divides people by general popularity. Once children begin school, they begin to separate into these divisions. The top of the social ladder, often considered to be people who are cool, are stereotyped to be beautiful and happy. Although in some cases this may be true, it is not always that way. Misconceptions about popularity lead to a greater divide amongst the social classes, and cause those in the lower social levels to be considered as or to feel as if they are inferior. Articles like one written by Christian McBride, entitled Be Cool, published in This I Believe II, continue to develop the false ideology that one must be popular in order to live a full, happy life. McBride believes that, Being cool is not what you say or do, but how you say or do it, (McBride 160) and due to the fact that, ... I sleep well at night, and work with people who apparently like to work with me, (McBride, 158) he is cool himself. A musician by trade, McBride works in a unique environment compared to the large majority of American citizens. According to Business Insider, as of April 2014, musician is not even one of the top ten most common jobs in the United States; with the top three most common including retail salespersons, cashiers, and food preparation and serving workers, (Weisenthal). The fact that his co workers apparently enjoy working with him, would imply that every single person in the top three most common
  • 4. Physical Development Of Children Essay This topic considers what the physical development of children in middle childhood (6 10) is, and how their physical needs in the learning environment can be accommodated. The key elements taken into consideration would be the development of motor skills for the selected age group and the influences of the specified group. The benefits of physical activity and the consequences of prolonged inactivity, how a student s development can be facilitated or restricted through development in other areas with the use of physical activity and issues of health and well being in the learning environment to accommodate or support the physical needs and development of the students in the specified age group. It is stated by McInerney McInerney that Overemphasis on one type of developmental readiness such as reading readiness, for example may preclude learners from demonstrating that they are more capable in other areas of performance (McInerney, D.M McInerney, V. 2002) Therefore the same theory would apply to a student having physical developmental readiness. Through physical activity students grow their motor skills and enables them to utilise them in learning environments such as the class room. In kindergarten students the motor skills would be a lot less developed that that if a year 6 student, so when planning a physical activity this needs to be taken into account. The benefits of implementing physical activity into the curriculum of students are not only a valuable asset to the students health and well being, but also to their learning development. Physical activity promotes healthy growth and development of the cardio respiratory system, enabling oxygen to travel throughout their bodies helping with healthy muscle and bone growth in children. Physical activity also promotes social health benefits in children giving them more confidence and vital social skills development Our Bodies and our brains are adapted to regular exercise, and they do not function well without it (Aamodt, S Wang, S 2011 Pg 136). In order to pay for the expenses of the war several taxation acts and military presence were implemented such as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Currency Act, Quartering Act and the presence of British troops at the colonies. Consequently, Americans who thought these actions violated their political and constitutional liberties opposed these policies with petitions, boycotts, and resistance strategies known as the Imperial Crisis. In January 1776 Thomas Paine s Common Sense was composed to convince Americans of the need for independence from British rule and establishment of democracy. This pamphlet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He argues that a democratic system based on continual elections and rights of the people protected by a written constitution would be more beneficial to society. To strengthen the concept of democracy, Paine speaks of a hypothetical society brought up in an isolated part of the world, away from other inhabitants. This supposed society represented the first people. Thomas Paine claims that some of its people will have many accomplishments other will not; thus through hunger, disease, misfortune and death it is inevitable that the people will set up some form of government that ...will establish a common interest with every part of the community, they will mutually and naturally support each other, and on this (not on the unmeaning name of king) depends the strength of government, and the happiness of the governed (Thomas Paine, Common Sense). This statement reassures his beliefs towards democracy while showing how pointless English rule is to society. Thomas Paine is attempting to promote American independence with this document by explaining the benefits of democracy, in doing so he is demeaning the English government. Paine emphasizes the prejudices the English may have had by stating, And as a man, who is attached to a prostitute, is unfitted to choose

This is an exciting pattern for freedom, movement, change, diversity and variety. One 5 is pleasant because it brings in the qualities of the five pointed star or pentagram. This is a visual of man/woman with arms stretched out into all corners of the biosphere and the heavens. Man/woman is represented as the microcosm of the macrocosm within the 5 pattern. Essentially, this pattern brings in the free flowing ability to traverse all old ideologies set up within humanity and make certain there is evolution as man/woman living as an interconnected organism in the flow of life. Consequently, one 5 can represent the rebel as it does so with Jungarian archetypes. What if a person had more than one five within their own being? What if the person had multiple 5 s that turn into a spiral of energy? Firstly, we have to see the 5 Pentad is a Sacred Geometrical pattern that exists to create order round this energy. The 5

