1. Essay Courage
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Courage" presents a unique challenge. Courage itself is a
multifaceted concept, encompassing bravery, resilience, and moral strength, among other
qualities. Pinning down a precise definition and exploring its nuances requires careful
consideration and reflection. Additionally, delving into the various forms and manifestations of
courage throughout history, literature, and personal experiences demands thorough research and
analysis.
Crafting an essay on courage necessitates more than just recounting heroic tales or famous
examples. It requires a deep dive into the psychological, societal, and ethical dimensions of
courage, probing questions such as: What motivates individuals to act courageously? How do
cultural and societal factors influence perceptions of courage? What role does fear play in the
manifestation of courage?
Moreover, writing about courage entails navigating complex philosophical discussions about the
nature of fear, risk, and adversity. It involves exploring the interplay between courage and
vulnerability, as well as the ethical considerations surrounding acts of courage, particularly in
morally ambiguous situations.
Despite its challenges, writing an essay on courage can be immensely rewarding. It provides an
opportunity to inspire readers, challenge assumptions, and provoke meaningful reflection on
what it means to embody courage in an uncertain world.
In conclusion, tackling the topic of courage in an essay requires a blend of intellectual rigor,
empathy, and introspection. It demands a willingness to grapple with difficult questions and
engage with diverse perspectives. Ultimately, the process of writing about courage can be as
enlightening as it is daunting, offering valuable insights into the human condition and the power
of resilience in the face of adversity.

2. The Language Of The English Language Essay
The English language has been the language that most people use in conversations
and in everyday life. According to Carmen Santillana (2013), English is the most
used language in the world, and there are one out of five people that can speak or
understand the English language. There are 53 countries whose main languageis
English. According to a research in the US, it takes 4 7 years or even 10 years for
a student in the US to develop their academic language proficiency (p. 85). Every
country has their own language that is used mostly in conversing. Although Filipinos
are used to using their mother language in casual conversations, English should be
the medium of instruction for world history because it is appropriate, suitable, and
practical. People are used to using their mother language because this is the language
that they are familiar with. The mother language is the language that people use ever
since they were born. It is the language that their parents first used to talk to them.
For some people, their mother language is the most uncomplicated mean in
communicating with their peers. People easily understand each other if it is the
language that they were used to ever since they grew up. If people understand each
other easily, they would not have a hard time in conversing with each other.
Technology has been changing people s lives these days. People wanted everything
to be effortless in terms of all the things that they are doing especially with the words
that
3. Fried Green Tomatoes Film Themes
Universal Studio s Fried Green Tomatoes was welcomed to the big screen on
December 27, 1991. This comedy and drama was directed by Jon Avnet, who made
quite the impact in the business of Hollywood. This New York native of Brooklyn
began his filmmaking career after receiving a Directing Fellowship at the American
FilmInstitute. His greatest success was found as a Producer. However, after
producing a number of different films, such as 1983 s Risky Business , it was
Fried Green Tomatoes that allowed him to return to the director s chair. This
heartwarming work of cinema is known for its remarkable way of telling personal
tales, like Avnet s many other films. Screenplay writers, Fannie Flagg and Carol
Sobieski, collaborated alongside Jon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The KKK is very prevalent in this film, as they are presented as threats to the bond
that the town has found together. It expresses great evil as characters like Frank
Bennett, ex husband to Ruth, stop at nothing to harm everyone he comes in
contact with. While his main goal is to take back what he believes to be his, Ruth
s son, he aims to complete this while on mission with the KKK. He harms many of
Ruth s friends, who are black, to get to the child. He greatly represents the evil
behind racism. On the other side is Idgie, who represents equality. She not only
supports African Americans, but she also works and lives with them. She has
great love for them along with Ruth. Her hate and desire to murder Frank greatly
reveals her opposition towards him and racism. In fact, after Frank was killed, she
was accused of the murder. However, we see later in the end that the film depicts
that love and unity triumphs the evil of racism within the reality that Ruth s friend,
Sipcey, is really the one who successfully murders Frank with only a frying pan.
Many symbols within the film speak for things much greater than how they actually
appear. One of which obviously are the fried green tomatoes. This vegetable dish
serves as symbol between friends in this film. While Ninny tells the story of the
tomatoes that Idgie and Ruth made together, Evelyn ends up making the exact recipe
for Ninny later towards the end, almost solidifying their friendship. Here we see the
tomatoes as a shared connection and taste between two women, across two different
4. Importance Of Becoming A Law Enforcement Officer
If you currently are or will be considering becoming a law enforcement officer you
will hopefully find the following information useful. I will be conveying to you
not only the importance of professional appearance and means you can use to be
more efficient at presenting such an appearance. While representing a state, city or
county a less than professional image as an officer is not acceptable. As a public
servant an officer s appearance is the public s first impression of who you are and
what you represent or stand for. Not caring about your own appearance as a
professional may lead some to assume you do not care about your job. We will
discuss the reasons an officer should take extra pride in their appearance as well as
steps to take that will assist in achieving a more professional appearance. Hopefully
you will consider the advice given to you and make yourself a more professional
looking officer or officer to be.
My first tip or recommendation to a successful appearance in the law enforcement
field is having a clean and fresh pressed uniform with a light starch and a
complimenting bright white undershirt. In order to make this easier on you as an
officer rotate uniforms regularly and keep a schedule for having uniforms dry
cleaned. A four uniform rotation should be substantial for a seven day work week.
Also, as your uniforms become worn out or old replace them as needed. Fabrics
also tend to fade at different rates and severity. The point to take away here is to
5. Team Building, Leadership And Motivation Essay
Team building, Leadership and Motivation
Building the right team with the most appropriate leadership and striving to keep the
team motivated cannot be over estimated in project management. This stage is
initiated from the planning stage. Unlike larger scaled projects that teams are to be
built around the project, our team was built before defining the project, we therefore
had to tap into the strengths of each group member. This was achieved by gauging
the types of contributions made by members during the planning stage, making it
easy to identify what roles specific individuals are best suited to carry out. More so,
significant leadership qualities were identified in individuals within the group. These
included, taking responsibility for initiating work towards the project, taking
responsibility of gathering all team members to initial meetings as well natural co
ordination of group activities.
According to The Management Study guide, Team building refers to the various
activities undertaken to motivate the team members and increase the overall
performance of the team (Management Study Guide 2016). The dynamics of building
and maintaining a strong team are extremely vital as the knowledge and expertise
each teammate brings to the table will be beneficial, ultimately. To build momentum
and a healthy work relationship within the team, we held several team meets and
went to lunch and/or dinner occasionally. This phase of project management carries
through to the completion

