The Common Origins of the World’s Major Religions Essay
The Common Origins of the World s Major Religions
All too often in modern society it is the differences and conflicts that serve to separate religious
groups that are emphasized. The mainstream media, fundamentalists propaganda, and other sources
choose to ignore the numerous similarities that many religions share, and instead focus on the divisive
elements. In this paper, I will attempt to shed light on the many commonalities in dogma that I believe
exist between the major religions of the world. I also want to illustrate the fact that in addition to
having similar core teachings, many religions have histories that have either endured or arisen during
times of persecution. It is ironic that in many cases, the persecution that a ... Show more content on

Judaism The Jewish Bible points to Abraham and the covenant that God made with him in the Book of
Genesis. Yahweh s people as they are known, today Jews account for over fourteen million people.
Throughout their history, Jews have been persecuted for their faith as much as, if not more than the
followers of any other faith. From having the first temple of Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians
in 586BC to internment in Nazi concentration camps in the twentieth century, Jews communities have
remained solidly united through belief in the Diaspora and the goal of reestablishing the state of Israel.
Finally, in 1948, Israel once again regained its sovereignty; however, this has not brought an end to the
suffering and conflict that seems to have characterized Jewish life since its inception. Central to
Jewish dogma, is adherence to the Torah, or the Jewish Bible. The Torah, which is composed primarily
of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. While
the most notable split from traditional Judaism can be seen in the origins of Christianity, other
breakings include Conservative and Reform movements in the nineteenth century. One of the greatest
prophets in the Jewish tradition is Moses. Living at around the thirteenth century BC, Moses is
accredited with delivering the Jewish Israelites from the harsh oppression of the

Reflection About Suffering
Introduction
Christians know other Christians are prone to suffering. Non Christians I have spoken to believe that
Christians have a happy life. Non believers believe we do not endure suffering simply because in their
reality, God is personified as a genie; Christians can simply pray for what they desire in life; examples
including money, power, wealth, and the Lord will grant those desires immediately. However,
Christians know suffering is inevitable. From a theological standpoint, suffering is defined as: the
experience of physical pain and mental distress. ( suffering ) If individuals were to evaluate suffering
from a Christian perspective, we must realize categories that come with suffering. First, suffering is
the consequence of the flawed nature of creation. Second, suffering is the direct consequence of one s
violation of God s laws. Third, suffering can be good for our faith, and finally suffering is embedded
in truth, Christianity, and within the church. Historical Development
Before looking at the categories which formulate suffering, I would like to look at Christian authors
who agreed with my categories of suffering and who also sparked my inspiration for evaluating
suffering from a believer s viewpoint.
The first author is John Bunyan. His book, The Pilgrim s Progress tells the story of Christian, a
pilgrim who journeys from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. The City of Destruction
emulates the world; Celestial City heaven. Christian was

Australia s Joint Military Initiatives
Introduction
In November 2011, Prime Minister Julia Gillard and US president Barack Obama announced to
Australian parliament a number of joint military initiatives the two countries would undertake as a part
of the US strategy to rebalance towards the Pacific region. While touring the US in 2013, Prime
Minister Gillard continued to convey her support during a speech to congress where she proclaimed,
you have a true friend down under. However, does this sentiment place Australia in a conflicted
position given its perceived economic reliance on Chinese trade? This paper argues this is not the
case. Furthermore, Australia has the potential to assist the US with their strategic intent by increasing
security and stability throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thesis
This research paper argues the Seasonal Workers Program can help stabilize the South Pacific by
influencing regional economies. Moreover, the program reinvigorates Australian leadership in the
region, reducing the likelihood of increased Chinese influence and therefore supports the strategic
intent of the US.
Why the Rebalance Strategy?
President Barak Obama announced to the Australian parliament in November 2011 that the United
States had commenced a review to establish key strategic interests in order to guide budgetary and
defense priorities. The US Pivot to the Pacific strategy commenced with President Obama declaring
he had directed my national security team to make our presence and mission in the Asia Pacific a top
priority. A forecast reduction in military commitments in the Middle East would allow resources
reallocation to the Pacific region to strengthen relationships with partner nations and counter a rise in
Chinese strength. Therefore, this begs the question why has the US postured to the Pacific?
The period immediately prior to the 2011 announcement saw a gradual increase in US diplomatic
interest within the Pacific region. Prior to this recent increase, the lack of US diplomatic support gave
regional partners the impression the US role in regional affairs was on the decline just as Chinese
influence was increasing. According to political

Shale Rocks
Shale is the most common sedimentary rock. It was deposited and formed by squeezing excess
formation water and mineralogical transformations at different temperatures and pressures. Caprocks
are essentially defined as low permeability formations, and sometimes, but not necessarily, with low
porosity. More than 60% of effective seals for geologic hydrocarbon bearing formations as natural
hydraulic barriers constitute of shale rocks. Shale rocks are predominantly composed of clay such as
kaolinite, montmorillonite and illite. They might also have other silica and carbonate based minerals
that contribute to their geomechanical strength. In 1965, D. Shaw and C. Weaver documented the
average mineralogical composition of shale from three hundred ... Show more content on

Caprock integrity failure can cause leakage and containment incidents. Currently, there are more than
400 underground storage sites in the United States, including natural gas storage, oil and gas waste
disposal, industrial hazardous and non hazardous waste disposal, and municipal sanitation waste
disposal. So far, there are no documented cases of fully remediating a leak in a caprock in either a
natural gas storage or waste injection project. This makes preventing the leakage becomes essential,
because most of the time, leaks could have been avoided through proper and thorough geologic
characterization of the caprock [Bruno, et al, 2014]. The integrity of shale caprock relies on the
geomechanical properties of the rock, and it has effects on the quality and quantity of the
gas/hydrocarbons beneath and within it. Potential loss of caprock integrity is commonly due to tensile
fracturing, fault activation, and wellbore failure in the caprock. Understanding the microstructure and
mechanical properties of the shale caprocks helps to maintain its integrity, predict the potential risk
and prevent the failures from

The Challenges Of Homer s Journey In The October Sky
The film October Sky is a motion picture consisting of Homer Hickam s journey. His journey is
composed of various setbacks and advancements. A perfect analogy of his journey can be put into this
simple saying: two steps forward one step back. This analogy collaborates perfectly with Homer s
journey due to all of the challenges he faced throughout his journey. Homer s journey to success
contains various challenges and advancements which all playan important role in the outcome. Homer
s journey was not particularly a very straightforward one. In fact, his journey was jam packed with
challenges he had to face and overcome. One of the main challenges that Homer faced was the

