Research Paper On Maasai Culture
Settled in Kenya and Tanzania, the Maasai enjoy a simple life with an abundance of culture. With
roots in pastoralism, the Maasai live an intriguing life with traditions unlike any in the world.
Language, marriage, societal statuses, the economy, religion, and health are fundamental in
appreciating all that the Maasai have to offer. The warriors of the savannas red clothing signify power,
and with that comes a powerful amount of knowledge that is still being learned. Like any other
culture, the way of communication plays a pivotal role in the daily lives of the Maasai people. Maa
people, including the Maasai, Sumburu and Camus, share a common language known as Maa (Maa

The world is changing, and with that, the Maasai must change. The governments of Kenya and
Tanzania do not support the Maasai lifestyle and have come close to causing the traditions to
completely dwindle away. The Maasai used to have free reign in their area of the East Africa, but land
allocation has interfered with this freedom ( Maasai ). There is still so much that can be learned from
the Maasai, and as we continue to study their culture, we can begin to truly understand the warriors of

Comparison Of Betty Neuman s Systems Model
Comparison Assignment
Betty Neuman s systems model is a systems theory that emphasizes the importance of the complex
and ongoing interactions among all subsystems of an individual (Hood, 2014, p.128). Neuman s
systems model focuses on decreasing external, internal, and environmental factors that could
adversely affect an individual. Furthermore, Neuman s system model explains that these stressors can
cause a specific response and a unique reaction that consequently wears off the defense lines that
protect the person s inner core and preserve their health and well being (Hood, 2014, p.131). In
contrast, Callista Roy s adaption model is a stress/adaption theory based on the premise that human
response can adapt and change in terms of accommodation (Hood, 2014, p. 133). Roy s adaption
model explains that human response to stimuli is dictated by the individual s adaptive modes, type of
stimuli they were confronted by, level of adaption, and ability to cope (Hood, 2014). Moreover, as
Hood (2014) states, a person s adaption level is determined by its response to a combination of focal,
contextual, and residual stimuli.
While Roy s adaption ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the fact that both theorists targeted goals aim to decrease adverse stressors and unwanted
stimuli through interventions that enable a patient to maintain optimal health by means of positive
coping and prompt identification of stressor, their means to attain patient s goal are a somehow
dissimilar. Neuman s system model interventions are targeted towards primary, secondary, or tertiary
prevention (Hood, 2014, p. 168) with the aim to fortify the person s lines of defense. Although, Roy s
adaption model interventions are also aimed to improve coping mechanisms and to reduce stressors,
they are specific to the improving adaption modes and optimizing adaption levels of the individual due
to the combination of stressors such as focal, contextual, and residual (Hood,

History of Portraiture Essay example
History of Portraiture
Portraiture is a visual representation of an individual people, distinguished by references to the subject
s character, social position, wealth, or profession.
Portraitists often strive for exact visual likenesses. However, although the viewer s correct
identification of the sitter is of primary importance, exact replication is not always the goal. Artists
may intentionally alter the appearance of their subjects by embellishing or refining their images to
emphasize or minimize particular qualities (physical, psychological, or social) of the subject. Viewers
sometimes praise most highly those images that seem to look very little like the sitter because these
images are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Romans were expert in rendering individuals. Some scholars have argued that it was the practice
of making and keeping death masks of ancestors (worn by survivors in the funeral processions) that
accounts for the enormous skill with which Roman portraitists captured the individuality of their
subjects. Many portrait busts survive, including images of Roman rulers as well as poignant
representations of aged citizens. Especially noteworthy are the mummy portraits from the region of Al
Fayyūm in Egypt. Painted during the 2nd century ad, these portraits depict individuals who stare
wide eyed at the viewer. These slightly simplified representations of staring subjects anticipate the
severity and frontal orientation of early medieval portraits.
The Renaissance marked a turning point in the history of portraiture. Partly out of interest in the
natural world and partly out of interest in the classical cultures of ancient Greece and Rome,
portraits both painted and sculpted were given an important role in Renaissance society.
In the Netherlands, Jan van Eyck was a leading portraitist; The Arnolfini Marriage (1434, National
Gallery, London) is a detailed full length portrait of a couple. Leading German portrait artists include
Hans Holbein the Younger and Albrecht Dürer.
During the baroque and rococo periods (17th century and 18th century, respectively),

Nakae Chomin’s Discourse
Nakae Chomin s Discourse was published in 1887, a period that demarcated a crucial turning point in
Japan s politics and economy. The book itself suggested the great debate that the people of Japan were
having in deciding the future of the nation, and draws on Chomin s studies on Western politics in
France and his journalistic and political involvements in Japan.
The Discourse acts as a forum for the exploration of the political pathways that Japan could follow
following the Meiji Restoration in 1868. At a time when Japan had just begun to consolidate herself,
Chomin s Discourse was aimed at discussing Japan s long term trajectory through three imaginary
mouthpieces, The Gentleman of Western Learning , his opposition The Champion of ... Show more

Survival and prosperity of the nation are thus of utmost importance.
He poses a rhetoric question to the Gentleman, If anyone says that quarrelling is a vice and war an
absurdity, le me ask him to consider this: What can be done about the fact that individuals actually
possess vices? What can be done about the fact that they act absurdly? In short, what can be done
about reality? (Pg. 94). In short, he postulates that wars exist in the real world. And because of wars,
there was a need for armies. In addition, in an international scene where military was used as a basis
for negotiation (e.g. arrival of the Kurofune with Commodore Matthew Perry) and where the
European nations are not afraid of taking advantage of weaker nations (e.g. unequal treaties forced
onto Qing China after the two Opium Wars), militarization of Japan is now far more important than
before.
The Champion goes as far as to propose the invasion of a large country... vast and rich in natural
resources (Pg. 99) which will fuel the advancement of Japan at an unprecedented speed into a world
power. This case, very much aligned to realpolitik, illustrates that the Champion and Chomin both
understood that Japan held an insignificant role in international politics in the 19th century due to its
small size and limited resources, and that the policies that Japan makes should be directed towards
nullifying such structural