Buddha Vairocana was found and made in China during the eleventh century,
specifically the Liao dynasty. This sculpture stands at 21.9cm tall, 11.1cm wide,
10.8cm deep, and has a diameter base of 9.5cm. It was casted of bronze and gilded
with gold, the wax cast has not been found. This Buddha is now in the Metropolitan
Museum of Art along with other Asian art. Buddha Vairocana doesn t have much
weathering considering how old it is, most likely because it was gilded with gold.
There is a slight bit of tarnishing on the tips of the lotus and the tip of the crown. It
contains mostly circular representations and organic shapes, not many geometric
forms, this causes movement. The sculpture can be viewed at 360 degrees, and is

sits on a wheel atop a platform that is represented with the unity of a mandala. The
mandala represents the universe, but the wheel below the lotus represents the
Buddha s law or his teaching of nirvana. The wheel is a symbol of the teaching of
the path to nirvana, also know a s representation of the eightfold path. The buddha s

gesture in the Vairocana shows a celestial and transcendent being and nature. This
hand gesture shows that the buddha his almost cosmic. His robe drapes across his
arms and sits loosely on the rest of his body. This is similar to the Hellenistic style
in Greece. Although his robe is similar to the Hellenistic style his robe is actually a
monk s robe, which the sacred usually wears during rituals. He is very symmetrical,
other than his fingers, which are in the wisdom first pose, and his overlapping right
leg. The buddha s overlapping right leg is a mudra position associated with his hand
position. The mudra is the hand position and the leg to complete a ritual
7. Invisibility Of The Oppressed Group Analysis
There are four central elements that are prevalent in all forms of oppression, each of
these elements are complimentary of one another and helps perpetuate the existence
of oppression. (Pharr, 1988). Invisibility of the oppressed group occurs when those in
power omit or distort the past and current accomplishments of the oppressed group.
This practice of invisibility occurs through television, movies, and educational books
which omit or rewrite historical actions and achievements of minority groups. This
reinforces the idea the societal norm is the majority, and those who do not fall within
this category are nonexistent, or have not made any positive contributions to society.
While members of the LGBT community have become more visible in

process is part of the FAA s reauthorization legislation the FAA Modernization and
Reform Act of 2012 (P. L 1 12 95) which was signed into law by President Barack
Obama on Feb. 14, 2012. Federal, state and local government entities must obtain a

( Bureau of Counterterrorism 2013 ) The conflict of expedited certificate
authorization for the operation unmanned aerial vehicles is easily assessable to act on
violations of civilian rights. In the procedure of securing a certificate of authorization,
there is little to no training of individuals with in local law enforcement to act
according me with in Federal or even state privacy regulations. There is also the
possibility that UAVs that carry chemical sniffers could be totally unencumbered by
privacy protections. (Federal Aviation Administration 2013) Although the potential
contribution of UAVs to sectors such as environmental protection, law enforcement
and various commercial activities is apparent, they still seem not to be ready for
civilian use. This is due to several reasons, including e.g. civilian UAVs (CUAVs)
requiring different technological solutions such as optimized platforms, different
endurance requirements, dedicated payloads and different ground control systems.
An additional important problem to be solved is the integration of UAVs in the
civilian airspace, which will require the adoption of civilian airworthiness standards
and proven safety features. Last but not least trust has to be created, both at the public
sectors and the commercial community, that CUAVs have economic advantages (
Vanclay 2003) One of the main hyposisthist that is surrounding the inhabitation of the

What is an economic system?
An economic system is a system of production and distribution of goods and services
as well as allocation of resources in a society. It includes the combination of various
institutions, agencies, entities (or even sectors) and consumers that comprise the
economic structure of a given community. (Wikipedia, 2014)
Every society must consider what and how much resources they have and then
answer the basic economic questions of; what to produce? How to produce? and for
whom to produce?. How society answers these questions determines the nature of
their economic system. (Rosen, 2011:10)
Types of economic systems
There are four basic types of economic systems in the world: Traditional economy
system, Command economy system, Market economy system and Mixed economy
system. Traditional systems have one method of working and people in traditional
economies often live in rural areas and earn their living from hunting or farming. In
command systems, the government owns some or all the resources. The resources in

10. Antidepressants Research Paper
Antidepressants are a powerful way for people who suffer from severe depression
and anxiety to stay in control of their lives. Unfortunately, many people who take
antidepressants also have problems with illicit drug use. And while attending drug
rehabilitation is the most effective way to regain control of your life, the question of
whether or not you can take your antidepressants while you re there is surprisingly
complex.
Types of Antidepressants on the Market Before we delve too deeply into the
complexities of antidepressants and drug rehabilitation, it s important to sort the
various antidepressants into the four available categories. Throughout this article,
antidepressants will be discussed by their category, not by their brand name. ... Show

Officially, MAOIs are not labeled as addictive, but many people dispute that claim.
For example, a study in Denmark argued that SSRIs should be considered addictive
substances because people who quit often exhibit typical withdrawal symptoms
(known as SSRI discontinuation syndrome )such as insomnia, disturbed stomach,
confusion, depression, and even panic attacks. In fact, that study stated that SSRI
discontinuation syndrome shared 37 of the 42 symptoms commonly associated with
drug withdrawal. Those findings have been highly disputed by many in the medical
industry, but are worth noting if you are already struggling to overcome your
addiction in rehabilitation.
The Use of Antidepressants in Drug Rehabilitation In spite of the concerns associated
with antidepressants and their negative impact with certain therapy medicines and
their potentially addictive qualities, they are still regularly used in drug rehabilitation.
That s because their positives still outweigh the negatives, especially when dealing
with the mental illness that often comes with illicit drug
11. Constraints In Negotiations
Introduction
In any negotiation process, there are always constraints involved and decision
making process involves an analysis of the gains and tradeoffs one has to go
through to reach the best optimal solution Decision making process is not just a
psychological process as perceived by many but more of a game theory because both
the bidder and the negotiator are faced by various constraints, which both have to
develop a model with both constraints and targets and later iterate to obtain an
optimum solution Here, again, BATNA (best alternative to a negotiated agreement)
comes into play; both parties must go for a sacrifice. None gets exactly what he
wants but goes for a better alternative. The opportunity cost of leaving the job must be