I believe that everyone, no matter how big or small, also has challenges and obstacles which test them.
Although the difficulty and frequency of these setbacks are not set in stone, everyone has to face these
challenges to move on in life. Personally, one of the greatest challenges for me is to become what I
want to be. In order to reach my goal I must finish university at a high standard, then move onto
medical school to finish my education. Although, my challenges do not align with Homer s, one
bridge that can connect us, is the fact that our fathers are extremely demanding. Now, John Hickam
wants Homer to work in the coal mine instead of Homer s optimistic view of pursuing rocketry. This
contradicts my father s belief, which is of me being optimistic and becoming something which
involves tons of hard work. This places a great deal of pressure on me in my studies. My method of
achieving this will be, of course, working hard and such. However, it also plays a big part in me
actually becoming what I want to be and not just what other people want. With me being on the same

own privacy in households and backyards is an entitlement that we all are gifted with, but many
people are having that privacy tarnished with a new creation sweeping the country Drones. Domestic

Staphylococcus Research Paper
Staphylococcus epidermidis is a gram positive bacterium meaning that it is a bacterium that takes up
the crystal violet strain when used in the gram strain test. When this tests is being undertaken the
bacterium turns a purple colour when looking through a microscope. This is due to the thick
peptidoglycan layer in the cell wall, as it retains the strain after being washed in the decolorization
stage. However due the thicker peptidoglycan layer staphylococcus is more receptive of antiseptics
due to the absence of an outer membrane.
Escherichia coli (E.coli) is a gram negative bacterium meaning that it is bacteria that does not retain
crystal violet after the decolorization step. However alcohol used in this stage degrades the outer
membrane making the cell wall more porous and incapable of retaining the crystal violet strain.
Compared to staphylococcus epidermidis their peptidoglycan layer is much thinner and is surrounded
between an inner cell membrane and a bacterial outer membrane. It is a facultative anaerobe, which is
an organism that makes ATP by aerobic respiration if oxygen is present. However it is capable of
switching to anaerobic respiration is oxygen is not present. E.coli is a rod shape bacterium of the
genus Escherichia. This type of bacteria is commonly found in the lower intestine of endotherms. ...

Cultural Commodification InThey Are Taking Our Culture Away
Abstract They Are Taking our Culture Away by Elisabeth Kirtsoglou and Dimitrios Theodossopoulos
discusses the Garifuna community and their struggle with cultural commodification and how their
community handles and tries to fix it. Throughout They are Taking our Culture Away Elisabeth and
Dimitrios looked at the many ways the Garifuna are being commodified. Within this paper what they
researched will also be discussed and also what can be done to help preserve this culture.
Commodification as a broad topic will play a large role in this paper, and whether or not culture is a
commodity that should be bought and sold. Commodification will also be talked about in terms with
what role it plays in a culture and the affects that it has on modern tourism and the tourist s outlook on
the world and other cultures.
Commodification
Commodification is defined as a way to make something into an object for commercial use . In terms
of culture and tourism, commodification refers to using a place s culture and the cultural artifacts to
make a large enough profit to support part of the area s economy . Commodification is found
everywhere in modern tourism. Although there may be good things about cultural commodification,
such as profit, there are many more bad aspects to it. For example, commodification alters a tourists
potentiality to have an authentic experience while visiting another culture. This then introduces the
tourist to a false culture and strays them away from the

Essay about The Effects of Class Structure in the 1920 s
Class Structures in the 1920 s
The emerging inequitable class systems and antagonisms of the nineteen twenties saw the traditional
order and moral values challenged, as well as the creation of great wealth for few and poverty for
many. The Great Gatsby, written by Francis Scott Fitzgerald, explores the causes and effects of the
unbalanced class structures. Fitzgerald outlines the idea that the desire to accumulate wealth and status
is a common ambition amongst the lower classes; when that desire is reached, the traditional upper
class is challenged by the emerging newly wealthy, which finally leads to destructive consequences.
By creating rigid class structures, traditional upper class, new wealth, and the poor in The Great

Gatsby comes from the Platonic conception of Gatz and by comparing Gatsby to Platonic Idealism,
the idea of Gatsby becomes immortalized and genuine. Gatsby, representing the lower class desires to
alter his status to an unalterable conception, which epitomizes the new money s desires. Tom
Buchanan, the embodiment of the traditional upper class, is a domineering man who desires only one
result, to maintain his status and wealth. Tom obsesses over maintaining a pure, rich class of
Caucasians that he believes should never be challenged: It s up to us, who are the dominant race, to

proposes that in order to protect civilization, their traditional wealthy class must be conscious of the

Career and Technical Education in High School: Does it Improve Student Outcomes?
Problem
Career and Technical Education (CTE) or vocational education provides preparation and skill building
for careers. Some high school students will enter the workforce without additional training, but many
will receive secondary CTE professional certifications. The goal of CTE is to connect students with
growing industries in the American economy and give them the skills and training required for long
term success. However, little is known about CTE. Therefore, students lack access to high quality
secondary CTE.

Geothermal Energy Is A Kind Of Energy
1. Introduction
Geothermal energy is a kind of energy that provided by the heat of our planet, the Earth. The cost of
geothermal energy is low, and it is reliable and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some
specific areas. Recent technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal
energy resources. Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating,
which add use potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas
pollution which are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than
those of fossil fuels. Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to
reduce emissions of greenhouse of the earth and of the pollution to the environment.
California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy,
which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. According to EIA [1], the
monthly average consumption per person is 557kWh, we can get,
Total Capacity = (557 ×12 kWh/year×100,000)/(365 ×24 ×0.92h/year) = 83 MW
Therefore, our geothermal power plant capacity is 83MW.