After that point, I would read anything I could get my hands on that was my level. I also wrote, but not as much as I read. Magazines, the backs of cereal boxes, even the little books my mom would buy me. I remember my mom telling me stop writingin your books, you ll ruin them, after that, I made sure to keep a pencil and paper with me in case I felt like I wanted to write. In addition to reading and writing in my books, I would sit with my sister after she had checked out her books from the library at the school she attended. I d wait until she finished, and then get her books and read as much as I could. The books she had checked that I had been really fond of would have to be the Clifford the Big Red Dog and Junie B Jones series. On 7 August 1942 American forces landed on the islands of Guadalcanal, Tulagi, and Florida in the southern Solomon Islands with the objective of denying their use by the Japanese to threaten the supply and communication routes between the US, Australia, and New Zealand. The Allies also intended to use Guadalcanal and Tulagi as bases to support a campaign to eventually capture or neutralize the major Japanese base at Rabal on New Britain ( Battle of Guadalcanal ). Powerful United States naval forces had supported the landings. Surprised by the Allied offensive, the Japanese made several attempts between August and November 1942 to retake Henderson Field. Three major land battles, seven large naval battles, and continual, almost daily aerial battles culminated in the decisive Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in early November 1942, in which the last

Importantly it has nearly everything a resident might want, beautiful picturesque scenery, proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural centers. Nevertheless the roads can be some of the most congested in town, and the streets are not safe to walk late at night. Fortunately, I wake every morning to the most beautiful sunlit house. I can see the bones of an age past; still standing before me to mourn, and dream about. I live in a grouping of villas where a restaurant and pool facilities are being constructed. I smell fresh sawn mahogany as the carpenters make bars, counters, and doors. I hear stone masons chipping at tiles, and the scraping sounds as they pull out the mortar to lay them. Sometimes in the morning I pull on running sneakers and jog down to Kmart to grab some household items. Then I might bop over to AT T to pay my cell phone escaping the crowds and long lines that form later in the day. The bank tellers are also so much nicer in the morning before rude customers have agitated and frustrated them. On Sundays my family and I take in concerts and shows for free. We sit on the lawn that adorns the hill behind our house which overlooks the Center for Performing Arts. She has been suffering for long being socially, politically as well as financially marginalised. In simple terms a woman in Indian society is deprived of opportunities and freedom to go with her own preferences and choices and thus marginalised at every front. This is usually done by filling out a questionnaire. At this point in time, the student has already endured a full term of a professor. If the professor is doing a horrible or unfair job, the student is forced to endure this without any relief. Not only does this affect the student s drive to learn, but also his ability to learn. Having a poor professor hinders the student s learning capabilities. When this happens, the student has usually forgotten most of what he learned by the end of the term. This makes a total waste of time and money. As for medieval times, the student guilds began to have enormous power during the 13th century. Students could discharge professors that did not meet the specifications of a good professor. The students only had to refuse to attend the classes. Professors of this time also had to pledge allegiance to a guild. The guild would provide the professor s salary. Professors were dependent to the students and had to receive permission from the students for any changes. Holidays and beginning and duration time of lectures were decided by the student guilds. With the passage of time, guilds began to structure the curriculum, and the time duration of each subject. A fine would be imposed if the professor omitted material or went over the designated duration time of lectures. The student guilds were kept informed of a professor s behavior and incompetence and would discipline the professor

For example, bullying is a risk factor for school shootings. In a research study done in 2001 of 37 school shootings, it was reported that 75% of the school shooters felt bullied, threatened, or injured by others in which most of the shooters in the report had experienced long term bullying and harassment from their peers (Duplechain Morris, 2014). In addition, the authors do state: School personnel too often accept that children get teased and bullied every day, because teachers, parents, students, and other adults have grown up thinking that bullying is a normal part of school life. It has easily become an accepted part of today s school culture (Ibid, 2014). The authors believe that schools view bullying as something that students should get used to. This does show how bullying is an issue in schools. It is not solely to blame in regards to school shootings, but is a risk factor for them. Relationships and past traumas are risk factors for school shootings (Duplechain Morris, 2014). The author states in regards to relationships and school shootings The lack of attachment with their parents or caregivers at the beginning of their life to some of the school shooters. Sueng Hui Cho, who was the shooter of the Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007 suffered from this kind of risk factor. Cho did not communicate with his parents or those around him (Ibid,