This creates a dynamic whereby the party that supplies others with rewards
obligates them to pay back in some way,as failure to do so creates an incentive for
such a party to withhold such rewards and only supply them to individuals who will
refund it for its troubles. Thus, we can observe that increasing one s potential to
supply rewards to an interaction (i.e., improving one s contribution) can heighten an
individual s power through increasing his level of benefits that can be obtained from
the association.
With the objective to the attainment goal, negotiators here are motivated to maximize
their utility subject to constraints, which is accomplished through orienting
instructions (e.g., maximize the points earned in the negotiated solution ) and the
rewards (e.g., payment will be based on the points earned in the negotiated solution. ).
As a consequence, the attainment goals, and the operators generating outcomes that
tend to move towards the goal, have an influence on the search for solutions.
However, this agreement goal may alter the search for solutions that occur within the
fundamental problem space. More specifically, as solutions tend to unfold, they must
incorporate aspects of search by the other parties the duo mutually inform and also
constrain one
12. Essay Causes of the Counter-Culture
Causes of the Counter Culture As the 1950 s rolled along and the 1960 s came into
effect, the world was thrown into a topspin that would soon define every
generation of youths. As the trends changed and the music got more complex a
deeper metamorphosis was taking place inside every city and every person. To
develop a counterculture in the 1960 s there had to be new ideas circulating that
were counter norm. These ideas were not developed right away for any one reason,
though. Just like the times, the causes for this counter culture were far more
complex than anyone had seen before in the 20th century. Some could say it was

Innocent people had their lives ruined by stereotypes and false accusations because

the 1960 s. All ethnicities wanted equal rights for everyone because of
discrimination and segregation that took place in the north as well as the south.
The Civil Rights Act of 1957 allowed the Federal Government the right to
investigate Civil Rights Violations which did nothing except bring it out for an
example of what was to come for freedom. Schools were separated to white and
black public schools. The white schools had far better facilities and even more in
ways of academics and expectations than the black schools. The blacks schools
were typically run down with unequipped teachers who cared, but couldn t do
anything about it. Few challenged the schools because of the one set standard of
law set in place about segregation through Plessy vs. Ferguson. This was the
standard until Brown vs. Board of Education where they said that separate was not

accomplished if it was a just cause. On May 6, 1960 President Eisenhower signed the
Civil Rights Act of 1960. A year later on
13. Essay on The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu
Being a student interested in the field of biology, one knows that studying life in the
past plays an important role in the history of organisms that lived on this earth.
Similarly, being Japanese, studying the past of how Japanese were plays an
important role in Japanese history. Despite all the general aspects of life that have
changed from the Heian period, the one idea that has definitely not changed is the
romantic relationships between a man and woman. Though the general concept is the
same, from reading The Tale of Genji, it is what was considered the ideal woman and
ideal man that were both surprising and thus worth discussing. Written around 978 by

However, as To no Chujo pointed out (Shikibu 21), women that are high rank, have
a lot of people that serve them and make them look better than they are so that a
man cannot really know what kind of personality she may have. Middle rank
women on the other hand, have less hidden about her, and so one can tell what
kind of woman she is. This is probably because middle rank women do not have as
much pressure to look good as high rank women have and because they are not
expected to be as great. Thus in this way they are not pampered as much and in a
sense show their true colors. From this it can be concluded that the ideal woman if
it were possible, would be someone that was high rank, but also had a good
personality that was not just made to seem good but her servants. For a woman to
have a good personality is definitely an understandable character, but what
constituted good personality and character? The Chief Equerry, an older man with
more experience in matters with women in comparison to To no Chujo and Genji,
explained that the woman s main duty is to look after her husband and the household
(Shikibu 23). Thus the ideal woman would be one who was educated and smart
enough to take care of the household including preparing a fresh set of clothes after
her husband returns from journey, and keeping the house tidy and clean. She should
not have to ask her husband for every little thing that needs to be done because that

14. Income Diversification Essay
2.2.1. Contribution of Income Diversification to Poverty Reduction
The changing socioeconomic, political, environmental and climatic atmosphere in
developing countries across all over the world has continued to exacerbate the living
conditions of most households particularly those living in the rural areas. The
supplementary increase in poverty levels has led residents of these economies to
devise a number of mechanisms to mitigate the negative effects of these changes.
Meanwhile, there has been an increased acknowledgment among researchers
especially in the past one or two decades that Africans diversify their ways of living,
including on farm and off farm activities or market and non market activities, to

Since many rural households derive income from some form of non farm activity,
increasing the profitability and range of such activities would improve their ways of
living security and living conditions (Awoyemi, 2004). However, expansion of these
opportunities related to the asset status and barriers to entry resulting from
inadequate or differential access to markets (Ellis, 2000). It is obvious that rural
economy is not based on agriculture but rather on a diverse means of activities and
enterprises. Much recent thinking on this subject is based on the concept of
livelihood diversification as a survival strategy of rural households in developing
countries (Ellis, 1998). Farming remains important but rural people are looking for
diverse opportunities to increase and stabilize their incomes.
Individuals in developing countries often rely on various sources of monetary
incomes (Leibbrand and Woolard, 2000). Moreover, Glick (1999) states that
monetary earnings are often supplemented through extensive engagement in home
production. The situation is likely to be similar in other countries of sub Saharan
Africa in particularly and in other developing countries in general. This suggests that
studies of labour market participation and labour supply in developing countries
should start from the presumption that multiple job holding is the norm rather than the
15. Diversification And Diversification Into The New Markets...
Diversification is entering the new markets with new products and different from
those in which the firm is currently engaged in. It is helpful to divide diversification
into related diversification and unrelated diversification. Related diversification is
when a business adds or expands its existing product markets. The companystarts
manufacturing a new product or through new marketrelated to its business activity.
For example, a phone company that adds or expands its wireless products or services
by purchasing another wireless company is engaging in related diversification. Under
related diversification, companies want to make easier the consumption of its
products by producing complementing goods or offering complementing services. In
a related diversification the resulting combined business should able to improve
return on investment (ROI) because of increased revenues, decrease costs and
reduced investment.