Captain Keith Mallory, the main character of the book is introduced. Chosen by Captain Jensen, he is
to lead a sabotage mission into the fortress on the island of Navarone, occupied by Germans, and
destroy the two guns in it, the guns of Navarone. The guns need to be destroyed so that ships can
evacuate the island of Kheros, which is close to Navarone. Because of the guns, the navy vessels are
unable to approach Kheros without taking heavy casualties. Numerous attacks on Navarone have been
unsuccessful and the sabotage mission is the last option to destroy the guns. The plan is for Mallory
and his team of specialists, introduced later in the book, to enter the island of Navarone from the
South side. The South side of Navarone is one great cliff, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

German patrol boat. Thy are forced to attack the ship and sink it to prevent being caught with a cargo
of explosives and an arsenal of weapons. Their boat also has engine trouble, and they decide to dock at
a nearby island. When they get to the island, they realize that there is a German watchtower on it. A

Things They Carried
Tim O Brien does a fantastic job of blurring the lines of what is true and what is fiction in The Things
They Carried. In fact, he often points out that he has made entire stories up, after the fact. He defends
his decisions by proposing that what he has done is, in fact, not lie, but rather tell a story truth. He
argues that his reason for doing this is to bring the story to life more than it could live through the
happening truth. I want you to feel what I felt. I want you to know why story truth is truer sometimes
than happening truth (O Brien, 183). O Brien believes that, when accompanied by vivid details which
essentially make the reader view the scene as a dream, story truths can carry greater emotional truths
than ever possible to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Story telling truth, as has been defined to an extent, isn t completely real. Most frequently, it is
modeled after happening truth, where it re shapes the story. Through the addition of details to the
happening truth, the story becomes more believable. Oftentimes, great morals come from story truths
where they were not previously evident in happening truths. One vivid example of this would be the
scene where Curt Lemon is killed. Following this is the baby water buffalo scene (O Brien, 74). (O
Brien, 80 81).
The details bring the story truth to life, as the reader can picture what is going on more clearly through
a sort of dream. Story truths bring events to life through the imagination. The thing about a story is
that you dream it as you tell it, hoping that others might then dream along with you, and in this way
memory and imagination and language combine to make spirits in the head. There is an illusion of
aliveness (O Brien, 218).
Oftentimes, heroic instances are added to give a story morals, where they may not have been visible to
begin with. Take, for example, the scene where O Brien describes the soldiers who come upon a killer
grenade. One of the soldiers jumped out and attempted to take the blast to save the rest of the soldiers.
Right before they all die, one of the soldiers asks why he jumped out

The changes in personality and behavior because of brain damage affect the daily tasks of people that
suffer from brain injury. Everyone behaves differently from others and everyone acts different in
social situations. Our brain is what makes who we are, and the brain also stores all of the information
an individual has learned throughout the years. There has been multiple studies that have found how
complex the brain really is and how our socio cognitive skills helps individuals get through social

The Trenches Of World War I
Introduction:
World War 1 changed the world around it. More men fought than one could comprehend. World War 1
almost destroyed an entire generation of men. The battlefield for Australians were lined with trenches
filled with disease, pests and the fallen where they had medical aid. They experienced traumas not yet
known commonly at all. The war was not embellished for its inhumanity in its time but as we see now
the men and women who helped with the war effort lived with fear of death, disease and infection.
What Were the Trenches? Why was a System of Trenches Employed?

Were Men from all Armies Involved in Trench Warfare? At Which Battle Sites Were Trenches Dug?
The Allies consisted of Serbia, Russia, France (Raymond Poincarѐ), Romania, Belgium, British
Empire (David Lloyd George/George V), United States (Woodrow Wilson), Italy (Vittorio Emanuele
III/Vittorio Orlando), Brazil, Greece, Japan, Liberia, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Australia.
The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Austria Hungary, Bulgaria, Ottoman Empire. These powers
and allies fought each other on the Western Front, Eastern front, in Gallipoli, and France. The Western
Front, Eastern Front and Gallipoli had trenches protecting them.
What Were the Conditions Like for the Soldiers in the Trenches?
Trenches were infested with rats, disease and mud. Rats infested the trenches. There were two kinds of
rats black and brown. Brown rats were the most feared as they gorged on more human flesh and could
grow to the size of a small dogs. This quote describes rats perfectly Great, sleek, corpse fed rats ran in
squads between our legs and over our feet as we stood. Their obscene squeaking could be heard at all
times. Some men conceived an unmeasured hatred of these loathsome things, and were always trying
to slaughter them. I wondered, as I stood, did they picture themselves as those scattered corpses a prey
to these. Imagination is decidedly not good for a soldier. It is one of the things Kipling forgot to tell us

Child Abuse And Child Discipline
One of the most controversial topics is the difference between child abuse and child discipline. Abuse
is any action that intentionally harms or injures another person. Discipline is punishment that is
intended to correct or train. Some parents do not see the harm in their form of discipline, but others
may view it as abuse. It may not be the parent s intention to harm their child but it is something that
occurs. In 2012, state agencies found an estimate 686,000 of child maltreatment. .*(*Kids Count)
Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more
than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children).
Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through an action or failing to act causes injury,
death, or emotional harm to the child. A parent is responsible for disciplining their child, but some
may have a tendency of using extreme measures. In my opinion, I think in certain cases mild physical
punishment is acceptable. However, severe physical punishment should be avoided at all times,
because this is not healthy for the child.
Some parents do not know how to handle a child that is misbehaving, which is the reason abusive
discipline occurs. There are instances when a child s misbehavior can cause abuse to the parent. The
parent will reach a level of anger that will provoke them to automatically slap or hit the child. In
which case the parent believes physical force is an acceptable form of punishment.

To make sure that we are close to our Service level agreement (SLA) with our clients, we must check

To measure the performance I used Opsview monitoring solution to monitor both DNS and DHCP on

For DNS we need also to test how long it takes authoritative DNS servers to respond to a request for

atmosphere shifts. The further north they travel from Los Angeles palms and golden beaches, the cities

suburban neighborhoods to run down harbor towns. The positive emotional vibrations emitted from
such architecture slowly surrenders its grip on its surroundings to a grim, hopeless one. As new,
booming cities fade into sleepy and ancient villages only occupied by drunken sailors and lost tourists,
the traveler will soon realize they are in a much less pleasant place as where they originated their

God s dice chose her. You couldn t stop it. You never really had control, did you? You have lived your

The door swung open again. The homeless man walked in, holding a lottery ticket. Blood stained his

His skin was pale and raw, shackles attached to broken chains were wrapped around his neck and

His eyes were glowing white. A pair of horns had sprouted from he head.
He read the card aloud, his voice cutting through the air and filling the room like coastal mist.