Lying Is A Common Social Phenomenon. In Any Social Context,
Lying is a common social phenomenon. In any social context, it presents itself as a factor to hijack any
interaction. From a young age, introductions to the ethics of lying are conducted. Arguments as
ancient as ancient as Greek philosophers often arise on whether lying in general is right or wrong
more specifically lying to children. A little lie here, a small one there, drizzle a bit of Santa Claus into
the mix, and one ends up with the bad recipe for incredulity and mistrust. It s that mistrust and damage
to credulity that is a snowball that continuously rolls down the hill, getting bigger and doing more
damage. There are generally two types of lies that are presented to children, ones that destroy morals
and ones that are perceived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The parents themselves don t support their own child lying, but what does the child think about the
parent lying. As the child gets older, his or her moral evaluation of both lies and truth becomes
submersed in doubt. One does not know said child s evaluation without understanding their
developments. White lies, ones that prove to be harmless and trivial such as the Santa Lie, are
messages that confuse children altogether. Parents hope to teach morals such as lying is always bad,
but at the same time cross their fingers and act deceitfully in order to make life easier. The child just
ends up confused. Not all lies have negative consequences for the other person, and not all truths have
positive consequences for someone else (Carson 1988). The delicate balance between a child s moral
understanding is impossible to determine and predict, but it does not stop people from trying to
comprehend it. Lies tend to snowball and evolve, making it easier to lie in the future. Before, the
science of lying was a pseudo science full of uncertainty, but recently studies came to light which
supporting the theory that one lie makes future lies easier. This digression of the moral code and
increase of corruption are seen as a numbing agent to the brain. In a study by Neil Garrett, 80 people
were shown a jar full of pennies and given different guidelines on the lies that were to say. Each
guideline will determine if the lie resulted in the individual receiving

Harry S. Truman s Life
Over seventy years ago, one may have thought that one of most courageous, hard working, honest,
and loyal men was sworn into office as the President of the United States. Harry S. Truman was
considered One Tough Son of a Bitch due to his expertise, not because of his ordinary, basic look or
lack of college education. No matter how people perceived him, Truman had industrial strength; he
stood his ground on his beliefs. His life would take him one of the most elaborate rides one could
experience. Truman s formative years taught him endurance, his life in the war taught him courage,
and presidency taught him resilience. Although when growing up Truman was never allowed to
roughhouse or horseplay with other children because his mother truly sheltered him because of his
glasses. He considered himself a sissy and a bookworm. Truman worked on the Truman Farm. He was
a real farmer, he worked in all types of weather, with crops that had failed to insect plagues to debt.
His family was never out of debt. Truman lived with no electricity or running water and experienced a
young life of hardships. As a young boy he stood in the kitchen and watched a country doctor give his
mother an emergency appendectomy on their kitchen table while he held the lantern so that the doctor
perform the surgery. As a matter of fact, after Harry Vaughn learned and knew all of these things about
Truman, this is why his old friend Vaughn called him one tough son of a bitch of a man. Vaughn knew

Importance Of Voting In Democracy
Mandatory voting has been a topic of debate in democratic countries since the creation of democratic
republics themselves. Voting is a crucial part of democracy because it determines who will be the
leaders of both the voters and nonvoters. It is the right of a citizen to vote, but whether or not it is the
responsibility remains disputed. However, voting must be performed with a basic understanding of
policy and what it takes for someone to fit the role which they are running for. Voting should not be
compulsory because it results in more uneducated voting that counteracts the educated voting.
In Democracy, it is left to the citizens to make decisions, instead of a single monarchical leader. Voting
in a Democracy is a responsibility, which is why most countries have age restrictions on it. Voting
requires education. If someone is running for President of a country, education is knowing and
understanding what their general policies are, as well as how they react to stress and criticism. A
relatively small portion of the U.S. citizen population is actually qualified to vote. Qualifications for
this are merely a moderate grasp on the candidate s foreign and domestic approach.
There is no denying that a substantial amount of the general public who are citizens are uneducated in
regards to politics and policies, but only a fraction of them cast their votes on voting day. This is
beneficial to the voting poll because voting is most efficient when it only contains well informed

Revelation Narrative
Revelation By : Hunter Newell I had only been in school for a mere few hours, but the reality had
already started to settle in. My first four hours of the day were nothing to stress about, they were as
easy as sinking a layup, but as the day went on, my eyes got heavier and the classes only got harder. I
thought after listening to my first four teachers talk, that things were going to be as easy as last year, I
thought I wouldn t have to stress, and it would be a cakewalk once again, I thought that I wouldn t
have to study, just as I had done last school year. That all changed when I walked through the door of
my fifth hour class. It was that moment that I realized that this school year was going to be nothing

from the traumatizing events that had occurred earlier in the day. I started to realize that maybe such a
challenging course was not such a bad thing. After all I would be getting a head start on my college
credits. Instead of moping about how hard the class was going to be, I decided that I would accept the
challenge that was being thrown at me and do my best to succeed. I wish I could say that I had
completely dedicated to success in AP History, but that would be a lie, however I can proudly say that

The History Of Han China
Though the people of Islamic belief are scattered throughout China, the greatest concentration of
Muslims reside in the autonomous region of Xinjiang. This region is distinctly non Han in its ethnic
composition, since the Uyghurs account for nearly 75 percent of its population; the cultural makeup of
this region is comprised of Turkic language and beliefs in Islam (Clarke and Hayes 3). However, the
influx and growth of the Han Chinese population in Xinjiang has created a language barrier in which
the Uyghurs have become the regional minority. In the past, the Uyghurs have been continuously
oppressed and silenced by their rulers. Even today, the Uyghur are subject to unfair treatment in
respect to education and professional opportunities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the revolution, the CCP attempted to reconcile by introducing policies allowing ethnic and
religious expression. This allowed Uyghur scholars to express their versions of history and culture,
which was not always consistent with Chinese rhetoric.
Unfortunately, China is taking steps back on their allowance of Islamic and Uyghur language
expression in Xinjiang. In March 2017, China banned burqas and abnormal beards in Xinjiang
claiming the action as a crackdown on religious extremism (Dearden, China bans... ). In July 2017,
China went back on their allowance of Uyghur language in schools by banning its use in Xinjiang
(Staff, RFA. China Bans... ). In September 2017, the Chinese police ordered Muslims to hand in
copies of the Koran and prayer mats (Heffron, Chinese police... ). All of these efforts have been
claimed to regulate and reduce extremism.
One of the distinguishing characteristics between the Uyghurs and Han is the language, a difference
that can be detrimental for Uyghurs looking for success within the dominating Han society. While the
Han use Mandarin, the Uyghurs use a Turkic derivative that is significantly divergent. The Uyghurs
believe that their language is central to their ethnic identity and refuse to allow it to be forgotten
beneath the pressure of Mandarin use. However, it is difficult for

they are willing to help guess the total amount of crimes that is happening each year. There is a need