One commonly found resource that is exportable is a strong established brand name
like Coca Cola, Microsoft, Pepsi, BMW and others. For example, Coca Cola spent

b)Marketing skills
Usually a firm will lack a strong skill in marketing for a particular market. The
frequent motive to diversify is to export or import a marketing talent. For these cases,
Coca Cola s marketing skills are used to be to bring the plight of polar bears closer to

Everyone enjoys the site of a rainbow expected after it rains on a sunny day;
however, although a rainbow formation is basic optics and geometry, it is highly
misunderstood. Many understand the appearance due to dispersion of light, but most
do not realize what that entitles. What most people do not expect when looking at a
rainbowis that it moves as the observer moves (Cartwright, 1992). Shown in the photo
to the left, is a rainbow taken along the countryside in Missoula, Montana. To further
discuss how a rainbow works, one must understand the reflection refractiontheories
that cause such a formation. A wave theory of lightdeveloped by Auguste Fresnel

Rays of light come from a fixed direction as bundles, which always are red proving
a greater concentration of light from that fixed direction. This ray is called a
caustic ray (Bim 1999). As the height y of an incident ray increases from 0, the
deflection of the outgoing ray decreases towards the caustic ray, causing the y to
pass the caustic ray, and the deflection increases again (Gordon de Pree, Ph.D, 20)
In specific conditions, the observer can see a secondary rainbow behind the
primary rainbow weaker and inverse in spectra, with red on the inside and violet
on the outside. According to Cartwright s article on Rainbows, the space between
red and violet, regardless of direction, is called the Alexander s Dark band, which is
noticeably darker than its surroundings. This way of looking at the matter along the

18. Tornado Effect On Tornadoes
Climate change is a global or regional change in typical weather conditions. Although
Earth s climate has changed in the past, studies show that in the last 100 years global
average temperatures have increased by more than 1В°F (Dunbar). These seemingly
small changes can have tremendous implications such as rising sea levels, decrease in
ice cover, and change in precipitation patterns. As an extended consequence, extreme
weather events are anticipated to become altered as well. The Tri State tornadoof 1925
crossed three state lines causing billions in damage and killing hundreds; it was the
deadliest tornadoes in U.S. history. It is difficult to determine whether the tornado
was altered by climate change. However, we can theorize about the possible effects of
climate change on tornadoes in general to gain insight on future outcomes.
Tornadoes arise from supercell thunderstorms. When condensation occurs, latent
heat is released causing powerful updrafts of air. Warm, moist air rises and
interacts with cooler, drier air high in the atmosphere. As it rises, it moves with
increasing speed in different directions. Moisture at the storm s base allows for the
formation of a cloud base which acts as a source of energy for the tornado. A
mesocyclone develops, creating a wide column of rotating air which is pulled
upwards. Cool, dry, sinking air wraps around the outside of the mesocyclone creating
a downdraft. The difference between temperature on the inside of the vortex and the

The sugar program has used farm commodity and trade policy instruments to support
domestic sugar prices at levels that exceed world prices without needing the
government to buy enormous quantities of domestic sugar in most years. The United
States of America sugar policy, which works under the Farm Bills overwhelmingly
passed in 2008 and 2014, is based on the common sense notion that supply and
demand should be in balance. Sugaris the cheapest major commodity program

The farmers are protected because the sugar companies must buy within the
country, and farming cannot be deported outside of the United States of America. I
think the policy is a good thing because it protects and benefits farmers, the
backbone of America. It is a good thing the farmers are protected because like the
economist says farming is one of the only things working in America s economy.
Having the farms and farmers thriving is creating jobs and sustaining America s
wealth and economy. Also keeping the farms in America is good for America s
people because it is healthier. I know that when the sugar is more expensive the
manufacturers will not be able to make more jobs, or they are sending the factories
plus the jobs to other countries like Mexico, like the Spangler company did when
they sent their candy cane factory there. Now, that is not the best thing for America

United States of America it would be detrimental to all the small towns and farming

20. Seventh Man Guilt
The narrator of the Seventh Man should forgive himself over the failure to save his
friend K. There are multiple explanations to why this is,such as The Seventh Man s
attempt to help K,his guilt and natural fear. Due to these reasons the seventh Man
should not be accounted for something that he shouldn t be associated with in the
first place. One reason is because of the narrator s attempt to save K.When the
narrator and K where at the beach, the narrator suddenly felt an awful feeling that
something terrible was approaching. The narrator felt a massive wave coming and
told K to get away with him and then ran, however K was off in his own world and
wasn t able to hear the narrator so when the narrator turned back and yelled
Hurry,K! Get out of their! The wave is coming! Unfortunately it was too late and was
swallowed by the wave along with his dog as said in page 138.... Show more content

Also the narrator isn t guilty because of the fact that the Seventh Man is guilty of
what has happened to K moreover the narrator is ashamed that he failed to save K
and wishes he could have done more to prevent his dearest friends death. This form
of guilt could even be considered survivors guilt due to the form of guilt, the person
who died and the situation the guilt occured from. This survivor s guilt is also
different from normal guilt where the person is responsible for their actions.Forms
of survivors guilt can be seen throughout the short story such as in page 141 such
as when the narrator tried to sleep but always had a horrible dream Then, all of a
sudden, someone grabs my right ankle leg...I m being dragged under the surface.I see
K s face there...I swallow water, and my lungs start to fill up also (The dreams)
remained part of my life, though. They would come like debt collectors at the door...I
would wake screaming,my sheets soaked with

HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY II:
THE REFORMATION AND MODERN CHURCH

