Homeostasis
Homeostasis taken from the Greek words meaning homoios similar and stasis standing still, it is a
term used to explain the body s ability in maintaining a dynamic equilibrium within its internal
environment requiring the coordination of many physiological processes. The term Homeokinesis is
the process used to maintain and achieve homeostatsis with kinesis meaning movement would, as the
internal workings of the body are on constant movement to maintain this state of equilibrium.
Maintenance of homeostatic values are controlled and communicated through out the body via the
endocrine and nervous systems.
An understanding of both these concepts is pivotal to the understanding of the physiological needs and
requirements of the mammalian body, the nervous system and endocrine systems are the body s means
of communicating this balance in conjunction with external systems in turn relaying messages back to
the organs systems in their own specialized ways to target organs. Any deviation from this
fundamental state of internal wellbeing are relayed to the hypothalamus which coordinates the
responses needed to return the body back to a state of equilibrium via feed back loops. Though these
systems work differently they are not independent of one another and help maintain an organism s

Is it realistic for justice to effectively perform its function of keeping order without the rule of law? As
someone who lived all his life within in civil democracy, it is fair to say that I have biased, yet,
supportive views regarding need for order, law and institutions as a way to promote the pillar of
modern society: justice. This idea of the rule of law and civil process has not always been apart our

Schemas are important validation tools which can ensure data is valid and well formed for use. There
are different varieties that can be used to verify a document and ensure conformance to standards.
Some use a tree hierarchy and others just simple constructs. Lee and Chu (2000) note the following in
their paper; DTD, XSD, SOX, Schematron and DSD. Fawcett et al (2012) mention Schematron, DTD,
RELAX NG, and XSD. I will discuss some of these in comparison to DTD and XSD which are follow

DTD
This Schema type on uses attributes and elements and follows a hierarchy in structure type. It is very
simplistic and uses few attribute definitions, and does not follow XML type syntax. However, despite
its simplistic nature, it is the most widely used standard according to Lee and Chu (2000).
XSD
The true XML Schema Definition is very different from DTD in that it can be very granular in its
descriptive elements and follows XML syntax rules. This can make it very powerful, in its support of
namespaces and true data types, allowing for better conformity and use in data transformation and
query. Another strength of XML Schema is it inheritance, which can simplify some reuse of attributes

It was a really interesting and enjoying read. I value the author John Barry and his way of writing in
this book. His account for desribing the researchers and the origins of this disease in the first half of
the chronical, really detail the important aspects of how science research connects to real life epidemic
breakouts. Barry really gets descriptive in describing the actions of the American research physicians
who tracked the disease and tried to not only understand it but control it. While reading the first part

Death leads to many emotions. It can lead to anger, sorrow, joy, realization, or more violence. The
theme of death is a common occurrence in Akira Kurosawa s 1954 film, Seven Samurai, and Yojieo
Takita s 2009 film, Departures. Each death in these films served a purpose. However, each of these
films have death constructed in their own different ways. Departures showcased a respectful way for
dealing with the deceased. Seven Samurai showed a little bit of every emotion for the deceased, but it
seemed as though the 4 samurai, the main heroes, who died were not really emphasized compared to
those who the samurai had killed.
First, let s start off with the first death in Seven Samurai. This death scene was probably the most
memorable one. It starts around 24 minutes into the film, where Kambei, the soon to be leader of the
seven samurai, is disguised as a monk and kills a thief hiding in a shack with a hostage. While the
action of killing is not shown, the thief staggers out into open view before he dies. He then collapses
in dramatic fashion while the spectating villages are in awe with what just happened. Throughout this
scene, Kurosawa plays with slow motion, emphasising the spectacular nature of this first but rather
unimportant death.

Yellowstone volcano is one of the most explosive, active silicic volcanic fields in the world and is
classified as a super volcano . Its Late Quaternary history, in terms of ages, sizes and frequency of
eruptions, has been well documented (Farrell et al., 2014). Understanding its properties will help us to
better understand the hazards it poses, both now and in the future. As it is protected from geothermal
energy or mineral exploration and development, Yellowstone provides a unique opportunity to
research an undisturbed major volcanic system and the temporal and spatial changes that occur
naturally (Hurwitz Lowenstern, 2014).
This report discusses the history of Yellowstone volcanic complex over the past 2.1 million years,
eruptive style, compositions, associated hazards and the structure of the magma chamber. In addition,
we look at areas into which research is currently occurring or should in the future, and discuss a
strategy for monitoring and forecasting of future activity.

Over the past 2.1 million years, three large eruptions with widespread effects have occurred in the
Yellowstone Plateau Volcanic Field (YPVF) (Hurwitz Lowenstern, 2014). The first of these was 2.059
± 0.004 Ma (Lanphere et al., 2002), and produced the 2450 km3 Huckleberry Ridge Tuff. The second