Food Waste Of The Global Food Chain
Different definitions of food waste with respect to the complexities of food supply chains are
discussed. Background information on how food is wasted is provided. Food waste in the global food
chain is reviewed in relation to the prospects for feeding a population of nine billion by 2050. A
significant gap exists in the understanding of the food waste implications in the economy of the
developing countries. For affluent economies, post consumer food waste accounts for the greatest
overall losses. To supplement the fragmentary picture and to gain a forward view, scholarly sources
were consulted, data recorded and analyzed. The analysis highlighted the scale of the problem, the
scope for improved system efficiencies and the challenges of affecting behavioral change to reduce
food waste. More to that, long term and short term effects of wasting food was listed and described.
A discussion of the comparative amounts of food being wasted, why it is wasted and who wastes it
most will take place. The strategies put in place by different countries to eliminate food waste will
illustrate that this food could be better used to alleviate starvation and reduce environmental waste.
Many countries are filled with individuals fighting starvation. On the other hand, there are many
people in the world who throw away perfectly fine foods just because they are full or they don t want
it anymore. The residents of this world need to start thinking twice about the food they waste. When

When Orthopedist considers which analgesia to use after Total knee arthroplasty

Over the last decade significant efforts have been made to improve pain control following TKA, but it

Disadvantages Of Flexible Working Systems
Nowadays, for most people, they may prefer choose the life without rigid or fixed usually. Instead, the
balance life should be flexible enough to take account of various circumstances, places, times, etc.
Consequently work as an important part of people s life, people will be likely to keep the balance of it.
Recently in many countries, the flexible working system is becoming more and more common in
institutions and companies. Some of these countries governments also support it, because the system
has low time and places requirements, and it is a new approach for employers which means it has the

employers to manage their companies by this system. In my opinion, flexible working is a new and
wonderful system for both of employers and employees. It can help people keep balance between
work and life whatever you are employer or employee. Comparing the advantages and disadvantages
of flexible working, I think it has more advantages and these flexible manage ways can make hard

disadvantages, we should believe that people can correct them little by little. In the future, the flexible

Descriptive Essay About A Restaurant
Gazing out the summer heat surrounded by the bold skyline, the rest of the city appears flat as if the
skyscrapers are all that stands. The soundtrack of the thriving brightly lit city plays beneath. The
constant high pitched notes of long blaring horns and traffic whisking by being enough to feel
overwhelmed even without the breathtaking view. Dining often at this luxury rooftop, I have been able
to see the unsettling truth, my own rushed reflection.
There is a long row with two small sized black sofa s sitting across from each other in the middle,
there is a glass table set with a flower arrangement long enough to reach from one end of the couch to
the other. With my laptop bag in one hand waiting at the hostess stand, I feel relieved, when I see that
there is seating all the way at the end away from the loud laughing crowd for me to choose. The
hostess has been viewing the arrangement of seating for the restaurant for what seems like forever to
decide where to seat me. I repeatedly look at my watch having reached such a high level of frustration
with waiting for the hostess to pick where she would like to have me seated. Everyone waiting to enter
the restaurant behind me jumps and directs their attention to me as a loud BOOM! Is heard, my hand
slams down on top of the hostess seating chart that she has been studying for the past decade to decide
where I should be seated. Loose papers and pens fly like confetti. Looking her in the eyes and fiercely

SLAVERY
The burning issue that led to the disruption of the union, however, was the debate over the future of
slavery. That dispute led to secession, and secession brought about a war in which the Northern and
Western states and territories fought to preserve the Union, and the South fought to establish Southern
independence as a new confederation of states under its own constitution. In the late 18th century, the
abolitionist movement began in the north and the country began to divide over the issue between north
and south. In 1820, the Missouri Compromise banned slavery in all new western territories, which
southern states saw as a threat to the institution of slavery itself. With the election in 1860 of Abraham

There were those in the antislavery movement that proposed legislation that would actually purchase
the freedom of slaves, as had happened in Europe. This sort of solution would have ended slavery, but

In contrast, the abolitionist movement sought to end slavery by any means necessary. So, famous

The radical abolitionists had no interested in ending slavery in a peaceful or legal way. They wanted to

Facts: Donna Vizcaino, Jon R. Waite, Mark Stout, Geoffrey Culbert, Lesley Stuart, Thomas Morgan,
Elizabeth Spokoiny, and Larry Spokoiny sued on behalf of themselves and a court certified class
against Microsoft Corporation and its various pension and welfare plans, including its Employee

From the employer/employee social prospective, this case almost certainly, negatively impacts the
relationship between the two. Neither party can conclude what is mandatory or up for bargain when
contracting with one another. These imposed contracts have the unnecessary consequence of forcing
employers to retroactively extend to workers optional benefits for which they did not contract. Rules:

Female Episodic Memory Research Paper
Introduction
Memory is described as a group of related and interacting processes that enable us to acquire, retain
and retrieve information. Information is first encoded so that it can be retained in memory. It is then
stored where it can be retrieved so that we are consciously attentive to it. Information first enters
sensory memory and if it is attended to, it can be transferred to short term memory (STM) where it is
retained for about six seconds and then to long term memory (LTM). Information can then be
transferred from LTM to STM when needed and stored again. At any stage, memory can be lost if it
isn t encoded or stored. In order to encode information into LTM, one of two processes must take
place. This investigation focuses on effortful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Rocky Shore Investigation
Rocky Shore Investigation
Null Hypothesis:
There is no pattern to the distribution of organisms over a rocky shore.
Variables:
Factors that affect the distribution of organisms over an area of shoreline are:
· The depth of water which may cover an organism at high tide.
· How resistant an organism in the littoral zone is to dessication.
· How efficiently an organism can conserve water.
· The proximity and availability of nutrition.
Stations ========
I think that stations 1 4 are in the sub littoral zone of the rocky shore.
Stations 5 12 are in the mid littoral zone.
Stations 13 15 are in the splash zone.
I know this through observation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also they may not inhabit zones 13, 14 and 15 because there is nothing for them to feed on there.
Limpets were most common in stations 9 12, therefore we can deduce that the predominate seaweeds
here are what they mainly feed on. The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus
vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up
in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume that this is where they like to graze. Out of
Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion
availability the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well adapted of all the marine snails for a
life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own home an exact spot on the rock where it
stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard
rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock s shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful
of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it
difficult for birds to prise off the limpet.
The periwinkles (Melarhaphe neritoides) on the shore are much more spaced out and were found in
every quadrat bar one. They were also in abundance in the mid littoral zone in quadrat 9 with a
number of 25. Periwinkles, when

Compare And Contrast Christopher Columbus And John Smith
Christopher Columbus and John Smith are both similar in the fact that they made their kin very proud
and became famous of their accounts of unexplored territory. Though their ideas of what to do with
what they encountered was different, they both were very brave men. They were different in a way
though. Columbus believed that there was a great value in terms of wealth to the natural resources he
saw on the islands and he used a different rhetoric to explain it. John Smith saw economic growth
possibilities in the fertile New England area that had a vast amount of natural resources, he also
valued different commodities than Columbus.
Christopher Columbus s description of the natural resources that he finds was actually quite similar to
John Smith s. Columbus s idea was different from Smith s though, he thought that these natural
resources were much more valuable in terms of wealth. When Columbus saw the beautiful stretches of
land that America had to offer he was excited of the riches that it will bring him and his mother
country Spain. Columbus believed that there was gold to be found in America and that America
stretched bigger than England. John Smith encountered natural resources like crops and fish in New
England, For hunting also: the woods, lakes and rivers afford not only chase sufficient, for any that
delights in that kind of toil, or pleasure;...pay. (Smith 125). The animals that John Smith run into are

Mary Oliver s Poetry By Mary Oliver
How do authors generate ideas when writing? Many authors shape their works by reflecting on
occurrences in their lives. While some utilize positive occurrences, more often than not, poets
incorporate unpleasant experiences in their compositions. Mary Oliver exhibits this technique by
incorporating her tough childhood into her poetry. ...with words, I could build a world I could live in. I
had a very dysfunctional family, and a very hard childhood. So I made a world out of words. And it
was my salvation (Shriver). As a result of her sufferings, Oliver also turned to nature for inspiration.
Mary Oliver s works focused on her observations in nature, which provided an escape from reality.
Mary Oliver s experiences in life profoundly influenced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oliver writes about child molestation: You are the dark song/of the morning/serious and slow/you
shave, you dress/you descend the stairs/in your public clothes.../But you are also the red song/in the
night/stumbling through the house/to the child s bed/to the damp rose of her body/leaving your bitter
taste ( Rage 1 16). It is obvious the child feels violated and victimized by this despicable act. Oliver
vividly describes how this traumatic experience shaped this child s adult life: and you see how the
child grows/timidly, crouching in corners/...you hear the most mournful cry ( Rage 22 25). Oliver
suppressed these feelings of abuse for a very long time and not knowing what to do, for she feared her
oppressive father and felt that she was the one to blame. Sexual abuse is very painful to deal with,
especially when you have no one to turn to seek comfort and help. It took years of her life to learn
how to love and be loved in return. It is truly remarkable that from such darkness in her childhood,
Oliver emerged stronger, braver, and more trusting. She successfully liberated herself from such tragic
experiences, and serves as a role model in

Would Anyone Engage In Smoking Cigarettes If Each Cigarette
Would anyone engage in smoking cigarettes if each cigarette had an effect written on the side, such as
lethal, or fatal? Advertisements pop up on the TV commercials, in newspapers, and magazines that
illustrate the reality of what happens when engaging in smoking tobacco, but yet people still smoke
cigarettes. Some of these advertisements campaigning against big tobacco companies use pretty
graphic and shocking images to convince the population that tobacco is just awful for the body. Health
organizations use real people that have had their lives destroyed by smoking, and show us the real
effects associated with tobacco, yet people still chose to smoke. Observing this advertisement, the

push whomever they know to kick smoking to the side, and prevent major health issues. The first
element of persuasion we will explore in this ad is Pathos. Looking at the laundry list of harmful
effects in plain white blunt text, words like cancer, fatal, and disease really come out and smack the
audience with a shocking reality. These words put a depth to how dangerous smoking is. The majority
of the advertisement is black with white text, nothing fancy, just straight to the point. A blunt
informative way of addressing where this ad stands on smoking. The smoker in this ad is loading a
black revolver with cigarettes. A weapon is a powerful way of causing death and harm, as are
cigarettes. A loaded gun is dangerous, the smoker is pulling the trigger on his own life with every drag
they take from that cigarette. The reader feels fear for the smoker and sees the danger that is
associated with smoking. A person can really feel pity for the smoker, there s information all over this
advertisement about how harmful smoking is yet a smoker lights up regardless of the warnings. The

Dr. Einstein And Sigmund Freud Essay
Soumaya Bahlouli Make Up Monthly Annotation 1. The Einstein Freud Correspondence, by Albert
Einstein and Sigmund Freud in the years 1931 and 1932, with references to articles and
correspondences that will be cited parenthetically. 2. The correspondence shared between Einstein and
Freud discussed the psychoanalytical aspect of war and how human character, flaw and greed affect
the causes and effects of war. Einstein reached out to Freud after the First World War, as requested to
do so by the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation (IIIC), to discuss what he called a
subject calculated to serve the common interest of the League of Nations and of intellectual life. His
central argument surrounds wars between nations, international affairs, but agrees that these greater
wars must originate at the individual. Einstein continues, not to explain why men engage in acts of
war and violence, but to suggest ways in which war can be resolved by setting up, by international
consent, of a legislative and judicial body to settle every conflict arising between nations... [that
would] abide by the orders issued by this legislative body, to invoke its decision in every dispute, to
accept its judgments unreservedly and to carry out every measure the tribunal deems necessary... He
believes that laws governed by the community, instead of individualistic oligarchies, will do well to
succeed. This does eventually somewhat translate to actual law during World War II: First, that