John Wesley Movement Of Grace
The principle element of John Wesley s theology is the supernatural working of God s grace. As
developed by Collins, for Wesley the Christian life was a journey made only possible by the working
of God s grace (Collins, 2007). Through the entire work of God and man, God s nature of grace is
evident. Wesley describes the movement of God s grace in and through man in what he describes as
the Via Salutis or the Way of Salvation. Furthermore, the Via Salutis address several facets of grace
that Wesley identifies, including; prevenient grace, convincing grace, saving grace, assurance,
sanctifying grace and glorifying grace (Collins, 2007). The movement of grace is defined as

is the transforming power to discover oneness with God. A union that creates oneness that relinquishes
self control and yields to the eternal transforming power of God s grace. Further this process of

Comparing The Gods And God In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Gods and Goddesses and God Have you ever read a mythology story and thought wow these gods are
basically just overpowered humans? Well, the Epic of Gilgamesh is no different. You have a lot of
different gods interfering with humans, you have goddesses sleeping with humans, the gods are really
like the humans. The only real difference is the gods use humans more as a form of entertainment, of a
source of food. If you take a different viewpoint of religion you get something like the Bible. In this
story, you get the all powerful god whom in the first chapter doesn t really mess with the humans he
has created, he just gives them what they need. This god is the overseer. The difference in the way a
deity is represented in these stories can hold a huge significance in the way the people in these
societies behave. In Genesis, we are introduced to the Hebrew god. He is a powerful being, he created
the entire world by literally speaking it into existence. This god that created everything by saying Let
there be... stays away from his humans. He watches over the people he created but doesn t really
interact with them. When we go over to chapter 2 we see a god that does interact but still keeps a
distance. He talks to his creations, gives them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

humans were out of control not really helping with anything and just causing chaos so the only logical
thing to do is kill them off by a flood. The god then picks a human as a favorite and give him the
measurements for a boat. Where they begin to differ is in The Epic of Gilgamesh the gods want to
bring back humans because they are a source of food. Without humans to feed the gods, they would
starve so they brought them back. In Genesis God has Noah s family repopulate the earth so that they

How Did Civilization Differ From Ancient Civilization
Throughout the centuries humans have greatly evolved. Originally nomadic tribes, people learned to
settle down and form civilizations due to the Neolithic Revolution. During this time humans learned
how to farm. This major discovery allowed us to create cities where we could rely on our own
supplies and labor for food rather than moving around to follow and hunt animals for food. For this
plan to work the people had to settle around the most ideal conditions for farming. Thus, most of the
successful ancient civilizations were formed around rivers. Ancient Egypt and Ancient India were two
of the greatest ancient civilizations and they relied on the rivers they were built around for a surplus of
food, trade, and cultural diffusion. The Nile River was the river ancient Egyptians centralized their
civilization around. This river valley provided many valuable resources to the Egyptians. One example
of this was the annual flooding of the river. According to World History Connections to Today,

This ancient civilization is known today as the Indus valley. The civilians resided along the banks of
the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra. These rivers carry melted snow from the Himalayan mountain
range to the cities allowing the people of the Indus Valley to farm. (Esler Pg. 52) These rivers gave the
people of the Indus valley access to the Persian Gulf allowing them to trade with people of that area.
This caused the spread of Buddhism as well as new ideas being brought back to the Indus Valley. One
example of this is the Indus people s connections to Sumer. According to the text, Contact with Sumer
may have stimulated Indus Valley people to develop their own system of writing. To sum up, the rivers

25011100 11/29/2016 VACCINATIONS Throughout history, vaccinations have been used to help the
prevention of infectious diseases; some of which can produce serious illnesses, crippling disabilities,
and ultimately be the cause of death. There is evidence of ancient culture s attempting to treat
transmittable diseases with various forms of inoculations. Developments in the research of
vaccinations increased during the mid twentieth century because of the established of more advanced
laboratories, improved equipment, and new innovations. The progression of medicine during history
has helped further the development of research into vaccinations. Several cultural, ethical, and
religious issues have resulted from the development and use of vaccinations in our society. The topic
of vaccinations has caused a strong debate amongst our culture about the safety and danger of treating
infectious diseases with such methods. Through the understanding of infectious diseases, researchers
have been able to create several types of vaccines to help prevent a variety of life threatening illnesses.
Scientists develop immunizations using different techniques to treat diseases. These types include:

Pros And Cons Of President Hoover s New Deal
Economics can be defined as the study of the efficient allocation of scarce resources. Scarcity, a basic
concept of economics, states that society has an insufficient amount of productive resources to fill all
human wants and needs. The federal government fits into all of this by guiding the overall pace of
economic activity. They attempt to do so by to maintaining a steady economic growth, high levels of
employment, and price stability. How they carry these actions out, however, depends on which
economic model they decide to follow. The two major approaches to economic policies are the

Say s Law is an economic rule that claims supply creates its own demand. Ironically, Adam Smith and
John Keynes, despite having been born almost two centuries apart, had conflicting ideas surrounding
Say s Law. Adam Smith s Classical supporters agreed with Say s Law and strongly upheld that in a
free market, workers would always be willing to lower their wages to a level where employers could
profitably offer them jobs (Armstrong Economics). This declaration would have remained true if
unionization had not come to rise. Unions are recognized as organized associations of workers formed
to protect and further worker rights and interests. Because of unions, Keynes argued that workers
would not allow their wages to be lowered. Furthermore, in his General Theory, Keynes proposed that
demand was the key to unlocking economic prosperity, not supply. Therefore, Keynes called for an
activist economic role for government to stimulate demand in times of high unemployment while

The importance of checking if the item is in a store because if the item is not in stock it cannot be
shipped out. Those ordering the item need to be able to plan how long it will take since the item go to
the back order status. There should be also an address check confirmation matched against the USPS
national address label database to make sure the address is correct before shipping items, because if
the items are shipped to the wrong address, then it will cost the company assets and time.
Main Reasons Why Checking for Errors is Important
The main reason of checking for errors in an activity diagram is to recognize any errors and to make
sure that the requirements are fully met. Another important motive checking for errors is to check for
error that might cause problems when there is an issue during a life cycle transaction. Having a
working method to check for errors could possibly prompt to massive cost savings as well as better
and efficient products. According to Cebollero, M., Natarajan, J., Coles, M. (2015), checking for
errors in the system design will eventually protect both the business and the customer. It is also
important to have a cancellation error handling message in place. Without including a cancellation
condition, it may lead to constant changes and will necessitate re design of some mechanisms of error
handling considerations at a later point of time.