Mail Box # 344
Letters on Revival is written by The Rev. Charles G. Finneyin year 1946 is series of
32 letters addressed to Ministers of the Gospel and all interested person. It is
Finney s Reflections on revival and revival meetings, written in 1845 46, and
distributed in the Oberlin Evangelist, the bi weekly official publication of Oberlin
College, where Rev. Finney was Professor of Theology and in the end, President of
the College. Finney s writing reflects a lot about revival; that it is a method for saving
souls as well as changing people and, eventually, the society. Through revivalism, the
church would introduce the millennial kingdom to the world. Finney acknowledges
that revival brought good change radically and also that Christians ought to be
effectively involved in transforming all areas of community.
This paper will aim to involve a close reading on Reflection on Revivals by Charles
G. Finny, We will be discussing seven different letters which He has address to the
Ministers of the Gospel and brothers. He talks about revival but he designed his
religious theology to fit his revivalist practices. His unique perspective of original sin
incorporated an improvement, the general nature of depravity, and a lack of teaching
of attribution. Three
22. Chinese Exclusion Act Dbq Analysis
After the increased suppression of international slave trade during the mid nineteenth
century, Chinese immigrants were frowned upon in America due to the fact that
they were depicted as a threat to the U.S economy. As a result, the Chinese
Exclusion Act of 1882 was passed and banished a vast majority of Chinese people in
America. Based on the documents provided, it can be concluded that the Chinese
Exclusion Act, despite being morally incorrect, was an inefficient ordinance that
caused an abundance of controversy in America. Based on document A, during this
time frame, there was a great amount of racist feelings towards the Chinese. This is
shown in a play called The Chinese Must Go by Henry Grimm, which depicts the
Chinese in a negative
23. Oprah Winfrey Life
All my life I have wanted to lead people to an empathy space. To a gratitude space. I
want us all to fulfill our greatest potential. To find our calling, and summon the
courage to live it. I would like to thank Oprah for showing me that even though life
can be hard, I don t have to let it turn me cold and heartless. She had a rough start in
life but she continued to persevere and help others. I admire her persistence to
always try to do better. She was born into poverty and her mother was a teenage
single mom. Although she moved around a lot as a little girl, after she went to live
with her father, she became an honors student in high school. She was voted most
popular girl, won the Miss Black Tennessee beauty pageant at age 17, won an oratory

Oprah emphasizes spiritual values, healthy living and self help. One of my favorite
episodes on her show was when daughters whose dads had abandoned them, and she
teaches them how to love themselves. She teaches them that their worth is not based
on their father s actions and opinions. She also teaches them all men aren t the same,
and their boyfriends and husbands truly love them.
In 2000, Oprah s Angel Network began presenting a $100,000 Use Your Life
Award to people who are using their own lives to improve the lives of others. She
has given away $400 million to educational causes. She has also given over 400
scholarships to Morehouse college in Atlanta, GE. Winfrey is a dedicated child
activists for children s rights. She founded the Family for Better Lives foundation.
Oprah is one of my role models for my career. I want to go into social work. I want to
help families and children.
She has persevered and helped others in her rough life. Most people would say she
was memorable for being down to earth. She became the highest paid performer on
television, the richest self made woman in America, and the richest African
American of the 20th century. The Wall Street Journal wrote, It s a relief to see a

The Patriarchal Power in the Institution of marriage: Simone de Beauvoir and the
Conflict of Male/Female Dualism in Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
In beginning, the conflict between male and female power in the 19th century
institution of marriage will presented through Simone de Beauvoir s theory of
dualism in Jane Austen s Sense and Sensibility. Elinor, the main character of Austen s
novel, is a woman that is at the mercy of patriarchal male figures that control the
institution of marriage. Beauvoir defines the historical creation of the male
dominance of over women through the theme of the duality of the sexes. Austen s
novel provides many examples of the patriarchal construct of male authority through
marriage, which is defined in the various social and legal pressures imposed on
women, such as Elinor. Elinor is an extremely intelligent woman that is much smarter
and more sensible than many of the men and women in this novel, yet she is
continually oppressed by the patriarchal institution of marriage in 19th century
British Society. In essence, an analysis of Simone De Beauvoir s theme of duality will
be analyzed in the context of Jane Austen s Sense and Sensibility. In 19th century
British society, the patriarchal institution of marriage takes on an almost absolute
power over women at levels of class and status. Austen s depiction of women in this
environment provides a way to understand the overarching oppression that many
women endured during this
26. Persuasive Essay On Pedestrians
Walk Your Wheels: The Danger of Bicycles in Pedestrian Sidewalks
I glance down at my phone for a moment and I realize that my 15 minute margin of
travel time to race across campus to my class is dwindling; I look up only to find
an individual on a bicycle hurdling toward me, clearly, incapable of stopping in
time, I scramble out of the way in an attempt to save myself from becoming roadkill.
This is a common occurrence for student pedestrians on their way to class given the
increasing number of bicyclists and skateboarders that refrain from following
university transportation laws, however, instead of criminalizing the act of using
these modes of transportation on pedestrian sidewalks the university should make it
safer and more efficient for these individuals to share the roads with cars by installing
bicycle lanes. This issue is important to all campus residents, since the incorrect use
of transportation could jeopardize their safety and should be carefully considered in
order to prevent accidents. This proposal argument will aim at persuading university
officials, specifically those in charge of the university transportation services, to
reconsider their handling of bicycle and other non motorized transportation rules and
safety on campus. There are many rules that bicyclists and other alternative
transportation users must follow, for example, bicycles [are] not [to] be ridden on
sidewalks or any pedestrian paths in the limited bike zone [central campus] , yet not

Minority
The objective of this report is to give a concise study regarding the Arab minority in
Israel. It will trace some significant issues that have impacted the overall linguistic
reality, nevertheless the marginalization of Arabs in that small but complex country.
It will track the language policy adopted in that country, the educational,
political, practical, social, ideological reasons that have lead to the Arabic status in
Israel. Spolsky and shohamy(1999a:41)suggest an obvious difference among three
things, language practices language ideology and language policy.
Language practices are the actual use of linguistic repertoire, that is, the options
among language varieties and languages accessible to a society. Language ideology is

As a result, this situation of Hebrew becoming the national language has created a
linguistic and social dominance across all domains. This superstratum of Hebrew in
Israel can be seen in most of the domains such as governmental departments and
institutions, advertisements, the media, court procedures and education.
This linguistic reality, has added to the negative social attitudes towards the Arabic
minority, the economic status of a minority language is likely to be a key element in
language vitality. Palestinians in Israel, who constitute an indigenous and national
minority, are considered a minority of low socio economic status (Smooha, 2005) this