This industry works on the basis of subcontracting, where designers place orders with manufacturers who then hire sub contractor to complete their orders. Since this industry is highly competitive subcontractor are given only take or leave option with often less payment compared to amount of work which forces them to resort to employing cheap labor in their own workshops which often end up resembling sweat shops. Advantages Of Luxury Brands According to a study conducted by Brain Company, the number of luxury consumers has increased dramatically from 90 million to 330 million over the past 20 years(Arpizio, no date). Since Roman Times, people have been using luxury items and they have become more prestigious and valuable over time than they actually are due to their unique and different marketing and advertisements. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While regular brands use advertising media such as billboard, public transportation, radio, flyers, and etc to make their products exposed to as many people as possible, luxury brands usually use magazines to promote their items and this is maintained in a membership system(Marketing Promotion Strategy, no date). One of the qualifications of luxury goods is that only people of the top drawer, who are the main consumers of the brand, should know the brand or their products. If the brand or items are exposed to the public, their already existing main consumers will leave due to the fact that the items they buy are no more rare and they cannot be the envy of others anymore. This leads to the fall of brand value and this explains why luxury brands do not make themselves exposed to the public by advertising through magazines. Another evidence that luxury brands use differentiated advertising media is that there is a difference in maintaining vip consumers. While common brands advertise online or through text messages due to the development of communications technology, luxury brands still use traditional advertising method, which is direct mail(Finocchiaro 14). By providing information about new products or sale to consumers who have enough income to buy luxury items and to the ones who use luxury brands often, consumers feel satisfied that they belong to the prestigious group and get to feel that they are worth being treated in that kind of special way from luxury brands(The attraction of direct mail | Tangent Snowball, no date). Besides, direct mail make consumers see and feel the high value of the brand and the products with classy quality of the mail(Finocchiaro 15). Using differentiated advertising media, luxury brands not only enhace the value of themselves but also enhance the value of their consumers so that they can manage their customers with hugh income.

Essay about Refuting Objections to Direct Realism Refuting Objections to Direct Realism Introduction Realism is the form of perception in which it is believed that there is an external world outside of our own minds. It is the belief that regardless of what we may belief is true of false, the external world is independent of these beliefs. There are two forms of realism which are direct and indirect. In this essay I will argue that direct realism is a more plausible theory of perception than indirect realism by refuting the main arguments against direct realism. I will begin by briefly describing direct and indirect realism and follow with countering two of the main arguments indirect realists use against direct realists. Direct Realism vs. Indirect Realism Direct Realism is the belief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... P3: It is not possible to perceive all of an object at once, only a section of its exterior surface. C: We do not directly perceive material objects and therefore direct realism is false. The issue with this argument lies within the second premise which claims that in order to perceive an object, all parts must be observed at once. This claim is invalid as perceiving an object does not require all parts to be observed as once just as reading a book does not require all pages to be read at once or visiting friends does not require all friends to be visited at once. In the direct perception of an object we do not see the whole object, however only a section. It is correct that we may not recognise or identify the object we are perceiving, however it is not true that in doing this we are not in fact directly perceiving the section of the object exposed for observation. There is no reason to assume that direct perception does not occur unless every angle and layer of the object in question is observed and therefore the partial character of perception argument is invalid. The Argument from Hallucination A second argument against direct realism, which is most commonly used, is the argument from hallucination, as follows ; P1: Tom sees a green tree P2: Tom is hallucinating there is no green tree P3: The tree that Tom sees is not an external material object P4: The hallucination is extremely detailed and exactly resembles, is identical to, a true

After another banquet, the warriors of both the Geats and the Danes retire for the night. Unknown to the warriors, however, Grendel s mother is plotting revenge (see Grendel s Mother s Attack ). She arrives at the hall when all the warriors are sleeping and carries off Aeschere, Hrothgar s chief advisor along with her son s claw. (Click here to see the infamous claw!) This includes what is, perhaps, the most salient motivating factor in Shaftesbury s great accomplishments in social reform and philanthropy his religion. Christianityin Victorian England was, above all else, Christianity in crisis. Those with a shallow sense of history will generally point to the publication of Darwin s Origin of Species in 1859 as if that were enough to sum up the crisis of Christianity in this time period but in reality there were massive social changes taking place in England during this time. After all, it was before Darwin that the Victorian poet and social critic Matthew Arnold wrote his famous poetic complaint about the decline of belief in England, Dover Beach : The Sea of Faith Was once, too, at the full, and round earth s shore Lay like the folds of a bright girdle furl d. But now I only hear Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar... (Arnold 214) In Shaftesbury s lifetime, Christianity s social message was particularly endangered. The Industrial Revolution had begun in the period immediately preceding the Victorian era, and continued with remorseless rapidity throughout the Victorian period: this had led to massive inequalities of wealth, combined with the total erosion of traditional ways of life in the rural period, causing the displaced poor to move to cities. Our family, friends, community and the experiences we have had all contribute to our sense of who we are and how we view the world.Values, Beliefs, and a Little About Me Over the course of my life my values have changed based on circumstance. Currently if I had to list out my top five values in descending order they would be: religion, family, education, country, and culture. I value religion first and foremost because of my beliefs system that has been instilled in me since I was a child. If you place God first in your life, then everything else will work itself out , is something my Grandfather has always told me. Family is something that doesn t necessarily come first, but is a very high value to me. I identify as being a very caring father and husband, the protector, and head of my household. My family has always been supportive of my decisions. They have influenced me to always give my best at everything and to persevere when I fail. Education is the new value that has began to take a precedence in my life. Education is the bridge to success that I am striving to succeed at. Without education I cannot properly attend to my family s needs. The time demand of education also puts it very high on my values list because it warrants the majority of my attention.