Web GIS Technology Using GIS Server
Abstract:
Web based mapping is the process of generating and providing maps on the World Wide Web for users
to search and browse spatial information. Web mapping has been designed based on a client/server
technology. In client/server architectures the server side is in charge of the data querying, analysis and
processing, whereas the client side is based on the user interaction, map display and report generation.
Web services make it easy to share GIS resources across client applications, including ArcGIS for
Desktop, web mapping applications, mobile devices.
Key Words: GIS Server, Web Mapping, Geodatabase.
Introduction:
GIS resources are the maps, globes, address locators, geodatabases, and tools that one wants to share
with others. It can host GIS resources on ArcGIS for Server system and allow client applications, such
as web mapping applications and mobile devices, to use and interact with the resources [1]. It is
possible to create web based services, providing maps for users to search and browse geographic
information [2]. ESRI s ArcGIS Server connects people with the geographic information they need.
Organizations use ArcGIS Server to distribute maps and other GIS capabilities provided by web
mapping applications and services to improve internal workflows, communicate vital issues, and

Relations Between Iran And The Middle East
Oil. This one word can explain the relationship between the western world especially the United
States and the Middle East. It can be used to trace the reasoning behind many interactions between
these two spheres of the world. It is also the basis of one of the most controversial foreign policy
operations of the United States, Operation Ajax. Although Operation Ajax happened sixty years ago,
its consequences had immediate and lasting effects on both Iran and American Iranian relations. I will
argue that the coup led to the 1979 Islamic revolution and consequently put into motion the strained
relations between Iran and the United States; it also had significant effects on both the United States
and Iran s political history. I will cement my argument by giving a detailed account of Operation Ajax
and the players involved in it as well as giving descriptive examples of why it happened as well as
how it continues to have a lasting effect.
The United States has no credibility as a bearer of democracy to Iran because of its role in crushing
democracy there half a century ago (Kinzer xvii). This was said by Akbar Ganji an Iranian dissident
who precisely struck a significant point of American Iranian relations. That one sentence explains
exactly what happened during Operation Ajax Iran s first democracy was destroyed in an attempt to
protect self interested parties of the western world. Operation Ajax was a coup organized and carried

I believe American society does not provide enough quality education on the nature of parenting and

Research Paper On Andrew Jackson And The Battle Of New...
Andrew Jackson and The Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson is widely known for his time as our
seventh president, however, he started off as a general and led the famous Battle of New Orleans. The
war started when American ships were targeted for search and attack by the British Navy. The United
States were outnumbered, yet in the end, we still reigned victorious. By uniting Americans, Native
Americans, and the Baratarian pirates the British were defeated and the treaty of Ghent was signed
and made official, ending the war of 1812.
The War of 1812 (Conflict) The war of 1812 started for many reasons, however, one of the main
reasons was British navy stopping and searching American ships for former British sailors who
abandoned their ships and forcing people to fight for them. Another reason for the war s start was
because motivation of the war hawks of the US congress to go to war with great Britain was their need
to totally expel Great Britain from the remaining land still under British domain on the North
American Peninsula, (Tim Nash). This need to push Britain out of the North American peninsula
helped the USA grow to be what it is today. As the war heated, America grew its army to include not
only Americans, but also had the Baratarian pirates and some Native American tribes, though most
sided with the British hoping for independence. [After many American victories, it was time to take

Piaget s Theory On Child Development
Children are not simply small adults who are still growing; they learn differently and experience the
world in a variation of ways that opposes adult reasoning. Piaget s theory on child development asserts
that there are four stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete
operational, and formal operational. Piaget also suggested that human thinking is arranged into
schemes, organized mental patterns that represent behaviors and actions (Feldman, 2015, p. 17). These
schemes are the building blocks of knowledge and experience growth through two basic principles:
assimilation and accommodation (Feldman, 2015). Assimilation refers to the process in which people
understand new ideas in relation to their own way of thinking and adapt, where as accommodation
refers to changes in the way of thinking caused by new stimuli. Natural observation of children can
lend an insight into Piaget s stages of development, which is the method chosen for this study. For this
observation two children were selected, one male and one female. Subject A is a Caucasian male,
approximately 3 years of age, who has middle class parents, and a stay at home mom; Subject B child
is a Caucasian female, also approximately 3 years of age, has middle class parents, and a mother who
works part time. According to Piaget s theory, these two subjects are in the preoperational stage. The
preoperational stage is a time of complex thinking and reasoning, during this time,