The Issue Of Child Soldiers
Every day, thousands of children around the world wake up in the morning, grab their shoes and
backpacks and head to school. Thousands of other children pick up their AK 47s and head to battle.
The issue of child soldiers is as complex as it is atrocious, and its heinous nature has prompted the
international community to pour vast amounts of time and resources into finding a solution. Despite
humanitarian and government organizations best efforts, the numbers have remained relatively static
over the decades, with over 300,000 underage combatants worldwide (Vautravers 96). Many scholars
have declared the U.N. s current policy as a failure and offered up proposals of their own, ranging
from placement of sanctions to international ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the use of child soldiers is not a new occurrence, the real international push to end the practice
did not begin until the late eighties, with the 1989 Convention of the Rights of a Child, or the CRC. It
quickly gained over 190 signatures, making it one of the most ratified U.N. documents in history and
ushering in a new era that prioritized child rights and fought injustice (Singer 569). However, since
then the number of child soldiers has remained relatively stagnant, with 85 countries utilizing child
soldiers in armed groups as of 2004 (Kargbo 487).
Some scholars, such as P.W. Singer in his article, Talk is Cheap: Getting Serious about Preventing
Child Soldiers, would contend that current legislation lacks teeth, allowing militant groups to run
rampant and flout responsibilities without consequence. For example, a rebel group in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo, or DRC, promised not to use child soldiers, only to continue flaunting its
underage army weeks later (Singer 571). Since the U.N. lacks any methods of enforcing legislation
other than diplomatic pressure, which is rarely successful, armed groups will often deliberately
disregard standards set forth and receive little or no punishment. This, coupled with the fact that most
commanders these standards are aimed at are either illiterate or out of reach of state authority, makes
almost all current legislation useless (Kargbo 490). A possible solution that

How Is Lady Capulet Careless
Lad Capulet= Carelessness In Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Lady Capulet showcases that; she
plays as a carless character throughout the play. Firstly, Juliet tries to explain how she does not want to

do not, make the bridal bed. In that dim monument where Tybalt lies. (III. V. 198 201) Lady Capulet
replies, Talk not to me, for I ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee. (III.V. 201

Capulet does not speak against her husband, Lord Capulet because she does not want to irritate nor

The Rich And The Poor
Two nations between whom there is no intercourse and no sympathy; who are as ignorant of each
other s habits, thoughts, and feelings, as if they were dwellers in different zones, or inhabitants of
different planets.... The rich and the poor. Benjamin Disraeli, a former prime minister of Great Britain
during the Victorian Era, published these words in the novel Sybil, or The Two Nations as the central
definition of the island nation during the Victorian Age. This description having prevailed during the
era does little to address the multifaceted social structures encountered during this time. This essay
will examine that while the labeling of the Victorian rich and poor as Two Nations is too vague, it is
often ambiguous as well.
While there were some definitive social boundaries between the richest and the poorest in Victorian
society, the economics of the time significantly diluted some of these boundaries. The jobs that some
of the working poor of Victorian London held had to be in tandem with the late spring and early
summer social season and again in the fall with the opening of Parliament (Ross 45). This seasonal
shift in the availability of work for the poor is directly related to the calendar, which the upper class
abided by. This synchronicity is an example of the dynamic involvement that these classes had one
another. Without the poor of Great Britain to wait upon them, to dress them, and to even feed them,
the upper class as well as the upper middle class

Analysis Key Issue My internship term at EPRA has gone by with minimal issues. I have genuinely
enjoyed working with all of my colleagues and the position itself has been interesting. I would say that
the largest issue facing EPRA as a whole would be the distrust on environmental initiatives that was
previously discussed. There has, however, been a prevailing issue with my job specifically. As
mentioned, the auditing department at EPRA is relatively new. Due to this, very few employees have

Reflecting On Impact Of Iron
Reflecting on impact of Iron
Iron is part of the most found elements in the earth. Around 5.6% of the earth s crust has been
composed of it, and almost the entire core of the earth. In addition, Iron has been discovered about
5000 years ago, and the name comes from the Scandinavian word iarn . [1]
For this essay, my task is to describe the impact of Iron on society. Furthermore, I will research about
the chemical and physical properties of Iron, the obtaining of Iron, and the uses through history and
lastly I will compare the metal with the metals that were used beforehand, and what impact the
discovery had on society. For this essay, my research question is: How has the discovery of Iron
affected the society? In my opinion the discovery of Iron didn t have such a great affection for the
society and how they handled, because the people only changed from bronze to another like metal.
Everything they could do before, could be done with the Iron too. ... Show more content on

Iron is a bright and shiny white metal that is strong, ductile, malleable and soft. The color of the
surface of Iron is regularly affected by corrosion, as it easily rusts because it easily combines with the
oxygen in the air when moisture is present, but in absolute dry air, the Iron doesn t rust. [3] The metal
is ductile, because it can easily be stretched or pulled into a thin line/wire. Iron is malleable, because it
is possible to be bent and shaped. Iron can also be easily magnetized. The metal is likewise a very
good conductor of electricity and heat. [4] At room temperature the metal is solid, the melting point is
1535.1 oC, and the boiling point is 3000oC.

The Pros And Cons Of Living Off-Campus
Living off campus provides challenging opportunities for personal growth (Oberlin College, 2017).
Students who live in far areas prefer to have a rental house in order to have an easy access to their

experiences. It leads to a more independent lifestyle, build a good relationship between the landlord
and tenants, deals with the different personalities of roommates, commuting, wise household
budgeting (e.g. to pay for rent, foods, gas, and other utilities of their rental house). On the other hand,
students that live off campus when not supervised may lead them to risks.