Furthermore, this linguistic reality, has enforced endogamy, where Arab Israelis,

the Arabic language policy to further improve and relinquish its status..
The social reality mentioned above has contributed towards the negative economic,
social and political status, which in return, has further marginalized and
28. Freakonomics by Steven Dubner and Steven Levitt
Freakonomics Summary The books introductory chapter is The Hidden Side of
Everything which is the best phrase to describe the books purpose. The book doesn
t have a set plot line like most books. The book makes people think about things
different from how they normally would; for instance, the concept of real estate
agents as the KKK. In the book Levitt and Dubner prove many times that correlation
does not mean causation. However the book then goes in and provides of examples
of how two unrelated items could in fact be connected. Thus, they are able to prove
most unlikely correlations with the right proof. In the first chapter the authors
propose economics to be the study of the affects of incentives. He backs up this
proposal with three examples. He showed how Chicago teaches were cheating the
standardized test system. He also then insinuated that cheating doesn t occur often in
the sumo wrestling sport. Lastly, he provides the example that a bagel seller used the
honor system to sell his bagels. While he did this he kept detailed financial records
and found some people stole bagels. In chapter two the authors reference the thought
that the most successful historical events due to a disparity of information. They give
the example that when real estate agents sell their houses they do it their own
advantage not the consumers. They tell the consumers what they want to hear but
leave out the information that they wouldn t be fond of. However the authors thoughts
29. Essay about The Science, Technology, and Ethics of HIV...
The Science, Technology, and Ethics of HIV Vaccine Research
An annual report recently released by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV
/AIDS indicated that the number of HIV infected individuals increased 10 percent in
the last year, bringing the number of people worldwide who are now carrying the
virus to over 33 million. According to the report, half of these new infections were in
people15 to 24 years old, and there were 11 new infections a minute. Sub Saharan
Africa reportedly accounts for two thirds of the infected population and about 12
million AIDS related deaths. There were 200,000 new HIV infections in Latin
American and the Caribbean last year and 800,000 new HIV infections reported in
Eastern Europe and Central Asia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The immunopathogenesis of HIV is known to a greater extent than that of many other
infectious diseases for which a vaccine exists. Thus, the question arises as to why an
HIV vaccine still does not exist. The United States and other industrialized nations
have a comparative advantage in creating incentive for HIV vaccine research and. .
.doing to would be in their own self interest, as well as the interest of developing
countries (World Bank 268).
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has declared the development of an AIDS
vaccine its highest priority. However, in 1995 NIH had spent only $100 million on
vaccine research out of a total AIDS budget of $1.3 billion and only $180 million
of a projected $1.73 billion will be spent on vaccine research in 1999 (Lancet
1323). Most of NIH s AIDS budget will be allocated to research on pathogenesis and
therapeutics. Similarly, worldwide totals for public and private investment in vaccine
development totaled a mere $160 million in 1993, compared with an estimated $1.3
billion spent on other approaches to prevent HIV infection and about $5 billion spent
on HIV related health care (World Bank 266). Although investments in education and
behavior intervention strategies seem to be paying off in the United States and
Western Europe, the same approaches to HIV prevention should not be expected to
have the same success in developing countries, primarily for two reasons. The first
being the fact that
30. An Argument in Opposition of Education Vouchers Essay
An Argument in Opposition of Education Vouchers
Why would anyone wish to withhold support for a program that has the potential to
revolutionize the, often, insufficient American education system? This question has
undoubtedly entered the mind of proponents of education voucher systems across the
country. However, despite the pressure placed on legislators everywhere, close
scrutiny of the real issues should not be clouded by public fervor. It is my belief that,
after a thorough examination of the merits of such programs, school vouchers would
be a gross detriment to both the American education system and the nation itself.
In an education voucher system, students are given vouchers for the tuition of any
private or public school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major problem with that argument, however, is the nature of the GI Bill. While
voucher programs offer vouchers to all eligible students in their respective districts,
the funds from the GI Bill are available only to members of the Armed Forces. These
funds, though conditional, are clearly a form of repayment for military service.
Another point put forth by proponents is that of competition between schools. They
believe that competition between private schools and public schools as well as each
other will improve not only the private schools but also the public schools with
which they compete. This argument yields two concerns, however. First, people
should consider the problems that arose from many trade schools opening for the
purpose of collecting money from government grants. A large number of such
schools simply enrolled students to be eligible for grant money and provided only a
limited education. Of course, this scenario doesn t parallel that of a school voucher
program, but the concerns about schools being created simply for the purpose of
collecting voucher money. Slightly similar in concept is the other concern regarding
this free market argument: Do we really want schools that are supposed to educate the
children of this country competing for money and therefore students?
Some argue that voucher programs offer significant savings over public school
education, due to private schools being run
31. Theme and Symbolism in American Music Essay
Theme and Symbolism in American Music
Music defines our culture. As Americans, we listen to music while we drive our cars,
are at work, doing housework, studying, etc. We have songs for special occasions:
Christmas, Hanukah, birthdays, weddings, parties, etc. We have taken songs from the
various cultures that make us diverse: Arabic, German, Mexican, Native American,
etc. We have many genres: country, hip hop, rap, pop, blues, jazz, rock, heavy metal,
etc. And although we may think of music as simple and easy, looking at all this
makes one realize how diverse and complex our music truly is. Two things that
contribute to this diversity are theme and symbolism.
Theme can be defined as the subject or topic of something. In relation to ... Show

I love you, please say you love me too, she sings. I love you / I will be your light,
shining through your eyes. Still yet, we have Crazy in Love by Beyonce and Jay
Z, hip hop artists. Your love s got me looking so crazy right now, they sing/rap.
Looking so crazy in love. Despite the musical differences between all these artists, all
three songs/genres were able to give light to the theme of love. And even though the
theme may be the same, the music and words were not. So even though two songs
may have a theme that is similar, themes in music add diversity.
Symbolism in music can vary from the author s use of a word or phrase with
personal meaning or the author s use of a word or phrase to symbolize something
relative to a culture. Take for example the songs sung during slavery. According to
the CD Steal Away there are many symbols found in the music sung by the slaves.
For example, in the song Go Down Moses the slaves were able to sing about the
injustices of slavery right before their masters. Let my people go they would sing.
But since the song appears to be a reference to the biblical story, the owners would
allow it to be sung. In this song, the singers have personal symbols that another group
of people would not understand. Yet in popular music you will find symbols, such as
the rose, which have
32. Manifestation And Etiology
Manifestation and Etiology Dementia includes many diseases, and Alzheimer s
disease (AD) is the most common (Schultz Krohn, Foti, Glogoski, 2012). The
cause of AD is not well understood. Individuals with AD have characteristic
neurofibrillary tangles and beta amyloid plaques that cause neuronal loss and the
shrinking of overall brain structure (Atchison Dirette, 2012). Significant loss of
neurons occur in the cerebral cortex impacting thinking, judgment, reasoning,
speech, and language (Atchison Dirette, 2012). AD can be classified as early
onset, before the age of 65, or more commonly late onset, after the age of 65
(Atchison Dirette, 2012). Gene mutations are typically seen in AD, but do not
cause the late onset form of AD; however, three genes are responsible for causing
the early onset form of AD (Atchison Dirette, 2012). Although age is the strongest
risk factor, having Down syndrome is a genetic risk factor for developing AD
(Atchison Dirette, 2012). Researchers estimate 13% of adults over the age of 65
have AD, and women have a higher incidence of AD (Schultz Krohn et al., 2012;
Atchison Dirette, 2012). Diagnostic Procedures As previously discussed, the cause of
AD is not well understood, which makes the diagnosis of AD more difficult as there
is not one biological marker (Atchison Dirette, 2012). AD is diagnosed by eliminating
other conditions that display similar symptoms, such as Parkinson s disease or
cardiovascular disease (Atchison Dirette, 2012). Once other conditions are ruled out,
diagnostic tools such as magnetic resonance volumetry, magnetic resonance
spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging, cerebrospinal fluid assays, positron emission
tomography, and electroencephalography can be used to detect some of the brain
abnormalities that are characteristic of AD (Atchison Dirette, 2012). These diagnostic
tools are not always the most accurate, and there is not a demand for better diagnostic
tools due to the lack of effective treatment options following an AD diagnosis
(Atchison Dirette, 2012). Primary Symptoms AD impacts all performance skills;
however, it is typically associated with memory loss that worsens with time (Atchison
Dirette, 2012). Memory impairment