  • 2. The Common Origins of the World’s Major Religions Essay The Common Origins of the World s Major Religions All too often in modern society it is the differences and conflicts that serve to separate religious groups that are emphasized. The mainstream media, fundamentalists propaganda, and other sources choose to ignore the numerous similarities that many religions share, and instead focus on the divisive elements. In this paper, I will attempt to shed light on the many commonalities in dogma that I believe exist between the major religions of the world. I also want to illustrate the fact that in addition to having similar core teachings, many religions have histories that have either endured or arisen during times of persecution. It is ironic that in many cases, the persecution that a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Judaism The Jewish Bible points to Abraham and the covenant that God made with him in the Book of Genesis. Yahweh s people as they are known, today Jews account for over fourteen million people. Throughout their history, Jews have been persecuted for their faith as much as, if not more than the followers of any other faith. From having the first temple of Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians in 586BC to internment in Nazi concentration camps in the twentieth century, Jews communities have remained solidly united through belief in the Diaspora and the goal of reestablishing the state of Israel. Finally, in 1948, Israel once again regained its sovereignty; however, this has not brought an end to the suffering and conflict that seems to have characterized Jewish life since its inception. Central to Jewish dogma, is adherence to the Torah, or the Jewish Bible. The Torah, which is composed primarily of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. While the most notable split from traditional Judaism can be seen in the origins of Christianity, other breakings include Conservative and Reform movements in the nineteenth century. One of the greatest prophets in the Jewish tradition is Moses. Living at around the thirteenth century BC, Moses is accredited with delivering the Jewish Israelites from the harsh oppression of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection About Suffering Introduction Christians know other Christians are prone to suffering. Non Christians I have spoken to believe that Christians have a happy life. Non believers believe we do not endure suffering simply because in their reality, God is personified as a genie; Christians can simply pray for what they desire in life; examples including money, power, wealth, and the Lord will grant those desires immediately. However, Christians know suffering is inevitable. From a theological standpoint, suffering is defined as: the experience of physical pain and mental distress. ( suffering ) If individuals were to evaluate suffering from a Christian perspective, we must realize categories that come with suffering. First, suffering is the consequence of the flawed nature of creation. Second, suffering is the direct consequence of one s violation of God s laws. Third, suffering can be good for our faith, and finally suffering is embedded in truth, Christianity, and within the church. Historical Development Before looking at the categories which formulate suffering, I would like to look at Christian authors who agreed with my categories of suffering and who also sparked my inspiration for evaluating suffering from a believer s viewpoint. The first author is John Bunyan. His book, The Pilgrim s Progress tells the story of Christian, a pilgrim who journeys from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. The City of Destruction emulates the world; Celestial City heaven. Christian was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Australia s Joint Military Initiatives Introduction In November 2011, Prime Minister Julia Gillard and US president Barack Obama announced to Australian parliament a number of joint military initiatives the two countries would undertake as a part of the US strategy to rebalance towards the Pacific region. While touring the US in 2013, Prime Minister Gillard continued to convey her support during a speech to congress where she proclaimed, you have a true friend down under. However, does this sentiment place Australia in a conflicted position given its perceived economic reliance on Chinese trade? This paper argues this is not the case. Furthermore, Australia has the potential to assist the US with their strategic intent by increasing security and stability throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thesis This research paper argues the Seasonal Workers Program can help stabilize the South Pacific by influencing regional economies. Moreover, the program reinvigorates Australian leadership in the region, reducing the likelihood of increased Chinese influence and therefore supports the strategic intent of the US. Why the Rebalance Strategy? President Barak Obama announced to the Australian parliament in November 2011 that the United States had commenced a review to establish key strategic interests in order to guide budgetary and defense priorities. The US Pivot to the Pacific strategy commenced with President Obama declaring he had directed my national security team to make our presence and mission in the Asia Pacific a top priority. A forecast reduction in military commitments in the Middle East would allow resources reallocation to the Pacific region to strengthen relationships with partner nations and counter a rise in Chinese strength. Therefore, this begs the question why has the US postured to the Pacific? The period immediately prior to the 2011 announcement saw a gradual increase in US diplomatic interest within the Pacific region. Prior to this recent increase, the lack of US diplomatic support gave regional partners the impression the US role in regional affairs was on the decline just as Chinese influence was increasing. According to political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Shale Rocks Shale is the most common sedimentary rock. It was deposited and formed by squeezing excess formation water and mineralogical transformations at different temperatures and pressures. Caprocks are essentially defined as low permeability formations, and sometimes, but not necessarily, with low porosity. More than 60% of effective seals for geologic hydrocarbon bearing formations as natural hydraulic barriers constitute of shale rocks. Shale rocks are predominantly composed of clay such as kaolinite, montmorillonite and illite. They might also have other silica and carbonate based minerals that contribute to their geomechanical strength. In 1965, D. Shaw and C. Weaver documented the average mineralogical composition of shale from three hundred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Caprock integrity failure can cause leakage and containment incidents. Currently, there are more than 400 underground storage sites in the United States, including natural gas storage, oil and gas waste disposal, industrial hazardous and non hazardous waste disposal, and municipal sanitation waste disposal. So far, there are no documented cases of fully remediating a leak in a caprock in either a natural gas storage or waste injection project. This makes preventing the leakage becomes essential, because most of the time, leaks could have been avoided through proper and thorough geologic characterization of the caprock [Bruno, et al, 2014]. The integrity of shale caprock relies on the geomechanical properties of the rock, and it has effects on the quality and quantity of the gas/hydrocarbons