What any person in the world can learn almost all persons can learn if provided with
appropriate prior and current conditions of learning (Bloom, 2017). This belief was
held by Dr. Bloom in 1956 when he and his team created Bloom s Taxonomy. Since
then educators have been utilizing these goals of the learning process (Clark, 2015)
and making assumptions of its usage and implications. I too did have assumptions
but have not thought about how I developed them or how they would affect my use
of the taxonomy. When starting this reflection I held three assumptions true about
Bloom s Taxonomy. The first is if the educator uses Bloom s Taxonomy for planning
through assessment, then the student will develop higher order thinking skills.
Secondly, a student can move on to a higher order thinking level only if they first
mastered a lower order thinking level. Thirdly, if educations use different levels of
Bloom s Taxonomy in lessons students will retain more information. Interestingly, I
uncovered two additional assumptions that I did not know I had. The first of which
is that the focus on cognitive development of Bloom s devalues importance of other
domains. The other is that Bloom s Taxonomy is used only by educators in K 12 and

Neves addressed the question of Brando s memorability by examining his acting in
the 1954 movie On The Waterfront. Neves uses hearings by Elia Kazan (director of
On the Waterfront) by the House Committee of Un American Activities as a primary
source. This source was useful because it allowed Neves to gain information on the
film s background, in the director s own words.

biologically. His view of cognitive development would have us look inside a child s

In many texts, duty based in morality or religion is a common theme. It helps to
characterize the main characters as well as emphasize the conflict in the text. In
Middle Eastern texts, there was often a duty to other people. In French Renaissance
texts, the character s duty could be driven by moral or religious reasons. In French
and Middle Eastern texts, however, moral and religious dutyhelped to develop

Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is an architectural masterpiece from the 13th and 16th century.
There have been many coronations taken place there since 1066. There are many
tombs of great kings and famous people located there. There have also been sixteen
royal weddings that have taken place at the Abbey. The Abbey is not a cathedral or a
parish church. There have been countless profound occasions that have happened at
the Abbey. Westminster Abbeyhas much history packed into one building and has
had a large impact on English history.
At that time the Abbey had the newest style of Gothic style including ribbed
vaulting, rose windows, flying buttresses and pointed arches. The design of the
Abbey was greatly influenced by French architecture (The Editors of the
Encyclopedia, 2017). The architecture of the building has greatly influenced
English history in the fact that it was one of the tallest churches in England, along
with that it had narrower single aisles, that way it could look taller (Westminster
Abbey Faith at the Heart of a Nation). King Henry III wanted to create the Abbey
for a new Saint, and also for his own burial. There were three freemasons that
supervised the designing of the Abbey. Henry of Reyns was a major architect at that
time. It is unknown if he was English or French. He was greatly influenced by new
cathedrals at Reims, Amiens and Chartres (Westminster Abbey Faith at the Heart of a
Nation). There were also two other contributors named John of Gloucester and Robert
of Beverly.
King Henry III wanted to have it built for Edward the Confessor. Henry III was close
to Edward and knew that he was a good person and wanted it built for him. Henry
also wanted it built for his own burial so he would have a perfect resting place
where he could be honored. They were both indeed buried there along with several
other important people to English history. Even though the body of Edward the
Confessor was moved there later, the initial intent of Henry III still happened his
death.
There is also many pieces of artwork in Westminster Abbey that show various
important occasions in English history. One of the oldest pieces of artwork in the
Abbey is the retable, it was most likely used for