Analysis Of Lady Lazarus By Sylvia Plath
The poem Lady Lazarus by the late Sylvia Plath uses several different literary devices. However, one
stands out more than the rest: Enjambment. The poem has an abundance of uses of enjambment; in
fact, a majority of the stanzas in the poem include the device.
Despite the separation of each stanza, they are all connected through enjambment. Nearly all the
stanzas end with an unfinished sentence or thought, and the first line of the following stanza continues
or completes it. This separation informs the reader of a change of subject, either mild or extreme, but
provides the knowledge that the subjects are still connected. Simultaneously, the break also provides
the emphasis designated to each separate thought.
Though the device is important in every use, the uses following the first stanza are more important in
this poem. That is, these uses bring more meaning. They crack the sentence open like a shell, and the
seed inside is a deeper understanding. The emphasis the break in a sentence provides in poetry is one
of the key components of conveying the mood of the poem.
There is an immediate use of enjambment in this first stanza. The third line is the continuation of the
second sentence, cut off to add emphasis to what Plath is trying to say. Moreover, the break between
the sentence allows emphasis to become present, consequently strengthening the message she is trying
to convey.
The next examples are the second and third stanzas. The sentence begins in line 4 the beginning of

With roots in pastoralism, the Maasai live an intriguing life with traditions unlike any in the world. Language, marriage, societal statuses, the economy, religion, and health are fundamental in appreciating all that the Maasai have to offer. The warriors of the savannas red clothing signify power, and with that comes a powerful amount of knowledge that is still being learned. Like any other culture, the way of communication plays a pivotal role in the daily lives of the Maasai people. The governments of Kenya and Tanzania do not support the Maasai lifestyle and have come close to causing the traditions to completely dwindle away. The Maasai used to have free reign in their area of the East Africa, but land allocation has interfered with this freedom ( Maasai ). There is still so much that can be learned from the Maasai, and as we continue to study their culture, we can begin to truly understand the warriors of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Comparison Of Betty Neuman s Systems Model Comparison Assignment Betty Neuman s systems model is a systems theory that emphasizes the importance of the complex and ongoing interactions among all subsystems of an individual (Hood, 2014, p.128). Neuman s systems model focuses on decreasing external, internal, and environmental factors that could adversely affect an individual. Furthermore, Neuman s system model explains that these stressors can cause a specific response and a unique reaction that consequently wears off the defense lines that protect the person s inner core and preserve their health and well being (Hood, 2014, p.131). In contrast, Callista Roy s adaption model is a stress/adaption theory based on the premise that human response can adapt and change in terms of accommodation (Hood, 2014, p. 133). Roy s adaption model explains that human response to stimuli is dictated by the individual s adaptive modes, type of stimuli they were confronted by, level of adaption, and ability to cope (Hood, 2014). Moreover, as Hood (2014) states, a person s adaption level is determined by its response to a combination of focal, contextual, and residual stimuli. While Roy s adaption ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the fact that both theorists targeted goals aim to decrease adverse stressors and unwanted stimuli through interventions that enable a patient to maintain optimal health by means of positive coping and prompt identification of stressor, their means to attain patient s goal are a somehow dissimilar. Neuman s system model interventions are targeted towards primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention (Hood, 2014, p. 168) with the aim to fortify the person s lines of defense. Although, Roy s adaption model interventions are also aimed to improve coping mechanisms and to reduce stressors, they are specific to the improving adaption modes and optimizing adaption levels of the individual due to the combination of stressors such as focal, contextual, and residual (Hood, ... • 4. History of Portraiture Essay example History of Portraiture Portraiture is a visual representation of an individual people, distinguished by references to the subject s character, social position, wealth, or profession. Portraitists often strive for exact visual likenesses. However, although the viewer s correct identification of the sitter is of primary importance, exact replication is not always the goal. Artists may intentionally alter the appearance of their subjects by embellishing or refining their images to emphasize or minimize particular qualities (physical, psychological, or social) of the subject. Viewers sometimes praise most highly those images that seem to look very little like the sitter because these images are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Romans were expert in rendering individuals. Some scholars have argued that it was the practice of making and keeping death masks of ancestors (worn by survivors in the funeral processions) that accounts for the enormous skill with which Roman portraitists captured the individuality of their subjects. Many portrait busts survive, including images of Roman rulers as well as poignant representations of aged citizens. Especially noteworthy are the mummy portraits from the region of Al FayyÅ«m in Egypt. Painted during the 2nd century ad, these portraits depict individuals who stare wide eyed at the viewer. These slightly simplified representations of staring subjects anticipate the severity and frontal orientation of early medieval portraits. The Renaissance marked a turning point in the history of portraiture. Partly out of interest in the natural world and partly out of interest in the classical cultures of ancient Greece and Rome, portraits both painted and sculpted were given an important role in Renaissance society. In the Netherlands, Jan van Eyck was a leading portraitist; The Arnolfini Marriage (1434, National Gallery, London) is a detailed full length portrait of a couple. Leading German portrait artists include Hans Holbein the Younger and Albrecht Dürer. During the baroque and rococo periods (17th century and 18th century, respectively), ... • 5. Nakae Chomin’s Discourse Nakae Chomin s Discourse was published in 1887, a period that demarcated a crucial turning point in Japan s politics and economy. The book itself suggested the great debate that the people of Japan were having in deciding the future of the nation, and draws on Chomin s studies on Western politics in France and his journalistic and political involvements in Japan. The Discourse acts as a forum for the exploration of the political pathways that Japan could follow following the Meiji Restoration in 1868. At a time when Japan had just begun to consolidate herself, Chomin s Discourse was aimed at discussing Japan s long term trajectory through three imaginary mouthpieces, The Gentleman of Western Learning , his opposition The Champion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Survival and prosperity of the nation are thus of utmost importance. He poses a rhetoric question to the Gentleman, If anyone says that quarrelling is a vice and war an absurdity, le me ask him to consider this: What can be