beneath and within it. Potential loss of caprock integrity is commonly due to tensile fracturing, fault activation, and wellbore failure in the caprock. Understanding the microstructure and mechanical properties of the shale caprocks helps to maintain its integrity, predict the potential risk and prevent the failures from ... His journey is composed of various setbacks and advancements. A perfect analogy of his journey can be put into this simple saying: two steps forward one step back. This analogy collaborates perfectly with Homer s journey due to all of the challenges he faced throughout his journey. Homer s journey to success contains various challenges and advancements which all playan important role in the outcome. Homer s journey was not particularly a very straightforward one. In fact, his journey was jam packed with challenges he had to face and overcome. One of the main challenges that Homer faced was the difficulties with his dad, John Hickam. Although the difficulty and frequency of these setbacks are not set in stone, everyone has to face these challenges to move on in life. In order to reach my goal I must finish university at a high standard, then move onto medical school to finish my education. Although, my challenges do not align with Homer s, one bridge that can connect us, is the fact that our fathers are extremely demanding. Now, John Hickam wants Homer to work in the coal mine instead of Homer s optimistic view of pursuing rocketry. This contradicts my father s belief, which is of me being optimistic and becoming something which involves tons of hard work. This places a great deal of pressure on me in my studies. My method of achieving this will be, of course, working hard and such. However, it also plays a big part in me actually becoming what I want to be and not just what other people want. • 11. Staphylococcus Research Paper Staphylococcus epidermidis is a gram positive bacterium meaning that it is a bacterium that takes up the crystal violet strain when used in the gram strain test. When this tests is being undertaken the bacterium turns a purple colour when looking through a microscope. This is due to the thick peptidoglycan layer in the cell wall, as it retains the strain after being washed in the decolorization stage. However due the thicker peptidoglycan layer staphylococcus is more receptive of antiseptics due to the absence of an outer membrane. Escherichia coli (E.coli) is a gram negative bacterium meaning that it is bacteria that does not retain crystal violet after the decolorization step. However alcohol used in this stage degrades the outer membrane making the cell wall more porous and incapable of retaining the crystal violet strain. Compared to staphylococcus epidermidis their peptidoglycan layer is much thinner and is surrounded between an inner cell membrane and a bacterial outer membrane. It is a facultative anaerobe, which is an organism that makes ATP by aerobic respiration if oxygen is present. However it is capable of switching to anaerobic respiration is oxygen is not present. Fitzgerald outlines the idea that the desire to accumulate wealth and status is a common ambition amongst the lower classes; when that desire is reached, the traditional upper class is challenged by the emerging newly wealthy, which finally leads to destructive consequences. • 16. Geothermal Energy Is A Kind Of Energy 1. Introduction Geothermal energy is a kind of energy that provided by the heat of our planet, the Earth. The cost of geothermal energy is low, and it is reliable and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some specific areas. Recent technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal energy resources. Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating, which add use potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas pollution which are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than those of fossil fuels. Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to reduce emissions of greenhouse of the earth and of the pollution to the environment. California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy, which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. According to EIA [1], the monthly average consumption per person is 557kWh, we can get, Total Capacity = (557 ×12 kWh/year×100,000)/(365 ×24 ×0.92h/year) = 83 MW Therefore, our geothermal power plant capacity is 83MW. 2. • 18. Things They Carried Tim O Brien does a fantastic job of blurring the lines of what is true and what is fiction in The Things They Carried. In fact, he often points out that he has made entire stories up, after the fact. He defends his decisions by proposing that what he has done is, in fact, not lie, but rather tell a story truth. He argues that his reason for doing this is to bring the story to life more than it could live through the happening truth. I want you to feel what I felt. I want you to know why story truth is truer sometimes than happening truth (O Brien, 183). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Story telling truth, as has been defined to an extent, isn t completely real. Most frequently, it is modeled after happening truth, where it re shapes the story. Through the addition of details to the happening truth, the story becomes more believable. Oftentimes, great morals come from story truths where they were not previously evident in happening truths. One vivid example of this would be the scene where Curt Lemon is killed. Following this is the baby water buffalo scene (O Brien, 74). (O Brien, 80 81). The details bring the story truth to life, as the reader can picture what is going on more clearly through a sort of dream. Story truths bring events to life through the imagination. The thing about a story is that you dream it as you tell it, hoping that others might then dream along with you, and in this way memory and imagination and language combine to make spirits in the head. There is an illusion of aliveness (O Brien, 218). Oftentimes, heroic instances are added to give a story morals, where they may not have been visible to begin with. • 26. Child Abuse And Child Discipline One of the most controversial topics is the difference between child abuse and child discipline. Abuse is any action that intentionally harms or injures another person. Discipline is punishment that is intended to correct or train. Some parents do not see the harm in their form of discipline, but others may view it as abuse. It may not be the parent s intention to harm their child but it is something that occurs. In 2012, state agencies found an estimate 686,000 of child maltreatment. .*(*Kids Count) Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more than 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through an action or failing to act causes injury, death, or emotional harm to the child. A parent is responsible for disciplining their child, but some may have a tendency of using extreme measures. In my opinion, I think in certain cases mild physical punishment is acceptable. However, severe physical punishment should be avoided at all times, because this is not healthy for the child. Some parents do not know how to handle a child that is misbehaving, which is the reason abusive discipline occurs. There are instances when a child s misbehavior can cause abuse to the parent. The parent will reach a level of anger that will provoke them to automatically slap or hit the child. In which case the parent believes physical force is an acceptable form of punishment. ... The demonic words played one more time in his head. Hear that? that s the sound your fate. The sound of dice rolling.