This is first seen in Waltz with Bashir through Folman s first epiphany in which he has his first flashback to the war. Currently, the Indian National Congress Party is only 10% female, limiting the say women get. In India, women are definitely not seen as equals to men are being treated like second rate citizens. It also really says something about the inequality in a country when its women are so used to being treated badly most of them do not even recognize that they have rights. In India, men were always valued more than women, which is why an estimated ten million female foetuses are aborted every year. The lack of females in areas leads to crimes like human trafficking for sexual reasons like giving birth to more children. Old traditions and beliefs are the main reasons to why millions of female foetuses are aborted every year, but it is also the reason behind bride burning, another serious issue in India. Bride burning, also known as dowry death occurs quite frequently in India. It is when the husband or the in laws decide that the dowry the bride offers is not enough and demands more. Why Is The Summer Of The Beautiful White Horse Crazy The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse(Essay) Do you think Mourad is crazy, I feel there is evidence to prove that he is but ways I could defend him for his decisions. After all he is merely a child, correct? Do you think that you should just be quiet about your problems and let them go? Again with Mourad there are many good reasons that you should, but some situations it s not a very logical decision, and I will be explaining why in this essay. In a way I feel Mourad is crazy, mostly because of how he answers questions and the ways he thinks. He thought that he did not steal the horse but simply borrowed it without permission for a long period of time. He also thought that it was okay to lie to the farmer to buy them time to ride it more, even when inspected he denied it, and thought that fooling an uneducated person was a good idea. ... Well near the end of the story he does feel some sympathy and starts to realize that what he did was wrong, so maybe he isn t crazy. So he might not be crazy, but a kind of genius people never thought to think

Primary and secondary qualities by which ideas are understood and observed through perception and sensation they invoke in the observer. The mind is the ultimate decider of sensation the observe feels with certain objects. Berkeley has a different opinion from Locke where he has good reason to believe Locke is wrong. Berkeley states that primary qualities like texture or shape can be affect the mind as well and provide sensations. Since an object can appear different to different people so how could we distinguish between primary and secondary qualities? At different position one can perceive different from someone else at another position. Hume agrees with Locke that perception is the foundation of our ideas but disagrees with the distinction of primary and secondary qualities. He agrees with Berkeley that there is no proofs that can show how one is suppose to distinguish between primary and secondary qualities of perception. For Hume knowledge is limited to simple impressions and simple ideas. He distinguishes between impression and ideas: impressions are the lively, first hand perception, of something internal or external. Ideas are less lively, occur when we reflect on previous impressions we have

Research Paper On The Tempest The Tempest: A Case Study for Machiavellian Political Theories In Shakespeare s The Tempest, the main character Prospero is an ideal candidate for examining power structures. Prospero resides as the political tyrant on the island, instating power over all of the inhabitants. Prospero fails in retaining power over both Miranda and Caliban, but both for different reasons. While both of these examples could merely reveal Prospero s failure at achieving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Miranda proves to be the imbalance between fear and love. She clearly falls subordinate to Prospero throughout The Tempest, best displayed by when Prospero finds himself tired of conversing with her and forces her into sleep saying though art inclined to sleep. Tis a good dullness (Shakespeare 1.2. 185). It is blatantly clear through their dialogue that Miranda adores Prospero. This adoration originally contributes to Prospero s power over Miranda, but it eventually withers and ultimately validates Machiavelli s argument that love is not as essential as fear. Miranda easily sways from Prospero s will upon the introduction of Ferdinand. She proclaims, I ll be his surety (Shakespeare 1.2. 478), referring to Ferdinand thus aligning herself against Prospero and further distancing herself from his rule. This shift in loyalty follows Machiavelli s argument that it is far easier to betray a leader whom you love than one you fear. Miranda s betrothal to Ferdinand is a clear indicator of Prospero s failure to instill