Catharine Esther Beecher was a famous educator and writer. She was the eldest
child of the Beecher clan. Catharine was born in East Hampton, New York, in
1800. When she was 10, her family moved to Litchfield, Connecticut where she
began her education at Sarah Pierce s Academy for Young Women. When
Catharine was 16 years old, her mother died of tuberculosis, leaving Catharine to
care for her younger siblings. Catharine cared for her siblings like they were her
children. Catharine Beecher s early career was devoted to promoting education for
women and the beginning of education as a profession. While still in her teens,
Catharine wrote poems that were published. At age 22, she became engaged to a Yale

At this time, the seminary had become one of the premier women s schools in the
United States. Upon arriving in Cincinnati, Catharine opened another women s
school, the Western Female Institute, but this school did not last due to the lack of
financial support caused by the Panic of 1837, an economic depression in the US.
During the 1840s, Catharine worked to recruit teachers for schools on the western
frontier and organized the Central Committee for Promoting National Education.
This organization promoted teacher education and presented to the ideas of
education as a profession. In 1852, Catharine Beecher was one of the founders of
the American Women s Educational Association, which was for the higher learning
institutions for women in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Through her writings and
the schools she opened, Catharine fought for the women to be taught history,
Latin, rhetoric, algebra, logic, physical education, and natural philosophy. She also
introduced domestics education class, which is known as family and consumer
sciences. She believed that preparing women to be respected caregivers was the
key to provide women to become teachers, which Catharine saw as naturally suited
for women. She also advocated for the provision of a basic education for all children
of every social class. Catharine s influence on public education was to make the role
of a public school teacher a female

The book that I chose to read for my project is called The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.
The story follows a woman named Esther Greenwood through her downward spiral
of mental illness, and describes her experiences as someone who does not fit the
societal expectations placed upon her. She grew up earning A s in school, and was
regarded as a good student. However, as she entered college, her grades and mental
health took a turn for the worse. Working an internship in New York for a magazine
company, Esther was living a life that many would envy. She was surrounded by
friends, entertainment, romantic interests, and the career that she had hoped for.
However, none of the things that were supposed to bring her happinesssucceeded in
doing so.
Esther tried escaping into New York night life with the help of her friend Doreen,
and made several acquaintances and friends along the way. She went to banquets,
and stuffed herself full of rich, exquisite foods. She was proposed to by Buddy
Willard, a childhood sweetheart. She bought expensive gowns with her new money;

Through Esther Greenwood s experiences, the reader can conclude that happiness
cannot always be achieved by filling traditional societal roles. Esther would not
have been happy or satisfied settling down with Buddy Willard, even though she
had been taught that it would be the best path for her as a woman. Perhaps without
the pressure and expectations placed upon her by society, Esther may have been
able to find meaning and joy in life much earlier. Perhaps she would have spent her
time traveling, writing, or finding inspiration to continue living elsewhere. Instead,
she drove herself mad trying to understand why she was not content with what she
had, or why she did not want the things that were expected of her. Once again, once
she was able to discard this way of thinking, she was able to end her

41. What Is The Root Of Social Darwinism
The survival of the fittest the root of Social Darwinism. Charles Darwin, who was a
naturalist ruled out that an adaptable species would only survive and reproduce. The
concept is the same in Social Darwinism, but was not introduced by Darwin. Social
Darwinists such as Herbert Spencer and William Sumner claimed that in a society,
only the wealthiest and powerful survives in contrast with the poor and impotent.
This applies especially to the people living under Laissez faire capitalismin which the
government does not control the business. Andrew Carnegie s gospel of wealth
contradicted with the common believes of Social Darwinism. Andrew proposed that
the wealthy should distribute their wealth to level up the discrepancy between
people. Spencer, Sumner, the famous Darwinists advocated that life of a human was a
struggle for existence, where only the best thrives. Human life was basically
contrasted with organisms. Darwinists held belief that the wealthy will have more
independence, basic needs, and sophisticated living, and the poor left out to die. They
thought that poor were unfit for the survival, and thus should be aided.... Show more

He insisted that the wealthiest should share their wealth to others who in need. In his
article, he informed the responsibility of a philanthropist. His idea was to distribute
wealth to others in a thoughtful manner. His ultimate goal was to gravel up the
inequality between people. Traditionally, wealth was passed down to generation;
Carnegie proposed that it would be beneficiary to spend that wealth to the public.
Andrew argued to put the wealth to its best use when administered by the wealthy. He
is also against the extravagant spending, and wasting capital rather than investing into
something beneficial. He put his philosophies into practice by building Carnegie
libraries around America and other nations. This system provided people with

because my data proves it to be true. Based on my data, as the sucrose concentration
is lower, the average change in mass is less than when the sucrose concentrationis
higher. This is because more water has to travel in or out of the dialysis bag in order
to help dilute the high concentration of the solutionin the beaker down to even it out
with the concentration inside of the dialysis bag. Also, I noticed that having the water
in the beaker and the sucrose molarity inside a dialysis bag always results in the water
being hypotonic to the dialysis bag. When looking at the situation where we were
given the unkown sucrose molarity solution within the beaker and the known sucrose
molarity solutions in the dialysis bags the results turned out to be hypertonic, isotonic
and hypotonic on different parts of the graph.... Show more content on