  • 32. John Wesley Movement Of Grace The principle element of John Wesley s theology is the supernatural working of God s grace. As developed by Collins, for Wesley the Christian life was a journey made only possible by the working of God s grace (Collins, 2007). Through the entire work of God and man, God s nature of grace is evident. Wesley describes the movement of God s grace in and through man in what he describes as the Via Salutis or the Way of Salvation. Furthermore, the Via Salutis address several facets of grace that Wesley identifies, including; prevenient grace, convincing grace, saving grace, assurance, sanctifying grace and glorifying grace (Collins, 2007). The movement of grace is defined as prevenient grace, or preemptive grace. Prevenient grace as described ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wesley s intent is clear. There is a maturing and yielding process that every follower of Christ must submit to in order to discover the depth and riches of God s love. As Mulholland describes (Mulholland Barton, 2017), there is a great union to be had between God and man. Within that union is the transforming power to discover oneness with God. A union that creates oneness that relinquishes self control and yields to the eternal transforming power of God s grace. Further this process of yielding, uniting, maturing, and pursuing is the central theme of Wesley s desire for every man, woman, and child to experience the depth of God s holy ... • 33. Comparing The Gods And God In The Epic Of Gilgamesh Gods and Goddesses and God Have you ever read a mythology story and thought wow these gods are basically just overpowered humans? Well, the Epic of Gilgamesh is no different. You have a lot of different gods interfering with humans, you have goddesses sleeping with humans, the gods are really like the humans. The only real difference is the gods use humans more as a form of entertainment, of a source of food. If you take a different viewpoint of religion you get something like the Bible. In this story, you get the all powerful god whom in the first chapter doesn t really mess with the humans he has created, he just gives them what they need. This god is the overseer. The difference in the way a deity is represented in these stories can hold a huge significance in the way the people in these societies behave. In Genesis, we are introduced to the Hebrew god. He is a powerful being, he created the entire world by literally speaking it into existence. This god that created everything by saying Let there be... stays away from his humans. He watches over the people he created but doesn t really interact with them. When we go over to chapter 2 we see a god that does interact but still keeps a distance. The humans were out of control not really helping with anything and just causing chaos so the only logical thing to do is kill them off by a flood. The god then picks a human as a favorite and give him the measurements for a boat. Where they begin to differ is in The Epic of Gilgamesh the gods want to bring back humans because they are a source of food. Without humans to feed the gods, they would starve so they brought them back. In Genesis God has Noah s family repopulate the earth so that they can continue to praise their ... • 34. How Did Civilization Differ From Ancient Civilization Throughout the centuries humans have greatly evolved. Originally nomadic tribes, people learned to settle down and form civilizations due to the Neolithic Revolution. During this time humans learned how to farm. This major discovery allowed us to create cities where we could rely on our own supplies and labor for food rather than moving around to follow and hunt animals for food. For this plan to work the people had to settle around the most ideal conditions for farming. Thus, most of the successful ancient civilizations were formed around rivers. Ancient Egypt and Ancient India were two of the greatest ancient civilizations and they relied on the rivers they were built around for a surplus of food, trade, and cultural diffusion. The Nile River was the river ancient Egyptians centralized their civilization around. This river valley provided many valuable resources to the Egyptians. One example of this was the annual flooding of the river. According to World History Connections to Today, Egyptians eagerly awaited the annual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is evidence of ancient culture s attempting to treat transmittable diseases with various forms of inoculations. Developments in the research of vaccinations increased during the mid twentieth century because of the established of more advanced laboratories, improved equipment, and new innovations. The progression of medicine during history has helped further the development of research into vaccinations. Several cultural, ethical, and religious issues have resulted from the development and use of vaccinations in our society. The topic of vaccinations has caused a strong debate amongst our culture about the safety and danger of treating infectious diseases with such methods. Through the understanding of infectious diseases, researchers have been able to create several types of vaccines to help prevent a variety of life threatening illnesses. Scientists develop immunizations using different techniques to treat diseases. These types include: live, killed, toxoids, subunit, and conjugate vaccines. Vaccinations that are the live type use a specific process which when administered will expose the patient to the actual disease, but in a much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Pros And Cons Of President Hoover s New Deal Economics can be defined as the study of the efficient allocation of scarce resources. Scarcity, a basic concept of economics, states that society has an insufficient amount of productive resources to fill all human wants and needs. The federal government fits into all of this by guiding the overall pace of economic activity. They attempt to do so by to maintaining a steady economic growth, high levels of employment, and price stability. How they carry these actions out, however, depends on which economic model they decide to follow. The two major approaches to economic policies are the Keynesian and Classical views. Say s Law is an economic rule that claims supply creates its own demand. Ironically, Adam Smith and John Keynes, despite having been born almost two centuries apart, had conflicting ideas surrounding Say s Law. Adam Smith s Classical supporters agreed with Say s Law and strongly upheld that in a free market, workers would always be willing to lower their wages to a level where employers could profitably offer them jobs (Armstrong Economics). This declaration would have remained true if unionization had not come to rise. Unions are recognized as organized associations of workers formed to protect and further worker rights and interests. Because of unions, Keynes argued that workers would not allow their wages to be lowered. Furthermore, in his General Theory, Keynes proposed that demand was the key to unlocking economic prosperity, not supply. Therefore, Keynes called for an activist economic role for government to stimulate demand in times of high unemployment while ignoring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Main Reasons Why Checking for Errors is Important The main reason of checking for errors in an activity diagram is to recognize any errors and to make sure that the requirements are fully met. Another important motive checking for errors is to check for error that might cause problems when there is an issue during a life cycle transaction. Having a working method to check for errors could possibly prompt to massive cost savings as well as better and efficient products. According to Cebollero, M., Natarajan, J., Coles, M. Web Gis Technology Using Gis Server Web GIS Technology Using GIS Server Abstract: Web based mapping is the process of generating and providing maps on the World Wide Web for users to search and browse spatial information. Web mapping has been designed based on a client/server technology. In client/server architectures the server side is in charge of the data querying, analysis and processing, whereas the client side is based on the user interaction, map display and report generation. Web services make it easy to share GIS resources across client applications, including ArcGIS for Desktop, web mapping applications, mobile devices. Key Words: GIS Server, Web Mapping, Geodatabase. Introduction: GIS resources are the maps, globes, address locators, geodatabases, and tools that one wants to share with others. It can host GIS resources on ArcGIS for Server system and allow client applications, such as web mapping applications and mobile devices, to use and interact with the resources [1]. It is possible to create web based services, providing maps for users to search and browse geographic information [2]. ESRI s ArcGIS Server connects people with the geographic information they need. Organizations use ArcGIS Server to distribute maps and other GIS capabilities provided by web mapping applications and services to improve internal workflows, communicate vital issues, and engage stakeholders [3]. • 39. Relations Between Iran And The Middle East Oil. This one word can explain the relationship between the western world especially the United States and the Middle East. It can be used to trace the reasoning behind many interactions between these two spheres of the world. It is also the basis of one of the most controversial foreign policy operations of the United States, Operation Ajax. Although Operation Ajax happened sixty years ago, its consequences had immediate and lasting effects on both Iran and American Iranian relations. I will argue that the coup led to the 1979 Islamic revolution and consequently put into motion the strained relations between Iran and the United States; it also had significant effects on both the United States and Iran s political history. I will cement my argument by giving a detailed account of Operation Ajax and the players involved in it as well as giving descriptive examples of why it happened as well as how it continues to have a lasting effect. The United States has no credibility as a bearer of democracy to Iran because of its role in crushing democracy there half a century ago (Kinzer xvii). This was said by Akbar Ganji an Iranian dissident who precisely struck a significant point of American Iranian relations. What do you suggest as a way to resolve this issue? I believe American society does not provide enough quality education on the nature of parenting and the impact of development of our children and the generations ahead. In today s world we face the challenges of being judged by the aspect of our chosen parenting style. Though we (parents) all have our own boundaries, standards, and beliefs to the ways of how we parent, society has us in a microscope ready to scull anyone (with judgement) who is different and that doesn t stay in the mainstream of what society views parenting ... • 42. Research Paper On Andrew Jackson And The Battle Of New... Andrew Jackson and The Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson is widely known for his time as our seventh president, however, he started off as a general and led the famous Battle of New Orleans. The war started when American ships were targeted for search and attack by the British Navy. The United States were outnumbered, yet in the end, we still reigned victorious. By uniting Americans, Native Americans, and the Baratarian pirates the British were defeated and the treaty of Ghent was signed and made official, ending the war of 1812. The War of 1812 (Conflict) The war of 1812 started for many reasons, however, one of the main reasons was British navy stopping and searching American ships for former British sailors who abandoned their ships and forcing people to fight for them. Another reason for the war s start was because motivation of the war hawks of the US congress to go to war with great Britain was their need to totally expel Great Britain from the remaining land still under British domain on the North American Peninsula, (Tim Nash). This need to push Britain out of the North American peninsula helped the USA grow to be what it is today. As the war heated, America grew its army to include not only Americans, but also had the Baratarian pirates and some Native American tribes, though most sided with the British hoping for independence. • 43. Piaget s Theory On Child Development Children are not simply small adults who are still growing; they learn differently and experience the world in a variation of ways that opposes adult reasoning. Piaget s theory on child development asserts that there are four stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. Piaget also suggested that human thinking is arranged into schemes, organized mental patterns that represent behaviors and actions (Feldman, 2015, p. 17). These schemes are the building blocks of knowledge and experience growth through two basic principles: assimilation and accommodation (Feldman, 2015). Assimilation refers to the process in which people understand new ideas in relation to their own way of thinking and adapt, where as accommodation refers to changes in the way of thinking caused by new stimuli. Natural observation of children can lend an insight into Piaget s stages of development, which is the method chosen for this study. For this observation two children were selected, one male and one female. Subject A is a Caucasian male, approximately 3 years of age, who has middle class parents, and a stay at home mom; Subject B child is a Caucasian female, also approximately 3 years of age, has middle class parents, and a mother who works part time. According to Piaget s theory, these two subjects are in the preoperational stage. The preoperational stage is a time of complex thinking and reasoning, during this time, ...