done about the fact that individuals actually possess vices? What can be done about the fact that they act absurdly? In short, what can be done about reality? (Pg. 94). In short, he postulates that wars exist in the real world. And because of wars, there was a need for armies. In addition, in an international scene where military was used as a basis for negotiation (e.g. arrival of the Kurofune with Commodore Matthew Perry) and where the European nations are not afraid of taking advantage of weaker nations (e.g. unequal treaties forced onto Qing China after the two Opium Wars), militarization of Japan is now far more important than before. The Champion goes as far as to propose the invasion of a large country... vast and rich in natural resources (Pg. 99) which will fuel the advancement of Japan at an unprecedented speed into a world power. This case, very much aligned to realpolitik, illustrates that the Champion and Chomin both understood that Japan held an insignificant role in international politics in the 19th century due to its small size and limited resources, and that the policies that Japan makes should be directed towards nullifying such structural ... • 6. Lying Is A Common Social Phenomenon. In Any Social Context, Lying is a common social phenomenon. In any social context, it presents itself as a factor to hijack any interaction. From a young age, introductions to the ethics of lying are conducted. Arguments as ancient as ancient as Greek philosophers often arise on whether lying in general is right or wrong more specifically lying to children. A little lie here, a small one there, drizzle a bit of Santa Claus into the mix, and one ends up with the bad recipe for incredulity and mistrust. It s that mistrust and damage to credulity that is a snowball that continuously rolls down the hill, getting bigger and doing more damage. There are generally two types of lies that are presented to children, ones that destroy morals and ones that are perceived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The parents themselves don t support their own child lying, but what does the child think about the parent lying. As the child gets older, his or her moral evaluation of both lies and truth becomes submersed in doubt. One does not know said child s evaluation without understanding their developments. White lies, ones that prove to be harmless and trivial such as the Santa Lie, are messages that confuse children altogether. Parents hope to teach morals such as lying is always bad, but at the same time cross their fingers and act deceitfully in order to make life easier. The child just ends up confused. Not all lies have negative consequences for the other person, and not all truths have positive consequences for someone else (Carson 1988). The delicate balance between a child s moral understanding is impossible to determine and predict, but it does not stop people from trying to comprehend it. Lies tend to snowball and evolve, making it easier to lie in the future. Before, the science of lying was a pseudo science full of uncertainty, but recently studies came to light which supporting the theory that one lie makes future lies easier. This digression of the moral code and increase of corruption are seen as a numbing agent to the brain. In a study by Neil Garrett, 80 people were shown a jar full of pennies and given different guidelines on the lies that were to say. Each guideline will determine if the lie resulted in the individual receiving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Harry S. Truman s Life Over seventy years ago, one may have thought that one of most courageous, hard working, honest, and loyal men was sworn into office as the President of the United States. Harry S. Truman was considered One Tough Son of a Bitch due to his expertise, not because of his ordinary, basic look or lack of college education. No matter how people perceived him, Truman had industrial strength; he stood his ground on his beliefs. His life would take him one of the most elaborate rides one could experience. Truman s formative years taught him endurance, his life in the war taught him courage, and presidency taught him resilience. Although when growing up Truman was never allowed to roughhouse or horseplay with other children because his mother truly sheltered him because of his glasses. He considered himself a sissy and a bookworm. Truman worked on the Truman Farm. He was a real farmer, he worked in all types of weather, with crops that had failed to insect plagues to debt. His family was never out of debt. Truman lived with no electricity or running water and experienced a young life of hardships. As a young boy he stood in the kitchen and watched a country doctor give his mother an emergency appendectomy on their kitchen table while he held the lantern so that the doctor perform the surgery. As a matter of fact, after Harry Vaughn learned and knew all of these things about Truman, this is why his old friend Vaughn called him one tough son of a bitch of a man. Vaughn knew ... • 8. Importance Of Voting In Democracy Mandatory voting has been a topic of debate in democratic countries since the creation of democratic republics themselves. Voting is a crucial part of democracy because it determines who will be the leaders of both the voters and nonvoters. It is the right of a citizen to vote, but whether or not it is the responsibility remains disputed. However, voting must be performed with a basic understanding of policy and what it takes for someone to fit the role which they are running for. Voting should not be compulsory because it results in more uneducated voting that counteracts the educated voting. In Democracy, it is left to the citizens to make decisions, instead of a single monarchical leader. Voting in a Democracy is a responsibility, which is why most countries have age restrictions on it. Voting requires education. If someone is running for President of a country, education is knowing and understanding what their general policies are, as well as how they react to stress and criticism. A relatively small portion of the U.S. citizen population is actually qualified to vote. Qualifications for this are merely a moderate grasp on the candidate s foreign and domestic approach. There is no denying that a substantial amount of the general public who are citizens are uneducated in regards to politics and policies, but only a fraction of them cast their votes on voting day. This is beneficial to the voting poll because voting is most efficient when it only contains well informed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My first four hours of the day were nothing to stress about, they were as easy as sinking a layup, but as the day went on, my eyes got heavier and the classes only got harder. I thought after listening to my first four teachers talk, that things were going to be as easy as last year, I thought I wouldn t have to stress, and it would be a cakewalk once again, I thought that I wouldn t have to study, just as I had done last school year. This allowed Uyghur scholars to express their versions of history and culture, which was not always consistent with Chinese rhetoric. The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume that this is where they like to graze. Out of Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion availability the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well adapted of all the marine snails for a life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own home an exact spot on the rock where it stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock s shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it difficult for birds to prise off the limpet.