In addition, the sucrose solution with the unknown molarity is isotonic to the
dialysis bag when the line crosses the x axis. This is because of the fact that there is
no change in mass here which means the solutions must be of an equivilent
concentration. Also, when it comes to the solution in the dialysis bag being of a
higher concentration than that of the unknown sucrose molarity concentration within
the beaker, the dialysis bag gained mass. This is because the unknown solution is
hypotonic to the dialysis bag, causing water to enter the bag. There were many
possible sources of error for this lab. First of all, someone may not have dried the
outside dialysis bags properly before weighing them on the
44. The Rocking Horse Research Paper
My favorite toy when I was littler than I am now was a brown and white rocking
horse. I wasn t born to see it be given as a gift but for my baby shower my great
grandparents had giving my parents a rocking horse for me. I would be on the horse
constantly I couldn t run around because it was just a rocking horseso I would sit on it
next to the tv and watch my shows. This love for horses connected with cowboys
so I began to wear cowboy boots everyday I d wear them to school, when we would
go shopping and even just around the house I would wear them.
My siblings and I would go over to my great grandparents house on weekdays, I
would always bring the rocking horse there. My grandpa was a oakie so we would
always watch his black and white cowboy shows, while watching these shows I
would be on the horse rocking back and forward. During these cowboy shenanigans
our favorite snack to eat was my great grandma s homemade cornbread with a glass
of milk, the cornbread would smell sweet and feel warm. In the backyard of the
house was my great grandpa s shed, when he would weld or do who knows what, I d
be right by him on my rocking horse. As all these days passed the fun on my
rocking horse was beginning to come to an end and I was getting bigger, being ...

Moments later that s when my parents told me my great grandpa had welded it for
me that moment this toy became 100 times more valuable to me. This quickly
became my new favorite toy I would play on it everyday just like how I did with the
old one. Then a few days later I went to my great grandparents house and gave my
grandpa the biggest hug ever and told him thankyou a million times. I came back to
my old self I played with my siblings, my mood was happy and I wanted to go to
school all thanks to my great
45. Subjection of Women by John Stuart Mill
At the very beginning of this work of his, The subjection of Women , Mill sets
forth the objective of the essay. He explains in clear terms that the legal
subordination of one sex to the other is wrong in itself. This principle which
regulates the existing social relations between the two sexes ought to be replaced by
a principle of perfect equality. This principle should admit no power or privileges on
the one side or disabilities on the other.
Mill rejects society s claim that the subordination of women is natural . According to
him, this is a product of custom and however universal they may be, they afford
presumptions. He says that they ought not create any prejudice in favour of the very
arrangement which places women in social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Infact they do not want them to be slaves but to be their favourites. That is the very
reason why they have made the best efforts to enslave their minds. He elaborates his
argument saying that men wanted simple obedience from women and hence the
educated them on such lines so as to make them submissive and yielding. They were
brought up with the belief that they were not supposed to govern or rule over men.
Inspite of the handicaps which a women bears, he strongly defends the cause of
women saying that these fragments of the past are discordant with the future and
must necessarily disappear.
The essay is basically concerned about the admissibility of women to all functions
and occupations, which has been retained as the monopoly of the stronger sex and is
in the quest for the equality of women. It has been wrongly believed that women are
incapable of certain employments which are open to even the basest of males and the
society s very thinking that they, women, depart from the real path of success and
happiness when they aspire to it. Such specialties include politic, science and
philosophy. On the contrary, many women have proved themselves capable of
everything, perhaps without a single exception, which is done by men. The unfitness
of women for these occupations is sometimes based on what has come to be known as
the nature of women according to which the mental constitution of women differs
from that of men.
46. Giotto Di Bondone Distinctively Visual
To give a background, linear perspective is a mathematical system for creating the
illusion of space and distance on a flat surface. An artist must first imagine the
picture surface as an open window through which to see the painted world when he
or she wants to use perspective in his or her paintings. Straight lines are then drawn
on the canvas to represent the horizon and visual rays connecting the viewer s eye
to a point in the distance. One must draw these lines to connect the viewer s eye to
a vanishing point line, just like where the sky meets the ground. Orthogonal lines
are then drawn over the canvas or work space. The point where orthogonal lines
meet is called the vanishing point. One can compare this to train tracks in the
distance. [fix this paragraph] [transitions to examples] Perspective did not start out
as perfect and as true to life as we know it today. Pictures used to be very flat and
cartoon like. This changed however when artists began to get really creative and pay
attention to making their pieces more lifelike. One of the artists who started this
change was Giotto di Bondone (1267 1337). Giotto was one of the important,
accomplished, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his other hand, he would hold a mirror in which he would see the reflected image
of the Baptistry. Through the hole or aperture, the eye of the observer would be
drawn immediately to the spot which corresponded to the vanishing point. Through
this experiment, Brunelleschi helped provide the scientific basis for visual
representation in the fifteenth century and he is credited with the formulation of a
linear, central perspective based on mathematical principles. Brunelleschi s studies
transformed art drastically from that point on. Utilizing the observation that parallel
lines receding into space seem to converge on the horizon, an artist may create the
illusion of depth on the surface of his
47. Narrative Essay About Going To The Beach
It was finally summer vacation and my family and I decided to go to the beach as
soon as the last day of school ended. While I sat in my seat in class, the anticipation
of going to the beach kept me from concentrating, all I saw was the teacher s
familiar mouth formations, speaking to the class about some Post World War Two
battle involving a conspiracy about Hitler and the Nazi regime in the classroom. I
sat there, in the tan metal chair attached to the wooden desk next to the wall,
waiting. Time passed by and my excitement increased as I rushed out of the room,
down the dim hallway, past the office out the glass, front doors to see my family
parked in the teeming parking lot. As soon as I got into the car, my dad hit the gas
pedal and we were off to our beloved destination. Hours passed and we neared the
beach, and I could see the ocean and the grainy sand. We were almost there and I
could not contain my enthusiasm. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning!
We got to the parking lot and I could see the towering building above me awaiting
my presence. I leaped out of the car with my items and headed straight to the glass
doors. I sped up the stairs, to the third floor, down the hallway, to the sixth door on
the right. I dropped my stuff off into the room and went straight outside and out to
the beach because I could not wait any longer. Wow. I said as I stuck my feet in the
scorching sand and felt the heat pass in between my toes as I walked across the
beach. I