Despite humanitarian and government organizations best efforts, the numbers have remained relatively static over the decades, with over 300,000 underage combatants worldwide (Vautravers 96). Many scholars have declared the U.N. s current policy as a failure and offered up proposals of their own, ranging from placement of sanctions to international ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the use of child soldiers is not a new occurrence, the real international push to end the practice did not begin until the late eighties, with the 1989 Convention of the Rights of a Child, or the CRC. It quickly gained over 190 signatures, making it one of the most ratified U.N. documents in history and ushering in a new era that prioritized child rights and fought injustice (Singer 569). However, since then the number of child soldiers has remained relatively stagnant, with 85 countries utilizing child soldiers in armed groups as of 2004 (Kargbo 487). Some scholars, such as P.W. Singer in his article, Talk is Cheap: Getting Serious about Preventing Child Soldiers, would contend that current legislation lacks teeth, allowing militant groups to run rampant and flout responsibilities without consequence. For example, a rebel group in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or DRC, promised not to use child soldiers, only to continue flaunting its underage army weeks later (Singer 571). Since the U.N. lacks any methods of enforcing legislation other than diplomatic pressure, which is rarely successful, armed groups will often deliberately disregard standards set forth and receive little or no punishment. This, coupled with the fact that most commanders these standards are aimed at are either illiterate or out of reach of state authority, makes almost all current legislation useless (Kargbo 490). A possible solution that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. How Is Lady Capulet Careless Lad Capulet= Carelessness In Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Lady Capulet showcases that; she plays as a carless character throughout the play. Firstly, Juliet tries to explain how she does not want to marry Paris, O sweet my mother, cast me not away! Delay this marriage for a month, a week, or if you do not, make the bridal bed. In that dim monument where Tybalt lies. (III. V. 198 201) Lady Capulet replies, Talk not to me, for I ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee. (III.V. 201 202) Here it showcases, that she did not care about her anymore at this point as well with she does not want anything to do with Juliet. As a mother I would talk to her about the problem and help find a solution to make things well, but she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (III.V.139 140) Here it shows, Lady Capulet does not speak against her husband, Lord Capulet because she does not want to irritate nor disappoint him and Juliet. Overall, her mother does not stand up for her own daughter s opinions. • 33. The Rich And The Poor Two nations between whom there is no intercourse and no sympathy; who are as ignorant of each other s habits, thoughts, and feelings, as if they were dwellers in different zones, or inhabitants of different planets.... The rich and the poor. Benjamin Disraeli, a former prime minister of Great Britain during the Victorian Era, published these words in the novel Sybil, or The Two Nations as the central definition of the island nation during the Victorian Age. This description having prevailed during the era does little to address the multifaceted social structures encountered during this time. This essay will examine that while the labeling of the Victorian rich and poor as Two Nations is too vague, it is often ambiguous as well. While there were some definitive social boundaries between the richest and the poorest in Victorian society, the economics of the time significantly diluted some of these boundaries. The jobs that some of the working poor of Victorian London held had to be in tandem with the late spring and early summer social season and again in the fall with the opening of Parliament (Ross 45). This seasonal shift in the availability of work for the poor is directly related to the calendar, which the upper class abided by. This synchronicity is an example of the dynamic involvement that these classes had one another. Without the poor of Great Britain to wait upon them, to dress them, and to even feed them, the upper class as well as the upper middle class ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Internship Analysis Paper Analysis Key Issue My internship term at EPRA has gone by with minimal issues. I have genuinely enjoyed working with all of my colleagues and the position itself has been interesting. I would say that the largest issue facing EPRA as a whole would be the distrust on environmental initiatives that was previously discussed. There has, however, been a prevailing issue with my job specifically. As mentioned, the auditing department at EPRA is relatively new. Due to this, very few employees have had to be trained as a compliance analyst in the past. To be specific, only six people (including the four that are currently on the team) have had to learn the position. Included in the six are two employees who were hired to help start the auditing department ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Reflecting On Impact Of Iron Reflecting on impact of Iron Iron is part of the most found elements in the earth. Around 5.6% of the earth s crust has been composed of it, and almost the entire core of the earth. In addition, Iron has been discovered about 5000 years ago, and the name comes from the Scandinavian word iarn . [1] For this essay, my task is to describe the impact of Iron on society. Furthermore, I will research about the chemical and physical properties of Iron, the obtaining of Iron, and the uses through history and lastly I will compare the metal with the metals that were used beforehand, and what impact the discovery had on society. For this essay, my research question is: How has the discovery of Iron affected the society? In my opinion the discovery of Iron didn t have such a great affection for the society and how they handled, because the people only changed from bronze to another like metal. Everything they could do before, could be done with the Iron too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iron is a bright and shiny white metal that is strong, ductile, malleable and soft. The color of the surface of Iron is regularly affected by corrosion, as it easily rusts because it easily combines with the oxygen in the air when moisture is present, but in absolute dry air, the Iron doesn t rust. [3] The metal is ductile, because it can easily be stretched or pulled into a thin line/wire. Iron is malleable, because it is possible to be bent and shaped. Iron can also be easily magnetized. The metal is likewise a very good conductor of electricity and heat. [4] At room temperature the metal is solid, the melting point is 1535.1 oC, and the boiling point is 3000oC. ... • 36. The Pros And Cons Of Living Off-Campus Living off campus provides challenging opportunities for personal growth (Oberlin College, 2017). Students who live in far areas prefer to have a rental house in order to have an easy access to their school. In addition, Chapman University (2017), states that living off campus offers benefits and new experiences. It leads to a more independent lifestyle, build a good relationship between the landlord and tenants, deals with the different personalities of roommates, commuting, wise household budgeting (e.g. to pay for rent, foods, gas, and other utilities of their rental house). On the other hand, students that live off campus when not supervised may lead them to risks. Relative to the risk of fire, Magistrado (2010) reported that a student and ... • 37. Analysis Of Lady Lazarus By Sylvia Plath The poem Lady Lazarus by the late Sylvia Plath uses several different literary devices. However, one stands out more than the rest: Enjambment. The poem has an abundance of uses of enjambment; in fact, a majority of the stanzas in the poem include the device. Despite the separation of each stanza, they are all connected through enjambment. Nearly all the stanzas end with an unfinished sentence or thought, and the first line of the following stanza continues or completes it. This separation informs the reader of a change of subject, either mild or extreme, but provides the knowledge that the subjects are still connected. Simultaneously, the break also provides the emphasis designated to each separate thought. Though the device is important in every use, the uses following the first stanza are more important in this poem. That is, these uses bring more meaning. They crack the sentence open like a shell, and the seed inside is a deeper understanding. The emphasis the break in a sentence provides in poetry is one of the key components of conveying the mood of the poem. There is an immediate use of enjambment in this first stanza. The third line is the continuation of the second sentence, cut off to add emphasis to what Plath is trying to say. Moreover, the break between the sentence allows emphasis to become present, consequently strengthening the message she is trying to convey. The next examples are the second and third stanzas. The sentence begins in line 4 the beginning of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
